00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Wednesday, January 15th.
00:00:05.020 I hope you folks are all having a great day so far and your week is off to a great start.
00:00:09.300 Senate confirmation hearings continuing today for President Trump's nominees, tapped to be part of his cabinet.
00:00:16.200 Yesterday kicked off with Pete Hegseth, who's up for Secretary of Defense.
00:00:20.220 Not going too well for the Marxist Democrats.
00:00:23.260 Their tainted line of questioning showed through and through what their objective was.
00:00:28.180 And it was to try to get one of these folks, in particular this case, Pete Hegseth, to slip up and say something by mistake and fall right into their trap.
00:00:35.820 Hegseth doing the absolute opposite, humiliating most of the Marxist Dems, just outsmarting each and every single one of them, but humiliating a few of them.
00:00:45.900 Hegseth even getting to a little bit with some of the rhinos on the committee. 0.66
00:00:50.060 Kevin Kramer, Senator from North Dakota, asked about COVID vaccines and those members of the military who were fired because of not getting the vaccine.
00:00:59.940 Hegseth doubling down on it, keeping his stance consistent with what he's told us in the past, that those folks deserve to be reinstated with pay and an apology.
00:01:08.900 Take a listen to Hegseth with Kevin Kramer.
00:01:11.580 How many other patriots, how many other people of conscience, we haven't even talked about COVID, and the tens of thousands of service members who were kicked out because of an experimental vaccine, in President Trump's Defense Department, they will be apologized to, they will be reinstituted with pay and rank.
00:01:30.160 Things like focusing on extremism, Senator, have created a climate inside our ranks that feel political when it hasn't ever been political.
00:01:40.740 Those are the types of things that are going to change, and Senator Sullivan, you mentioned that study.
00:01:44.560 After a whole study was held, extremism working group study, 100 extremists were identified in the ranks of 3 million, and most of those were gang-related.
00:01:55.700 So it was a made-up boogeyman to begin with.
00:01:58.000 As I said, folks, Hegseth not holding back, given the Dems and the rhinos on that panel what they deserve, and the American people, a little bit of truth, justice, and the American way, so we're all in favor of that. 0.79
00:02:10.200 And confirmation hearings are continuing today over in the Senate Judiciary Committee, Pam Bondi, who's up for Attorney General. 0.94
00:02:16.740 Before that committee, in the Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary of State nominee Marco Rubio, in the Intelligence Committee, CIA Director John Radcliffe testifying before that committee.
00:02:30.140 Over in Commerce, Science and Transportation, Secretary of Transportation nominee Sean Duffy over there.
00:02:35.300 Over in Energy and Natural Resources, Secretary of Energy nominee Chris Wright.
00:02:40.780 And lastly, over in the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, Director of OMB, Russ Vogt, the nominee for that over there as well.
00:02:48.780 House Speaker Mike Johnson showing he may have a tiny bit of backbone in one of his first acts as Speaker of the House, or re-elected as Speaker of the House.
00:02:57.420 House Speaker Mike Johnson said the flags of the U.S. Capitol will be raised their full height on January 20th in honor of President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, a move that also may be contrary to the code governing Old Glory's display following the death of Jimmy Carter.
00:03:13.260 On the day of Carter's death, President Joe Biden issuing a proclamation ordering all U.S. flags at public offices and U.S. facilities abroad be lowered at half-staff for 30 days as an expression of public sorrow.
00:03:24.440 I mean, I think it makes perfect sense. The Marxist Dems want the flags at half-mast for, you know, a public show of sorrow that maybe Donald Trump is back in office.
00:03:33.820 Mike Johnson not playing into that hand, thanks to him for finally growing a backbone, hopefully continues to hold that backbone for the next two years while Speaker of the House.
00:03:45.000 And folks, please be sure to join us for today's episode of The Great America Show.
00:03:48.420 We're joined by brilliant pollster and head of Rasmussen Poll and Rasmussen Reports Polling, Mark Mitchell.
00:03:54.680 We take up the idea of woke in America.
00:03:58.120 Woke in America is dead.
00:03:59.300 It died on November 5th and it's going to be buried on January 20th.
00:04:02.920 We take up the shift forward and how the Marxist Dems especially, but how America will assimilate to going back to normalcy and what it means for culture and children in schooling.
00:04:14.340 We also take up the Senate confirmation hearings and much, much more today only on The Great America Show, folks.
00:04:20.480 We hope you'll join us for that.
00:04:22.000 I'm John Fossett with this midday update.
00:04:23.980 I hope you all have a great day and a great week, folks.
