00:00:00.000Hello, everybody. I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Monday, January 12th.
00:00:04.700Happy Monday, folks. Some big news coming out of Fort Pierce, Florida.
00:00:08.800Today, a grand jury has been impaneled in Fort Pierce.
00:00:11.740Crossfire hurricane and the illicit raid on Mar-a-Lago reportedly under scrutiny.
00:00:16.600The Fort Pierce grand jury is expected to investigate the almost decade-long conspiracy into President Donald J. Trump.
00:00:23.260The alleged criminal act started in, of course, 2015 and continued into the Joe Biden-slash-Obama administration.
00:00:30.400Democrats who approved spying on the 45th president and his family, raiding his home, abusing him with continued lawfare cases, etc.
00:00:37.300Now they say they're worried about political retribution.
00:00:41.020Of course, the legacy media has never been honest about the spying or lawlessness that was directed at Donald Trump, our 45th and 47th president.
00:00:48.800In December, former CIA director John Brennan, who led Crossfire hurricane's criminal actions against Trump, said he is the target of that grand jury probe.
00:00:58.180Folks, we hope, and we hope like heck, that they finally get to the bottom of Crossfire hurricane, the illegal spying on President Trump, and everyone who was involved, and those who were involved, be brought to the heels of justice.
00:01:12.520Right now, Senator Tom Tillis, he can't leave the Senate soon enough.
00:01:16.920He's threatening to block any future Fed nominations over the Justice Department's federal criminal investigation into Fed Chairman Jerome Powell.
00:01:24.780Federal investigators opened a criminal investigation into Jerome Powell earlier today.
00:01:29.500Powell's under fire for the cost of renovations to his federal D.C. headquarters.
00:01:33.460The cost ballooned from $1.9 billion to over $2.5 billion.
00:01:38.920In July, GOP Congresswoman Annapolino Luna sent a letter to the DOJ accusing Powell of perjury.
00:01:45.340Luna said that Powell was lying about the cost of the renovations, and he lied to Congress about it.
00:01:49.740On Sunday, the New York Times reported that U.S. Attorney for D.C. Janine Pirro opened the investigation into Powell back in November.
00:01:56.360However, Rhino Tillis, who sits on the Senate Finance Committee, lashed out at the Trump administration and said he would oppose any nominee for the Fed, including the upcoming Fed chair of vacancy, over the DOJ's investigation into Powell.
00:02:08.980Now, of course, he's got his cronies, his rhino cronies, on board with him.
00:02:13.060Lisa Mikowski, another one jumping on board.
00:02:15.900Folks, we've got to vote these people out.
00:02:18.360Take a listen to Jerome Powell and this cute little message he put together that he released on social media.
00:02:26.360On Friday, the Department of Justice served the Federal Reserve with grand jury subpoenas, threatening a criminal indictment related to my testimony before the Senate Banking Committee last June.
00:02:38.720That testimony concerned, in part, a multi-year project to renovate historic Federal Reserve office buildings.
00:02:46.880I have deep respect for the rule of law and for accountability in our democracy.
00:02:51.920No one, certainly not the chair of the Federal Reserve, is above the law.
00:02:56.360But this unprecedented action should be seen in the broader context of the administration's threats and ongoing pressure.
00:03:04.160This new threat is not about my testimony last June or about the renovation of the Federal Reserve buildings.
00:03:10.580It is not about Congress's oversight role.
00:03:13.560The Fed, through testimony and other public disclosures, made every effort to keep Congress informed about the renovation project.
00:03:21.400The threat of criminal charges is a consequence of the Federal Reserve setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than following the preferences of the President.
00:03:34.320This is about whether the Fed will be able to continue to set interest rates based on evidence and economic conditions, or whether, instead, monetary policy will be directed by political pressure or intimidation.
00:03:47.100I have served at the Federal Reserve under four administrations, Republicans and Democrats alike.
00:03:54.780In every case, I have carried out my duties without political fear or favor, focused solely on our mandate of price stability and maximum employment.
00:04:03.680Public service sometimes requires standing firm in the face of threats.
00:04:09.880I will continue to do the job the Senate confirmed me to do, with integrity and a commitment to serving the American people.
00:04:22.260Somehow, these deep staters, these government bureaucrats who do whatever they want to do,
00:04:28.560they somehow always wind out becoming the victims.
00:04:32.540I wish I knew how they did it, but they somehow find a way.
00:04:36.520March the stem Senator and disgrace to the United States, Mark Kelly, filed a lawsuit against the Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, this afternoon.
00:04:45.000Secretary of War Hegseth, early this month, censured Democrat Senator Kelly and cut his military retirement pay over his seditious video, urging service members to divide President Trump's order.
00:04:55.360Mark Kelly is, of course, one of the seditious six Democrat lawmakers who urged members of the military to defy President Trump's orders if they felt like doing so.
