Summary

Why are the World Health Organization, some U.S. public health officials, and of course, radical Democrat politicians running around like their hair is on fire, screaming, Omicron, omicron. What is that, you ask? Well, don t be embarrassed to ask, even though the national leftist media acts like you and I and every American should know that. That's a three-syllable word, and it sounds like a guy who played for the Detroit Lions.

00:00:00.000 Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Great America Podcast with Lou Dobbs,
00:00:04.200 always in the fight for truth, justice, and yes, our American way of life.
00:00:09.220 And now, here he is, the Peabody award-winning voice of truth, the great Lou Dobbs.
00:00:14.520 Hello, everybody. It's wonderful to have you with us on the Great America Show.
00:00:19.680 Today, we'll be asking some very important questions that no one in the Biden administration
00:00:24.340 is answering. No one anywhere seems to be answering these questions. No one that is,
00:00:29.820 except for one poor, lonely doctor in South Africa. We'll get to her a little later.
00:00:36.140 You'll find her fascinating. So let's talk first about the questions that our public health
00:00:41.420 bureaucrats aren't answering. Let's ask ourselves today, why are the World Health Organization,
00:00:48.880 some U.S. public health officials, and of course, radical Democrat politicians running around like
00:00:54.540 their hair is on fire, screaming, Omicron, Omicron, Omicron. What is Omicron, you ask? Well, don't be
00:01:03.020 embarrassed to ask, even though the national leftist media acts like you and I and every American should
00:01:09.100 know that Omicron is the 15th letter in the Greek alphabet. And everyone who works at NPR knows the
00:01:16.960 entire Greek alphabet, of course. Want to have a little fun with a smart-alecky NPR, folks? Quick,
00:01:23.980 NPR. Name the 15th letter of the English alphabet. Gotcha. It's O, dummies. O. Take that. A blow for
00:01:35.420 patriots everywhere. But wait a minute. Let's examine this 15th letter of the Greek alphabet,
00:01:42.000 Omicron. You can't fool us. That's not a letter. That's a three-syllable word, Omicron. And it sounds
00:01:50.440 like a guy who played wide receiver for the Detroit Lions. Wait, that was Megatron. So why is the World
00:01:58.420 Health Organization using the Greek alphabet to label variants of the China virus? They say to make
00:02:04.960 it easier for all the world to understand. Got that? China virus, Greek alphabet. Makes sense, doesn't it?
00:02:13.920 Greek isn't an international language like English or Arabic. There are only 13.5 million people who
00:02:20.420 speak Greek in two Greek-speaking countries, Greece and Cyprus. So the WHO picks Greek for better
00:02:29.800 understanding. When there are just under 8 billion people living on this planet, and most of us speak
00:02:37.260 what language? The answer is English. So it makes what kind of sense that the WHO would choose Greek
00:02:46.000 to make themselves better understood around the world? And the WHO calls the China virus COVID-19
00:02:54.380 because they don't want to stigmatize China. But we'll name all the variants of the China virus
00:03:01.500 with the letters of the Greek alphabet. Talk about tortured political correctness. And then the World
00:03:09.460 Health Organization skipped two letters in the Greek alphabet, new. That's N-U because it sounds too much
00:03:16.580 like an English word, new, N-E-W. Unbelievable. And then they skipped Xi, X-I, because it's a common surname,
00:03:27.540 they say. The fact is they skipped Xi because it's a very common surname for absolute dictator of the
00:03:36.160 world's largest communist totalitarian country, known commonly as China. Or perhaps the WHO acted
00:03:44.660 misogynistically, choosing to skip Xi, ignoring the only feminine pronoun in the English language.
00:03:52.980 And I should point out to those wondering where the word alphabet originated, it is the combination
00:03:58.680 of two words, alpha and beta, the first two letters of the Greek alphabet, of which we now know there are
00:04:07.040 24 letters or words in all. Remember that South African doctor I mentioned at the top of the show
00:04:15.360 who actually knows quite a bit about the China virus, COVID-19 virus, if you will, variant. That variant
00:04:23.380 is now known as Omicron. She's the doctor who actually has answered questions while the rest of the world's
00:04:29.880 public health officials seem determined to scare the public, even though they know almost nothing about
00:04:35.960 the Omicron variant. The doctor is Angelique Coetzee. She's the chair of the South African Medical
00:04:44.180 Association. She's personally treated patients infected with Omicron, and she describes her patients
00:04:51.340 this way. She says none of her patients, most in their 40s, and about half of them vaccinated,
00:04:58.820 have required hospitalization. None of them. And Dr. Coetzee says their symptoms are very,
00:05:05.760 very mild. I'll repeat, very, very mild. Quite a contrast to the melodramatic and unprofessional
00:05:14.340 alarms being raised by Dr. Fauci, who is obviously now overwrought with the burdens of ego and partisan
00:05:23.780 celebrity. Joining us today on the Great America show is a great American, one of America's most popular
00:05:32.100 broadcasters. He's watched and listened to by tens of millions of Americans each day on radio, television,
00:05:40.480 his website, his podcast, and on social media. Listen to him on 710 WOR Radio in New York, nationally on
00:05:50.180 iHeart Radio, and here with us today, our good friend, Mark Simone. Mark, let me begin with the
00:05:58.060 extraordinary catalog of failures that now make up the Biden administration in less than a year
00:06:04.440 in office. Your thoughts?
00:06:07.520 How long is this show? I don't know if we have enough time.
00:06:10.200 We'll make time for you. Guaranteed.
00:06:13.360 It's going to be like a telethon. Well, first of all,
00:06:16.900 Joe Biden will be, this will be taught in business schools for decades. He is the worst
00:06:22.960 personnel director in the history of the world. You know, whenever you have a bad president,
00:06:27.840 like a Jimmy Carter, you look at that cabinet, and there were some very prestigious names and some
00:06:32.600 old Washington hands that were pretty good. But you look at this administration, everybody in the
00:06:38.100 cabinet is a total incompetent. This Jennifer Granholm asked about high energy, but just giggling,
00:06:44.020 laughing. Kamala Harris, I think we, I don't even need to explain that that's how bad she is.
00:06:48.620 Worst vice president ever. This Buttigieg is making a photo op, a little promotional video
00:06:55.120 of him visiting a store while the whole supply chain is clogged up. If it were you, if it were
00:07:00.120 Donald Trump, you'd be in California on the dock right now, screaming at everybody, getting this
00:07:04.440 unclogged. He's not doing a thing. I think we can agree to Lloyd Austin. Waging a war is a major
00:07:11.520 task, but just leaving, just moving out, that's a pretty simple one. Just pick up the weapons and go.
00:07:17.380 He bungled that up. Even the supply chain, this is not like landing on the moon. It's just taking
00:07:23.920 crates off a ship. How hard is this to figure out? You know, it looks pretty bad. We couldn't win a
00:07:28.760 war for 21 years and, uh, in Afghanistan, and then we couldn't even win the retreat and surrender.
