00:00:00.560 Greetings my esteemed supporters. I am checking in from Total War Warhammer 2, one of the
00:00:08.880 greatest games of all time. Shoutout to my man, Jan, from the Czech Republic for gifting
00:00:14.880 me this fine game. And as you see before you, if you are a fellow Warhammer enjoyer, you
00:00:23.040 might see that there's some new artwork greeting us at the new starting page. So you see on
00:00:28.600 the left hand side you have some beastmen, causing mayhem, carnage, driven by ressentiment,
00:00:37.000 ressentiment, as I mentioned in my two previous videos, against the glorious lizardmen as you
00:00:44.220 can see on your right hand side here. So we're gonna get into the campaigns. I just want to
00:00:50.640 say that I did actually paint some lizardmen the other day. You can see them before you
00:00:56.040 right now. Quite aesthetic, if I may be so bold. Let me know in the comment section if
00:01:01.720 I may actually be so bold, if they are supremely aesthetic. That's for a game called Warhammer
00:01:08.920 Underworlds. So it's a miniature game, really good, one of the best games I've ever played.
00:01:14.920 I will make a separate video on it. So anyway, let's get into the campaign at hand. I go with
00:01:22.760 the Eye of the Vortex. So we have three new characters. We have first and foremost
00:01:32.360 a chameleon skink. So that's sort of a scout skink. And if you don't know,
00:01:42.360 the lizardmen here, they are based on Central American civilizations. So Aztecs and Mayans. But
00:01:50.040 these lizardmen, they are a bit nicer than the actual Aztecs were. So they are good guys in this game.
00:01:56.840 So anyway, we could play with this guy. He has a lot of different faction effects. I'm not gonna go
00:02:04.440 through them. I will have a look at his nemesis then, who should be the brass bull, Taurox.
00:02:14.920 So it's a massive minotaur covered in brass. I can guess that he is a quite high thumos,
00:02:24.280 high testosterone beast. Of course, as I might have mentioned at some previous stage,
00:02:29.480 minotaur is my favorite mythological creature. I went to Crete when I was five or six and we visited
00:02:40.200 the Knossos. So ever since then, I've had a minotaur as my primordial beast totem creature.
00:02:50.840 Something like that, at least. So anyway, he has a lot of different
00:02:54.280 cool effects here. And yeah, I haven't played this yet, so I'm not quite sure how he works.
00:03:04.120 But we have a third individual. Master of the weapon shops, Thoric Ironbrow. So these are
00:03:14.360 quite similar to the dwarves you would see in Lord of the Rings. So Gimli and those lads. The exception
00:03:21.400 here, though, is that these Laddingtons here in Warhammer, they also have access to
00:03:26.920 gunpowder. So they can have a lot of cool gunpowder units. And you see here, he also has a
00:03:35.320 whole host of different special effects. So we're going to get straight into the game with one of
00:03:43.560 these new heroes. And I think I will actually go with Thoric Ironbrow. It's quite hot,
00:03:51.400 here in Sweden. I have taken a full scoop of Varvsbrygd. I'm gonna go out in nature soon,
00:03:59.400 do some calisthenics, some chins and dips, and go for a walk. But before I begin to do so,
00:04:06.280 and before the Varvsbrygd kicks in, I will just have a quick look at these dwarves. So we're gonna 0.86
00:04:15.000 get straight into it. And as you can see, I am an enjoyer here. So I always play on legendary,
00:04:20.760 on the campaign difficulty, and battle difficulty hard. So yeah, suitable climate jungle. And since
00:04:27.720 it feels like a jungle here, where I'm checking in from, I think it's only reasonable. So let's get into it. 0.97
00:04:35.480 Powerful and ancient relics of the ancestors. I like that. I like the sound of it. It stirs something
00:04:47.320 primordial within me. Good times, good times.
00:04:50.600 From one land infested with blasted raki to another, it seems the only difference is the heat. 1.00
00:05:00.200 These vermin best stay out of my way, else they'll meet the mighty steel of my hammer.
00:05:08.280 It seems a local clan has made their home here. Might be they know something about the ancient vaults
00:05:15.640 that lie hidden in these strange mountains. This forsaken continent may be where the purpose of my
00:05:24.040 journey is fulfilled. If the old texts be true, a trove of ancient Dowie artifacts lays buried somewhere
00:05:32.520 near, hidden amidst these strange forgotten ruins of centuries past.
00:05:39.240 This land could hold the key to restoring the proud legacy of our people.
00:05:48.040 In King Cazador's name, I will unearth the lost relics of our ancestors and bring glory to the Dowie once more.
00:05:58.120 That sounds quite good. Quite good indeed. It sounds like something
00:06:09.480 I could have said if we had some ancient relics to unearth here in good old Scandinavia. I would do it
00:06:17.080 to bring honor and glory. So we have Gotri Grimason and I will embed him in this army that we can
00:06:29.000 attack Nostril Daminus. So I suppose that's a reference to the prophet Nostradamus.
00:06:35.960 So yeah, we're going to do it. We're going to see if we can get a nice battle in here.
00:06:49.960 Okay, so this is actually a new feature in the game. Auto-resolve outcome. Battle result. Pyrrhic victory.
00:06:55.320 Casualties medium. But I will actually take the battle manually since it's a let's play video and
00:07:03.400 you can see the nice landscape here as well. I'm getting into the jungle feels. Good times, good times. 1.00
00:07:10.680 So I have some runes and banners here. Adds explosive damage that reduces enemy leadership.
