00:01:14.920
Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs. Welcome to The Great America Show. Thank you for being
00:01:22.480
with us. The compromised, impaired puppet president, Joe Biden, spent his weekend at his vacation
00:01:28.840
home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, while the war in the Middle East shows no signs of stopping
00:01:34.820
or markets, for that matter, strengthening. Biden is coming up on his 400th vacation day
00:01:41.320
while in office. And he was asked by a reporter what he was doing exactly about the American
00:01:46.640
hostages who are being held by Hamas terrorists, to which he only smiled vacuously, waved and then
00:01:54.040
walked away, slowly and carefully. While Biden enjoyed his weekend, FBI Director Christopher Wray and
00:02:01.640
intel leaders from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, well, they showed up
00:02:07.840
over its 60 minutes to warn us all about the Chinese threats that the United States and the world face,
00:02:14.160
as if the intel directors had just discovered that long-standing reality. Wray didn't even mention
00:02:21.200
Biden's wide open southern border and the hundreds of terrorists who've been caught crossing into the
00:02:27.040
United States, nor any update on what the FBI is doing exactly to meet those threats. Wray says the FBI
00:02:35.400
currently has over 2,000 active investigations into the Communist Chinese Party's theft of intellectual
00:02:42.220
property in this country. The People's Republic of China represents the defining threat of this
00:02:48.880
generation in this era. There is no country that presents a broader, more comprehensive threat to
00:02:54.380
our ideas, our innovation, our economic security, and ultimately our national security. We have seen
00:03:01.740
efforts by the Chinese government, directly or indirectly, trying to steal intellectual property,
00:03:08.060
trade secrets, personal data, all across the country. We're talking everything from Fortune 100
00:03:13.960
companies all to smart startups. We're talking about agriculture, biotech, healthcare, robotics,
00:03:19.280
aviation, academic research. We probably have somewhere in the order of 2,000 active investigations
00:03:26.320
that are just related to the Chinese government's effort to steal information.
00:03:32.260
So just exactly what are Joe Biden and Chris Wray doing to stop China? You know, the funny thing is,
00:03:38.940
Wray didn't say. But he did seem to say, are you ready? You remember, see something, say something.
00:03:46.740
That's the best I could figure. Also over the weekend, President Trump demanding that Marxist DC
00:03:52.360
Judge Tanya Chutkin lift the gag order she imposed on him at the request of Junkyard Special Counsel Jack
00:03:59.860
Smith. Trump's legal team says Smith provided no evidence that any of Trump's comments about the
00:04:05.820
special counsel have led to any threats to the special counsel. Chutkin gave Smith until the 25th of
00:04:12.480
this month to file any opposition. And in a New York courtroom, Judge Arthur Ingeron, the Marxist
00:04:19.300
Demm presiding over the Trump business civil case presiding, quite a fellow he is too, he threatened
00:04:25.900
to throw President Trump in jail for failing to delete an old social media post. This is the same
00:04:31.900
fellow who did impose another gag order on President Trump. Judge Ingeron said, quote,
00:04:38.660
Incendiary untruths can and have led to serious physical harm. I will now allow the defendant to
00:04:45.840
explain why this should not end up with serious sanctions or I could possibly imprison him.
00:04:52.580
End quote. Imprison him. Who does this fool think he is? The judge obviously thinks he's in the Soviet
00:05:00.220
Union circa 1980. He sounds like a crazed commissar. And over on Capitol Hill, the search to find a new
00:05:08.060
speaker is still underway. And rhino Tom Emmer got off to a head start when he called President Trump over
00:05:15.620
the weekend looking for his support. President Trump was asked yesterday if he'll be supporting
00:05:24.360
Did you endorse Tom Emmer for speaker? He hasn't been his work with being the biggest fan, but he is the most
00:05:30.300
likely candidate right now. Well, I think he's my biggest fan now because he told me yesterday and he told me
00:05:34.800
I'm your biggest fan. So I don't know about that. Well, we're looking at a lot of people and, you know,
00:05:40.360
I'm sort of trying to stay out of that as much as possible, but they'll get it straightened out.
