The Golden One - Kingdom of Asturias： The Reconquista. Total War： Attila. Part 1

00:00:00.000 Greetings you proud sons of mother Europe. Welcome back to Attila. We have a new DLC,

00:00:13.320 Age of Charlemagne. I've looked forward to this greatly and when I saw that it was gonna be

00:00:20.040 released I thought to myself okay cool let us go with whatever Viking faction was available.

00:00:25.840 The Danes I thought to go with paganism and raid England but I don't want any European infighting 0.96

00:00:32.680 now in these harsh times so what could be more inspiring than to go with the kingdom of Asturias.

00:00:42.700 So although the Visigoths have been destroyed and their kingdom shattered their spirit lives on. 0.96

00:00:49.540 When the Umayyad Caliphate invaded Imperia the Visigoths were all but wiped out. 0.62

00:00:54.460 Yet a surviving nobleman. That is one story I would like to delve into as it were. So our faction will be

00:01:04.120 the kingdom of Asturias and we have a glorious champion there. Glad that I'm doing this with

00:01:12.160 my beard also. So we're gonna try to reconquer Spain and Portugal in this let's play and also I'm gonna

00:01:20.260 try to make this a bit more entertaining and a bit better than the last Western Roman campaign

00:01:25.300 because I felt that was a bit too too large of an empire to make a successive series of. But here

00:01:32.920 we have a smaller empire so I'm gonna take you through the whole campaign and hopefully you will

00:01:37.960 find it a bit more immersive and entertaining. So we're gonna go with very hard as my standard thing

00:01:45.920 to go. And here's our starting position. So I'm gonna start the campaign right now.

00:01:52.920 There have been many kings before you. Many names. Many titles.

00:02:12.920 Men who rose from nothing. Men who risked all that they love. To lead by honor and virtue and inspire the common man.

00:02:40.920 Do you think you're different? Somehow chosen? Who gave you the right to rule? It wasn't the people.

00:03:07.920 It wasn't God. It wasn't God. It was you.

00:03:34.920 You have fought to preserve every inch of this land from the Islamic invaders. Indeed we have. 1.00

00:03:39.920 Indeed we have. But you cannot hide behind the Cantabrian mountains forever. Beyond the Umayyads persist. 1.00

00:03:47.920 Yet there is a lot of heathens. To the east the governors of Pamplona, Zaragoza and Barcelona have defied the Umayyads and rebelled against their cruelty. 1.00

00:03:59.920 Awesome. That is glorious if anything. Their descent is weakness in the otherwise formidable Umayyad forces. So capturing their lands could give you much needed strength in the struggle to come. 1.00

00:04:12.920 The victory in the east would also enable you to reconnect with your Frankish allies who share no love for Islam. 0.92

00:04:21.920 Indeed. Especially not now. In this day and age.

00:04:24.920 The Battle of Poitiers with Charles the Hammer.

00:04:30.920 Charles Martel. Charles Martel. In English.

00:04:37.920 The Spanish Peninsula will be Holy Christian once again. 0.87

00:04:40.920 It will indeed. And we will usher in this new age of prosperity.

00:04:44.920 Watch the invaders into the sea. With Christ at the head of your armies. 0.98

00:04:48.920 Glory to God himself.

00:04:51.920 Alright. Awesome. I put off the facecam there for the intro trailer so that you can admire it in its fullness.

00:05:00.920 So. We have the situation before us right here. We are pushed up against the sea.

00:05:11.920 Last stand for Christianity in Spain. You can see here we have these old regions are desolate. We have burned it so the bloody Muslims couldn't take them. 1.00

00:05:26.920 However we are quite close here. The Emirate of Cordoba. So what we could do is try to take Portugal there. That would be our main strategy. 0.99

00:05:37.920 And then obviously we don't want to fight any other Christians. So. Let us. True friends. In all anxiety. Look at the possibility of. Going into diplomacy. 0.96

00:05:49.920 And. You can see here we have. We can trade with a lot of people. Same blood as well. Same people.

00:05:55.920 Same people. So. We are just going to run through and see. Wonderful. Just want to increase the trade. That is the first thing I always do.

00:06:07.920 Speak. For you have my attention as the ear of me. In any given total war. Okay. I welcome you on behalf of the people. And give ear to your words. And then also if you see that they are going high. You can always add something extra. Perhaps a bit of shekels.

00:06:25.920 More. If you see that. If you see that. There is no more.

00:06:27.920 No more. I got some weapons. Oh wait there is no more often you can Kingsman.

00:06:28.920 But there is no more often you have time to go. Brilliant. No more.

00:06:30.020 Alright. 125 year and 35 years old. Magic. Okay. Well there is no more opists. 1.00

00:06:30.640 Okay. Military access. No.

00:06:35.640 Alright, boom. Wonderful. Wonderful. 100.

