00:00:30.000 What an amazing 24 hours it has been.
00:00:33.440 We had no idea what this debate would be like in today's world.
00:00:38.240 Anything can happen, and something did.
00:00:41.400 It was historic last night.
00:00:45.040 Joe Biden, well, Chip Roy is on the podcast today talking about how he's trying to pass a bill now to get the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment.
00:00:56.980 The world watched our president look feeble and weak, and we are in deep trouble.
00:01:05.080 I don't want him to resign.
00:01:07.580 Politically, it's a home run now for Donald Trump to win.
00:01:11.620 And I would love for Donald Trump just to walk through and just get into the office and really have a win that's so substantial, we're not divided anymore.
00:01:22.380 But this guy cannot be president of the United States a day more.
00:01:26.680 We talk about that.
00:01:27.960 We talk about the media, their reaction, the Democrats.
00:01:33.320 We talk to Trump advisors, Vivek Ramaswamy.
00:01:37.060 You've got the coverage from last night's debate on today's podcast.
00:01:41.200 Let me talk to you about Jace Medical.
00:01:44.080 It is so important for you to have a Jace case.
00:01:46.600 Nobody who looks at our economy for more than a minute or two thinks it's getting better.
00:01:51.620 Nobody who looks at our relationship with China and other countries thinks it's getting better.
00:01:57.560 People are not able to buy things.
00:02:00.980 Our drugs are all made overseas.
00:02:03.640 We're dependent on everybody else.
00:02:05.940 Do not follow that pattern.
00:02:08.680 Become dependent on yourself.
00:02:10.580 The Jace case is a personalized emergency kit that contains essential antibiotics and medications that will treat the most common and deadly bacterial infections.
00:02:21.120 It provides five life-saving antibiotics for emergency use.
00:02:25.040 You just fill out a simple form and you have it in your house just in case you need it.
00:02:29.860 It's Jace.
00:02:30.800 J-A-S-E dot com.
00:02:33.760 Jace dot com.
00:02:34.940 Enter the promo code Beck at checkout and you'll get a discount on your Jace case.
00:02:38.960 Do it now.
00:02:39.480 J-A-S-E dot com.
00:02:41.660 Jace dot com.
00:02:50.640 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:02:55.940 Okay.
00:02:57.860 Wow.
00:03:00.220 Wow.
00:03:00.940 Last night, I watched something I've never seen before.
00:03:06.960 This country just continues to get more and more bizarre.
00:03:13.740 When the president, I'm going to spend some time here talking as if you've watched the debate last night because we have so much to cover.
00:03:24.500 But I will tell you, let me just play the first thing that came out of Joe Biden's mouth last night.
00:03:32.720 Do we have the first cut with his opening statement, please?
00:03:35.860 Let me look for the number.
00:03:40.020 Let me look for the number.
00:03:40.580 I'm sorry.
00:03:41.260 It's cut six.
00:03:44.080 President Biden, inflation has slowed, but prices remain high.
00:03:47.900 Since you took office, the price of essentials has increased.
00:03:51.360 For example, a basket of groceries that cost $100 then now costs more than $120.
00:03:58.060 And typical home prices have jumped more than 30 percent.
00:04:01.340 What do you say to voters who feel they are worse off under your presidency than they were under President Trump?
00:04:07.440 We've got to take a look at what I was left when I became president and what Mr. Trump left me.
00:04:12.360 When he walked out at first, he looked like the walking dead.
00:04:17.040 And I think you're going to be surprised at some of the things I say today because I'm not playing politics and I'm hearing everybody else playing politics.
00:04:26.300 He looked really bad, really bad.
00:04:29.400 And then when he opened up his voice or opened up his mouth and that came out, well, I just want to.
00:04:35.960 It was breathtaking, breathtaking.
00:04:39.900 Just his presentation.
00:04:42.700 Continue, please.
00:04:44.100 President Trump.
00:04:45.120 We got to take a look at what I was left when I became president and what Mr. Trump left me.
00:04:50.000 We had an economy that was in freefall.
00:04:52.340 The pandemic was so badly handled.
00:04:54.680 Many people were dying.
00:04:55.840 All he said was, it's not that serious.
00:04:57.500 Just inject a little bleach into your arm.
00:04:59.760 You'll be all right.
00:05:00.900 The economy collapsed.
00:05:02.340 There were no jobs.
00:05:03.860 Unemployment rate rose to 15 percent.
00:05:06.160 It was terrible.
00:05:07.440 And so what we had to do is try to put things back together again.
00:05:10.420 That's exactly what we began to do.
00:05:13.040 That's probably the clearest he was all night.
00:05:16.300 Now, let me give you, well, let's cut 14, please.
00:05:22.860 Biden on the border.
00:05:25.420 Given that, why should voters trust you to solve this crisis?
00:05:28.840 Because we worked very hard to get a bipartisan agreement that not only changed all of that and made sure that we are in a situation where you had no circumstance where they could come across the border with the number of border police there are now.
00:05:43.040 We significantly increased the number of asylum officers, significantly, by the way, the border patrolman endorsed me, endorsed my position.
