00:00:00.000 Greetings, Laddingtons, and welcome back to good old Lustria.
00:00:06.080 They have just released another DLC to this absolute masterpiece of a game,
00:00:11.920 so I thought to just make a short Let's Play video to showcase the Hunt's Marshals Expedition.
00:00:21.500 And I do this because I believe this game to be one of the best games I've ever played,
00:00:26.220 and I do say that because it invokes a certain feeling,
00:00:31.940 and it has a certain aesthetics which are beneficial to our great cause of becoming forces of nature.
00:00:40.340 So if you see in the background here, you can see the Empire coming in with ships to colonize the New World,
00:00:47.260 and on the right-hand side you see the verdant, unconquered Lustria.
00:00:53.360 So it's a game that invokes the feeling of epicness, heroism, and adventure.
00:01:00.640 So I am a great fan of this game, and that's also because I'm a great fan of Warhammer in general.
00:01:07.400 And then of course also, whenever I make a Let's Play, I get to comment,
00:01:11.960 why are you making gaming videos?
00:01:14.140 Well, that's because I believe gaming to be an absolutely brilliant way to portray culture,
00:01:19.680 and to partake in a story, and to get some inspiration.
00:01:24.220 And of course, as I always say, if you do game, if you're a gamer, be sure to game in moderation,
00:01:29.740 and be sure to only game when you have taken care of the business for the day.
00:01:35.700 So if you have been to the gym, if you've done your other work, you can relax, unwind a bit,
00:01:41.320 and there is absolutely not a single soul in the world who can do work 24-7.
00:01:46.860 Everyone needs downtime, and I believe gaming to be a good way to have some downtime,
00:01:51.800 to relax, to recharge your batteries.
00:01:54.800 So keep that in mind.
00:01:58.160 Anyway, we have in this particular DLC, we have Marcus Wolfhardt.
00:02:03.460 Nice name, of course. 0.97
00:02:05.120 And we also have another mad cunt, which is called Nakai the Wanderer. 0.95
00:02:16.280 Now, we will play as Marcus in this DLC, but I just thought to show this absolute unit. 0.97
00:02:23.000 Look at how juicy he is.
00:02:24.920 He has not been skipping deadlift today, as you can see on his physique.
00:02:29.840 So anyway, back to The Monsters Shall Be Slain.
00:02:37.520 So we have an initial challenge of hard, which is fine.
00:02:42.820 And then some different bonuses, primarily to ambushing and upkeep for archers.
00:02:49.280 So we'll play on Legendary and battle hard.
00:02:52.760 I think that's a good mix for a challenging gameplay.
00:02:56.940 And I'll see if I will make more episodes on this.
00:02:59.780 This is mostly to showcase the game and to show this new DLC.
00:03:04.500 So let's get into the game itself.
00:03:26.940 Words spread of their wealth, and others were eager to follow.
00:03:39.860 Fuelled by greed, men of the Empire venture deeper into the jungle's heart.
00:03:59.460 The land of beasts, ravaged and plundered for its riches.
00:04:09.300 It will not be without consequence.
00:04:14.180 The jungle stirs, a cold-blooded fury, rising to punish the invaders.
00:04:30.740 In the temple cities of Lustria, the Lizardmen enact a ritual to call upon their mighty guardian.
00:04:42.020 For the Wanderer roams Lustria once more.
00:04:53.500 The spirit of the jungle made manifest.
00:04:59.280 A reckoning has come.
00:05:00.920 Only the strongest will survive the coming bloodshed.
00:05:08.600 So yes, that's exactly what I mean with the aesthetics and the feel to the game.
00:05:23.120 I don't know if you feel the same when watching stuff like this.
00:05:27.120 Maybe I'm biased because I've always been a great Warhammer fan.
00:05:30.580 But I do believe if you can draw inspiration from this type of settings, it's definitely a great thing.
00:05:40.200 So yeah, I will do a glorious session after recording this.
00:05:46.760 And it will probably be at some sort of outdoor gym.
