00:01:18.340 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs and welcome to The Great America Show. Great to have you with us.

00:01:28.160 A lot of big things happening on Capitol Hill this week. There's the battle for Speaker of the House.

00:01:33.380 Also, an insurrection that took place in the Cannon House Office building this week.

00:01:37.540 If you didn't hear about it, it's probably because the mainstream media barely touched the story.

00:01:43.140 In fact, news outlets such as ABC News were calling it just a, quote, gathering. Over 300 pro-Palestinian

00:01:51.960 insurrectionists were arrested during the so-called gathering where the rioters disturbed proceedings

00:01:57.840 and vandalized the offices of members of Congress supporting a pro-Israel view. It's unclear how many

00:02:05.560 of the 300-plus will be charged, if any of them, as we saw participants of January 6th be charged.

00:02:12.380 The insurrection was reportedly organized by a jihad sympathizer and member of Congress,

00:02:18.140 Rashida Tlaib, a known anti-Israel member of Congress. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene

00:02:24.620 is demanding that the Capitol Police preserve all video surveillance from the insurrection,

00:02:30.420 or protest if you prefer. Wonder if FBI Director Christopher Wray will treat these pro-terror 0.98

00:02:36.980 insurrectionists the same way he treated January Sixers. You and I know the answer to that, don't we? 0.97

00:02:44.360 Turning now to the Israeli-Hamas war, puppet President Joe Biden was in Israel on Wednesday

00:02:50.720 for just over seven hours. When he landed, he met with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

00:02:57.020 and some of his support staff, one of the people he met with, a doctor who is caring for those wounded

00:03:03.100 in the war. After talking with that doctor, Biden revealed he knows what it's like to deal with

00:03:09.280 people who were killed in war. He told the doctor his son, Beau, was killed in a wreck.

00:03:16.080 I treat Palestinian children. I treat Jewish children. I treat Arab-Israeli children.

00:03:22.160 And when my resident calls me at home at nine, that somebody is not doing well, I don't ask where

00:03:27.100 they're from. We currently, in the hospital I work in, have over 50 Palestinian families,

00:03:32.000 and we treat them the same as ours. Asking for some medical assistant's attention to our children.

00:03:37.640 That's right. Biden telling that same sad story. Biden's son, Beau, in fact, passed away from brain

00:04:05.780 cancer in 2015. The Iraq war, of course, ended in 2011. The Biden embarrassment didn't stop there.

00:04:14.260 While on Air Force One on his way home, Biden spoke with a press pool as Tony Blinken and John Kirby

00:04:20.200 looked on in dismay. Biden was asked about the missile that hit a hospital in Gaza

00:04:25.520 that reportedly killed hundreds. That rocket, according to U.S. intelligence agencies, was a

00:04:31.660 misfire that hit near the hospital. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad firing the missile. And when asked

00:04:38.780 about it, Biden made a joke that Hamas should learn how to shoot. No joke. He actually said that.

00:04:46.640 How about the hospital, sir? People all over the region are upset about the hospital and don't

00:04:51.160 necessarily believe you or the Israelis that they didn't have anything to do with it. Do you have a 0.53

00:04:55.740 message to the people in the streets right now? Well, I can understand why in this circumstance

00:04:59.800 they wouldn't believe. I can understand that. But I would not notice I don't say things like

00:05:07.820 that unless I have faith in the source from which I've gotten it. Our Defense Department says

00:05:15.580 it's highly unlikely that it was really a different footprint and it intercepted some. Anyway,

00:05:24.460 and so that's why, if you notice, I didn't say it at first. I wanted to make sure that I knew. And look,

00:05:35.900 and I'm not suggesting that Hamas deliberately did it either. It's that old thing. Got to know how to 0.97

00:05:41.560 stand. There is no way to explain or rationalize this man's words or his comments. It's an absolute

00:05:49.500 disgrace. Turning now to the battle for Speaker on Capitol Hill, there were reports yesterday

00:05:55.140 after Congressman Jim Jordan called off a third vote for Speaker that Jordan would support a Speaker

00:06:01.220 pro-tem extension of power to have more authority as interim Speaker until January. But after a conference

00:06:09.720 meeting, Jim Jordan decided against doing that. And instead, Jordan says he wants to proceed with

00:06:15.100 the votes for as long as it takes. We talked with Congressman Matt Rosendale after that conference

00:06:21.640 meeting. And joining us now is Congressman Matt Rosendale. Great to have you with us. Thanks for

00:06:26.700 joining us. Give us, if you will, your headline on what is going on in the effort to make Jim Jordan

00:06:33.300 Speaker of the House. What they're trying to do is really get the whole House of Representatives moving

00:06:41.400 again, Lou. And there are a lot of people in the room that feel like the American people are watching

00:06:51.720 the House of Representatives and have major, major concerns that, like, nothing is being accomplished.