00:05:51.100 In addition to that, we found ourselves in a situation where when he was president, he was taking, separating babies from their mothers, putting them in cages, making sure the families were separated.
00:06:02.260 That's not the right way to go.
00:06:03.580 What I've done since I've changed the law, what's happened, I've changed it in a way that now you're in a situation where there are 40 percent fewer people coming across the border illegally.
00:06:14.320 It's better than when he left office.
00:06:16.380 And I'm going to continue to move until we get the total ban on the total initiative relative to what we're going to do with more border patrol and more asylum officers.
00:06:28.280 President Trump?
00:06:29.100 I really don't know what he said at the end of that sentence.
00:06:31.520 I don't think he knows what he said either.
00:06:33.940 Stop.
00:06:34.600 Cut 11.
00:06:35.900 Here's Joe Biden on Medicare.
00:06:38.640 We'd be able to wipe out his debt.
00:06:40.340 We'd be able to help make sure that all those things we need to do, child care, elder care, making sure that we continue to strengthen our health care system,
00:06:48.720 making sure that we're able to make every single solitary person eligible for what I've been able to do with the COVID,
00:06:57.920 excuse me, with dealing with everything we have to do with.
00:07:04.140 Look, if we finally beat Medicare.
00:07:09.680 Thank you, President Biden.
00:07:11.000 President Trump?
00:07:12.600 Well, he's right.
00:07:13.080 He did beat Medicare.
00:07:14.260 He beat it to death.
00:07:15.120 And he's destroying Medicare.
00:07:17.680 That is one of the first fumbles that Biden made.
00:07:21.840 And notice Donald Trump did not take a swing at him.
00:07:25.580 He said, you know, yeah, he did.
00:07:28.180 He did hit Medicare.
00:07:30.080 And he damn near destroyed it.
00:07:32.040 He's not making fun of his age.
00:07:33.920 It is the most restrained I have ever seen Donald Trump.
00:07:37.480 And we'll get into the strategy, which I believe was the strategy of the night for Biden, which was a complete and total disaster.
00:07:49.240 Let me.
00:07:54.660 Stunning.
00:07:55.220 I'm just having to.
00:07:55.980 It's like it's like Sophie's choice here.
00:07:57.880 I've got so much that I have to get on to the show today.
00:08:01.980 And I just don't.
00:08:03.540 I'm just I'm going to just have to assume that you knew what happened or that was enough information.
00:08:11.140 It was something I have never, ever seen before.
00:08:16.100 It was terrifying.
00:08:19.140 Terrifying.
00:08:20.360 If I'm Putin, I am.
00:08:23.440 I am storming Europe.
00:08:27.880 If I am China, I am going into Taiwan right now.
00:08:33.920 This is the weakest our president has ever appeared.
00:08:40.420 OK, never before in my lifetime.
00:08:42.860 I remember I wasn't around for Kennedy, but I remember when Reagan was in the hospital after being shot.
00:08:50.520 And that was a very nerve wracking time because he's not in charge and he transferred the powers to the vice president while he was in the hospital right at the beginning.
00:09:06.560 It was terrifying because you knew the world was watching.
00:09:11.020 Now, here's there.
00:09:12.680 There are there were three things that happened last night or or a few categories.
00:09:17.560 Categories.
00:09:18.560 One.
00:09:19.320 Those who knew those who knew that that Joe Biden was like this should be the most freaked out.
00:09:32.180 And I'll explain in a minute.
00:09:33.300 Those who believed in the media and all of this garbage that, no, this is just Republican, you know, a cheap fake.
00:09:45.220 He's never been more sharp.
00:09:47.340 He's never been better than he is right now.
00:09:49.640 He's so sharp and nimble.
00:09:51.960 Anybody who believed that and you saw this performance last night, you were probably in shock and you're lost today.
00:10:04.160 You don't know what to think today.
00:10:06.940 But here's what those people who believe the media and were shocked last night.
00:10:13.080 Here's what you should be thinking today.
00:10:15.680 I cannot trust any of my trusted sources because they all lied to me.
00:10:23.600 And I'll get to it in a second on why this is so important.
00:10:27.500 Then there were those who who ran this con and who participated in this con.
00:10:35.960 And I include every member of the press corps, anybody who's talked to him, anybody who's seen him,
00:10:42.740 anybody who has seen him up close and personal, has had conversations as the press, you knew it.
00:10:51.540 You knew it.
00:10:53.440 Also, those who ran the con in the White House and the Democratic Party, shame on you.
00:11:01.840 We need we do need a list of the people who ran this con and covered for him.
00:11:08.860 And I'll explain why again in a second.
00:11:12.740 And then there are those.
00:11:17.340 And they can fit in the last three categories, but less definitely the last two.
00:11:26.340 Those who are today responding by saying the Democratic Party is in trouble.
00:11:33.220 That what are we going to do for the election?
00:11:36.260 Can we get him to step down before the convention?
00:11:41.120 If we do, how do we pick?
00:11:43.320 Are you out of your mind?
00:11:47.180 We are now facing nuclear threats that we haven't faced since the 1960s.
00:11:54.600 But in the 1960s, we had a jackass of the Soviet Union, Khrushchev, but he was at least aware.
