00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Tuesday, September 23rd.
00:00:05.540 Big news today out of a Florida courtroom. After a two-week trial, Florida jurors reached a verdict in the federal case against Ryan Ruth.
00:00:13.200 Ryan Ruth was the would-be Trump assassin who showed up at the golf course of President Trump in Palm Beach
00:00:17.740 and poked his gun through the fence, hoping to try to take out President Trump.
00:00:21.920 Thank God for Secret Service not able to do so.
00:00:25.800 He was found guilty on all five counts, including attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate,
00:00:32.100 assaulting a federal officer, and other gun charges.
00:00:34.760 As the verdict was read aloud, Ruth, who's 59 years old, tried to stab himself in the neck with a pen,
00:00:40.340 trying to commit suicide to avoid spending the rest of his life in prison, where he's going to. 0.99
00:00:46.160 And he's going to rot in hell while he's there. 0.99
00:00:48.500 And President Trump is up in New York today, issuing a blockbuster speech at the United Nations General Assembly. 0.98
00:00:55.800 Building on the escalator and teleprompter failures, President Trump showed up at the United Nations this afternoon,
00:01:01.920 went to go get on an escalator to go up to the General Assembly, took two steps, the escalator broke down,
00:01:08.100 he then gets up, walks up those escalator stairs, gets up to the United Nations to address the General Assembly,
00:01:13.140 and boom, the teleprompter goes down.
00:01:15.400 Sure, just an accident, but nonetheless, the United Nations, just a massive, massive failure.
00:01:21.980 After participating in that UNGA, the General Assembly,
00:01:26.020 President Trump had a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders,
00:01:28.860 including an encounter with Ukraine's Vladimir Zelensky.
00:01:33.240 The meeting is surely to evolve around Zelensky trying to get concessions from President Trump,
00:01:37.860 whether it be funding or authorization to buy weapons,
00:01:40.760 or an attempt to get the United States to react to the endless series of events
00:01:45.080 that have been happening over the last few days.
00:01:47.580 During his meeting with Zelensky, President Trump was asked
00:01:51.420 if NATO countries should shoot down Russian planes that are invading their airspace.
00:01:56.860 Take a listen to his response.
00:01:58.740 Do you think that NATO countries should shoot down Russian aircraft if they enter their airspace?
00:02:04.980 Yes, I do.
00:02:05.560 That's some news for you today out of there.
00:02:08.240 Now, the most recent incident was that allegedly Russia violated Estonia's airspace.
00:02:14.920 Moscow insists the planes flew over international waters in the Baltic Sea.
00:02:18.800 Oslo and Copenhagen airports yesterday stopped by a massive drone or drones,
00:02:23.080 a lot of fingers being, again, pointed at Russia,
00:02:25.900 with no substantial evidence there as to who they were or who was flying them.
00:02:31.180 President Trump telling Chuck Schumer this afternoon and Hakeem Jeffries to go pound sand
00:02:37.080 after they're begging for a meeting while trying to shut down the government at the same time.
00:02:42.460 President Trump wants nothing to do with their demands that they think they're going to get.
00:02:48.560 President Trump writing on Truth Social,
00:02:50.020 Now, of course, the Marxist Democrats,
00:03:18.460 they want their trillions of dollars of wasteful spending for transgender surgery for minors 0.99
00:03:24.180 or dead people on Medicaid or allowing illegal aliens to steal billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded benefits.
00:03:32.380 Or you go down the list of what the Democrats stand for.
00:03:35.800 President Trump says he doesn't stand for it,
00:03:37.660 and he's not going to allow America to stand for it.
00:03:40.360 Great on President Trump to not give them some sort of platform
00:03:44.780 for them to come and do their charades at the White House.
00:03:47.400 Breaking news out of the big tech and big media sphere,
00:03:52.160 YouTube has capitulated.
00:03:54.060 They've announced today they will reinstate accounts banned for election and COVID-19 violations.
00:04:00.480 Congressman Jim Jordan, who sits in the House Judiciary Committee,
00:04:03.000 he's actually the chairman,
00:04:04.460 announced the capitulation for their draconian censorship rules over the past few years
00:04:10.560 and has vowed to reinstate these accounts.
00:04:12.860 This is just a series of events now as these CEOs are being demanded
00:04:16.940 to come testify before Congress to answer as to what they've been doing.
00:04:22.100 And speaking of broadcast and media,
00:04:24.600 I'm sure you've all heard the news by now that Jimmy Kimmel is coming back to late-night TV,
00:04:29.360 but there's a little bit of a problem.
00:04:32.760 Nextar Media Group has joined Sinclair Broadcast Group
00:04:35.700 and announced it will not air Jimmy Kimmel live after ABC, of course, caved.
00:04:40.960 Now, you may say, what's the big deal that they won't air them?
00:04:44.420 Well, I'll tell you what the big deal is.
00:04:45.760 Nextar owns 32 ABC affiliate stations,
00:04:48.600 and Sinclair operates about 30 of them.
00:04:51.760 So, that might be a little bit of an issue
00:04:54.220 for good old Jimmy Kimmel,
00:04:56.860 who spews his lies and hate on his low-rated television show.
00:05:01.120 So, sorry, Jimmy, Americans are tired of it.
00:05:03.960 Not going to put up with it much longer.
00:05:06.040 Although, ABC and Disney and Bob Iger may cave.
00:05:11.420 Sinclair and Nextar will not.
00:05:14.040 Folks, please be sure to join us tonight, 6 p.m. Eastern time,
00:05:16.480 for The Great America Show.
00:05:17.280 We're going to be joined by Rasmussen Reports,
00:05:19.500 Mark Mitchell, one of the preeminent pollsters of this country.
00:05:22.980 We take up all his latest polling.
00:05:25.420 And what Americans and what the voters are saying
00:05:27.480 about the assassination of Charlie Kirk,
00:05:29.720 are they saying it's justified or not justified?
00:05:33.820 And who do they believe is perpetrating more hate
00:05:37.400 and divide in this country?
00:05:38.540 The left or the right?
00:05:39.660 That's all tonight on The Great America Show,
00:05:41.420 6 p.m. Eastern time, folks.
00:05:43.020 Be sure to join us there.
00:05:44.020 Rumble, YouTube, Twitter, wherever you join us.
00:05:45.880 I'm John Fawcett with this Midday Update.
00:05:47.700 Have a great day, everybody.
