00:00:33.660 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs. Welcome to the Great America Sunday Show.
00:00:38.120 Thanks for being with us.
00:00:39.760 Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has announced his departure.
00:00:42.840 So the hunt for a new Senate Minority Leader is on, and President Trump reportedly has his preference.
00:00:49.820 It's Montana Senator Steve Daines.
00:00:52.480 Daines is currently the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
00:00:57.200 So far, there's only one senator who's declared for the job, and that's Rhino-Texas Senator John Cornyn.
00:01:03.280 And to that, I just say, hell no. I mean, that's ridiculous.
00:01:07.060 Other senators reportedly gunning for the position.
00:01:09.880 Senators Rick Scott, John Thune, and John Barrasso.
00:01:13.980 I think the Republicans really need to think this one out long and hard before putting someone in the post who will be anti-America first.
00:01:23.380 Our first guest is conservative activist Scott Pressler.
00:01:26.640 Scott, great to have you with us on the Great America Show.
00:01:29.620 I hear there's no one in the Republican Party working harder than you to get the vote out.
00:01:34.320 Thank you. Well, this weekend I was at the Fairmont West Virginia Gun Show.
00:01:39.780 I do want to give a shout-out to Annette, who is the owner of the Showmasters Gun Show, which is in four states in the country.
00:01:48.320 And she has very kindly given us permission to register voters at every one of her gun shows.
00:01:55.060 So, Annette, if you're listening to Luda, thank you.
00:01:57.360 And I'm currently on the way to Pennsylvania, where I'll be for the next two weeks.
00:02:02.840 Great. I want to be sure that we get the name of the gun show and the owner out there so that folks can give her proper credit.
00:02:13.700 Could you repeat that?
00:02:14.720 Yes. Her name is Annette with the Showmasters Gun Show, and she's in Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Virginia.
00:02:28.900 Terrific. All right. And it's good of you to give her a shout-out.
00:02:33.760 I mean, that's a great idea.
00:02:37.320 I love gun shows, by the way. I don't know about you, but I love gun shows.
00:02:41.080 I could spend a lot of time at them if I had enough money to get everything I needed and wanted.
00:02:48.980 So, Scott, let's go to the issue here now before us.
00:02:53.660 We are watching the RNC in the midst of a change.
00:02:58.500 It's almost assured, almost assured, that Watley will be the new chair,
00:03:06.440 and Laura Trump, the co-chair of the RNC.
00:03:11.340 What are your thoughts about the change that will come, apparently, on March 8th of this year?
00:03:18.140 Well, I think people are welcoming the change.
00:03:21.760 I know some people may say that this is chaotic or whatever.
00:03:25.900 But look, sometimes chaos is needed to create positive action.
00:03:30.600 And look at what Chairman Watley has done in North Carolina.
00:03:35.320 And Laura would be a great steward of the financial resources.
00:03:40.900 So, I think that the grassroots are really excited.
00:03:43.860 I mean, my phone has been blowing up with people saying,
00:03:47.280 Scott, how can I volunteer?
00:03:49.100 Scott, what can I do to help the CAS?
00:03:51.460 And I think this is a long time needed.
00:03:53.420 So, if the RNC does have this new change, and if they give me a call,
00:03:59.020 you know, I will do whatever I can to make sure that we have the strongest party apparatus
00:04:03.580 to make sure that Donald Trump is elected this November.
00:04:07.400 You know, you're talking about getting a call from the RNC.
00:04:10.880 You were having a little trouble getting through to Chair Ronna McDaniel, were you?
00:04:17.640 Just a little bit.
00:04:19.300 You know, I tweeted, and I want to make this very clear.
00:04:22.980 I'm here to be complimentary.
00:04:24.660 I'm here to be helpful.
00:04:25.980 And all I did is I tweeted at the chairwoman, offering some very humble suggestions,
00:04:31.420 you know, because I know a thing or two about politics.
00:04:34.120 And when I didn't hear from her, day one, day two,
00:04:37.740 I just started tweeting at her very kindly and with the same message every single day.
00:04:42.560 And it went on for over 300 days.
00:04:46.100 The chairwoman never reached out to me.
00:04:48.320 And that's okay.
00:04:49.200 Because you know what, Lou?
00:04:50.020 I believe in leading by example and that we don't just point the finger, but we go out,
00:04:54.700 boots on the ground, and we do the work that needs to be done.