00:06:37.120 Unbelievable. Kingdom of Brittany.

00:06:39.920 Ah, that. That's. That's a good old Celt. We are an honest folk. We are an honest folk. We are honest in others. 1.00

00:06:45.080 That's awesome.

00:06:46.240 By the way. I will talk about this later on as well but regarding my T-shirt and my Legio Celtic design that isn't just specified to Ireland. That is a

00:06:55.640 whole european thing because the celts were after all all over europe as a culture more than

00:07:03.720 an ethnicity actually same thing in ireland actually more more a culture than an ethnicity

00:07:09.640 but more about that later on military alliance no that's a bit of a too bold claim non-aggression

00:07:17.080 pact and some shekels for for us ah wonderful they're done all right cool so as you can see

00:07:27.400 kingdom of charlemagne last one okay charlemagne did not want to trade with us just yet as it were

00:07:37.800 so we have a ramiro a proud man of spain he will actually scout the way here and see see what the

00:07:45.720 crack is down down here so what we're gonna aim at doing is simply to i suppose send this army down

00:07:56.120 and also we can look a bit about the new graphics of the game because this is a rather big dlc

00:08:02.520 you can see we have new more medieval style looking graphics to it which i rather like actually same

00:08:11.160 thing here it looks a bit more medieval a bit more cozy actually i i like it the dawn of a brighter

00:08:17.720 future for europe uh totally different than attila the um the original game which is set um about 400

00:08:29.240 350 years prior to this uh so we can see here a bit different aesthetics as it were and also if we look

00:08:37.000 at the um different duchess and smaller factions have begun to arise here in in europe so first things

00:08:48.040 first what can we do uh public order yes please uh why not we also have a replenishment and um yeah

00:08:58.200 well let's let's just go with something there shall we we can look at our king as well this if anyone is

00:09:04.680 one high test alpha male and this guy he doesn't have a wife and he doesn't have enough influence to 0.93

00:09:13.480 gain a wife how silly of him all right let us place some um um good old governor's patron 0.81

00:09:27.960 um well yes you will obviously be uh oh okay 0.96

00:09:36.600 aha we could only have one governor and that's obviously in our main region here so what we're

00:09:43.640 gonna do just gonna go with the construction cost so the next turn this will uh take place

00:09:51.320 and then these will be cheaper to build so we're gonna build here instead then

00:09:59.000 in all actuality we only

00:10:04.360 fishing port no i would like a trading port

00:10:09.480 trade waf

00:10:11.880 ah oh well it will have to be what it is there

00:10:14.600 uh an iron mine sounds cool enough there and we can't really afford anything more now let us

00:10:25.800 without further ado to your friends begin the reconquista as it were

00:10:32.680 can also upgrade this to a barrack and could be a cool thing but we're gonna save that to next turn

00:10:40.520 be right back all right i utilize a little edit there while the turn was running

00:10:47.720 and we have a mission issued the kingdom of spain

00:10:51.960 fucking juicy that's that if anything is glorious okay let's true friends look at the possibility of 0.96

00:11:00.840 oh look at that the moors have left the city unguarded as it were 0.99

00:11:10.680 okay let's let's go with it declare war yes

00:11:17.640 of the barbarians and as usual i will not bother with taking that battle 0.97

00:11:23.080 on the battlefield i'm sure we'll have plenty of fighting to do

00:11:27.160 um godly okay cool we have imperium noteworthy how how quaint at least

00:11:43.480 we've also gained a level and this graphics is also new actually

00:11:51.080 um upkeep that's nice

00:12:00.280 so we reduced the upkeep with um a little bit at least and now we can repair you

00:12:09.400 that's cheap enough and you can go a bit further so we could try to take lisbon

00:12:15.560 and perhaps not push all too much now in the beginning so we don't get overwhelmed

00:12:25.480 now let's look at some another fishing port

00:12:29.160 no logging cap that sounds like a cool thing to do in all actuality

00:12:43.160 also we can recruit a few more units

00:12:48.600 iberian cavalry

00:12:49.880 and levy skirmisher there we go beautiful okay be right back

00:13:00.200 oh yeah i i was only joking not be right back because we can actually issue another

00:13:06.360 marsa

00:13:11.960 marsa inferior and there we go with you beautiful and we have to issue something there

00:13:25.560 tax rate all is good ah look that papal stakes

00:13:29.480 across the mediterranean at the seat of christian power in rome the pope grows restless he is determined

00:13:38.840 to see the true religion spread to all corners of the world and is charged jew with the task of 1.00

00:13:44.680 converting iberia and stemming the tide of islamic heretics rising there there is much to be gained 1.00

00:13:53.240 from aiding the pontiff in this endeavor the papal states are powerful and influential they will most

00:13:59.080 certainly reward you for your service yet even without the incentive of material wealth is it

