00:00:00.000 The Tome of Shades.
00:00:27.060 It reveals the secrets of the past, the present, and what may come to be.
00:00:37.060 Most would think me fortunate to own such a book, but I can only use it in service to others.
00:00:46.060 That is my curse.
00:00:50.060 It wakes, tormenting me once more, feeding on the mysteries of this world, unraveling them into opportunity.
00:01:04.060 That opportunity for whom?
00:01:28.060 Greetings, my esteemed Laddingtons.
00:01:34.060 Welcome to a Let's Play of Total War Warhammer 3.
00:01:38.060 Now, we have done Total War Let's Plays on this channel since 2014.
00:01:44.060 Imagine that.
00:01:46.060 Good times, good times.
00:01:48.060 So, I thought to continue this fine tradition of perhaps not a full series of this game, because time is of the essence.
00:01:58.060 And I have some other videos planned, but I thought at least to show the game.
00:02:04.060 And, of course, show you the nice introduction you saw there, and the nice introduction you will see now.
00:02:10.060 So, yeah.
00:02:12.060 Warhammer Total War 2.
00:02:14.060 Absolutely great game.
00:02:16.060 I really enjoyed playing it, and I have made some Let's Plays of it as well, of course, which you might have seen.
00:02:24.060 Now, anyway, we will get straight into it with a new campaign.
00:02:36.060 This world has been sundered by a tide of arcane energy.
00:02:42.060 The winds of magic turned into a maelstrom.
00:02:50.060 The Tome of Fate drew me north to find out why.
00:02:56.060 It guided me to a distant fortress steeped in blood.
00:03:04.060 A battle was fought there.
00:03:06.060 Though long over, the spirits still lingered.
00:03:12.060 In the shadow of a broken portal, the trail ended.
00:03:16.060 It was here the Tome conversed with the dead.
00:03:20.060 They told of Urson, the bear god of Kislev.
00:03:26.060 Lost in darkness.
00:03:28.060 A noble prince ventured to save him.
00:03:32.060 Yet he strayed from the path and was corrupted by chaos.
00:03:36.060 Saviour became executioner.
00:03:40.060 A single shot bound in faith forsaken pierced Urson's heart.
00:03:46.060 And so the bear god roared.
00:03:50.060 Though the bear god roared.
00:03:52.060 The tide that broke the world.
00:03:58.060 Spirits, where lies Urson now?
00:04:02.060 Is he here in the north?
00:04:04.060 Beyond the maelstrom in the realm of chaos and the forge of souls.
00:04:10.060 Is he alive?
00:04:12.060 Wounded and dying in prison in shadow.
00:04:18.060 What shadow?
00:04:20.060 What shadow?
00:04:21.060 The demons?
00:04:22.060 The master of the dark.
00:04:24.060 I knew who shackled the bear.
00:04:30.060 I knew who shackled the bear.
00:04:32.060 Belakor. 1.00
00:04:46.060 Only a fool would challenge Belakor. 1.00
00:04:48.060 And yet, the power of a dying god, there is no greater prize. 1.00
00:04:56.060 A mere drop of Urson's blood would break my curse.
00:05:00.060 Ending my servitude to this accursed book.
00:05:04.060 Free to profit from its secrets.
00:05:08.060 But Urson is locked in the forge of souls, deep in the realm of chaos.
00:05:14.060 And I cannot enter this nightmarish domain.
00:05:18.060 All routes have been sealed by the maelstrom.
00:05:22.060 There must be a way.
00:05:26.060 The tome unveils a spell to summon a portal.
00:05:30.060 One to bypass the maelstrom and create a door into chaos.
00:05:36.060 Knowledge to bargain, for I need an ally.
00:05:40.060 One who is tempted by the power of the god bear.
00:05:44.060 And can withstand the horrors within.
00:05:54.060 Absolutely epic is what that trailer was.
00:05:56.060 Something I always appreciate with these total war games, the cinematics.
00:06:02.060 So, of course, we need to save the bear god from the vicious forces of chaos. 0.98
00:06:10.060 All too easy to be corrupted by chaos.
00:06:12.060 Which is what you see in this modern world of ours.
00:06:16.060 So we have a few different civilizations here.
00:06:18.060 We have Kislev, which is based on good old Russia.
00:06:24.060 Then we have Grand Katai, which is based on good old China.
00:06:30.060 And we have a few different chaos gods.
00:06:34.060 So Khorne is the blood god, stands for sheer aggression and violence. 1.00
00:06:40.060 Then Slaanesh, which if you have been with me for a long time, you have heard me say that the forces of Slaanesh.
00:06:50.060 So that's basically the god of excess and degeneracy.
00:06:54.060 Then Nurgle, of course, I mentioned before as well, the god of sickness and disease. 1.00
00:07:02.060 So when I say that I've been struck down by Nurgle, that's what I mean. 1.00
00:07:08.060 That I have gotten sick.
00:07:10.060 He hasn't struck me down in a good while now.
00:07:14.060 Because I bear the blessing of Apollo and because I garlic max and I take my zinc and vitamin D.
