00:06:52.900 So what you're trying to do from the point of view, let's take it from the point of view

00:06:56.880 of, let's say, the State Department, the intelligence community, the Defense Department,

00:07:00.960 and major corporations that have to do with international issues from arms trade to, oh, I don't know,

00:07:09.220 They have a series of agreements that are fragile and could be overturned if a president entered

00:07:18.440 the Oval Office who didn't agree with them in the mood of the country was, why do we pay

00:07:23.240 taxes into these structures?

00:07:25.820 Why aren't we a free people?

00:07:28.060 So what the two parties would do is that they would run primaries.

00:07:31.320 You have populist candidates and you'd pre-commit the populist candidates to support the candidates

00:07:39.460 As long as that took place and you had two candidates that were both acceptable to the

00:07:45.240 international order, that is, that they aren't going to rethink NAFTA or NATO or what have

00:07:48.860 you, we called that democracy.

00:07:52.920 And so democracy was the illusion of choice, what's called magician's choice, where the choice

00:07:57.660 is not actually, you know, pick a card, any card, but somehow the magician makes sure that

00:08:01.520 the card that you pick is the one that he knows.

00:08:04.560 In that situation, you have magician's choice in the primaries, and then you'd have the duopoly

00:08:09.860 field, two candidates, either of which was acceptable, and you could actually afford to hold an election.

00:08:15.160 And the populists would vote, and that way the international order wasn't put at risk every

00:08:20.240 four years because you can't have alliances that are subject to the whim of, um, the people

00:08:27.260 in plebiscites.

00:08:29.660 So under that structure, everything was going fine until 2016.

00:08:34.080 And then the first candidate ever to not hold, um, any position in the military nor position

00:08:40.720 in government, uh, in the history of the Republic to enter the Oval Office, Donald Trump broke

00:08:45.860 So then there was a full court press, okay, we only have one candidate that's acceptable

00:08:51.540 Donald Trump will be under, um, constant pressure that he's a loser, he's a wild man, he's an idiot,

01:28:41.280 She wants price controls, which is communist, and unrealized gain taxes on these, which means clearly if your house goes up, let's say your house goes up $100,000,

01:29:36.540 According to an estimate on Zillow, according to the IRS, according to a council that includes AOC and Kamala Harris, that is part of the issue.

01:29:53.520 Things change, and that means it can go up and go down.

01:30:42.180 Do you sell your house so you can pay that gain?

01:30:45.100 You will sell stuff to be able to afford the taxes, which in the end means you will own nothing.

01:30:53.220 Yes, and who's going to come in and swoop in and buy that home that you have to put up for sale?

01:31:00.460 It's going to be Wall Street who has gotten into the home buying game.

01:31:03.680 This didn't exist before 2010, and now with all of the free money they had access to for almost 15 years, they're flush with cash.

01:31:14.320 They don't need to get the financing terms.

01:31:16.560 We know that they continue to buy a substantial portion of all the new homes that are listed, and more and more of those homes are going to be rented and not owned, which, by the way, is the biggest asset on Americans' balance sheets.

01:31:32.000 So we have, you know, I don't know if you saw this.

01:31:35.740 I sent it to you, the unrealized gains and losses on investment securities.

01:31:41.320 And, again, this doesn't mean anything at this point because they're not going to be taxed on it, and, you know, they don't have to cough up more money because of it.

01:31:57.460 So these are the things the banks are holding on.

01:32:00.600 They're buying up mortgages and everything else.

01:32:02.740 If you look at this chart, we were about $75 billion in the hole during the 08 financial crisis.

01:32:12.720 This one is showing that we are 675, worst case scenario, $675 billion in the hole on some of these banks.

01:32:26.020 Now, again, it doesn't mean anything unless there's a run on the bank and they have to start selling stuff.

01:32:31.700 It's a collapse potentially much bigger than 08, correct?

01:32:38.380 So, yes.

01:32:39.080 So I think the important thing to realize is this is definitely not great, but it's not meant to panic anyone yet.

01:32:46.420 So it's something we need to pay attention to, right?

01:32:48.380 So like you said, just like the unrealized gains that you could be taxed on, any sort of unrealized losses are still unrealized.

