00:03:03.140 aid the transition out of shelters so you pay these people four thousand dollars to get them out of
00:03:06.800 shelters or these expensive swanky hotels you're putting them in new york city you give them the
00:03:11.280 four grand and then where do they go james yeah so uh you and i have a friend in common and that's
00:03:17.120 joe borelli who's a councilman from staten island joe's a minority leader on the new york city council
00:03:22.720 obviously a republican and joe made a comment the other day that i think really resonates and i'll tie

00:03:46.500 that under an adams administration new york city would remain a sanctuary city what is a sanctuary city

00:03:59.160 so joe made the point five billion dollars a year to this now new york city has a 112 billion dollar
00:04:06.480 a year budget but five billion dollars that is like the nine top cities in the country outside of new
00:04:13.620 york city that is their entire budget that's the budget for per year for the city of dallas think

00:06:04.900 chancellor both of them are under investigation his police commissioner edward caban and the police

00:07:23.180 that's town cities and villages and i'm the mayor of a small upstate village in the county of the county
00:07:30.300 of orange um and there's about 560 or so of those 1500 municipalities that are villages and look
00:07:38.180 nobody gets into politics at this level to enrich themselves it's just impossible to do it i mean

00:07:50.560 year budget that is a rounding error for this for new york city that's a rounding error so and a mayor
00:07:57.320 here makes you know you know twenty thousand dollars you're not doing it to enrich yourselves now

00:08:07.820 down in mexico city is the fbi's acting legal attache for a couple years and there was a saying

00:09:11.800 of money but breaking it down living in new york i come from a family of three sisters or four of us
00:09:18.240 six in a total family all went through college i don't know how my father did it i mean took us on

00:09:46.260 thousand dollars a month when you're probably only making about nine or ten thousand dollars a month
00:09:52.400 now you have a family to feed you have a wife that needs to go shut it's just it the numbers don't
00:09:58.780 add up so when you have those people who are there like the nancy pelosi's and the mitch mcconnell's

00:11:24.580 talk about the fbi an agency that you know all too well um another school shooting last week another
00:11:31.360 tragedy in georgia the fbi knew about this a year before it happened we're now learning that
00:11:37.480 the mother of the suspected shooter called the school the morning of the shooting and said
00:11:43.160 her son may be doing what he was doing that day which was ultimately um shooting up the school
00:11:49.360 the school counselor told the school administrator they went to this the children's classroom
00:11:54.700 they pulled the school bag of a student it just so happens it was the wrong student
00:11:59.400 moments later they shoot up the school you have an fbi james that's just i mean i think it's
00:12:05.220 corrupt at so many different levels their focus is is on the wrong thing constantly 90 i'd say 95
00:12:12.020 of their focus is on president trump and everyone around him about how they can destroy their lives

00:12:26.240 so so i'll push back a little bit so so the fbi understand it in context new york city is a city of
00:12:34.900 8.4 million people they have a police department of 36 000 cops right the fbi all the employees in the
00:12:43.720 fbi are 36 000 they only have 12 000 special agents to cover all 50 states and they work in 63 or 64
00:12:53.240 different embassies around the globe so they don't just have the responsibility domestically they've got
00:12:58.680 the responsibility overseas so they're spread thin now having said that the vast majority of the men
00:13:05.460 and women the 12 000 fbi agents are good and decent people that are they're following the evidence
00:13:11.780 bereft of fear favor they're going to get the bad guys is there a problem at the top and i would argue
00:13:17.220 there's been a problem at the top since james comey and uh and andrew mccabe were in charge of the
00:13:23.360 fbi i think your point is well taken keep in mind the fbi director is a political appointee right they
00:13:30.580 don't run for office they are a political appointee now having said that are there some things that they
00:13:37.320 have failed at recently yes now i'll cut him some slack in regards to things like this somebody calls
00:13:43.660 in and they say i've got a tip there's a kid he's he's saying some crazy things online he's 14 years old
00:13:49.820 okay we have a first amendment here so you've got to flesh through we're allowed to say things that
00:13:55.620 are hyperbolic you're allowed to say things certain things in the heat of the moment you're allowed to
00:14:01.880 say things as part of satire or comedy so you have to sort through all of that and then make a decision
00:14:08.540 what is somebody doing that's either blowing off steam saying something to be funny or pithy no matter
00:14:14.280 how much we detest it but remember free speech is about protecting the speech we hate not to speak
00:14:19.340 one point on that james yeah they got this tip and they met with him it had to be they had to have
00:14:25.720 taken it seriously enough that they went to meet with him and his father no yeah so they stop in
00:14:31.360 here's what we call it john it's called a knock and talk that's all we can do we don't have a warrant
00:14:37.360 if they tell us to get off their property we have to because a judge hasn't signed a warrant
00:14:42.460 there's no probable cause that a crime has been committed is currently being committed or is about to be
00:14:49.060 committed so you're doing it on your your experience you're trying to sort through all
00:14:53.840 the fbi gets tips like this by the thousands every year and again i'm not blanketly saying
00:15:01.040 that i'm shilling for the fbi right here and saying hey it's not their fault what i'm saying is
00:15:05.360 difficult business to discern what's real and what's somebody saying something stupid some knucklehead kid
00:15:12.180 where the parents crack them in the head and say don't do that again it's that's that's a tough job

