00:00:00.000 The Fusion of Entertainment and Enlightenment. This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:00:08.060 Welcome. It's Stu in for Glenn Beck, who is currently off today. He is doing his charity work as he helps declaw mice for scientific experiments.
00:00:20.800 He's been doing this for a long time. I'm sure you've heard him talk about it before. We'll get into that in a little bit. He's back on Monday.
00:00:25.660 We have some big news about the economy as the the economy added two hundred and twenty four thousand jobs.
00:00:31.920 This news is coming out. The unemployment rate is at three point seven percent, three point seven percent.
00:00:38.480 It is insane. Lowest in, you know, what, four decades. We'll get into that and a lot more in just one minute.
00:00:48.480 This is the Glenn Beck Program. If you've been thinking about your home security, I've talked about simply save home security for years now.
00:00:55.560 Incredible protection, intuitive, thoughtful design, fair, reasonable prices.
00:01:00.860 But right now, in honor of Fourth of July, we've worked together with Simply Safe to put together a great offer for fans of this show.
00:01:07.420 Fifteen percent off your system, plus a free HD camera.
00:01:11.860 The system has everything. The entry sensors, the motion sensors, glass break sensors, security camera, everything you need to stop criminals from touching your home.
00:01:20.400 Simply Safe won CNET's editor's choice for home security.
00:01:23.780 PC Magazine's editor's choice wire cutter calls it the best home security.
00:01:28.260 You can install it yourself and monitoring is still fifteen dollars a month.
00:01:31.940 This is an incredible deal and an incredible system.
00:01:34.800 Go to simply safe back dot com right now.
00:01:37.400 You're going to get fifteen percent off your system, plus a free HD security camera.
00:01:42.620 That's a hundred dollar value in the camera alone.
00:01:44.580 It's simply safe back dot com. Fifteen percent off now at simply safe back dot com.
00:02:00.520 Well, Independence Independence Day is over and now we've moved on to Dependence Day.
00:02:04.800 Now we can get rid of all that independence, that ugly independence that America wanted for so long and we can move on to Dependence Day.
00:02:15.620 I don't know if you're looking at the 2020 race at all, but that is essentially what the Democrats are offering right now is one giant Dependence Day party.
00:02:25.340 They want 364 days of dependence to not be enough.
00:02:29.040 They want to take over July 4th, too.
00:02:30.480 I'm pretty sure. And every single policy they're offering goes down this road.
00:02:36.420 This is, of course, a country, as you may have noted when you were looking at fireworks and eating hot dogs and throwing beer down your gullet.
00:02:46.660 That was kind of founded on the idea that maybe independence is kind of a good idea.
00:02:51.080 These are people, first of all, that came across an ocean and risked everything to form some sort of have some sort of option.
00:03:02.280 Right. Something different.
00:03:05.020 Lived under what was essentially, you know, it's like the long distance relationship of slavery.
00:03:10.520 They were under the nail of a king.
00:03:14.960 And what did they do?
00:03:16.880 They fought for their independence.
00:03:19.080 They wanted to show that, hey, you know what?
00:03:20.960 Maybe men can do this on their own.
00:03:23.140 Maybe we don't need a king deciding every little bit of our lives for us.
00:03:30.220 Maybe there's a different path here.
00:03:32.160 And as you celebrate Independence Day, you look now at what we're looking at with the 2020 candidates.
00:03:40.820 And I mean, it's it's unbelievable.
00:03:43.940 You know, there's so many times that you hear the left and right broken down in these ridiculous sort of terms, especially when they talk about the Nazis.
00:03:52.180 They're the right or the Nazis.
00:03:54.240 They're they they're fascists.
00:03:56.440 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said this the other day.
00:03:58.500 And this is we're moving towards fascism because of what this president is doing.
00:04:02.160 Um, it's an interesting idea because fascists were national socialists and, you know, national socialists very clearly.
00:04:10.840 And we went over this in a very extensive article on Glenn Beck dot com that you can you can check out.
00:04:15.440 National socialists were not just socialists in name only.
00:04:18.260 They meant it.
00:04:19.620 And of course they meant it.
00:04:21.120 Right.
00:04:21.240 You need a large government to be able to control a population.
00:04:25.340 If you're I mean, there's nothing consistent with American conservatism that has anything to do with what the Nazis did or any other.
00:04:32.160 A large government because what we did here was a limited government.
00:04:35.420 And that is what we argue for all the time as conservatives, as people who might lean libertarian.
00:04:41.700 You want the smallest government possible because, you know, what's great is not having to worry about electing the wrong person and having them clamp down in your society.
00:04:51.360 That's a great little option we've discovered here in the United States or at least had for a very long time.
00:04:57.720 We have limitations on what the government can do to us.
00:05:01.400 We've we don't you know, Barack Obama famously talked about our founding documents as a charter of negative liberties.
00:05:08.260 And he's right on that.
00:05:10.720 That's exactly what it is.
00:05:12.440 It is a it's a charter to say not what the government must do for you, but what the government can't do to you.
00:05:21.380 You have the right to come out and live your life as you see fit inside of very limited guidelines.
00:05:29.400 A limited government.
00:05:32.300 Conservatives, you know, love the Constitution.
00:05:34.480 We do want a government.
00:05:35.900 We're not anarchists.
00:05:37.520 But what we do look at is is maybe limiting the power of the government so that that government isn't making us dependent on it all the time.
00:05:46.020 But today is Dependence Day.
00:05:48.840 You look at what the left is doing right now as we get closer and closer to this election.
00:05:53.040 And somehow they have to come up with some way to paint the economy as poor.
00:05:58.540 With three point seven percent unemployment.
00:06:00.920 This is not going to be an easy argument for them.
00:06:04.760 You saw this happen in the debates if you were watching them.
00:06:07.360 And I hope you weren't because it was not not fun.
00:06:11.460 I don't know how many of these things I can take, to be honest.
00:06:13.800 I have a very limited capacity for this.
00:06:17.340 It's a very much a nails on a chalkboard situation.
00:06:21.760 But as you kind of go through this and you and you look at their proposals, you see what they're trying to do.
00:06:26.500 They asked them about, you know, what about the economy?
00:06:29.480 How do you get this to work for everyone?
00:06:31.080 And all of them unanimously said it's not working for people, even though 60 percent of Democrats say the economy is good.
00:06:40.160 60 percent of Democrats say the economy is good right now.
00:06:44.360 How do you fight back against that?
00:06:45.900 Well, the only thing you can do is try to create this utopia, right?
00:06:50.340 You try to come out and figure out a way to tell people that they can't do it on their own.
00:06:58.540 You're not independent.
00:06:59.820 You're dependent.
00:07:01.080 They don't want you to be independent.
00:07:03.000 They want you to be dependent on them, dependent on the government.
00:07:07.420 And why not launch it on July 5th?
00:07:09.460 I think it's the perfect time.
00:07:12.400 They want you to they want you to not be responsible.
00:07:17.200 They want them to be responsible.
00:07:18.680 And then, of course, once they're responsible, we know how that ends.
00:07:21.980 We'll get into the news from Venezuela today a little bit later in the program.
00:07:25.060 But when the government runs things and they can control the economy, every aspect of your life, things tend to go down a somewhat dark road.
00:07:37.700 But the left does not want you to be independent.
00:07:41.620 They want you to be dependent on them.
00:07:44.220 They're the only ones that can save you.
00:07:46.520 It's up to you to look to them to solve the problems in your life.
00:07:54.020 Every single day from the day you're born to the day you die, the government is there to take care of every single need.
00:08:01.280 That is the vision of the left in America right now.
00:08:05.660 And you're seeing it more and more as the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wing rises to power.
00:08:13.880 And look, it's not really a separate wing.
00:08:16.920 Instead of calling it the socialist wing, it should just be the honest wing.
00:08:21.200 Right.
00:08:21.420 I mean, we there's a difference between progressivism and socialism.
00:08:24.520 And it is speed.
00:08:28.220 That's it.
00:08:28.860 It's just speed.
00:08:30.440 You know, like people are like, oh, well, Joe Biden, he's a moderate.
00:08:32.700 Well, is he?
00:08:33.560 Is Joe Biden a moderate?
00:08:35.620 In what world is Joe Biden a moderate?
00:08:39.880 There are two places where Joe Biden is a moderate in the 2020 Democratic field and the Soviet Union in 1988.
00:08:46.840 That's those are the two moderate places for Joe Biden.
00:08:49.540 The guy was one of the he's that when he ran as for vice president, he was the first or second, I think, most liberal senator in the Senate.
00:08:58.060 He's not moderate.
00:08:59.220 This is not a moderate person.
00:09:01.820 Now, granted, Ocasio-Cortez is asking for more today.
00:09:06.880 But think about this.
00:09:08.020 Joe Biden came out in one of his first speeches and said what he wanted was free community college for every single American.
00:09:16.600 That's the moderate position in the Democratic Party.
00:09:20.920 John Delaney is another guy running for president.
00:09:23.180 You don't know that because you've never heard of him.
00:09:27.240 But he's been running since 2017 as a Democrat.
00:09:31.980 He's like he like predates the last election.
00:09:35.920 And he's the another moderate who wants to spend four trillion dollars on global warming.
00:09:43.180 That's moderate on the left.
00:09:46.040 Now, just saying you're against socialism makes you moderate and also gets you booed.
00:09:56.040 That is the world we're looking at right now.
00:10:01.040 We're to come back and look at some of these proposals here in just 60 seconds, because when you look at where the Democrats really want to go.
00:10:09.500 You know, it is terrifying.
00:10:12.520 It really it really is.
00:10:14.520 It's a totally different vision of America.
00:10:17.540 And what better day than July 5th to show the sort of black and white, the bright lines between where this country was, how it was founded and where the left wants to bring it.
00:10:30.960 We'll get to that in 60 seconds.
00:10:35.380 You're listening to Glenn Beck.

00:11:37.980 It's due in for Glenn Beck.
00:11:54.720 We're talking about the way the left is trying to take the country.
00:11:59.320 We just celebrated Independence Day.
00:12:01.120 But now it's okay for all of America to become dependent again.
00:12:04.800 Sure, you had that day with the fireworks and the hot dogs and the beer and the parties, and that was to celebrate what used to be, which was basically a racist thing.
00:12:14.900 It's a racist, terrible thing.
00:12:16.460 It's basically a thing that's victimized millions of people, billions across the globe.
00:12:20.420 And now we can kind of leave that behind and spend the next 364 days begging the government to do everything for us.
00:12:27.880 Isn't that a wonderful vision of the future?
00:12:30.860 Isn't it?
00:12:32.260 You had Independence Day, but now let's get a little more dependent.
00:12:36.900 Because they want you to be dependent on them for things like health care.
00:12:42.400 Your health is their responsibility, not yours.
00:12:46.260 They want you to be responsible for so little in your life.
00:12:53.060 It's going to be, you're going to need a search squad to go out and find something that you're supposed to do on your own.
00:12:58.520 I mean, you remember this vision of, what was it, Julia?
00:13:02.120 Do you remember the cartoon Julia from Barack Obama during the campaign?
00:13:06.260 I think it was 2012.
00:13:07.000 2012, and when she showed this woman going through her life, and she grew up, and she was, as a child, was given the free lunch.
00:13:13.640 She was given the child care program, and then she grew up to a teenager, and she got the free college and free tutoring.
00:13:22.360 And then she went up as an adult, and she got the free birth control, and she got all of that.
00:13:26.800 And that was the vision.
00:13:27.580 And then, of course, as she got older, and she lost her job, she got the unemployment.
00:13:31.200 And then as she got older than that, she got the free health care, and she got the Social Security and the Medicare.
00:13:38.000 And she went on and on and on, all the way till death.
00:13:40.660 And I think at the end of her life, as she sat in a coffin, a Democrat came by and threw some quarters at her or something.