00:05:45.320
But, you know, I've always gotten along with him and I get along with all of them. A lot of good
00:05:49.620
people. We have a lot of great people. I hope President Trump will endorse only an America
00:05:54.640
First candidate, if one at all. Our guest today is Congresswoman Harriet Hageman. She represents
00:06:01.380
Wyoming. She is an extraordinary Republican leader. The congresswoman right in the middle of the
00:06:06.900
unprecedented speaker process or mess, if you prefer, whatever you want to call it.
00:06:12.260
Welcome back, Congresswoman, and always great to see you and to have you on the show,
00:06:16.260
particularly at this time. Give us your sense of what the Republican conference is doing now.
00:06:21.560
Secret meetings, secret votes. Jim Jordan, 200 votes this close to being speaker and then knifed in the
00:06:29.500
back. A great American betrayed. Your thoughts about it all. First of all, Lou, thank you for letting me
00:06:35.720
come on with you. I always enjoy our conversations. I want your speakers to know that I supported Jim
00:06:41.720
Jordan wholeheartedly. I think that he would have been a phenomenal speaker and he was the right man
00:06:47.220
at this point in time. I've worked with him on judiciary and the weaponization committee.
00:06:52.360
I've known him for a couple of years. I have great respect for him and I'm extremely disappointed
00:06:56.840
as to what happened. I also was able to go home to Wyoming this weekend for about 24 hours was all,
00:07:03.380
but I at least got on the ground and was able to talk to the folks in Wyoming. I think I, like so
00:07:08.060
many people, are hearing about the frustration that people have with the Republicans in Congress
00:07:12.940
right now. I'm going to push back on that just a little bit because I have somewhat of a different
00:07:17.420
perspective. We're in this situation not because of the Republican conference, but because a very
00:07:22.720
small number of Republicans joined with the Democrats and basically instituted a coup against our
00:07:29.220
speaker, Kevin McCarthy. So keep in mind, it was eight, it was eight Republicans, which is 4% of our
00:07:35.280
conference and 100% of the Democrats that took out the speaker of the House of Representatives. So I'm not
00:07:42.240
going to put the blame for this on the Republicans. As far as where we are now, now we need to move forward.
00:07:47.680
And I will tell you that I think part of the reason that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats did what they did
00:07:52.500
is because we were getting some extremely effective legislation passed through the House. Just three
00:07:57.800
of them I'll talk about. H.R. 1, H.R. 2, and H.R. 5. H.R. 1, energy security. H.R. 2, border security. H.R. 5,
00:08:08.640
parents' bill of rights. The thing is, we got three of those three bills through the Republican
00:08:13.300
conference, not only with votes from Harriet Hageman from Wyoming, a strong conservative,
00:08:17.840
but you're more moderate members from New York. We all came together and voted on those bills
00:08:22.840
because they were good conservative policy for the American public. So right now we're dealing
00:08:28.400
with the situation where we need to pick a speaker. I remain optimistic that over the next couple of
00:08:33.780
days we will be able to do that. But this situation definitely threw us into disarray, which is exactly
00:08:40.100
what the Democrats wanted to do. Well, I don't think anyone could argue with the math,
00:08:44.280
if you will, the history is somewhat, you know, I think more difficult. And that is Kevin McCarthy
00:08:55.680
was not keeping promises in terms of the debt ceiling. He was not moving as the conference wanted
00:09:02.940
much of the conference. I can't say the majority of the conference, but much of the conference wanted
00:09:07.640
in appropriation, separate bills, single subject, and really honoring his commitment to the
00:09:14.260
independence of the independence of the chairman and the democratization, if you will, for
00:09:20.180
amendments. It's, you know, better than me, what all was involved. So there were some atmospherics for
00:09:26.700
which he was indeed, I think at least, and this is where we can keep arguing about. But I think he
00:09:33.040
had set the tone that ultimately led to this, gave an opportunity. It'll be interesting to see how
00:09:41.320
history writes it, and I suspect it'll be very close to your analysis. Let's turn to, though,
00:09:48.400
what this process is right now. And that is, what's followed is after three rounds,
00:09:56.040
Jim Jordan gets a knife in the back. More than 100 people in the conference who, ostensibly many of
00:10:01.980