01:32:55.160 And what happened, as we know, and we talked about this back, I think it was, is it last March that Silicon Valley Bank collapsed?

01:33:01.780 I think it was.

01:33:02.380 It feels like it was 900 years ago, but I think it was March of 2023.

01:33:06.740 Basically what happened is during the easy money period, you had all of this money sloshing around in the system.

01:33:12.700 And what happened, people went to deposit that in banks and banks didn't have enough places to lend to.

01:33:19.060 So they made some loans, but what they did is they decided to park the rest of that in securities.

01:33:23.800 And so they bought a lot of treasuries and mortgage-backed securities.

01:33:27.760 The challenge, as we have seen, right, I mean, that's what's considered the quote-unquote safe security.

01:33:33.680 So we'll just play along with that for now.

01:33:36.280 What we know about bonds is that they trade in absolute inverse, kind of like a seesaw to their interest rates and to their yields.

01:33:46.240 So think about if a bond price goes up, that means the interest rate's gone down.

01:33:50.280 If interest rates go up, the bond price goes down.

01:33:53.160 So what happened?

01:33:54.080 We had all of these banks that bought in on these bonds, and then interest rates went up and up and up.

01:34:00.700 So like with our seesaw, if the interest rates go up, what happens to their bond prices?

01:34:04.880 They go down.

01:34:05.700 It goes down.

01:34:06.040 So when we report that, when the banks report that, which they're required to do, so that you can see in that chart,

01:34:12.200 that shows that if they had to sell them all today based on today's value, that they would have to sell them at a massive loss.

01:34:20.180 But again, that's unrealized.

01:34:21.660 So what could happen in the interim?

01:34:23.500 One is that they hold them to maturity, which is what they're probably going to do.

01:34:27.940 Or if interest rates come back down, which we know we're in the process, theoretically, of seeing those come back down soon,

01:34:37.120 that also that you're going to see that loss narrow, right, as it gets closer to the price that they paid.

01:34:43.340 So you're going to see that shrink.

01:34:45.700 The wild card here, and this is what happened with Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank and the like,

01:34:52.260 is if there's something that requires them to make the sale, if there is a bank run, if they have to fill deposits and they're not able to and they have to tap that.

01:35:02.420 Now, the Federal Reserve has been doing everything in their power to backstop this, to make sure this is not an issue.

01:35:09.560 And there are certainly plenty of other issues in the banking system, like commercial real estate, like loans to hedge funds and the like.

01:35:16.100 But this is what that chart shows, that if things were to get sideways, boy, there is a lot of exposure that could really impact the banking system.

01:35:26.420 So as we said, this is not a good situation, but unless there is the catalyst, it doesn't become the catastrophic situation that it might look like from looking at the chart.

01:35:36.160 So I always remember my grandfather, who lived through the Great Depression, saying if we only would have known what the rich people knew, maybe we would have been able to weather it much better, because they had made moves in advance.

01:35:48.140 I will note here that Warren Buffett, through Berkshire Hathaway, has been selling their Bank of America stocks, liquidating that.

01:35:59.460 Correct.

01:36:00.240 Yeah, Jamie Dimon is also liquidating.

01:36:03.900 You never want to see somebody who's the head of a corporation start to liquidate.

01:36:08.020 What do you know that everybody else doesn't know?

01:36:11.860 So there are a couple of theories there.

01:36:15.380 So with Warren Buffett, he made a big bet on Bank of America and got some special securities.

01:36:22.220 And certainly he is telling us, at a minimum, that from a price standpoint, he doesn't see the risk-reward there.

01:36:28.980 Whether or not that's something deeper, we don't know.

01:36:31.500 So Jamie Dimon, who has kind of hinted that maybe he is going to retire within the next five years and do something else, he's saying that that goes along with it.

01:36:41.580 But I do pay attention to these signals.

01:36:44.460 So if we start seeing more of these signals, again, we should have the antenna up.

01:36:48.820 But either way, we know what the fiscal foundation is like.

01:36:52.780 We know that there are all these cracks in the system.

01:36:54.680 And so everybody should be diversified and protected as much as possible in their own portfolios.

01:37:00.340 So yesterday, the White House came out and said that your grocery prices have gone down.

01:37:06.540 Your grocery prices have not gone down.