00:13:48.540 She got something, even in death.
00:13:50.540 And this is the type of vision the left has for us.
00:13:55.980 You've got 25 candidates running.
00:13:58.960 If you happen to miss it, Joe Seastack is in the race now.
00:14:05.060 Former, I think, congressman, failed Senate candidate.
00:14:08.000 Why not jump in now and try to get into the race?
00:14:12.400 None of these people are even going to make the debates.
00:14:14.320 You're probably going to be down to about, I think you're going to be less than 10.
00:14:17.140 You have one more set of debates where most of these people are going to be in it, about 20 candidates.
00:14:21.420 And after that, it's going to get a lot more difficult.
00:14:24.060 But the left wants you to be dependent on them for everything.
00:14:28.440 They want you to be dependent on them to control the weather.
00:14:33.900 They want you to be dependent on them to control your health.
00:14:38.580 They want you to be dependent on them to have government insurance, not private insurance.
00:14:43.740 Private insurance should be illegal to several of these candidates.
00:14:50.440 They want you to leave your responsibility at the door.
00:14:55.680 Think about personal responsibility on July 4th.
00:14:58.560 We're on July 5th.
00:15:00.380 On July 5th, you should be dependent on the government to negotiate your wage.
00:15:05.900 Because you know what?
00:15:06.940 $15 an hour, is that even enough?
00:15:10.340 Is that even enough?
00:15:11.660 We need to get that minimum wage up a little bit higher.
00:15:13.740 And by the way, when we talk about minimum wage, let's not just talk about minimum wage.
00:15:16.940 Let's talk about maximum wage.
00:15:19.360 It's certainly not up to the shareholders to decide what the CEO of a company makes.
00:15:24.140 It's up to the government.
00:15:25.280 You need to be dependent on them to outline that.
00:15:28.880 And you need to be dependent on them to figure out how to take more from wealthy people.
00:15:34.880 70% income tax.
00:15:36.720 Sounds about right.
00:15:38.120 How about a wealth tax?
00:15:39.380 Can't we just dip into the stuff they already bought with money they were already taxed on?
00:15:43.340 Why not?
00:15:44.680 If you're going to be dependent on them, you should be dependent on them to make those decisions for you.
00:15:49.000 It's dependence day.
00:15:52.680 How about universal basic income?
00:15:56.220 Shouldn't we be dependent on the government to give us money for doing nothing?
00:16:00.800 Why do we have to do things to get things?
00:16:06.860 It's an interesting fundamental question.
00:16:10.120 That our country is seriously in the middle of trying to decide.
00:16:15.360 This is the United States of America and we're talking about getting paid for nothing.
00:16:21.740 You can't be independent.
00:16:25.340 You need to be dependent on the government for the care of your children after school.
00:16:31.300 How can you pay for daycare?
00:16:34.120 Daycare should be free.
00:16:35.480 How about when you need to leave?
00:16:39.520 What if you're sick?
00:16:40.640 What if you're having a baby?
00:16:42.300 What if you're having...
00:16:43.700 What if you're getting married?
00:16:45.460 Why don't we federally mandate paid sick leave and family time?
00:16:51.440 It's not up to you to negotiate that.
00:16:53.820 It's not up to you to be valuable enough at work so that your employer wants to keep you when you have these things pop up.
00:17:01.080 No, it's the government that should decide those things.
00:17:03.860 You should be dependent on them to take care of you.
00:17:09.100 You should be dependent on the government for free college tuition.
00:17:14.160 Because college tuition, certainly you're entering into an agreement to pay your college bills.
00:17:19.960 But how could you possibly have known what those bills are other than the number on the piece of paper that you signed?
00:17:27.280 And, you know, those things do beat you up.
00:17:29.020 I have relatives that have, you know, a lot of college debt.
00:17:32.700 It's not easy.
00:17:34.280 But, I mean, I wasn't the one telling people to go get lots of college debt.
00:17:37.740 That wasn't me.
00:17:38.900 Bernie Sanders said this the other day.
00:17:40.100 He's like, oh, well, we told everyone that we, you know, people need to go out and get college loans.
00:17:45.800 And then now they're killing people with these loans.
00:17:48.000 They're in too much debt.
00:17:49.300 Who was telling them?
00:17:51.000 It wasn't me telling people to go to college and spend $100,000 so they can turn into a socialist.
00:17:56.600 That wasn't my plan.
00:17:57.600 That wasn't my math.
00:18:01.280 That was yours.
00:18:02.700 And now, of course, because they've told everyone they have to go do that and it costs them a lot of money.
00:18:08.320 Now we're the ones responsible for paying that off.
00:18:12.100 And, by the way, we can't have, sure, college should be free in the future.
00:18:16.900 But what about the people who already paid for it?
00:18:19.120 What about, you know, people who have hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans?
00:18:23.860 Well, those should be paid off by, I guess, us?
00:18:27.060 Because we should be dependent on the government to take care of those loans.
00:18:30.880 Even if they're really rich people, according to Bernie Sanders.
00:18:33.440 Even people who have hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank.
00:18:36.240 Well, the government should step in and pay off their loans, too.
00:18:38.600 We should, of course, get the government to protect us from all these evil guns.
00:18:45.620 You know, guns can be used to kill.
00:18:47.640 They're designed to kill.
00:18:49.300 And that's why the government is here.
00:18:51.880 They're supposed to stop every single person from living in any sort of danger.
00:18:55.800 You can't have any danger in your life.
00:18:59.460 Of course, you also can't defend yourself from the people who don't follow their laws.
00:19:03.320 You know, the criminals who would use guns in a negative way.
00:19:09.040 You have to be dependent on the government to protect you on the internet.
00:19:14.420 You can't be expected to go on the internet and pick a provider
00:19:19.620 and have them have an agreement with you that you pay for.
00:19:24.540 No, no, we need net neutrality.
00:19:26.440 We need net neutrality to be there so that the government can step in
00:19:30.520 and you can be dependent on them to take care of you.
00:19:32.740 Because if that freaking episode of Stranger Things does not stream at the appropriate level,
00:19:41.840 if you're not getting 4K out of that thing, where's Uncle Sam?
00:19:45.840 If there was one thing the founders fought for, it was good streaming on Netflix.
00:19:50.560 I think we all can understand that.
00:19:54.540 We need to have the government there to enforce gender pronouns
00:19:59.360 because you can't be trusted to have an opinion on such a controversial issue.
00:20:06.960 We need to have the government there so we can be dependent on them
00:20:10.800 so that they can take money from people today
00:20:13.700 whose descendants didn't even have anything to do with slavery
00:20:17.120 to pay off other people that are minorities
00:20:20.280 because even though they also might not have had anything to do with slavery,
00:20:24.320 they may have been victimized in some sort of sideline way
00:20:29.980 and we should be held responsible for that.
00:20:34.580 The government is there
00:20:36.220 for you to be dependent on it.
00:20:39.880 And look, if you listen to the words of the founders,
00:20:44.440 the last thing they guaranteed was your freaking happiness.
00:20:48.380 They guaranteed your pursuit of it.
00:20:51.040 They guaranteed your right to go after the dream,
00:20:54.700 not to achieve it.
00:20:56.920 And that's been one of the strongest things about our country.
00:21:00.480 The fact that people always felt they needed to work their asses off
00:21:04.800 to get what they wanted,
00:21:06.040 to get what they needed to provide for their families.
00:21:09.360 When you step in and you say,
00:21:10.740 hey, here's a bunch of money for doing nothing,
00:21:13.820 you are upending the foundations of this country.
00:21:17.860 And every single candidate on the stage those two nights
00:21:21.100 and every single candidate you're going to see
00:21:22.980 to the end of this election on the left
00:21:24.380 is going to keep telling you those same things.
00:21:26.900 And we have to realize what a violation that is
00:21:30.280 of where we came from.
00:21:35.980 You're listening to Glenn Beck.
00:21:38.840 Wi-Fi is spelled W-I-F-I.
00:21:41.920 Unfortunately, for many people,
00:21:43.860 it also spells TMI, as in too much information.
00:21:47.900 Because Wi-Fi, whether public or right in your own home,
00:21:51.720 even if it's password protected,
00:21:54.020 isn't always private.
00:21:55.520 Cyber criminals can use Wi-Fi to steal information
00:21:58.760 that you send and receive while online,
00:22:01.200 whether that's credit card numbers,
00:22:03.080 account login information,
00:22:04.520 or your social security number.
00:22:06.160 To help put a stop to TMI on Wi-Fi,
00:22:09.060 you need Norton Secure VPN.
00:22:12.660 Norton Secure, a virtual private network.
00:22:15.620 Norton Secure VPN starts at $3.33 a month
00:22:18.380 with an annual subscription,

00:22:50.640 the average loss in burglary is about $2,000 or just above.
00:22:55.480 Now, that can be hard to recover from.
00:22:57.160 Even so, only one in five have home security.
00:23:00.040 And I think it's mainly because the security companies make it so hard to get security.

00:23:51.320 Welcome to the Glenn Beck Program.
00:23:52.660 It's Stu in for Glenn.
00:23:53.860 He is testing new flavors of Nutter Butters as part of his Nabisco internship.
00:23:57.340 He'll be back on Monday.
00:23:59.440 So Donald Trump yesterday did something I think was pretty amazing.
00:24:03.160 And I think I've never seen anything like it before, to be honest with you.
00:24:07.400 He had this big 4th of July festival in D.C.
00:24:12.480 And, you know, it was talked about quite a bit.
00:24:14.540 And that's not really the part that, you know, I mean,
00:24:16.300 we've seen things like this before.
00:24:18.640 What was amazing to me is Donald Trump somehow got the left to do two things
00:24:24.540 I've never seen it do.
00:24:25.940 Because they basically just came out and said,
00:24:28.120 the rain that was falling from the sky,
00:24:32.980 that was essentially God being mad at Donald Trump.
00:24:36.760 This is the analysis on social media.
00:24:43.120 And it kind of gets you to two things.
00:24:45.100 Number one, it's the first time they have ever blamed a weather event on something other than global warming.
00:24:51.540 Which is pretty cool.
00:24:52.940 That is step number one.
00:24:55.000 And then step number two, they seemingly now believe in God.
00:24:59.420 So Trump pulled off a couple of high hurdles there.
00:25:04.240 And you give him some credit for that.
00:25:05.520 But I guess not all patriotism is equal.
00:25:09.320 We're learning.
00:25:10.840 And this is, of course, true.
00:25:12.360 If you go to these festivals over the 4th of July, you have a variance.
00:25:17.400 Sometimes the fireworks, not so good.
00:25:19.540 Sometimes the bands that are there, eh, a little mediocre.
00:25:23.560 Sometimes you kind of wish you were anywhere else.
00:25:26.080 I know on New Year's Eve, I'm always happy to be in bed by like 10 p.m.
00:25:32.140 Because I live life like I, you know, live in an assisted living home.
00:25:37.280 That's kind of like where I want to be in life.
00:25:38.960 People are like, oh, people have to go in these assisted living homes.
00:25:41.300 I'm like, how do I get into one?
00:25:42.940 How old do I have to be?
00:25:44.640 This sounds amazing.
00:25:46.600 Assisted living?
00:25:48.160 Life is hard.
00:25:49.160 I want to be assisted.
00:25:51.480 But I want to be in bed basically as early as possible.
00:25:54.620 So these festivals, you know, I'm not, you know, I'm not a parade guy.
00:25:59.680 I, you know, there's something about parades that are not interesting to me.
00:26:05.560 You know, if you notice what they are, essentially it's just a bunch of people walking down the street.
00:26:09.840 Hey, the cars used to be there.
00:26:10.960 Now there's people.
00:26:11.800 That's not dynamic to me.
00:26:13.360 That's not dynamic entertainment.
00:26:15.420 I'd rather go another direction.
00:26:17.660 And then you usually have some singer who tries to do some patriotic song.