00:12:06.680 We had Jack Kennedy, who was in so much pain, not unbeknownst to you.
00:12:13.140 The doctors were jacking him up on drugs, but at least he was sane and all there.
00:12:20.860 We have a president that will have seven minutes to decide.
00:12:27.980 Seven minutes.
00:12:29.560 You know, I don't know if you know what it is like if there is a launch of a nuclear weapon or even one that we think has a nuclear bomb in it.
00:12:45.120 If North Korea would launch a hypersonic weapon at us, we would have less time than seven minutes.
00:12:55.660 We wouldn't be able to verify if that was a nuke or not.
00:13:01.100 The president has seven minutes to decide.
00:13:04.600 And what happens?
00:13:05.300 They open up the football and they take out what's called the Black Book of Death.
00:13:11.480 That's how serious this is.
00:13:13.500 It's called the Black Book of Death.
00:13:18.740 They open it up and it is like a, it's a, it's a cheesecake factory memo, menu.
00:13:28.840 And the president has to look through it and say, okay, this city, this system, these ships, these silos.
00:13:38.900 And then the guy who's with the football is kind of like an actuary.
00:13:43.500 He then has to look at all of those and take each selection and then go back to the president and say, within seven minutes, okay, Mr. President, this is going to result in this many dead.
00:13:56.240 Your target is North Korea.
00:13:58.060 But the, the selections that you made, some of those cities are up against the border of China.
00:14:05.520 The radiation will blow into China and you'll kill an additional 250,000 Chinese.
00:14:12.200 The Chinese will look at that as aggression against them and they may launch against you.
00:14:19.660 You may now include the Chinese.
00:14:21.800 Also up North, you're up towards Russia.
00:14:25.060 You're going to kill citizens in Russia as well.
00:14:28.660 Is this your selection, sir?
00:14:34.420 I am so angry today that I haven't heard one single person on television or in the political realm talk about the country.
00:14:51.760 They're all talking about an election.
00:14:56.280 How do we replace him before the convention?
00:14:59.860 How do we get him off of the ticket?
00:15:02.040 How do we get this man away from the football?
00:15:06.000 Do you know what our enemies were thinking last night?
00:15:09.460 This country is in more danger, clear and present danger than we have been, I believe, possibly in my lifetime.
00:15:22.300 We are weak.
00:15:24.280 The world knows it.
00:15:26.100 We have enemies everywhere.
00:15:28.320 They know it.
00:15:29.620 They are threatening nuclear weapons.
00:15:32.380 We cannot have this man with the black book of death and the button.
00:15:41.680 Does anyone understand what you actually saw?
00:15:46.980 You didn't see a presidential candidate.
00:15:49.000 You saw the president of the United States.
00:15:55.020 Where is anyone?
00:15:57.440 If you are celebrating because you're like, oh, God, this is going to be great for Trump.
00:16:00.940 A, be careful what you wish for.
00:16:05.160 But B, more than self their country loved.
00:16:13.040 If you are somebody who's on the left thinking, oh, well, this just played into the, quote, caricature that the right was trying to build about him.
00:16:23.540 We weren't trying to build that.
00:16:25.400 Do you think we want our country to be destroyed?
00:16:28.220 Does any American want our president to look like that?
00:16:34.040 Any American?
00:16:36.960 What the hell is wrong with us?
00:16:43.160 We're in more trouble not because of Joe Biden.
00:16:50.800 We're in more trouble because people are not recognizing the danger that is right in front of us.
00:17:05.200 You know, I've been saying a lot lately.
00:17:07.660 May God save the republic.
00:17:09.280 He cannot.
00:17:10.640 He cannot do what we won't participate in.
00:17:14.460 What are your plans for the 4th of July?
00:17:18.780 What are your plans for the 4th of July?
00:17:21.380 I hope you're doing something fun.
00:17:23.060 We're doing we're doing something.
00:17:24.480 I hope you're not doing kind of what we're doing right now.
00:17:27.740 Now, we have been remodeling this branch now forever, and we're still two weeks away, two weeks away.
00:17:37.780 And I hope that's true because I'm having a family reunion here and my family is hard enough to deal with.
00:17:44.000 But without, you know, boxes and everything else.
00:17:47.100 So we're spending 4th of July, you know, trying to finish the house and unbox things.
00:17:54.220 It's really, really great.
00:17:55.460 Anyway, if you are looking to buy or sell a house and you have to move, I know it's a nightmare.
00:18:02.200 It's an absolute nightmare to sell your house, to buy another one.
00:18:06.160 You need somebody that is that knows the best practices, knows your area specifically, knows what the neighborhoods are worth, know what's going on in those neighborhoods.
00:18:17.240 Knows the schools, et cetera, et cetera.
00:18:19.280 This is absolutely essential in the crazy times that we live in.
00:18:24.180 This is why I started RealEstateAgentsItrust.com.
00:18:27.120 We pair you up with the absolute top selling real estate agents in your area.
00:18:31.600 The agents that we vet and work with know the best practices, can help you negotiate.
00:18:37.720 Well, let's build a team of professionals to get the job done right the first time.
