00:48:57.020so tell me about him so if you're not within the financial circles you may not have heard of him but he is he's quite legendary within financial circles he is a hedge fund manager
00:49:07.820uh of a firm called gmo not the gmos you're thinking of it stands for grantham and mayo and somebody else and uh and he has been
00:49:17.880um sort of lauded for calling all the bubbles so he's the one who called the tech bubble and he's called the housing bubble
00:49:26.120now to be fair there's always a bubble so he's always calling something and he just kind of sits
00:49:30.220back and waits and and gets that but he's been very successful and so he himself is a billionaire
00:49:34.840which you know is great it's fine if we had normal billionaires glad i remember a time when billionaires
00:49:41.980just went off and they bought super yachts and racehorses and hoarded arts and art and just basically
00:49:48.740left us alone but the billionaires don't want to do that anymore they think they are very smart they've got you
00:49:55.260did really well in one domain and now they have to fix the planet and that's why i brought this to your attention
00:50:01.020because jeremy grantham many years ago um started getting into what i would consider climate cultism and decided he was
00:50:11.080going to over time give away most of his billion dollar fortune to fund climate initiatives but he has been coming out
00:50:18.980lately with these you know on podcasts with pieces actually on their hedge fund website that he thinks
00:50:27.200that there is going to be utter destruction in the next you know we have 100 to 150 years to act he says
00:50:33.400but there is a glimmer of hope and he says on this piece the glimmer of hope is a declining population
00:50:40.380he believes if we can get the population down to now let's just remind everybody where we are
00:50:46.820we've got about 8 billion people on this planet and the projections are over you know the next however many years
00:50:53.340it's going to grow to 10 billion he thinks that we really need to get down to 2 billion people on this planet
00:51:02.180so a quarter is that bigger or smaller than eight i'm not sure i don't common core math a cookie monster
00:51:09.780but i think it's about a quarter we are today okay cookies uh all right so so and what does he think
00:51:22.460is going to cause this so basically and again this is kind of taking his financial modeling about
00:51:30.180things coming back to averages and and going through all of these kind of permutations and so
00:51:36.120he says look there is a finite number of resources we cannot have exponential population growth we have
00:51:43.880100 to 150 years to solve the problem but if we could just you know get the population down oh by the
00:51:50.880way you know green energy isn't just going to do this population isn't going to do this we have to have
00:51:56.220a goldilocks scenario so you also have to have what is called degrowth as degrowth movement where
00:52:03.120basically not only does the population go down but you cut back on your consumption and we go back
00:52:09.360to living i guess like we did in the stone ages or something like that and if we want to preserve
00:52:14.580life on earth this is really the only way that this is going to happen by this moving in this direction
00:52:21.100and both by the way leadership alone isn't going to do this we really need to be forceful and let
00:52:27.020people know you can't have a good time you can't have babies we just have to to let the world go down
00:52:33.580and be about a quarter of what it is today in the next so 100 150 200 years you pick it let's let's talk
00:52:42.000about degrowth here for a second because that's absolutely what is happening that's what the the
00:52:46.920experts are doing to us right now and um are you familiar with i think it's the thucides uh paradox
00:52:54.660it the thucides was looking at you know ancient wars and ancient civilizations and he himself was
00:53:01.320ancient and he said you know when the one power is rising and an old power is falling there that is
00:53:10.460the time when there's going to be conflict okay because one is just going to say take them and the
00:53:17.180other one's still trying to defend themselves and so it's a mass slaughter and uh to to stop that
00:53:24.300the theory is what you need to do when there's a rising power let's say i don't know pick one china
00:53:31.180and a falling power which just pick one out of let's say america you dismantle america from the
00:53:40.880inside make sure that its war machine could no longer fight wars make sure that its economy is
00:53:48.020crushed from the inside so you crush everything um and the rising power helps you crush them
00:53:56.860to avoid war and i think that's exactly what's happening to us right now