00:26:21.980 And, you know, it's not always great.
00:26:25.160 Let's be honest about it.
00:26:26.960 We've seen some of these national anthems get butchered before.
00:26:30.140 And, you know, there's a lot of different ways you can step into it when you're trying to be patriotic.
00:26:34.480 Most people appreciate the patriotism.
00:26:37.800 You know, unless you're Colin Kaepernick, you kind of like the flag.
00:26:40.860 You kind of like what America stands for.
00:26:43.080 Unless you happen to be on a democratic debate stage, you don't think the country is entirely evil.
00:26:48.320 So, you know, someone's trying to make an effort at the national anthem, you give them a break, right?
00:26:56.740 Typically, you're going to give them a break.
00:26:59.080 But sometimes it does step over that line.
00:27:01.880 I mean, if you go back, you know, a long time in history, here's an American hero, really.
00:27:06.980 An American sports hero, a guy who won a gold medal, you know, in the Olympics, multiple gold medals, Carl Lewis.
00:27:12.280 If you remember this, here's Carl Lewis attempting the national anthem.
00:27:18.780 All right, are we all ready?
00:27:20.560 Hmm, sure are.
00:27:22.180 Here we go.
00:27:23.820 Okay.
00:27:30.640 Okay, all right.
00:27:32.740 It's a little bit pitchy.
00:27:34.100 Oh, say can you see, and the rocket's red glare.
00:27:42.080 Ah, ah, no, uh-oh.
00:27:44.960 I'll make up for it now.
00:27:46.240 Okay.
00:27:46.820 He's going to make, keep, uh, here.
00:27:47.700 For the land of the free.
00:27:51.120 All right.
00:27:52.320 Don't even try it.
00:27:53.160 That's a good, that's a good thing, by the way.
00:27:54.480 When you're singing these songs and you realize you're not going to do it, don't try that last high note.
00:27:58.700 Go down on it as if that you were making an artistic choice.
00:28:01.300 That's, that's the way to do it.
00:28:03.840 But again, like Carl Lewis, he's an athlete, a great athlete, and really a legitimate American hero at that time.
00:28:12.840 And, eh, it was a little bit rough, but okay.
00:28:16.900 That is like the guy, there's a few different ways to screw this up.
00:28:19.700 Number one is guy who can't sing.
00:28:22.060 That person should not get the job in the first place.
00:28:24.040 I blame the arena.
00:28:25.700 Okay, if you can't sing, you shouldn't be out there singing the national anthem.
00:28:28.960 Okay.
00:28:29.180 Then you also have the, the classic over-sing.
00:28:34.500 Now this comes, uh, kind of specifically from a type of person who really can sing, but thinks for some reason the national anthem's about them,
00:28:43.440 so they have to over-sing so much and go so crazy with it to, like, I don't know, show their vocal abilities that it just does not work at all.
00:28:55.560 This is, uh, Cat DeLuna.
00:28:57.300 Listen to this.
00:28:57.720 Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, o'er the ramparts we watched.
00:29:17.040 Again, like, she sounds relatively good.
00:29:22.320 You get into that, grrrr, voice is a little bit overdone.
00:29:26.340 It's like when you, when you're, like, trying to embarrass your kids and you kind of over-sing the song.
00:29:32.540 She kind of sounded like that, except she has some ability, obviously.
00:29:35.180 Then you have the people who just remix it too much.
00:29:39.480 Like, the song is the song.
00:29:41.080 Okay?
00:29:41.960 I don't know what they're trying to do by remixing it and changing it up to some ridiculous level where it's almost unrecognizable.
00:29:48.440 I don't know why you do that.
00:29:50.120 It's the national anthem.
00:29:51.400 Sing the song.
00:29:53.100 You know, you really don't need to remix it.
00:29:55.720 Now, you look at the candidates on stage at a debate and you realize maybe they do want to remix what this country is.
00:30:02.960 I don't even know if they want the lyrics to be the same.
00:30:05.380 They want to completely go overboard.
00:30:07.700 But here's R. Kelly and he decided to go with such a ridiculous remix version of it.
00:30:15.500 It was almost unrecognizable.
00:30:17.020 Listen.
00:30:17.160 Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, what so proudly we had, by the twilight's last name.
00:30:36.220 I mean, does anyone like that?
00:30:41.940 That's like when you go to concerts and, you know, bands do this all the time.
00:30:46.280 You have a couple different kinds of bands.
00:30:48.220 You have bands where people are really into them and they have this big following and they, you know, people follow them around the country and they sell out tours for decades.
00:30:56.560 Those people go deep into album cuts.
00:30:59.080 They occasionally want a different version of whatever hit song the band is responsible for.
00:31:03.900 Then you have those bands that have, like, it's like Smash Mouth.
00:31:07.300 If Smash Mouth has, like, you know, two hits, if they come out and do a concert, like, you know, with violin and acoustics, you're not going to, I mean, you're there for the two, you want All Star.
00:31:20.080 Just sing All Star like All Star was when you sang the All Star.
00:31:23.600 Do that.
00:31:24.920 That's what you want.
00:31:25.560 And the National Anthem, I think, falls into the category of just play the song like the song is.
00:31:31.720 Can we not get that out of these artists?
00:31:36.220 But that's what you have.
00:31:37.180 You have the, you have kind of the person who can't sing.
00:31:39.700 Then you have the person who oversings.
00:31:41.180 Then you have the person who remixes.
00:31:42.740 Then you have the person who kind of combines all of this into one version where they're oversinging it and, you know, they're kind of trying to be too clever.
00:31:54.280 And you question at times whether they can actually sing at all.
00:31:57.820 Here's Fergie from 2018.
00:31:59.480 I mean, she can sing a little bit, right?
00:32:28.640 The bombs bursting in air
00:32:35.120 Gave through, through the night
00:32:40.700 What is crew?
00:32:42.800 That a flag was still there
00:32:48.960 Oh, say, does that star
00:32:55.040 The NBA players are trying so hard not to laugh.
00:32:58.640 Everyone laughing
00:33:15.620 Oh, here we go.
00:33:17.820 Big finale
00:33:18.380 In the home
00:33:24.860 Of the
00:33:28.860 Of the what?
00:33:34.360 Now
00:33:34.720 The best part of this one
00:33:37.100 And this is one that if you didn't see it in video form
00:33:40.980 Let's play some basketball!
00:33:42.720 Oh yeah, there we go. Let's play some basketball.
00:33:44.220 The best part about that one is, first of all, the visuals are fantastic
00:33:47.880 In that all the NBA players are trying so hard not to laugh.
00:33:52.940 And I will say the mean cameraman at ESPN who kept pointing the cameras at them
00:33:57.860 The appropriate thing to do in this moment was to point the cameras at the floor
00:34:01.220 And just hope that no one noticed.
00:34:03.560 But Fergie's trying to belt this thing out and she is way over singing it
00:34:08.080 And she's got some bizarre version
00:34:10.160 And the best part about that is just how much she thinks she's nailed it at the end
00:34:17.380 She is completely convinced
00:34:19.800 This is like a historic performance of the national anthem
00:34:23.300 That everyone's going to remember
00:34:24.360 And on that point, she's right
00:34:26.260 People do remember it
00:34:27.960 Perhaps for other reasons
00:34:29.960 That one is rough to watch
00:34:34.640 But
00:34:35.140 It's rough to hear as well
00:34:37.900 And then you have the classic
00:34:40.220 And I don't know why this one still occurs
00:34:42.940 The words to the national anthem are written down
00:34:46.720 In several places
00:34:47.600 You can get them on the internet
00:34:48.520 You can write them down in advance
00:34:50.480 You can get a teleprompter
00:34:52.080 You can do all sorts of things
00:34:53.860 To remember the words
00:34:55.380 And so often people forget the words
00:34:57.320 Now this particular version
00:34:59.500 I will give a little bit of a break to
00:35:03.000 Because I think she's Canadian
00:35:04.140 She's singing at a hockey game
00:35:06.380 And she's got to belt out both of them
00:35:08.400 Because you've got to do O Canada
00:35:09.360 At the hockey game as well
00:35:11.220 And if you think of yourself right now
00:35:12.940 When we go to commercial next time
00:35:14.360 Take a moment and try to sing O Canada
00:35:17.280 Without looking at the lyrics
00:35:18.400 You're going to kind of know
00:35:20.740 O Canada
00:35:21.800 My
00:35:22.560 Good and
00:35:24.900 Cold land
00:35:27.720 True
00:35:28.420 Or north
00:35:30.540 You're not going to know the words
00:35:31.800 You're going to kind of maybe remember it
00:35:33.640 Maybe
00:35:34.260 You watched a hockey game
00:35:36.460 And you kind of remember them singing it
00:35:38.740 You went to
00:35:39.480 You went to a Blue Jays game at some point
00:35:41.540 Or a Raptors game
00:35:42.840 It's possible you kind of know the tune
00:35:45.920 But
00:35:46.980 You can give a little bit of a break here
00:35:48.740 But here is
00:35:49.500 From a
00:35:50.060 From a hockey game
00:35:51.420 An attempt at what
00:35:53.120 Is known as
00:35:54.500 The U.S. National Anthem
00:35:56.160 At the twilight's
00:35:59.400 Levers gleaming
00:36:01.520 Whose broad stripes
00:36:03.300 And bright stars
00:36:05.800 Knew the
00:36:07.540 Paralyn night
00:36:09.980 Paralyn night
00:36:10.620 Yep
00:36:10.920 Or
00:36:12.240 Uh oh
00:36:13.860 It's
00:36:16.640 The Paralyn night though
00:36:19.660 Whose broad stripes
00:36:21.320 And bright stars
00:36:23.440 At the dawn's
00:36:26.460 Early light
00:36:27.960 Yes
00:36:28.340 That's part of
00:36:29.460 Yes
00:36:32.180 And the
00:36:32.960 Dawn
00:36:33.560 Light
00:36:34.100 Still
00:36:34.680 Leaving
00:36:35.560 Yep
00:36:36.440 And the
00:36:37.440 Right
00:36:38.120 Coming
00:36:38.720 Right
00:36:39.960 Uh oh
00:36:40.340 The bombs
00:36:41.160 Bursting
00:36:42.480 In air
00:36:43.340 Ah
00:36:43.580 Got that one
00:36:44.440 And
00:36:47.480 The
00:36:48.620 Man
00:36:49.480 Was
00:36:50.160 Still
00:36:50.700 There
00:36:51.580 Yes
00:36:51.880 That's right
00:36:52.240 Oh say
00:36:53.580 Does that
00:36:55.060 Star-spangled
00:36:56.460 Banner
