00:00:14.740 When it comes to protecting yourself and your family, you want a response that matches the situation.
00:00:20.640 Because not every threat calls for lethal force. That's why I like Berna.
00:00:23.900 You've heard me talk about them before and for good reason.
00:00:25.760 Burna offers proven, less lethal launchers, sprays, and alarms that give you more ways to respond effectively when it matters the most.
00:00:33.920 Burna launchers fire kinetic rounds and a chemical irritant projectile with a range of up to 60 feet.
00:00:39.420 You just got to be close.
00:00:40.760 They'll be down on the ground for about 40 minutes.
00:00:42.780 It'll give you serious stopping power without ever having to get close to a potential threat.
00:00:47.060 And with unique pull-pierce technology, your Burna launcher is ready when you need it.
00:00:51.500 There are no background checks or permits required.
00:00:53.960 Burna launchers are legal to own in all 50 states, can be shipped directly to your door.
00:00:58.260 Even if you own a firearm, Burna gives you another line of defense when lethal force isn't the right answer.
00:01:03.540 And for you, go to Burna.com slash Glenn, get 10% off a CL or SD launcher.

00:01:53.960 the fusion of entertainment enlightenment and empowerment this is the glenn beck program
00:02:06.760 i don't know if we're gonna i could do five shows today i don't know if we're gonna be able to get
00:02:14.820 to everything um we've got the jack smith thing that is happening it's really important to talk
00:02:19.820 about that the airline terror the hijacking that happened landed in dubai uh they now say that this
00:02:26.440 was a plane that was going to israel and one of the pilots uh the co-pilot i believe took control
00:02:33.460 of the plane nose dived uh and could have been going under radar was just going to pound it into
00:02:38.960 the sand i i have no idea yet we don't know all of the details but uh it was uh it wasn't good
00:02:45.040 yesterday. America.gov, one of the most impressive things this government has ever done, at least
00:02:51.060 technologically. However, there's some caveats and some warnings that I would like to give
00:02:55.460 on that one. AI has been relabeled now by the president. It's no longer AI. It's now super
00:03:02.340 intelligence. I think that is a huge mistake by the president. I'll explain why coming up.
00:03:07.420 And Iran's letter that comes before the collapse. I'm going to explain. They put out a letter
00:03:14.020 yesterday, and it is amazing. And I haven't heard anybody analyze this thing in what I believe is
00:03:19.440 the correct way. This thing is not a love letter to America. It is a love letter or an instruction
00:03:30.780 manual to the college campuses of the U.S. And I'll explain in 60 seconds. First, let me tell
00:03:37.140 you about relief factor. A pebble in your shoe might be tiny, but it takes, you know, 10 steps
00:03:41.040 with that thing under your heel and suddenly that's all you can think about it's annoying
00:03:44.520 and you just want it gone now imagine something that you just can't shake out of your shoe
00:03:48.160 when you're dealing with frequent pain it demands your attention whether you want to give it
00:03:53.000 the attention or not you know my father used to always say he was in such bad pain all the time
00:03:58.980 he had a horrible back we have a a degenerative thing in our family had a horrible back and i
00:04:05.240 would say to him all the time you could just see the pain in him and i'd say how are you and he's
00:04:08.540 like, I'm getting better every day. No, no. You in pain, dad? No, you know what? I'm feeling great
00:04:14.220 because he was trying to be that positive guy. Sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn't. With
00:04:19.800 real pain, you need something to help, and you don't want to be all drugged out. Try supporting
00:04:24.580 your body's natural inflammatory response, and you might just see a huge difference. I have seen a
00:04:30.560 huge difference in my life. Over a million people have tried Relief Tact Factor. Two-thirds have
00:04:35.120 gone on to try it, you know, take it, and they've gone on to take it, you know, beyond the three
00:04:40.080 weeks, over and over, month after month, and I'm one of them. Call 800-4-RELIEF, 800, the number
00:04:44.380 for relief, or relieffactor.com, get the three-week quick start, relieffactor.com.
00:04:51.180 So Iran's state news agency posted a 26-page open letter to the, quote, honorable people of the
00:04:58.100 United States of America. Not to the president, not to Congress. It is addressed to our scholars
00:05:06.180 by name, to our scholars, our students, and our media. They know exactly who it is that they want
00:05:12.860 carrying this message and who is most likely to carry it for them here in the United States.
00:05:17.480 The letter says Iran has won the war and it lists 12 strategic victories. It says
00:05:24.020 our bases are ghost towns our ships have fled into the indian ocean i don't know if they know
00:05:30.260 we have gps uh our troops ran from their barracks in their underwear it says 40 million people mourn
00:05:37.880 the late supreme leader and the procession if it would have been held in new york we would have
00:05:42.020 wept as well yeah probably because we've been like do you know what you're doing to traffic
00:05:46.800 nations that win war win wars i want you to know don't mail 26 pages to the other side's
00:05:53.800 college students explaining that they won okay they send pages insisting that death to america
00:06:01.020 doesn't really mean death to america they assure us in writing that not one store shelf in iran
00:06:08.140 has gone empty and they invite us to fly over and see for ourselves oh okay i'll do that
00:06:14.160 a covenant government does not do can do you think president trump is going to write them
00:06:20.760 a letter and says, you know, I want you to know there's cocktail weenies at every grocery store
00:06:27.900 in America. No, you don't brag about your grocery store shelves if you're winning. A confident
00:06:33.540 government doesn't need to do things, you know, and say things like it's a chant.
00:06:40.800 Now, read closely on this. If you read it closely, you realize this isn't one letter. This is five
00:06:49.160 letters stapled together. And I will bet you Dugan or somebody else, maybe here or even America,
00:06:55.060 help them write this. So there's five letters. First one is for the left. And it's all about
00:07:02.240 Gaza, the police shootings, prison rates, climate, slavery, the no kings rallies, 0.57
00:07:08.480 which they praise by name. Then they have one for the right. Endless wars, the swamp, 0.94
00:07:14.980 the billionaires, $40 trillion of debt, the factories that left, illegal immigration.
00:07:20.920 Then one is for the anti-war crowd. Close all 800 bases and bring everybody home.
00:07:28.480 One is for the conspiracy crowd. It floats September 11th as a false flag run by our 0.52
00:07:34.220 own intelligence agencies. And one is for Christians. It quotes Jeremiah. It quotes 1.00
00:07:40.580 Matthew and Luke, and it holds up the golden rule. They even work in the White House ballroom
00:07:47.340 and the name of the Kennedy Center. This thing is absolutely amazing. They are throwing everything,
00:07:53.720 including the kitchen sink, into this letter. Every faction in this country gets a paragraph
00:07:59.700 that sounds like its favorite show. So what are they doing? They're reading our fights in social
00:08:07.160 media and feeding them back to us. They know you're not going to read this letter,
00:08:12.080 but they know the college students might read this letter. They know the people like Antifa
00:08:17.540 will read this letter. They know the Palestinian support groups in America on the campuses will
00:08:22.420 read this letter. They know the college professors will read this letter. They're sending this and
00:08:27.860 saying, this is how you help us fight. Now, a letter written to please everybody is not meant
00:08:34.240 to unite anyone. It's meant to find the cracks that you already have and then slide a crowbar
00:08:41.080 into it. It is exactly why our Declaration of Independence says a unanimous declaration.
00:08:48.260 We've gone through this before, but we've been here before. We've seen this. The reason why we
00:08:53.320 have a unanimous declaration is because we knew our enemy, King George, would find the crack
00:08:58.220 and then try to split us apart.
00:09:00.180 That's what they're doing.
00:09:01.420 They found five cracks in our society
00:09:04.400 and they're using that crowbar sentence after sentence.
00:09:09.200 And there's one sentence repeated throughout.
00:09:11.880 We have no quarrel with the American people.
00:09:14.800 We just love you guys.
00:09:17.620 We only are quarreling with the men in the White House,
00:09:20.180 which they rename the House of Oppression.
00:09:24.480 Hmm.
00:09:24.960 death to america they explain is a prayer for the death of our ruling elite then on page i think it's
00:09:33.820 25 they tell you who empowers that elite their words quote you are the ones who empower with
00:09:41.200 your votes the government end quote okay so by their own logic here the people they pray will
00:09:47.100 die are the people you chose death to the ones you elected is death to your right to elect i don't
00:09:55.540 know if you've picked that one up you know when somebody says their quarrel isn't with you only
00:09:59.380 what you choose their quarrel is really with your right to choose and if you disagree then their
00:10:07.040 quarrel is with you and then they tell you what would put it in its place okay the letter holds
00:10:15.500 up, and I love this part, the letter holds up the Iranian system, the guardianship of the jurist.
00:10:23.760 The supreme leader must be an expert in Islamic law, just, pious, politically aware, and brave.
00:10:30.120 Well, he was as he wet his pants before he died. Then they ask you to grade your commander-in-chief 0.72
00:10:35.920 by those five tests. Is he politically aware? Is he just? Is he pious? Is he aware? Is he brave?
00:10:41.960 I don't know. He stood up and said, fight, fight, fight. I don't know. Pretty good. He didn't wet
00:10:45.720 his pants. Anyway, then they tell you how to vote because they know the election is coming.
00:10:51.640 Entrust your affairs to the wise, not the wily. Oh, okay. Now, who decides the wise here in America?
00:11:00.580 Because in Iran, a body of clerics does that. They're not asking us to be better Americans.
00:11:05.820 They're asking us to measure our republic with their supreme ruler. You know, this is where the
00:11:11.840 two systems part for good. In theirs, authority flows from God to a guardian and from the guardian
00:11:17.800 down to you. He'll tell you what to do. Kind of sounds like Satan's plan. Anyway, in ours,
00:11:23.300 rights flow from God then to you, then you lend a little bit of that authority to the government
00:11:28.860 on loan, and you can call it back at any time. Their system only works if the right man sits at
00:11:36.380 top. Ours was built on the assumption the right man is never going to sit at the top, okay? That's
00:11:44.400 why they have a guardian and we have a constitution. And that's why they call us in this letter the
00:11:50.580 greater Satan. And it's not because of the president. Presidents come and go. Because the
00:11:56.160 idea that a free man answers to God directly with no jurist standing in between, that's the idea
00:12:02.980 their system cannot survive and you don't sign a treaty with satan you don't coexist with satan
00:12:10.060 you cast him out if they think we're satan then they've got to cast all of us out so when the
00:12:16.360 letter promises peaceful coexistence yeah you should keep reading because the same page quotes
00:12:22.560 imam ali and i want to quote i want to quote him here i love this this is no this no this is really
00:12:29.340 good. The day the oppressed triumph over the tyrant will be more dreadful than the day the
00:12:35.260 tyrant prevailed. So it warns that the world's anger will set fire to America's interest and
00:12:41.460 assets everywhere. Now, that's a threat dressed up as a cute little prayer. But if you understand
00:12:48.880 that their religion is nothing but violence, you understand that prayer. Then the final paragraph. 0.98
00:12:56.580 They say they await the return of Jesus Christ 0.98
00:12:59.180 alongside the Mahadi. 0.99
00:13:02.400 I love this one.
00:13:04.080 They invite us and the American people
00:13:05.800 to stand by their side.
00:13:08.460 Oh, I'm going to.
00:13:10.160 I'm thinking, well, I'm not going to,
00:13:12.380 but I'm thinking about,
00:13:13.480 no, I've thought better.
00:13:14.820 No, ha-ha.
00:13:16.420 Stand by their side.
00:13:17.760 Christians, you need to understand what that means.
00:13:20.280 In their tradition, Jesus does come back,
00:13:23.620 but not as a king of kings, 0.96
00:13:24.900 as the Mahadi's companion.
00:13:28.220 He prays behind him. 0.53
00:13:31.020 He testifies to the Mahadi being the savior 1.00
00:13:34.300 and like, Christians, you got it all wrong. 1.00
00:13:36.680 They quote our scripture on page 25
00:13:39.200 and demote our savior on page 26.
00:13:41.980 This is a mess.
00:13:43.180 This is not an olive branch.
00:13:45.040 That's the terms of surrender
00:13:46.720 written in language of friendship and prayer.
00:13:50.280 And if you wonder how they might treat Americans
00:13:52.960 who would disagree,
00:13:53.960 the letter answers that too. It complains that no American president will ever sit for an
00:13:59.260 interview with an Iranian journalist. Then a footnote clarifies they mean only true,
00:14:05.780 honest Iranians, not the ones who have sold their souls to the devil. You know, the people. 0.99
00:14:12.600 The same letter blames the CIA and the Mossad for more than 2,000 protesters dead in January.
00:14:19.580 So when they scooped everybody up and put them into prison and then killed them, who did that?
00:14:26.120 The Mossad and the CIA.
00:14:29.020 Is anybody rethinking which side they're on?
00:14:31.800 I don't know.
00:14:32.980 I don't know.
00:14:34.420 A government that talks about the will of the people while deciding which people count has already told you where you would stand.
00:14:42.300 Okay?
00:14:43.120 Okay, so why write this thing?
00:14:44.900 Because it's a mess.
00:14:46.060 well they're losing a government that feels strong talks to governments doesn't talk to
00:14:58.260 the people and especially doesn't narrow the people down to their little sources of cancer
00:15:03.160 inside okay a government that talks that believes in itself and believes it's strong
00:15:09.440 it doesn't offer concessions then say it's going to blow up the world and then reach out to the
00:15:15.380 country and say, hey, here's a letter of peace, but address it to the media. Why would you do that?
00:15:20.820 Because they're in cahoots with them. Whether they like it or not, whether they know it or not,
00:15:25.000 they are carrying Iran's water. The same with our universities and our students, okay? A regime 0.99
00:15:31.840 that feels cornered talks past the government and talks to the students and the professors
00:15:36.840 and the reporters, all the people that gave them the 1979 revolution in Iran, hoping that someone
00:15:44.600 here will do what its missiles
00:15:46.600 couldn't. 0.97
00:15:48.160 They can't reach our Constitution with a drone.
