00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Friday, September 19th.
00:00:05.240 Happy Friday, folks. I hope you are all ready for the weekend as much as I am.
00:00:10.020 The Biden administration officials are starting to squeal like pigs.
00:00:14.700 Former Biden aide Jeff Zietz dropping bombshells and explosive testimony on Joe Biden's cognitive decline
00:00:21.160 and confesses Hunter Biden was directly involved in the pardon process.
00:00:25.640 House Oversight Chairman James Comer opened an investigation into the auto pen scandal
00:00:29.700 and subpoenaed several Biden aides for documents and testimony for their time in the White House.
00:00:35.940 Ex-Biden aide Jeff Zietz dropped bombshells during his testimony just yesterday.
00:00:41.120 Now, most of these Biden aides have been going in there and pleading the fifth,
00:00:44.040 but it seems now some of them may start squealing like pigs to try to save their own bacon.
00:00:50.940 Zietz told congressional investigators that Hunter Biden was, quote, directly involved in pardons.
00:00:56.000 Towards the end of the Biden administration, Hunter Biden was involved with the pardon discussion.
00:00:59.700 And attended a few meetings.
00:01:02.060 Zietz also told congressional investigators that while in office,
00:01:05.340 Joe Biden's memory and decision-making capability deteriorated.
00:01:09.560 In his testimony, he says that he told White House physician Kevin O'Connor
00:01:13.180 that Joe Biden should have a, quote, full medical workup,
00:01:16.660 including a cognitive exam after his disastrous June 2024 debate performance.
00:01:22.080 And while we're on the topic of the Marxist Dems, we might as well fill you in on some political news.
00:01:27.080 Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or AOC, appears to be poised to fulfill millions of Republicans' dreams
00:01:35.260 as she considers a bid for the most powerful office in the world.
00:01:38.900 Yep, you guessed it.
00:01:40.520 Axios dropping an exclusive report this afternoon that AOC has been seeking to expand her political operation
00:01:46.560 across the country and her home state of New York.
00:01:49.920 AOC has invested millions of dollars to expand her social media presence
00:01:53.740 and is also obtaining a list of possible supporters and donors
00:01:57.360 to boost her grassroots fundraising ceiling.
00:02:01.080 On the surface, it appears she wants to be the heir, apparently, to comrade Bernie Sanders,
00:02:06.500 as AOC has apparently already hired some of Bernie Sanders' former advisors.
00:02:12.260 Sanders' aide told Axios that at the height of arrogance to assume she couldn't win the 2028 nomination,
00:02:18.700 she has a support base that, in many ways, has larger potential with then-Bernie Sanders,
00:02:25.740 according to one of those sources.
00:02:27.920 Run, AOC, run.
00:02:29.740 We're all cheering for you, and we hope you decide to do it,
00:02:33.180 because 2028 will be a shoo-in for the Republicans.
00:02:36.460 And yes, the government is on the precipice of yet another shutdown.
00:02:40.360 This afternoon, the Senate rejected two measures to fund the government,
00:02:44.060 as this shutdown looms.
00:02:45.300 Both measures needed 60 votes to pass.
00:02:48.020 The Senate rejected a Trump-backed stopgap bill, 44 to 48,
00:02:52.240 and blocked a Marxist-Dem version, 47 to 45.
00:02:55.920 The Trump-backed stopgap bill would have funded the government until November 21st.
00:03:00.720 Democrat Schumer's version of the measure, to avert the shutdown,
00:03:04.560 would have funded far-left NPR and other Marxist-run projects.
00:03:08.940 Now, in a shocking twist, Democrat Senator John Fetterman voted with the Republicans,
00:03:14.480 while Kentucky Senator Rand Paul voted with the Democrat to block the measures.
00:03:20.220 Imagine that, folks.
00:03:21.520 This is what we're dealing with inside this Republican Party.
00:03:25.420 And a new sweeping overhaul may be coming for the H-1B visa program.
00:03:29.620 President Trump is preparing to sign a proclamation today
00:03:32.740 that will impose a $100,000 fee on any H-1B visa applications.
00:03:39.040 This would be the most sweeping overhaul we've ever seen to this program.
00:03:43.180 This proclamation that President Trump is set to sign
00:03:45.540 will restrict entry under any H-1B system unless an employer pays the new charge,
00:03:51.900 with the administration arguing the visa has been exploited to push Americans out of jobs.
00:03:56.660 The order will also direct the Labor Secretary to begin revising prevailing wage rules
00:04:02.200 to make it harder for companies to use foreign workers to undercut American salaries.
00:04:07.720 That is beautiful, folks.
00:04:08.960 That is America First at work.
00:04:11.720 Speaking of un-American,
00:04:13.300 a federal judge this afternoon struck down President Trump's libel lawsuit against the New York Times.
00:04:18.240 U.S. District Judge Stephen Meridae, a George H.W. Bush appointee,
00:04:22.820 gave Trump's attorneys 28 days to write an amended complaint.
00:04:26.660 President Trump's spokesman said the attorneys will amend the complaint and refile if they have to.
00:04:32.480 President Trump on Monday, just this past Monday,
00:04:36.460 filed that $15 billion libel lawsuit against the New York Times and several reporters.
00:04:41.780 The lawsuit was filed in Tampa, Florida, the federal court there.
00:04:46.100 President Trump, of course, accused the newspaper of being a virtual mouthpiece for the radical left Democratic Party.
00:04:50.700 President Trump said they gave Kamala Harris the single largest illegal campaign contribution ever.
00:04:56.640 I guess we would have expected a Marxist Dem judge to deny the lawsuit.
00:05:00.760 But we've got rhino judges, too, I guess.
00:05:03.720 Folks, please be sure to join us each and every day for The Great America Show, 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