00:04:58.420 Well, there's a lot of work to be done.
00:05:00.580 And I have not been a fan of Ronna McDaniel for a very long time.
00:05:06.000 I've called for her, ouster for, I'm going to say at least three years now, three or four years.
00:05:13.680 She, anyway, it looks like nature has taken its course and she will be gone.
00:05:20.280 See, you're teaching me about taking the high road.
00:05:23.460 I'm just going to leave it at that.
00:05:26.340 Watley is a controversial choice by the president.
00:05:31.280 I've heard a number of people across the country who have differing views and some support him,
00:05:38.020 some don't like him.
00:05:39.020 He is the general counsel of the RNC.
00:05:42.940 And what do you think about the fact that he is reaching to Watley, who is, if you will,
00:05:49.020 part of the leadership team that has been so abysmal?
00:05:52.660 Well, I will say I did speak with the chairman at the Las Vegas Turning Point Action RNC Summit,
00:06:00.620 which was about restoring national confidence, ironically.
00:06:03.560 And we had a lovely conversation.
00:06:06.520 And I will say, North Carolina is trending to the right in a big way.
00:06:11.780 I mean, they won the Supreme Court, flipping it to a conservative majority.
00:06:16.860 And because the state focused on voter registration, because they focused on flipping that SC,
00:06:24.000 that we now have voter ID laws in North Carolina reinstated, that we now have redrawn the map,
00:06:30.520 and that we have the opportunity, Lou, to pick up four congressional seats this November,
00:06:36.120 which could very well save the House of Representatives and preserve our majority.
00:06:40.680 So for all intents and purposes, I would say that the leadership in North Carolina has done a good
00:06:47.520 job.
00:06:48.220 And I follow their voter registration statistics week by week.
00:06:52.080 And I mean, North Carolina is going to become the new Florida.
00:06:55.900 And so Donald Trump has endorsed his picks, and we are going to support him.
00:07:02.740 He is our eventual nominee.
00:07:04.220 And that's kind of where I stand at this moment.
00:07:07.100 Good.
00:07:08.000 But that really wasn't my question.
00:07:09.880 My question was.
00:07:11.060 Oh, I'm sorry.
00:07:13.360 No, it's politics.
00:07:15.340 The idea that he is part of the establishment team, ensconced in the RNC as the general counsel.
00:07:24.960 He's a member of the losing team over the last three cycles.
00:07:29.300 So why is it he should not be held accountable and Ronna McDaniel be?
00:07:34.660 Well, I guess I would argue that he has had some local success and perhaps the reason that's
00:07:45.980 the reason why he is being picked for that position.
00:07:49.940 And, you know, Lou, as well as I do, I hate to say it, you know, we're not going to always
00:07:54.160 get what we want as a conservative.
00:07:57.520 And so what I think that this is, is this is a reaching across the aisle.
00:08:02.180 I think this is a perhaps placating, pandering to the establishment.
00:08:06.620 So that way, the establishment, quote unquote, wins and gets their half of the battle.
00:08:11.240 And then Laura Trump is the compromise that is the other half of the battle.
00:08:16.040 And that's kind of what I could see as the compromise of the situation.
00:08:20.960 We're talking with Scott Pressler and Scott's talking about compromise.
00:08:25.580 And, you know, I'm big on compromise, folks.
00:08:27.600 So we're going to have some more talk about what compromise means for the Republican Party.
00:08:32.600 Stay with us.
00:08:33.440 We're talking with Scott Pressler.
00:08:36.660 Folks, you know, I beg everyone to get ready for the next crisis.
00:08:40.020 And when it comes, our lives will likely change overnight, whether it's natural disaster,
00:08:45.760 war or another disease.
00:08:47.640 We have to be ready as we can be.
00:08:49.540 We saw what happened in 2020 when we found ourselves dependent on global supply chains.
00:08:54.760 We're still dependent on China and other countries for more than 90 percent of all our pharmaceuticals.
00:09:00.160 With clusters of respiratory illnesses popping up around the world and here, we need to be prepared.
00:09:06.240 And now is the time to make certain you have what your family needs when the next crisis hits.
00:09:11.900 Our good friends, Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Drew Penske over at the Wellness Company have put together just what you and I need with the Wellness Company's medical emergency kit.

00:10:06.840 Prepare today.
00:10:08.160 Be ready tomorrow.