00:07:35.880 Uh, I mean, that that's pretty bad, isn't it? Well, I could see the difficulty of asymmetrical
00:07:42.160 warfare in Afghanistan and how difficult it was to fight the Taliban. But, uh, so maybe give those
00:07:48.660 generals a little leeway, but you couldn't figure out how to leave. And I'm not a, I'm not a war
00:07:53.260 expert. I'm not a general, but the first thing I'm thinking, I would have the civilians leave first,
00:07:58.180 then the military. I wouldn't have the military leave and then figure out how to rescue these
00:08:02.280 civilians. Uh, and then it turns out we left quite a bit of our military there as well. And, uh, and it
00:08:10.600 just goes on from there. And, and there's greater irony here. It seems too, in that, uh, the geniuses
00:08:17.280 in particular, general David Petraeus who wrote the long war doctrine that, uh, so many of our military
00:08:23.940 who couldn't win that war in 21 years, uh, followed, you know, so you've got the long war,
00:08:30.480 uh, and then the new doctrine is for surrender. It's a quick surrender. Uh, just get out before
00:08:35.660 anybody realizes who won. Apparently it was the view. Uh, it's awful. And this administration has
00:08:43.020 a 38%, 36% of the most recent Quinnipiac poll, uh, approval rating. I mean, this president is a
00:08:52.820 disaster and his, his vice president, uh, a bigger disaster. So they're not leaving us, uh, much, uh,
00:09:01.200 here to, to applaud, are they? Well, Joe Biden will get credit for one thing. You know, Obama,
00:09:07.040 it was steady. He didn't want anybody to overshadow him. He didn't, he wanted a really bad vice
00:09:11.200 president. So he picked Biden knowing that's insurance against any type of impeachment. Now,
00:09:16.180 when Biden takes over, he wants to do the same thing. How does he find somebody worse than him?
00:09:20.240 That is a real challenge. And he came through, he found somebody even more competent than him.
00:09:26.580 So I think, I think the country, I think the country may mark be even more afraid, uh, of Kamala
00:09:34.340 Harris than they were Joe Biden. But with, with, with the package, the Biden Harris package,
00:09:40.420 uh, it's a truly troubling moment in history, isn't it? Yeah. And so the scariest part of this,
00:09:46.440 I always assumed from the beginning, somebody was secretly running this, that Biden was the
00:09:51.140 puppet. Maybe Obama was the puppet master, maybe some George Soros type, somebody, or maybe a
00:09:56.480 committee of these George Soros types. Now we're starting to realize there's nobody running this.
00:10:01.440 There's no mastermind of any kind. Uh, there's nobody that knows what they're doing. So you'd have
00:10:06.400 to figure out first how to get rid of Kamala Harris. Uh, I don't know what you could offer her to step
00:10:11.680 down. Uh, the only time I remember this was Spiro Agnew, but he got caught in a crime,
00:10:15.980 easy to get him out. They're going to have to get Kamala Harris out and put somebody competent in
00:10:19.920 there. I know Democrats are in total fear of going into 2024 with Kamala Harris as their candidate. So,
00:10:26.120 um, and again, the weak bench, the totally incompetent cabinet, there's no obvious replacement.
00:10:31.760 So I don't know what you would do here.
00:10:33.540 And now we have with us a new variant of the COVID-19 virus. Uh, and I swear they've come up
00:10:45.480 with a name Omicron, uh, the 15th letter in the alphabet to describe this variant. And they don't
00:10:54.100 know anything about it, but already the governor of New York has declared an emergency for a variant
00:10:59.560 that we don't even know what will be the effect of vaccines, uh, or whether it'll be even necessary.
00:11:07.500 Yeah. You know, Democrats always go too far, get too nuts at this time. It's unbelievable. You know,
00:11:12.760 everywhere I'm in New York city right now, everybody's terrified to take the subway. You'll
00:11:15.700 get stabbed, pushed, shot, you get robbed. You get, and she's declared an emergency over a virus
00:11:20.060 that might be here in 10 weeks. Uh, I mean, where was the emergency over this crime wave where we had
00:11:25.560 riots all over New York and, you know, we have no media operating in this country right now,
00:11:30.020 except for you. We have no media. We've had more virus deaths this year under Biden than we had
00:11:35.480 under Trump. And that's with the vaccine. So when Joe Biden told us way back when I have a plan,
00:11:41.660 I haven't seen it yet. Have you? Yeah, no, I, I really have not. Uh, and, you know, but I have
00:11:48.960 seen Biden on display, uh, you know, last year, uh, he went after, uh, uh, president Trump in 2020
00:11:57.520 for the travel ban saying that, uh, you know, it was racist and xenophobic. Uh, he declares the same
00:12:03.360 thing, shutting down South Africa and six other nations to inbound, uh, us, uh, traffic. Uh, and it's,
00:12:11.100 it's just being reasonable and following the science. I mean, the man is, there just is no word to
00:12:17.500 describe the level of hypocrisy that he rises to, uh, at the drop of a hat. Yeah. Again,
00:12:25.540 taking crates off a ship. That's pretty simple. Leaving Afghanistan, pretty simple. And look at
00:12:30.600 this problem. He decides he'll shut down some borders 7,000 miles away in some little countries
00:12:36.040 while leaving our entire Southern border wide open. What is the logic of that? That's like closing
00:12:42.500 the upstairs window and leaving all the doors open. It makes absolutely no sense at all.
00:12:47.500 Absolutely. And, and to think that they estimate a number of illegal immigrants by the time the
00:12:54.220 president has been in office for his first year, uh, of his term, uh, it will be 2 million illegal
00:13:01.560 immigrants who will not have been, uh, tested, uh, for the virus or any other disease. They will not
00:13:09.100 have, uh, any vetting, but they will be, and are being welcomed into our country and shipped off,
00:13:16.140 uh, to the, uh, uh, uh, inner America, uh, in the dead of night flown everywhere. It's it. You just
00:13:24.160 can't make it up. Well, you know, you're the media expert. I don't know where this all goes to not
00:13:30.900 have, this is how you kill a democracy, not have a real working media. These secret flights are
00:13:36.200 dropping off, uh, immigrants at Westchester County airport here near, near New York and airports all
00:13:41.220 around the country. That airport is closed from midnight to six. So these flights are landing at
00:13:45.460 3am and a closed airport landing. Where's the media? Can you imagine if Donald Trump drove one
00:13:51.360 person in a car? Uh, it would be front page news for weeks. This is thousands and thousands by plane
00:13:56.540 and no coverage. How do we survive this? Yeah, I, I really don't know the answer to that,
00:14:01.880 but, uh, but I do thank you for making me an expert on the media. Uh, I, I, I, I seem to have
00:14:08.400 just conformed to, you know, the usual status of most, most experts. I don't know enough.
00:14:14.100 You've started networks. You worked with Ted Turner. Can you imagine if you said to Ted Turner,
00:14:17.780 let's not cover half the news. In fact, if, uh, this guy gets an office, let's not cover or anything.
00:14:22.000 What would he have said? Yeah. It's really quite a different era because in those days we were scrambling
00:14:28.020 to cover everything that happened, uh, no matter sometimes, uh, how pedestrian, uh, it, it, it got
00:14:35.420 our attention because we had 24 hours for the first time in history to, uh, you know, to cover, uh, the
00:14:42.340 news. Uh, and it was a beast that had a, it took a lot of feeding, uh, uh, uh, these days, it doesn't
00:14:48.380 seem to matter, uh, to the, to the New York times or the Washington post that so much escapes their
00:14:55.820 attention. But one of the things that's escaping their attention right now is the Omicron virus,
00:15:01.660 as it's called. And no one knows anything about this. And already you've got Dr. Fauci, uh, Lord
00:15:10.120 Fauci, uh, out on the Sunday talk show host saying that we'll do whatever it takes to stop this
00:15:16.180 variant. Meanwhile, we are hearing from South Africa that the symptoms so far have been very,
00:15:23.300 very mild and that the principal symptom is, uh, uh, fatigue, extreme fatigue for two days.