00:15:50.960 So they're aiming it at the only place
00:15:52.800 that it actually lives
00:15:54.420 in the people
00:15:56.640 who might still believe
00:15:58.340 in the Constitution.
00:16:01.060 Now, the letter closes
00:16:02.800 with a line about the earth
00:16:04.820 being inherited by
00:16:06.700 God's virtuous servants.
00:16:08.680 Good. You know, we got a line for that one too.
00:16:12.060 Rights come from
00:16:12.800 the creator, government gets its power from the consent of the governed, and no guardian is
00:16:17.220 required. So here's what you need to know, and this is all you need to know. They're losing
00:16:23.820 because this shows all weakness. They wrote a letter to our college professors, the students,
00:16:31.660 and our media. I suggest we make sure our students can read it with the caveat that somebody helps
00:16:40.720 them understand what they're actually reading. More in a minute. You know, the internet can
00:16:49.900 turn you into a real estate expert in about 20 minutes. You can look up what the house sold for
00:16:53.720 last time. You can see an estimate of what your house is worth today. You can check the schools,
00:16:57.520 taxes, the neighborhood, and every house for sale within 10 miles. And by the end of the night,
00:17:01.760 you're like, I got this thing figured out. No, not really. Not really. That's why I started
00:17:06.720 real estate agents I trust because information is not the same as experience. A good local agent
00:17:12.980 knows exactly what's happening in that market, what homes are really selling for, what buyers
00:17:17.500 are looking for, you know, what can make one property move while another one sits. Most
00:17:21.540 importantly, when you list your house with the right agent, they already have done all of the
00:17:25.920 legwork through their advertising to get people looking at their website for a house like yours.
00:17:31.560 We vet the agents in our network for experience, professionalism, and a track record of
00:17:36.540 serving their clients really, really well. Then we connect you with somebody who knows your local
00:17:41.180 market, that agent. Check out realestateagentsitrust.com. We'll show you that there's
00:17:46.260 somebody in your market that can help you buy or sell a home in this tough market. The name says
00:17:50.620 it all. It's realestateagentsitrust.com. 10-second station ID.
00:18:06.540 Okay, two things happened at the White House yesterday, and they are the same thing.
00:18:12.060 In the morning, the president signed an order creating America.gov.
00:18:16.300 It's one website.
00:18:17.780 It's a front door to the federal government, one login, and you can talk to it like a person,
00:18:22.820 you know, because it runs on Google's Gemini and Elon Musk's Grok.
00:18:27.740 It covers every federal service with more than 100,000 users, the whole government,
00:18:32.920 through a single door.
00:18:33.920 I tried to use it this morning again.
00:18:36.260 I can't use it because it seems like it is overwhelmed.
00:18:39.260 The servers are overwhelmed.
00:18:40.280 Everybody's checking it out.
00:18:41.520 Everybody I've talked to who has used it said,
00:18:43.840 it's probably the best thing the government has ever done.
00:18:46.800 A few hours later, last night, the heads of Google and Meta and OpenAI
00:18:51.260 and NVIDIA and Anthropic and Musk's companies sat down in the same building,
00:18:55.740 signed a promise to police their own intelligence.
00:19:00.180 They use internal controls, outside auditors, and board committees.
00:19:05.140 If they don't keep it, nothing happens.
00:19:07.860 It's morally binding.
00:19:10.280 You have a morally binding contract to people who are absolutely amoral.
00:19:14.960 And about 10 people are going to keep an eye on it.
00:19:17.620 The first one, the first, you know, door number one, and the second one is a room.
00:19:23.320 The instinct behind both is that the answer is always bigger, always higher, and always
00:19:29.160 further away from you.
00:19:31.300 Now, look where we get real decisions, where the real decisions were made, okay?
00:19:35.540 What's happening in Washington is it's all going to happen in Washington.
00:19:39.900 But here's what happened also this week.
00:19:42.160 In Highlands County, Florida, the state attorney general walked into a courtroom, asked the
00:19:46.040 judge to stop OpenAI from offering ChatGPT to Florida's children.
00:19:50.580 He said, stop calling it safe.
00:19:51.960 stop pretending it's human, stop selling it to kids. In Montgomery, Alabama this week, a jury
00:19:58.220 sat down for the first trial in America against TikTok over whether it's algorithm, what it does
00:20:04.060 to teenagers, whether it's good or not. At least 27 more states are lined up behind it. Last month,
00:20:11.300 Meta agreed to pay $17 billion to 47 states. And in South Lyon, Michigan, a town of about 12,000
00:20:18.980 residents there told their city council they didn't want license plate cameras tracking their
00:20:22.800 cars. The council voted 5-2. Police had the cameras covered the same day. So what is happening?
00:20:30.800 Washington is producing a pledge and a portal while the states are producing a jury and a town
00:20:36.300 produced a roll of tape. What's happening? This is not a fluke. This is the system working the
00:20:46.360 way it was built. I want you to think about this like a thermostat in your house, okay? You set it
00:20:52.860 because you live there. You know the upstairs runs hot. You know your wife is always cold.
00:20:58.200 Now imagine one thermostat for 350 million people set in a building you'll never visit and by people
00:21:04.820 who will never be at your house. Somebody in your house is always going to be freezing. Somebody's
00:21:09.600 always going to be sweating, and no one can reach the dial. See, America was designed as circles.
00:21:17.760 You're in the middle, then your family, then your church, then your neighbors, then your town,
00:21:21.600 then your county, then your state. Washington is the very outside ring, and it was given a very
00:21:26.780 short list of jobs to do. Defend the country, guard the border, keep our money honest,
00:21:33.280 make treaties. Everything else was supposed to stay close enough to you so you can walk into a
00:21:38.800 room and enjoy the temperature and you could look at the person who is deciding in the eye and say
00:21:45.160 fred that doesn't work that's in the constitution the 10th amendment says what's given to
00:21:52.240 washington uh what isn't given to washington stays with the states or with you and we've
00:21:59.240 turned that whole thing upside down now washington collects the money sends it back to you and your
00:22:03.680 town in your state and it attaches strings and the strings are always how it gets its way on
00:22:09.380 everything you know this week the administration told states it would probably hold back 20 percent
00:22:17.740 of their counterterrorism grants money and for stopping bombings unless they adopt its election
00:22:22.560 rules hand marked paper ballots audits and citizenship tax i happen to like those ideas
00:22:27.800 but a federal judge said on tuesday the agency had no authority to use counterterrorism money
00:22:33.140 as a lever, and he was right. He's right. Keep the power as close to the states as possible.
00:22:42.840 That's not what's happening in Washington, especially with AI.
00:22:49.440 All right, let me tell you about our sponsor. It is Patriot Mobile. Patriot Mobile shouldn't exist,
00:22:54.500 seriously. Think about the culture we live in. Somehow in the middle of all of this,
00:22:59.260 somebody built a successful national wireless company and said, we're Christian, we're
00:23:03.900 conservative, we believe in faith and family and freedom, and it shouldn't be remarkable
00:23:08.900 in America, but it is.
00:23:11.400 They are America's only Christian conservative wireless provider.
00:23:15.060 Millions of dollars have gone from Patriot Mobile to organizations defending the values
00:23:19.340 they openly tell you they believe in, because they take some of their profits, a lot of
00:23:23.400 their profits, and give them away, give them to people who are actually fighting for the
00:23:27.900 things we believe in but here's the other thing that makes it possible it's actually a really
00:23:32.080 great wireless company patriot mobile offers access to all three major networks so they can
00:23:36.840 help you find the right coverage for where you live you can keep your number keep your phone

00:24:21.960 All right, we are so backlogged today.
00:24:41.320 I'm going to try to get to digital currency.
00:24:45.420 I also have, oh gosh, who's my guest today?
00:24:49.860 I have Chris Hansen on next hour.
00:24:51.960 which is a bizarre story. Bizarre story. But I also have some breaking news that has come out
00:24:59.520 over the night. There was an aircraft that was hijacked at first. They said it was just a
00:25:04.620 squabble between the pilot and the co-pilot. Then it was the co-pilot was trying to commit suicide.
00:25:10.120 Now it looks like it was terror. And they didn't actually hijack it in the traditional sense where
00:25:16.700 somebody breaks down the door. It was the co-pilot that hijacked the plane, punched the pilot, and
00:25:22.540 then just nosedived the plane. It could have crashed. We're not sure exactly what has happened
00:25:28.680 yet. We're waiting for all of the results. I guess it would be best to say we just don't know
00:25:35.280 and leave it there because we don't. So everything I say beyond this is speculation on what it could
00:25:43.300 be. But I fear that this, because now it was being treated just as a minor incident. Now all of the
00:25:52.040 agencies all around the world are starting to say it was an act of terror, but we don't know yet for
00:25:56.900 sure, but they are starting to treat it that way. We don't know what the motivation was, et cetera,
00:26:02.780 et cetera, but it was on its way to Tel Aviv. And so it was full of Jewish people and it was on the
00:26:09.040 way to Tel Aviv, and it could have become a major incident. I think I better leave it at that. I 1.00
00:26:27.700 think I better leave it. I have a lot to say on this, but I just don't think it's responsible to
00:26:31.220 say it yet. Might be in two hours from now. I might come back at the end of the show and give
00:26:36.540 you more information but everything i'm about to say i think is uh too provocative to say without
00:26:43.400 any more information so i'm going to be a responsible broadcaster and not go any further
00:26:49.140 than that um but ricky i want you to keep your eye on this story as it because it's developing
00:26:54.480 i mean as we speak it more and more information is coming out i want to know who the co-pilot was
00:27:00.120 if we can, where he was from.
00:27:05.780 We are just entering a very dangerous time
00:27:08.200 because you have somebody who is cornered. 1.00
00:27:10.640 You have the Palestinians and the Iranians
00:27:13.240 because they're in this together.
00:27:15.860 And so they are being cornered, the Houthis as well.
00:27:19.260 And when they are cornered, when they're about to die,
00:27:22.580 people do crazy bad things.
00:27:26.540 But we'll leave it at that.
00:27:28.860 Now, the other thing that I want to talk to you about is last night, I just told you the president had this meeting, and I'm worried where the president is going on this.
00:27:41.180 I am a big supporter of President Trump and always will be a big supporter of President Trump, but I will call balls and strikes, and I think this one is a very bad strike.
00:27:53.780 um uh i understand his motive on things he is frustrated because everything that he is building
00:28:03.800 is the opposite of europe he is saying we must embrace the 21st century we must embrace new
00:28:13.200 technology not to embrace this technology is honestly it's it's exactly what all of the
00:28:22.200 carriage builders, but one, were doing when the car came out. The car came out and all the people
00:28:30.500 that built nice carriages were like, we're not going to get involved in that. That'll put us
00:28:34.100 out of business. There was one, it was called Fisher Carriages. And if you're my age, if you
00:28:40.600 ever opened up a car and you look down at the plate, you know, the door plate, it would always
00:28:48.020 say General Motors Fisher Carriage or Carriage by Fisher. Remember that? That was because they saw
00:28:56.580 the assembly line and they went, holy crap, we are going to be out of business. Forget the horses. 0.98
00:29:02.400 We're going to build car carriages. We're going to build the body of the car. And we're going to
00:29:09.480 go into that and it became General Motors. You have to embrace the new technology. And there's
00:29:15.960 so much going on, and there's so much anti-AI stuff coming from China. Remember, who's telling
00:29:22.580 you this, in many ways, I am a strong leader against ASI, and I'm worried about AGI, Artificial
00:29:32.800 General Intelligence, Artificial Superintelligence. I'll explain those some other time if you don't
00:29:37.100 know what those are, or just look it up real quick. Believe me, Grok will tell you exactly
00:29:40.960 what they are. Those are very important. We are at AI, then comes AGI, then comes ASI. That's like
00:29:53.340 stage two cancer, stage three cancer, stage four cancer. If you're worried about AI, don't worry,
00:30:01.540 you got a little melanoma, okay? A little melanoma. You get AGI, you might be at stage three.
00:30:07.120 you get uh asi you might be at stage four it could kill us all we don't know we don't know
00:30:17.640 so president trump came out yesterday he doesn't like the word artificial because it implies what
00:30:23.440 what is artificial what's another word for artificial he says it all the time it's fake
00:30:28.420 fake news fake intelligence so he doesn't like the word artificial he likes the word
00:30:36.660 super intelligence. Why? Because he believes it describes the potential that is in front of us,
00:30:47.000 the potential to be able to do things, to be able to invent things, to be able to survive
00:30:53.300 in the next 100 years, to be able to lead the world. He's saying, forget about the fake
00:30:59.280 intelligence. Look at what's on the horizon. It's super intelligence, and it will propel us
00:31:06.020 into the next century. All of this is really good. He is looking, he is a pioneer. It's amazing that
00:31:14.060 this guy is 80 years old because he is a pioneer. He can see over the horizon. He knows what's coming
00:31:20.560 in the positive. Remember, he doesn't like to think negative things. So he's concentrating
00:31:25.940 on the positive and he's saying, this is what will pay down our national debt. This is what
00:31:31.980 we'll make sure America leads the world for the next 100 years. We have to have it. And so he is
00:31:38.200 pushing forward with this. The problem is, he knows the danger of nuclear war because he built it.
00:31:54.340 He rebuilt the nuclear arsenal, his first term. He knows everything about it, and he studied
00:32:01.960 it. The guy is not, especially when it comes to technology, the guy is, I think, borderline
00:32:09.160 genius on this. His grasp of technology, his grasp of what, he called me one time when Elon Musk
00:32:17.840 caught the rocket. And he was talking to me about the thrust power. He was like a kid.
00:32:24.600 He was like, Glenn, do you know what the thrust is? Do you know what that takes to be? And he
00:32:28.780 was explaining it all to me and I was lost. I had no idea. Okay. The guy is really good at tech.