01:37:09.700 And then they tried to get away with saying, well, she was just talking about the inflation rate has gone down.

01:40:10.180 So there are two things that have been going on.

01:40:12.640 One is through the OECD, the Organization for Economic Cooperative Development.

01:40:17.940 And this is a group that, you know, it started actually at a predecessor.

01:40:24.600 It was supposed to be, how do we rebuild Europe after World War II?

01:40:28.020 We're going to help, you know, distribute the funds from Canada and the U.S.

01:40:31.420 And then it morphed into, you know, this advisory.

01:40:34.140 And now, you know, it's gotten completely out of control.

01:40:37.580 And, you know, they have been saying, well, it's not fair that we have, you know, competition

01:40:41.880 amongst tax rates in different jurisdictions, right?

01:40:45.040 You know, why should a company that's multinational be able to domicile themselves in Ireland and

01:40:50.820 pay a lower tax rate?

01:40:51.880 We need to have a global tax cartel.

01:40:54.700 And Janet Yellen thinks that this is just a fantastic idea and has been leading the charge,

01:40:59.680 you know, for the last several years on trying to get this done, which would basically set

01:41:05.700 not only a global minimum tax, but maybe some other rules on how different countries could

01:41:11.760 tax companies, not based on where their headquarters are, but based on where they're selling.

01:41:17.380 So if you're selling into China or if you're selling into Europe, that that's where

01:41:21.880 the tax taxes would be garnered, which again, from a sovereign country standpoint, why would

01:41:29.020 you want to do this?

01:41:29.980 It begs the question for me, is this stupidity, you know, like the, like when we walked the

01:41:35.600 Chinese into the World Trade Organization, is this the fact that we have communists, you

01:41:40.980 know, in our government that are trying to destroy America, or is it maybe some of all

01:41:45.280 of the above, right?

01:41:46.200 So, you know, pick your poison here.

01:41:48.940 What has happened is that the OECD and, you know, the, the pillars that you've talked

01:41:53.960 about, the different, you know, things that they're trying to accomplish, they have blown

01:41:57.500 past their set deadlines.

01:41:59.080 They have not been able to figure this out.

01:42:01.360 So who has decided that they want to step in and try to make this a reality?

01:42:07.380 The United Nations, good old United Nations that, you know, don't have their hands in enough,

01:42:12.580 yeah, and enough evil things.

01:42:15.040 And so they want to be able to take over this concept and sort of take it to the next level

01:42:21.200 and have by majority vote, majority vote, say that we can set taxes in basically anywhere,

01:42:30.560 even though it's not, you know, our country that we're, we're doing, we're levying those

01:42:35.040 taxes on.

01:42:35.700 So you could have China decide, oh, we're going to tax all of these American companies

01:42:40.320 and go after the, you know, the profits that we have in our highly profitable United States

01:42:47.520 And for some reason, you know, the United States who funds the UN, right?

01:42:52.480 We fund 22% of sort of their main budget and 27% of the peacekeeping budget.

01:42:58.780 You know, we are funding all of the insanity that comes out of the UN.

01:43:05.360 It's time to get out of this, you know, global mess and global cartel and to go back to being

01:43:12.040 a sovereign nation.

01:43:13.100 And they want to completely throw that sovereignty away and have all of these other entities be

01:43:19.260 able to tax and basically steal all of the profits that are coming from the most profitable

01:43:25.600 multinational corporations in the United States, which by the way, are, you know, of the biggest

01:43:35.140 There's a couple of energy companies and a couple of other companies that are in that

01:43:38.480 set.

01:43:38.760 But basically every large profitable company in the world is an American company and they

01:43:44.320 want to be able to raid that for their own benefit and steal that from the American people.

01:43:50.040 And again, I just want to point out, it's the UN now that has taken this, but it is the

01:50:48.420 Before that, she served for years in senior positions for Andrew Cuomo.

01:50:53.800 She was his chief deputy chief diversity officer, for example.

01:50:59.280 And essentially what she's being charged with in a 60-page indictment is getting millions of dollars

01:51:04.600 from the Chinese government and from the CCP.

01:51:08.160 And she took her position and used it for the benefit of China.