whom at least, had voted for Jim Jordan suddenly in private. The second most popular man in the
00:10:08.340
Republican Party is, when it's a public vote, he's got 200 votes and should have had all of them,
00:10:14.100
as far as I'm concerned. They go to the private, they go to a secret vote, and suddenly he can only
00:10:21.260
muster 86 votes. I mean, something's rotten in that. And I think that the conference has to,
00:10:28.420
I think the conference has really set the, the leadership, at least of the conference,
00:10:33.540
has set a tone that the American people are really not pleased with, because this looks swampy as it
00:10:39.500
gets. Lou, I don't disagree with you. And I was very surprised at what happened on Friday when that
00:10:46.260
took place. I didn't expect it. Call me naive. Call me someone who actually believes that you're going
00:10:53.160
to keep your word in terms of what you say with supporting somebody and supporting them for the
00:10:58.600
right reasons. Keep in mind that the people who were supporting Jim Jordan came out and did so
00:11:03.540
because he is the leader of the modern conservative movement. He is the face of that. He has been
00:11:08.620
the fighter. He's been the guy in the ring. He's been the one who's been standing on the wall,
00:11:13.600
fighting the issues that are important to so many of us in the conservative movement. So I was surprised
00:11:18.960
by that. Well, I'll tell you what will happen now is we have a, an opportunity for the candidates
00:11:25.000
to give us a presentation and they will be short. I think maybe five minutes, uh, uh, discussions as
00:11:31.540
to why they believe that they ought to be speaker. Now that's not all the information we're getting.
00:11:35.780
And you're probably seeing some of the materials as well. They're sending out letters. They're
00:11:39.780
sending out information about their background, what they're doing, what their vision is.
00:11:43.820
I think we have some excellent candidates. That's the thing is that we have an extremely deep bench
00:11:49.140
in the Republican party, in the United States house of representatives. So I'm very confident that
00:11:54.920
we're going to get somebody in place that is really good. But one of the problems you have
00:11:59.480
with Republicans is the fact that we do not all dance to the same drummer. The Democrats are able
00:12:05.360
to get their conference to all or all row in the exact same direction because they're much more
00:12:11.360
lemming-like than we are. That's one of the big differences between Republicans and Democrats.
00:12:15.920
We're independent. We're, we're, we're free thinkers. We do not allow someone just to dictate
00:12:20.380
what we have to do. And so this has been a kind of a painful situation. Again, I think we're going
00:12:26.260
to get back on track. There are some folks, I'm not going to say exactly who I think I might be
00:12:30.640
supporting. I haven't even made that decision yet. I am keeping my powder dry until we have the forum
00:12:36.860
this evening. I will make a decision and I will publicly support that person. And as we come to the
00:12:41.840
floor, I am going to support the Republican candidate who can get 217 votes because we need to get back to
00:12:48.440
governing. Unity is important and coming together as a conference. But given the circumstances,
00:12:56.780
why in the world would not someone in the conference say, bring back Jim Jordan? Because
00:13:00.980
what we've done is dirty and it is absolutely a travesty. There, I mean, there, there's no rolling
00:13:08.600
back secret vote, secret conference meetings, and then proceed with a secret conference for new
00:13:21.100
nominees and then a vote. And then is the, is the, the loyalty oath, is that in place? Will everybody
00:13:29.080
vote for whoever it is, no matter what? I don't know that people are going to, to step up and do
00:13:35.220
loyalty oaths. Again, I think that that's kind of contrary. Our loyalty is to our constitution
00:13:40.500
and that's the oath that I took. Uh, and that, that, so I think that there are some of us that
00:13:46.620
are kind of leery of those kinds of things. I don't tend to, to sign oaths. I don't think that's the way
00:13:51.540
to go. Uh, I understand what you're saying about Jim Jordan. And one of my concerns is, is that we've
00:13:57.440
done some real damage to relationships in this conference. I think the next speaker is going to have
00:14:02.300
to find a way to bring all of us back together so that we can move forward with what is really our
00:14:07.860
agenda, which is blocking the radical Biden agenda, uh, close our borders, address the inflation,
00:14:14.060
all the things that are important to the American public. We need to get back to work.