00:06:58.680 Right. I think we've got a false premise, though, taking place because there's a lot of American 0.96

00:07:04.680 people that say, look, if you're not spending money, if you're not passing legislation that's going to

00:07:11.740 infringe on my personal liberties, then, you know, maybe that's not a bad thing. Hallelujah. Yeah. So

00:07:18.540 while they are concerned that, OK, if there was a major weather, if there was some major event that took

00:07:27.800 place in the nation that that required Congress to act, would we be able to do so? And my answer is

00:07:35.040 yes, we would be able to do so. The committees are functioning. OK, we're just not passing legislation

00:07:41.180 on the floor. And again, I just don't see the the real, real tragedy in that. So they were trying to

00:07:53.440 discuss and propose a resolution to grant the Speaker Pro Tem, Patrick McHenry, additional powers.

00:08:04.680 And that's a dangerous precedent. And so I would be opposed to anything like that. I think that it's

00:08:11.680 just not a good thing to do. And then they started talking about different ways that it could be

00:08:16.680 have sideboards put on it. We always hear, you know, the language about putting sideboards on

00:08:23.460 something or, you know, reigning in some of this. But my statement is that we should not be doing that

00:08:29.620 under the fog of the situation. OK, under the fog or the tension of of wanting that power to be

00:08:39.680 utilized right now that that should be if you're going to have that discussion, it should be discussed

00:08:44.420 when the speaker's position is not also being discussed and debated. So I my my voice and my

00:08:54.620 vote is to continue to go through this process and continue to vote. Yeah, thoughtfully put above

00:09:04.120 get 217 votes together and put a speaker in the chair. Well, let me ask you, they haven't been able

00:09:11.240 to do it in two whole votes. And it's and I can't believe the drumbeat that's ginned up by all the

00:09:18.200 consulting and activist organizations and groups like my gosh, we've that's it for Jordan. We've had

00:09:24.360 two two rounds of voting. Can't we can't we can't move forward. It is preposterous. And frankly, I don't

00:09:33.320 know what in the world is going on down there in terms of the Scalise. What would you call it? The

00:09:40.580 Scalise Scalise Caucus and the McCarthy Caucus and the just plain hurt feelings caucus. I mean

00:09:48.520 that those 18 folks right now, the number is 18. They're given they're given the Republican

00:09:56.780 conference a real I will say it this way. They're they're not they're not good advertising for

00:10:02.640 Republicans. Well, I think that and I've said this for every interview that I've done for the last two

00:10:09.640 weeks. Tensions are high. Tempers are hot. You know, a lot of people's feelings got hurt. And there's a

00:10:17.320 lot of folks that are saying things that they eventually they will regret some of them in a day

00:10:21.500 or two. Some of them that might take a month. They're going to regret some of the saying some of these

00:10:25.720 things. But at the end of the day, we've got to push the tension and the tempers aside and start

00:10:34.160 taking a really, really good look at who is going to be the best equipped person to serve as Speaker of

00:10:43.040 the House. And the fact of the matter is that Jim Jordan has demonstrated he is that person. He has been

00:10:50.460 the microphone for the conservative movement for the last several years. I mean, he really has. And so if these

00:11:00.260 folks would stop venting their their anger at Jim, that probably they truly have anger on the eight of us that

00:11:11.340 that removed Kevin McCarthy. And they feel, you know, they're upset about that, that he should have been able to

00:11:16.780 maintain his position that they just have to come to come to grips with us.

00:11:23.120 It is what it is, as the saying goes. And one of the reports that we're getting is and I'm talking

00:11:29.320 about media reports, is that a number of these recalcitrants, we'll call them the recalcitrant

00:11:36.500 Republicans, is they want to get back at Matt Gaetz for the motion to vacate. So they're mad at him.