00:15:30.820 This does not sound like the stuff, uh, for which, uh, you know, Lord Fauci should have his hair on
00:15:36.740 fire. Uh, no, but, uh, any excuse to get on television, we've never seen anything like this.
00:15:42.860 He's, uh, uh, you know, he calls all the anchors. I know he talks to Lester Holt. He calls these people
00:15:49.560 and George Stephanopoulos, he butters them up all day. And that's why they call him the nation's
00:15:54.140 leading infectious disease expert, which he hardly is. If you went to Weill Cornell or Johns Hopkins,
00:16:00.020 or that's where you're going to find our best infectious disease experts, not this, uh, this
00:16:04.960 guy, this government bureaucrat, he's been there 40, 50 years. He is basically J Edgar Hoover with a
00:16:09.900 stethoscope. That's all he is. That's a well said that is well said. Uh, and, uh, you're not suggesting
00:16:17.480 that he has files on all those people that, that you mentioned, are you? Uh, I I'm suggesting that
00:16:23.620 he just, he does the opposite of Hoover. He just butters up these people and Pete Buttigieg looks at
00:16:29.400 him and says, I could do that too. I could just spend all day trying to get on every talk show I
00:16:33.320 can get on and not do any work outside of that. Well, and I love the fact that the man has two
00:16:38.760 answers for every question. Uh, and I don't know if any of them are correct, but he's always got,
00:16:44.380 uh, contradictory answers to, uh, to provide. And I, I don't know why no one holds him to account.
00:16:51.860 He was against, uh, international travel bans. Then he was for it. He was against masks. Then he
00:16:58.020 was for it. And now he won't let you take your mask off. Uh, and really would like everyone to,
00:17:03.880 you know, I, he's just short of, uh, wanting everyone to have a file at the FBI. Uh, who knows,
00:17:10.760 maybe we do. Uh, the FBI is going in strange directions as well. Uh, and the, and the holiday
00:17:17.420 is going in strange directions as well, Mark, the salvation army, not all now only, they not only
00:17:25.000 want your money, uh, and to make a generous donation, but they're also asking white people
00:17:31.300 to apologize for being white. Have you, I mean, you can't, the saying is you can't make it up,
00:17:38.960 but please tell me somebody just made this up. Well, this is a very sorry story because if you
00:17:45.300 look, uh, you know, all, we all want to donate clothes or donate money or there was no finer
00:17:49.880 charity for years than the salvation army, as far as where the money went in the most awful spots in
00:17:54.600 the world. They were the first in last out. I love the salvation army. I've raised a lot of money for,
00:17:59.080 I am stunned, stunned at this. They're the last people I would expect to get involved in this.
00:18:05.820 I could see a major corporation that were worried about sales or boycotts or, but they don't have
00:18:10.440 to, I don't know what the reason was for this. And, and to, there's nothing more racist than
00:18:15.440 attacking a whole race. And these companies, this, uh, going after white people, this is a rejection of
00:18:22.980 everything Martin Luther King fought for, which was don't judge anybody by the color of their skin,
00:18:28.740 just go by their character. And I would imagine people that are donating and working
00:18:33.600 for the salvation army to raise money or give donate. I, I would assume they're people of very
00:18:39.020 fine character. Why would you call them racist? And again, where's the media on this? It's their
00:18:44.020 fault. Yeah. Well, the media is as usual, uh, behind much of the, uh, the atrocity that, uh,
00:18:52.380 was once journalism, uh, and we should point out the salvation army as zero hedge put it,
00:18:59.580 uh, Tyler Durden wrote that, uh, salvation unwrung that bill, uh, no longer, uh, apparently willing to
00:19:07.400 stand up to the backlash they face, uh, and demand that white people apologize for their racism.
00:19:14.400 Uh, we have reached a point where the salvation army is destroying, uh, that charity that has been
00:19:21.860 around here for centuries and, and, and to think what they've just done to people who need it,
00:19:27.500 because there will be people so angry with the salvation army that they will never give them a
00:19:32.380 dime. Uh, there won't be much ringing of bells, uh, is my guess, uh, this Christmas, uh, because of the
00:19:39.900 salvation armies, uh, arrogance, uh, and it's just utter racist nonsense. I mean, it's racist what
00:19:48.820 they did, as you said. Yeah. And this to me was the greatest violation, Joe Biden, uh, of his mandate.
00:19:55.700 You know, he always talks about this mandate, what got him elected. If you go back and watch that
00:19:59.480 campaign, he kept promising to heal us, to not be a divider, to bring us together. As soon as he's
00:20:05.640 elected, everybody's a white supremacist. If you, I haven't heard that word white supremacist in
00:20:10.360 decades, uh, there was one media organization, you know, they decided let's interview some white
00:20:15.980 supremacists. They couldn't find any, they didn't know where to look. How would you find one? If
00:20:20.900 you, you know, the police commissioner of New York was on a show to talk about these attacks on Asians
00:20:25.480 and the host said, are these white supremacists? And he was very thoughtful. He said, let me, I'm going
00:20:30.420 to look into this. I'll report back to you tomorrow. And he sent them his report. He said,
00:20:33.780 none of the attackers were even white. And he said, our department has not encountered a white
00:20:39.340 supremacist in years. We don't know of any. So, uh, let me ask you a serious question. Have you
00:20:46.440 ever met a white supremacist? No, I would. If you said, let's interview one, I would know how to find
00:20:53.660 one. I assume that somewhere in some mountains, somewhere with a couple of white supremacists,
00:20:59.180 I guess if you went into some prison somewhere, there might be a group calling themselves outside of
00:21:03.240 that. Uh, there are no white supremacists. I have something of a, I've never met one. And, uh,
00:21:11.460 and I, in my, to my knowledge, I've never even been in, and I've covered prisons. I've covered the
00:21:17.880 border. Uh, to my knowledge, I have never, uh, even heard about such a group. Uh, at least, you know,
00:21:26.400 I'm talking about in the real world. Uh, we hear from the Southern poverty law center all the time about
00:21:31.700 the supremacist, uh, white supremacist group. Uh, but they usually have a, uh, whatever group
00:21:38.700 they're talking about usually has a membership of something like a dozen, uh, which is usually in
00:21:44.300 a prison, as you say, or somewhere, I don't know. It's just madness. And to see it gobbled up and,
00:21:50.320 and loved, lapped up by the national left-wing media is just ridiculous, which is, you know,
00:21:57.900 the media itself is becoming more ridiculous by the day. They don't cover important things like
00:22:03.760 how dangerous is the Omicron virus and why aren't we getting some sort of information about it,
00:22:10.680 uh, that is scientific. And why do we have officials like Fauci walking, uh, walking into a studio and
00:22:18.320 declaring himself to be science? He is the personification of science says he, as I said,
00:22:24.620 he's, he's been wrong 50% of the time that he says something and you never know which 50% he's on.
00:22:32.300 It's, it's just, uh, uh, amazing what the media is doing and what they're permitting and what
00:22:37.920 they're fostering. Uh, it's, it's just on to me, inexplicable. Yeah. This, uh, racism, white
00:22:44.960 supremacist, this all goes back to one thing. The Democrats, they vote charts and graphs of what they
00:22:49.800 have to win to win a presidency. And it's a certain percentage of the black vote, something like
00:22:54.200 89% or they can't win. And Donald Trump's scared the hell out of them. Cause he did very well in
00:23:00.240 African-American voters really well enough to change the whole result of the election. So that's
00:23:05.820 why they had to target this group to get them back. And they always pander, but in this case,
00:23:11.720 they just went crazy with the racism and the white supremacy. I found this great video. It's Malcolm X,
00:23:17.000 the great civil rights leader from the 1960s. And he warned African-Americans don't fall for Democrats.