00:05:50.100 And it will be then to perform a hundred chin-ups.
00:06:00.580 The near unimaginable wealth of these lands is dispatched home through the coastal colonies.
00:06:07.900 But recent raids by the Lizardbeasts have set the Empire back. 0.99
00:06:12.740 And I expect further attacks.
00:06:15.920 Other enemies loom nearby.
00:06:18.800 Savage orcs, no less, who raid nearby abandoned cities.
00:06:23.440 These ancient places are sure to harbor more riches, so are prime locations for colonization.
00:06:31.960 But we must be aware that the Lizardbeasts dominate these jungles.
00:06:37.560 For our colonies to survive their threat, reinforcements will be needed from home.
00:06:43.700 The time of opportunity is now.
00:06:46.820 Lustria and its dangers await.
00:06:48.560 Anything that stands before me in the hope of defeating the Empire will meet its end by my bow.
00:06:55.880 It is the Emperor's will.
00:07:00.340 Alright, as I said, peak optics, peak aesthetics.
00:07:04.380 And if you want to look at, yeah, peak aesthetics man, you can look at the Emperor Karl Franz in this game also.
00:07:14.920 So anyway, let's see what the crack is.
00:07:18.640 We have how they play.
00:07:20.620 And also when I say the crack, it's an Irish saying.
00:07:24.060 It's basically saying what's fun, what's going on, or what's up.
00:07:28.100 So, the crack is that the Emperor's mandate, sent to the shores of Lustria by Imperial mandate,
00:07:35.420 Markus Wolfhardt, intends to protect the New World colonies from their Lustrian predators with only limited supplies and troop numbers, 0.98
00:07:45.460 as further reinforcements will not arrive from the Old World for quite some time.
00:07:51.380 Okay, but we can get more things if we do glorious things.
00:07:57.180 The beasts of this land must be removed if our colonies are to flourish. 0.53
00:08:06.260 The first blow must be swift and lethal. 0.69
00:08:10.440 It is vital we act quickly before these monsters can move against us. 0.96
00:08:15.140 Alright, we need to remove these monsters.
00:08:18.420 We have Berry Drury, and I think it might actually be a halfling, a hobbit, that particular gentleman. 1.00
00:08:34.200 Alright, let's get into the game itself then.
00:08:38.380 We're going to first and foremost, which I usually do when I play this game,
00:08:42.200 look at the diplomacy, see if we can initiate trade with someone.
00:08:48.780 And we have all the Lizardmen factions, do not like us in the least.
00:08:54.180 Then we have some Norsemen. 0.99
00:08:57.700 Los Derikson of the Cool.
00:09:00.400 He doesn't like us either.
00:09:02.940 We can't trade with these guys.
00:09:05.360 We have New World Colonies.
00:09:08.280 Helmut Nussbaker, and this is...
00:09:12.200 And an Imperial as well, so he will probably want to be our friend.
00:09:19.580 You can see if we want to be in a defensive alliance as well.
00:09:23.820 Aha, how about just a trade agreement?
00:09:29.500 Nice, now we have increased our income.
00:09:33.600 It's always a nice thing.
00:09:35.080 And then we have Vampire Coast Mutineers. 0.93
00:09:40.700 Do you want to trade with me?
00:09:43.200 We will probably not, but we can have a non-aggression pact.
00:09:47.960 And what happens now is that the longer we have a treaty with these guys,
00:09:51.540 the more likely it is that we can have a trade agreement later on.
00:09:56.960 So now that's done.
00:09:58.740 We have increased our income just a bit.
00:10:00.880 And we're going to see...
00:10:01.960 We have a little army.
00:10:07.920 And we have a...
00:10:10.840 I don't know exactly what might be.
00:10:12.540 A feral bastillon can be quite hard to deal with.
00:10:15.420 But we do have a good setup here as well.
00:10:20.300 What is the most reasonable to do, in my humble opinion,
00:10:24.220 is to recruit some units.
00:10:27.020 And we'll go with the archers, I suppose.