00:07:17.640 Boom. We're going to put it on our grudge thrower. And bonus against large. We're going to put them on
00:07:27.720 these longbeards. And now we're going to fight. 0.55
00:07:35.240 So we are in the battle and I will deploy my my little arm here. So I'm just going to go
00:07:42.840 through our units here first. We have some quarrelers, so crossbowmen. Two units which we'll have to use 0.93
00:07:51.480 in a good manner. So you can see the enemy, they outnumber us quite a bit. So we need to be
00:07:57.080 we need to be intelligent about our unit develop unit deployment. Then we have of course a few units
00:08:05.000 of infantry and a grudge thrower unit. So catapults. And then we have our main guy here,
00:08:15.000 Thoric Ironbrow. And a support specialist, who I suppose again casts magic to bolster our other units.
00:08:26.040 So since we do have a long range unit, we can actually deploy a bit further back here,
00:08:34.520 so we can get off more volleys before they come at us. So yeah, they can get tired coming up to us.
00:08:42.840 And we'll meet them with our units here. So I'm just going to place them here in a nice defensive position.
00:09:00.440 Something like that. And then our quarrelers, they will have a four-hole position and then I will move
00:09:07.640 them back. So now we're ready to start the battle. And as is my custom when making these Total War videos,
00:09:15.480 which I have made since 2014, imagine that I will use a few edits here and there and fast forward a bit
00:09:24.840 like I'm doing now in order to speed things up a bit. So now we can see that our grudge throwers,
00:09:32.440 they have began the bombardment. So we're going to target their most dangerous troops,
00:09:42.360 which I suppose would be the Poisoned Wind Gloubadiers. And it's already doing it,
00:09:50.040 which is nice. Or we could target these guys in case it misses. It might hit the Skaven Slave Slingers 0.99
00:10:00.200 back here. So anyway, good thing that I deployed a bit further back here so we can get a nice few
00:10:07.400 shots off. So you see this bar here, the light brown one, it's the amount of ammunition you have.
00:10:15.160 So still have quite a bit of ammunition and now our quarrelers have begun shooting as well.
00:10:22.600 Good times, good times. And what we could do is try to focus on one enemy unit so that
00:10:29.400 they might break and flee. Hopefully they will break and flee any moment now. You can see their
00:10:40.840 leadership is the grey bar here. But alas, it doesn't quite look like we can do it.
00:10:51.080 Oh well. And now we have to engage all of our melee troops.
00:11:11.000 Still hopefully we can defend the grudge thrower so it can continue to 1.00
00:11:15.160 shoot so it doesn't get engaged in combat.
00:11:36.200 So I'm using some magic here or rune magic on our troops to bolster their armor.
00:11:45.160 And of course these two heroes, Thoric and Gotri, they need to get into combat ASAP.
00:11:58.440 And now as you can see our crossbowmen, they are getting into a nice flanking position here and
00:12:03.880 they can shoot these Skaven Slaves in the back, which is highly optimal. 1.00
00:12:08.760 So now you can see they're wavering the Skaven Slaves. Not the best, not the most formidable enemies, 0.95
00:12:21.640 fortunately for us. So I'm casting the Rune of Speed here.
00:12:28.920 The clans unite and now you can see our nice flanking maneuver here. 0.97
00:12:42.280 Shooting these bustards in the back. Now you can see our grudge throwers, they're still firing away. 1.00
00:12:49.480 So it's important to protect your artillery.
00:12:57.400 And now you can see here, this is the Nostradamus. So he needs to die for attacking their general 0.99
00:13:07.880 with both of our heroes. So you can see he has the jewel here. 0.99
00:13:15.640 Boom, boy, he got mocked there. Good times, good times.
00:13:20.920 And if the enemy general dies, their entire army will hopefully break and flee. It can happen.
00:13:35.000 They will get reduced leadership. And there we have won the battle. Good times, good times.
00:13:41.320 So I will just end here, since we can't really chase any of them down. And the grudge throwers ammunition is
00:13:53.240 almost done. So end battle. A decisive victory for the Dwarves of the Pthoric Iron Brow. Now we have 0.96
00:14:04.760 two options. We can execute and loot, which grants us some oath gold in addition to regular treasury.
00:14:13.880 Or we can drink to victory, which is quite nice. It lasts for two turns and gives us some nice boosts
00:14:23.880 to our province. But we're actually gonna execute and loot because these are Heretical Skaven. 1.00
00:14:30.600 I have no use. Go! 0.96
00:14:38.040 So, there we are. And we have acquired a follower. Follower gained. Student.
00:14:43.080 Glory for Karakazol! 1.00
00:14:46.040 Glory. Good times, good times. I have also gained perhaps a follower right now that is a student. Who
00:14:54.360 knows? Comment below if you're a student. And if you are, you have actually given me 10%
00:15:04.360 plus in research rate for my various research projects. So anyway, that is a look at a new DLC.
00:15:13.480 It looks really good. And of course, as I've said before, this is a great game. And just looking at the
00:15:19.640 map absorbing the vibes, the atmosphere, the ambience of it. Good stuff, good stuff. So anyway,
00:15:29.800 thank you for checking in with me. And I will see you in the next video. XOXO, BOO!