00:11:47.020 So, you know, maybe they would like the Republicans to expel Matt Gaetz or something. I don't know what

00:11:52.360 they think they're doing, but they're holding up the Republican conference. And the last thing I

00:12:00.560 looked at, most of them come from districts where Donald Trump was the winner. And it's as if there's

00:12:07.360 also a subcurrent here. They don't want to have to be in a conference where the leader of the party is

00:12:14.120 the America first presumptive nominee for president in 2024. That is a strength. And if they can't

00:12:21.720 unite behind that, who in the heck are they? And how do you get around it?

00:12:25.780 That's why I say, I actually stood up and spoke in conference and my closing words were, look,

00:12:36.380 I didn't support Kevin, as everyone knows, in round one, when he wanted to be the speaker or two or five

00:12:43.960 or 10 or around 15 for that matter. But when I saw the decorum and the conduct on the floor

00:12:54.060 evolved to the place where we were getting ready to have physical contacts, myself and the other five

00:13:01.100 folks that were not going to vote for Kevin got together. We said, for the good of this conference

00:13:06.800 and for the good of this country, because we were losing all semblance of these institutions,

00:13:13.240 we will vote present and allow Kevin to become the speaker. But but we knew that it was going to be

00:13:20.200 problems going forward. All right. We're talking. We're talking with Matt Rosendale,

00:13:25.100 congressman of Montana, great American, and we'll be right back with him. Stay with us.

00:13:29.740 We're back now talking with Congressman Matt Rosendale and Congressman, do you have a sense

00:13:41.000 of what the way through this morass is? Jim Jordan, I want to get your opinion on this, too. Jim Jordan

00:13:47.180 is not saying much. He's not out in front. He's getting a lot of body blows. And and I just like

00:13:56.460 frankly, I'd like to see him stand up and grin and have a press conference and talk about it all

00:14:01.420 and be the guy he is. I think he's a natural leader. He's a great conservative and a great

00:14:08.300 American. I don't think the conference could spend months and come up with a better choice for speaker.

00:14:15.820 He's an incredible spokesman. That's why I say for the last several years, Jim has been

00:14:20.480 the spokesperson for the Republican Party for the conservative movement and has spoke directly to

00:14:27.920 the American people, whether that was in judiciary and the work that he's done there or just many of

00:14:34.420 the other issues that that we've had to address. And I think that the reason that he has not taken

00:14:40.440 the microphone is because he's trying to bring the the remaining opposition to his candidacy or to his

00:14:49.760 to the speakers ship. He's trying to have some some one on one conversation, some decent dialogue with

00:14:58.000 these folks to help persuade them to win that support over instead of trying to use what you

00:15:06.960 and I would both call the DC cartel, the whole whipping operation to to come up against these folks

00:15:14.080 and really try to to twist their arm to get to get that support. He's trying to earn their support.

00:15:21.840 Yeah. And I think earn it rather than

00:15:25.120 arm up and get the whips going is probably not the best idea. In point of fact, I knew you and I've

00:15:32.720 talked about this. I've said to for everybody, I think the smartest thing the Republican Party has done in

00:15:38.880 years is to have a video chronicling of this selection, the negotiation for 15 votes, everything

00:15:49.200 that was happening in the House. America was watching it. And I heard a lot of people say, you

00:15:53.520 know, that's terrible. I can't do this or that. And the result was great theater, great, great democracy

00:16:00.880 in action. We got to know more of our representatives in that four day period than most people had ever

00:16:09.520 imagined. And I'd and and I'll be darned if in this in the midst of this, everybody wants to close the

00:16:15.600 dadgum door. You don't want to have any of these disagreements and on the airwaves. I think it's I

00:16:21.520 think you're missing the greatest opportunity to be trans be everything that the Dems aren't

00:16:26.000 be interested in democracy, have it rough and tumble. I think the American people would be so

00:16:33.200 thrilled with the Republican Party if you guys could pledge that kind of allegiance to transparency

00:16:41.680 and openness and and shut down the back door nonsense. Yeah. Besides that, it's not working

00:16:48.400 anyway. Yeah. Well, they say daylight is the is the best disinfectant. Right. And and I just

00:16:55.760 don't understand where people complaining about the time that has taken. We've had two opportunities.

00:17:01.600 We've had two rounds of votes on the floor. Again, compare that to Kevin, where there was 15 rounds

00:17:08.400 on the floor. And I just they've spread this out over several days. And it's just has not been the same

00:17:16.080 thing. Let's go ahead and get the votes. He's been able to maintain, you know, two hundred one ninety nine,

00:17:21.840 two hundred. There's not that many people that he needs to to win over. And again, Jim is just trying

00:17:28.560 to earn those votes. He's not trying to use a strong arm whipping operation, you know, arm twisting

00:17:35.360 approach to this because he truly wants to bring the conference together so that we can come out of

00:17:41.600 this and be more effective as we go forward. And and I think he will be the speaker. But so do I. So do I.