00:14:05.640 not the prospect of spreading the true religion reward enough it is indeed it is indeed no question

00:14:13.960 about that at all and that is what this whole campaign is about retaking the blasphemous 0.93

00:14:21.000 iberian islamic states so what we want to do is go ahead

00:14:37.080 and see what the crack is here hello lisbon

00:14:42.360 start a fire

00:14:43.240 no don't really want to burn our own cities remember that it's just occupied okay cool so

00:14:52.600 the road there lies clear and they don't have anything there so hopefully they don't have any

00:14:57.160 big armies there coming up uh gonna stay here for another turn i suppose and

00:15:06.680 recruit a few more units and see the public order there isn't all too good i'm afraid

00:15:13.400 right cool and i'm not gonna edit this turn away so you can see the um the various emblems of the

00:15:22.920 different factions and that's something i really like and it is sort of historical games

00:15:27.480 always get some cool um inspiration

00:15:34.760 resettle two of the following regions leon valadoid salamanca the pope's blessing

00:15:40.920 that's awesome that's awesome that is awesome indeed okay so we have 0.81

00:15:48.680 fuck uh rebellion imminent here and not very good at all i'm afraid 0.74

00:15:58.680 public order is quite it's fine here so i suppose we can upgrade braga to something 0.97

00:16:05.080 public order a grape press that if anything will make them happy okay so we can see if

00:16:18.120 if we can

00:16:19.240 um change anything here

00:16:35.400 okay no and they will still rebel so um i suppose we'll just have to defeat the rebels

00:16:44.680 uh in all actuality so we'll have to wait a bit with this ones heaven be praised

00:16:52.600 okay the emir's chosen they will fall to my blade surely

00:16:57.480 okay okay taking a turn then we have a rebellion on our hands but this will not deter the valiant

00:17:07.480 champions of christ not one bit thank you very much

00:17:11.400 uh so yeah i i really like this sort of emblems uh always have it's cool rebellion okay

00:17:23.960 but where are the 0.99

00:17:27.080 spanish rebels you're rebelling against your own people you bloody heretics 1.00

00:17:32.760 uh okay then we're gonna have a field battle there oh well 0.99

00:17:40.760 we'll just have to march you up there and and yeah that's what we're gonna do

00:17:50.680 i'm gonna see if this guy can actually reach yeah he should be able to 0.91

00:17:54.280 he can't target that one how silly of him heaven be praised

00:18:02.680 cool we can do uh something here raiding conquerors fatigue rate that's um that sounds glorious

00:18:13.720 and uh what more can we do we can raise another army maybe aurelio politician

00:18:24.280 oh yeah that's that's our king bernando entrepreneur warrior strategist

00:18:34.600 we're gonna go with favela he seems like a glorious guy see if we can raise a little army there as well

00:18:44.760 now uh oh cool we can build something fun here a hostel

00:18:51.800 that's nice so we can invite our christian brothers from all over europe to come and

00:18:59.320 come and live in our hostel and um and fight um muslims with us sounds like a rather cool idea to be honest 1.00

00:19:09.720 so defeat a rebel defamation how dare 0.96

00:19:23.000 pay him off

00:19:26.840 okay cool we have a little a little rank gained how quaint

00:19:30.840 and authority conning increases or decreases the maintenance cost

00:19:41.720 no question about that oh look at that servant corruption minus five percent absolutely glorious

00:19:48.840 now then you 1.00

00:19:56.920 bloody traitors for god himself 1.00

00:20:03.800 that is uh a rather given back to be honest 0.98

00:20:07.320 yeah we can sell them off

00:20:17.000 all right cool

00:20:20.600 now let's march down again so we can deal with this um

00:20:27.400 this bus touch gonna go with the supplies there

00:20:31.400 commander commander and yeah they're building up an army here i am a shadow

00:20:39.640 it's gonna double check so they don't come up with aha they are oh look at that 0.84

00:20:46.920 we have three friends a battle coming up

00:20:50.360 and they can go okay not that far so we we can come down with the other army i'm gonna build something fun as well

