The Great America Show - Mid-Day Update： September 23, 2024

The U.S. is sending troops to the Middle East in response to the surge in violence between Israel and Hezbollah, and as the region teeters on the edge of an all-out war, the Pentagon announced on Monday that additional enforcements would be deployed to join the 40,000 already stationed in the region.

00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Monday,

00:00:04.020 September 23rd.

00:00:05.140 We hope you all had a great weekend.

00:00:07.340 The U.S. has announced it's sending troops to the Middle East and warns Americans to

00:00:11.260 leave Lebanon ASAP. 0.98

00:00:13.180 The U.S. is sending troops to the Middle East in response to the surge in violence between

00:00:16.760 Israel and Hezbollah and as the region teeters on the edge of an all-out war.

00:00:21.680 The Pentagon announcing on Monday that additional enforcements would be deployed to join the

00:00:26.140 40,000 already stationed in that region.

00:00:28.320 Israel has ramped up their airstrikes deep inside Lebanon and the State Department has

00:00:32.700 warned that all Americans to leave as the risk of conflict spirals to levels not seen in years.

00:00:38.600 Tensions have reached boiling points in the last seven days and started to deteriorate

00:00:42.700 when pagers and walkie-talkies owned by members of Hezbollah exploded in a coordinated attack

00:00:48.280 last week.

00:00:49.780 Airstrikes by the Israeli military on Monday killed at least 100 people and injured another

00:00:54.140 400 in Lebanon as the IDF warplanes pummeled targets across the country.

00:00:59.400 New polling out from the New York Times and Siena has more good news for President Trump.

00:01:04.140 Donald Trump is growing his lead over Kamala Harris in Arizona and is still ahead in the

00:01:08.360 battleground states of North Carolina in Georgia.

00:01:10.520 In perhaps the most troubling news for Kamala Harris, Arizona, which President Biden won by

00:01:15.660 just over 10,000 votes in 2020, shows Trump ahead by 50% to 45%, the poll found.

00:01:22.500 Comparing that to the same pollster's findings in August, which had Harris leading by five

00:01:27.060 percentage points.

00:01:28.300 She's in deep trouble, I'd say.

00:01:30.060 And in North Carolina, which Trump won by just under 75,000 votes in 2020, he holds a lead

00:01:35.380 of 49 to 47, according to the Times poll.

00:01:38.660 And over in Georgia, which President Biden won by just under 12,000 votes in 2020, and

00:01:43.840 we say won with air quotes, along with Arizona, of course, Trump still has a slight lead, 49

00:01:48.740 to 45, the poll finds.

00:01:51.140 Trump polling ahead in all of these key battleground states just in time for the election.

00:01:56.440 The New York Times and Siena poll also showed that voters across the Sun Belt say their lives

00:02:01.140 improved when President Trump was in the White House.

00:02:03.320 I think that goes without saying.

00:02:05.580 The latest survey has further evidenced that the 2024 election could be one of the closest

00:02:09.360 in history in a very divided nation.

00:02:12.720 Folks, I don't even want to think about the prospect of President Trump not winning this

00:02:16.500 election.