00:17:51.600 And with that, the question becomes, how does he get there? Steve Scalise is apparently just angry as he can be.

00:18:00.320 And he's got some of his cohorts who are just as angry, but if not as angry as committed to Steve

00:18:10.000 Scalise as they can be. You've got Kevin McCarthy saying he's good with it all and he's going to be a

00:18:15.360 uniter. But meanwhile, there's some recalcitrant McCarthy votes out there somehow. There's got to be

00:18:22.960 a way to get through to that. And I don't see a way for any other person to come forward. I mean,

00:18:28.320 I mean, they can talk all they want to. Don Bacon, for example, and I'm going to use his name.

00:18:33.360 He's he's behaved horribly. He is supercilious. He is absolutely ego driven. And by the way,

00:18:40.960 he's obviously a man who doesn't have the guts to be a Democrat. He's one of the worst ratings 0.92

00:18:46.000 I've ever seen for a Republican congressman, the Liberty ratings. I mean, what in the world are

00:18:52.000 people trying to do here? I look, I honestly do not know, because anyone who's opposed

00:18:58.240 opposing Jim, if you go to those folks, I mean, we look at how many times did I hear this back

00:19:04.160 in January? Who would you like to put forward? Well, guess what? We had names like Jim Jordan.

00:19:10.000 We had names, you know, that we were putting forward to say we have alternatives. Kevin Hearn

00:19:16.160 that we were willing to put forward. And if somebody wanted another name, Lou, the fact of the matter is,

00:19:22.560 all you have to do is go down to the floor and present their name. And if they can get 217 votes,

00:19:29.360 guess what? They're going to be the next speaker. Jim Jordan has more support than anybody throughout

00:19:35.120 the conference. And he's demonstrated that he has the ability to work within the conference with

00:19:41.200 the work that he has done. And he has clearly demonstrated that he is the best spokesperson for

00:19:48.400 the Republican conference going forward to talk to the American people. As I've said on several

00:19:53.760 programs, guess what? He is the second most popular Republican in the country right now behind only

00:20:01.600 Donald Trump. You said it on this program first too. I want the record to show.

00:20:07.280 We're talking with Congressman Matt Rosendale. We're going to take up the issue of where we go from here

00:20:13.200 and how do we get there? We'll be right back. Stay with us.

00:20:22.000 We're back with Congressman Matt Rosendale. And Congressman, while we took that quick pause,

00:20:28.320 the Hill is reporting, is that correct? The Hill is reporting that there is a considerable opposition

00:20:36.800 to that idea of empowering Patrick McHenry as the speaker pro-tem. And in point of fact,

00:20:43.200 Jim Jordan himself saying he's running for speaker and he and his colleagues have decided that's not

00:20:49.600 a very good idea. Your reaction? That's great. That's great. So when I was in conference,

00:20:55.040 right before I jumped out to do this broadcast with you, you could see or feel the sense across the room

00:21:01.920 that they did not want to grant Patrick McHenry any additional powers. And in all fairness, Lou,

00:21:08.160 Patrick McHenry said, I don't want any additional powers. He said- He's been clear on that. He's been

00:21:14.480 clear on that. That I've been placed in this position to make sure that I conduct the affairs to help get

00:21:21.600 the next speaker elected. And that is all that I'm supposed to be doing. And he's been doing a great

00:21:27.120 job of that. He made it really clear he himself was not supporting this resolution. And I think

00:21:32.560 it's a wise decision not to bring that forward to the floor. And I'm very pleased to hear that Jim's

00:21:39.040 going to continue this effort to make sure that he can secure the speaker's gavel. That's- it's- it's

00:21:45.680 terrific news. It really is. Because he is- I think nearly everyone who's very honest about it. Jim

00:21:54.160 Jordan is one heck of a leader and a spokesman and for the party and for the agenda. And I don't know

00:22:05.520 what in the world is wrong with the folks who, you know, we're going to be able to go around that in

00:22:12.000 circles about why they oppose him. But the reality is he is the leader and he's got an opportunity now

00:22:18.480 to demonstrate just exactly how he will lead and what the results will be. So I- and I just hope

00:22:24.080 that he comes out not responding to every and trying to rebut everything that's said publicly,

00:22:30.400 but I do hope that he is leading vocally and on every issue that's important and presiding from the

00:22:38.800 from the level that you would expect the Speaker of the House to do so. Your thoughts?