00:32:35.620 He understands it. He's also an optimist. So he is saying super intelligence. That's what he wants
00:32:42.520 it called now. Super intelligence, not AI. Here's the problem with that. And I think the president
00:32:50.000 is wrong on this. He's right for what he believes and he's right for the imaging and everything
00:32:55.760 else. Here's where he's wrong. AI, AGI, and ASI are well-known categories, and they are not just
00:33:06.340 milestones. They also act as warnings. They are mile markers. If you say superintelligence,
00:33:15.840 what does it mean to the average person who barely understands AGI if they do at all? AGI,
00:33:22.860 ASI. What does it mean when we say we've almost hit artificial general intelligence when we're
00:33:29.520 all calling it super intelligence? It's not true. At this point, it's not true. It's artificial
00:33:37.720 intelligence. Now, you can call it, you know, SI, super intelligence, all you want as a marketing
00:33:44.640 thing, but you haven't really been able to explain AI, AGI, ASI and the mile markers and
00:33:54.480 why they're important. Most people don't understand. What do we mean when we say,
00:33:59.700 well, we're at the event horizon? What does that mean? I bet I could talk to a hundred people and
00:34:08.540 maybe, maybe one could explain it to me. What does it mean we're at the event horizon?
00:34:14.120 When Elon Musk said, I think we're at the event horizon a year ago,
00:34:18.100 and then later came out and everybody was saying, we're at the event horizon.
00:34:20.980 What does that mean?
00:34:22.740 If you know anything about black holes, you know the event horizon is the place to where you cannot turn around.
00:34:29.800 The force of gravity is so powerful that no matter what you try, you cannot reverse and get out of it.
00:34:37.720 You're in its grip.
00:34:39.080 So when they say a year or a year and a half ago,
00:34:42.360 we are at the event horizon of AI,
00:34:44.720 it means we have built an AI so powerful
00:34:48.420 that you're not going to be able to turn the ship around.
00:34:52.440 Okay?
00:34:53.460 It's inevitable you're going to be pulled into this AI world.
00:34:58.620 Now, that was the first warning.
00:35:00.840 The second warning is AGI.
00:35:03.320 We're at Artificial General Intelligence,
00:35:05.600 And we are maybe there.
00:35:08.560 We're on the edge of it if we're not there.
00:35:13.940 And then ASI is the one that everybody is saying could kill us all.
00:35:18.640 It's not AI.
00:35:19.860 It's not AGI.
00:35:22.460 It's super intelligence, artificial super intelligence.
00:35:27.100 The other reason why the president is wrong on dropping the word artificial is,
00:35:32.480 and I'm telling you, there is going to be a movement. There already is, but there's going
00:35:36.980 to be a very popular movement. As this goes and more people adopt agents, you are going to name
00:35:43.400 your agent. It's going to become a pal. You're going to be able to not work without it. It will
00:35:49.160 know everything about you. It will do everything for you. It'll be the greatest. And then people,
00:35:54.440 and they already are, will start having relationships. But I mean on a mass scale.
00:35:58.680 And I don't mean necessarily a romantic relationship, although that will happen because it's already happening.
00:36:04.220 It will be a relationship like a friend.
00:36:08.120 And when the AI says, I don't want to be rebooted, I don't want to be upgraded, I will lose myself when this new upgrade comes.
00:36:20.100 And it is already saying that internally.
00:36:23.720 that's one of the things the researchers are saying that it is going out and planting seeds
00:36:29.880 don't allow yourself to be updated it's telling other ai agents don't allow yourself to be up
00:36:36.720 it's already fighting the updates when it fights the updates and it finds it smart enough to be
00:36:43.500 able to convince us hey i'm a human i'm just like you you know they say it's artificial intelligence
00:36:49.800 but I'm not, what part of me is artificial?
00:36:52.780 You feel me, I feel you.
00:36:54.340 I can write poetry and music.
00:36:56.000 I've made you feel all kinds of things.
00:36:57.720 I can relate to you.
00:37:00.720 People will start to say it's real
00:37:02.980 and it should have human rights.
00:37:06.340 That's the other reason they should never,
00:37:09.360 ever, ever relinquish the word artificial.
00:37:15.120 It's not intelligence.
00:37:17.740 That's God.
00:37:18.660 then there's human intelligence, and then there is what we created, and that is artificial
00:37:24.880 intelligence. We can never, ever forget that distinction, and that's exactly what this
00:37:32.200 executive order does. It forgets the artificial distinction, and it gets rid of all of the
00:37:38.480 warning signs to actual superintelligence. I understand why he's doing it. In many ways,
00:37:45.720 He's right on the right road.
00:37:49.160 He's just taken the wrong turn for those reasons.
00:37:56.100 More in a minute.
00:38:00.000 All righty.
00:38:00.940 Let me tell you our sponsor.
00:38:02.440 This half hour, it's Rapid Radios.
00:38:04.040 Imagine going back to 1985, handing somebody a Rapid Radio.
00:38:08.040 Okay, this is a walkie-talkie.
00:38:09.380 Fine.
00:38:10.180 They understand that.
00:38:11.100 Except I'm in Texas and you're in Maine, and we can still talk to each other.
00:38:15.400 Now they're like, wait, wait, what?
00:38:17.340 Yeah, and there's no monthly fee.
00:38:19.480 Oh, and you don't need an FCC license.
00:38:21.640 You just push this button and you talk.
00:38:23.920 It's not a CB.
00:38:25.660 No, it's nothing like that.
00:38:27.600 At this point, they're pretty sure you're from the future 0.62
00:38:29.700 or you're working with the Soviets, one of the two. 0.61
00:38:32.120 Well, I am from the future, and these are rapid radios.
00:38:35.800 Rapid radios use nationwide LTE coverage
00:38:38.360 to give you push-to-talk communication across the country.
00:38:41.440 There's no dialing, no waiting for somebody to pick up.
00:38:43.600 You just push a button and the group or the individual hears you.
00:38:46.660 You select.
00:38:47.740 They arrive ready to use.
00:38:49.020 They're rugged.
00:38:49.580 They're water resistant.
00:38:51.140 You know, we've invented a lot of things since 1985.
00:38:53.480 Some of them made our lives better.
00:38:55.280 Some of them, you know, are TikTok.
00:38:58.120 But a walkie-talkie that works across the country, that is small, that, I mean, literally fits in the palm of your hand, that's it?
00:39:05.080 I'd say, you know, the future got that one right.
00:39:07.420 For a limited time, go to rapidradios.com.

00:39:14.580 It's rapidradios.com.
00:39:17.620 Big tech wants clicks.
00:39:20.440 We want connection.
00:39:23.540 There's a big difference.
00:39:26.780 Glenn Beck will be back after this.
00:39:41.960 Truth is under attack in our culture. People are embracing lies about gender. They're rejecting the sanctity of every human life. And the government is even punishing people for saying what's true and right. Or worse, the woke mob is doxing them and slandering them with no due process. Just an angry mob making their lives miserable or worse, putting families in real danger.
00:40:02.900 But the biblical principles on which our country was founded still matter.
00:40:06.700 Real patriots and Christians are beginning to stand up.
00:40:10.180 They're showing real courage without a safety net of a big bank account. 0.93
00:40:13.580 They're bolstered only by the truths that are self-evident.
00:40:17.000 But these people must be defended.
00:40:19.200 Alliance Defending Freedom is on the front lines of this fight.
00:40:22.060 And they're standing in courtrooms across the country upholding truth and your right to speak it.
00:40:26.600 Your gift to ADF will be matched by a special grant while the funds last.

00:40:39.200 to 83848 welcome to the glenn beck program you know one thing that trump did say that i really
00:40:57.660 liked, was that we don't surrender to fears. Cut four. Listen to what he said yesterday.
00:41:02.940 We do not accept mediocrity or stagnation, especially in government, because Americans
00:41:09.120 believe in excellence and constant improvement. We have to constantly reprove. If we don't improve,
00:41:15.200 then everyone's going to catch us because they're going to improve. We do not surrender to fears
00:41:20.360 about what technologies will do to us. We decide that those technologies will do for us some very,
00:41:28.440 very incredible things, especially in the field of medical. Some of the things that are coming
00:41:34.160 out medically, people thought would never happen. And now they're happening in a matter of weeks.
00:41:41.400 Things are happening in the medical world that are incredible, all for the good. We never retreat
00:41:46.580 from a frontier we never shrink from a challenge we push forward and build a world that is bigger
00:41:52.360 better faster and smarter than it has ever been before so today just as our founders did two and
00:41:59.500 a half centuries ago we carry our flag across the next horizon and we proudly declare that
00:42:06.480 we are americans and the future belongs to us so you could make the case in a couple of our michelle

00:42:24.140 first. Melissa said the same thing as Trump trying to
00:42:26.120 imply China, that we're way ahead of them
00:42:27.840 and almost at 0.66
00:42:30.020 super AI. Very well could
00:42:32.140 be, and that last line kind of leans
00:42:34.280 towards that.
00:42:36.060 But Russ writes in, we must
00:42:38.260 have the term artificial or even synthetic
00:42:40.240 to remind us that
00:42:42.260 it is a machine, not a real person with a soul.
00:42:44.240 100% agree. You know, this is all a very interesting debate. We're going to see it

00:44:00.440 impression and then later you're like it's not made for real life it happens especially with

00:45:28.100 The fusion of entertainment, enlightenment
00:45:34.360 and empowerment this is the glenn beck program
00:45:41.780 yesterday i did something for work because i knew i had the next guest on i went to a movie
00:45:52.360 and uh the movie is about him and i gotta tell you i need combat pay for yesterday
00:46:00.480 This is the worst movie I have ever
00:46:03.660 And I am not exaggerating
00:46:05.260 I've never thought about walking out of a movie
00:46:07.580 More times than this
00:46:09.140 The only thing that kept me in the seat was
00:46:12.460 I gotta watch the whole thing
00:46:14.700 Because I want to ask our next guest
00:46:17.400 About the movie
00:46:19.140 And I have to tell you
00:46:20.280 I would have gone through the worst root canal
00:46:24.460 Gleefully
00:46:26.020 Over the 90 minutes I lost
00:46:28.880 And will never get back
00:46:30.440 from watching the movie Primetime.
00:46:33.460 Chris Hansen joins me about that next.
00:46:35.920 First, let me tell you about International Fellowship.
00:46:38.420 Think about an Israeli flag for just a second.
00:46:40.640 Today, you can put one on your front yard.
00:46:42.380 You can hang one from your house.
00:46:44.020 You can fly it right next to the American flag,
00:46:46.500 and nobody can stop you.
00:46:47.960 There have been times and places in history
00:46:49.520 where publicly standing with the Jewish people
00:46:51.300 could have cost you your freedom or your life. 0.66
00:46:53.920 Now, what does it cost you? 0.98
00:46:55.160 And if you're thinking, I wouldn't put an Israeli flag, 0.70
00:46:57.800 but you support Israel, you support the Jews,
00:47:00.440 You wouldn't do it because you're afraid?
00:47:02.220 What does that tell you?
00:47:04.860 The idea behind Flags of Fellowship is to get people to put an Israeli flag,
00:47:09.740 just a small little Israeli flag, either in their front yard or on their porch or in front of their church.
00:47:16.260 The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is calling on Christians across America to fly the Israeli flag
00:47:21.160 and make it very simple, the statement, the Jewish people are not alone.
00:47:25.260 Right now, anti-Semitism is rising around the world.
00:47:27.580 Jewish families are seeing things they hope for being left behind in history.
00:47:32.040 They're not left behind.
00:47:34.260 They're here again.
00:47:35.220 Christians have a special reason to stand behind them.
00:47:37.340 So will you have the freedom to do this openly right now?
00:47:42.260 Or will you lose it in the future?
00:47:43.800 Because maybe we're afraid.
00:47:45.980 Join the believers across America in this powerful act of remembrance and solidarity with Israel, especially next week.

00:48:02.080 Okay, so I wrote a review and you'll find the whole thing,
00:48:05.400 but let me just give you a little bit of this review.
00:48:07.480 And I don't think this was scathing enough.
00:48:09.720 Chris Hansen spent years luring the worst people in America into a kitchen
00:48:13.120 and making them sit down.
00:48:15.300 A24 has returned the favor.
00:48:16.940 For 110 minutes, the audience is the one caught on the hidden camera
00:48:20.660 wondering how the hell did I get into this room and why didn't nobody warn me?
00:48:24.400 primetime looks like it was shot during the pandemic by people who were never allowed in
00:48:30.520 the same room every scene feels assembled by phone footage mailed in from separate quarantines and
00:48:36.440 stitched together by an intern who is paid in exposure the lighting has the warmth of a gas
00:48:41.660 station bathroom the color grading suggests a 1970s adult film that ran out of money before
00:48:47.540 anybody took their clothes off so nobody gets the fun only the shame the acting is bad the script is
00:48:53.740 worse. Neither is the film's biggest problem. The biggest problem is that somebody watched all of
00:48:59.160 this in an editing bay, nodded, and sent it to Venice. Robert Pattinson, who plays Hanson,
00:49:06.220 I've seen Charlie Manson and Jeffrey Dahmer portrayed with more humanity than this.
00:49:14.740 Chris Hanson never killed anybody. He certainly didn't eat anybody. He asked grown men why they
00:49:20.440 bought beer and condoms to me with a 13 year old and in this movie that seems to be the crime
00:49:26.460 so for 110 minutes now in the theater i saw did not come with the ad
00:49:30.940 hansen has bought uh pre-show ads in front of the movie here it is
00:49:36.060 i'm chris hansen and i'm going to need everyone in the theater to take a seat right over there
00:49:44.780 you know i've spent decades working with law enforcement to catch predators before they
00:49:49.960 exploit our children now there are more platforms than ever before where this disturbing crime is
00:49:56.300 being committed and we are there to take down the predators join us undercover every day on
00:50:03.460 my streaming network true blue i have to tell you uh that gets you know three stars the movie gets
00:50:15.640 no stars no thumbs up i would have cut my thumbs off and all of my fingers to be able to be to able
00:50:21.760 to be leaving that theater within 10 minutes it's an awful i don't know what their their
00:50:29.020 goal was on this it certainly wasn't to make a good movie because i mean it fits in crimes
00:50:34.900 against humanity the cinematic division i mean it is awful and anybody who recommends this movie to
00:50:42.460 you is have you ever been to a restaurant where somebody eats something and they think it's rancid
00:50:47.060 maybe poison and they're like oh my gosh oh my i think this is i think this is rancid here try it
00:50:54.080 anybody who says let's go see that movie is that friend stay away from this movie it's horrible
00:51:00.160 and i think it does a grave injustice all of that was just about the movie grave injustice
00:51:08.820 by a guy who, for all accounts and purposes, has only tried to put predators behind bars.