00:10:11.620 We're back.
00:10:12.600 We're talking with Scott Pressler, who is out just working every in which direction to help get President Trump reelected.
00:10:22.920 We're looking at a lot of good numbers on everything.
00:10:26.820 His trajectory is amazing.
00:10:28.560 The first four primaries, he is the runaway.
00:10:32.540 He will be, he is right now, officially, in my judgment, the presumptive nominee.
00:10:39.660 I wonder, though, I'm very troubled about the RNC, to be candid with you, Scott.
00:10:45.640 And, of course, my audience is used to my candor.
00:10:50.080 And, by the way, I'm never going to argue, you know, publicly at least, you know, on the issue of strategy and so forth.
00:10:59.800 But the idea that this RNC has a guy who is a compromise and is the representative of the establishment, you know, I'm uncomfortable with that because, frankly, he has been part of the losses and the horrible performance of this RNC.
00:11:21.440 I mean, look at the money that they've spent millions of dollars on hogwash.
00:11:26.460 The DNC doesn't do that, but the RNC hasn't been prudent, it hasn't been responsible, and it hasn't been effective.
00:11:34.360 And I'm just saying to you that if a man is a general counsel in a corporation, you know, a public corporation, part of a management team, you know, he would be gone.
00:11:44.840 Absolutely gone, because that is rancid corruption on the part of the RNC and mismanagement, and in my opinion, there could be a case for misappropriation of funds.
00:11:56.840 Your thoughts?
00:11:58.400 You know, I'm not here to defend, you know, Chairman Watley, who is the current chair of NC, if he is elected as chairman of the party.
00:12:10.380 You know, we have yet to see him lead in the national position, so I'm not here to defend, but what I will say, I will say.
00:12:21.280 He has been leading in the national position.
00:12:24.440 He has had all of that experience you're talking about, and he is the individual who's been the general counsel.
00:12:30.200 Well, Lou, if you would like to have this conversation, bring it up with President Trump, I am not here speaking on behalf of the president or the RNC.
00:12:36.820 We have what we have.
00:12:40.080 He is the presumptive chairman.
00:12:41.940 Laura Trump is the presumptive incoming chairwoman.
00:12:44.880 We have seven months until the election.
00:12:47.220 We work with what we have.
00:12:49.640 Yeah.
00:12:50.900 I'm not the fellow that does that, though.
00:12:53.100 I've seen a party that has gone to hell in a handbasket since Trump was defeated in the illegitimate election, the rigged election of 2020, and I sure don't want to see a step back, and I sure don't want to see any more corruption within the party itself.
00:13:10.860 I'm not saying that he is corrupt.
00:13:13.440 Let me finish, if I may.
00:13:14.940 I'm not saying that he is corrupt.
00:13:17.720 I'm saying the leadership team has not been successful, and to see anyone held over, particularly the general counsel, given what I have seen in terms of the mismanagement, the general counsel should have been all over that, and he was not.
00:13:31.040 So let's move on, as you suggest, to another subject.
00:13:34.000 Let's go to early voting.
00:13:35.100 That is one of the most controversial issues facing the Republican Party right now, aside from the fact that at this point, we know for a fact there is no ground game.
00:13:45.340 There is no strategy on the part of the RNC.
00:13:47.820 We've seen what that leads to.
00:13:49.760 So let's get to early voting, which has been dominated, obviously, by the Democrats successfully, immensely so.
00:13:56.940 So should the, in your judgment, should the party engage in early voting, or should it try to make certain that early voting in this country disappears, and we go to one-day voting, and we go to, well, paper ballots, and all of the above?
00:14:16.000 Well, I launched my organization, EarlyVoteAction, EarlyVoteAction.com, in response to the abysmal performance of 2022.
00:14:28.140 2022 should have been a red tsunami.
00:14:30.480 It should have been this huge win, but the machines went down on what day in November 2022?
00:14:37.520 On election day.
00:14:38.440 What day did it snow in Nevada, and Adam Laxalt did not win his United States Senate seat in that swing state on election day?
00:14:47.400 On what day did we run out of paper ballots in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, another swing state, on election day?
00:14:56.360 And I hate to say it, but look, we cannot change the system.
00:15:00.000 We cannot provide for one day of voting, no early voting, especially when the states are the ones responsible for passing out legislation, and when we don't control the governorships or state legislatures in Pennsylvania, Michigan, or Wisconsin, for example.