00:18:41.360 If you've never worked with a real estate agent who's top of the line, oh, you're going to be pleasantly surprised.
00:18:47.100 It's a totally different world.
00:18:49.640 Don't take my word for it.
00:18:50.580 Do your own homework.
00:18:51.680 Check them out.
00:18:52.140 You'll see what I mean.
00:18:53.460 RealEstateAgentsItrust.com.
00:18:54.680 The name says it all.
00:18:56.720 RealEstateAgentsItrust.com.
00:18:58.060 Now back to the podcast.
00:18:59.440 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck Program.
00:19:05.540 Vivek Brabyswamy, where were you last night during the debate?
00:19:11.460 I was in Atlanta.
00:19:12.800 We were watching it with a number of our fellow allies in the spin room where I was handling a lot of the media before and after.
00:19:19.500 And I got to tell you, Glenn, the media mood was despondent in response.
00:19:24.080 I mean, what we saw last night was, I think, a rejection of this country's greatness of President Biden standing there like he not had a drug, performance-enhancing drug, but like he had a lobotomy beforehand.
00:19:35.780 And the reality is this became more evident to me that they scheduled this debate as the first ever June debate in history.
00:19:44.660 It's the earliest ever debate to happen before the nominating convention of their own party.
00:19:49.640 It's increasingly clear why.
00:19:51.260 They wanted to put him through one final test before he became the nominee, and he failed it miserably.
00:19:56.640 That's the reality.
00:19:57.460 Yeah, I will tell you, I have a theory on exactly how this all came down and why.
00:20:03.660 And I'm going to express that next hour, but you're exactly right.
00:20:07.520 This was either a test or it was coordinated by those who knew this guy can't he can't win and he shouldn't be president.
00:20:20.140 But we'll see.
00:20:22.460 So the you say the press was despondent.
00:20:25.840 How could the press corps be shocked by something they had to have seen over and over again?
00:20:33.660 It depends on who you mean in the press corps, right?
00:20:36.280 You're thinking about the young people who are on the ground as the people who are assigned to be there that night.
00:20:40.900 They're just following directions.
00:20:42.560 I think the higher level fact of the matter is the managerial class has lost their use for Joe Biden.
00:20:48.300 So in some sense, they were prepared for him to be hung out to dry.
00:20:51.340 What I really think is the fact that any Americans at home are surprised by what they saw.
00:20:57.300 And many of my independent and centrist friends last night were shocked.
00:21:01.720 That is actually the indictment of the media, because the media is playing interference, running interference for Joe Biden for a long time.
00:21:09.300 But now they've just decided to let the old man fend for his own, and he wasn't able to do it.
00:21:14.620 And so the reality is they've lost their use for Biden.
00:21:17.360 His cognitive deficits, this is what it also reveals, Glenn, is for the people around him, the managerial class around him.
00:21:24.100 His cognitive deficits haven't been a bug.
00:21:26.320 It's kind of a feature, because that's what allows them to control him.
00:21:29.960 But right now, that managerial class is ready for a new candidate, I think.
00:21:33.480 Let me ask you, beyond the candidacy, have you read Annie Jacobson's book, Nuclear War?
00:21:43.380 I have not, no.
00:21:44.820 You should read it.
00:21:46.060 I know how you love to read.
00:21:48.000 You'd love that book.
00:21:49.480 It talks about the first, I think it's 15 or 30 minutes of a nuclear war, and minute by minute, and it's amazing.
00:21:57.000 There is no way that that man should be, they should be talking, and you've run many companies.
00:22:03.480 If that was your CEO, and you were chairman of the board, would you not be holding a vote today with the board of directors to relieve him of his duties?
00:22:15.040 Not because of a bad performance, but because he proved last night he is not capable of even understanding the complex issues.
00:22:28.740 And the vote would be unanimous, of course.
00:22:30.820 But the reality is, this is a danger to the future of the United States.
00:22:34.840 We're more vulnerable than we have ever been.
00:22:37.080 Our homeland right now, Glenn, is more vulnerable than it's ever been in my lifetime to attacks of various kinds,
00:22:43.220 from missile to super-IMP to cyber to what's happening even at our southern border.
00:22:47.380 But the fact of the matter is, whether you're a Democrat or Republican, you ought to find it frightening if there's somebody who looked like he came straight out of a nursing home for the debate,
00:22:56.260 responsible for not only the nuclear codes, but our own national defense.
00:22:59.900 And I say that speaking not as a Republican or as a partisan, but just as an American.
00:23:04.220 I think that's a sad day for the country, and I think it's why so many people at home were left saddened by what they saw.
00:23:10.080 I mean, if you didn't care about the country, all you'd be talking about was, this was fantastic for Donald Trump last night.
00:23:16.800 Because this is guaranteed, if he's the candidate, it's guaranteed that Donald Trump will win in November.
00:23:24.580 But that's not good for the country.
00:23:27.020 And I don't want Biden to be replaced, because they might find somebody that, I don't know who they could find, Gavin Newsom.
00:23:33.940 I can't imagine any of these people winning, but they could go to somebody like Michelle Obama, which would be an absolute disaster.
00:23:42.880 But let me go now to politics.
