00:00:04.700 Happy Monday, folks. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
00:00:07.940 We're now entering day six of the Schumer-Jeffrey shutdown, that government shutdown,
00:00:12.920 that they just seemingly don't care about the American people.
00:00:15.880 They only care about the illegals and putting them on any sort of government subsidy that's possible.
00:00:21.820 Now, we do have a little bit of an issue, a government food aid program known as WIC
00:00:25.840 that helps more than six million low-income mothers and young children will run out of federal money within two weeks
00:00:32.380 unless the government shutdown ends, forcing states to use their own money to keep afloat or risk shutting it down completely.
00:00:39.900 That's six million Americans, not illegals.
00:00:43.300 The $8 billion special supplement nutrient program for women, infants, and children, also known as WIC,
00:00:48.680 provides vouchers to buy infant formula as well as fresh fruits, vegetables, low-fat milk,
00:00:53.340 and other healthy staples that are often out of financial reach for low-income households.
00:00:58.720 That's right, American households, not illegal households.
00:01:02.740 The shutdown, which began last Wednesday, coincided with the beginning of the new fiscal year,
00:01:07.660 meaning programs like WIC, which rely on annual infusions from the federal government, are nearly out of money.
00:01:13.700 Currently, the program is being kept afloat by a $150 million contingency fund,
00:01:18.400 but they're saying it's going to dry up very, very quickly.
00:01:21.300 Clearly, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, adamant about who owns this thing
00:01:25.800 and what it's going to take to open it back up.

00:01:32.080 Everybody needs to understand how this works.
00:01:34.800 When Congress decides to turn off the lights to shut the government down,
00:01:38.900 it shifts the authority to the executive branch.
00:01:41.420 That's how the process works.
00:01:42.780 The person who has decided to put the White House in that situation
00:01:46.440 is Chuck Schumer, who leads the Democrats, the 44 who keep voting to keep the government from opening up.
00:01:52.540 They're voting to shut it down.
00:01:53.760 So what happens in that situation?
00:01:55.400 Whoever is the president, whoever is sitting in the White House,
00:01:57.840 and their staffs at the Office of Management and Budget, are given an unenviable task.

00:02:04.740 They have to then determine, since the spigots have been effectively turned off
00:02:08.300 and there's no more money coming in,
00:02:09.660 they have to then prioritize, triage effectively, federal spending.
00:02:14.060 They have to look at all of that and say, you know,
00:02:16.160 which things are deemed essential and which are non-essential.
00:02:19.060 Which priorities, policies, and personnel must be kept to keep the government operating
00:02:23.440 and which are less of a priority.
00:02:26.360 So whomever is sitting in the White House gets to then apply their lenses of review.
00:02:31.040 We happen to have a Republican, a conservative administration.
00:02:34.460 We're very grateful for that.
00:02:35.920 We're limited government conservatives.
00:02:37.560 We think the government's too big.
00:02:38.640 We think the federal government is too big, it does too many things,
00:02:40.980 and it does almost nothing well.
00:02:42.580 And so it serves the taxpayers to send less of their hard-earned money to Washington
00:02:46.280 and keep more in their pockets.
00:02:47.620 That's what we're advancing through the one big, beautiful bill
00:02:49.700 and all the legislative priorities that we achieve.
00:02:52.640 But see, sometimes Democrats, not sometimes, all the time,
00:02:55.140 Democrats don't agree with that because they love big government.
00:02:57.420 I mean, listen to them.
00:02:58.180 They want the government to control every aspect of your lives
00:03:00.420 and they need all of your hard-earned dollars to do that.
00:03:03.360 In fact, they'd like to take them all.
00:03:04.360 That's what the socialists are arguing for.
00:03:06.000 That's what the Marxists believe.
00:03:07.320 We believe the opposite.
00:03:08.880 So here's the situation.
00:03:10.340 Here's the president, the current occupant of the White House,
00:03:12.920 that's been given this opportunity by Chuck Schumer.
00:03:15.420 And he's a limited government conservative.
00:03:17.300 He's looking at that and saying, gee, you know, this is inefficient.
00:03:19.900 This is ineffective.
00:03:21.420 And we'd never get Democrat votes to limit that
00:03:23.300 because they never vote to limit government, ever.
00:03:25.740 It's against their religion.
00:03:26.920 But he has that opportunity now to say,
00:03:28.800 this is a program that would serve the American people

00:03:32.820 Because the government would be more efficient and effective.