00:23:24.200 A pandering. They'll tell you everything you want to hear. They don't mean it. They won't deliver.
00:23:28.500 Don't be fooled by Democrats. It's all just talk with them. Yeah. Well, I wish that I wish that they
00:23:36.700 were more just talk. Now they are, it seems engaged in, uh, destroying this, this great country's values,
00:23:44.860 turning us over to, to the enthusiastic, uh, Marxists who hate the country, but would love to run it,
00:23:52.860 you know, figure that one out. Uh, they think the rest of us should just go along with, uh, uh,
00:23:58.980 with everything. Now I want to turn to just where we're headed with the, the election of 2022,
00:24:06.320 uh, and, uh, uh, president Trump, who seems to have a dominant, uh, first position and influence over the
00:24:14.320 Republican party. The reality is this is still the party of Trump. Is it not the GOP?
00:24:22.180 Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. You know, uh, the other name here is Rhonda Santis, but, uh, really it was
00:24:27.940 Donald Trump to kind of put him on the map. Uh, but, uh, what we're seeing now is total incompetence.
00:24:34.680 Can't, can't even unload ships, can't even pull the weapons out of when they leave in Afghanistan.
00:24:39.000 And then we compare that to Donald Trump who, whatever you liked or didn't like, he was a hell
00:24:43.220 of a manager. He was an efficiency expert. Uh, you know, when you build a hundred story skyscrapers
00:24:48.700 left and right, you got to know how to run your supply chain. Cause that's what it basically is
00:24:52.920 getting a million bricks delivered, 10,000 windows delivered. He was amazing. If, if he were president
00:24:59.640 now, he'd be on the dock in California with all the union leaders, all the truckers screaming
00:25:04.580 and everybody, he wouldn't leave until it was settled. So the contrast is going to be
00:25:10.280 unbelievable. And when people are paying, uh, $7 a gallon by 2024, and, uh, you, you can't
00:25:16.700 go anywhere because of the crime and you're watching, uh, robbers, you know, they used to
00:25:20.560 loot, they'd break the appliance store window and take a TV. Now they show up with 20 cars
00:25:25.100 and completely ransack an entire Neiman Marcus. This, I think this crime wave is the one that'll
00:25:30.240 do in Democrats in 2024. Yeah. It's, it's, it's going to be interesting. And the Republicans
00:25:36.360 are already starting to, uh, you know, talk big in some cases, talk tough. I sort of dismissed
00:25:42.740 their tough talk because they've done that before, but there's starting to talk rather
00:25:47.660 energetically, uh, about gaining control of the house of representatives and talk about early
00:25:55.480 days. It certainly is, but there apparently have won, uh, they've apparently won a number
00:26:00.480 of, uh, uh, redistricting contests, uh, have managed to, uh, improve their, uh, their odds,
00:26:07.780 uh, for 2022 and in taking the house, your thoughts. Oh, I think it's going to be the biggest
00:26:15.220 slaughter we've ever seen. You know, it's always the case where, uh, the Democrat takes every,
00:26:19.160 they take everything. And then in the midterm, uh, they lose the house and Senate happened with
00:26:23.340 Obama happened with Clinton, but this is going to be different. This is going to be, uh, 50,
00:26:27.860 60, 75 seats swing in the house and dozens of seats in the Senate. I think, uh, uh, and this
00:26:34.560 is what happened after Cardi. You remember you had Reagan and Bush, you had 12 years. I think
00:26:38.340 you're going to see the same thing. I think you can see a backlash that could last multiple terms
00:26:42.960 in the white house and Congress. And, uh, president Trump himself, will he run? Uh, what do you think?
00:26:50.740 Uh, absolutely. Absolutely. You know, the best thing was to take over after Jimmy Carter. The
00:26:57.240 numbers were so low. Uh, how could he resist the, everything will be just a shambles, uh,
00:27:03.840 Joe Biden's poll numbers. Uh, of course he'll run. It'll be so easy then, you know, if you look at
00:27:09.300 Carter, he was not bad for the first or second. It was like the third year. It started to catch up
00:27:13.280 with him. Joe Biden. I've never seen anything like this. Even our horrible mayor in New York,
00:27:17.560 Bill de Blasio wasn't until the third or fourth year. It started to look bad. This guy in the
00:27:21.420 first few months, it was a disaster. You look at all the wreckage. We're only eight, nine months
00:27:27.100 into this thing here. You imagine in two years. Yeah, I, I, I can't imagine. I, I, I really,
00:27:34.840 uh, no, I talked to him just, uh, you know, a week or so ago. Uh, and, and he said, he sounds
00:27:42.920 great by the way, he's, he's, but he's, he wouldn't give me the inside scoop. He wouldn't
00:27:48.540 declare even to me quietly just between, well, you know, the two of us, uh, which I thought was
00:27:55.700 rather selfish of him. Well, he was, I promise I wouldn't have, I wouldn't tell anybody on this
00:28:01.240 podcast. Uh, no, but he was saying it for a while. And then I, from what I understand a few
00:28:07.900 months ago, it was explained to him. He can't say that anymore. Otherwise all kinds of, uh,
00:28:12.220 financial requirements and filings and things kick in, uh, outside of that, I think he would
00:28:17.260 be saying it. Yeah, I, I, I, I'm just kidding. I would never, uh, first of all, I would never ask.
00:28:23.500 Uh, and I know that he can't tell because the federal elections commission would be all over him
00:28:27.940 and lots of unpleasant things would happen in terms of fundraising. It would kick in, but, uh,
00:28:33.720 but it is, I would like to see a signal that sort of pushed me one way or the other. And, and I,
00:28:40.000 and it's, I, I think he definitely wants to, but I think he recognizes that a lot of things have to
00:28:45.420 fall into place, uh, going into that. Uh, I do know this, if any man ever deserved to be president
00:28:52.100 of the United States, it is him, uh, because of what he has done, the punishment that he's received
00:28:59.120 at the hands of the Democrats, the political persecution he's still going through.
00:29:03.720 Unbelievably without comment from the establishment Republicans, uh, by the Democrats, uh, by the
00:29:10.180 Marxist left, by the national, uh, liberal media. I mean, they continue to hound this man after two
00:29:17.560 impeachment efforts, uh, putting him on baselessly under investigation out of design by Hillary Clinton
00:29:24.840 for crying out loud, the, the Russia hoax, uh, all of the nonsense that he went through. Uh,
00:29:31.760 I think the man would probably be elected by acclimation almost, uh, if he were to decide
00:29:38.880 to run in 2024. Oh, absolutely. You know, he's like a football coach who's 16 and 0. And the owner
00:29:45.680 says, yeah, I don't like his tweets. I don't like his attitude. Yeah. Nobody would say that. Uh,
00:29:51.500 exactly. And I think the other problem, you know, for a million years, I've always heard everybody
00:29:57.580 say, well, if only we get all the talent in the private sector, they talked about Lee Iacocca running
00:30:01.880 or Jack Welch would run. They used to talk about you running and just get some great, uh, person from
00:30:07.240 the private sector. That was always thought that that would be a better way to do things. Well, it
00:30:11.160 finally happened. And we saw what the swamp and the deep state did to make sure nobody from the private
00:30:16.380 sector ever tries this again, but who could go through that? Yeah. It, uh, the, uh, the sugar
00:30:22.900 train stops in a hurry for the establishment, uh, for the leadership of both parties, uh, and of course
00:30:29.180 for corporate America, wall street, and all of the hangers on, uh, down the line. Uh, it's, we've just,
00:30:36.220 we've had a great history lesson. Uh, the problem is there was so much pain attached to a, uh, a man
00:30:42.220 who deserved, uh, you know, our, uh, accolades, uh, instead of persecution at the hands of the opposing
00:30:49.240 party and the deep state. Mark Simone, it is great to have you with us, uh, as is our custom. You always
00:30:56.300 get the last word on the great America show. Uh, Mark, I love this podcast. I listened to it all the
00:31:04.240 time. This is probably the only one I won't listen to because I'm on it, but otherwise this is one of
00:31:08.120 my top podcasts, must listening all the time. Well, you're very kind and generous as always.