00:14:18.860
Absolutely. And we're going to, uh, take a quick pause here. We're talking
00:14:23.420
with Congresswoman Harriet Hageman. We're talking, we're talking politics. Stay with us. We'll be right back.
00:14:32.300
We're back now with Congresswoman Hageman. And I w I want to turn as a member of the judiciary
00:14:41.580
committee, you work with Jim Jordan. Uh, he chairs the judiciary committee. Uh, how would you feel if
00:14:48.560
you were in his position? I know this is a strange question, but I have to ask it of you. Uh, how would
00:14:54.880
you feel if you were in his position? Uh, because this is really a, a dirty deal on the part of, uh,
00:15:02.780
a handful of very powerful, uh, uh, congressmen. Uh, but, uh, nonetheless, this is, this is swamp stuff.
00:15:14.460
Ideas. And I've even used that terminology, Lou. I, when somebody talked to me about what it is that
00:15:19.740
I'm going to do over the next couple of days, I said, you know, I'm going to play my, keep my cards
00:15:24.380
kind of close to my vest because I'm feeling a bit snake bit right now. And I am, um, I will say
00:15:31.060
that what happened on Friday evening with Jim Jordan, when he got up and spoke after the decision
00:15:36.380
was made to no longer have him as our speaker designate, uh, my respect for him increased
00:15:42.460
twofold, threefold, fivefold, the speech that he gave and the statements that he made to all of us
00:15:48.680
was that first step to, to bring this conference back together and focus all of us on the important
00:15:54.720
issues at hand. He said, I I'm very happy to go back to what I was doing. I enjoy being the chairman
00:16:01.580
of the judiciary committee and working and doing what we're doing, which is to expose what's been
00:16:06.760
going on with the FBI and the department of justice and the FTC and the, uh, with, with secretary
00:16:14.600
Mayorkas and the Biden crime family, again, to use that terminology, he said, I'm happy to go back and
00:16:20.280
do that. And that's one of the things that Jim Jordan has been so phenomenal about. He is an asset
00:16:25.680
to the United States of America and to the Republican Congress, uh, like very few have been, he's going to
00:16:32.280
go down in history as one of the greats. I know that he knows that just from the standpoint of the,
00:16:37.760
of the well wishes that have been sent out to him and how people have responded to him. So what I'll
00:16:42.740
say is he did a phenomenal job of beginning the process of bringing us back together. I'm going to
00:16:47.600
work hard with him on that judiciary committee to hold people accountable for the things that have
00:16:52.040
been going on in this country. And I know that Jim Jordan is going to continue to lead us because he is
00:16:56.880
a leader. No question whatsoever about who he is and his integrity. And it's, it's remarkable that the
00:17:04.680
conference would turn their back on him, given everything that you've just said about it, which so many
00:17:09.680
of us share. Uh, I just don't know how we go from a Jordan to, uh, an Emmer, a Hearn, uh, whomever it would be,
00:17:20.360
uh, because what there are two people in the conference who have, uh, significantly higher in
00:17:28.900
the, uh, list of nine who have significantly high ratings from Liberty ratings. Uh, it's just,
00:17:36.880
I just don't know how to get past the stench of this thing. Can you, and I, and I know that we all
00:17:42.620
want to, but I'm having a heck of a time. And because you know what, I know the listeners of this
00:17:48.440
podcast, uh, the listeners on my radio show, they are not happy, uh, to put it straightforwardly.