00:15:16.460 And so, therefore, the system is as it is, and we must, therefore, play within the rules of the system.
00:15:22.700 And if we do not engage in ballot harvesting in states where it's legal, like Nevada, I do not envision success.
00:15:30.240 And that's why at EarlyVoteAction.com, we are pushing for an all-of-the-above approach to voting.
00:15:36.000 For example, who are conservative people that are probably going to vote by mail?
00:15:40.900 Police officers, firefighters, truckers, members of our United States military.
00:15:46.120 And so, if we have voices on the right, Lou, that are saying that people shouldn't vote by mail, in my opinion, why would a member of our United States military vote if their only option is by mail, but voices on the right are telling them not to vote by mail?
00:16:03.220 And I just, I want to lock in every vote because I want victory this November.
00:16:07.340 Thanks, Scott Pressler.
00:16:08.520 And coming up next, Congressman Tim Burchett of the great state of Tennessee.
00:16:12.960 He joins us for a conversation always insightful.
00:16:16.380 Stay with us.
00:16:16.980 We'll be right back.
00:16:20.560 Lou Dobbs here.
00:16:21.480 I'm delighted to let you all know that the program Lou Dobbs Tonight has returned to the air.
00:16:27.980 That's right.
00:16:28.760 Lou Dobbs Tonight is back.
00:16:30.840 We're live each and every weeknight at 7 p.m. Eastern and 6 p.m. Central on Rumble.com slash Lou Dobbs.
00:16:40.620 That's Rumble.com slash Lou Dobbs.
00:16:44.040 I hope you'll be joining us for Lou Dobbs Tonight as our fight to save this country has only begun.
00:16:51.060 Thanks for staying with us and joining us now, Congressman Tim Burchett.
00:17:00.280 Congressman, great to have you back with us.
00:17:02.520 Chuck Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader, saying negotiators are very close to a deal.
00:17:08.140 Are you excited?
00:17:09.100 What are your thoughts?
00:17:10.760 Well, I don't know, Lou.
00:17:13.160 You know, we don't have a border, but I'm not voting for a budget.
00:17:16.360 I'll tell you that we've got this is the biggest issue facing our country right now.
00:17:22.100 And it's it's fentanyl.
00:17:24.160 It's four hundred billion dollars a year.
00:17:28.420 It's throwing elections because people are going to use these mail in ballots, I'm afraid, that are coming here illegally because you don't show any ID.
00:17:37.000 And I mean, it and it puts our national security at risk with all these Chinese that are coming over.
00:17:43.160 They're not crossing two or three continents for freedom.
00:17:47.260 They could have stayed somewhere else.
00:17:49.000 There's something really bad and nefarious going on.
00:17:53.040 And I wish I wish the White House and Schumer would would realize that.
00:17:59.900 Well, it's pretty clear that with that private meeting between Speaker Johnson and President Biden, that something may unfold here that that's going to be at least revelatory, if not if not pleasing.
00:18:18.100 What are your thoughts about what the likely outcome is of these negotiations, particularly on the budget?
00:18:23.760 I think I just don't have a lot of faith in in what's going on.
00:18:29.100 They always come out and say we've come to this agreement.
00:18:31.780 Well, I haven't come to an agreement.
00:18:34.000 That's great that they can do that and the people that will fall in line.
00:18:37.140 But I I'm I'm still I'm optimistic.
00:18:40.580 I really am.
00:18:41.200 I think Speaker Johnson wants to do the right thing.
00:18:44.080 He's he's got a one person majority or maybe not even that.
00:18:47.980 He has to be careful when he goes to the floor that the Democrats aren't in the majority and can take over.
00:18:52.940 So it's a real it's a real chess game right now.
00:18:56.620 What's going on?
00:18:57.800 And and we we, as you know, we generally play checkers and the other side always plays chess.
00:19:04.220 So hopefully we we've upped our game.
00:19:07.740 I would hope, though, that the president understands the dire consequences of this border situation and that, you know, the little girl getting murdered over in Georgia.
00:19:19.140 I mean, that's just you multiply that across the country.
00:19:21.680 You can't run into anybody who hasn't had a family member or or knows someone who's been impacted by fentanyl that's come over our southern border and they just can't hide it anymore.
00:19:32.840 They can't hide it in the in the national media can't hide it for them anymore.
00:19:37.440 The American public sees it.