00:31:14.600 Mark Simone, uh, one of the greatest radio personalities in American broadcasting history,
00:31:21.800 I must say. Wow. And as always a great American and a great friend, Mark, thanks so much.
00:31:29.020 Thanks for having me. We're coming right back with more of the great America show
00:31:34.040 stay with us. No nation has ever done more than America for its citizens. And for the entire
00:31:41.360 world, we're proudly Americans and for the dark forces of totalitarianism that are all around the
00:31:48.580 world. We're a huge problem because no other economic system, no other nation has ever created
00:31:55.060 the prosperity, the opportunity, and the security for its people as has America. We are the most powerful
00:32:02.340 nation on earth, and we are the most generous, but that doesn't matter to our enemies. And what has
00:32:09.360 become a raging cold war were the world's two largest and most powerful totalitarian governments
00:32:15.500 that is communist China and Putin's Russia. It was no accident that she and Putin have just announced
00:32:22.760 closer military ties and a deeper strategic agreement between the two totalitarian States.
00:32:29.720 Xi Jinping threatening President Biden directly, declaring that including Taiwan and the
00:32:35.980 president's upcoming online democracy summit was provocative. The CCP demands the United States
00:32:43.220 stop providing a platform to Taiwan's independent forces and threatened the United States with these
00:32:49.160 words. Those who play with fire get burned. In my opinion, it's time for Biden to tell China
00:32:56.020 they're the ones playing with fire. And if Biden could muster the will and the time, he might say
00:33:02.320 the same thing to Putin, who's building up tens of thousands of troops on the Russian Western border,
00:33:08.420 moving in heavy military equipment, moving in tanks. And the best the NATO secretary general could do in
00:33:15.020 response was to warn Moscow that if they invade Ukraine, the invasion would be costly. Now, there's a
00:33:23.480 fearsome word. You can imagine Putin quivering in his boots at the word costly. Not much of a warning,
00:33:30.820 is it? Well, meanwhile, the president and first lady spent the Thanksgiving holiday on the estate of
00:33:36.560 billionaire David Rubenstein on Nantucket Island. That, as we receive word from the World Health
00:33:42.800 Organization that there is a new and potentially deadlier China virus that's mutated at an alarming rate.
00:33:50.080 And some virologists fear it could be highly transmissible and that there may be no available
00:33:57.180 vaccine against it. I'm not trying to be an alarmist when I repeat what the World Health
00:34:02.820 Organization is saying. And yes, they are trying very hard to instill fear in the West and doing so
00:34:09.780 with almost no solid evidence or research about the new virus. My point is we should be deeply skeptical
00:34:16.680 about what we're being told about almost everything and certainly anything that emanates from the World
00:34:22.320 Health Organization and watch closely as we on the Great America Show watch very closely everything
00:34:29.220 that the Biden administration does and does not do and what the CDC does and does not do. Well,
00:34:36.540 a member of this government now is Congressman Burgess Owens. He's a former NFL star,
00:34:41.500 All-Pro and Super Bowl champion. He sits on the Committee for Education and Labor, the Judiciary
00:34:47.280 Committee. He's the ranking member on the National Republican Congressional Committee.
00:34:52.180 Congressman, first, I just want to say thank you for being elected. The people of Utah have done the
00:34:59.660 nation a great service and it's a delight to have you with us here on the Great American Show.
00:35:05.020 Thank you so much, Lou. And once again, remarkable summary, my friend, of what we're up against.
00:35:09.560 And let me just kind of, as we get started, this has been an honor to say the least to represent this
00:35:14.600 great state of Utah. But what I've come to understand is that there's a powerful, those powerful three
00:35:20.020 words, we the people. It's amazing what we do in our own ways, in our own positions, whatever we can
00:35:25.200 bring to the plate that always brings our country back from the brink when we need it. And that's
00:35:30.640 what's happening now. And I appreciate your platform because your platform is as important or probably
00:35:35.840 more important than what I can do because it's about getting people educated. And the more we
00:35:39.920 know about who we are, what our background is, what we're up against, the more we can talk together,
00:35:44.540 we just win. And so I appreciate the opportunity, my friend, really, to talk with you again.
00:35:49.280 Well, I'm thrilled, as I said. And again, I'm just deeply grateful for your service to the people
00:35:56.880 of Utah and the nation. I want to start, too, by pointing out what committees you sit on and what
00:36:03.680 issues are critically important for the country. Congressman Burgess is on the Committee for
00:36:10.360 Education and Labor. As you know, both subjects near and dear to my heart, the Judiciary Committee,
00:36:15.920 the ranking member of the National Republican Congressional Committee, which is charged with
00:36:20.360 the responsibility of getting Republicans elected to Congress. And that's pretty important because next
00:36:26.360 year, it means regaining a majority in the House. We've got a lot to cover. I just want to say,
00:36:33.260 again, this coordinated effort to threaten and to intimidate the Biden administration and the
00:36:39.320 American people, whether it's China warning Biden not to play with fire, whether it's Russia amassing
00:36:45.280 troops on Ukraine's eastern border, whether it's the World Health Organization all but yelling fire
00:36:50.460 over the holidays, announcing a new China virus. I have no doubt, Congressman, that that's a coordinated
00:36:58.780 effort. And do you agree? Absolutely. You have to keep in mind, the biggest thing we can do is learn
00:37:05.680 our history, know what that's all about. And our history shows us that China and Russia have never
00:37:09.900 been really close friends. They do have a common enemy. And that common enemy now is the United States
00:37:16.280 America, a weakened one, one that they could not have done the things they're doing now just two
00:37:21.480 years ago, just a year ago. They understood we had a president that understood what bullies were all
00:37:28.340 about and how to deal with them. And unfortunately, now at a point where the president we have now in
00:37:34.120 administration is a polar opposite. So there's no question, we know that the enemy is out there.
00:37:42.120 I think the thing that I'd like to kind of point out, Lou, that, and this keeps me optimistic.
00:37:48.920 Again, I mentioned earlier, the most powerful three words in history may encounter, we the people.
00:37:53.080 And it's nothing more powerful than when Americans start talking and we start communicating together.
00:37:58.160 It's that harmony we have. It's those things that brings us together so we can find ourselves on the
00:38:02.280 same team. And it doesn't matter whether we're Democrats or Republicans or Independents. Right now,
00:38:06.340 we have so much to talk about that we're actually going through that it's going to strengthen us.