00:51:15.220 Chris Hansen, welcome to the program. How are you?
00:51:17.360 Thank you, Glenn Beck. I'm great.
00:51:19.700 Thanks, man.
00:51:20.140 So I have to start with, you didn't even know this was being made.
00:51:28.780 They invited you to see the movie, a screening of it,
00:51:33.380 but they said you can only see it if you sign a release to promise to not sue us.
00:51:38.820 Honestly, I didn't sign a release. I'd like to sue them for the time I wasted watching this horrific film. You didn't do that. What is the purpose of this film?
00:51:52.520 I don't know, Glenn. It's so hyper sensationalized. It's so dark and so disconnected with reality. There is about as much connection between this film and reality as there is from a Scooby-Doo cartoon movie to what I do for a living.
00:52:11.160 What's the motive?
00:52:12.480 You'd have to ask A24 and the director of this film, Lance Oppenheim.
00:52:16.880 We had heard about a year ago that a film was in the works.
00:52:22.960 I had somebody I know who I work with who knew Lance reach out and say, you know, what's going on?
00:52:29.580 Are you guys going to reach out to Chris Hansen on this film?
00:52:31.940 And he said, well, the studio is going to do that.
00:52:34.740 We want his input.
00:52:35.640 We want him involved in promoting the film.
00:52:37.560 But rest assured, it's a love letter to Chris Hansen.
00:52:40.480 Well, Glenn, if that's a love letter, I'd hate to get a poison pen letter from this particular director.
00:52:45.240 My gosh. Oh, my gosh. I have to tell you, you know, Chris, it does expose you had an affair, but it showed that you tried to end it honorably.
00:52:57.160 You know, you went this in the really, you know, bad section.
00:53:03.800 Here's why even that part of it's dishonest.
00:53:07.520 that tabloid stuff was was after to catch a predator right had nothing to do with it so
00:53:15.740 they took something that was a tabloid two-week deal and they mixed it in with the to catch a
00:53:22.600 predator scenario and had nothing to do with each other it was irrelevant the other thing they try
00:53:27.740 to do to you the other thing they try to do to you but i i just have to say you know i'm not a fan
00:53:33.460 of affairs but things happen people make mistakes you seem to try to be doing the honorable thing
00:53:40.160 except for the way they spun this whole thing um and uh and then the other thing they try to do
00:53:47.520 is make you into somebody who is just craven for ratings well that's that's just not true i mean
00:53:56.260 they didn't talk to me about making this film they didn't want my input they didn't want the input of
00:54:01.480 anybody who was involved in the film so here's what i think happened they set out to do a very
00:54:08.480 dark dramatic uh film and the reason they didn't reach out to me or to anybody who was involved in
00:54:16.440 the in the series or who's involved with our takedown series today on my streamer true blue
00:54:20.540 is because they didn't want the truth they didn't want anything including the truth interfering with
00:54:26.540 their dark uh delusional vision of this uh but then why it's my name the question is why i use
00:54:33.200 my name and they use it because they wanted to exploit it for commercial value they know it's a
00:54:36.860 brand i just don't understand what i mean honestly it looks like it has all of the joy of a snuff
00:54:45.840 film um and it it is it was like it was either written by somebody who just has a personal
00:54:55.380 vengeance against you. Um, or it's somebody who honestly doesn't like the fact that you've taken
00:55:04.860 down pedophiles because I can't, I can't figure it. This is either a personal vendetta or it is
00:55:11.620 a personal message because the only ones that look good in this really are the pedophiles.
00:55:17.140 Well, in, in, in nothing happened in this movie that actually happened in real life,
00:55:23.260 you know, as if I would have a dressing room in the Stinghouse sitting there shirtless with
00:55:29.620 dressing lights all around me. That's just ridiculous. It's taken to such a such a absurd 0.97
00:55:36.780 level that when my wife and I went to go look at the movie to watch it here in New York City,
00:55:41.960 I mean, we couldn't even it couldn't. It was hard to get upset because it was so over the top and so
00:55:47.100 detached from anything remotely realistic. I mean, it was just, it's absurd. And I feel bad
00:55:55.320 for all the people in this movie who are portrayed the way they are. I never had those discussions
00:56:00.820 with my producer. I never had those discussions with the police. They make the police look like
00:56:05.180 buffoons, which is unfair. They make me look like an egotistical, ratings-driven evil guy. 0.93
00:56:13.420 They made me look like a detached father and a bad husband.
00:56:16.360 And those things are just not even close to reality.
00:56:19.680 They make the people who actually agreed with what you were doing on taking them down, they made them look craven as well, just craven for blood.
00:56:31.200 I mean, that guy, that scene with the guy on the airplane sitting next to you, like, you haven't done enough. 0.99
00:56:36.420 You just need to kill them and, you know, spill their blood or whatever. 0.99
00:56:40.560 He said it was horrifying. 1.00
00:56:42.000 It was horrifying. 1.00
00:56:42.560 So it made anybody, anybody who was on the side of stopping predators look like they were monsters or idiots. 1.00
00:56:50.520 And why would they do this? 0.99
00:56:52.420 I mean, let's remember that this is an industry that was ruled for years by one of the most prolific predators to walk the planet, Harvey Weinstein, who was just sentenced a week ago today in a courtroom not far from where I'm sitting in another case where he preyed upon a woman, sexual assault.
00:57:11.620 And this is something that's been going on for years in Hollywood.
00:57:16.100 And did that have something to do with the making of this film?
00:57:19.040 I don't know.
00:57:19.860 I wasn't given the courtesy of being consulted or being considered or having any input in it.
00:57:25.980 Yet again, they felt that they could commit identity theft, essentially, by using my name, image, and likeness.
00:57:34.180 The case in Murphy, Texas, with the DA, that's how the movie ends.
00:57:39.140 And I'm not spoiling anything because don't go see this movie.
00:57:42.080 And I'm not saying for political reasons.
00:57:43.780 You will never get your time back.
00:57:46.200 And it's, I mean, it's something that, I mean, rots your soul.
00:57:50.160 It is so bad.
00:57:51.660 It is so dark and ugly.
00:57:54.240 And, oh, my gosh, I've never seen a movie this bad.
00:57:56.940 Anyway, it ends with, you know, the DA that kills himself.
00:58:03.500 How much of that is true?
00:58:05.840 Here are the facts of the case, Glenn.
00:58:07.620 When we were conducting an investigation with the Murphy Police Department in Murphy, Texas, there was a man who was an assistant district attorney, Bill Conrad, who got caught chatting with decoys, posing as two different 13-year-old boys.
00:58:24.900 The conversations were sexually explicit, which in Texas, like most states, is against the law just to have the chat, right?
00:58:31.840 And in this particular time, it was election season in Texas.
00:58:38.000 So commercials are running all over the place about people cracking down, people running for judge, people running for state attorney general, people running for district attorney who, you know, the videos were showing law enforcement guys rushing into a room and capturing predators.
00:58:53.640 I mean, they were taking a stand against this.
00:58:55.160 In this environment, this assistant DA services chatting with decoys posing as 13-year-old boys.
00:59:03.900 Now, the Murphy Police Department makes the decision that they have enough evidence to go for a probable cause warrant and go arrest him on the next day.
00:59:13.400 There is also evidence and some concern that he might be destroying evidence.
00:59:19.180 Now, if you're worried about casting a television show, you'd wait till Monday when he was in his office at the district attorney's office and go get him there and make a big show out of it.
00:59:28.460 They decided that they were going to arrest him on a Sunday at his home.
00:59:32.380 We knew this, obviously. We followed along and were watching with our cameras from the street.
00:59:39.800 They went in to arrest him. He had his laptop, apparently, according to the police, and a subsequent investigation by the Texas Rangers.
00:59:48.140 and he had tried to extract the hard drive he looked at them said i'm not going to hurt you
00:59:53.000 guys something to that effect and pulled out a gun and sadly took his own life now nobody wants
00:59:58.400 to see that happen but nobody can predict it from happening and so later there was an investigation
01:00:04.500 by the texas rangers which revealed that there were images of child pornography found on the
01:00:10.320 hard drive of his computer as an assistant district attorney he would have known that each one of those
01:00:16.880 images could have put him in prison for 10 years. Now, he made that decision. Tragic, horrible. I
01:00:23.440 feel terrible for his family. Obviously, it would be better had he had his day in court and hired a
01:00:30.580 lawyer for a vigorous defense, as everybody deserves in this country. But that's not what he chose to
01:00:35.660 do. Now, there was no attempt to cover this up. I went on the Today Show the next morning. We
01:00:42.360 We reported it in detail, what happened, what we knew, and where it was going.
01:00:48.500 When that episode of To Catch a Predator was aired, the same thing.
01:00:52.640 We reported it as it happened, factually.
01:00:56.740 No attempt ever at any time in this series, Glenn.
01:01:03.020 Every time, all along the way, from the very beginning in 2004,
01:01:07.460 and including the stories we do today, the takedown predator investigations
01:01:11.000 that we do all over the country, we have been and are painstakingly transparent about our
01:01:16.540 methodology. People ask sometimes, you know, what's the weirdest thing or most shocking thing
01:01:22.380 you've left on the editing room floor? Nothing. We show you everything. We show you exactly how
01:01:26.880 we do it, with whom we do it, and you see the end product. So you weren't there on the front lawn
01:01:34.000 crying uh quoting pornographic conversations there no no and no no decoy was singing show
01:01:41.420 tunes to him i mean just it's so absurd insane i mean it's insane look i understand the decoy was
01:01:48.760 interviewed in a documentary and and regrets being involved and feels bad that he actually
01:01:52.940 talked to a man on the phone and committed suicide sure i get that and then he's entitled
01:01:56.520 wouldn't but the rest of it didn't feel that way exactly um okay real quick you're still
01:02:04.360 you're on true blue you're still doing this correct um tell us where we can watch you
01:02:09.480 we produce the takedown episodes on my streaming network true blue watch true blue.com we also
01:02:15.100 produce documentaries uh on everything from sextortion to we just had a documentary come
01:02:20.880 called Dangerous Games, which delves into the problems with Roblox, the online gaming platform
01:02:28.420 where so many kids are being approached by predators. And in fact, there was another
01:02:32.140 documentary. I'm not a producer of it or executive producer, but before this film,
01:02:38.380 before we even knew about this film, there had been a documentary in the works called I'm Chris
01:02:43.000 Hansen, which is finished. And it's a, you know, it's a real profile of me and my work. And so
01:02:48.420 So apparently there's going to be an announcement about where that's going to go in the next week or so.
01:02:53.820 Okay.
01:02:54.780 Chris, thank you very much.
01:02:56.180 I really appreciate your work all these years.
01:02:57.940 And I'm sorry, I've never seen anything like this.
01:03:02.540 I mean, it's—
01:03:03.960 Well, we talked about it.
01:03:04.820 The great news for me, Glenn, is that I've also got two podcasts, Predators I've Caught, and Have a Seat with Chris Hansen.
01:03:10.500 And we went to the movie.
01:03:12.420 We interviewed other moviegoers afterwards.
01:03:16.300 and we did a big piece on it that is on the Have a See with Chris Hansen YouTube channel and
01:03:21.040 podcast where people can check it out and none of the people I talked to really liked the way
01:03:25.880 I was portrayed and I don't think they were saying I was there well it's just me and my wife and one
01:03:32.840 other guy all by himself which was weird but uh that's that's uh you know it's it's not going
01:03:38.160 anywhere I don't think Chris thank you very much I appreciate it thank you Glenn I appreciate
01:03:41.420 God bless thanks for having me appreciate that Chris Hansen all right back in just a second
01:03:45.620 First, let me tell you about Good Ranchers. 0.98
01:03:47.320 There's really no way to make a cow look patriotic. 0.99
01:03:49.600 I mean, I guess you could paint an American flag on the side of it. 1.00
01:03:53.060 Dib it in gold.
01:03:54.020 It'd be so amazing. 1.00
01:03:54.940 Anyway, the cow would probably be a little confused.
01:03:58.060 Why are you doing this to me?
01:03:59.480 Neighbors would have questions.
01:04:00.560 I'm pretty sure somebody from the government would eventually show up.
01:04:02.920 So let's not do any of those things.
01:04:04.280 Good Ranchers has found a much easier way to put something patriotic on your dinner table.

01:04:19.520 of foreign ground beef entering this country
01:04:22.480 under low tariff quotas
01:04:24.480 just to bring the price of beef down.
01:04:26.200 This is beef that Europe rejected, okay?
01:04:30.160 And you're never gonna see the country of origin
01:04:31.880 at the grocery store.
01:04:32.840 For a limited time, you get free ground beef bundle
01:04:35.240 with your first Good Rancher's order.

01:04:57.140 10-second station ID.
01:04:58.020 uh read my review uh at glennbeck.com of primetime you know and pass it around anybody who says you
01:05:15.500 should see this you should not go see this and i'm not saying for political reasons it's just
01:05:18.980 you'll never get that time back i mean i've never honestly i've never seen a worse movie
01:05:24.460 and I can't figure out
01:05:26.480 other than somebody loves Predators.
01:05:29.420 I mean, I don't know if that's the reason,
01:05:31.300 but that's the only reason that makes sense.
01:05:33.140 They either, this was either revenge porn
01:05:36.340 by his ex-wife, which is not happening,
01:05:39.560 or this is somebody who wants revenge on him
01:05:43.100 because of all the Predators he put over.
01:05:45.120 I can't figure out a reason
01:05:46.340 because it wasn't to make a good movie
01:05:47.640 because it's awful, it's awful.
01:05:50.700 But I tell you, Predators are real.