00:19:39.000 And that's why that's why Biden wins the border.
00:19:41.680 And that's why.
00:19:43.520 So my hope is, is that we pulled a rabbit out of our hat and we'll get a real border deal on this thing.
00:19:51.840 Yeah.
00:19:52.520 And pessimism about that possibility runs high.
00:19:55.760 And Biden on the border on part of Texas and and the president in Eagles Pass, Texas, where he'll be there with these all of these state authorities, the National Guard, everyone there.
00:20:11.920 And the head of the border patrol union who won't have anything to do with Joe Biden, interestingly enough, despite going along with that crazy border bill that Mitch McConnell put in front of everybody.
00:20:25.140 But here we are, and we are watching a remarkable development, I think.
00:20:32.300 And that is that Matt Rosendale is under attack by the by the left.
00:20:38.900 Former Senator Heidi Heitkamp accused making all sorts of salacious claims on a podcast.
00:20:46.960 We've got a campaign that's underway against the Republicans running from probably the White House.
00:20:54.020 This is going to be a tough, tough battle.
00:20:57.840 And I think the gloves are coming off McConnell resigning effective in November.
00:21:03.040 I think the country is cheering that.
00:21:05.740 But the Republicans, it's going to be very important what they do.
00:21:09.100 What do you expect?
00:21:10.740 I expect 20 million Americans that decided to stay home last time for a mean tweet, get off their butts and do what's right for this country.
00:21:20.580 And, you know, I always remember a prayer my dad made on the night Bill Clinton won.
00:21:25.320 Daddy, you didn't know my daddy, but he was a United States Marine combat veteran, Second World War, First Marine Division, invasion of Okinawa and Peleliu.
00:21:34.460 He prayed.
00:21:35.040 He said, Lord, please don't let us lose our country.
00:21:38.740 And to me, that was very profound.
00:21:41.000 And this one is for all the marbles.
00:21:43.420 We will lose our country, Lou, as you and I know it.
00:21:45.880 But the Marxists are in control.
00:21:48.940 They're openly defiant.
00:21:51.360 They are openly, they attack our country, our values, our religious beliefs, everything that we hold near and dear to our heart, and they're allowed to do it.
00:22:01.020 And the media is right in there with them.
00:22:03.760 Because anybody who stands up for their children, as you know, you know, our own FBI accuses parents who go after pornography being spread in their classrooms, in the public classrooms, that taxpayers are paying for it.
00:22:18.340 When a parent stands up to that, the FBI labels them a domestic terrorist.
00:22:22.520 We have lost control of the whole thing, Lou.
00:22:25.940 It is not a swamp.
00:22:28.340 You know, a swamp is something God created.
00:22:30.160 It's a system, as I've stated many times, it's a system that filters water.
00:22:34.680 It's an ecosystem.
00:22:35.680 We have an open sewer right now.
00:22:38.020 It all flows in and nothing flows out.
00:22:41.340 And if we don't, if we do not address this at the polls this time, we will lose our country.
00:22:47.180 Without a question.
00:22:48.620 This is the existential election that we have all been fearing and which is arriving in some eight months.
00:22:56.420 I want to go to the issue of Matt Rosendale.
00:22:59.160 Your thoughts about the comments that were made, the slurs against him by a former Democratic senator.
00:23:08.180 You're thinking about that.
00:23:11.480 Well, to me, it's the old double standard.
00:23:15.180 Just say it was true.
00:23:16.500 I mean, look, we've got a Democrat member of Congress who Nancy Pelosi allowed to sit on intelligence committee that had a relationship with a known Chinese communist spy.
00:23:30.520 And that was broadcast everywhere.
00:23:33.380 And the intelligence people said he should not be on there.
00:23:35.860 But Pelosi kept him on.
00:23:37.220 You know, it's just and, you know, that those kind of things, you know, it turns my stomach.
00:23:45.400 Rosendale is a buddy of mine.
00:23:46.640 And it just it just makes me sick and that they're allowed to get by with that.
00:23:51.760 And where is the media calling her out?
00:23:54.320 You know who's doing it?
00:23:55.220 It's people like yourself.
00:23:56.280 You've got some guts who used to when you say you work for the media is back when it had a little bit of a class about it.
00:24:04.700 You know, you verify things.
00:24:06.560 And and this bunch today sure does.
00:24:09.620 And the left is allowed a free hand at it.