00:17:56.960
And, and I think the Republican party has taken one step too far in turning their backs on the
00:18:02.900
voters that they represent. So Lou, you've been around for a long time. And I think that you saw
00:18:09.380
something in this that surprised even you. And I haven't been around as long and it surprised me,
00:18:14.240
but what, what I will say is it isn't the Republican party that did this. It's a very small number of
00:18:21.340
people who did this. The vast majority of the Republicans in our conference, again, are focused
00:18:28.080
on fixing the problems of this country and of moving forward. And so while this entire process
00:18:35.340
was messy and didn't, didn't look very good from the outside, this is the first time like that
00:18:40.860
anything like this has ever happened in the history of this country. I keep saying, I'm going
00:18:44.920
to get a t-shirt that says, I'm tired of making history. Um, after what we've been through these
00:18:50.080
years and for the speaker and other things we have dealt, we have dealt with, and we are dealing with
00:18:56.480
something that was kind of, what do we do now? Because nobody knew. And so I'm going to, I'm going to
00:19:03.560
defend the folks a little bit by just simply saying, we're going to have to move on because the
00:19:09.340
American people need us to move on. Our world is on fire. What has happened in Israel is absolutely
00:19:15.560
beyond the pale. And like your listeners, I wake up in the middle of the night, every single night
00:19:19.940
since that happened and pray for it and think about the, what is happening in the, in the Middle East
00:19:25.520
and trying to find a resolution that is just not total conflagration. There are so many big issues
00:19:31.480
out there that if we're not capable of stepping up, dusting ourselves off and getting back to work,
00:19:36.480
even if we may have taken one to the chin, then we're not, we're not cut out for this business.
00:19:41.180
And we have got to step up and do it because the American people are demanding it. The world situation
00:19:46.920
is demanding it. And so now we have to move on. We've got to get a good speaker and we've got a couple
00:19:51.720
of ones that are just absolutely excellent candidates. I know if they take that helm, we will be well served.
00:19:57.780
Well, that's encouraging and it's positive. And I appreciate that. I'm sure that our listeners do.
00:20:03.060
I, when I look at the conflagration though, I see much of the conflict conflagration in the nation's
00:20:10.840
capital. And I mean, we've got a corrupt president, an impaired president, a man so compromised that he
00:20:19.680
sold off half of the strategic petroleum reserves. He's in all too frequent communication with the
00:20:26.500
people's Republic of China. He is ostensibly pro-Israel, but he is making moves, strategic moves
00:20:36.640
that are pro-Arab, pro-Muslim. And by the way, nothing against Muslims, nothing against Arabs.
00:20:42.960
You know, I, I love everybody, but we have, we have a phony and a half in the white house who's under
00:20:50.500
the control of someone else. And we have to be honest about that. We have a foreign policy team
00:20:55.660
that is capable of, of screwing up a vacant lot. And they have done so frequently over the course
00:21:00.960
of their time in the Biden regime. This is not a time for any of us to be at ease or settled
00:21:06.960
about our prospects here as we face so many crises, $3 trillion. I mean, I can go through this list,
00:21:13.500
but what I can't go through is what have the Republicans done to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas,
00:21:20.100
who has turned over the Southern border to the cartels, the Mexican drug cartels. Not one Republican
00:21:26.680
has even come up and said, let's subpoena him. And I'm talking about the Judiciary Committee. I'm
00:21:32.600
talking about the Oversight Committee. God bless everything you guys are doing. The four investigating,
00:21:38.440
well, three investigating committees in the subcommittee, weaponization. But my God,
00:21:43.720
all that's required here, you as an attorney, a distinguished attorney, no, this is simply a
00:21:51.380
charge. It isn't a trial yet. That's for the Senate. You don't have to produce a certain weight of
00:21:58.100
evidence. You have to produce the obvious evidence, which is staring at all of us. The Republicans are not
00:22:06.120
showering themselves here with glory. Well, and Lou, I don't disagree with you,
00:22:11.240
except for a couple of things. Okay. Everything that you have laid out there is exactly why the
00:22:16.620
Democrats wanted to behead the Republican Party. That's why they did what they did. That is why they
00:22:22.060
took out Kevin McCarthy. Whether you like him or not, we are now three weeks into chaos because we
00:22:27.520
don't have a Speaker of the House. That is exactly what they intended to do when they voted with those
00:22:32.500
eight Republicans to do what they did with the motion to vacate. Now, as far as the impeachment,
00:22:37.720
where I will say we absolutely, our jury, Lou, is the American public. We absolutely have to be able
00:22:45.020
to show the case or they're not going to take this up. And the Senate isn't going to take this up.
