00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Friday, April 3rd.
00:00:04.660 Happy Friday, folks.
00:00:05.820 An F-15 pilot has been rescued by U.S. military after a fighter jet went down over Iran, according to U.S. officials.
00:00:13.160 The two-seater aircraft appeared to have been shot down by Iran.
00:00:16.580 The American military was conducting search and rescue of those on board, according to U.S. officials.
00:00:21.460 The rescue mission follows hours of reporting by Iranian state media of a downed U.S. jet.
00:00:26.680 Iran's media published photos alongside claims that the IRGC had shut down the aircraft.
00:00:32.100 The Pentagon and the White House did not immediately respond to comments on the incident.
00:00:37.540 The regional governor in Iran, Southwest Asia, had issued a public plea for locals to find those who were on board the jet
00:00:43.780 and promised a reward, according to the officials.
00:00:46.780 A representative of the merchants and businesses were reportedly offering the equivalent of $60,000 for the reward or death of those pilots.
00:00:55.620 White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said that President Trump has been briefed on the incident.
00:01:00.140 It's the latest dramatic development in the war that's now just over a month long.
00:01:04.560 President Trump, of course, declared succession pressure on Iran to agree to a deal and end the war
00:01:08.800 while massing new troops in the Middle East and threatening intense escalation
00:01:13.080 if Tehran does not open the Strait of Hormuz.
00:01:16.340 Keep locked in with us today here on The Great American Show for an update on that crash and much, much more.
00:01:21.480 So far, just one pilot reportedly recovered by the United States.
00:01:26.300 Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has fired two more Army generals
00:01:29.700 after he ousted the Army Chief of Staff, General Randy George, yesterday.
00:01:34.060 General George served in the role under the Biden Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
00:01:38.360 Now, it begs the question, what took so long,
00:01:42.140 and why was he there with a year still into the administration?
00:01:47.980 Hegseth had asked yesterday the Army's top officer to step down and retire.
00:01:52.060 An extraordinary move amid the war with Iran and the latest in series of clashes between the Pentagon chief and the service's senior leadership.
00:01:59.960 Randy George had been expected to hold the job of Army chief of staff for more than another year until the 2027 year
00:02:05.760 and complete what was typically a four-year assignment as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
00:02:10.700 But Hegseth decided to go in another direction.
00:02:12.880 representatives for the defense secretary has said i guess it makes sense that you have your
00:02:18.500 own team in there not a bunch of holdovers from a previous administration that doesn't agree and
00:02:25.820 while federal employees at the department of homeland security are barely getting by without
00:02:29.380 their full paychecks amid this partial government shutdown thanks to the marxist dems dozens of
00:02:35.280 out-of-touch members of congress decided it was a perfect time for a lavish taxpayer-funded
00:02:39.860 overseas vacation. Left-wing TMZ continued to flip the script and has gone international with
00:02:46.040 their investigation into the congressional junkets. And what they have covered is pure
00:02:50.020 D.C. swamp corruption at its finest. TMZ had mentioned last week, if you see any of your
00:02:55.440 members of Congress or any member of Congress in an airport traveling anywhere, be sure to send us
00:03:00.660 a picture and we'll get the word out there and let the American people know who's on vacation
00:03:05.800 while these folks aren't getting paid.
00:03:08.560 Now, approximately 30 members of Congress were caught red-handed
00:03:11.340 touring Edinburgh Castle in Scotland
00:03:14.500 while the rest of Americans deal with the chaos that they've created
00:03:18.240 failing to fund critical agencies.
00:03:20.260 According to TMZ's investigation, the trip involved the congressional delegation,
00:03:25.200 meaning it's paid for by the government
00:03:27.360 while they don't pay our very government employees, folks.
00:03:31.720 Some of the photos that have surfaced include Congressman Jason Smith,
00:03:34.880 Congressman Derek Van Orden, Claudia Tenney, David Rouser, Bill Hazinga, and John McGuire.
00:03:42.440 Folks, these people don't want to pay our TSA agents and jam up our airports while they're all on vacation?
00:03:50.140 Make that make sense.
00:03:51.340 And some new economic numbers out today, folks.
00:03:53.540 The U.S. economy added 178,000 workers to the payrolls in March,
00:03:57.640 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics and their reportings this afternoon.
00:04:00.660 That's three times the consensus forecast of $59,000 and a sharp reversal from February's revised decline of $133,000, which is dragged down by large health care strikes.
00:04:14.140 The headline number underestimates just how strong the payroll numbers really are.
00:04:18.420 The break-even rate of employment growth, the number of new workers needed on the payroll each month to hold unemployment rate steady, has collapsed near zero.
00:04:27.480 according to analysis from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
00:04:31.060 and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
00:04:33.380 So it appears the economy is not as weak
00:04:35.100 as the Marxist Dems or Jim Cramer want you to believe.
00:04:39.180 Yeah, gas prices are on the rise a little bit right now
00:04:41.420 because of the war in Iran,
00:04:43.160 but that'll all come down very, very soon
00:04:45.720 while the golden age of America continues.
00:04:49.340 Please be sure to join us, folks, tonight
00:04:51.080 and each and every night, 6 p.m. Eastern time
00:04:53.380 for The Great America Show.
00:04:54.680 Rumble, YouTube, Twitter, wherever you guys join us.
00:04:57.480 Tonight we're going to be joined by former senior NSA Intel analyst and whistleblower Russ Tice to get his take on everything that's going on right now.
00:05:05.380 And China's latest hack and attack on America tonight, 6 p.m. Eastern Time for The Great America Show. 0.92
00:05:11.840 I'm John Fossett with this midday update. Happy Friday, folks.