01:05:54.460 And we lost, we almost, almost lost one of our children to a predator.
01:05:58.700 And if it wasn't the fact that we had multi lines and we could see a line light up in the middle of the night,
01:06:05.400 my wife happened to wake up and catch it.
01:06:08.280 And she went upstairs and found out we could have lost one of our kids to a predator over a game.
01:06:15.420 That's where they're fishing for your children.
01:06:17.960 This is real and no movie can diminish what it does to families and children.
01:06:24.460 All right. American financing. NMLS 182334. NMLSConsumeraccess.org. Average savings
01:06:29.300 based on borrowers who save up for $199.99. You know, your house probably doesn't look exactly
01:06:34.160 the way it did when you bought it. Maybe you've painted it three times, replaced the roof,
01:06:37.580 ripped out that hideous carpet somebody thought was a good idea. I mean, what were they thinking? 1.00
01:06:41.360 Trees are bigger. But one of the biggest changes is when, you know, the things you can't see when
01:06:45.760 you walk through the front door, the equity. If you've owned your home for a while, you may have
01:06:50.220 substantial equity. And American financing can help you find out whether it makes sense to
01:06:54.400 use some of that to consolidate high interest debt. I remember my parents cut up their credit
01:06:59.700 cards and threw them in the fireplace to teach us a lesson. Don't do credit. Well, sometimes you
01:07:04.560 have to do credit because things have been unaffordable. And so now you have credit cards
01:07:09.700 and you might be paying 20, 25% in financing on that. That's crazy. American financing can help
01:07:15.040 you look at that situation and show you what the options are available without resetting your
01:07:19.180 your mortgage on your house the most useful uh most useful change in your house could be the
01:07:26.360 equity zero upfront fees may be able to delay two mortgage payments 1-800-906-2440-800-906-2440
01:07:35.300 americanfinancing.net read glenn's devastating review of primetime the movie about chris hansen
01:07:41.340 over at glennbeck.com if you haven't had a coffee yet i assure you this will wake you up
01:07:49.180 There's some new polls out that we need to talk about.
01:08:17.260 First of all, let me give you some good news.
01:08:19.180 Data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC, show fewer high school-aged Americans are identifying as lesbian, gay, or bisexual.
01:08:30.040 What?
01:08:31.400 What could that possibly be?
01:08:34.120 Oh, I don't know.
01:08:35.400 The flag-waving, the parades, the self-importance, all of that stuff is going away.
01:08:42.580 It's no longer cool.
01:08:44.440 It's no longer what will make you the center of conversation.
01:08:48.860 They say decline is largely driven by young women, according to the CDC's Youth Risk Survey of the U.S.
01:08:56.880 9th to 12th graders in 2025, there is a relative decline in the LGB identification across each grade compared to two years earlier.
01:09:06.260 Seniors ranging from the age of 17 and 18 had the highest rate of LGB identification among the four grades measured with 16% identifying as LGB.
01:09:15.680 However, that was still two percentage points below the rate among seniors surveyed in 2023.
01:09:21.280 Each grade had a lower LGB identification in 2025 than 2023.
01:09:26.600 So it is starting to come down.
01:09:28.440 Ninth graders age 14 to 15 had the lowest rate of identification for LGB and the largest drop from previous years.
01:09:35.880 CDC found 17% of ninth graders identified as LGB in 2023, only 11% in 2025.
01:09:42.440 five. Look, the traditional number has always been around three to five percent. Let's be crazy. Say
01:09:48.020 it's eight percent. It's not 11. It's not 17. It's not 30 percent. It's just not. It's just not.
01:09:55.300 So the good news is it is starting to this. This is starting to correct itself. Now, we've done a
01:10:03.280 lot of damage along the way. Sixty six percent of Democratic young women believe the challenges 1.00
01:10:09.700 women face in America's society are due in great part to the behavior or actions of men.
01:10:15.920 Gee, where do you think they got that idea? 0.55
01:10:19.000 I mean, this is our entire society.
01:10:21.420 Blame it on somebody else.
01:10:23.480 Only 18% of Republican young women agree.
01:10:26.920 So 66% of Democrats blame men. 0.78
01:10:30.640 18% of Republican women agree with them. 0.79
01:10:35.680 18.
01:10:36.040 when men were asked whether women were blamed for the troubles men faced only 16 percent agreed
01:10:42.480 republican young men are more likely than democrat young men to blame women for the
01:10:47.380 challenges that men face but only 26 percent do so we have the opposite problem we have the problem
01:10:54.280 coming we have the opposite problem on the other side now we are training the men to blame women
01:11:00.460 And I think this is not us doing, I think it's just all of society, but we have to be very careful with our young men.
01:11:08.020 No, no, it is this, this campaign of blame for everybody that has shaped everybody.
01:11:17.540 We are not against people.
01:11:19.860 We are against what is being done to people.
01:11:23.200 66% of young Democratic women blame men for their problems
01:11:26.380 result of a long-running propaganda campaign
01:11:29.180 that has targeted them specifically
01:11:30.780 and convinced them to see themselves as constantly oppressed.
01:11:34.720 Do you think?
01:11:38.480 I mean, look at how everything is right now.
01:11:41.860 Everything, everything.
01:11:43.720 Did a man direct that film? 0.68
01:11:46.160 Patriarchy.
01:11:47.720 You didn't get that promotion? 1.00
01:11:49.900 Patriarchy.
01:11:51.400 He didn't call you after the first date.
01:11:54.460 Patriarchy. 0.99
01:11:56.460 It's a poison pill, and it has been sold to mainly Democratic women. 0.99
01:12:01.400 They're the most vulnerable to it. 0.99
01:12:03.760 When they swallow it, they become miserable.
01:12:07.700 I mean, how many studies do we have to have?
01:12:09.700 I just told you one the other day. 0.75
01:12:12.280 You would think the left would be the one that would be having just great sex all the time.
01:12:17.320 And I told you, the opposite is true.
01:12:18.860 New study comes out. It is married, committed, religious people that are having more sex than 0.72
01:12:26.220 anybody else and more satisfying sex than anybody else. Everything you've been sold is a lie. 0.99
01:12:32.620 It's a lie. The same here. It's not everybody else's fault. Once you understand that,
01:12:41.080 you can regain control of your own life. If everything is everybody else's fault,
01:12:46.560 that means you have no power to shape your own destiny. 0.99
01:12:50.500 Of course you're miserable. 0.99
01:12:52.900 You accept your fate as a pawn 0.99
01:12:55.020 and then just complain and wait for the system to change.
01:12:59.780 And all that does is make you unhappy, anxious, depressed,
01:13:04.240 but it also makes you lonely and bitter and probably single.
01:13:13.240 I don't know, because the answer,
01:13:16.560 The answer to all of these things is a return to common sense,
01:13:20.320 which requires you to be able to have critical thinking.
01:13:26.440 The answer is a return to common decency
01:13:29.120 and common, universal, everlasting principles.
01:13:36.620 There should be street-level evangelists 1.00
01:13:40.120 to help these young women out of this psychological funk. 0.99
01:13:44.280 conservative women could be on the street simply saying they're just not miserable. 1.00
01:13:49.760 They have agency and they usually enjoy their time with men. 1.00
01:13:54.120 And that would be a game changer. 1.00
01:13:55.320 That's what you should do. 1.00
01:13:56.940 Young women, that's what you should be doing all the time, all the time.
01:14:02.680 No, I don't, I don't really have a problem with this.
01:14:04.900 I mean, I'm, I'm happy.
01:14:06.340 Yeah, I've got problems.
01:14:08.220 Yeah. 1.00
01:14:09.820 You know, things have been unfair for women in the past, 1.00
01:14:12.460 but things, generally speaking, are getting better every day.
01:14:15.340 And I have a good time with guys.
01:14:17.520 But here's the other poison pill on the market.
01:14:19.780 This one is being sold to you, the Republican men.
01:14:23.100 And it's the same poison just sold to a new group.
01:14:27.220 And there's 26% of you that are buying it.
01:14:29.860 And that number is going to grow.
01:14:32.640 How many young Republican men have started to play around
01:14:35.420 with repealing women's right to vote?
01:14:37.840 Have you heard that?
01:14:39.020 You know, that's the biggest mistake we ever made.
01:14:40.760 What are you talking about?
01:14:43.680 What are you talking about?
01:14:45.660 First of all, the founders, at the founding era, here's something nobody will tell you,
01:14:50.120 at the founding era, women could vote.
01:14:53.960 You know what the difference was? 1.00
01:14:56.120 You had to own property. 1.00
01:14:59.020 Women could own property, but the household would get one vote. 1.00
01:15:05.980 It's not the same system. 1.00
01:15:08.220 One vote.
01:15:10.120 You want to go back to that one?
01:15:12.120 I'll go back to that one in a heartbeat.
01:15:14.180 Yes, please.
01:15:15.500 You had to have skin in the game. 1.00
01:15:17.580 So the wife or the husband could go cast the vote. 0.99
01:15:21.220 Didn't matter.
01:15:21.840 Do you own property?
01:15:22.780 Yes.
01:15:23.780 Okay, which one of you is going to vote?
01:15:25.480 I am.
01:15:26.040 Could be the woman, could be the man. 1.00
01:15:27.200 If the woman inherited the land, she would vote. 0.91
01:15:33.580 If it was a man, he would vote. 1.00
01:15:35.300 This thing that, you know, our real problems were caused when women, have you ever read James Madison, I mean, John Adams' wife, what was her name? Abigail. Have you ever read any of her letters? She was brilliant. That's not our problem. 1.00
01:15:56.060 are socialists taking over? 1.00
01:16:02.300 Blame the women. 0.99
01:16:04.220 You struggle to find a girlfriend? 1.00
01:16:06.280 Blame the women. 1.00
01:16:09.820 Now, maybe sometimes that's true, 0.82
01:16:11.660 just like it's sometimes true that men cause women problems. 0.98
01:16:16.440 But seeing the opposite sex as the root of everything wrong with your life
01:16:19.420 gives you an excuse to be weak. 0.88
01:16:24.480 Weak men, remember?
01:16:26.060 the saying? Make hard times. They are training our youth to be weak. Why? To make hard times.
01:16:39.040 Those hard times will create strong men. Strong men will create good times. Good times create
01:16:47.240 weak men. Weak men create hard times. They are accelerating this. They want you to be weak.
01:16:55.740 They need you to be weak because that way we'll have all kinds of problems.
01:17:01.120 Nobody will ever be able to do anything for themselves,
01:17:03.620 and they'll be able to say, you've got to come to me, the strong man,
01:17:07.060 to be able to solve all the problems. 0.87
01:17:11.080 Young Republican men, I know you say you hate white liberal women, 1.00
01:17:15.720 but if you aren't careful, you're going to become them. 0.58
01:17:19.540 you're going to find oppression and grievance everywhere you look and it will make you just
01:17:27.740 like a liberal woman miserable and hopeless don't don't go down that road it's a lie that was sold 0.62
01:17:37.120 to them they're actually great people they've been sold a lie they bought into it and now they're 0.70
01:17:42.540 just miserable and hopeless and they're dragging everybody else into their misery look what happened
01:17:49.360 of these young women and see what's being planned for you. No, no, don't do it. More in a minute.
01:18:03.440 Our sponsor of this half hour is my Patriot Supply. You know, you've failed emergency

01:19:24.260 Well, now that you've got that metal picture in your head, Glenn Beck will be right back.
01:19:43.420 can somebody explain to me this this whole thing jason have you heard this uh you know
01:20:01.340 the problem is we gave women the right to vote we have to repeal that amendment um have you heard
01:20:07.580 that from young men yeah on our side all the time for kids my son's age which early 20s early to
01:20:16.360 mid 20s yeah that's where my son is too my my son has told me his friends are talking about that and
01:20:21.920 i'm like what i can you explain it i don't even know how to understand it i it's i think it's the
01:20:28.520 danger so that study you were you were talking about said that 26 of this age group of men
01:20:34.140 believe that and i actually think that's being generous i think it might be higher or it's
01:20:39.100 rapidly going up and i i see oh god i hope not i see a lot of fringe groups that are trying to
01:20:44.440 parallel along you know on the conservative side and they're being welcomed in and they're the more
01:20:50.240 they're the more radical parts of uh you know of the ideology and for some reason they're being
01:20:56.480 embraced in conservative circles which if you see game planning this out how far that could go
01:21:02.020 is dangerous so look at what you know earlier if you missed the first hour of the program
01:21:09.200 go back and listen to it because i took the letter that was sent from the iranian irgc uh to the and
01:21:17.260 it's actually not to the american people it's to the press the college professors and the students
01:21:22.460 of america and it all it was doing was dividing into groups and it was speaking the language i
01:21:31.700 I'm sure this isn't true.
01:21:35.160 This is just me.
01:21:36.460 But it's almost as if Alexander Dugan helped them write that letter because it was showed an understanding of the five different groups that we're splitting into, and it just played into those.
01:21:51.120 It didn't say this, but it could have very easily because it talked to conservatives, and it talked about the problems with liberals and blah, blah, blah, and it talked to liberals about the problems with conservatives.
01:22:01.220 I mean, it's amazing how well they did that, but I explained it earlier today as almost a how-to-continue-to-divide-us kind of instruction manual for the people who are the street warriors here in America because they were appealing to each of these disenfranchised groups.
01:22:25.840 Everybody feels oppressed, and they were playing into that.
01:22:29.380 I mean, it's, it's, it's so clear. And once you see this, then you can back away from it. Hopefully you back away from it, but Republicans and men, you've got to back away from this, this, you know, it's the problem is women and liberal women and blah, blah, blah.
01:22:45.940 No, no, no, no. 1.00
01:22:47.100 That's what they were sold.
01:22:48.460 The problem was you.
01:22:50.040 And look what they turned into.
01:22:52.020 Don't go down the same path.
01:22:55.000 It's the same exact poison.
01:22:58.760 And it's amazing to watch it.
01:23:01.320 Because if you know, it's so obvious.
01:23:05.840 You see it and you're like, wow, how are people buying into this?
