00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Monday, May 18th.
00:00:04.560 Happy Monday, folks. I hope you all had a great weekend and your weeks are off to a great start.
00:00:09.560 Some great news happening over the weekend.
00:00:11.360 Senator Bill Cassidy, who's a total rhino, soon to be outgoing senator, lost his seat.
00:00:17.760 Key victory for President Trump and for the America First movement.
00:00:22.680 Representative Julia Lethlow, a Trump-backed candidate and state treasurer John Fleming,
00:00:26.800 advanced to a runoff in the Louisiana GOP Senate primary on Saturday, with Cassidy finishing in
00:00:32.500 third place. A remarkable turnout for truth, justice, and the American way, and America first,
00:00:37.660 more importantly, a remarkable result. Nonetheless, Cassidy is the first previously elected senator
00:00:43.220 of either party to lose in a primary since 2012. The two-term senator and chair of the powerful
00:00:48.800 Senate Health Education and Labor Pensions Committee failed to even make the runoff,
00:00:53.500 finishing with roughly a quarter of the vote.
00:00:56.660 Both Leto and Fleming benefit from the MAGA voters' frustration with Cassidy
00:00:59.840 for his 2021 vote to convict President Trump on impeachment charges
00:01:03.760 related to the January 6th quote-unquote insurrection
00:01:06.820 and for his skepticism of Trump's decision to nominate RFK Jr. as HHS secretary.
00:01:13.180 Sorry, Mr. Cassidy. Better luck next time.
00:01:17.220 Cassidy had this to say in his concession speech
00:01:19.660 as he tries to take a jab at President Trump over the stolen 2020 election.
00:01:24.280 Take a listen.
00:01:25.040 You know, I've had the privilege of representing the state of Louisiana for 12 years.
00:01:29.760 I've been able to participate in democracy.
00:01:32.540 And when you participate in democracy, sometimes it doesn't turn out the way you want it to.
00:01:38.840 But you don't pout.
00:01:40.460 You don't whine.
00:01:41.860 You don't claim the election was stolen.
00:01:43.840 You don't find a reason why.
00:01:49.660 You don't manufacture some excuse.
00:01:54.400 You thank the voters for the privilege of representing the state or the country for as long as you've had that privilege. 0.93
00:02:00.320 And so long to the loser, Cassidy, who truly won't be missed.
00:02:05.400 Now, speaking of the 2020 election, which was clearly stolen, which Cassidy, I don't know, may have disagreed on.
00:02:13.060 But like I said, it's a benefit that he's soon to be an outgoing senator.
00:02:18.380 But speaking of that 2020 election, acting AG Todd Blanche was on Fox News over the weekend and ensured us that the 2020 election and the irregularities of it are being fully investigated right now with multiple investigations open across multiple states.
00:02:36.520 Take a listen.
00:02:37.640 Well, there's a ton of evidence that the election was rigged.
00:02:40.260 That's not something the DOJ needs to tell you about.
00:02:43.220 There's been evidence about that for many, many years.
00:02:45.160 What I can tell you is that we have multiple investigations going on in Arizona, in Georgia, in Fulton County, Georgia.
00:02:53.660 And that's exactly what we're looking at.
00:02:55.400 By the way, this is very difficult because they're very good.
00:02:59.180 They're very good at hiding up misconduct and hiding what they're doing.
00:03:02.960 And so that's why we're very focused on finding out whether the right people voted, whether people who were supposed to vote voted, whether there was one vote cast per voter.
00:03:11.220 And that's what we're doing in multiple states.
00:03:13.360 And I expect, and again, people, you'll say to me, how long has it taken?
00:03:18.780 Why is it taking so long?
00:03:20.180 And the reality, the answer to that is because it takes a lot of work to uncover what happened in 2020.
00:03:25.980 It takes a lot of old, good old-fashioned law enforcement police work, which is what we're doing.
00:03:30.700 And we have great prosecutors working on it as well.
00:03:33.580 And I expect that, and I assure you, I assure the American people that as soon as we have something to say for it,
00:03:40.040 whether it's charges, whether it's a report, whether it's the results of an investigation,
00:03:44.080 the American people will learn about what we've uncovered.
00:03:46.740 Yeah.
00:03:47.200 President Trump will surely be vindicated on yet another issue once again, very, very shortly.
00:03:53.860 Now, speaking of the stolen election, the Republican National Committee is escalating
00:03:58.140 its election integrity war ahead of the 2026 midterms.
00:04:02.020 R&C Chairman Joe Grutas announced that Republicans have already launched 130 lawsuits
00:04:05.880 against 32 states aimed at blocking the marxist dems and their efforts to quote cheat every single
00:04:12.280 day in u.s elections you know so it comes as president trump recently vowed to unleash a
00:04:17.320 much larger election integrity army larger than the one used in the 2024 election signaling that
00:04:23.120 the gop is preparing for an all-out legal and ground game fight over ballot security vote
00:04:28.840 counting an election for cheesers in the battleground states and so we wait and see now
00:04:34.720 Now, as all of this unfolds, President Trump is calling for Iran to surrender after rejecting a Sunday proposal from Iran as he's reportedly weighing resuming a war.
00:04:44.420 According to a report from Axios, a senior U.S. official in source briefed on the issue, says the White House has rejected yet another deal from Iran.
00:04:51.880 Officials are also saying that Trump plans to hold a meeting with his national security team in the Situation Room tomorrow afternoon.
00:04:58.120 The senior U.S. official said negotiations will continue through bombs if Iran does not change its position.