00:07:22.060 So that's how you can withstand the attentions of Nurgle to optimize your immune system. 0.67
00:07:28.060 Then we have Tsench, which is sort of like an evil god of knowledge, a trickster god, a god of scheming. 0.97
00:07:38.060 Now, of course, we won't be playing any of these because we need to fight the demons of chaos, both in Warhammer games and in our own world.
00:07:49.060 Now, of course, the demon that is perhaps most powerful in our age is Slaanesh. 1.00
00:07:56.060 So we can think of things such as Onlyfans and pornography.
00:08:01.060 So that's the influence of Slaanesh.
00:08:05.060 Anyway, we have Ogre Kingdoms. 0.72
00:08:09.060 So they are ogres that roam in great migrations and mog others by rampaging through the lands.
00:08:19.060 Then we have Demons of Chaos.
00:08:21.060 It's another faction which is...
00:08:24.060 They are demons that aren't committed to any of these four main gods.
00:08:30.060 So this could be interesting as well, of course, but I think the only reasonable course of action is to go with Kislev here.
00:08:38.060 So we're gonna choose these guys.
00:08:40.060 So we have Tsarina, Tsarina Katarin.
00:08:44.060 The name is most likely based on the Empress Katarina of Russia.
00:08:50.060 And you can see here some faction effects, some Lord effects.
00:08:54.060 So yeah, we don't need to read through all of this.
00:08:58.060 I'm sure she is a great character to play with.
00:09:02.060 We also have this.
00:09:08.060 Konstaltin the Redeemer.
00:09:10.060 The great Orthodoxy.
00:09:12.060 I think all of my Orthodox Christian friends want me to choose this guy.
00:09:18.060 So as Supreme Patriarch of the Ursunite Faith, Konstaltin is one of the most powerful spiritual leaders in Kislev.
00:09:26.060 Wild and unkempt in appearance.
00:09:28.060 He is a howling, angry firebrand on the battlefield, urging his devoted followers onwards to fight and die in the name of the great bear.
00:09:36.060 Sounds absolutely based.
00:09:38.060 I think we will actually go with this particular guy.
00:09:42.060 So he has minus 40 in diplomatic relations with the Ice Court. 0.69
00:09:48.060 But otherwise, devotion generated 10 from successful patriarch hero actions.
00:09:54.060 Sounds absolutely like something many of you would appreciate.
00:10:01.060 So we will go with this guy.
00:10:05.060 And of course, campaign going with legendary.
00:10:10.060 It's the only way to play if you're a true connoisseur of Total War games.
00:10:16.060 That's what I play in Total War Warhammer 2 at least.
00:10:20.060 To get a good challenge.
00:10:22.060 Then we go with hard in the battles.
00:10:24.060 I don't think the battles themselves are the nicest thing with the game.
00:10:30.060 But the civilizational development and trade and that sort of thing.
00:10:35.060 So anyway, let's get into the campaign.
00:10:38.060 So you can see this fine artwork as well.
00:10:42.060 Inspired by both Russian and Polish hussars.
00:10:47.060 So you see the cavalry there with the wings behind Polish hussars.
00:10:52.060 At the icy grave of Kislev's most glorious leader, I found the one I seek.
00:11:06.060 Kostaltin of Kislev.
00:11:09.060 There is no price he would not pay to save Ersan.
00:11:14.060 And with the death of Tsar Boris Berker, he alone has belief enough to perform this miracle.
00:11:21.060 It is a mercy that you cannot witness Kislev's desolation.
00:11:30.060 The sun has been taken from us.
00:11:33.060 I see it in visions.
00:11:37.060 He bleeds, trapped and alone.
00:11:40.060 Yet instead of worship, the Tsarina dallies with frost magic.
00:11:47.060 A courtly intrigue.
00:11:49.060 Forgive me, my Tsar.
00:11:53.060 But your daughter fails you.
00:11:56.060 Doom comes for Kislev.
00:12:01.060 The shade who follows me shows himself.
00:12:08.060 I know where Ersan dies.
00:12:11.060 And I can take you to him.
00:12:13.060 Lies will not save you, disciple of the dark gods. 0.96
00:12:18.060 Listen to me.
00:12:19.060 My book reveals a path to his deathbed.
00:12:23.060 I will show you the way.
00:12:25.060 For one drop, just one, of Ersan's divine blood.
00:12:29.060 Heresy, sin unbound.
00:12:32.060 It will free me of a chaos-sent curse.
00:12:35.060 It will make me pure.
00:12:37.060 And your faith, your faith will save your god.
00:12:44.060 Bring your book.
00:12:46.060 The motherland endures, whatever the cost.
00:12:51.060 Our goal is to rescue Ersan, the god bearer of Kislev, from the clutches of Velikor. 1.00
00:13:04.060 After fraught bargaining, my price is agreed.
00:13:08.060 And I will do all I can to guide the Kislevites to their lost god. 1.00
00:13:13.060 Mere moments are left to prove your profane book will aid my work and save Ursan, heretic! 1.00
00:13:26.060 Yes!
00:13:27.060 Your grace, if you are to rescue Ersan, you must do so from a place of strength.