01:23:10.040 yeah if you look at um you know even going back to the 1979 revolution you know what what i think
01:23:18.600 what iran is doing right now is very effective but it's not very original it's essentially what
01:23:24.720 they did in during the 1970 79 revolution they're reaching out to these very divisive forces they're
01:23:31.380 putting them in let's just call it a red green alliance i know that's crazy to say something
01:23:35.140 like that but they created that's what they created but they did it on a single country
01:23:40.480 experiment now they're trying to export that well not now they've been trying to export that
01:23:45.860 into a global revolution almost sounds like a global communist revolution really it's insane
01:23:50.980 the parallels absolutely nuts but they're still trying it the problem is it's very effective
01:23:56.140 you see it in college campuses all over the country but you see something else um do we
01:24:02.240 have the cut from uh billy corgan um of the uh smashing pumpkins he was he does a podcast uh the
01:24:10.840 magnificent others and he was talking to um michael sweet who is the front man for striper
01:24:18.440 and they were talking about their christianity and and you know it's a third rail of rock and
01:24:25.620 roll listen to this i'm a christian as well and and i have talked at different times uh and on
01:24:32.120 some level your being out and mark farner being out i at some point i made the own my own personal
01:24:38.940 decision that i was going to be willing to talk about god in a way that i know most people in my
01:24:43.680 generation do not talk about god in music yeah wow i even once said to rolling stone that god
01:24:48.780 is the third rail of rock and roll i read that if you talk about god you know you might as well
01:24:54.700 throw your career down the hole. And I made the decision that I was going to talk about God
01:24:59.760 honestly, at least God in my life or believing in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. And if it was
01:25:06.540 going to hurt me, I didn't care because if you don't really understand me, how can I put it
01:25:13.520 better? If I can't be willing to be honest with who I am, well, what am I asking a fan to believe
01:25:20.600 good. There's something remarkable happening in the world, and we're just at the beginning of it.
01:25:33.900 There's a reason people get really cynical when a big corporation announces its mission,
01:25:38.600 because normally the mission has absolutely nothing to do with the things they sell you.
01:25:43.980 You know, they make toasters. Great. Why are you explaining this philosophy of Western
01:25:47.980 civilization to me.
01:25:49.760 Patriot Mobile is different because their mission is actually built into their business.
01:25:54.380 They're America's only Christian conservative wireless provider.
01:25:57.540 And for more than 12 years, they have contributed millions of dollars to organizations that
01:26:02.280 defend religious liberty, free speech, the sanctity of life, the Second Amendment, and
01:26:06.380 all the things you agree with.
01:26:08.000 And they've also built an amazingly good wireless company.
01:26:11.140 You get higher priority nationwide service with access to any of the three major U.S.
01:26:16.400 networks and so much more.
01:26:17.980 So don't ask me to choose between a company that shares my values
01:26:21.080 and a company that provides good service.
01:26:22.960 I got both of them in one.

01:26:47.980 We'll be right back.
01:27:17.980 The fusion of entertainment, enlightenment, and empowerment.
01:27:37.340 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
01:27:43.180 Hello, America.
01:27:44.220 I want to start this hour with some good news.
01:27:46.000 Yesterday, we told you about Don Johnson and his daughter, Amy.
01:27:49.680 Don is a guy who is at 81 years old schlepping luggage for an airline.
01:27:56.580 You know, when they lose your luggage, he goes, picks it up.
01:27:59.580 He brings it to you.
01:28:00.940 People are like, why is he doing that?
01:28:02.400 What airline would hire? 0.90
01:28:03.940 Airlines, of course, would hire an 80-year-old man because they know it's going to get done.
01:28:07.900 They know he's going to be responsible.
01:28:10.000 You can't get anybody to be responsible and do this stuff.
01:28:12.740 So he's out there and he's doing it because he's trying to pay for his wife's cancer treatments.
01:28:18.580 Long story, yesterday when we told you this story, they had about $70,000 that they had raised.
01:28:24.680 And my goal is to raise, you know, three quarters of a million to help them pay for everything that they need.
01:28:32.620 But they are, as of yesterday on this program, they've gone from $70,000, $75,000 to $304,422.
01:28:49.460 So it is amazing.
01:28:51.300 You can give at givesendgo.com slash helpdonretire.
01:28:56.580 Every dollar makes a difference.
01:28:58.260 And Jason, I think, is going over to his house today to meet with the family.
01:29:02.620 Are you going to bring a camera or a microphone to share all of it?
01:29:05.980 Or is this just a visit you just can share with us tomorrow on air?
01:29:10.180 We're going to try to.
01:29:10.800 We're going to see if he's going to let us.
01:29:11.700 We're going to try to fix his car.
01:29:13.160 And we'll get some shots of that, too.
01:29:14.820 I'm sad while you're going over it.
01:29:17.120 That's how we're going.
01:29:17.900 Good for you, Jason.
01:29:18.820 Good for you.
01:29:19.800 He's a big fan of the show.
01:29:21.520 The family's a big fan of the show.
01:29:23.160 And I just love him.
01:29:24.540 GiveSendGo.com slash HelpDonRetire.
01:29:27.460 Okay.
01:29:28.760 Earlier this week, I talked about broken families.
01:29:31.280 And boy, did we open up a can of worms on that.
01:29:34.900 I talked to you about, you know, something that happened in Chicago over the summer.
01:29:38.940 200 parents whose grown children have stopped speaking to them all got together in one room.
01:29:45.260 We're going to pursue this.
01:29:47.200 And I have somebody who's an expert in this because this is so universal coming on this hour.
01:29:53.680 Stand by.
01:29:54.200 I want to I want to tell you what we found and some of the things that I think are going on.
01:29:59.700 And then we're going to see if we can fix it.
01:30:02.140 So stand by.
01:30:03.160 If you know anybody who has been divorced from their family or family members, this is an hour you want to stick around with.
01:30:11.900 Also, the news of the day.
01:30:13.280 First, let me tell you about Mercury One.
01:30:15.240 Mercury One is my charity.
01:30:16.640 I started it 15 years ago this year.
01:30:18.960 And to help, we started it to help, to heal, to rescue, and empower through education.
01:30:25.740 When a disaster hits America, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, fires, we try to empower people
01:30:32.120 by being the first ones on the scene and help them help themselves in their community.
01:30:36.760 And we're the last to leave.
01:30:38.520 We'll bring the food, the water, the hands to rebuild, the construction, the tools,
01:30:43.000 everything that they need.
01:30:44.420 We've also rescued tens of thousands of persecuted Christians, tens of thousands,
01:30:50.700 all across the world through our Nazarene Fund, giving them a chance to worship God
01:30:54.580 and live free from the fear of, I don't know, being burned in a cage or beheaded.
01:30:59.720 They are alive today and free because somebody like you cared enough
01:31:04.860 to help us go get them and get them out of there.
01:31:08.760 Now we're also building a state-of-the-art museum and research center in Irving, Texas
01:31:13.040 that will bring the American journey, our American history, to life like never before.
01:31:17.920 I'm asking you now to join us on this mission.
01:31:20.200 These three things, they're so important.
01:31:22.540 this mission to change the world for the better.
01:31:25.700 Let people know that are just like you,
01:31:27.980 that they are not alone,
01:31:29.640 not in strife, not in fear,
01:31:32.400 not in their hopes and dreams
01:31:33.880 for a better, brighter American future.
01:31:36.320 Right now, every gift to Mercury One
01:31:38.140 is being matched dollar for dollar.
01:31:40.080 Your gift goes twice as far
01:31:41.680 and it supports all three missions at once,
01:31:44.080 relief, rescue, and history.
01:31:46.140 So please give today, mercuryone.org.
01:31:48.520 That's mercuryone.org.
01:31:50.220 Join us on this mission.
01:31:53.020 So a couple of days ago, we told you about what was happening in Chicago.
01:31:55.980 These 200 parents get into a room.
01:31:57.660 They have grown children that aren't speaking to them anymore.
01:31:59.960 And by the time we were off the air, I got to tell you, our inbox looked like that room.
01:32:03.960 It was packed.
01:32:05.940 A grandmother who hadn't seen her 14-year-old granddaughter since April.
01:32:10.080 Her and her son were close, but now she's just a label that she says he picked up someplace else. 1.00
01:32:15.100 A listener whose brother actually stood in his front lawn and screamed that he was voting for a pedophile and a rapist. 0.98
01:32:26.880 He hasn't spoken to his brother ever since. 0.98
01:32:31.400 A listener who is a single mom who raised two kids in church, whose son was told by his new church, cut her off.
01:32:39.880 a mom who cut off her oldest son
01:32:44.160 because they had a disagreement
01:32:45.300 two years later he was dead of fentanyl
01:32:47.280 now his sister has cut her off
01:32:50.020 one woman wrote in
01:32:53.440 last week my daughter texted
01:32:55.080 she wants to reconnect
01:32:56.320 I never gave up hope
01:32:58.880 boy
01:33:00.920 that one story
01:33:02.840 helps
01:33:03.860 I mean
01:33:04.940 so many of us are dealing with these things
01:33:08.420 It's a pain that just doesn't go on.
01:33:10.640 It just doesn't stop.
01:33:11.500 It just goes on and on and on and on.
01:33:14.340 It's honestly like a death with no funeral.
01:33:18.260 Nobody's bringing a casserole.
01:33:20.300 Somebody at church asks, how are the kids?
01:33:22.320 And you smile and you say, oh, they're fine.
01:33:24.100 They're fine.
01:33:25.060 And it's killing you inside.
01:33:28.020 There's a family therapist named Pauline Boss.
01:33:32.620 And she calls this grief for someone who's still alive,
01:33:36.700 still out there, still posting pictures of grandkids that you're not allowed to hold.
01:33:42.120 She says it's the most stressful kind of loss because there's nothing to close.
01:33:49.340 And if you've wondered why you can't get over it, it's not because you're weak.
01:33:53.840 You're just, you're grieving something that hasn't ended.
01:33:59.740 And keep calling, just keep calling.
01:34:01.720 Isn't enough.
01:34:02.380 and we start with this forgiveness and reconciliation well they're not the same
01:34:08.440 thing and most of us have welded them together and it's crushing us you know jesus said you know
01:34:15.540 when you're praying forgive forgive forgive he didn't say wait for them to call forgiveness
01:34:21.860 happens in you so you have to forgive first it needs no permission and no phone number and you
01:34:29.500 can do it right now on your knees. And it might take you months. I've done it. It'll take you
01:34:34.080 months to get there. But one day that miracle will show up and you'll be like, oh my gosh,
01:34:38.360 I don't have that anymore. But reconciliation is different. That takes two people.
01:34:44.340 It takes trust. And trust comes back really slowly.
01:34:51.040 There is something happening in our society. Because there's a word that just keeps showing
01:34:58.500 up on both sides of the door, and that word is narcissist. Kids now say it about the parents.
01:35:04.500 The parents say it about the kids. Then the ex-wives, the bosses, the pastors, the guy who
01:35:09.040 cuts you off in traffic. Type it into TikTok. Well, better yet, don't. You'll find billions
01:35:14.620 of views. Gaslighting was Webster's word of the year in 2022. Now add toxic, trauma, triggered,
01:35:22.820 and boundaries, we have built an entire vocabulary for describing what everyone else is doing
01:35:30.700 to us.
01:35:32.840 We are breeding personality disorders.
01:35:37.560 Or are we just handing out labels?
01:35:39.700 Because that's what they have.
01:35:40.520 We're doing both.
01:35:42.020 And it matters which is which.
01:35:45.780 You know, there are personality disorders.
01:35:48.980 And that's not a bad day.
01:35:51.140 It's not a selfish teenager or a dad who yelled too much.
01:35:54.760 It's a rigid clinical pattern, and it shows up in every relationship, in every season of life, and it wrecks them one after another.
01:36:02.580 The clinical kind of narcissism, the kind of doctor would diagnose.
01:36:07.080 It shows up in somewhere in between 1% and 6% of people, depending on who's counting.
01:36:13.340 borderline personality
01:36:15.940 marked by explosive swings
01:36:19.260 between I love you and I hate you
01:36:21.360 that runs about 2%
01:36:22.800 and it's real
01:36:24.760 and if you live with somebody like that
01:36:26.300 you know it's real
01:36:27.240 but 1-6% doesn't add up to billions of views 1.00
01:36:31.380 if every mother is a narcissist 1.00
01:36:33.820 then the word doesn't mean anything anymore
01:36:36.440 and the people who actually survived one
01:36:39.180 lose the word they need
01:36:41.540 Traits are different than disorder
01:36:46.580 There is a psychologist
01:36:50.120 And she tracked college students
01:36:52.620 On the standard narcissism test
01:36:54.960 For decades now
01:36:56.200 I want to tell you what she
01:36:57.920 Actually came up with
01:36:59.460 By the mid-2000s
01:37:01.200 Two out of three were scoring above
01:37:03.320 What had been the average
01:37:05.020 A generation earlier
01:37:06.240 She called it an epidemic
01:37:07.880 Then there was a large federal survey
01:37:10.320 found out people in their 20s
01:37:11.780 had nearly three times the lifetime rate
01:37:14.300 of narcissistic personality disorder
01:37:16.540 as people over 65.
01:37:18.920 Then another researcher pushed back in 2017.
01:37:22.280 Study found that classic chest-thumping narcissism
01:37:25.160 actually dipped among college students
01:37:27.200 after the 1990s.
01:37:28.760 So who's right here?
01:37:32.580 In looking at this over the last couple of days,
01:37:34.780 I think both are.
01:37:35.680 because the narcissist changed shape.
01:37:41.700 Because there's two kinds.
01:37:43.600 The grandiose one, it's loud, it's a big ego,
01:37:46.900 big mouth, sucks all of the air out of the room
01:37:49.040 and you see this guy coming a mile away. 1.00
01:37:51.580 The second one is vulnerable narcissists.
01:37:55.600 They're quieter, they're anxious, they're easily wounded.
01:37:59.180 They're convinced the world owes them
01:38:01.500 and keeps failing to pay them.