00:36:58.260 Yet
00:36:59.620 Wave
00:37:01.760 O'er
00:37:02.860 The
00:37:03.120 Land
00:37:04.620 Of
00:37:05.160 The
00:37:05.540 Free
00:37:06.280 And
00:37:08.020 The
00:37:08.500 Home
00:37:09.700 Of
00:37:10.200 The
00:37:11.140 Brave
00:37:11.640 There we go
00:37:12.440 People know the end
00:37:14.280 People always know the end
00:37:16.460 And that's why it's a great song
00:37:18.640 Because if you can remember any part of it
00:37:21.460 It's the last couple of lines
00:37:22.660 That you can kind of
00:37:23.380 Kind of nail right at the end of it
00:37:25.980 Again she's Canadian
00:37:27.320 I mean what does she care
00:37:28.920 I don't care about
00:37:29.460 Oh Canada do you
00:37:30.280 I mean I certainly don't
00:37:33.020 They're fine people
00:37:34.480 But I don't need to know the words of their songs
00:37:36.380 I just would like them to be written down
00:37:38.720 If I'm singing it in front of 20,000 people
00:37:40.640 It's Stu in for Glenn on the Glenn Beck program
00:37:43.560 You're listening to Glenn Beck
00:37:46.580 Every two seconds

00:38:03.260 Applying for loans in your name
00:38:04.840 Even damaging your credit
00:38:06.180 The good credit you've worked so hard to build
00:38:08.620 Fortunately you could miss certain threats to your identity
00:38:11.280 Just by checking bank statements or monitoring your credit
00:38:13.960 That's why it's a good thing there is

00:38:57.360 So California had an earthquake yesterday
00:39:00.300 Pretty big one
00:39:00.900 6.4 or 6.6 was it
00:39:03.060 On the return sale
00:39:03.920 Did not luckily hit a highly populated area
00:39:06.860 So it was felt in a lot of highly populated areas
00:39:10.580 But did not cause tons of damage
00:39:12.640 I want to direct you though
00:39:13.800 To this clip from Fox Sports 1
00:39:15.520 Colin Coward
00:39:16.240 In the middle of a broadcast
00:39:18.280 The actual earthquake happens
00:39:21.020 And this is a professional broadcaster right here
00:39:24.280 This is how you do it
00:39:26.860 Colin Coward
00:39:28.200 In the middle of the broadcast
00:39:29.680 As he gets hit by an earthquake
00:39:32.080 They were 1-6 against winning teams last year
00:39:35.060 And suddenly they think
00:39:35.800 OBJ and Olivier Vernon
00:39:37.080 We are having an earthquake right now
00:39:40.180 Yeah, we are having an earthquake
00:39:42.420 In Los Angeles
00:39:48.260 Yeah
00:39:51.620 That was a big one
00:39:52.520 Yeah, we were pretty big
00:39:54.420 That was about 10 seconds
00:39:55.900 Of an earthquake in Los Angeles
00:39:57.240 I don't think it's done
00:39:58.520 I thought somebody was grabbing my desk
00:40:02.400 I've never been in an earthquake
00:40:04.100 Certainly not on the air
00:40:05.540 We'll take a break
00:40:07.500 We just have a little earthquake
00:40:11.460 Not that little
00:40:12.460 Nope
00:40:13.740 I get cut off at the end there
00:40:15.240 Because he goes into a live spot
00:40:17.000 He actually, in the middle of the earthquake
00:40:19.020 Gets right into the live spot at the end
00:40:21.720 That's solid work
00:40:23.040 That is how you do it
00:40:25.260 Colin Coward, nice work
00:40:26.680 In the middle of an earthquake
00:40:28.520 Keeping everything together
00:40:29.840 We come back in just a couple of minutes
00:40:31.440 We have a history lesson
00:40:32.860 For Colin Kaepernick
00:40:34.140 Who apparently is learning now
00:40:36.440 About Frederick Douglass
00:40:38.520 And isn't that just wonderful
00:40:41.720 American history on display
00:40:43.660 From the Nike spokesperson
00:40:45.500 Coming up
00:40:46.280 Thanks Jason
00:40:50.480 We have a lot of interesting stuff coming up
00:40:53.600 Including this new Colin Kaepernick thing
00:40:55.600 With Frederick Douglass
00:40:56.460 That you're going to adore
00:40:57.720 But first I want to tell you
00:40:59.160 About American financing
00:41:00.180 If you have a large chunk
00:41:01.660 Of your monthly budget
00:41:02.440 Going towards credit card bills
00:41:03.900 You are not alone
00:41:04.760 And you're not stuck with it either
00:41:06.360 If you call American financing
00:41:08.280 And consolidate the debt
00:41:09.980 With the lowest interest rate possible
00:41:12.140 It's really likely
00:41:13.640 That you're going to wind up
00:41:14.180 Saving a bunch of money
00:41:15.400 And you're going to be able
00:41:16.780 To get that into one easy payment
00:41:18.240 We're talking about
00:41:19.100 Mortgage refinancing here
00:41:20.360 Mortgage rates are the lowest
00:41:21.480 They've been in over a year
00:41:22.880 And really historically low
00:41:24.480 And credit card charges
00:41:26.180 Are obviously incredibly high
00:41:28.420 I mean double digit rates
00:41:29.520 It can go up
00:41:30.620 And of course they jack them up
00:41:31.800 With fees and everything else
00:41:32.820 With American financing
00:41:34.340 You get straightforward
00:41:35.160 And effortless mortgage experiences
00:41:37.340 And you know what
00:41:38.580 It's a 10 minute call
00:41:39.440 It's all it takes to start
00:41:40.760 Find out if this is going to work for you
00:41:43.340 They put your needs first
00:41:44.580 It's a simple conversation
00:41:45.680 Around a better loan program
00:41:47.060 That can offer greater overall savings
00:41:49.540 American financing is a company
00:41:51.140 I've been talking about
00:41:52.400 For a very long time
00:41:53.380 As has Glenn
00:41:54.200 I've dealt with him
00:41:55.220 With my mortgage
00:41:56.060 Glenn did with his as well
00:41:57.660 It's a great place to go
00:42:00.060 When you're ready to refinance
00:42:01.240 You'll work with a salary based
00:42:02.300 Mortgage consultant
00:42:03.260 That's not out for the banks
00:42:04.240 They're out for you
00:42:04.880 Without resetting your mortgage
00:42:06.640 What are you waiting for?
00:42:07.360 Give him a call
00:42:07.840 Right now
00:42:08.720 Or visit
00:42:09.220 Americanfinancing.net
00:42:11.320 It's
00:42:11.700 Americanfinancing.net
00:42:14.300 We come back
00:42:15.320 In just a moment
00:42:16.360 With a very mediocre quarterback
00:42:18.260 With a very mediocre
00:42:19.880 Understanding of history
00:42:20.960 The fusion
00:42:26.220 Of entertainment
00:42:27.340 And enlightenment
00:42:28.380 This
00:42:29.200 Is the Glenn Beck Program
00:42:30.740 A lot of times
00:42:31.960 It's best to stick
00:42:33.320 With what you do
00:42:34.440 A lot of times
00:42:36.680 It's one of those things
00:42:37.580 Where maybe you step out
00:42:38.560 And you say
00:42:39.020 I'm not going to go out
00:42:40.980 On this limb at all
00:42:41.860 The problem with Colin Kaepernick
00:42:43.160 Is what he did
00:42:44.100 Was play football
00:42:44.800 And he did that poorly
00:42:45.820 So he's trying something else
00:42:47.340 He's trying to be
00:42:48.300 An activist
00:42:50.520 Some sort of racial activist
00:42:52.420 And he tried to teach us
00:42:54.440 All the lesson
00:42:55.180 About the 4th of July
00:42:56.600 And it did not
00:42:58.680 Work out very well
00:42:59.860 It's Stu
00:43:01.160 In for Glenn
00:43:01.980 On the Glenn Beck Program
00:43:03.140 Who apparently has a better
00:43:04.980 Vacation schedule
00:43:06.020 Than I do
00:43:06.540 So that's what I'll tell you
00:43:07.720 Until I'm out next week
00:43:08.680 We'll go into Colin Kaepernick
00:43:11.160 Here in just a moment
00:43:12.200 After we hear from our friend
00:43:13.560 Glenn Beck
00:43:14.160 This is the Glenn Beck Program
00:43:19.140 Wi-Fi is spelled W-I-F-I
00:43:22.460 Unfortunately for many people
00:43:24.420 It also spells T-M-I
00:43:26.700 As in too much information
00:43:28.120 Because Wi-Fi
00:43:29.680 Whether public
00:43:30.560 Or right in your own home
00:43:32.100 Even if it's password protected
00:43:34.220 Isn't always private
00:43:36.280 Cyber criminals can use Wi-Fi
00:43:38.460 To steal information
00:43:39.480 That you send and receive
00:43:40.820 While online
00:43:41.800 Whether that's credit card numbers
00:43:43.420 Account login information
00:43:45.260 Or your social security number
00:43:46.780 To help put a stop
00:43:47.880 To TMI on Wi-Fi
00:43:49.800 You need
00:43:50.540 Norton Secure VPN
00:43:52.620 Norton Secure

00:43:56.260 Norton Secure VPN
00:43:57.480 Starts at $3.33 a month
00:43:59.120 With an annual subscription
00:44:00.240 So go to
00:44:00.820 Norton.com slash VPN
00:44:02.660 That's Norton.com slash VPN
00:44:05.700 Don't let Wi-Fi
00:44:07.200 Public or in your home
00:44:08.440 Mean TMI
00:44:09.560 Get Norton Secure VPN
00:44:11.700 ASAP
00:44:12.740 Protection starts
00:44:14.080 At less than $4 a month
00:44:15.440 Terms do apply
00:44:16.480 Norton.com slash VPN
00:44:19.020 So let me start with this
00:44:32.520 What the hell is going on?
00:44:35.820 Honestly
00:44:38.080 What is going on?
00:44:41.220 Since when
00:44:42.320 Is the Betsy Ross flag
00:44:44.580 Controversial?
00:44:46.700 Since when?
00:44:48.980 What the hell is going on?
00:44:52.240 Because Colin Kaepernick
00:44:53.880 A quarterback
00:44:54.940 Who's not even notable
00:44:56.060 For his football ability
00:44:57.700 Is supposedly now dictating
00:44:59.980 What is
00:45:00.920 What is controversial
00:45:02.800 And what is not?
00:45:03.620 Has anyone ever
00:45:05.040 Seen the Betsy Ross flag
00:45:07.400 Used in a way
00:45:09.100 That was negative?
00:45:12.780 Used in a way
00:45:14.300 Where we're talking about
00:45:15.100 You know
00:45:15.700 White nationalists
00:45:17.420 Has anyone ever seen that?
00:45:19.840 It's a strange thing
00:45:21.320 If true
00:45:21.900 Because Barack Obama
00:45:23.240 Hung it behind himself
00:45:25.080 During
00:45:26.040 His 2013 inauguration
00:45:28.700 After he won
00:45:29.580 Against Romney
00:45:30.240 His big celebration
00:45:33.340 Hey
00:45:34.060 I'm going to be president
00:45:34.940 For another four years
00:45:35.820 It's going to be fantastic
00:45:37.020 You're going to love it
00:45:38.020 By the way
00:45:38.660 There's Betsy Ross'
00:45:39.680 Flag behind me
00:45:40.580 And now
00:45:42.480 We're supposed to believe
00:45:43.700 That this is some
00:45:46.340 Controversial
00:45:47.080 White supremacist
00:45:48.000 Symbol?
00:45:50.260 What the hell
00:45:51.100 Is going on?
00:45:52.360 Why are we
00:45:53.200 Accepting these things?
