00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Thursday, January 30th.
00:00:05.660 Some sad news to report out of the nation's capital today.
00:00:08.940 67 confirmed dead after that mid-air collision last night between that American Airlines CRJ-700 and that Army Blackhawk helicopter.
00:00:19.200 The recovery mission is underway. Just over 30 bodies have been pulled so far from that frigid water.
00:00:24.940 An internal preliminary FAA investigation report on Wednesday night's air disaster shows that Reagan National has been understaffed for many years with just 19 fully certified controllers as of September 2023.
00:00:38.780 This is well below the target of the 30 that are supposed to be there.
00:00:42.860 This is a truly tragic incident and we pray for the families of those three helicopter pilots and the 64 who have deceased on that American Airlines flight from Wichita, Kansas.
00:00:52.820 Just a few miles down the road, Kash Patel was in a Senate confirmation hearing.
00:00:57.800 He was having a little bit of fun, I guess we can say, not letting the Marxist Dems try to come after his character.
00:01:04.520 Take a listen to Kash Patel going after the Marxist Dems, in particular, Amy Klobuchar.
00:01:10.000 If the best attacks on me are going to be false accusations and grotesque mischaracterizations,
00:01:14.360 the only thing this body is doing is defeating the credibility of the men and women at the FBI.
00:01:19.360 I stood with them here in this country, in every theater of war we have.
00:01:24.340 I was on the ground in service of this nation and any accusations leveled against me that I would somehow put political bias before the Constitution or grotesquely unfair.
00:01:34.740 And I will have you reminded that I have been endorsed by over 300,000 law enforcement officers to become the next director of the FBI.
00:01:43.260 Let's ask them.
00:01:43.980 Mr. Chairman, I am quoting his own words from September of 2024.
00:01:50.400 It is his own words.
00:01:51.640 It is not some conspiracy.
00:01:54.240 It is what Mr. Patel actually said himself.
00:01:58.220 Facts matter.
00:01:59.620 You forget that you had three minutes in the next round to say what you just said.
00:02:04.280 Okay, I'll say them again.
00:02:05.960 Okay. 0.89
00:02:06.120 As I said, Amy Klobuchar, a demented woman, you may remember her running for president. 1.00
00:02:13.540 I don't think she actually even made it into the primary. 0.91
00:02:15.700 She was so despicably not liked.
00:02:19.400 Tulsi Gabbard, just down the hallway, who's up for DNI, also having her own fun. 0.83
00:02:24.720 You may recall Tulsi Gabbard accused of being a Russian puppet, an Assad puppet, a Trump puppet now.
00:02:31.300 She had some words to say in the opening statements or closing statements of her opening remarks.
00:02:37.180 Take a listen.
00:02:37.640 Before I close, I want to warn the American people who are watching at home.
00:02:42.360 You may hear lies and smears in this hearing that will challenge my loyalty to and my love for our country.
00:02:49.340 Those who oppose my nomination imply that I am loyal to something or someone other than God,
00:02:56.200 my own conscience, and the Constitution of the United States,
00:03:00.760 accusing me of being Trump's puppet, Putin's puppet, Assad's puppet, a guru's puppet, Modi's puppet, 0.86
00:03:06.880 not recognizing the absurdity of simultaneously being the puppet of five different puppet masters. 0.84
00:03:15.800 The same tactic was used against President Trump and failed.
00:03:20.720 The American people elected President Trump with a decisive victory and mandate for change.
00:03:26.880 The fact is, what truly unsettles my political opponents is I refuse to be their puppet.
00:03:33.080 Tulsi Gabbard giving it to the Marxist Dems right in the throat where they deserve it.
00:03:38.260 She's way too high class for those folks there who barely know how to read at an eighth grade level. 0.89
00:03:44.580 And Mark Zuckerberg's MAGA takeover continues.
00:03:48.360 Meta to pay President Trump $25 million to settle a lawsuit.
00:03:52.920 President Trump has signed the settlement papers that will require Zuckerberg's Meta
00:03:56.080 to pay roughly $25 million to resolve a 2021 lawsuit that President Trump filed
00:04:00.760 after the company suspended his accounts on Facebook and Instagram.
00:04:04.920 President Trump's winning just keeps on going.
00:04:08.340 Folks, please be sure to join us for today's episode of The Great America Show.
00:04:11.640 We're joined by former ICE supervisory special agent Victor Avila.
00:04:17.080 We take up all of Trump's latest border fight, where we go from here, how this thing all plays out,
00:04:23.680 and where we're going to put the rest of these migrants that President Trump is set to deport.
00:04:29.940 Folks, join us for that today only on The Great America Show.
00:04:32.920 I'm John Fawcett with this Midday Update.
00:04:34.960 Have a great day, everybody.