00:54:48.260beings and and being innovative that we have expanded people's lifespans what's been going on
00:54:54.300on earth has has created more prosperity and bigger lifespans not the opposite so all of a sudden say
00:55:00.980i'm sorry but this kid this isn't sustainable you guys don't know what you're doing but i know what i'm
00:55:06.720doing and i think that we need to just you know have the population fall off a cliff is just it's
00:55:13.340amazing to me it's malthusian it is malthusian it's 100 it's malthusian yep the the the whole movement
00:55:21.060is malthusian listen you know and i know the people who are pushing uh for ai and making way and trying
00:55:29.540to prepare our society to take you know money from the government so we could have everybody on you know

00:56:15.600as you said is going to just consume exponential amounts of power and which is why some of the big
00:56:21.760guys have started investing by the way in nuclear power data centers you're they're going back to what
00:56:27.640many of us have been talking about forever that that is the future if you want clean energy
00:56:31.700so the idea that you can have the same kinds of people saying oh you know we have this crisis
00:56:38.000and oh by the way we're doing these things that is going to exponentially increase the amount of
00:56:43.360energy that's being used not here just here in the u.s but around the globe to a place that we've never
00:56:48.040seen before says one of these sides doesn't make sense and this is an equation that needs to balance here
00:56:54.660what what one more thing i i gotta go back to what president o biden's uh president biden said because

00:57:29.440you're on the low low end right um if you sell your home and then trade your 3.5 percent mortgage
00:57:37.340for a 7.5 percent mortgage but why the hell would you do that all right let me give you the exact tweet

00:58:40.260dollars left on your mortgage and you're trading you have three and a half percent for seven and a
00:58:45.400half percent that means that's eaten up in just a little over a year so how is that helping you out
00:58:52.700that's basically and by the way that's assuming that you could find a house that was at the same
00:58:57.980level that you were currently used to which is absolutely insane so this is a you know it's not
00:59:04.540like it's not like it's a refi either where you've got 25 percent interest rates on your credit cards
00:59:12.160and the balance if you if you're maxed out and the balance of taking that down then you could make
00:59:19.940an argument of like okay well maybe in the short term that's right because you can get the pressure
00:59:24.680off this does nothing for pressure this does not this adds pressure this is the opposite either

01:08:23.420developmental agreement a development agreement and uh it was supposed to be ratified but by the time
01:08:30.060that it came out to the public uh and the public heard about it they kicked and and got all of the
01:08:38.140members off of that board evicted they were all recalled but now that's the horse on the highway
01:08:46.220here is the monkey with the broadsword on top so the communist party of china is now suing this
01:08:55.580american township for breach of contract so we have the communists suing their way in to a town in america
01:09:06.140well okay so what else is new bruce baker is here he is from uh micosta environmental and security
01:09:16.860alliance he's the president of that and he has all the details on this uh wow bruce i've never heard