00:23:45.420 I thought Donald Trump did the best debate and was the most disciplined, at least for the first 70 minutes, that I've ever seen him.
00:23:58.160 I mean, I thought he did a remarkable job.
00:24:01.260 Right, and I think the first half is what defined the course of the debate, and he nailed it.
00:24:05.280 I do think one thing towards the end, also, to give him credit for one piece of the second half, which I loved,
00:24:09.520 was that piece at the end where he authentically said it and meant it, and it came across as authentic.
00:24:15.540 Yes.
00:24:16.020 That he wanted Biden to be a good president.
00:24:18.480 Yes.
00:24:19.000 That he didn't have to be putting himself through this.
00:24:20.860 Everybody in the country and everybody in the world knows he wouldn't be charged with everything he's being charged with
00:24:26.720 unless he was running for U.S. president.
00:24:28.660 He lives a good life without going into this.
00:24:30.920 And something, as an outsider, I'm empathetic to deeply.
00:24:33.840 Business owners across this country are empathetic to deeply.
00:24:36.920 You don't have to put yourself through this kind of suffering.
00:24:40.940 And Donald Trump said that through the camera to the audience last night.
00:24:44.240 I think everyone at home believed him because it was just credible.
00:24:46.960 It was authentic.
00:24:47.560 It was true.
00:24:48.760 And I think that also goes to the point that you made, Glenn, which is this isn't even a partisan point.
00:24:52.700 Even Donald Trump and every one of us would love for Joe Biden to be and have been a great president, but he's not.
00:24:59.440 And I think that that authentic delivery, I thought that was one of the nicer pieces of Donald Trump's debate performance last night that others haven't really appreciated maybe quite as much.
00:25:10.700 I think that actually converted a lot of independent-minded people who were watching that late into the debate.
00:25:15.620 I was on Donald Trump Jr.'s podcast triggered yesterday with him, and we started talking about the economy.
00:25:25.220 And I said, you know, I'm not a billionaire.
00:25:29.040 You are.
00:25:30.840 But I'm not hurting.
00:25:34.040 My family's not starving for cash.
00:25:36.620 Vivek, you're not starving for cash.
00:25:38.800 But if you ever go through a drive-thru, the first thing that I think of, the first thing Don Jr. told me he thought of, and I bet it's with you, is how is the average person surviving this?
00:25:53.040 You can't have two people going through for $35 for Happy Meals.
00:25:58.600 It's not sustainable.
00:26:00.300 And I thought Donald Trump did a good job last night, and he should be recognized as a billionaire who actually does – because he goes through the drive-thru, and he doesn't have to care.
00:26:15.200 But he does think, how are people doing this?
00:26:18.800 And the reality is if people like you or me or Trump have sticker shock, imagine the effect that has on American Americans who are showing up in a grocery store and paying bills they've never seen.
00:26:30.500 But at a moment, here's the key part of this.
00:26:33.120 Talk about inflation.
00:26:34.120 Their wages have not gone up to keep up with that inflation.
00:26:37.960 And I think it's the double whammy that people feel at home.
00:26:41.200 And that's also why people are having fewer children right now.
00:26:43.760 A big reason why many families are choosing to bring fewer children into the world and into this country is because they feel like they can't have the economic stability to do it.
00:26:54.120 So that economic risk is now actually feeding.
00:26:56.760 And I don't mean to be hyperbolic about it.
00:26:58.640 It's just true.
00:26:59.180 We do have a repopulation problem.
00:27:01.520 We have a fertility rate problem in this country.
00:27:03.360 But those aren't abstract questions.
00:27:05.760 They're directly related to the government policies, including those that have given us the flailing economy of the last few years.
00:27:12.540 And this economy, it is a moral issue for that reason.
00:27:15.940 It's not just a money issue.
00:27:17.540 It is a moral issue of a political class that has really spat in the face of the very people they're supposed to serve.
00:27:25.720 And the most beautiful part about this, Glenn, is it is solvable.
00:27:28.940 You know, Joe Biden's approach is vengeance towards the ultra successful.
00:27:32.960 Donald Trump is part of the ultra successful, and he doesn't exhibit vengeance towards them.
00:27:37.060 But I think many Americans understand that what I love about Trump is even though he succeeds, I don't have to begrudge him for that success.
00:27:43.280 To the contrary, he has the skills that allowed him to succeed as an entrepreneur and as an independent voice outside of politics to help me through politics as well.
00:27:53.160 It's what got him there the first time, and I think it's what's going to get him there again.
00:27:56.140 So Donald Trump believes that there is such a thing as good debt.
00:28:00.640 I believe there's good debt as well.
00:28:02.700 If you're spending money to make money and you are growing your business, you're fine.
00:28:09.600 So, you know, that's why some theory is that you can have a healthy amount of debt.
00:28:15.060 But the debt that we're acquiring now, tell me, Vivek, can you name one thing that we have besides seven EVs, charging stations around the country?
00:28:27.880 Can you tell me what we have that's an asset with all of the debt that we've racked up over the four years?
00:28:37.240 Well, I obviously don't think the national debt should be zero, but it's at $34 trillion and growing.