00:22:50.160
Keep that in mind. What we show in terms of how badly these guys have done their job and how they
00:22:56.280
have compromised the security of the United States of America, we are going to have to present
00:23:02.200
that evidence in the House because the Senate is never going to take it up. The only people who
00:23:06.600
are going to be able to expose this is us. Now, we have brought in Mayorkas. I don't know if you
00:23:11.140
saw that hearing, but I ripped into him and did others. So we are attempting to do that. But again,
00:23:16.120
we've been at a standstill for three weeks now. And that public opinion, that court of public opinion
00:23:22.700
is all I can say is I understand the process. I understand the constitutional relationships
00:23:30.520
and the importance of of the Senate's role and why without the Senate, it doesn't go further.
00:23:39.140
But this will be judged by history. It will be judged by just about 170 million voters in 2024.
00:23:46.720
I don't see how we the Republican Party gets to 2024 acting the way it has. We're now we're now
00:23:54.220
approaching the 11th month of the 118th Congress and nothing of concrete measure has been accomplished.
00:24:03.120
And that is a shame. And we we need desperately something and in straight order. We're talking
00:24:12.180
with Representative Harriet Hageman. And we will be right back in one moment with her answers and
00:24:18.620
views solely as we continue on The Great America Show. We'll be right back.
00:24:29.020
We're back now with Congresswoman Hageman. And I have to say, I've laid out what I see is the
00:24:35.120
situation. It to me is dire, I think, to the American people, at least most of them.
00:24:41.200
They're they're facing runaway inflation. They were looking at eight percent interest rates for
00:24:46.100
mortgages. And there is very little that you're going to be able to rely on rely upon as the
00:24:51.980
opposition party in the way of the national media, which is itself politically corrupt and tools of
00:24:57.980
the establishment, the corporatist oligarchs who who command our national principally about 90 percent of
00:25:06.520
the national media. So it seems to me that this is a matter of absolute urgency, crisis for the
00:25:15.000
Republican Party to put something forward from each of those investigating committees forthwith.
00:25:19.740
Your thoughts, Lou, you are absolutely correct. And I'm going to tell you something to make a promise
00:25:25.260
right now. When I have an opportunity to visit with folks tonight, I'm going to send your message
00:25:29.900
loud and clear. And at every opportunity that I have in talking to my fellow Republicans,
00:25:35.560
I'm going to explain that this is the message that we are getting on the street. This is the message
00:25:40.780
that people in Wyoming, that in Nebraska, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, it doesn't matter where it is.
00:25:46.460
This is exactly the message. This is the concern that all of our fellow Republicans have had.
00:25:53.360
What is it that we are doing? What is it that we are doing for the American public? Well,
00:25:57.880
here's a couple of things. We have passed four of the 12 appropriations bills, and they are sitting
00:26:04.040
on the desk in the Senate. Those four bills fund approximately 70 percent of the discretionary
00:26:10.780
spending in Congress. So what have we done? We've done that. Senate won't take them up. So
00:26:16.980
that's the Democrat-controlled Senate. So when we talk about continuing resolutions and we talk about
00:26:22.680
what we're going to do with funding the government and the appropriations bills, hopefully this week we're
00:26:27.080
going to be taking up two more appropriations bills if we can get a speaker in place. Two more
00:26:31.560
next week. That gets us to eight of the 12 that we will have done. But again, the Senate isn't doing
00:26:37.960
their job. We are. And here's the thing about those bills that I want you to understand, Lou,
00:26:43.020
that is really good. I'll just use the NDAA as an example, the National Defense Authorization Act.