00:38:11.200 And I think as we, the people stand strong, as we're starting to see across the country,
00:38:16.140 so many different areas, we will begin to put in place the right people to stand strong against
00:38:22.220 the Biden administration and their lack of understanding of how to move this thing forward.
00:38:27.860 And we'll be a stronger voice for the American people as we move into 2022 and beyond.
00:38:32.560 Well, we have so many issues right now confronting the country. Even if we just turned a blind eye
00:38:41.340 toward China and Russia and the Middle East and just looked at what we have to deal with right now
00:38:47.640 within our borders, it's daunting to say the very least. We have an education system that is failing
00:38:56.460 millions of students. We have a judiciary that is not inspiring confidence that Lady Justice is blind at all.
00:39:09.040 But rather, those scales have a heavy hand of partisanship and ideology resting on one side or the other.
00:39:18.680 We have an economy that, while strong, is being attacked every day by Marxist leftists in this country
00:39:30.880 trying to upend this free enterprise, capitalist economy, and trying to rewrite history in such a way
00:39:40.380 as to dismiss our heritage and our values as a people. Your reaction?
00:39:48.560 Well, you know, what Karl Marx said back in the 1800s, and it is very true,
00:39:55.680 he said the first battleground rewriting of history, what the left, and you know, we're seeing words now,
00:40:02.540 Lou, that is pretty significant. I mean, we always talk about socialism.
00:40:05.620 We're now talking about Marxism. And to educate ourselves and to say those words,
00:40:11.420 people begin to wonder, say, well, what does that really mean? Because it's not being taught in our
00:40:15.040 school system. To know that Marxism is everything we stand against. It's anti-family, anti-God,
00:40:22.520 it's anti-business, everything we stand against. And we're finally having a conversation about what
00:40:26.580 that looks like, and people are seeing it. It's not hypothetical anymore. But it was Karl Marx to say
00:40:31.580 the first battleground rewriting of history, because what the Marxists know, the left knows,
00:40:36.340 and it's a fight we've been fighting for a long, long time. You steal American history. You steal
00:40:41.140 everything that makes us who we are. They steal the pride in our past, the appreciation for who we are
00:40:46.820 today, and any vision of what we can become, because our history tells us our possibilities,
00:40:52.880 our potential. And so that's what we're now fighting. And I guess the upside, this is why,
00:40:57.760 believe it or not, it's as crazy as things are right now. I've never been more optimistic than I am
00:41:02.940 today. Because what's happening, the American people are waking up. The CRT that's been going,
00:41:07.460 it's been, it's like little, there's been little termites, these elitists, these educators, that
00:41:12.120 they get into these safe spots. They get into these places where they can't get fired. They can attack
00:41:16.020 our youth without any consequences. And they just stay there for years and years as they change our
00:41:21.080 culture from within. Well, now we know about them. We're talking about CRT, parents. And this is,
00:41:27.080 you know, they can take away, they can take away their attack, our attempts to come together with
00:41:31.540 our flag, attack our attempts to come together with our sports. But what they can't do is they
00:41:36.960 can't attack parents and their love for their kids. And what's happening right now, parents are waking
00:41:41.220 up, realizing their kids, black, white, Spanish, it doesn't matter what the color is, are being taught
00:41:46.440 to be racist, are being taught to be either feel as an oppressor or a victim. And that is nothing
00:41:53.100 close to the American way. So I am, I'm very excited to see parents standing up. I'm very
00:41:58.200 excited to see what time, we're now our kids have a chance to experience inflation. You know,
00:42:02.100 keep in mind, Lou, you and I, we remember the Carter days. We remember back when we had to stand
00:42:07.560 in line to get a gas, to get gas, to fill our tanks. A lot of kids have no idea what inflation
00:42:12.260 is about until now. So the fact we're feeling these things, we're emotionally seeing the uptick in crime
00:42:18.320 and the fear that we're, we can't go out to a big city anymore, plan on having a good time and
00:42:22.800 vacation. All those things allows us to have this common, commonality of a conversation that this
00:42:30.620 is not what I signed up for. And so you're seeing it now with the left, they're losing in so many
00:42:35.080 different ways. And I think the desperation, they're going to try to, to put the pedal to the
00:42:38.640 metal because they know they're running out of time. And those students who didn't have an experience,
00:42:45.940 quote, unquote, runaway inflation, as it was often called, who are now, they're also still being
00:42:54.220 indoctrinated by the left. And it's striking to me that no one wants to take on the National
00:43:01.400 Education Association, the Federation of Teachers, because their marching orders are CRT, critical race
00:43:10.160 theory, to teach that white people are racist and the, and the, and the foundation of everything that
00:43:18.880 is flawed and imperfect in our society, to put it kindly. When, when we're unable to talk about
00:43:29.500 those two unions, they are the key drivers of this within the educational system. And with,
00:43:37.560 and within the workplace, corporate America has been the key driver through its HR departments
00:43:43.640 of critical race theory, of whether, and also EDI, any number of these fictions that are posing as
00:43:54.180 some sort of evolutionary insight into human nature, which they are the, obviously the opposite.
00:44:02.340 But they are just propaganda.
00:44:05.160 And here's the thing, Lou. First of all, we've been under attack for a long, long time.
00:44:10.300 You know, I know a lot of people are trying to figure out what, what this CRT thing is all about,
00:44:14.340 and why we can have kids that literally leave a community, make $50 million a year, can still
00:44:21.300 cannot stand for a flag. And now we're seeing why. This has been something that's been going on for a
00:44:26.180 long, long time. And, and the, the upside, very simply, we talk about how can we get a change.
00:44:32.220 We have a way, our country has a way of, of, of, of getting back on track. We don't, we don't do it
00:44:39.340 immediately. We have, we do it through a process of order. And in 2022, you can see the American people
00:44:45.120 in an orderly way, stand up against everything you just mentioned. They're going to stand up against
00:44:49.500 these coward and bullies, uh, uh, professors who, who, who, who, who, who keep these jobs for 30,
00:44:55.300 40 years. And all they have to do is sit there and just teach this, this mess. And they, and they,
00:44:59.260 they thrive. They're standing up against, uh, uh, a, a, a system in which the board is now coming
00:45:04.400 just wide open. We're now finally understanding what the left means when they say open borders,
00:45:08.720 as every single city around our country now can literally be a border town as we see uptick and,
00:45:14.260 and fentanyl and, and, and crime and everything else. Uh, so what, what I see,
00:45:19.500 happening, I know it's a very tough thing to go through, but we're waking up because of the
00:45:24.620 contrast that we all, all have a tendency of wanting to be free and, and have an opportunity
00:45:29.620 and we're not seeing the other side of it. Uh, and can, can I just bring this little, little quick,
00:45:33.780 little quick piece in there too, because we're, we're, we're celebrating, uh, this year, the 400th
00:45:38.300 anniversary of the Pilgrims landing, um, uh, in America. And, and this is something that has not been
00:45:44.940 talked about because not too much, uh, the, the, the left does not want to teach the power
00:45:50.220 of that process, the, the faith that it took, uh, these, these farmers to decide to just pull up
00:45:56.740 from, uh, uh, from where they were. They were in Holland, by the way, they weren't in England.