00:45:55.260 Wait
00:45:55.440 First of all
00:45:56.480 People are getting fired
00:45:57.880 Because they're giving
00:45:58.980 The okay symbol
00:46:00.300 At the camera
00:46:01.580 And that's apparently
00:46:03.700 Some sort of
00:46:04.440 White supremacy
00:46:05.080 Statement
00:46:06.060 And we're just
00:46:06.440 Supposed to accept that
00:46:07.480 As if we just
00:46:08.400 Didn't all do
00:46:09.300 The okay thing
00:46:10.100 Our entire lives
00:46:10.920 And now all of a sudden
00:46:11.520 We have to remember
00:46:12.100 Not to do it
00:46:12.720 Because if you do
00:46:14.080 That means you're
00:46:15.080 A white supremacist
00:46:16.040 And now
00:46:17.700 The Betsy Ross flag
00:46:19.180 If anything
00:46:20.740 The Betsy Ross flag
00:46:22.140 Was more of a sign
00:46:23.220 Of American feminism
00:46:25.020 It's about
00:46:26.720 What an important role
00:46:28.000 That not only
00:46:28.920 White evil men
00:46:30.500 Had in our founding
00:46:31.520 But also women
00:46:32.400 And now we're
00:46:35.100 Supposed to step back
00:46:36.220 And say
00:46:36.520 Oh well
00:46:37.000 You know what
00:46:37.400 That thing's evil
00:46:38.440 I mean
00:46:39.240 Think about it
00:46:40.300 Barack Obama
00:46:42.440 In 2013
00:46:43.320 Here we are
00:46:43.980 In 2019
00:46:44.580 And all of a sudden
00:46:45.560 You're not
00:46:47.020 You're not allowed
00:46:48.000 To use the
00:46:48.380 Betsy Ross flag
00:46:49.540 What kind of nonsense
00:46:51.320 Are we accepting
00:46:52.120 In this country
00:46:52.800 I mean
00:46:53.700 Seriously
00:46:54.320 This just
00:46:55.420 This stuff
00:46:56.020 Just happens
00:46:56.900 And we just
00:46:57.960 Kind of sit back
00:46:58.480 And go
00:46:58.700 Wow
00:46:59.120 That's weird
00:46:59.800 It's weird
00:47:01.320 How they said
00:47:01.900 This was a great
00:47:02.500 Symbol a couple
00:47:03.060 Of years ago
00:47:03.480 And now
00:47:03.940 They're saying
00:47:04.320 The opposite
00:47:04.700 And it really
00:47:05.220 Isn't even
00:47:05.700 A couple of years
00:47:06.440 How fast
00:47:07.520 Is this gone
00:47:08.200 You have a
00:47:10.220 Situation where
00:47:11.120 Yeah
00:47:12.140 In 2013
00:47:12.800 Barack Obama
00:47:13.480 Talked about it
00:47:14.080 It's always been
00:47:14.700 A positive symbol
00:47:15.540 For America
00:47:16.620 But we've gone
00:47:18.680 From
00:47:18.980 You know what
00:47:19.460 Colin Kaepernick
00:47:20.240 Decided
00:47:20.820 It was not
00:47:21.400 Good
00:47:21.720 Immediately
00:47:23.420 To Nike
00:47:24.540 Saying
00:47:25.000 Wow
00:47:25.500 Colin
00:47:26.000 You're right
00:47:26.540 Let's pull
00:47:27.120 All these shoes
00:47:27.760 Off the shelf
00:47:28.420 And destroy
00:47:29.240 All of them
00:47:30.960 Then immediately
00:47:33.420 From there
00:47:34.320 To everyone
00:47:35.260 Just kind of
00:47:35.740 Accepting it
00:47:36.540 Now we're to
00:47:40.920 The point
00:47:41.200 Where candidates
00:47:41.980 Are like
00:47:42.920 Yeah
00:47:43.240 I can't
00:47:43.920 Believe it
00:47:44.760 The Betsy Ross
00:47:45.520 Flag
00:47:45.780 I'm glad
00:47:46.520 That's gone
00:47:47.240 Listen to
00:47:48.180 Julian Castro
00:47:48.940 Talk about
00:47:50.060 The flag
00:47:50.600 Again
00:47:51.040 This is a
00:47:52.060 Symbol
00:47:52.420 That was
00:47:53.020 Embraced by
00:47:53.880 Everybody
00:47:54.440 As of like
00:47:55.480 Yesterday
00:47:56.240 And now
00:47:58.080 Because this
00:47:59.000 Guy
00:47:59.680 Who
00:48:01.520 It wasn't
00:48:03.040 Even an
00:48:03.720 Accurate
00:48:04.160 Passer
00:48:04.920 Gets to
00:48:06.320 Dictate
00:48:06.880 Our national
00:48:07.420 Policy
00:48:08.000 On flag
00:48:09.320 Etiquette
00:48:09.780 Here's
00:48:10.640 Julian Castro
00:48:11.320 Who's running
00:48:11.740 For president
00:48:12.220 If you don't
00:48:12.620 Know
00:48:12.820 Yeah well
00:48:13.540 You know
00:48:13.900 And I was
00:48:14.200 Glad to see
00:48:14.700 That
00:48:15.040 And
00:48:15.580 The Nike
00:48:16.360 Ban
00:48:16.640 My hope
00:48:17.440 Is that
00:48:17.940 They didn't
00:48:18.720 Just do it
00:48:19.260 To do it
00:48:19.700 That they
00:48:19.980 Understand the
00:48:20.660 Significance
00:48:21.260 There
00:48:21.580 What significance
00:48:21.920 Look there
00:48:22.820 Are a lot
00:48:23.080 Of things
00:48:23.500 In our
00:48:23.820 History
00:48:24.100 That are
00:48:24.600 Still very
00:48:25.140 Painful
00:48:25.600 Sure there
00:48:26.020 Are but
00:48:26.280 Why is
00:48:26.560 That one
00:48:26.800 The confederate
00:48:27.100 Flag
00:48:27.460 That still
00:48:27.980 Flies
00:48:28.380 In some
00:48:28.720 Places
00:48:29.040 And is
00:48:30.420 Used as
00:48:30.840 A symbol
00:48:31.320 And I
00:48:32.960 Believe that
00:48:33.480 We need to
00:48:33.860 Move toward
00:48:34.420 An inclusive
00:48:35.120 America
00:48:35.780 Inclusive
00:48:36.340 That understands
00:48:37.160 That pain
00:48:37.860 That doesn't
00:48:38.820 Wipe it away
00:48:39.380 From history
00:48:40.000 In the sense
00:48:40.600 That it still
00:48:41.300 Belongs in a
00:48:41.840 Museum or
00:48:42.660 We need to
00:48:43.300 Read about it
00:48:43.820 And understand
00:48:44.340 The significance
00:48:44.940 Because that's
00:48:46.300 How you learn
00:48:46.880 And make sure
00:48:47.440 That we don't
00:48:47.900 Make the same
00:48:48.400 Mistakes in the
00:48:49.020 Future
00:48:49.300 But does not
00:48:50.360 Glorify it
00:48:51.280 Does not
00:48:52.040 Celebrate it
00:48:52.880 We don't
00:48:53.220 Celebrate the
00:48:54.020 Betsy Ross
00:48:54.740 You're
00:48:55.520 The
00:48:56.740 This is
00:48:57.640 Julian Castro
00:48:58.240 This is a
00:48:59.120 Man who
00:48:59.480 Served in
00:49:00.380 Obama's
00:49:01.040 Cabinet
00:49:01.860 He was
00:49:02.620 The
00:49:02.740 HUD
00:49:02.880 Secretary
00:49:03.420 This guy
00:49:05.680 Is saying
00:49:06.400 I guess
00:49:07.100 His former
00:49:07.660 Boss
00:49:08.220 Who was
00:49:08.960 Black
00:49:09.460 Is a
00:49:10.100 Racist
00:49:10.680 What
00:49:12.080 What hurtful
00:49:12.880 History is
00:49:13.560 There of
00:49:13.940 The
00:49:14.040 Betsy Ross
00:49:14.680 Flag
00:49:14.940 The fact
00:49:15.220 That we
00:49:15.420 Point out
00:49:15.800 That there
00:49:16.080 Were
00:49:16.260 American
00:49:16.980 Heroes
00:49:17.580 Of this
00:49:18.020 Founding
00:49:18.540 That were
00:49:20.220 Of our
00:49:22.420 History
00:49:22.860 That were
00:49:23.420 Women
00:49:24.100 This is
00:49:25.220 Supposed to
00:49:26.160 Be a
00:49:26.400 Positive
00:49:26.740 Thing
00:49:27.160 And it
00:49:28.000 Was a
00:49:28.420 Positive
00:49:28.680 Thing
00:49:28.940 Until
00:49:29.200 Colin
00:49:29.720 Kaepernick
00:49:30.380 Was able
00:49:31.020 To derail
00:49:31.840 It
00:49:32.080 And now
00:49:32.800 What you're
00:49:33.120 Going to
00:49:33.360 Have is
00:49:33.640 Make it
00:49:33.920 A self
00:49:34.200 Fulfilling
00:49:34.520 Prophecy
00:49:35.000 Because the
00:49:35.540 Trolls
00:49:36.160 Who are
00:49:36.580 On the
00:49:36.960 Alt-right
00:49:37.420 Or white
00:49:37.780 Supremacists
00:49:38.380 Or whatever
00:49:38.820 Are going to
00:49:39.160 Start using
00:49:39.660 It
00:49:39.880 And then it
00:49:40.520 Really will
00:49:40.940 Need to be
00:49:41.300 In a
00:49:41.460 Museum
00:49:41.780 At least
00:49:43.000 According to
00:49:43.420 Them
00:49:43.680 No one
00:49:45.420 Wants to
00:49:45.720 Fight for
00:49:46.020 These things
00:49:46.360 Anymore
00:49:46.660 No one
00:49:47.300 Wants the
00:49:47.740 Tough
00:49:47.980 Battle
00:49:48.300 No one
00:49:48.900 Wants the
00:49:49.240 Tough
00:49:49.500 road
00:49:49.740 No one
00:49:50.300 Wants to
00:49:50.660 Have to
00:49:51.020 Say
00:49:51.280 Well I
00:49:51.620 Disagree
00:49:52.220 With
00:49:52.700 Colin
00:49:52.980 Kaepernick
00:49:53.440 I don't
00:49:54.060 Know has
00:49:54.360 Anyone
00:49:54.580 Noticed
00:49:55.000 He's a
00:49:55.540 Moron
00:49:56.000 Nobody
00:49:57.720 Want
00:49:57.940 Nike
00:49:58.460 Can't
00:49:58.900 Do
00:49:59.040 That
00:49:59.400 They
00:49:59.900 Can
00:50:00.080 Come
00:50:00.600 And tell
00:50:01.140 Us
00:50:01.420 How evil
00:50:01.820 We are
00:50:02.320 They can
00:50:03.260 Tell
00:50:03.640 Half of
00:50:04.380 America
00:50:04.840 How terrible
00:50:05.780 They are
00:50:06.220 How terrible
00:50:06.740 Their policies
00:50:07.400 Are
00:50:07.880 Corporate
00:50:09.040 Responsibility
00:50:10.000 Blah
00:50:10.640 Blah
00:50:11.080 Blah
00:50:11.680 They
00:50:13.300 Certainly
00:50:13.780 Have their
00:50:14.120 Own set
00:50:14.520 Of
00:50:14.660 Problems
00:50:15.680 As
00:50:15.960 We've
00:50:16.380 Seen
00:50:16.600 Over
00:50:16.760 The
00:50:16.900 Years
00:50:17.180 But
00:50:17.780 We
00:50:18.060 Went
00:50:18.360 From
00:50:18.780 Hey
00:50:19.600 This
00:50:20.120 Is
00:50:20.460 Totally
00:50:21.460 Fine
00:50:21.840 To
00:50:22.400 Colin
00:50:22.720 Kaepernick
00:50:23.100 Saying
00:50:23.380 It's
00:50:23.540 No
00:50:23.700 Longer
00:50:24.040 Fine
00:50:24.360 To
00:50:24.800 Now
00:50:25.080 Nike
00:50:25.400 Saying
00:50:25.660 Of
00:50:25.800 Course
00:50:25.980 It's
00:50:26.140 No
00:50:26.260 Longer
00:50:26.460 Fine
00:50:26.720 To
00:50:27.100 People
00:50:27.440 Who
00:50:27.620 Are
00:50:27.740 Running
00:50:28.000 For
00:50:28.200 President
00:50:28.540 Saying
00:50:28.820 Thank
00:50:29.200 God
00:50:29.540 Hopefully
00:50:30.080 Someday
00:50:30.480 Soon
00:50:30.820 That
00:50:30.980 Will
00:50:31.100 Just
00:50:31.240 Be
00:50:31.400 In
00:50:31.500 A
00:50:31.580 Museum
00:50:31.960 So
00:50:32.400 We
00:50:32.500 Know
00:50:32.660 About
00:50:32.840 Our
00:50:32.980 Evil
00:50:33.280 Dark
00:50:33.600 History
00:50:33.980 What
00:50:34.480 Evil
00:50:35.080 Dark
00:50:35.560 History
00:50:36.180 When
00:50:36.560 It
00:50:36.640 Comes
00:50:36.840 To
00:50:36.980 This
00:50:37.100 Flag
00:50:37.440 Is
00:50:37.940 Never
00:50:38.300 Symbolized
00:50:38.880 Anything
00:50:39.320 Of
00:50:39.500 The
00:50:39.620 Sort
00:50:39.900 And
00:50:43.440 I
00:50:43.540 Think
00:50:43.700 One
00:50:43.960 Of
00:50:44.040 The
00:50:44.120 Things
00:50:44.300 And
00:50:44.560 Charles
00:50:45.000 CW
00:50:45.380 Cook
00:50:45.560 Does
00:50:45.700 A
00:50:45.800 Good
00:50:45.900 Job
00:50:46.120 Pointing
00:50:46.640 This
00:50:46.780 Out
00:50:46.900 For
00:50:47.020 National
00:50:47.280 Review
00:50:47.580 It's
00:50:48.480 Not
00:50:48.640 Just
00:50:48.820 How
00:50:48.960 Fast
00:50:49.700 This
00:50:50.400 Has
00:50:50.580 Happened
00:50:51.080 It's
00:50:52.080 That
00:50:52.200 There
00:50:52.340 Hasn't
00:50:52.800 Even
00:50:53.060 Been
00:50:53.400 An
00:50:53.740 Argument
00:50:54.560 As
00:50:55.860 To
00:50:56.040 Why
00:50:56.600 It's
00:50:56.940 Happened
00:50:57.320 There
00:50:58.520 Isn't
00:50:58.900 Even
00:50:59.280 The
00:50:59.520 Thing
00:50:59.840 Where
00:51:00.060 You're
00:51:00.220 Saying
00:51:00.480 Well
00:51:00.900 We
00:51:01.720 You
00:51:01.920 Know
00:51:02.100 We
00:51:03.400 We
00:51:04.280 Think
00:51:04.500 This
00:51:04.760 You
00:51:04.980 Know
00:51:05.100 Represented
00:51:05.880 A