01:51:14.340 So, for example, she blocked representatives from the Taiwanese government

01:51:18.760 from even having access to the governor's office.

01:51:23.520 She altered state messages that were important to Chinese officials.

01:51:28.340 So she'd literally change a message to benefit them.

01:51:32.600 She also helped Chinese officials travel to the United States.

01:51:35.860 She issued unauthorized invitations that weren't approved by anyone else

01:51:40.480 that allowed government officials to come into the United States.

01:51:43.720 And she gave Chinese officials access to private New York government conversations

01:51:49.320 during the COVID-19 crisis, explaining how they were going to respond.

01:51:54.920 She would actually patch them in on these group, high-level group telephone calls.

01:52:01.440 And in exchange for that, according to prosecutors,

01:52:05.160 she received a lot of benefits from the Chinese government.

01:52:08.800 She was able to buy a $4.1 million Long Island home,

01:52:12.120 a $2.1 million condo in Hawaii.

01:52:15.360 She and her husband also bought a 2024 Ferrari Roma.

01:52:20.480 And I guess maybe my personal favorites is Glenn.

01:52:22.720 She's also accused of getting 16 meals that were prepared by a Chinese government chef.

01:52:29.020 They were Nanjing-style salted duck, which was good to me.

01:52:34.380 Yeah, I mean, it changes.

01:52:35.480 You know, once you hear the salted duck thing,

01:52:37.320 that she got 16 of them, you think, well, you know, maybe, maybe it changes things dramatically.

01:52:44.480 Why did it take so long for this to become a parent?

01:52:51.200 Well, her husband, her husband, yeah, her husband in New York ran a sort of export-import business,

01:52:57.760 But the other thing, Glenn, is that she apparently, according to the indictment, think about this,

01:53:04.600 she's a senior state official for Andrew Cuomo and the current governor of New York.

01:53:08.720 She apparently ran her own business in China, in mainland China, which is where she was born.

01:53:14.980 She's a naturalized U.S. citizen.

01:53:16.740 But she actually had a business in China that nobody knew about it.

01:53:20.560 And the Chinese government also apparently gave her cousin a cushy job.

01:53:26.120 That is mentioned among the indictments as well.

01:53:42.060 And look, this is something you and I have been talking about since 2018.

01:53:48.960 And that is that they have avoided really enforcing the Foreign Agents Registration Act,

01:53:57.340 which requires if you do anything to benefit a foreign government or a foreign government-linked business,

01:54:08.360 And they didn't really support this law at all.

01:54:12.320 And then, of course, they've used it against various Republicans, which, you know, look, if they're guilty of it,

01:54:17.120 they're guilty of it.

01:54:23.260 And, of course, there is that, I think, strong case for these same violations that took place by Hunter Biden.

01:55:50.260 You know, the the reminder here is that we don't want to be optimistic because you're naive, but you don't want to be pessimistic because then you just give up all hope.

01:55:59.660 And the bottom line is I do think that that, look, there are people around Trump that that have Chinese connections, but there are also people around Trump that recognize this problem.

01:56:12.980 When you look at Kamala Harris and Tim Walls, I mean, Tim Walls does not get did not get money from the Chinese, but he fits the definition of a fellow traveler.

01:56:23.660 And my fear is that with him as vice president, because he's had exchange programs with China for 30 years, they'll make him the point person on China policy.

01:56:34.000 And then, God forbid, I think we're going to be in deep trouble.

01:56:39.820 Peter, when you look at everything that is going on and what they are now admitting to and saying, you know, we're going to do price controls, we're going to do unrealized gains tax, you know, their stance on war, their stance on everything.

01:57:12.240 And we're involved with it in England and in Brazil, there's no way that Donald Trump, that they could allow him to win because he really is the only thing standing in the way of all of these very nefarious plans.

01:57:29.680 Yeah, I mean, this is the weird place that we are in America, Glenn, where you have, you know, Donald Trump, who sort of breaks all molds.

01:57:41.360 And one of the people that's vigorously supporting him is Robert Kennedy Jr., who also breaks a lot of molds.

01:57:47.440 And they will disagree on certain policy positions, but the point is they recognize the essential problem.

01:57:55.400 And the essential problem is this desire for control and dominance, where the left has essentially been fused with corporate America.