00:46:00.420 They, they could have stayed there, but they saw their future. They saw their kids, their future
00:46:04.500 is being changed and corrupted. So they took the chance. They took the faith to go to a place where
00:46:10.000 you can start anew and take their faith with them. And before getting off that ship, they penned
00:46:14.680 something called the Mayflower Compact. The first time that a, a, a society was designed, a, a, a,
00:46:20.640 a community was designed on rule of law. These are the things that the, if you understand that it's
00:46:25.880 not an accident that our country is as free as it is, because we start off with Judeo-Christian values
00:46:30.780 that have made us such a unique place that no, another place in the history of mankind. If we go back
00:46:36.420 to, to recognizing that that's where we began, that we can have the faith that we have, we are not at
00:46:42.240 the end of our, of our journey, that we still have a God in heaven who's going to bless us, even though
00:46:46.860 we have to go through tough times and sometimes wake up and see it, that's kind of how it works.
00:46:51.160 Contrast is important. And that country crossed the board. There's no one not impacted by the, the,
00:46:57.820 the remarkable failure of this administration. No one can say, I'm not touched, whether it be,
00:47:04.700 um, Afghanistan, you see, uh, Americans left behind, whether you have young people that's
00:47:11.300 being touched on every single ideology dying, but with these, this, the drugs come through to the
00:47:16.240 borders. So I I'm, I'm optimistic because I know that through these dark times, the light is coming
00:47:22.580 and it's going to be 2022. And American people can speak as collectively that we don't want
00:47:27.740 Marxism. We want freedom. And now we can start having conversations about what that looks like.
00:47:31.940 Right. Uh, I, I have to say, I've been talking about some of these issues, whether it's, uh,
00:47:39.460 uh, open borders, uh, illegal immigration, public education, uh, for 20 years at least. And what I
00:47:48.000 have seen instead of what I had hoped for, and I'm an optimist just like you, but I have seen the
00:47:55.080 democratic party shift farther and farther left. Uh, they are not only radical Dems. Now they have a
00:48:02.680 strong Marxist, uh, influence within the party. Uh, and that's clear as this administration
00:48:10.300 demonstrates almost daily, uh, in its conduct and in its statements. And also those it supports
00:48:18.080 what I am concerned about is a Republican party that has from 2012, you remember, uh,
00:48:26.080 Reince Priebus was a chair of the RNC. And he insisted that there be an autopsy after what
00:48:33.180 should have been a no brainer for the Republican party to have won with an economy in the state that
00:48:38.540 it was. And the low poll numbers, people forget this, uh, Barack Obama, but in point of fact,
00:48:44.800 the Republicans screwed it up to put it just as kindly as I can. And that autopsy revealed very
00:48:53.240 little, except it did engender promises from the succeeding chair of the RNC, uh, Ronald McDaniel,
00:49:01.020 that it wouldn't happen again, uh, in 2020, but there is no autopsy. There's been no examination of why
00:49:09.860 the Republicans lost and what happened. And it wasn't just mean tweets. I think you would agree.
00:49:16.660 And right now we have a Republican party and an RNC and you were on the, uh, on the Republican,
00:49:23.640 uh, campaign committee in the house. I don't understand why this leadership would remain the
00:49:29.960 same at the RNC after having lost an election makes no sense at all. I, and by the way,
00:49:36.040 Ronna McDaniel, I think is a dear person. Uh, she, she told me things about what was going to happen
00:49:42.940 in the 2020 election that didn't materialize at all, including the availability of, uh, ground troops
00:49:50.420 to be there, to represent the Republican party and in polling, uh, places all over the country,
00:49:56.260 uh, very, I mean, huge mistakes were made. I want to get your thought about it.
00:50:02.140 I'll tell you what, I guess we, I think the first thing I would say is, uh, when we look back on
00:50:08.920 2020 is a very disappointing, uh, where we did, we lost this Senate, we lost presidency,
00:50:13.860 but here's some of the inner work of the behind the scenes things that I see happening because
00:50:18.120 I'm part of it. I can understand. I think I have a good, I really feel of it. Uh, we did something
00:50:22.860 that was miraculous. We flipped 15 seats, uh, and did not lose one incumbency. We did something that,
00:50:29.520 uh, that literally again, in the bigger screen of things have, we have, well, we haven't seen,
00:50:34.180 first of all, for, for decades and we have such a small margin. This is really what's coming out of
00:50:39.120 the margin we now have because we, we were successful in flipping those seats and holding
00:50:43.020 on to the incumbency. There's only a five seat margin. And what that means very simply is that
00:50:48.900 we can literally see what the left wants to do. If they had the power, they are, they are,
00:50:52.900 they're, they're unashamed about it. They, they, they, in your face, they want to, uh,
00:50:57.060 they want to pack the court, the courts, they want to add another two states. They, all these
00:51:00.980 things, they want to federalize federal, uh, uh, election laws, but because it's so close
00:51:06.580 and because the, the moderates quote moderates, if there are such things want to stay around,
00:51:11.500 they can't get so much done. So not only can we see what they're doing, but we have the power
00:51:17.200 in the numbers that they can't get accomplished. So America has a chance to kind of understand,
00:51:22.260 uh, from their own, their own messaging, what their vision of America is. And, and, and I'll say
00:51:28.360 this, I think we're going to be adding on to what we have right now. Uh, Lou, I, I'm, um, I've had a
00:51:33.980 chance to talk to some of the, the, the, the new folks that are looking at, at running this time
00:51:38.240 around. We're going to continue to improve on our, on our, uh, uh, diversity. When I say diversity,
00:51:43.860 I mean it in this way. Diversity means in my sense, first of all, we all have this,
00:51:48.900 the, all of us, those of us came on, we have the same end game. We love our country. We have a
00:51:53.980 different culture. We have a different vantage point, but we all come to the same conclusion
00:51:57.460 that this is the greatest place in the history of mankind. And we're going to fight for it.
00:52:00.680 We're not ashamed of it. We're going to have more of that happening as we get into 2022,
00:52:04.660 more black Americans, more Hispanic Americans, more Asian Americans, more veterans that is coming
00:52:09.200 on board. And that's really what I think is, is, is the, the, the win of 2020. You see the Trump
00:52:16.720 effect of 2020 that we're not, we're not ashamed anymore of, of who we are.
00:52:22.200 Well, I would hope not. I mean, the very idea that anybody would be just makes me,
00:52:26.780 I'll tell you, that just makes me furious to think that somebody would be ashamed of being an American.
00:52:32.860 I'm ashamed of what I'm watching happen in this country. Uh, you know, you're talking about more
00:52:37.820 Republicans get elected. I'm not sure that's a good thing because I want to know who they are
00:52:42.500 and what they think and what they believe, because I hear one more Republican come up
00:52:47.260 and turn into these whimpering, whispering Republican in name only. These rhinos are
00:52:54.000 killing the Republican party, Burgess. They're killing you. 13, 13 Republicans turn, turncoats
00:53:03.180 pushed through the Biden infrastructure bill. 13 of them. Your house minority leader,
00:53:09.500 Kevin McCarthy assured the American people, but that wouldn't happen. And we get lied to every,
00:53:17.420 not every time, but in every major issue, the Republicans disappoint. I am not one of those
00:53:24.120 people who goes around, you know, applauding when a Republican gets elected because it's important to
00:53:29.160 me who he or she is. And they had best be a Republican to their soul, you know, conservative.