00:24:11.820 And it's just we are under attack top to bottom.
00:24:15.560 Every aspect of any any.
00:24:18.180 And Rosendale is a known conservative.
00:24:20.020 He and I, we sit close to each other on the floor and we talk every day.
00:24:25.960 And this is just more of the same.
00:24:28.080 You know, they start these whisper campaigns and then then, boom, they put it out national.
00:24:33.980 And there's no time for him to defend.
00:24:35.860 He's guilty.
00:24:36.460 You know, he is guilty before anything else.
00:24:40.620 And and and we've just we've allowed them to take over.
00:24:47.780 As I've stated many times, the money changers are are running the temple right now.
00:24:52.760 We're talking to Congressman Tim Burcham.
00:24:54.900 And we ask you to stay with us because we'll come right back.
00:24:57.760 I promise.
00:24:58.520 Stay with us.
00:25:00.900 Folks, you know, I beg everyone to get ready for the next crisis.
00:25:04.360 And when it comes, our lives will likely change overnight, whether it's natural disaster, war or another disease.
00:25:11.980 We have to be ready as we can be.
00:25:14.120 We saw what happened in 2020 when we found ourselves dependent on global supply chains.
00:25:18.980 We're still dependent on China and other countries for more than 90 percent of all our pharmaceuticals.
00:25:24.300 With clusters of respiratory illnesses popping up around the world and here, we need to be prepared.
00:25:30.320 And now is the time to make certain you have what your family needs when the next crisis hits.
00:25:36.520 Our good friends, Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Drew Penske over at the Wellness Company have put together just what you and I need with the Wellness Company's medical emergency kit.

00:26:26.820 Take control of your health today with the Wellness Company's medical emergency kit.
00:26:31.340 Prepare today.
00:26:32.480 Be ready tomorrow.
00:26:36.020 We're back now.
00:26:37.240 We're talking with Congressman Tim Burchett.
00:26:39.140 And please, Congressman, give us your sense on Mike Johnson.
00:26:46.820 There are rumors that there are folks ready to move, to vacate, to replace the speaker.
00:26:54.140 I think that's just about all we need right now is another fight on Capitol Hill.
00:26:59.920 What are your thoughts?
00:27:01.600 Yeah.
00:27:02.640 Well, I hope that's not the case, Lou.
00:27:04.520 You know, I study psychology, people's psychology, not so much in the books.
00:27:10.360 I studied it in college, of course.
00:27:12.660 But I've noticed something that a lot of the folks, and I was one of the original eight that voted to oust the previous speaker.
00:27:20.800 And I noticed several of the people that you would have thought would have voted to vacate didn't that last time.
00:27:28.540 And now they're kind of chomping at the bit at something because they felt like they got they caught grief when they got home because they knew in their hearts where they should have been.
00:27:39.320 And they just didn't want to step out on that ledge with us.
00:27:42.380 And because it was a lonely, it was a lonely time sitting on that house floor with eight of us, I want to tell you.
00:27:49.240 And and so I think that's part of it.
00:27:52.320 And part of it is just dissatisfaction.
00:27:54.600 But the reality is we're one when the former speaker decided to leave a year early after he was dethroned.
00:28:02.960 That put us one vote away.
00:28:05.040 So if you've got somebody who's sick, you have a death in a family, somebody who can't make it, somebody caught in traffic.
00:28:11.660 Yeah, we lose key votes.
00:28:14.420 And and that's and so it's a very it's very important.
00:28:17.840 I think right now that we have a cohesive nature, especially going into this election cycle, because President Trump has stated that very much how he likes Mike Johnson.
00:28:29.920 And and so I would hope that that would carry some weight.
00:28:33.360 But we do not I do not think we need another vacate to tear right now.
00:28:37.860 Yeah, I think that has to carry weight.
00:28:40.220 And, you know, carried a lot of weight when the president said that McConnell's bill, border bill, so-called, was political suicide for the for the Republicans.
00:28:52.480 That that pretty much ended that I think everybody knows right now he's not only the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party.
00:28:58.420 He is, without question, across the board, the leader of the Republican Party.
00:29:04.020 And that takes me to my next question, which is Senator Schumer announcing he's stepping down in November.
00:29:10.100 Now, the man has health issues.
00:29:11.940 He has family problems, apparently, as well.
00:29:15.240 Family concerns.
00:29:16.560 I should put it that way.