00:22:42.960 I agree. I agree. I think Jim is the guy. I think that he has the ability to take some very

00:22:51.200 complicated and complex issues and break them down and discuss them and articulate them to the American

00:22:58.000 people in a fashion that they can understand them. And this is- the American people are starving for

00:23:05.760 people, okay, for their leaders to be fighting for the people instead of fighting for themselves.

00:23:12.000 This is- this is what they've been starving for. This is why Donald J. Trump has such support because

00:23:19.200 he recognized and tapped in to that energy that's like nobody is looking out for the middle America.

00:23:26.400 Nobody is looking out for the folks that- that go in and- and pick up that 40-hour paycheck and are

00:23:32.240 trying to figure out whether they're going to put gas in the car or- or buy the groceries, you know,

00:23:37.600 this week. They've been pinched that hard. And- and- and Jim is that voice. Donald Trump is that voice.

00:23:43.680 And- and I certainly try to be that voice for- for my folks back in Montana.

00:23:48.080 And I want to- and one news development here. The pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the capital

00:23:55.200 are outrageous. Will the Republicans demand that those people be marched off to the same gulag

00:24:02.560 in which the January 6th protesters were- were placed have the same treatment?

00:24:07.760 They absolutely should. I mean, these people were disrupting legislative activities and they

00:24:14.320 absolutely should. I haven't looked that far into it because we've been, as you know, been pretty

00:24:20.000 busy here the last couple of days. Look, I had my- I had my regular committee hearings yesterday. I went to

00:24:25.600 Natural Resources. So the business of Congress has not stopped. But when these people are trying to

00:24:31.200 keep us from doing our work, they absolutely should be brought before the same judges and- and courtrooms

00:24:38.400 that the people that came to the Capitol on January the 6th were- were paraded through. And let's see

00:24:45.760 if they could charge and prosecute it at the same level that those folks were. I mean, we still have

00:24:51.440 a member of Congress from New York that pulled a fire alarm in order to stall the- the activities of

00:25:00.000 Congress, the work of Congress. And I haven't heard anything else about that yet.

00:25:05.200 Yeah, that was outrageous. He should be in penitentiary somewhere for 20 years.

00:25:10.800 The way the- the- the Marxist-dim Biden regime Justice Department operates,

00:25:17.360 I'm obviously speaking facetiously here. People should be able to speak their mind, but I have to say

00:25:23.600 what they did in the rotunda. It's outrageous. It's silly.

00:25:28.160 Outrageous. 0.99

00:25:28.800 And by the way, it's not funny either, because, you know, those are anti-Semitics. They are

00:25:35.600 absolutely, to me, repulsive in their bigotry and their ignorance. And I think the Republican Party, 0.99

00:25:44.000 by the way, has a great opportunity here to remind exactly everybody exactly what the Marxist

00:25:49.760 party is and who they're aligned with. We're going to, as always, give you the last word

00:25:57.680 as a guest here, as is our custom. And Congressman, if you would, your concluding thoughts.

00:26:03.200 I am hopeful that if we take the time and careful deliberation that is necessary, we will put Jim

00:26:13.280 Jordan in as the next Speaker of the House. And at that time, we will begin the work on the House

00:26:20.480 floor again. Nothing has been really backlogged, backed up that bed. Committee work has been going

00:26:26.720 on. And I look forward to calling him Mr. Speaker very soon. Congressman Matt Rosendale,

00:26:33.840 as always, thanks for being with us here on The Great America Show. And God bless you.

00:26:38.160 God bless you. God bless your listeners. Thanks, Lil.

00:26:40.720 Thanks, everybody, for joining us here today. Our guest tomorrow on The Great America Show,

00:26:45.200 Congressman Ben Klein, highly respected representative of the great state of Virginia,

00:26:49.840 sitting on three of the most powerful House committees, appropriations, judiciary,

00:26:55.600 and budget, and a member of the Freedom Caucus. Please join us for that here tomorrow and join us

00:27:01.200 each and every day. Follow me on Twitter and True Social at Lou Dobbs and on Facebook and Instagram

00:27:07.520 at Lou Dobbs tonight. Thanks, everybody. God bless you. And may God bless America.