00:28:43.280 We're on track for the interest payments on that debt to be the largest line item on our federal budget.
00:28:50.520 So just to draw the individual analogy, you know, do you have a loan on your car?
00:28:53.540 Do you have a loan on your house?
00:28:54.620 It's one thing.
00:28:55.460 If the interest payments that you're making on your loans are the largest item that you or your family spend on, that's not sustainable for your family in the same way that it's not sustainable for our nation.
00:29:06.000 That's the way to think about the size of this problem.
00:29:07.880 And the worst thing of all is, to your point, are we actually spending it on things that increase our prosperity, increase the quality of life for our people?
00:29:15.840 No.
00:29:16.260 It is in the name of this Green New Deal, a climate change agenda that I've said it before and I'll say it again, a climate change agenda that absolutely is a hoax, that ultimately has nothing to do with the climate and everything to do with letting China catch up to and supersede the United States, because they're not tying their hands with the same constraint that the United States is adopting on its own.
00:29:36.620 And I thought Donald Trump did a great job last night not falling for that climate change question, coming out and saying that we do stand for clean air and clean water.
00:29:45.240 That, too, is part of America First, but not bending the need of some global climate religion that's adding to our national debt.
00:29:51.780 So, Vivek, you're a businessman.
00:29:53.900 How does Donald Trump turn this economy around?
00:30:01.700 Because we are just on the precipice.
00:30:05.240 He is going to have to do tax cuts, and he is also going to have to probably spend money and just cut regulation.
00:30:13.320 Is that enough to turn this around?
00:30:16.100 It's a big first step, and I'll tell you there's more we can do, too, but cutting those regulations is not an understatement in its impact.
00:30:23.380 Oh, I know, I know.
00:30:24.100 We have a regulatory state that has expanded far beyond the scope of what our founders envisioned, and it is at once a threat to our constitutional republic, where the people we elect to run the government, they're not the ones writing the rules anymore.
00:30:35.780 Not only is that an affront to our Constitution, it's also an affront to our economy.
00:30:40.900 And so that alone is going to unleash a new wave of just economic prosperity from rolling back the regulatory state alone.
00:30:48.900 Now, let's get more specific.
00:30:50.540 With respect to the debt, as well as economic growth, as well as inflation, there's one step that can take care of all three right at once.
00:30:56.800 Get the oil and gas out from underneath our ground and sell it and use that to buy down a big part of our national debt.
00:31:05.920 That's a triple whammy, Glenn.
00:31:07.280 First of all, you've increased the supply of energy.
00:31:09.060 That brings down cost, brings down inflation.
00:31:11.260 It delivers economic growth.
00:31:12.780 And even more importantly, that is a way that without touching Social Security, Medicare, or raising taxes, you can actually buy down our national debt, which then brings down the interest costs of those payments.
00:31:24.720 And I know Donald Trump is thinking exactly along those lines.
00:31:27.620 He's got the right vision.
00:31:28.940 It's not rocket science, right?
00:31:30.380 Rocket science is rocket science.
00:31:31.660 This is basic policy.
00:31:33.220 And yet, that level of common sense is actually what's missing in the policies that we're seeing today.
00:31:38.460 You're listening to the best of Glenn Beck.
00:31:41.340 Need a little more?
00:31:42.080 Check out the full show podcast.
00:31:45.260 I led the show today with the comment, you cannot think about politics right now.
00:31:52.740 Politics would say, we got to just let him go.
00:31:56.700 Let Joe Biden be the candidate.
00:32:00.160 But it's wrong for the country and dangerous.
00:32:03.720 Our enemies watched his performance last night.
00:32:06.860 And we are very vulnerable.
00:32:09.080 Just remember, constitutionally, only the Secretary of Defense, the guy who brought us, you know, all of our wonderful exits from Afghanistan and all of the great things our military has been doing lately.
00:32:23.840 Only he can advise the president if the football is needed.
00:32:30.020 Only he and the read Annie Jacobson's book, nuclear war.
00:32:35.760 There's no way this guy could handle it.
00:32:38.000 There's no way.
00:32:38.820 And we are we are insanely close to somebody doing something stupid.
00:32:47.140 We cannot have him as president.
00:32:49.080 Now, Chip Roy, I was glad to see this morning.
00:32:51.560 He's already on it.
00:32:53.020 And he is are you putting a bill through or are you just trying to gather people to encourage the 25th Amendment?
00:33:02.500 Good morning, Glenn.
00:33:03.620 Yeah, I mean, first of all, let me just co-sponsor everything you just said.
00:33:06.780 We all have our political biases.
00:33:08.940 I'm a strong supporter of President Trump.
00:33:11.160 I thought he did great last night in terms of laying out his views on the border and all these issues.
00:33:15.240 Obviously, those of us who follow politics have known that President Biden has been diminishing, that he has been demonstrating his clear incapacity and inability to carry out the powers and duties of the office.
00:33:26.980 I think last night it was on full display in a way that was much more apparent.
00:33:33.500 And to your point, it was a clearly demonstration, a clear demonstration to our enemies, you know, and the result of which is a weakened and endangered American people,
00:33:43.680 not just the nuclear football, not just the code, not just the decision making about those really perilous issues, but just things like handling the border and the extent to which people are coming in and killing Americans and the extent to which we're not pushing on Putin the right way.