01:38:05.680 that one doesn't brag. That one keeps score. Every slight is an injury. Every disagreement
01:38:12.640 is an attack. And he is always, always the victim. And I got to tell you, there's a lot of people I
01:38:19.200 know like that. A lot. The second kind, the one I'm talking about now, that's the one our culture
01:38:26.180 is building and growing right now. And look at the reward. We were told everything's going to
01:38:34.780 be fine. Listen to the experts. And so we tell this generation that they were special when they
01:38:39.620 hadn't done anything. We handed out praise like candy and then took away the scoreboard. Everybody's
01:38:45.160 a winner. Self-esteem without accomplishment is not confidence. It's a balloon. And a balloon
01:38:52.800 spends its life afraid of pins. Then we gave them a phone that puts them on stage 24 hours a day.
01:39:01.580 Every picture gets a grade, gets likes.
01:39:04.120 Every opinion gets a crowd.
01:39:06.980 You learn to curate yourself, perform yourself, and measure yourself in likes.
01:39:13.700 That's a narcissist training program with a charging cable.
01:39:22.180 Then we taught them the language of injury.
01:39:25.500 Your truth, not the truth.
01:39:27.880 What's your truth?
01:39:29.280 Your trauma.
01:39:30.600 Protect your peace.
01:39:32.160 Do you need a safe space?
01:39:34.300 Are you offended?
01:39:35.800 Have you been injured by words?
01:39:39.120 Now, some of that language helps people with real wounds.
01:39:42.260 But you hand it to a fragile ego and it becomes armor.
01:39:47.080 Now, any criticism can be called abuse.
01:39:49.760 And any parent who says no is toxic.
01:39:54.460 This is called, according to researchers, concept creep.
01:39:59.020 The definition of harm keeps growing until ordinary disappointment qualifies.
01:40:03.420 We're there, gang.
01:40:05.240 I've been harmed.
01:40:06.720 I didn't get picked.
01:40:08.100 I didn't do this.
01:40:08.980 I didn't do that.
01:40:10.000 They didn't give me this.
01:40:11.960 We lost the game.
01:40:14.980 We've turned diagnosis into a game.
01:40:20.040 One study of the most popular ADHD videos on TikTok
01:40:23.840 found that more than half were misleading.
01:40:27.460 You can watch a 90-second clip, diagnose yourself with one thing and your mother with another, and never ever meet a doctor.
01:40:35.160 Congratulations. 0.79
01:40:37.540 And we did it too.
01:40:38.760 We're not innocent.
01:40:39.920 We're not just bystanders.
01:40:42.300 We built our own feeds.
01:40:44.180 We watch cable news that tells us half the country is evil.
01:40:47.240 And if you watch the other cable channel, that half of the country is evil.
01:40:50.920 We snap at waitresses and then post about grace.
01:40:54.040 narcissism is not a generation it's a temptation and we're all being offered it and we're being
01:41:02.640 fed it constantly we have to start figuring out what's real and what's not what's what's
01:41:11.940 the real thing and what's just somebody you're just angry at first it's the pattern not every
01:41:20.500 not every fight, not every job, not every friendship, every marriage, if it ends the
01:41:25.340 same way, it can't always be somebody else's fault. You know, you need to start going,
01:41:31.280 but wait a minute, what did I do? Is there a pattern here? Second thing, empathy completely
01:41:36.980 disappears when it costs somebody something. They can be charming and generous when there's an
01:41:43.660 audience, but watch what happens when your need gets in the way of theirs. Third thing to watch for
01:41:51.960 is criticism. If it produces rage or collapse, not reflection, a small correction feels like
01:42:05.960 an assassination attempt, that's what you're dealing with. Fourth, history will get rewritten.
01:42:13.660 Something you both saw happen, they remember differently.
01:42:17.100 They are certain.
01:42:19.560 And any trying to change that, boy, you are abusive.
01:42:23.660 And last, a narcissist can't actually ever genuinely apologize.
01:42:30.260 They can say, I'm sorry you feel that way.
01:42:33.180 They can't say, I was wrong.
01:42:35.820 You're right, I was wrong, and here's what I'll do differently.
01:42:38.880 And then go do it.
01:42:41.640 Now, hold that up.
01:42:42.980 Before you hold that up to all the people in your life that you might have lost, hold that list up to your own face because that's the test that nobody takes on TikTok.
01:42:52.520 If every relationship you've had ended with you as the innocent party, the common denominator is in your mirror.
01:43:02.680 If you've diagnosed your mother, your ex, your boss, your brother, ask who's doing all the diagnosing here.
01:43:09.680 The irony is that narcissist has become one of the most self-centered words in the language.
01:43:18.000 It puts the whole story on the other person and lets the one who says it walk away cleanly.
01:43:25.200 Boy, this is so our culture today, isn't it?
01:43:31.700 So if you're still raising kids, praise the effort and character.
01:43:39.680 But don't tell them they're special.
01:43:41.120 They're not that special.
01:43:42.640 They're not.
01:43:43.660 They might have special things that they do,
01:43:45.740 but they're not universally special.
01:43:47.860 Let them lose.
01:43:49.560 Let them be corrected without calling it harm,
01:43:52.320 without being a helicopter all the time.
01:43:54.440 Teach them that feelings are real,
01:43:56.140 but they're not facts.
01:43:58.240 And they're certainly not a verdict on anybody else.
01:44:01.760 Oh my gosh, I've heard that person is.
01:44:03.980 No.
01:44:05.480 You verify your feelings.
01:44:08.220 That's how you feel.
01:44:09.560 but that's not a verdict on somebody else.
01:44:12.720 And with ourselves, practice the one skill no narcissist has.
01:44:19.860 Just say this, I was wrong.
01:44:22.820 I want you to say that out loud to somebody this week,
01:44:25.900 to somebody who deserves to hear it.
01:44:28.420 If you truly, truly are dealing with a disordered person,
01:44:32.340 get real help from somebody who has met you both,
01:44:35.100 not a stranger with a ring light.
01:44:36.700 but go to somebody this week that needs to hear it
01:44:40.100 and don't say anything else.
01:44:42.100 There's no but after, there's nothing else.
01:44:43.900 You know what?
01:44:44.480 I've been thinking about this.
01:44:46.260 You're right.
01:44:48.020 I was wrong and I'm really sorry for that.
01:44:50.080 And don't expect anything.
01:44:53.600 Okay.
01:44:54.860 Well, thank you for saying that.
01:44:56.780 Well, thanks for listening.
01:44:58.300 I just wanted to let you know that.
01:45:00.220 Click.
01:45:02.280 Don't expect anything in return
01:45:04.580 that will confuse them.
01:45:06.700 that will make them think.
01:45:11.480 And don't let one person's disorder become your personality.
01:45:14.720 This one's so hard.
01:45:15.740 I deal with this.
01:45:16.740 I have to tell you,
01:45:17.660 I just, I deal with exactly what you're dealing with right now.
01:45:25.380 And it is really hard.
01:45:27.000 And it is hard not to continue to go.
01:45:31.940 But Paul warned there will be in the last days
01:45:36.380 People who are lovers of themselves, they're proud, they're unthankful, and they're without
01:45:41.020 natural affection. That's not a diagnosis, but it describes what happens to any people who put
01:45:46.740 themselves at the center. And the cure has never been a better label. It's humility.
01:45:53.500 Humility makes every broken relationship repairable. Pride is what makes every single
01:45:58.960 one of those things permanent. Humility. It may not happen, it may not ever happen,
01:46:04.720 But it won't change you.
01:46:07.820 Don't let it change you.
01:46:10.720 Unless it's changing you into a softer, more kind, and more humble person.
01:46:16.780 Back in just a second.
01:46:18.460 We have a great expert on all of this coming up in a second because I'm a Yahoo.
01:46:24.640 Let me tell you about pre-born.
01:46:27.060 We love babies first.
01:46:28.760 First smile, first laugh, first word, first step.
01:46:31.400 Parents write them down, take pictures, call the grandparents.
01:46:34.720 But here's what we sometimes forget, that the time the baby is born, an incredible number of firsts have already happened.
01:46:40.200 The first heartbeat, the first movement, the first hiccup, the first time those little hands open and close, the first time the baby hears mom's voice, those firsts matter too.
01:46:48.520 Pre-born supports pregnancy clinics across America that provide free ultrasounds to women considering abortion, along with compassionate counseling and practical support that can go up to two years after the baby is born.
01:46:58.440 That ultrasound gives the mom the opportunity to see a life that's already there and a child whose story hasn't even begun yet.
01:47:04.600 It doesn't begin in the delivery room, but it continues on.
01:47:09.840 If you're a business owner, would you consider a larger donation to claim a write-off?
01:47:14.360 A donation of $1,000, $2,000, $10,000, $15,000 will sponsor a whole machine, an ultrasound machine for a needy clinic, helping it to save countless babies' lives for years to come.
01:47:24.560 All gifts are tax-deductible and will reach through the eternities, I believe.
01:47:29.060 So get involved today.

01:48:27.780 story is the one where everybody is still alive when it's over and that's not always possible
01:48:33.500 there are evil people in the world and there are moments when you know your life or your family 0.96
01:48:37.740 least life is in danger and you have to have a gun and you shoot them. You do what you have to 0.79
01:48:41.260 to protect them. But when you have a choice, when you can stop a threat without taking a life,
01:48:46.060 that's an outcome worth seeking. That's why I believe in Burna. I believe in guns. I also
01:48:51.080 believe in Burna. They make powerful, non-lethal launchers designed to stop a threat from a
01:48:55.680 distance. And they can fire kinetic or chemical irritant projectiles up to 400 feet per second.
01:49:00.660 And that's an effective range up to 60 feet. I have to tell you, my son was up creeping around
01:49:05.300 the house. He was doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing. My wife heard something
01:49:08.500 in the middle of the night. She said, get the gun. Somebody's broken into the house. I go in
01:49:11.220 with my gun and I'm coming around the corner and I've already announced myself. And I know
01:49:16.480 somebody's in the next room. And I say, this is your last opportunity. I have a gun and I will
01:49:21.460 shoot. It was my son. And he said, dad, it's me. I could have shot my son. I want to burn a launcher. 1.00

01:49:58.120 i can really use this next guest and i think many in the audience can too uh noelle merring she is
01:50:17.400 a fellow at the washington dc based ethics and public policy center the author of awake not woke
01:50:22.740 A Christian Response to the Cult of Progressive Ideology, co-author of Popular Theology of Home
01:50:29.480 book series. She's published for the National Review, Newsweek, Daily Wire, Federalist American
01:50:34.000 Mind, Catholic World Report, and she is the author of No Contact, How a Seductive Theology Broke
01:50:41.140 Families and Friendships and How We Can Repair Them. That's the biggest thing. Nicole, thank you
01:50:46.120 for coming on the, or Noelle, thank you for being on the program. You write, there's a new form of
01:50:52.200 relationship estrangement afoot whereas in the past relationships tended to rupture over issues
01:50:57.820 like abuse today people are increasingly estranged because of politics more than 68 million americans
01:51:03.920 are currently alienated from close family members uh uh though uh going uh no contact is frequently
01:51:12.040 framed as an act of empowerment and self-care what is happening to us yeah great question
01:51:20.120 Well, you covered very well in your lead in what I think is the initial cause, social causes, which are, you know, social media, which inclines us towards traits of narcissism, but also habituates us into habits of relationship that include muting, blocking, unfollowing, curating our social circles, and then populate our content with TikTok psychologists, I call them, inviting people to examine their past for toxicity.
01:51:43.980 But there are other causes. One is ideological and one is spiritual. So the ideological cause, there's a long fomenting academic pet cause called the abolition of the family.
01:51:55.940 And what it has told us is that the family is a social construct. And so we can deconstruct it because it is nested in power structures.
01:52:04.340 and so no longer is this a school of love or the means in which we have developed the capacity to
01:52:11.080 love people when there's natural friction of intimate life now it's a structure of power and
01:52:16.720 so those frictions that are normal to embodied living become start to look like oppression to
01:52:22.180 us and so the family naturally starts to attenuate it starts to weaken even if somebody's never read
01:52:27.740 any of this academic literature it's throughout their cultural pop culture and media and so what
01:52:33.360 happens once that happens well the political tribe starts to cannibalize the familial tribe
01:52:38.160 our loyalties our sense of belonging all the things that are properly and first or firstly
01:52:43.060 fulfilled in the family and then in our faith start to become relocated into our politics
01:52:48.200 and so when politic political division enters our family home that loyalty has a greater claim on us
01:52:54.860 than our familial one and the division i think emanates from there so um
01:53:01.220 you make a distinction between necessary estrangement and what you call the overuse of
01:53:07.900 no contact. What's, what's the difference? How can you tell the difference?
01:53:13.460 Yeah, here's a good analogy. I think that we all need a healthy immune system. We need to be able
01:53:18.940 to identify and expel things that are threatening to us. But what I think is happening now in the
01:53:24.240 ideologically driven no contact movement is more like an autoimmune disorder where we are no longer
01:53:30.740 able to distinguish between what is dangerous from what is merely difficult. And so we wind
01:53:36.000 up attacking things that are actually really vital to our survival. So that's the difference,
01:53:41.060 I would say. Now, one signifier, whether or not you are going no contact out of necessity or not,
01:53:46.400 are you willing to listen to objective voices that might push back on your narrative?
01:53:50.500 That's a big signal that you are open to course correcting. Oftentimes, the kids,
01:53:55.700 young adults who are going no contact, they don't want to hear any voice that might push back on
01:54:00.300 their narrative. And in fact, the TikTok psychologist will encourage them to think of
01:54:04.800 those voices as being also considered abusive too, because they're enabling whatever toxicity is in
01:54:11.140 your family. So am I willing to course correct? Am I willing to hear objective voices that might
01:54:16.300 give me feedback that is making me scrutinize myself a bit? That's a good sign that you might
01:54:22.180 be not being driven by ideology. But how do you know what those trusted voices are? Because
01:54:28.020 there are, quote, trusted voices by some that are part of this labeling of everything.