00:51:06.040 Time
00:51:06.260 Where
00:51:06.440 Things
00:51:06.660 Were
00:51:06.800 Bad
00:51:07.140 And
00:51:07.340 That's
00:51:07.980 Why
00:51:08.160 We
00:51:08.320 Now
00:51:08.520 Think
00:51:08.980 It's
00:51:09.180 Bad
00:51:09.400 They
00:51:09.540 Can't
00:51:09.680 Even
00:51:09.780 Come
00:51:09.900 Up
00:51:10.040 With
00:51:10.200 One
00:51:10.420 We

00:51:12.080 About
00:51:12.200 This
00:51:12.280 All
00:51:12.380 The
00:51:12.480 Time
00:51:12.660 It's
00:51:13.100 Like
00:51:13.180 If
00:51:13.280 Someone
00:51:13.520 Dies
00:51:13.880 You
00:51:14.020 Don't
00:51:14.100 Want

01:21:52.580 Welcome to the program. I, you know, I'm just going through some of this border stuff and it
01:21:56.540 is just bizarre. This circus, this performance that was put on by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and
01:22:05.420 others as they went to the border is just an embarrassment to the country. It really,
01:22:10.180 it really is. She, I mean, I just don't even know where to start with this. So Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,
01:22:17.980 as we know, went to the border. She went through these facilities. She said she was physically
01:22:22.420 and sexually threatened. She made all these accusations with no evidence to support them
01:22:27.540 whatsoever. And the media pretty much just ran with them, just treated it as if they were reporting
01:22:32.560 what she said without questioning it at all, which is interesting. Washington Examiner, Washington
01:22:37.660 Examiner talked to people who were actually there. One, one witness who was there stunned by the
01:22:44.200 outburst said, she comes out screaming at our agents right at the beginning, crying and screaming and
01:22:49.320 yelling. The agents, they wanted to respond, but they held back because she's a congressional
01:22:53.200 delegate. But when you have someone yelling at you in a threatening manner, they were like,
01:22:57.220 hey, you kind of need to step back. A second official said that when she was around the agents,
01:23:02.640 Ocasio-Cortez commented at another point about an unofficial border patrol Facebook page that was
01:23:08.620 exposed on Monday for offensive content. Something under her breath, she said something like,
01:23:14.640 oh, all these guys in here are going to F me. The agents are standing there behind the computers.
01:23:21.560 One of the agents laughed at something he was saying to another agent. She got irate and flipped
01:23:25.360 out. The second border agent said now they're under investigation for laughing. She took it as
01:23:31.700 they were laughing at her and then screams at them and says, what's so funny? Now I've seen inside
01:23:38.000 these facilities. This is what Ocasio-Cortez wrote. It's not just the kids, it's everyone. People
01:23:44.000 drinking out of toilets. Oh God, we gotta get to that one. Officers laughing in front of members of
01:23:49.300 Congress. Is laughing prohibited in front of a member of Congress? Is that something I missed in
01:23:55.640 the Constitution? Is that, was there a law passed on that one? Are you not allowed to laugh in the
01:24:03.860 presence of a Congress person? Man, this entitlement got there pretty fast for AOC. Here she is a
01:24:13.800 bartender of what, a year ago, and now she is so high. I mean, she's to Barbara Streisand level.
01:24:22.920 Can you look at her? Can you look at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or will she be offended at that?
01:24:28.540 You can't laugh in her presence? I hope some Republican congressman writes up a law and decides
01:24:37.340 to put it up for a vote that outlaws laughing in the presence of Congress people. Because this is
01:24:45.300 completely ridiculous. She says she brought it up to their superiors that they laughed. And the
01:24:51.520 superiors said that officers are under stress and act out sometimes. No accountability for their laughing?
01:24:58.540 Now, uh, the agent on the scene has talked about this toilet water. And I want to get to that in a
01:25:06.940 second. But first, Frederica, Frederica Wilson's another representative. And if you think I'm joking
01:25:12.280 about the idea that laughing in front of Congress is now a problem to people in Congress, here's
01:25:18.680 Frederica to tell you all about it.
01:25:20.340 Those people who are online making fun of members of Congress are a disgrace. And there's no need
01:25:31.120 for anyone to think that is unacceptable. We're going to shut them down and work with whoever it is to
01:25:38.600 shut them down and they should be prosecuted. You cannot intimidate members of Congress, threaten members
01:25:47.260 of Congress. It is against the law. And it's a shame in this United States of America.
01:25:52.940 Now, I do want to point out that that was not a voice of mine. So you're aware I didn't,
01:25:59.420 it wasn't a fake voice. It was Frederica Wilson, actual Congress person telling you that people need
01:26:04.820 to be prosecuted for their jokes online. And she, she classifies them as threats.
01:26:10.700 This, this is something we have to talk about. This comes from a ProPublica report and the ProPublica
01:26:19.400 report unearthed this hidden border security forum, a private Facebook group, if you're a member of any
01:26:26.300 of those, where border agents apparently went to be irreverent. They went there and they said pretty
01:26:35.020 terrible things about a lot of people. Now, I don't know if you've ever, you know, been online
01:26:40.300 before, but this is not a news story. People say really bad things about public figures. They say
01:26:51.320 really bad things about their friends. The entirety of online discourse is essentially a giant collection
01:26:57.300 of insults. That is what it is. I don't know if we're really in the golden age of journalism,
01:27:04.400 but man, does it feel like it when a group like ProPublica can come up with people saying
01:27:12.080 insulting things about Congress people. It certainly never happened to Donald Trump, right? You can't
01:27:17.720 find any groups. We can find this being said by other Congress people about Donald Trump, let alone
01:27:23.540 randos online. So supposedly they found this border security border guard group with 9,500
01:27:34.360 members. Now, of course they say, is, is this confirmed? Are they border, are they border guards?
01:27:40.900 Well, the thing about that is no. I mean, because basically you had to get a private invite. So
01:27:50.100 I guess maybe at some point at the beginning, a border agent started this, but likely it's been
01:27:56.840 shared out way outside of that circle by now. When you get to 9,500 people, you probably needed to
01:28:02.120 know someone who knew someone who knew someone who was a border agent. That's about the restrictions
01:28:06.300 of this group. Some of them may very well be border agents, but like, are we really going to act like
01:28:11.240 this? Are we really going to act as if, you know, people in uniform in difficult circumstances don't
01:28:17.280 act out with dark humor? Have you ever watched a war movie? This is not a surprise. People,
01:28:25.120 this happens all the time. Yes, people use dark humor. Yes, people are jerks online. Everybody knows
01:28:33.620 this. One of them did threaten to throw a burrito at one of the Congress people. Now, I don't know if
01:28:43.640 you would take that as a legitimate threat. First of all, burritos are delicious. And if someone throws
01:28:49.060 one at you, there's at least a chance you're going to catch it. And that would make for a wonderful
01:28:52.780 afternoon. But the idea that throwing a burrito is a giant threat, I mean, come on. Another person
01:29:00.540 said, uh, uh, this is how they write it. ProPublica reported was apparently a patrol supervisor because
01:29:07.360 you can't pose as something you're not online. That's never occurred. Uh, and, and she, uh, that
01:29:12.220 person wrote F the hose. A third person, I mean, you always know when a news story is depending on
01:29:20.600 one commenter said, you always know it's a crap heap of a story because you can find anyone on the
01:29:25.860 internet that says anything. It's not hard. One person said there should be no photo ops for these
01:29:34.440 scum buckets. Now look, is that a nice thing to say to somebody? No, it's probably not. Is it something
01:29:41.380 that they should get prosecuted for according to your Congress people? Yes.
01:29:49.600 Another was a Photoshopped, uh, picture of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doing something a little nasty.
01:29:58.040 And yeah, you know, if this happens to you, of course you get upset about it.
01:30:01.540 Are you excited that, you know, you know, cause it's certainly happened to myself. It's certainly
01:30:05.520 happened to Glenn where people take things and say terrible things about you.
01:30:09.260 Political opponents, people who don't like you, they trash you. They say awful things. They say
01:30:14.780 you should die. They say you should be killed. Like these are not, these are not rare occurrences,
01:30:21.200 unfortunately. It's just part of, it's part of, it's part of life in the digital era. And you know,
01:30:26.040 who knows that? Everyone, everyone on earth knows it, but we're all supposed to pretend as if this is
01:30:32.460 exclusive to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and border agents. It's ridiculous.
01:30:39.260 So what happened with the toilet water?
01:30:43.380 Well, the toilet water, I mean, there was a complaint, a 17 year old girl,
01:30:47.720 uh, she had crossed the Rio Grande. She said the only available drinking water came from the
01:30:53.780 toilet tank in her holding cell. And we didn't know initially who said this and we weren't sure
01:30:59.460 if it actually was even said by someone, but apparently it was 17 year old girl
01:31:03.320 crossed the border, said the only available drinking water quote came from the toilet tank
01:31:11.060 in her holding cell. Well, obviously that's wrong. And that's why it shouldn't have happened
01:31:16.020 in 2014.
01:31:18.140 I don't think Trump was president. I mean, it, you know, look the way the news cycle works right
01:31:26.900 now, things feel at the times I get screwed up with the time. Sometimes maybe it feels like it's
01:31:31.120 longer than it was, but I don't remember Donald Trump being president in 2014. I kind of remember
01:31:35.240 a 2016 election and a 2017 inauguration, but in 2014, 116 kids said they were abused and mistreated
01:31:43.020 in custody by the border patrol under Obama. They said that this girl, uh, claimed that the only
01:31:49.700 water she had from the, was the toilet tank. Ocasio-Cortez went on to say that she was, uh,
01:31:56.960 physically abused. One of the ways she described this was that a border agent took a stealth selfie
01:32:03.580 with her as she was walking around and Ocasio-Cortez was in the background and he was smiling in the
01:32:11.620 photo. Now, if that's not a harassment, I don't know what is.