00:33:57.320 We're getting into the risk of World War Three and Ukraine, the extent to which we're siding with the Palestinians over Israel.
00:34:02.920 All of these things are a direct consequence of his complete diminished capacity, which, again, was on full display last night.
00:34:09.060 So I am filing either today or early next week a very simple resolution that lays out those observations and then simply says that we're calling on the vice president of the United States to exercise her authority under Section 4 of the 25th Amendment of the Constitution to, you know, find that the president can no longer carry out the duties of the office.
00:34:30.520 And we believe that, you know, she can be in the cabinet to do that.
00:34:34.480 We believe that that's important.
00:34:36.100 And this is a nonpolitical statement.
00:34:38.600 I happen to believe that it is beneficial for us politically to be strong on standing up for the Constitution and defending the country and calling it like we see it.
00:34:49.940 And I think if the Democrats are going to go try to pull him down, they're going to do that anyway.
00:34:53.860 We should not view it through those lenses.
00:34:55.640 That is blindness.
00:34:57.080 I think we have seven months at least under this guy and a potential of longer.
00:35:02.080 If you let him run for reelection and he happens to win, you know, we can't allow that.
00:35:08.120 So I think President Trump is perfectly capable of defeating him or Kamala Harris or anyone else they want to throw up.
00:35:14.240 And I think we should right now focus on the fact he is unable to faithfully discharge the duties that he has been empowered to do as commander in chief.
00:35:23.060 You know, I think the political operatives on the left are so cynical and callous and, you know, power hungry that they won't understand that a lot of Americans on both sides of the aisle watched that last night and were frightened by what they saw.
00:35:43.780 But also sad, I did that.
00:35:47.460 That's a this was extraordinary to watch the president of the United States.
00:35:53.240 And I watched it last night.
00:35:54.540 I'm like, if he's declined this much since the State of the Union, what is he going to be like in November or January?
00:36:04.100 He's not going to be all there.
00:36:07.600 And what does that mean for us?
00:36:09.440 And look, I don't want for me personally, if I wanted to look at all of this politically, I would say, let him run, because Donald Trump, it will be such a massive victory for Donald Trump because nobody could vote for him.
00:36:26.940 And I think Kamala Harris, you know, is is not a rocket scientist.
00:36:32.900 And I disagree with her on almost everything.
00:36:36.720 And I don't want her to be president either.
00:36:39.440 But what I do know, it's bad for America if he continues another day.
00:36:46.000 It is bad for my children's safety and your children's safety.
00:36:50.760 But, you know, you everybody in the White House knew it.
00:36:53.860 His cabinet, they know about it.
00:36:55.920 And only Kamala Harris, who is unpopular in the White House, can instigate that.
00:37:01.600 And she has to then go to the cabinet and you have to what is it?
00:37:04.920 A majority of the cabinet has to say, yes, we agree with you.
00:37:10.520 Correct.
00:37:10.920 They're running the show there.
00:37:12.820 They're running the presidency.
00:37:14.820 Why would they give up that power?
00:37:16.200 Well, I mean, that's a very good point, which is, to some degree, the impetus behind my desire to put forward a resolution.
00:37:24.240 Now, look, there are questions about whether it's, you know, can be what we call privilege, whether I can even get a vote on it.
00:37:29.560 There's questions.
00:37:30.260 You know, I'll let the body kind of work its will a little bit.
00:37:32.580 I think it's important to file it.
00:37:33.940 I think it's important for at least one member of Congress, maybe others, to make the statement that we believe that the president is unfit to carry out the duties as commander-in-chief and to put pressure on them.
00:37:45.640 And, look, if they're going to be political and if they're going to rally around and say, hey, man, we're the cabinet secretaries.
00:37:50.220 We've got all the power now.
00:37:51.100 We're calling the shots.
00:37:52.280 The White House, you know, you know, politicals are all calling the shots and Biden's just going along for it.
00:37:57.260 If they're going to be that cynical, then that'll play out politically.
00:37:59.620 And I've done what I think I should do as a man and as an American and as a member of Congress and who has an oath under the Constitution.
00:38:06.960 If, you know, if not, you know, then fine.
00:38:09.860 If they go carry it out and they go proceed under the 25th, it's not like I'm going to be doing jumping jacks and, you know, jumping down excited about Kamala Harris being the one making decisions.
00:38:19.860 I mean, good grief.
00:38:20.800 You know, she's got massive deficiencies in terms of her capabilities and obviously her ideology.
00:38:28.300 But there is a clear distinction.
00:38:30.060 Right.
00:38:30.780 And the president is not even the president that he was when he was elected in 2020.
00:38:39.500 And, you know, I think that when we look at this as Americans, as you put it, Glenn, we have an obligation to make that clear.
00:38:46.580 But process wise, for your listeners, the way the 25th Amendment works, the vice president has to make the call to convene the cabinet.
00:38:54.400 A majority would then send a letter up to Congress and they would say, you know, we're assuming the duties.
00:39:00.060 The president can then respond and say, no, you're not.