00:10:30.700 Dun-dun-dun-dun.
00:10:33.520 Because we have some infantry to hold the line.
00:10:37.960 And since he had some bonuses for archers, we're going to focus on that.
00:10:41.940 And then, of course...
00:10:45.940 Temple of Tlekan. 0.99
00:10:50.940 And let's see if we actually need this building.
00:10:56.700 We can't really build anything else.
00:10:58.300 So I suppose that will have to be the first step.
00:11:02.680 And then the technology.
00:11:05.460 Go in here.
00:11:08.440 Mass-produced small ammunition.
00:11:10.480 So 10% plus ammunition for all of our ranged ladding tons.
00:11:17.940 And then we have colonial library.
00:11:21.480 I like the different things here.
00:11:25.060 For colonial factors.
00:11:26.600 Hunting advances.
00:11:30.460 Recruit rank.
00:11:31.640 Plus 2 for all imperial supplies units.
00:11:34.160 Can be good too.
00:11:36.140 And Seaborn logistics.
00:11:38.460 Right, so we have some...
00:11:40.500 Different things here.
00:11:45.300 That might be good.
00:11:47.860 Let's actually go with this one.
00:11:50.220 Missiles.
00:11:51.100 So we come a bit better in battle.
00:11:55.060 I suppose.
00:11:55.840 And then we'll take the turn.
00:11:57.400 See what happens in the next turn here.
00:12:01.660 Maybe they will actually attack us.
00:12:05.020 And we have a battle on our hand in this episode.
00:12:07.520 Yes, we do have a battle.
00:12:14.480 And yeah, let's get into it.
00:12:17.060 Let's get this done.
00:12:18.260 Let's get this done.
00:12:20.340 And yeah, we have some archers.
00:12:26.020 One, two units.
00:12:27.720 Then we have a war wagon.
00:12:29.500 Missile chariot.
00:12:30.720 If you haven't seen this before.
00:12:33.180 It's a new addition to the game.
00:12:35.120 Then of course, Marcus himself.
00:12:38.880 Will be nice to see in action.
00:12:41.940 Alright, we are in the battle. 0.98
00:12:44.620 And we will start by deploying these mad cunts about there. 1.00
00:12:53.840 Including our gallant Marcus Wolfhardt. 0.99
00:12:56.620 Which will then hopefully bring the lizard men coming up to face them. 1.00
00:13:04.540 Which means that we can have these shooting them in the flank. 0.98
00:13:07.880 And the empire endures. 0.97
00:13:11.180 Let's have a look at these.
00:13:13.160 Oh, that's quite cool.
00:13:15.860 Aesthetic barding on the horses as well.
00:13:18.080 So a war wagon full of ladding tons. 0.92
00:13:21.900 Ready to shoot.
00:13:24.380 And we'll just keep our infantry there I suppose. 0.98
00:13:30.340 And boom. 0.96
00:13:31.900 Let's start the battle.
00:13:33.600 And see what these lizard men might bring to the table. 1.00
00:13:41.720 So we have the feral bastilladon.
00:13:46.820 Bastilladon is how you say it I suppose.
00:13:50.200 Which might be a problem.
00:13:52.620 So we'll have to keep our spearmen to fight off that unit.
00:14:00.680 We also have a focused shot.
00:14:03.600 Which is a magic missile. 0.99
00:14:05.360 So we're gonna shoot this monster with this special shot. 1.00
00:14:11.400 See what happens. 1.00
00:14:14.400 Boom.
00:14:15.380 Alright.
00:14:15.840 Yeah, that's good enough.
00:14:16.560 Right, so they are coming towards our archers.
00:14:27.140 We'll have to pull them back so they don't get into melee combat.
00:14:30.580 That wouldn't be good at all.
00:14:33.600 Now let's see.
00:14:42.980 Yes, that's good.
00:14:44.080 So we're slowly but surely getting the HP down upon this unit.
00:14:52.900 Maybe we can actually engage our spearmen to deal with it as well.
00:14:58.420 Locked in.