01:32:17.400 We do have one little update on whether a person actually did drink toilet water in 2019.
01:32:25.660 And it's kind of interesting. What happened with the migrant and drinking water from the
01:32:29.340 toilet? She wanted water. She didn't know how to use the faucet in the cell and she drank from
01:32:34.040 the toilet. She never told AOC that we made her drink from the toilet. AOC, of course, just changed it.
01:32:42.120 This is an agent from the scene who was there. This, when she, the migrant, was apprehended and
01:32:48.700 brought into the facility. That's when it happened. So she is saying that it did happen and it was an
01:32:54.080 operational problem where they didn't know how to work the sink. And it makes sense because the sink
01:32:58.060 is attached to, you've seen the photos probably, the sink is attached to the toilet. Uh, it does seem
01:33:02.160 like that. It could be, I mean, look, everyone says that there's, there's water on the facility,
01:33:07.440 including people who were there. Uh, there was water. I mean, did agents do something terrible?
01:33:13.160 It's not impossible, right? Border agents are people. And while I've seen nothing but, you know,
01:33:19.220 exemplary, uh, conduct largely by our, our border agents, you know, there have been incidents,
01:33:26.340 of course, right? Like this is something every single group of people, including Congress
01:33:30.540 people, you know, some of them suck. Some of them go to prison. Some of them lose elections
01:33:35.360 because they lie all the time. These things occur. It's not a big surprise. This is nothing
01:33:41.880 but just a way to use people who are in a very difficult time as they've crossed the border
01:33:51.340 into what they now call our concentration camps. They're trying to use them for political benefit.
01:33:59.440 And I will quote Chad Prather here and say that there's no such thing as a concentration camp
01:34:03.860 that you can turn around and walk the other way from. That's not a thing. If you can walk up to it,
01:34:09.920 look at it, turn the other way and go back across the border and stay in the country,
01:34:13.720 it's hard to call it a concentration camp. I know of no historical examples of concentration
01:34:21.120 camps that could be easily avoided like that. The fact that the media keeps embracing this stuff
01:34:27.760 is really bothersome, but it's up to us to actually know the truth. And I guess,
01:34:31.980 get it out there because nobody else is going to do it. 888-727-BEC is the phone number back with more
01:34:36.180 in a second. You're listening to Glenn Beck. Every two seconds, there's a victim of identity
01:34:44.920 theft, which means a criminal could be spending your money, applying for loans in your name,
01:34:49.620 even damaging your credit. The good credit you've worked so hard to build. Fortunately,
01:34:54.100 you could miss certain threats to your identity just by checking bank statements or monitoring your
01:34:58.420 credit. That's why it's a good thing there is LifeLock Identity Theft Protection. LifeLock uses
01:35:04.060 proprietary technology to detect and alert you to a wide range of identity threats like your social
01:35:09.420 security number for sale on the dark web. And if you do have an issue involving identity theft,
01:35:14.220 one of LifeLock's identity restoration specialists will work to fix it. Now, nobody can prevent all
01:35:19.320 identity theft or monitor all transactions at all businesses, but with LifeLock, you get identity
01:35:23.780 theft protection and additional features to help protect your devices against cyber threats.
01:35:29.080 Starting at the already discounted price of $9.99 a month, plus an extra 10% off your first year,

01:35:38.980 10% off, 1-800-LIFELOCK or LifeLock.com.
01:35:42.040 So, sometimes I guess we can be a little too insensitive about the border talk. This was
01:36:10.140 pointed out by some liberal groups who are trying to now spread around these controversial comments
01:36:16.120 made by Glenn the other day. And if you happen to be listening to the show the other day, let's give
01:36:21.680 you the clip that they're talking about and are so upset about, listen. It's funny because they were
01:36:29.200 very upset that they were asked to check their phones going into the facility. So they did, but
01:36:34.400 heroic Joaquin Castro smuggled in a device to get some footage. And what a brave man he is.
01:36:42.660 Oh my God.
01:36:43.320 And certainly nothing to, you know, his brother's running for president, but that's not at all
01:36:47.580 important to pull a stunt like this. But you know what? All these terrible things happened.
01:36:53.400 And the only thing he was able to get though was a bunch of women sitting comfortably in
01:36:58.140 sleeping bags. But they were on the floor. Oh my God. And unlike my daughter who sleeps on the
01:37:04.360 floor in her sleeping bag next to her bed inexplicably every night, that is the most horrific
01:37:10.940 thing that's ever happened. Well, I think that you can make a case that they're used to sleeping
01:37:15.660 on the dirt outside for this, you know, this long journey of hundreds and hundreds and hundreds
01:37:22.840 of miles of journey. They're usually, you know, copping a squat by a cactus. And now we're forcing
01:37:30.820 them to, you know, put a sleeping bag down on a clean floor. If there's only some recourse for these
01:37:37.020 people, if there's only some way for them to avoid these facilities, like, I don't know, like
01:37:42.440 turning around and going the opposite direction. No, that's not possible. Oh, you want to go back
01:37:48.720 to the past. I say we keep them marching forward. We open our borders and we march them all the way
01:37:56.020 to the Canadian border and help them across the Canadian border. And I'm sure we'd have great
01:38:01.860 response from the Canadians. So that was earlier this week. And apparently that's controversial.
01:38:07.380 And the big thing that's controversial there is that apparently Glenn saying
01:38:10.820 that migrants were sleeping on dirt and delicately put by Glenn, copping a squat next to a cactus
01:38:21.240 is apparently the controversial point there. I think, and again, it's always difficult to detect
01:38:28.600 what is offensive in these clips. Because I think you can generally say like the imagery of
01:38:34.740 copping a squat is not a pleasant one. But I mean, I think the problem, I think what they're trying to
01:38:40.580 say is Glenn is saying people from Central America don't, they don't have homes. And this is the way
01:38:49.120 they live. And they should be lucky to be here. A couple points on this. Number one, very specifically,
01:38:56.220 Glenn was talking about the journey here. We know how rough the journey here is. We know that Barack Obama
01:39:03.820 warned people not to come here because it was such a dangerous journey in which people routinely die.
01:39:10.500 And if you think the dying part is not quite common enough to justify the imagery used by Glenn,
01:39:18.960 let's go to the sexual assault then. We're a gigantic number. I mean, it ranges, you know,
01:39:25.980 pretty widely from about 20 to 80% of women who make this journey wind up getting sexually assaulted
01:39:32.460 in some way. Does it sound better? Maybe he should have gone further. Maybe the copping a squat
01:39:39.340 describing a little bit of an icky moment of the journey wasn't the one we should have focused on.
01:39:47.140 Maybe we should have focused on the fact that these women are being assaulted, that many of them are
01:39:51.900 dying. Maybe that was a better thing to focus on. I didn't bring people down that much. But we're
01:39:59.600 talking about the journey here. We're not talking about the lifestyle they live at home, although
01:40:05.540 it's a lifestyle they are fleeing from. And this is an important part. It's been well publicized at
01:40:10.900 this point that these facilities are not the most wonderful places on earth. It ain't Disneyland.
01:40:16.520 Okay? We all know that. They're designed for short-term stays. They're completely overloaded.
01:40:21.480 We can't get money from the Democrats until very recently. They finally approved some money for it.
01:40:27.640 But like this is, these are not great facilities and it's been widely publicized yet people still
01:40:35.340 keep coming. Why do you go to a new place? Why do you do that? Because you have decided
01:40:42.760 that the place you're going to is better than the place you were. That's why you go places. That's why
01:40:49.560 you go to Disneyland. You go on vacation. Why? Because you think it's going to be the greatest place on
01:40:53.860 earth. You move to a new city. Why? Because you're hoping it's going to improve your lot in life.
01:40:59.200 And that's what migrants are doing. They're doing it illegally in some cases, abusing the asylum
01:41:04.400 process in other cases, and some are legitimate. But the bottom line here is that every person that
01:41:11.240 comes here is coming here because they believe what they will get here, including the incredibly
01:41:17.820 terrible situation that we've heard about in these facilities is better than what they're leaving.
01:41:23.340 And that is a point that the left loves to ignore.
01:41:26.800 You're listening to Glenn Beck.

01:42:40.140 of Glenn at GlennBeck.com or wherever podcasts are found. It's Stu in for Glenn on the Glenn Beck
01:42:45.980 program. Glenn will be back on Monday. He's out for actually recovering from surgery to reroute his
01:42:50.880 esophagus to a garbage can to lose some weight. So that's going on now, but he should be back and
01:42:55.460 healthy and ready to go on Monday. We're talking about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her detention
01:43:00.540 facility comments at the southern border. What's going on there? What's actually occurring?
01:43:05.980 And she's now saying that we're headed to fascism. She says, are we headed to fascism? Yes. I don't
01:43:12.360 think there's a question. So she's not, I mean, it's not even like, it's not a borderline situation.
01:43:17.160 We're on our way. Now, I do remember every time Glenn says the word fascism or Nazi or concentration
01:43:24.780 camp or Germany or like Europe or, I mean, any of these things we get, you know, he would get beat
01:43:36.340 up by every group in the world that says you're not allowed to talk about these things. These are,
01:43:41.580 you know, these are specific. You can't bring politics into this and you should never use this
01:43:45.560 sort of imagery. But no, she's saying we are headed to fascism and that's apparently okay.
01:43:50.640 She's saying they are concentration camps and that's apparently okay. And here's the thing,
01:43:58.780 and I don't want to overstate this because you're in a, I don't, what I'm thinking is a little bit
01:44:04.920 black and white. So I don't want to overstate my case here. So let me just be very careful.
01:44:11.340 Literally no one in the universe believes what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is saying.
01:44:15.160 Zero people. By the way, that includes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. No one believes the things she
01:44:25.140 is saying. She's saying them because she expects people to kind of just go along and not question
01:44:34.680 it. And look, there are, there is of course an element of truth here where this is a difficult
01:44:39.760 situation. There's a lot of people in areas that they would rather not be. Everyone wants to live
01:44:46.880 in a mansion and they're not living in mansions. You know, I mean, it sucks. They lived in a country
01:44:52.120 that was so crappy. They decided they had to risk their lives to leave it at this point, knowing they
01:44:58.840 were going to end up in an overcrowded, under-resourced facility. Imagine that decision. It's not an easy
01:45:04.360 day. And no one's saying it is. So of course there's some element of truth that the circumstances
01:45:09.340 are not the best. However, where she's going, trying to make it seem like, I mean, the idea that
01:45:16.260 she was sexually abused while walking through a facility with other congresspeople is the most
01:45:22.500 asinine thing anyone has ever stated. It's ridiculous. We all know it's ridiculous. The people
01:45:28.740 writing about it in the media know it's ridiculous and it did not occur. But we, I guess we're supposed
01:45:36.520 to act as if this is serious. Luckily, there are other people who have gone to these facilities and
01:45:42.080 looked at them. People with actual credibility. And they have reported things that are a little bit
01:45:50.500 different than what you're hearing from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the rest of the media. Joining me is
01:45:56.220 Dan Andros. He is at faithwire.com. And Dan, you guys actually talked to people who went to the
01:46:04.100 facility that maybe didn't have a political axe to grind. Kind of a different way of looking at
01:46:10.000 this story you guys did on Faithwire. Yeah, absolutely. And first of all, Stu, thoughts and
01:46:15.340 prayers to Glenn that surgery sounds really difficult. Yeah, thoughts and prayers. Although I will say I'm in
01:46:21.800 line to get the surgery. As I was describing the surgery, I thought I need to get the surgery that
01:46:27.260 I reroute the esophagus to a garbage can because that would be that would be something that would
01:46:30.800 improve my life. There you go. Yeah, so a few pastors actually that we have spoken to happen to have
01:46:40.320 toured the same facility that AOC had gone to and came away. They actually had gone before she went.
