00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Foss with this Great America Show midday update for Friday, December 12th.
00:00:04.440 Happy Friday, folks.
00:00:05.820 President Trump tearing into once again Senate Republicans and their obstruction of his judicial and U.S. attorney nominees,
00:00:13.380 denouncing the blue slip tradition as unconstitutional and a roadblock that has effectively handed the confirmation process over to the Democrats in key states.
00:00:23.660 The blue slip practice currently functions as an informal veto power for home state senators.
00:00:28.180 The current Senate Judiciary Committee policy requires positive blue slips from both home state U.S. senators
00:00:34.880 as the nominee receives a committee hearing and a potential vote.
00:00:39.420 The failure to return a positive blue slip or returning a negative one from even one of the two home state senators
00:00:46.180 is typically enough to stop the nomination process from moving forward to continuing the committee.
00:00:51.900 The blue slip policy is a tradition and a matter of the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman's policy, not a formal Senate rule.
00:00:58.820 Chuck Grassley, who runs the whole entire process, said he's committed to honoring the blue slip tradition for district court nominees and U.S.
00:01:06.120 attorneys.
00:01:07.460 Blue slips are making it impossible to get great Republican judges and U.S.
00:01:11.200 attorneys approved to serve in any state where there's even a single Democrat senator, says President Trump.
00:01:16.720 If they say no, then it's over for that very well-qualified Republican candidate, only really far-left Democrats can be approved.
00:01:25.320 The president's remarks underscore long-standing GOP frustration with Senate norms allow home state senators to block judicial nominees through the blue slip process.
00:01:34.480 In practice, President Trump says that the allies have been weaponized to stymie conservative appointees.
00:01:40.280 According to President Trump, the situation has reached a shocking level of partisan unfairness.
00:01:46.140 President Trump has had enough of it, so it's now time for John Thune or Chuck Grassley to do something about it.
00:01:52.620 But they can't allow this to continue to go on.
00:01:56.480 Over on the House side, AOC sure seems to be living the good life.
00:02:01.400 While she runs around the country with Bernie Sanders fighting the oligarchy, she flies first class and always stays in the best hotels.
00:02:08.760 A true champion of socialism, right?
00:02:10.760 In just the third quarter of this year, AOC has spent upwards of $50,000 on hotels, fine dining, and other luxuries.
00:02:19.140 But remember, if she's doing it for the people, she's just sacrificing you.
00:02:23.420 These folks, these people, you can't make this stuff up.
00:02:26.220 AOC's principal campaign committee shelled out $680 on July 28th to stay at the lavish Hotel Placio Provencial,
00:02:35.900 along with another $1,500 on August 29th and a whopping $9,500 on September 29th,
00:02:42.960 according to the third quarter of federal campaign finances.
00:02:47.400 Not much of a socialist after all, I guess, right?
00:02:51.840 She dropped almost $50,000.
00:02:53.680 Think about that, $50,000 on luxury hotels and food.
00:02:59.760 Speaking of another corrupt Marxist dem, Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz is vowing to bring more Somalian immigrants to his state, 0.99
00:03:06.600 despite the massive fraud scandal that has unfolded in the Minnesota Somali community,
00:03:11.980 under his watch and the watch of the likes of Ilhan Omar and the other ilk.
00:03:17.780 In the world, Waltz would have already resigned from the role as governor over this.
00:03:22.140 Instead, he's defiantly showing the country that he just doesn't care.
00:03:27.800 And why should he?
00:03:28.980 It's not like the media is going to hold him accountable.
00:03:30.880 He's a Democrat.
00:03:32.240 Even so, it takes some serious nerve for him to be acting like this.
00:03:36.660 Waltz saying this week, quote,
00:03:38.180 We're going to defend our neighbors.
00:03:40.760 Instead of demonizing our Somali community,
00:03:43.220 we're going to do even more to welcome them in.
00:03:45.780 And, of course, he would say something like that.
00:03:48.280 He's probably made a crap ton of money off these people. 0.59
00:03:52.520 Speaking of another corrupt state, New York Governor Kathy Hochul and her deputies have been breaking federal law 0.59
00:03:57.580 by granting more than half of the commercial driver's licenses to migrants.
00:04:02.440 Trans-State Secretary Sean Duffy announcing this this afternoon.
00:04:06.440 He's also threatening to pull the $73 million in federal funding from the state
00:04:10.420 over this dangerous and fraudulent practice.
00:04:13.640 I mean, think about it.
00:04:14.460 You've got CDL drivers out here on the road with fake driver's licenses because they're illegals? 0.99
00:04:22.080 Now to some world news.
00:04:23.880 NATO Secretary General Mark Root is urging members of the state to prepare for World War III
00:04:28.500 with Russia and Vladimir Putin.
00:04:31.420 During a speech in Berlin this afternoon, the former Dutch prime minister said the, quote,
00:04:35.780 dark forces of opposition are on the march again and that Europe is facing a scale of war.
00:04:41.340 Her grandparents or great-grandparents endured.
00:04:44.640 He declared we must protect and accept an act to defend our way of life
00:04:49.260 because this year Russia has become even more brazen, reckless, and ruthless towards NATO and towards Ukraine.
00:04:55.800 Russia's economy is now geared towards waging war.
00:04:59.100 And it'll make the people more prosperous.
00:05:01.500 Now, I guess we can't leave out the fact that Europe and the European Union have done all they can
00:05:08.720 to stop any sort of peace deal between Russia and Ukraine,
00:05:12.180 only beating the World War III drum even harder.
00:05:16.700 Folks, please be sure to join us each and every night, 6 p.m. Eastern Time, Rumble, YouTube, Twitter,
00:05:20.760 wherever you guys join us for The Great America Show.
00:05:22.800 I'm John Fossett with this midday update.
00:05:24.740 Happy Friday.
00:05:25.320 Have a great weekend, everybody.