00:15:01.800 Take the ground.
00:15:03.480 Now.
00:15:04.640 Yes, sir.
00:15:08.540 And.
00:15:09.820 Right, let's see what's happening here.
00:15:12.340 Done.
00:15:14.360 I have to get.
00:15:16.220 This.
00:15:17.360 Away from combat as well.
00:15:20.880 And no.
00:15:21.940 Spearmen.
00:15:22.500 You were not supposed to engage there.
00:15:23.880 Let's see if I can get them to break loose.
00:15:29.340 So we can engage the Bastilla dom.
00:15:40.000 Right.
00:15:40.600 We have routed the skink cohort. 1.00
00:15:43.440 Nice.
00:15:43.740 And right, if I'm not that talkative, it's because I'm desperately trying to focus on winning this important battle.
00:16:00.520 Okay, if you can just break out there, I would be happy.
00:16:06.200 And I think we can actually charge in to melee with these guys.
00:16:10.320 Boom.
00:16:13.780 Yes, we could.
00:16:15.660 Good stuff.
00:16:16.280 Good stuff. 0.99
00:16:18.600 Let's shoot this. 0.96
00:16:21.580 Where is it? 0.94
00:16:22.840 There is the Bastilla dom.
00:16:30.240 Alright, spearmen. 1.00
00:16:31.180 I encourage you to cut this monster down. 0.98
00:16:40.320 And I have skirmish mode on this. 0.97
00:16:45.460 I suppose we don't really need to.
00:16:47.720 Because I think Marcus can take on Karok in single combat. 1.00
00:16:54.500 I'm not quite sure though, but we'll see.
00:17:01.660 Boom.
00:17:02.940 Epic.
00:17:05.620 Let's see how things fare up here.
00:17:10.320 Yes, and I'm completely correct in assuming that Marcus will deal with this monster here. 1.00
00:17:17.660 Looks like quite a mad cunt though. 1.00
00:17:20.180 The enemy there. 1.00
00:17:22.200 No, our war wagon has routed.
00:17:27.600 But yeah, they have rallied.
00:17:37.160 And I suppose this looks quite good for us.
00:17:44.480 Let's see if we can get away another shot here from our magic bow.
00:17:49.540 Boom.
00:17:54.460 Killing blow. 0.99
00:17:55.460 Nice. 0.99
00:17:56.860 Well done, Marcus.
00:17:58.880 Well done indeed.
00:18:01.300 Right.
00:18:01.940 So I do believe we have this battle.
00:18:05.160 They are fleeing.
00:18:06.460 And yes, we do.
00:18:08.280 We do.
00:18:08.660 That will have to be a good and satisfactory conclusion to this episode, I suppose.
00:18:15.420 So not the longest of Let's Play videos.
00:18:19.940 But again, I just want to mainly actually show you that intro.
00:18:24.560 Because it was the first time I saw it.
00:18:26.720 But I suspected it was going to be great.
00:18:30.480 Which it was.
00:18:32.660 Since it is autumn, I will make more Let's Plays of some sort of game.
00:18:37.160 Because that's how autumns should be.
00:18:40.680 And I know they are somewhat appreciated at least.
00:18:43.820 When it's getting a bit darker outside.
00:18:46.220 So do let me know if there is any particular game you would like me to make Let's Plays of. 0.98
00:18:52.640 And we'll kill these captives. 0.96
00:18:56.200 So they retreat there. 1.00
00:19:00.040 And we can recruit some more units.
00:19:02.660 I'm just going to take this turn before I check out.
00:19:09.000 Right.
00:19:09.380 Last thing.
00:19:12.340 Just going to see what fun things.
00:19:15.820 Focused shot.
00:19:17.260 Cooldown.
00:19:18.920 Boom.
00:19:19.580 Let's go with that.
00:19:20.940 Alright.
00:19:21.500 Thank you for watching.
00:19:22.580 And I wish you all a great weekend ahead.
00:19:26.200 Next section.
00:19:27.120 Boom.