00:15:21.020 now on something rank and file fbi agents right that lewis talked about this on the show now for
00:15:26.580 the last i mean since we started the show and i had back all the way to his shows on fox business in
00:15:31.580 2015 rank and file there's good and decent people at one point lisa page and peter strach were rank and
00:15:37.860 file people they made their way up the ranks it turns out they weren't such good people
00:15:42.000 if there are good and you know there are good rank and file people i'm sure but i think they're far and
00:15:47.640 few in between if i went to work every day james and i saw and i was one of the good guys and i saw
00:15:53.640 what these people were doing and i saw what they were researching and what they were looking into
00:15:57.180 and what they were putting their time and resources into and i saw what they were doing i wouldn't be
00:16:01.140 able to sit back there in good faith but there are people who are doing that and they're probably by
00:16:05.360 the thousands those aren't good people they're watching crimes be committed under our eyes and
00:16:10.580 american civil liberties being attacked how do we get to the bottom of this i mean anything short of
00:16:17.340 dismantling the fbi completely so that's a that's a decent pushback i'll argue that in the thousands is
00:16:26.020 is probably not is not the right number are there bad people in the fbi look there's bad people in
00:16:31.580 society every walks of life every profession but the vast majority of fbi agents daily are just doing
00:16:39.280 their job now you would say to me well jimmy how the heck could they not have seen that this was
00:16:43.480 happening and here's what i'm going to say when you're an fbi agent and you're working cases whether
00:16:48.340 it's pedophilia crimes against children bank robberies assaults missing persons violent street gangs
00:16:57.100 russian espionage whatever you're working you're very siloed into that discipline so you're not looking
00:17:05.200 into election interference if you're working on a squad that is investigating the gambino crime family
00:17:11.040 in new york city so you don't see it now as you move up the ladder you have more and more influence
00:17:17.420 over what can and cannot be investigated and that's why i argue and many retired agents like me argue
00:17:24.220 it's not the rank and file because if some kid came to me and said hey boss i'm a supervisory special
00:17:30.200 agent and they want to come in and say to me i want to investigate this and i'd say well no you
00:17:34.780 can't because you'd be violating civil liberties the department of justice the attorney general
00:17:39.160 guidelines would never support it and there's no they're there now the higher you get you're able
00:17:44.880 to influence that more so that's why i'd say it's a much smaller group of people that are making these
00:17:49.960 cataclysmic mistakes and these partisan decisions not the rank and file i understand that i take that point
00:17:57.180 but the way i look at it is it's it's like a skunk right if a skunk dies on the 12th floor of the fbi
00:18:02.180 you're going to smell it on the 11th you're going to smell it on the 10th and you're going to smell
00:18:05.500 it on the 13th floor it's to me it's just hard to believe with how many cookie crumbs these low lives

00:19:40.940 never have conducted the interview of general michael flynn they inserted themselves we understand and
00:19:46.860 recognize that but that's not the rank and file getting on to director ray uh look there have only
00:19:53.400 been eight fbi directors in the history of the fbi and we started in 1908 and in 1924 a 29 year old
00:20:01.660 guy by the name of jagger hoover took over the fbi took it from the bureau of investigation to the
00:20:07.080 department of investigation and then it became the fbi as we know it he served 48 years at the helm
00:20:12.860 from 1924 until he passed away in 1972 under under eight presidents from calvin coolidge all the way
00:20:20.420 to richard nixon it's incredible that of the eight that the fbi's had fbi directors that were senate
00:20:27.400 appointed i served under four of them it's crazy because we had interim directors there when director
00:20:33.500 ray was appointed and it was after i'd already retired from the fbi i was heartened i thought this
00:20:39.140 was going to be a breath of fresh air after the comia era but i will argue that watching him in
00:20:44.780 front of congress whether it's the senate judiciary committee the homeland security committee the
00:20:49.220 oversight committee he's been a disappointment to me now he'd argue that you don't know what you're
00:20:54.520 talking about you've been retired for eight years but i think in representing our agency and the way
00:21:00.020 that he's doing it something needs to change john i will agree with you on that and i do not believe

00:22:26.700 more attacks on israel after october 7th last year and he turned and looked at the camera and said

00:23:26.220 ways to amplify messages and create and sow dissent and division so look i understand the fbi director is
00:23:34.820 trying to put the word out there to them not to do it telling them to knock it off is that going to
00:23:39.600 frighten vladimir putin the answer is no we've got to do something much more concrete than that but
00:23:46.160 it's uh i guess it's it's it's part of their programmatic way of figuring out how to combat
00:23:51.760 this in this upcoming election you know they say you said them for state actors one of them is one

00:24:19.440 is so bad and i'm not endorsing anything they're doing by any means but the fbi says these people are
00:24:26.420 a grave threat to society and to our elections i would argue that the fbi is a bigger uh threat to

00:24:53.420 you're a little bit younger but back in 1979 when a group of iranian students took over the u.s embassy

00:25:07.420 and sent them home why was that because they wanted to say hey look the united states is the great satan

00:25:23.280 same thing but they're doing it via bots they're doing it via the cyber world which is to take

00:25:35.820 country the divisions are on politics and on race and on social class status things like that and