00:21:09.320 let us build

00:21:17.320 let us build

00:21:20.680 a barracks for the crack

00:21:23.240 all right and utilize a little editor

00:21:27.320 and we have gained a rank

00:21:32.200 i'm gonna go with wealth and conning

00:21:35.080 and

00:21:38.360 that one

00:21:40.360 all right so as we can see here their army has

00:21:45.160 okay there it is

00:21:50.200 hello general abd al rahman

00:21:54.360 how are you this fine day

00:21:55.720 so can they actually

00:22:01.000 yeah they can reach us next time and our guys can

00:22:07.960 reached as well

00:22:09.880 so can we

00:22:12.840 mercenary

00:22:14.680 andalusian infantry

00:22:18.200 could be a good idea

00:22:20.440 i think we should be able to beat them though

00:22:23.000 our two armies combined

00:22:25.160 against their one

00:22:28.840 i'm gonna do

00:22:30.600 like this either way

00:22:33.880 it will take some of our

00:22:39.240 some more shekels but

00:22:43.960 there is no price for the salvation of christ

00:22:48.360 okay cool let's see

00:22:52.360 if they're gonna charge us

00:22:54.600 and turn

00:22:56.920 and now let us

00:22:58.920 true friends in all actuality see what the crack is

00:23:01.320 no

00:23:06.280 no

00:23:07.000 they are um

00:23:08.680 we will have a fight in this episode though i can

00:23:11.080 i can promise that

00:23:12.680 that's a good start at least to this campaign

00:23:20.280 rank gained

00:23:21.640 silo

00:23:23.800 good timing

00:23:26.760 aha marksman

00:23:28.200 authority

00:23:31.640 commander's aura

00:23:33.000 that's

00:23:34.120 that's really good

00:23:39.240 and seal grants us

00:23:42.680 charge bonus

00:23:44.360 yes lovely

00:23:46.920 now my muslim friends

00:23:49.320 i suppose they will 1.00

00:23:57.480 assault us there

00:24:00.360 okay so what we'll do

00:24:01.480 is we're gonna exchange

00:24:03.480 the garrison

00:24:04.280 so the better general will be

00:24:06.120 in there

00:24:07.720 and these cavalry heavy units

00:24:09.720 will stay outside of there

00:24:11.320 but i'm gonna transfer the

00:24:14.280 infantry

00:24:15.560 at least

00:24:15.960 so we have our um

00:24:19.400 cavalry units here

00:24:21.720 stationed behind

00:24:24.120 so they can swoop in later

00:24:26.440 right we still have some shekels so we can build stuff with

00:24:29.880 and

00:24:31.640 market town

00:24:32.920 i suppose that can be a

00:24:38.040 yeah we're gonna move the market town right

00:24:41.160 there

00:24:41.480 i am yours to command

00:24:45.560 all right

00:24:46.440 end turn

00:24:46.920 and now they should

00:24:48.360 they should charge

00:24:49.160 it would be cool

00:24:50.040 it would be a good um

00:24:52.440 good thing

00:24:54.360 to happen

00:24:55.000 actually

00:24:55.640 yes there we go

00:25:01.080 for god himself

00:25:03.560 aha

00:25:05.240 okay that was

00:25:06.440 um

00:25:08.440 that was a smart thing i suppose

00:25:17.480 that was a smart thing indeed

00:25:21.400 i suppose okay they do not actually attack our settlement

00:25:27.640 highly blasphemous

00:25:29.320 commander

00:25:39.160 so i suppose that we have to

00:25:44.440 sally forth there

00:25:47.080 wish we're gonna buy some more

00:25:49.800 or hire some more mercenaries

00:25:53.000 all right true friends what to do what to do

00:25:55.320 ready for orders

00:25:58.760 we have to break the siege

00:26:02.760 in all acts healthy so if we go with you

00:26:08.920 there

00:26:14.680 you are in the range to support us so let's sally out

00:26:17.880 boom

00:26:19.640 they retreat

00:26:20.360 which is awesome

00:26:25.880 and there is their king

00:26:29.560 and we will get him

00:26:31.560 true friends we will get him

00:26:34.280 okay he's not quite in range there

00:26:37.480 there he is in range

00:26:39.000 boom

00:26:39.880 there we are

00:26:42.360 awesome

00:26:43.880 god we outnumbered him quite

00:26:47.000 significantly there

00:26:50.360 how about that

00:26:52.120 okay i'm gonna auto resolve that i suppose

00:26:56.040 boom

00:26:59.400 highly glorious

00:27:00.680 by the way let me know in the comment section if you would have liked me to take that battle

00:27:04.760 because i i don't know if you want to see the new units the graphics etc

00:27:10.360 we will not take on warriors these are these are incompatible with our western christian values

00:27:16.120 so we're gonna ransom them instead

00:27:18.680 uh so yeah let me know in the comments if you would like me to take this uh the smaller battles

00:27:24.760 or i mean this um more given battles as it were

00:27:30.120 the colors of the deep

00:27:38.360 hello imam marwan

00:27:40.280 right

00:27:44.120 let us take this little army as well

00:27:52.840 aha

00:27:55.640 that is a more even battle

00:27:58.600 well then let's do it true friends let us look at the possibility of defeating these heathens

00:28:04.680 so i guess i kind of answered my or i mean i guess it didn't really matter that i didn't take the previous battle since we get uh

00:28:12.600 battle in this episode either way

00:28:15.480 uh i don't like rain

00:28:19.320 dry will have to suffice for now

00:28:21.960 okay okay they are

00:28:31.800 never hidden okay that's it's fine i suppose
