00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Friday, September 13th.
00:00:05.920 According to new polling out by NPR, PBS and Marist, President Trump appears to have made remarkable gains of about 14 points among independents and 19 points with Latino voters relative to Vice President Kamala Harris in a new poll.
00:00:19.260 Trump jumped ahead of Kamala in a three-point lead among independents in a multi-candidate contest, 49-46, gaining significant ground since an August poll in which he trailed Harris by 11 points, 48-37.
00:00:32.840 In between the August and September polls, RFK Jr., who notched 12% support in the prior survey, dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump.
00:00:40.580 Additionally, Kamala Harris' quote honeymoon period seems to be over.
00:00:44.660 Among Latino voters, Trump took a four-point lead with 51% support to Harris' 47 in a dramatic turnaround from August, where Harris held a 15-point lead, 54 to Trump's 39%.
00:00:57.160 And some more great polling for President Trump post-debate out of Michigan.
00:01:01.860 A brand-new Insider Advantage survey conducted this week shows President Trump with a 49-48 lead in Michigan, an advantage that includes a five-point lead among independents.
00:01:13.840 Perhaps the most surprising part of the survey, the poll found that President Trump is polling at about 20% among African Americans.
00:01:21.860 To put it in perspective, the former President garnered just 12% of the black vote in 2020.
00:01:27.600 Disney-owned ABC News caught in a wildfire once again.
00:01:32.020 An alleged whistleblower says that Kamala Harris was given the questions prior to the debate with President Trump.
00:01:38.080 ABC, of course, denying the allegations, saying they absolutely did not give Kamala Harris the questions.
00:01:43.260 But based on her answers, it seems she might have had some inside knowledge to those questions.
00:01:48.180 A little bit rehearsed, I would say.
00:01:50.100 President Trump touting his latest proposal on taxes this week.
00:01:54.200 President Trump saying if he wins in November, he will end all taxes on overtime work.
00:01:59.840 He says the hardest working citizens in our country should not be penalized for working overtime.
00:02:04.700 And speaking of economics, the interest on U.S. debt has topped a trillion dollars for the first time ever this year.
00:02:10.860 In the first 11 months of this fiscal year, interest payments totaled just over a trillion dollars, up 30% from a year ago, the Treasury Department said Thursday.
00:02:20.300 This is the first time interest payments have climbed over a trillion dollars in this country's history.
00:02:25.360 And it all makes sense.
00:02:26.760 The Biden-Harris administration thinks they can spend, spend, spend, and there's no repercussions.
00:02:31.360 We're going to start feeling them very soon if we haven't already.
00:02:33.820 And the fix for the 2024 election may be in.
00:02:38.380 The union representing the nation's post office workers, who will be handling millions of ballots as part of the mass vote-by-mail system,
00:02:44.700 have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris this week.
00:02:47.720 Voters are being asked to trust an election system in which the key part of the process of casting votes is controlled by an organization loyal to one candidate.
00:02:55.460 The nation's 290,000 active and retired city letter carriers, represented by the National Association of Letter Carriers,
00:03:03.440 say they are proud to announce their endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz.
00:03:08.340 They say that Governor Waltz is a union brother and a veteran.
00:03:11.920 Highly interesting that the union would do that and endorse Waltz, given his ties to China,
00:03:17.620 and his questionable military background, where he's promoted himself, it seems.
00:03:21.640 Be sure to join us for today's episode of The Great America Show.
00:03:24.660 We're joined by Trump attorney Will Scharf.
00:03:26.940 We take up all of Trump's legal cases right now and all the ones that seem to be falling apart.
00:03:31.520 Please be sure to join us for that.
00:03:33.140 I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update.
00:03:36.040 Have a great day, folks.