00:13:34.060 We do not have time to persuade, so must chastise those hostile to us.
00:13:40.060 Wipe out the Ungol kindreds, and cede their settlements with followers who share the ideals of the Great Orthodoxy. 1.00
00:13:49.060 Further to the east, an even more despicable threat lurks. 0.99
00:13:55.060 The vile ratmen of Hell Pit. 0.99
00:13:58.060 If we are to welcome Ursan back to the motherland, such abominations must be purged. 0.98
00:14:05.060 But not all are enemies this far north.
00:14:09.060 Allies can be found in the proud city of Prague.
00:14:13.060 They have had their fill of heretics and deviants, 1.00
00:14:17.060 so will welcome your sermons and scrutiny by the Orthodoxy.
00:14:22.060 Further south, however, is the Witch's Nest.
00:14:26.060 She claims the capital and defiles the once great palace of her revered father.
00:14:32.060 These towns fall under the Ice Queen's influence, but can be won over, 0.89
00:14:38.060 or trodden underfoot, if they refuse to see the truth.
00:14:43.060 And in the southwest, lie the lands of the Empire.
00:14:48.060 Weaklings who have taken Kislev's protection for granted. 0.99
00:14:53.060 Perhaps it is time to punish the ungrateful, or see if they are willing to be converted. 0.96
00:15:00.060 So, you see, your grace, we have many heretics to slay. 0.99
00:15:06.060 But be ready, for when the time is right, we shall fight our way into the Chaos realm itself.
00:15:13.060 Heathens that stray from the teachings of the great Orthodoxy surround us. 1.00
00:15:23.060 Punish such unbelievers with fire and fury. 1.00
00:15:26.060 All right, we are in the game after yet another epic cinematic. 0.99
00:15:37.060 And we need to purge these heretics from the realm. 0.99
00:15:45.060 So just having a look here at the overall graphics and feel of the game.
00:15:51.060 Really nice, I must say. I really like it.
00:15:55.060 So we have the Empire here.
00:15:57.060 And some wood elves. The Witch's Wood we have here.
00:16:02.060 So just having a look here. Looks good, looks nice.
00:16:06.060 We have a griffon there.
00:16:08.060 We have Eringrad.
00:16:10.060 With the other Kislevites, I suppose. 1.00
00:16:14.060 And then we have Norden here.
00:16:16.060 Nice name for a city.
00:16:19.060 And yeah.
00:16:21.060 Good stuff, good stuff.
00:16:23.060 And then we have...
00:16:27.060 What is Scandinavia, I suppose.
00:16:30.060 Up here.
00:16:31.060 So some Chaos Marauders. 0.97
00:16:36.060 Anyway, since this is...
00:16:38.060 I need to illuminate these heretics.
00:16:50.060 So had it been a bit more even, the odds I would have played it out manually.
00:17:00.060 But now, since we outnumbered them quite a bit, I will just auto-resolve here.
00:17:06.060 And then we have...
00:17:09.060 A few different options.
00:17:11.060 We can...
00:17:12.060 Pardon Captives.
00:17:13.060 Or we can...
00:17:16.060 Zaliac Provides.
00:17:19.060 We can reinvigorate our forces here.
00:17:22.060 A potent ally has joined your ranks.
00:17:27.060 Embed them in your army. 0.96
00:17:32.060 We have gotten our...
00:17:35.060 Some sort of hero here.
00:17:37.060 We can embed...
00:17:40.060 Embed in our army.
00:17:41.060 Unwavering duty.
00:17:43.060 And then I suppose we can go on to conquer these...
00:17:46.060 Settlements here in Troll Country.
00:17:48.060 Your victory will bolster the hearts of believers across Kislev.
00:17:53.060 Followers of the Ursunite cult shall flock to the church's cause if you summon them. 0.99
00:17:59.060 We all deserve that.
00:18:00.060 Good stuff.
00:18:01.060 Good stuff.
00:18:02.060 And here we have a...
00:18:04.060 A shrine of Ursun.
00:18:08.060 Quite aesthetic.
00:18:10.060 Quite aesthetic indeed.
00:18:12.060 Now, anyway.
00:18:13.060 I just wanted to show you this fine game.
00:18:17.060 And...
00:18:18.060 Yeah, as I said.
00:18:19.060 Looks good.
00:18:20.060 Looks good.
00:18:21.060 I will probably...
00:18:23.060 Take a little moment...
00:18:25.060 In the coming time to...
00:18:28.060 Play a bit.
00:18:29.060 Yeah, as I said.
00:18:30.060 I have quite a few other videos I...
00:18:33.060 I want to make.
00:18:35.060 So, this will...
00:18:36.060 Be it for...
00:18:37.060 This fine game.
00:18:38.060 Maybe later on...
00:18:39.060 I will...
00:18:40.060 Show you some more of it.
00:18:41.060 Who knows?
00:18:42.060 Who knows?
00:18:43.060 Anyway.
00:18:44.060 Thank you for watching and...
00:18:45.060 I wish you all a great day ahead.
00:18:47.060 XOXO.
00:18:48.060 Boom.