00:26:48.820
What we did, and it was Jim Banks and a few other people who understand very well,
00:26:53.560
they went in and they stripped out every woke thing you can think of from the military.
00:26:59.640
No more ESG. No more funding of traveling for abortions. All of the things that all of us,
00:27:05.080
no more money for drag queen story hour. All of that stuff has been stripped out of these bills.
00:27:10.620
These are good conservative bills that actually cut spending. And they are, again, four of them,
00:27:16.760
the four of them are sitting on the desk in the Senate. So that's one of the things that we've done.
00:27:21.240
We also have Jamie Comer on oversight is moving forward with getting more and more and more of
00:27:26.820
these bank records out demonstrating. We just got the bank records in the last couple of weeks
00:27:31.280
demonstrating that the Biden crime family was alive and well over the last 20 years.
00:27:37.500
The corruption, the graft, the amount of money that was going to James Biden and then to Joe Biden and
00:27:42.280
going to Hunter Biden and then to Joe Biden. We're putting all of this case together. And I will assure
00:27:47.320
you that as we do move forward, we're going to be able to establish for the American public that yes,
00:27:53.280
the Bidens have been corrupt for decades and we've got to take them out of power. The border crisis
00:27:59.360
situation that is coming to a head. We have HR2 that we've already passed. It's the very best border
00:28:05.720
security bill that has ever been passed out of Congress. That's sitting on the desk in the Senate
00:28:10.800
controlled or in the in the Democrat controlled Senate. So there are bills. There are things that
00:28:16.440
we have been doing. This last thing that happened three weeks ago has kind of overshadowed that. But
00:28:22.060
I can tell you there are many of us in the Republican conference that are working hard to address the
00:28:26.920
issues that are important to the American public. So, Congresswoman, as as you are going through
00:28:32.800
this. And I think, as always, your your perspective, your analysis is 100 percent. I I hope that the
00:28:41.860
conference is listening to you and I hope the conference can can measure up to the quality,
00:28:48.180
if you will, of your positions and your outlook. I don't know what happens from here. You talked
00:28:55.940
about a number of those in the nine who could who could run the conference, maybe Speaker of the House,
00:29:02.800
the third most important job in the country. And the American people will still, at the end of the
00:29:09.140
day, not know who they are, how they got there. And there is it's going to be a very difficult moment.
00:29:17.040
And I just want to, as we wrap up here with your I always give you the last word here,
00:29:21.480
how we go from here, how the Republican Party comes out of this stronger and and and wins in 2024.
00:29:33.880
Lou, one of the reasons I enjoy coming on to your program is because you are the voice of the
00:29:39.860
American people and you ask the questions that they want to ask, but they don't always have access
00:29:45.040
to be able to us to be able to do that. And that's what you've done today. You've asked me some very
00:29:50.740
fundamental, foundational questions that need to be responded to before we can get the confidence
00:29:56.340
of the American public back and that they will be willing to give us or at least allow us to retain
00:30:01.880
the authority that we need to in the House of Representatives to stop this radical Biden agenda.
00:30:07.340
So, again, what I can tell you is that I think this entire process and what we're seeing isn't a good
00:30:15.560
process. I don't disagree with you on that at all. What I can do is I'll tell you that I'm going to go
00:30:21.560
and I'm going to talk to the people this afternoon and tonight and say, how do we make sure that we have
00:30:25.700
the transparency and the accountability that the American public is demanding to know that whomever
00:30:31.120
we pick is actually the constitutionalist that we need at this moment in time, is actually the person
00:30:36.840
who is going to pursue the conservative agenda that is going to save this country and frankly,
00:30:41.700
help us to address all of the incredible issues around the world. We need to have the transparency
00:30:48.160
and accountability. I will commit to doing whatever I can to get that put in place.
00:30:53.580
Congresswoman, as always, we appreciate you being with us. We thank you for all that you're doing
00:30:59.720
