00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Thursday, October 9th.
00:00:04.780 Happy Thursday, folks.
00:00:06.340 While the government may be shut down because of Hakeem Jeffries and because of Chuck Schumer
00:00:10.780 and because of their games they're playing with the American people,
00:00:13.680 Senate Majority Leader John Thune announcing this morning that he will not help the Democrats
00:00:17.420 bail themselves out of this mess, shooting down speculation that Republicans would deploy
00:00:22.360 the so-called nuclear option to break the funding stalemate.
00:00:26.580 Now, the idea has gained traction on social media, particularly among Democrats
00:00:30.140 who already support getting rid of the 60-vote threshold needed for legislation.
00:00:34.820 The nuclear option found a new footing when a sliver of GOP lawmakers,
00:00:38.400 including Marjorie Taylor Greene and Senator Bernie Moreno, suggested that it should be an option on the table.
00:00:44.980 Thune, when asked about it, says he has no plans to get rid of it and says he had no pressure from the White House.
00:00:51.660 Now, while the Marxist Democrats are, you know, taking their time off and relaxing 0.52
00:00:56.360 and cutting paychecks from the American people,
00:01:00.240 President Trump and his administration are a full force work ahead.
00:01:03.880 This morning, President Trump hosted a cabinet meeting where he delivered some remarks to the American people
00:01:08.140 and he had some wise words to say for the radical left lunatics
00:01:12.200 that are holding this government hostage. 0.92
00:01:14.660 Take a listen.
00:01:15.180 So we're here this morning for a cabinet meeting as my administration continues to deliver for the American people,
00:01:22.040 despite the radical left lunatics that shut down our government.
00:01:26.280 You have Democrats that they've lost their way.
00:01:28.920 They have no leadership.
00:01:29.920 We don't even know who to deal with over there.
00:01:31.540 At least they know who to deal with.
00:01:33.560 We are we have no idea who we're dealing with over there.
00:01:37.120 It's like they have no idea what they're doing.
00:01:39.240 Republicans have voted repeatedly to pass a clean, nonpartisan bill to reopen government
00:01:44.880 at the same funding levels.
00:01:46.760 We're not going to do anything only good for health care.
00:01:50.200 We're really, I think, become the party of good health care.
00:01:54.580 And they keep using health care as a cudgel.
00:01:57.620 They want to try and get everyone thinking about health care.
00:02:00.920 We're the ones that are saving health care.
00:02:02.760 That was this morning.
00:02:03.880 Now, last night, President Trump also hosting a roundtable for some journalists.
00:02:07.320 The most transparent president this country has ever seen,
00:02:10.780 making himself available to every single media facet possible.
00:02:16.120 President Trump announcing that they have a deal between the Israeli government and Hamas.
00:02:22.000 President Trump now says he may head to Egypt for that signing of that peace deal.
00:02:26.960 Take a listen to President Trump about the hostages who are going to be released very, very soon.
00:02:32.640 You know, last night we reached a momentous breakthrough in the Middle East,
00:02:36.540 something that people said was never going to be done.
00:02:40.000 We ended the war in Gaza and really, on a much bigger basis, created peace.
00:02:45.560 And I think it's going to be a lasting peace, hopefully an everlasting peace.
00:02:49.420 Peace in the Middle East.
00:02:50.720 We secured the release of all of the remaining hostages,
00:02:53.940 and they should be released on Monday or Tuesday.
00:02:56.600 Getting them is a complicated process.
00:03:00.120 I'd rather not tell you what they have to do to get them.
00:03:03.220 There are places you don't want to be,
00:03:05.660 but we are getting the hostages back on Tuesday, Monday or Tuesday.
00:03:11.900 And that will be a day of joy.
00:03:14.700 I'm going to try and make a trip over.
00:03:17.200 We're going to try and get over there.
00:03:19.280 And we're working on the timing, the exact timing.
00:03:23.280 We're going to go to Egypt, where we'll have a signing, an additional signing.
00:03:28.040 We've already had a signing representing me, but we're going to have an official signing.
00:03:32.920 President Trump not just making America great again, he's making the world great again.
00:03:37.980 Creating peace deals throughout the world so that they're there after President Trump is gone.
00:03:44.000 So that there's peace in the Middle East.
00:03:46.100 Imagine the Democrats hate this man.
00:03:48.540 I've never seen anything like it in my life, folks.
00:03:51.680 This is the greatest president this country has ever seen.
00:03:54.580 God bless President Trump.
00:03:55.860 Tomorrow morning, President Trump heading to Walter Reed Medical Center,
00:03:58.700 where he's meeting with some troops,
00:04:00.020 giving them some planned remarks that he had on the schedule.
00:04:04.160 President Trump will also be partaking in his yearly checkup and yearly physical.
00:04:08.540 I'm letting you folks know so that in case you hear it on CNN or Fox News
00:04:12.020 that President Trump is in Walter Reed Medical Center and there's something wrong with him.
00:04:16.460 This is a planned checkup that President Trump has had on the books.
00:04:19.380 It was one that Joe Biden never really had on the books
00:04:22.100 and never made transparent with the American people.
00:04:24.660 I'm sure we'll get a good report back that President Trump is in great health
00:04:28.000 and there is nothing wrong with him.