00:39:02.400 I'm actually, you know, competent.
00:39:04.440 And, you know, basically challenge it.
00:39:06.420 Then the cabinet can come back and say, nope, you're not.
00:39:09.540 And then the Congress votes.
00:39:10.900 That's basically the way that works.
00:39:12.660 Congress can actually pass a law that would create a different body to do that.
00:39:15.820 We've never done that.
00:39:17.560 So I don't like that.
00:39:19.700 I don't like I you know, I like the way the 25th Amendment was written, but that assumes that you have Americans all that love country more than self in that cabinet.
00:39:33.720 And it has to come from the cabinet and the vice president that way.
00:39:37.000 Otherwise, you'll get, you know, the Republicans saying, well, that's another form of impeachment.
00:39:43.080 Let's get him on this or you'll have the Democrats doing that.
00:39:46.300 Somebody will will abuse this.
00:39:49.340 You know, you didn't expect that the cabinet would be full of people that were just so power hungry and really didn't respect the office of the president and real true, as they say, democracy or the republic.
00:40:07.040 You never expected that there would be a group of people that would do that.
00:40:11.780 But that's what they're doing right now.
00:40:13.540 If they don't stand up, is there any Democrat that would join you on this?
00:40:18.140 Because last night I heard, you know, even Joe Scarborough said today he's got to step down.
00:40:23.720 It is very clear and widespread when you have lost the New York Times, when you have lost Joe Scarborough, when you have lost Democratic pundits on CNN, when you're watching them, basically they were they actually went beyond crying and depression.
00:40:41.260 They went straight to real concern and what I believe actually is is opportunity.
00:40:48.280 I believe that Democrats have now known this for a long time.
00:40:52.200 They've been guilty of trying to hide it from the American people.
00:40:55.400 They've been using him as a puppet, as a Manchurian candidate to drive the radical agenda.
00:41:00.880 They've done that and on purpose and that now they saw that the gig was up, that Trump could win.
00:41:06.900 They were hoping they could keep the Manchurian candidate in place.
00:41:09.660 They panicked and they said, you know what?
00:41:12.080 But it was a controlled panic.
00:41:13.760 Let's do this.
00:41:14.700 Let's have an early debate.
00:41:15.940 We'll see how he performs.
00:41:17.140 He didn't perform.
00:41:18.360 Now they have what they need to try to push him aside and frankly, end run Kamala.
00:41:23.560 That's what I actually think.
00:41:24.880 I think part of this is trying to end run Kamala with someone that they can pass and sell.
00:41:30.700 Maybe it's a Gretchen Whitmer.
00:41:32.020 Maybe it's somebody else and come in and try to rally them around to come up and beat President Trump.
00:41:36.800 So for me, I think we have a constitutional duty to protect the Constitution.
00:41:41.060 He's incapable and he's president for at least four months.
00:41:43.900 I think we should force Democrats to own it and make a choice.
00:41:46.900 Do you agree?
00:41:47.760 Do you believe he's competent?
00:41:49.120 And number three, look, let's make him choose.
00:41:52.160 And if Kamala is going to exercise this, then she would become the president.
00:41:55.420 They've got to decide if they're going to rally around her or not or whether they try to end run her with someone else at the convention.
00:42:00.780 I think it puts them in a box and I don't think Kamala is the best candidate.
00:42:05.420 So, you know, we can see how it all plays out.
00:42:07.440 But our duty is to the Constitution first.
00:42:10.160 So, again, I go back to ask you, are you in Washington now?
00:42:13.900 Have you heard anybody that is talking on the other side about, hey, this is a real problem.
00:42:19.600 We've got to get serious about this.
00:42:20.960 Well, look, I don't want to, you know, break competences, but I've definitively had conversations with some of my Democrat colleagues and others, and they have very real concerns.
00:42:31.100 People that wouldn't ordinarily say it have very real concerns.
00:42:35.220 And, look, I just saw something out on social media.
00:42:37.860 You take it for what it's worth.
00:42:39.480 With someone saying that they're hearing that Ron Klain and Barack Obama are having a sit down with the president today.
00:42:44.500 Jill Biden is the one that is saying that she insists that he runs and that Kamala is furious she's not being considered as a replacement.
00:42:52.760 Whitmer and Newsom are.
00:42:55.720 Who knows?
00:42:56.240 That's crazy.
00:42:57.480 Jill Biden is the one that's trying to hold him up.
00:43:00.500 And Biden is himself arrogant, and he doesn't even know what's going on.
00:43:04.040 So, you know, if they're going to rely on Biden to step down at the convention, then that may not even happen.
00:43:10.260 But maybe that's good electorally for Republicans and for President Trump and for us to take our country back.
00:43:17.420 And, look, I'm willing to entertain that notion, but I still think we have a duty right now.
00:43:22.060 The guy has a nuclear code.
00:43:23.900 He should not be commander-in-chief right this second.
00:43:27.240 Every second is the second in which we're in danger.
00:43:30.660 You're exactly right.
00:43:31.680 Chip Roy, thank you so much.
00:43:33.040 Appreciate it.
00:43:33.820 God bless.
00:43:34.320 Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.
