Transcript

00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, this is John Fawcett with the Great America Show Midday Update for Monday, March 25th.
00:00:05.920 A New York appellar court ruled today that President Trump no longer has to post that $454 million bond by tonight at midnight.
00:00:12.460 The court instead slashed that number by almost a third, ordering that President Trump now has to post a $175 million bond within 10 days.
00:00:21.060 President Trump thrilled by the news and spoke to the press after his court hearing.
00:00:24.160 He said what Judge Arthur Engron did to him and his organization should have never happened and should never happen to another person in this country ever again.
00:00:32.460 Thank you very much. Judge Engron has done a terrible disservice to the state of New York.
00:00:38.100 What he's done is terrible. Businesses are fleeing. You see that? We just released a statement on truth.
00:00:45.160 Businesses are fleeing and crime is merging all over the state and what he's done is such a disservice and should never be allowed to happen again.
00:00:54.160 New York State is being battered by his decision. So I greatly respect the decision of the appellate division and I'll post either $175 million in cash or bonds or security or whatever is necessary very quickly within the 10 days.
00:01:13.160 And I thank the appellate division for acting quickly.
00:01:17.400 But Judge Engron is a disgrace to this country and this should not be allowed to happen. Thank you very much.
00:01:24.160 The $175 million bond is still in excess of the norm, however.
00:01:27.980 To put it in perspective, Bernie Madoff, who defrauded 37,000 victims, running the largest Ponzi scheme in the history of this country, only had to post a $10 million bond.
00:01:37.660 And rhino Ronna Romney McDaniel made her debut on Meet the Press this weekend, or as we refer to them here on the show as Meet the Marxist.
00:01:44.700 The fellow Marxists on the network were not happy to see her.
00:01:46.980 Take a listen to mourning Joe and Mika this morning, whining about it all, vowing to ban her from their show, and asking NBC to reevaluate even hiring her in the first place.
00:01:57.660 Let's talk about the hiring of former RNC chair, Rhonda McDaniel.
00:02:04.140 Well, she was on Sunday's Meet the Press.
00:02:07.020 It was her first appearance since NBC News hired her as a political analyst.
00:02:12.800 I know you won't be surprised to know that we've been inundated with calls this weekend, as have most people connected with this network, about NBC's decision to hire her.
00:02:24.400 We learned about the hiring when we read about it in the press on Friday.
00:02:29.400 We weren't asked our opinion of the hiring, but if we were, we would have strongly objected to it for several reasons, including, but not limited to, as lawyers might say,
00:02:40.840 Ms. McDaniel's role in Donald Trump's fake elector scheme and her pressuring election officials to not certify election results while Donald Trump was on the phone.
00:02:52.360 To be clear, we believe NBC News should seek out conservative Republican voices to provide balance in their election coverage.
00:03:02.260 But it should be conservative Republicans, not a person who used her position of power to be an anti-democracy election denier.
00:03:12.180 And we hope NBC will reconsider its decision.
00:03:16.200 It goes without saying that she will not be a guest on Morning Joe in her capacity as a paid contributor.
00:03:23.880 And Ronna certainly did not disappoint on her debut.
00:03:26.560 She was asked about President Trump pardoning those January 6th political prisoners if he takes office again.
00:03:32.320 And take a listen to what she had to say.
00:03:34.080 I want to be very clear.
00:03:36.580 The violence that happened on January 6th is unacceptable.
00:03:41.040 It doesn't represent our country.
00:03:43.200 It certainly does not represent my party.
00:03:46.000 We should not be attacking the Capitol.
00:03:48.060 We should not be having violence.
00:03:49.740 I said it that day.
00:03:51.160 I put a statement out that day that this is not acceptable.
00:03:54.760 If you attacked our Capitol and you have been, and you've been convicted, then that should stay.
00:04:00.320 So then, but to the question, though, do you disagree with Trump saying he's going to free those who've been charged?
00:04:05.960 I do not think people who committed violent acts on January 6th should be freed.
00:04:09.940 So you disagree with that?
00:04:11.320 He's been saying that for months.
00:04:13.140 Ronna, why not speak out earlier?
00:04:15.060 Why just speak out about that now?
00:04:17.140 When you're the RNC chair, you kind of take one for the whole team, right?
00:04:21.980 Now I get to be a little bit more myself, right?
00:04:24.100 This is what I believe.
00:04:25.260 I don't think violence should be in our political discourse, Republican or Democrat.
00:04:30.320 And I disagree with that.
00:04:32.180 I agree with him on a whole host of other things.
00:04:34.160 Let's close the border.
00:04:35.280 Let's make sure we have good incomes for people.
00:04:38.280 Let's make sure we do a lot of great things.
00:04:40.060 But on that point, I don't think we should be freeing people who violently attacked Capitol Hill police officers and attacked the Capitol.
00:04:49.280 That's right.
00:04:50.040 Rhino Ronna wants those poor January 6th political prisoners to just sit in jail and rot and take the abuse from a corrupt Justice Department.
00:04:58.280 Very sad, folks.
00:05:00.740 And folks, be sure to join Lou today on The Great America Show.
00:05:03.480 Our guests are two brilliant Netflix documentarians.
00:05:06.200 We're joined by director Zachary Treitz and investigative journalist Christian Hansen.
00:05:10.860 They produced the all-new Netflix documentary American Conspiracy, The Octopus Murders.
00:05:15.620 That's the documentary Lou has been telling you about for the past few weeks.
00:05:18.760 It's a must-watch.
00:05:19.960 The parallels from the 90s to today about the Justice Department and the corruption that they are spewing upon us as Americans is grotesque.
00:05:29.500 And this documentary really sheds a light on it.
00:05:32.420 This is John Fossett with The Great America Show Midday Update.
00:05:34.980 Have a great day, folks.