01:09:30.620an honor to be talking with you and i i appreciate this opportunity to bring this forward thank you
01:09:36.780you're you're right yes uh you're right though um there was a a development agreement that was in my
01:09:45.900view uh improperly executed between goshen and the prior the old township board in particular not even
01:09:55.500really with the board just with the supervisor and then attested by the clerk and so um what happened
01:10:04.220was um the township supervisor was working on this development agreement um with goshen and he brought
01:10:13.980what was called a first draft of the development agreement to an august 1st meeting of the board
01:10:20.700they discussed the first draft and then but it wasn't complete first draft like a rough draft not
01:10:27.020complete so the board approved for the supervisor to continue working with goshen the ccp tide
01:10:35.740ev and whatever uh lithium battery company um to continue uh working with goshen to finalize
01:10:44.700that development agreement and and it wasn't just some small minor uh finalizing it was the terms and
01:10:51.500conditions is what they approved for him to finalize that right okay and so and then obviously you know
01:10:59.020glenn you would need okay you have a rough or first draft they say supervisor go finalize it with the
01:11:04.620company goshen and then of course bring that back in a final version so that the board and the public can
01:11:11.900review it and so that they can then vote that the board in a public meeting can vote on it that
01:11:18.220never happened well i mean even the communist even the communist state of michigan has an open meetings
01:11:24.620act don't they i mean where you have to have everything done in public yes okay that's exactly
01:11:30.620what it is the open in the michigan statue open meetings act requires this is a public body the
01:11:35.980township board is a public body they're required to have all decisions discussions and votes made in
01:11:44.620a public forum in a public meeting you know with proper notification all that so what happened glenn is
01:11:50.460just three weeks after the board told jim chapman the the then supervisor and by the way he was under a
01:11:57.900recall um process at that time he was up he was wow a month for me so he was he's trying to jam this
01:12:05.420thing through and they had lots of pressure on him to jam this thing through why because goshen
01:12:11.500wouldn't get 125 million dollars of michigan cip grant money if they didn't have oh my gosh
01:12:19.980so they knew they had to jam before they got pulled before they you know potentially were going to get
01:12:26.060you know thrown out of office which is exactly what happened all five of the eligible board members
01:12:31.740did get recalled and thrown out of office and replaced but anyways so three weeks so they reviewed
01:12:38.460the the first draft of the agreement on august 1st and then on august 22nd jim chapman signed a final
01:12:47.740agreement and who was the other signer on there chen lee the president of goshen okay i i believe he's a ccp
01:12:56.460member himself but or lee chen chen lee anyways he signed it jim chapman signed it the clerk attested
01:13:04.700to jim's signature so there's three signatures on the document but this was on august 22nd there was
01:13:10.860no meeting between no meeting of the board between august 1st and august 22nd and so um so that final
01:13:20.940document never came back to the board for discussion for review for public comment i mean that's the
01:13:27.980most important thing this is a board that's supposed to be working for the people but instead
01:13:31.820they do this behind the scenes back door deal um to get this thing signed why because there's a lot
01:13:38.060of money writing on it right and they just want it done you know jim chapman and the old board and
01:13:43.420and uh they they were kind of characterized by not listening to the public they they repeatedly the
01:13:52.940public asked just do a survey get the public's opinion about this notion they refused to every
01:13:58.540surrounding township did surveys regarding this goshen plant but green charter township under the old
01:14:04.860board refused to even do a survey all of the surveys they came back 60 70 80 percent that they didn't
01:14:11.980want the goshen facility here and even an outside company came in and did a survey in green township
01:14:17.900and that came back like 80 90 percent people didn't want that ocean plant there it's it's not like a
01:14:23.980small little band of people who are saying you know we don't want this it's it's the vast majority but
01:14:30.860the old board they had kind of gotten brainwashed or gaslighted or well no they're just they're just
01:14:38.860doing it the way they're just doing it the way china does it which is you know one man he signs
01:14:44.780everything he makes all the decisions that's i mean that's the way you do it in china why not here
01:14:49.340so what's going to happen they've taken you to court what's going to happen here did did goshen get the
01:14:56.220money from the state okay so that's a great question they got 23.4 23.6 million dollars so not all of
01:15:05.740125 million okay the so the development agreement was put in place but i allege that it was improperly
01:15:13.500put in place okay it was signed but we believe that's a void invalid document and so they did get
01:15:21.020goshen received over 23 million dollars to purchase land now the state of michigan if this if that
01:15:25.900development agreement is is invalid the state of michigan holds a mortgage on that land and they
01:15:30.780could theoretically claw that that land back you know but anyways they didn't get the other 100
01:15:36.060million yet because they have to hit certain milestones it but one of those all of those
01:15:40.220they tell they hit those milestones they have to have a development agreement in place otherwise
01:15:44.220they're not even eligible so this federal so the new board there's a new board um who is is taking
01:15:53.260steps to um not participate like the old board did not to be as welcoming as the old board did
01:16:02.780because they ran on a no goshen position and so the new board has said we're not going to support you
01:16:08.860and so now so but the development agreement says you have to support us okay and so that's what goes
01:16:15.500in suing over in federal court right now they're saying the new board you're not supporting us
01:16:21.420like the development agreement requires you to see the old board was trying to hand tie the new board
01:16:27.900fortunately they really screwed up and they improperly executed that development agreement
01:16:33.020so in my view that and many others a lot of attorneys a lot of people who know township and
01:16:38.460open meeting act law have reviewed this and we believe that that development agreement is
01:16:43.180invalid and really goshen they're bringing it to federal court that's the first thing that they're
01:16:48.540asking the judge to rule on is this development agreement valid or not valid and and i you know
01:16:55.820just have to pray that the that the judge does the right thing the judge stands for the people
01:17:02.700that who were you know the people are the ones whose rights were trampled you know in this by
01:17:08.540not following the open meetings act so that the judge would stand with the people and say that no that