01:46:47.940 So this wasn't like they went afterwards to go and, you know, get a different story and throw something
01:46:53.220 out there. But Reverend Samuel Rodriguez went and he had gone with a delegation of Hispanic pastors.
01:47:01.180 And they he was he told us that he was totally baffled by the reports from AOC and others who saw what they
01:47:07.440 saw. He said they saw no soiled diapers, no deplorable conditions, no lack of basic necessities. Now, he went on to say
01:47:14.940 that it was like a summer camp. I don't know that it's that good. But I don't think I think the media
01:47:20.820 just sort of took that quote. I think he was trying to just say that it was wasn't the torturous
01:47:25.800 situation that AOC was describing. Another pastor, Gilberto Corradera. He also went there and he he had
01:47:35.740 an interesting thing here. And this is where I wanted to focus in on, Stu. He said that the border agents
01:47:42.240 actually have good relationships with the families and the children there. And they often spend their
01:47:46.520 own money to buy food and water for them because and this is the reason why these pastors are involved
01:47:52.080 in the first place, because of the lack of resources and funding right now, you know, dedicated to this
01:47:58.420 situation because there's an influx. This is way more than they're normally used to dealing with.
01:48:03.920 And again, AOC actually voted against that funding that was recently put up because she wanted to make
01:48:10.020 a statement. So so she voted against that. But so to me, that's like, OK, we've got two competing
01:48:17.260 narratives here. On the one hand, you have these pastors saying that the border agents actually care
01:48:22.640 and they generally feel bad for the people in this situation that, as you said, they're coming from
01:48:26.980 such horrible situations that they know they may not even have a chance to get in. They're willing to
01:48:32.040 risk the lives of their children and themselves to try to get here. That's how bad it is. So of course,
01:48:36.800 we have compassion on them for that situation, but that doesn't mean we can just let everybody in.
01:48:42.060 And since we don't have the resources, they're actually spending their own money.
01:48:45.800 Now, listen, I mean, compare that to what AOC is saying. And she's describing she's gone out there
01:48:50.700 and has tweeted that these are like concentration camps. Now, when you go down that road, she's going
01:48:56.560 she can do one of two things. She can either apologize and say that she just feels so bad for
01:49:01.320 that that she didn't mean to use that language. She just felt bad for the people in that situation.
01:49:05.760 But or she can do everything she can to double down and prove that her theory about these being
01:49:13.940 intentionally harmful concentration camps is true. And so what she's basing that tweet on,
01:49:21.180 Stu, that the one I'm going to read the tweet, because it's really interesting. She said,
01:49:24.260 I just left the first CPB facility. I see why those officers are being so physically and sexually
01:49:30.040 threatening towards me. Their officers are keeping women in cells with no water and had to tell them to
01:49:34.600 drink out of toilets. This was them on their good behavior in front of members of Congress. Now,
01:49:38.480 it's interesting the way she worded that because she didn't see the sexually threatening towards me
01:49:44.300 thing is not from she's not saying that that at least my understanding is she's not saying that
01:49:50.040 that happened while she was at the facility. She's saying that this happened in these secret
01:49:54.460 Facebook groups that were border patrol. Now, where what are those things come from? And what are
01:50:00.540 those? So that came from a report, interestingly, that was dropped about 20 minutes before she
01:50:06.820 tweeted about it. Yes. From ProPublica, which is a left leaning, one of these left leaning fact
01:50:12.420 checkers, you know, they masquerade as independent, but they're really, you know, have a liberal
01:50:16.000 leaning bias. And so the timing of that's interesting, because here she is on a tour,
01:50:20.900 right? And she's learning of all these horrific details. And yet she can tweet this random story
01:50:25.840 that she just happened to find. So it sure seems like she at least knew about it, or maybe there
01:50:30.840 was possibly some coordination there on the release of that. But these Facebook groups, let's let let's
01:50:35.980 look at those because the media has run with that. They've run with the memes that are in there.
01:50:39.720 And they're obviously these insensitive memes and, you know, locker room talk kind of stuff.
01:50:43.700 Right. And I'm fascinated by this part of it, because I mean, they act as if finding people who say
01:50:49.740 things online about public figures is some breaking news event. It's like, well, people are jerks,
01:50:58.140 right? Like, yes, people say bad things. We don't know who these people are. Part of the reason why
01:51:02.300 they do it on the internet is because there's anonymity. So we don't know who they are. We
01:51:05.980 don't know if they're actually border guards or not. And I was fascinated by the after Ocasio
01:51:11.840 Cortez came out and she was talking to the media afterwards, she said, you know, I've seen all these
01:51:15.980 things. All these negative things is written about me. And I'm not going to stop speaking truth to
01:51:21.320 power. And it's like, well, your power, you realize that like you're a congressperson now that you're not
01:51:26.860 just some random, you know, bartender anymore. You are the you are the type of person that gets truth
01:51:32.600 spoken to. It's not supposed to be the other way around at this point. And she acts as if like this, she
01:51:38.940 wants to shut down. I mean, we played a clip earlier, Dan, of of one congresswoman actually calling
01:51:44.100 for the prosecution of people on this Facebook group for the things that they're saying about
01:51:50.440 Ocasio-Cortez. This is out of control. Right. If you think about the absurd, if you slow down and you
01:51:57.440 I mean, there's really two different worlds here, Stu. We have Twitter world and regular world. Now,
01:52:02.380 in regular world, the things that they're reacting to are utterly absurd. To suggest that we should
01:52:08.920 prosecute people for creating stupid means is one of the most ridiculous ideas I've ever heard in my
01:52:16.320 entire life. Because first of all, then pretty much everybody would get shut down because everybody
01:52:21.740 has created a meme at some point or another that has made fun of somebody. That's pretty much the
01:52:25.480 whole entire point of me. It's the Internet. It's the entire point of the Internet.
01:52:29.200 on defeating and prosecuting memes. God bless you. Go for that. I don't I don't think it's the best
01:52:35.560 idea out there. But but these secret groups, I mean, AOC has really just become great at building
01:52:42.340 up straw men and tearing them down. I mean, CNN reported this breathlessly, of course, you know,
01:52:47.240 that that all of these insensitive memes were happening and then kind of mentioned at the bottom
01:52:51.820 of the article that, well, we weren't able to independently verify if any of the people in this
01:52:56.360 secret Facebook group are are actually anything to do with CPB at all. Think about this, Stu,
01:53:02.720 of secret Facebook group. What is the secret Facebook group? It is a closed Facebook group
01:53:10.600 that literally anyone in the world can create. They make it sound like it's some secret society
01:53:16.580 that has been deviously conceived by border patrol. No. And some random person just created a Facebook
01:53:24.080 group and called it that. We have no idea who it could be a 13 year old in their basement. We have
01:53:28.900 no idea who this is. And yet this is lead news across the mainstream media. That's the sorry state
01:53:36.340 that we're we're in today. It really is incredible. And I am and I will say that Ocasio-Cortez after this
01:53:43.100 because she was asked about the abuse that she had in the facility. And she did mention the Facebook
01:53:48.980 group, which is, you know, ridiculous. Another thing that she actually mentioned as well, though,
01:53:53.520 was, uh, selfies. She was a victim of selfie abuse. Now, selfie abuse, if you're not familiar
01:54:01.140 with this, uh, I mean, you're going to be horrified. Uh, she said that, uh, people were, agents were
01:54:09.200 taking photos of themselves smiling with her in the background. And if that's not abuse, I just don't
01:54:16.200 know what is. I mean, I, I don't know how we're, we're allowing this to go on. I mean, this is,
01:54:22.080 she's, uh, this is, uh, she's literally saying that that's abuse that someone wanted to get a
01:54:28.200 picture with her in the background because she's a famous person. Yes. Because they were, you know,
01:54:32.860 she's basically saying that they were mocking her. Uh, she said, uh, she said she was upset about
01:54:38.520 the quote stealth selfie, uh, that was being taken. She went around in her and, and, you know,
01:54:44.200 the border agents are like, she was there. She was basically harassing us, but we know what I'm
01:54:48.080 going to do. She's in Congress. Like, but we wanted to tell her to stop, but you know, we didn't know
01:54:51.180 what we were supposed to do. And that goes back again to speaking truth to power. Like that is,
01:54:56.220 she acts as if she's this person who's like uncovering all of these things. First of all,
01:55:02.100 when we talk about the secret Facebook group, someone got the password to a group that anyone
01:55:06.300 can post and secret groups are not secret. They're just private. So you can't see the post unless
01:55:11.100 you get the password or someone got, or got an invite. Somebody got an invite or leaked it to
01:55:15.360 ProPublica. Who knows who this is? We, we don't know who it is. Um, but it could be ProPublica for
01:55:20.860 all we know. It's true. Yes. It was, I think it was 9,500 people, less than 10,000 people are in it.
01:55:28.360 And we don't know. Again, maybe it did start with actual border guards. You know, they only give
01:55:33.640 about five or six examples in the story, at least that I read from ProPublica. And they were like rude
01:55:39.420 and they were, you know, like, do I love the idea that in our society, this stuff's going on? No,
01:55:46.180 but it was not the end. I mean, it was not threatening. It was not death threats or anything
01:55:49.940 close to that. The biggest threat in there, as we were talking about earlier, was one of the people
01:55:55.320 on the, one of the commenters under the story. So someone posts a story, one commenter on the story,
01:56:02.600 a commenter wrote, they, someone should throw a burrito at her, which again, I think could be
01:56:08.780 delicious. A comment of it. Well, yes, exactly. I mean, and that's honestly, that's minimal abuse
01:56:13.480 from what is typical on Facebook. Look at what conservative women get on Facebook. Oh my God,
01:56:18.180 Dana Lash. Oh my God. The things that have been said about her and her family, not even close.
01:56:23.880 All this is, is pushing a narrative. And when you have to go to a secret Facebook group to sort of
01:56:30.080 build up these images of what's actually happening there to, to, to validate your theory that these
01:56:38.020 are concentration camps. I mean, I think it's time that people need to pull back here a little bit
01:56:43.460 and use some common sense. Okay. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Are these happy,
01:56:48.120 fun daycares? Probably not, but that's not what they're designed to be. No. You know, when you come
01:56:53.200 over across the border illegally, you're not supposed to get a stay at the Ritz Carlton or at,
01:56:57.080 why not? You know what? I think it's in the constitution, Dan. The Ritz Carlton is in the
01:57:00.860 constitution. If you look on the back of it, you'll see it there. I got to go, Dan. We got it.
01:57:05.060 We're running out of time. I want to point people though, to faithwire.com because you have on the
01:57:08.580 front page, these interviews, including the interview about how the border agents have been
01:57:12.540 actually buying and using their own money for goods and services here for these, for these
01:57:18.940 immigrants. This is a, something you're not getting from the mainstream media. You can check it out
01:57:23.280 at faithwire.com. Dan, thanks for coming on. All right. Thanks, dude. All right.
01:57:26.840 Back in a second. You're listening to Glenn Beck.
01:57:41.960 Mississippi is getting sued over a new law that says that people who make veggie burgers and
01:57:47.800 meatless meatballs can't use those terms anymore because apparently the people of Mississippi are
01:57:53.480 too stupid to know that a meatless meatball isn't actually made of meat.
01:57:58.240 I really, you don't need the government to control every aspect of your life. This is,
01:58:02.120 I mean, it's insane. Like this is, again, it's progressivism coming from the other side and it
01:58:06.920 does happen. I like Arby's approach a little bit better though. The meat, you know, this whole
01:58:11.360 impossible burger thing where they're having the plant-based meats, they've gone the other way.
01:58:16.180 Instead of plant-based meats, they're making meat-based plants. The merit is a carrot that's actually
01:58:23.680 made of meat. That's America. The merit.
01:58:28.020 You're listening to Glenn Beck.