00:29:18.080 I don't mean to imply anything else.
00:29:20.520 You said Schumer.
00:29:22.040 You meant McConnell.
00:29:23.360 I'm sorry.
00:29:24.060 Did I say Schumer?
00:29:24.860 Schumer, thank you, McConnell.
00:29:26.420 You were wishing that.
00:29:30.280 Yes, sir.
00:29:31.260 I have no comment on that, Senator, as they say in the movies.
00:29:35.180 But I appreciate the correction.
00:29:37.920 McConnell is, you know, shoulder to shoulder with Schumer.
00:29:42.600 And I have to say, I don't believe there are going to be many tears when the man leaves.
00:29:48.100 I think the real tears are about why is he waiting until November?
00:29:52.180 Your reaction.
00:29:53.020 Yeah, I suspect it's so they can cut a deal to put somebody else in power that won't be quite as conservative as you and I would like.
00:30:04.860 And I wish he would.
00:30:07.780 I hope they haven't already cut a deal, put a moderate in that position.
00:30:14.920 We need somebody strong right now.
00:30:16.700 We need somebody that's going to have the back of President Trump and, frankly, somebody that can work with the House because we haven't really seen a lot of that as of late.
00:30:25.420 The deal cutting and things, to me, were not very advantageous to us in the conservative cause.
00:30:32.080 And it's just to get along to get along kind of thing.
00:30:36.660 You know, we take in $5 trillion, we spend $7 trillion.
00:30:39.680 That's just the way we've always done it.
00:30:41.660 You know, that kind of mentality.
00:30:43.400 And it's got to go, Luke.
00:30:44.980 We've got to get back to the basics.
00:30:48.000 We've got to start managing our money, managing our borders, and not being the world's peacekeeper.
00:30:55.080 Peacekeeper, because historically that has proven very detrimental to us and our financial well-being.
00:31:04.400 Well, we're in a peculiar place, and I ask you about McConnell, because I think we're going to see big changes in Washington, D.C.
00:31:12.300 First of all, President Trump will be returned to the White House.
00:31:17.060 McConnell means that there's an opportunity to put real leadership in there.
00:31:20.880 My personal view is that John Thune is no way fit to be the leader of anything, let alone the leader of the minority or the majority, if the case is such, in the U.S. Senate.
00:31:36.420 Joni Ernst, another member of leadership, hasn't even endorsed President Trump, nor has McConnell.
00:31:44.860 And by the way, Thune only endorsed him a few days ago.
00:31:48.200 So this is a recalcitrant bunch of rhinos, and they need to be, you know, to step back and step down in a way.
00:31:57.460 I just can't imagine putting any one of them in there.
00:32:01.200 Have you got any favorites in the race that is yet to be run?
00:32:05.720 No, sir.
00:32:06.660 I've been from Tennessee, and unless it's Hagerty or Marsha Blackburn, I don't.
00:32:12.980 But I know once they cut that deal that we're not going to, you know, the Uniparty will be once again in command.
00:32:22.920 And I don't have a lot of hope in that, faith in that system over there because it's just, it's old school.
00:32:31.460 It's news fan.
00:32:32.660 It's, you know, the K Street lobbyists, excuse me.
00:32:37.000 They're going to be moving and operating.
00:32:39.760 You know, interesting thing about McConnell, he didn't, you know, in the House, we have to pay dues.
00:32:46.720 We have to raise so much money if we want to go up in the structure, which is really, I think, crooked.
00:32:53.140 It's crooked as the dog's leg, as they would say in East Tennessee.
00:32:56.480 But McConnell took on that role.
00:32:59.520 And he raised all the money in the, in his caucus, in those races, which I thought was interesting, you know, for the caucus operation.
00:33:12.940 And that made people that switched over from the House to the Senate, they loved that.
00:33:17.560 But really what it did was it consolidated on all the power within him.
00:33:22.840 And so whoever has that position will have at their fingertips multi, multi-millions of dollars to negotiate other legislative races, just the whole agenda.
00:33:38.760 So I, I would hope we'd have somebody that had some conservative landings, Lou, because if we don't, again, this continuation of, you know, well, they paid their dues kind of thing.
00:33:49.420 I don't give a rip if they paid their dues.
00:33:51.840 I want to know if they're going to, if they're going to serve the country and their constituents and not, and not the lobbyists and not the international crowd.
