00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Tuesday,
00:00:04.340 January 14th. I hope your all weeks are off to a great start and you're having a great Tuesday.
00:00:10.080 Well, Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense nominee for President Trump's week, is off to
00:00:14.660 a pretty decent start as confirmation hearings are underway in the Senate. For President Trump's
00:00:21.300 picks, Pete Hegseth among the first to head to the Senate for confirmation hearings. Mark
00:00:28.640 the Dems having a tough day, showing they're biased on full blast. When questioning Hegseth,
00:00:34.720 nothing of substance, all just slander and nonsense, as expected from the Marxist Dems. 0.71
00:00:40.380 On the slate for tomorrow, Kristi Noem, the Department of Homeland Security head,
00:00:45.080 heads in at 9 a.m. Pam Bonney just behind her of the Justice Department. Sean Jaffe from
00:00:51.000 Transportation Department will also be in. John Ratcliffe, the CIA. Marco Rubio for State
00:00:56.360 Department, Christopher Wright Energy Department, Russ Vogt, the OMB office, all on the slate for
00:01:02.560 Wednesday and more for Thursday and Friday. We'll fill you in as those continue to pour in.
00:01:09.300 The Department of Justice has released Jack Smith's report on January 6th. They claim Donald
00:01:14.900 Trump would have been convicted if not for his 2024 victory. Huh. U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland,
00:01:22.080 of course, releasing this report on the January 6th report in September of 2023. You all remember Trump
00:01:28.160 was hit with four counts in Jack Smith's January 6th case up in D.C. with conspiracy to defraud the
00:01:33.900 United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempting to
00:01:39.800 obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights. Desperate Jack Smith attacked
00:01:45.500 President Trump and absurdly claimed he would have been convicted if not for his 2024 win. We all know
00:01:51.940 that's not the case. Jack Smith is a very, very troubled man. His case fell apart after the Supreme
00:01:58.380 Court's ruling. That ruling, of course, giving Donald Trump the immunity he's entitled to as President of
00:02:04.840 the United States. President Trump releasing the following message on Truth Social after the report,
00:02:10.760 of course, was released. Quote, deranged Jack Smith was unable to successfully prosecute the
00:02:16.440 political opponent of his boss, crooked Joe Biden. So he ends up writing yet another, quote,
00:02:22.520 report based on the information that the unselect committee of political hacks and thugs
00:02:27.200 illegally deleted and destroyed because it shows how totally innocent I was and how completely guilty
00:02:33.680 Nancy Pelosi and others were. Jack Smith is a lame-brained prosecutor who was unable to get his case
00:02:40.160 tried before the election, which I won in a landslide. Trump concluding with, the voters have
00:02:45.540 spoken. And the House of Representatives have finally passed a bill barring men from playing in
00:02:52.420 women's sports. The question is, what took so long? And President Trump announcing the formation of the 1.00
00:02:58.280 External Revenue Service to collect tariffs and potentially abolish the income tax collected by the IRS.
00:03:04.500 This is going to be inaugurated as President Trump is inaugurated on January 20th. Less than a week
00:03:11.800 away, folks. Six days away. President Trump is looking for this External Revenue Service to go ahead
00:03:18.440 and collect tariffs from foreign nations and other imported fees, import fees that America collects.
00:03:24.760 So it's going to be interesting to see as President Trump tries to get rid of the IRS and maybe abolish the
00:03:29.860 income tax, maybe gives us a flat tax. I guess we're going to have to wait and see. But among the first
00:03:35.400 things on his list, no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, two campaign promises that President
00:03:40.920 Trump, we believe, is going to hold up on. Folks, please be sure to join us for today's episode of
00:03:45.920 The Great America Show. We're joined by brilliant, brilliant, brilliant author and China expert,
00:03:51.800 Gordon Chang. We take up where China is right now in their attack on America, 1.00
00:03:56.140 their vulnerable position therein, and what it means for President Trump taking over the Oval
00:04:00.900 Office. And as I said, six days. Join us for that only on The Great America Show, folks. I'm John
00:04:06.520 Fawcett with this midday update. Have a great day.
