00:00:00.000Hello lads, today I want to talk about a few things. First and foremost I would like to give you an update on my book.
00:00:08.580So the release date will be somewhere in the first quarter of 2019.
00:00:14.560What I'm doing right now is that I'm basically reading through all the chapters, adding some information, adding some footnotes, etc.
00:00:21.680Then I'm going to add some last thoughts and then the introduction chapter.
00:00:27.280So the book is soon complete and I thought to make this video because the last chapter I proofread and edited was the one on martial arts.
00:00:40.520And then I thought I don't know if I have actually elaborated upon this in a video.
00:00:46.340So then I thought today's video might be that along with said update that yes the book is coming along.
00:00:52.340I think it will be really good. I think it will be very well received.
00:00:56.480Then obviously we have worked quite a bit with Jotunheim Nutrition and Legio Gloria.
00:01:01.900So follow the Instagram for respective brand below so that you can stay tuned on the updates.
00:01:07.660So yeah some good stuff are coming in the next few days.
00:01:12.020The next week for Jotunheim Nutrition and I am looking at an option to ship for all of Europe.
00:01:19.600So we have some whey banana with stevia because I know some people don't like aspartum and also some new clothes from Legio Gloria.
00:01:29.720But enough about that. Check out the links in the description.
00:01:33.160So the topic at hand. Judo for street fighting and self-defense.
00:01:38.720Now the point here I want to make is that you don't really see all too much Judo in MMA.
00:01:46.100And that is because it's not particularly effective if you compare it to how effective it is in an altercation that might arise in the mean streets of the chaotic cities of Western Europe or Americas.
00:02:01.080So the point here is that first and foremost if you look at an MMA match they are beginning a few meters separated.
00:02:09.060An altercation on the street can start you being just a few decimeters from your opponent.
00:02:14.940Now in Judo obviously you want to be able to grab your opponent as soon as possible.
00:02:19.420And especially if the opponent is not well versed in any martial arts at all.
00:02:24.420So that's the first step that it's much easier to initiate in a predicament that can arise in the street than it is in an MMA fight.
00:02:33.280The second part is that Judo you obviously train with a gi and that translates much better into clothing such as jackets etc.
00:02:42.040Whereas it does not translate equally well to an MMA fight where you can't grab the clothes.
00:02:47.560Same thing goes with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for that matter.
00:02:50.320So that's also something to keep in mind.
00:02:52.380And then lastly and perhaps most importantly if you compare the getting thrown on a soft training mat versus getting thrown on a pavement.
00:03:03.960And I can I will admit that before I trained some Judo myself we had it as a compliment to a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
00:03:11.280Shout out to Warchief Shani in Ireland.