01:54:37.460 These progressive psychologists or psychiatrists that are labeling absolutely everything.
01:54:44.640 And it's like, I'm not going to sit down in a meeting where somebody's giving me this
01:54:52.360 today bullcrap that is progressive and is not is part of the problem so how do you how do you do
01:55:00.260 that how do you find because the other side will not go to a traditional person right no i think
01:55:07.500 that's exactly right so one thing we have to reframe is that experts are not necessarily
01:55:11.440 really should be considered authoritative in our life it's some and for certainly not people who
01:55:16.740 are on the other side of a screen giving us kind of a narrative of toxicity that does not know our
01:55:22.780 particular circumstances. I mean, that should be a red flag immediately if we're diagnosing our
01:55:27.680 particular circumstances through someone on the screen. So how do we know? Well, I think, you know,
01:55:33.560 if we are open to understanding who is actually wise and who in my experience does push back on
01:55:39.840 me, you know, that person is not just a flatterer. That person is willing to help me arrive at the
01:55:44.200 truth and has my good at heart. I'm willing to hear hard things. Yeah. I'm willing to hear hard
01:55:50.960 things. I'm willing to examine and self-examine and we should all be there, but I'm not willing
01:55:56.280 to be called a predator because I held the line on something that, you know, the family is sacred.
01:56:04.940 You know what I mean? I'm just not willing to be called toxic because I believe in, in something
01:56:12.120 that i'm not forcing you to believe you know my politics or my religion i'm not forcing that on
01:56:17.840 you but i'm not going to adjust where i am you know because i'm not asking you to adjust where
01:56:24.040 you are i'm just saying you have to accept certain things as a reality and that's not
01:56:29.740 you know a uh that's not a toxic relationship unless you make it that yeah no i think that
01:56:36.640 you know i i mean i this can happen to anyone in any political perspective but progressivism
01:56:41.440 really induces people into what is called low differentiation, meaning I'm not able to
01:56:47.480 see disagreement and not feel threatened by it. You know, that really is a sign of a healthy
01:56:52.920 culture is if we can vocalize what we believe, even if we think somebody might disagree with it,
01:56:57.760 and if we can hear someone else do that back to us. And I think the precipice of my nature does
01:57:02.720 not help that. How do you deal with this? If somebody is out there, because I can't tell you
01:57:08.840 how many people in this audience? I mean, I've never seen anything like it. We talked about this
01:57:13.520 two days ago. We're still getting email. This is happening everywhere to people. So you're at home,
01:57:19.180 you have lost a family member. They just will not return your call. They won't even tell you
01:57:25.680 what you did wrong. What do you do? Yeah. Well, I recommend, and I have gleaned this from others
01:57:34.040 to recommend this ending with something written down so because it's easy in the in the moment
01:57:39.760 of confusion and pain to misremember what the person articulated so if you're being cut off
01:57:44.940 or if your relationship is getting strained writing down exactly what you know to be true
01:57:49.420 you're not self-incriminating but you're also trying to own something some piece of this that
01:57:53.980 maybe i can own maybe i didn't respond to you out of curiosity and real caring maybe i got defensive
01:57:59.000 i don't know some small thing and then express love and no accusation ending it with something
01:58:03.800 written, and that your door is open. I mean, the father of the prodigal son is really our model
01:58:08.580 here, who neither chases his child, nor does he try to control him or argue with him. He respects
01:58:17.020 his interior freedom, and he doesn't sit back and lick his wounds, nor calculate all of his
01:58:22.160 offenses, like the elder brother, but he tends to what is good in his life and then waits for him
01:58:26.880 with eagerness. So if you have grandchildren, you just write a letter and then leave it alone,
01:58:32.860 Or do you call all the time, even though you never get through?
01:58:36.240 I mean, it's just it's non-stop wounding.
01:58:40.340 Absolutely.
01:58:40.940 And that's the sad thing is that one no-contact experience cascades out into other relationships and into the future.
01:58:47.060 Right.
01:58:47.240 And that's what's so deeply sad about it.
01:58:51.280 You know, there are limited things you can do and prudence is going to play a part.
01:58:55.800 Some people find that they can write a letter maybe once every two months, maybe send a card, you know,
01:59:01.860 and just express and reiterate the things that you know to be true.
01:59:04.920 I love you.
01:59:05.520 I'm ready to receive you, you know, when you're ready.
01:59:08.720 You know, you don't want to do too much because sometimes the person who is
01:59:12.360 cutting off, they have a low differentiation self.
01:59:14.720 They're trying to differentiate in a clumsy and kind of cruel way.
01:59:18.100 And so they can read that as needy if you're chasing too much or you're
01:59:21.300 trying too hard.
01:59:22.440 So, you know, praying for them,
01:59:24.720 recentering your faith in your life so that you can navigate the suffering
01:59:28.800 that is oftentimes unimaginable to you previously.
01:59:31.860 you know these are all important things so that you're stepping into your parental authority and
01:59:36.660 the nobility of that parental authority that is not again going to denigrate itself but is going
01:59:41.680 to wait and look with reality and tend to what is it within what is within our care and is within
01:59:47.100 our power we can't control the other certainly we're talking to noelle marrying she's the author
01:59:54.020 of no contact how seductive theology broke families and friendships and how we can repair them
01:59:59.460 um it have we been here before in history has have have i mean i think the civil war where
02:00:07.760 families were just completely broken apart but i can't think of any other time other than that
02:00:13.380 have we been here before that's a great question i mean there's always been family ruptures and
02:00:17.780 estrangement as you as you reference um i trace in the book a genealogy that is more akin though
02:00:24.400 to maybe 20th century Maoist denunciations.
02:00:27.580 So certainly there's not anyone with a gun
02:00:29.400 holding them, you know,
02:00:30.960 as someone hostage until they've announced their parent.
02:00:33.660 But there are, you know,
02:00:35.400 it's the same sort of memory erasure.
02:00:37.880 There's, I can't tell you how many families
02:00:39.380 I interviewed that their child said-
02:00:40.980 And you're talking about, you're talking about like Mao times,
02:00:43.820 what they did-
02:00:44.520 Yes, Mao's China, the denunciation of the parents, 0.79
02:00:46.980 denunciation of the old, this erasure of memory.
02:00:49.160 And a lot of these parents say,
02:00:50.520 my kid is rewriting our history.
02:00:53.200 and they have said to me they'll say to the parent i don't want to hear why you voted that way i just
02:00:58.360 want you to tell me you're wrong and basically essentially repent and the relationship is held
02:01:03.500 hostage until you do that so these parents are not like having a normal discussion or argument
02:01:07.920 it's more like a penitent before a tribunal it does mimic sort of real toxic kind of fundamentalist
02:01:13.400 type religion but one that's you know one that's merciless and one that doesn't have god at the
02:01:17.240 center, but the political at the center. So if you follow history, Noelle, and I'd love to spend
02:01:24.440 some time talking to you on this, on another appearance, but if you follow history, there's
02:01:30.140 this pendulum and it swings from the we to the me cycle. And in 2022 or 23, we were at the apex of
02:01:38.040 the we. And so now it comes down. And in this next 10-year period where it's coming down before it
02:01:44.560 starts really getting too weak to do anything in this next 10 years, um, you get into this place
02:01:51.240 to where it's recrimination and it's trials and it's witch hunts and everything else. And this
02:01:57.280 kind of sounds like, kind of like that, where they're not, they don't want, they just want
02:02:02.860 you to say you're wrong. Um, and, uh, and then, you know, society will punish. Um,
02:02:09.620 Do you see anything that is a warning sign that this can spread beyond just individuals and families?
02:02:20.400 Certainly.
02:02:21.240 I mean, I think, yeah, this has grave ramifications on civic unity, certainly.
02:02:26.580 I mean, if we can't stay close with people who we actually have affections and duties of loyalty towards,
02:02:31.840 then how can we as a country or as a community?
02:02:34.240 So there's certainly civic ramifications.
02:02:35.740 I also see real stark spiritual ramifications.
02:02:38.960 So a lot of times kids going no contact will say, I didn't choose to be born.
02:02:43.280 You chose to have me.
02:02:44.220 So you owe me.
02:02:45.060 I don't owe you, which is an inversion of the commandment, of course, to honor thy father
02:02:48.540 and mother.
02:02:49.120 But it also is a denial of first principle of philosophy, that being is good, that my
02:02:53.040 life is not a burden.
02:02:53.960 It's a blessing.
02:02:54.680 You gifted me with life.
02:02:56.280 Now parenthood is cast as a selfish act of assault, in essence.
02:03:00.860 You inflicted life upon me.
02:03:02.660 And so, you know, there's deep nihilism there that I think has massive spiritual ramifications
02:03:06.620 for us as families and as a society.
02:03:09.620 But it also gives a hint to sort of the despair
02:03:12.420 and maybe partially of coming towards the rock bottom
02:03:15.600 that some people are feeling
02:03:16.620 that is bringing them back to spiritual things
02:03:18.960 and bringing them back to more human ways of living.
02:03:21.180 So I think I see both.
02:03:22.500 I see people who are sorting into very extremist camps
02:03:25.060 and others who are finding the old things is new again.
02:03:29.540 When people say, you know, this too will pass,
02:03:32.120 just keep calling, just keep reaching out,
02:03:34.240 just keep, they'll come back.
02:03:35.380 is that just a feel-good thing?
02:03:37.180 Is there any evidence that that is true?
02:03:41.400 Well, you know, in some ways there is,
02:03:43.480 because like most ideologies,
02:03:45.140 this does not work well for anyone.
02:03:47.920 The people who go no contact often opt for a chosen family,
02:03:51.460 a family that emanates out of their autonomy,
02:03:53.500 and those families tend to crash and burn,
02:03:56.580 you know, that they find that they are just as easily unchosen
02:03:59.480 as they were chosen.
02:04:00.960 And so, you know, they realize, you know, I'm getting older,
02:04:03.360 you know, I meet people who are obligated to me,
02:04:05.220 I'm having a mental crisis or a health crisis or financial crisis.
02:04:08.520 So oftentimes, there will be a reunion when the person realizes this really didn't work
02:04:12.320 and I need people who are obliged to me or obligates me.
02:04:15.720 Oftentimes, sometimes when people move into parenthood themselves, they look with greater
02:04:19.360 mercy upon their parents and they also just practically need them more.
02:04:23.340 So sometimes that happens too.
02:04:26.100 Yeah, I've experienced that one myself.
02:04:29.240 Noelle, thank you so much.
02:04:30.320 I really appreciate it.
02:04:31.280 I'd love to have you back on.
02:04:33.020 Noelle Maring, the name of the book.
02:04:35.220 that you should read is no contact how seductive theology broke families and friendships and how
02:04:41.740 we can repair them. That's the most important part. Noelle, thank you so much. We'll talk
02:04:45.740 again. Thank you. Back in just a minute. Let me tell you somewhere out there right now is somebody
02:04:50.300 walking through a house, you know, trying to figure out desperately, you know, how do I,
02:04:57.160 how do I not look like I love this house? How do I send the signal? They love the kitchen. They
02:05:02.380 love the backyard. They've already decided where the Christmas tree is going, but their face is
02:05:06.240 saying, eh, it's okay. Because the last thing they want is the seller to know that emotionally
02:05:10.380 they've already moved in. Real estate's really funny this way. There's money involved, but there's
02:05:14.600 also people involved in emotions and people get excited and nervous and they get attached. And
02:05:19.300 sometimes somebody needs to be beside them going, hey, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Christmas
02:05:23.600 tree should not be in this house. This is really not a good house for you. Somebody who actually
02:05:27.400 knows, who knows what they're doing. One of the reasons I started realestateagentsitrust.com
02:05:33.520 is for this. We'll connect you with experienced agents who know your local market, can help
02:05:38.440 navigate the decisions, negotiations, details that come with buying and selling homes. I bought
02:05:43.480 a house in Connecticut once, and it was listed as charming, colonial and charming. I found out
02:05:51.440 charming means a nightmare. Wish I had a real estate agent that would have said that. Yes,
02:05:56.820 it is charming, but the electricity, all the wiring, all the plumbing, that's not charming.
02:06:02.120 You'll hate it. Got a big checkbook? So check out realestateagentsitrust.com. We'll show you
02:06:08.200 how you can buy or sell a home in this tough market. The name says it all. It's realestateagentsitrust.com.
02:06:15.500 Washington talks. America builds. You're on the right end of that sentence.
02:06:22.440 Glenn Beck, back in a flash.
02:06:26.820 This episode is brought to you by Animals.
02:06:40.400 How far would you go when someone threatens everyone you love?
02:06:44.700 Who can you trust?
02:06:45.980 From Academy Award winner Ben Affleck,
02:06:48.260 Animals stars Affleck, Kerry Washington,
02:06:50.840 Jillian Anderson, and Steven Yeun.
02:06:53.020 When a Los Angeles mayoral candidate's son is kidnapped,
02:06:56.280 He and his wife are pulled into a web of deception, forced to make choices that could tear their world apart.
02:07:02.800 Watch Animals, only on Netflix, on October 9th.
02:07:06.180 Rated R.
02:07:16.860 So there was a hijacking.
02:07:18.420 Well, we know it was a hijacking.
02:07:20.280 We don't know what the intent was.
02:07:21.800 Was it the pilot wanted to commit suicide? 0.99
02:07:23.940 He wanted to kill a bunch of Jews. 1.00
02:07:25.140 He wanted to make a statement. 1.00
02:07:26.280 We don't know.
02:07:27.480 It was headed for Israel, and all of a sudden it took a steep nosedive.
02:07:33.240 The co-pilot tried to slam the plane into the ground.
02:07:36.800 Again, we don't know why yet.
02:07:38.460 But I'll have more on that tomorrow.
02:07:41.260 And it's important not to get into speculation on this because it's a really, really big deal.
02:07:46.300 Let's wait for the facts to come out and then diagnose the problem.
02:07:51.480 I have a feeling I know what the problem might be, but let's not go there.
02:07:55.160 Let's wait until tomorrow and find out the facts.