00:53:37.440 And importantly, committed to public education and to prudent, uh, management. And the fact is,
00:53:46.540 how can there be freedom as Ronald Reagan, uh, put it, if we, if we don't have limited government,
00:53:53.300 we have a government that's exploding in size. Uh, you were talking about parents taking back their
00:53:59.240 schools. It's begun, but it hasn't happened. And I don't see the Republican party being an ally of
00:54:05.880 that effort right now because they're scared to death. Their leadership is scared to death
00:54:10.560 of, uh, of standing up for the principles that make this country great.
00:54:16.680 Yeah. Let me just, let me say from the inside, from what I'm seeing, because, uh, the, the downside
00:54:20.820 of, uh, of the elections, if you're in a minority is that there's a little bit you can really do, but,
00:54:25.600 but, but put the message out. Uh, I'll, I'll say this, uh, right now. And I've been in meetings
00:54:31.900 because again, I'm on the, the, uh, education and labor committee. I'm the ranking member,
00:54:35.460 uh, for, for pre-k through 12. And I know that education is our major, major thrust coming into
00:54:42.160 2022. We have task force that the leaders put together right now that so that when we come
00:54:46.760 together in 2022 and winning, we're not just talking anymore. We're actually pulling the
00:54:50.740 trigger and making things happen. And, and I tell you, I get it. First of all, I'm the guy that never
00:54:55.240 thought I'd be in this position. Never thought I'd be a politician, very frustrated by the promises
00:54:59.920 made by Republicans of old. What we did, and this is the, the shade of the shade of the, of,
00:55:05.100 of, of, of President Trump is that the people that came in the 15 that flipped seats. Now keep
00:55:11.120 in mind, some of them are in areas in which is, is they have to be, you know, it's, it's still kind
00:55:15.800 of purple. And I, I, what I respect are those who can navigate that process, still hold on to our
00:55:22.680 values, but navigate being in a position where if they, if they are, if, for instance, they speak as
00:55:28.280 bold as I do and a, plus a Republican 12 place, they will not survive. So, so we have to understand
00:55:36.260 what we have is two types of parties here. The, the, the, the Democratic left is, is controlled
00:55:42.120 by an iron hand, typical of Marxists and socialists. They have a leader who would, who will destroy
00:55:47.060 anybody who steps out of line. The other side, our side are pretty much entrepreneurs. We have a lot of,
00:55:52.440 a lot of different ways of thinking at it. We, we're very passionate the way we think, and we don't mind
00:55:56.460 bringing it to the plate. And it's almost like herding cats because we're not the party that's
00:56:00.380 going to be pushing and, and, and hitting people over the head and destroying lives. We're going
00:56:04.800 to push as hard as we can and then hope and give the message that the American people can put, give
00:56:10.640 more of us more, more Republicans like the 15 that came on board this last time. Yeah. I understand what
00:56:17.880 you're saying. I think, but, but what I, what I don't know is how the Republican party thinks it
00:56:26.360 can survive by tiptoeing through purple States and pretending to be something that the American
00:56:33.660 people don't want. We want a country that we're, we're the Republican party is still the party of
00:56:39.180 Trump, whether anyone likes it or not. Yeah. Yeah. We're still America first. We're still all about
00:56:45.260 standing up for this country. And we have leaders who frankly quake in their boots. I mean, Mitch
00:56:52.320 McConnell is a joke. Kevin McCarthy doesn't have the votes. We're told by so many members to even
00:57:00.220 think about being speaker of the house and the rhinos are dying around, around Capitol Hill. They are
00:57:09.460 because Republicans have had a belly full of them. We need to, you know, your committee on
00:57:15.060 education. If it doesn't have an answer for what to do with the national education association and
00:57:20.560 the federation of teachers, your committee hasn't done anything because those two unions are a huge
00:57:27.720 part of the problem. And if they don't do something about inspiring parents and citizens of their
00:57:34.740 communities to sit on those school boards, they're getting nothing done because that is where
00:57:40.500 the American dream resides in our public education system. You know, this, it is the great equalizer
00:57:47.220 in our society. And it's right now, it's a disaster for too many children. We're losing immense potential
00:57:54.320 for this country. It's not a shame. It's a sin. What's happening? Well, I'll say, I'll say this. First of all,
00:58:00.440 we have a time of reckoning and that's I think 2022. You're going to start to see where we really stand.
00:58:07.600 Keep in mind, Lou, and I know it's frustrating. And if I wasn't sitting in these meetings and
00:58:11.780 understanding what we're trying to get accomplished, I'd be just frustrated too. But we are in a
00:58:16.160 position that we, first of all, understand where our country, where our country wants to go. And
00:58:20.220 we're going to have in 2022, even a stronger bench coming off, folks coming off the bench to add into
00:58:26.800 this, into this love America, being not afraid to say who we are. That's what's coming on board.
00:58:34.740 And I'll say this. I know it's a little frustrating. I don't know if you heard the
00:58:39.640 filibus that Kevin did this last week. Remarkable. And I personally, I believe he sealed in
00:58:47.960 the leadership. And I know it's a little frustrating with folks, particularly when we're not in power.
00:58:55.540 But I tell you what, what I'm seeing personally with someone who's a very, very strong conservative,
00:58:59.480 who believes in running after bullies and hitting them as far as I can, being someone who really
00:59:06.220 appreciated with President Trump, how he approached this anti-American philosophy. I feel more confident
00:59:13.860 with what we have going on today and what we're bringing on. And then after 2022, let's see then,
00:59:20.240 let's see then if we've held up to the problems we're making. I believe we will.
00:59:24.060 Well, Congressman, I hate to say this, but we don't have time to wait and see. This has got to
00:59:31.140 happen and the people have got to see it happen. We've got to see what your committees and what your
00:59:36.440 caucuses do about education. And by the way, those steps have to be taken now. A year from now is too
00:59:45.280 late. And the fact is, I've got to say to you point blank, I think Kevin McCarthy is a very nice fellow.
00:59:51.980 He is not a man who's going to lead the Republican Party in the direction which it goes. And what I'm
00:59:58.160 going to beg you in all of your committee assignments and in the important role that you have,
01:00:04.620 please don't let that committee put forward any more rhinos because that will kill the Republican
01:00:13.040 Party. And this nation can't afford to lose the Republican Party. Absolutely. Absolutely.
01:00:18.800 agree. I'll say this. The task force that we're putting together that I'm actually part of on
01:00:24.040 the education, for instance, we're going to be reporting to the people next, I think it's next
01:00:29.180 spring, so that we'll know exactly where we stand for, where we'll be standing, what we'll be
01:00:35.200 actually fighting for. Just like Newt Greenwich did back in the day, we're going to have that type
01:00:40.680 of commitment so that American people can understand what the Republicans will be standing
01:00:44.420 for. And I don't think we're going to disappoint at all. I really think we're going to step forward
01:00:50.380 and be able to pull triggers in 2022 instead of just talking to that point about what we should
01:00:54.660 be doing next.
01:00:56.540 Burgess, I can't tell you how happy I am to have you in those meetings and on those committees
01:01:01.160 and on the task of turning this country around. It's been great talking with you. I hope you'll
01:01:07.900 come back soon. And I wish you all of the best of luck as you take on so many challenges and
01:01:15.820 threats that face the nation. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you, Lou. And thanks for your
01:01:19.060 platform, my friend. It's imperative. Let's keep it going. Appreciate your voice. I really do. Thank you
01:01:24.280 so much. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it, Congressman. Congressman Burgess Owens, a great American,
01:01:29.900 a great man. Join us again tomorrow for the Great America podcast. Stay in the fight. Truth,
01:01:36.360 justice, and the American way will prevail against all enemies, against all odds.
