00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Tuesday, April 22nd.
00:00:05.760 American taxpayers no longer going to be forced to serve as collateral, that's right.
00:00:10.920 Breaking news, the education department blowing a massive hole in the Biden student loan bailout program.
00:00:16.740 Education Secretary Linda McMahon said the Biden administration, quote,
00:00:20.300 misled borrowers when it canceled student loans.
00:00:23.840 Biden, of course, canceling $136 billion in student loans,
00:00:27.900 forcing the average wage earners to pay for other people's student loans.
00:00:32.320 Education Secretary Linda McMahon saying no more.
00:00:36.320 The American taxpayers are no longer going to serve as collateral for irresponsible student loan policies.
00:00:43.020 Department of Education will begin collecting payments on defaulted student loans on May 5th.
00:00:48.600 The new policy will impact an estimated 5 million borrowers who have not made any monthly payments since March of 2020.
00:00:56.280 Federal student loan payments were halted in March of 2020 because of the COVID pandemic.
00:01:01.760 Payments were set to resume in October of 2023, but millions of borrowers are still in default.
00:01:07.960 All thanks, folks, to the Biden administration.
00:01:10.760 Now, the Biden administration used a series of workarounds to circumvent the Supreme Court's decision
00:01:15.400 to strike down his student loan bailout program.
00:01:18.600 You all recall Joe Biden unilaterally announcing a massive forgiveness in August of 2022 to buy the Gen Z and millennial votes in the 2022 midterms.
00:01:29.560 Biden then canceled over $400 billion in student loans.
00:01:32.600 That turned out to be about $10,000 in student debt for borrowers who earned about $125,000 a year or less
00:01:40.320 and up to $20,000 for recipients of Pell Grants.
00:01:43.980 Folks, the Biden administration mean to destroy America and destroy America.
00:01:50.640 He did.
00:01:51.520 A disgraced former Senator Bob Menendez from the great state of New Jersey.
00:01:55.180 You often hear me call him on this show, Senator Goldbar.
00:01:59.160 Well, his wife's in a little bit of trouble. 0.97
00:02:02.000 Nadine Menendez, the wife of the disgraced former senator, was found guilty on all 15 federal counts
00:02:07.440 in a sweeping bribery and corruption case.
00:02:09.420 The charges against Nadine Menendez include bribery, wire fraud, obstruction of justice, and acting as a foreign agent.
00:02:17.480 Prosecutors said that she was the go-between connecting Bob Menendez with businessmen
00:02:21.600 who funneled bribes to them from Egyptian and Qatari governments.
00:02:25.640 In exchange, the politician leveraged his power to post as the head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee
00:02:31.460 to lobby colleagues to unfreeze $300 million in Egyptian military aid that had been held up due to human rights concern
00:02:38.520 and dole out the valuable favors jurors heard.
00:02:42.140 Folks, what more can you expect from the Marxist Dems?
00:02:46.060 All they know is corruption.
00:02:47.720 Well, it's not just the Marxist Dems who are bad. 0.85
00:02:49.940 It's the rhinos as well.
00:02:51.380 And we've got a rhino in the house who's acting up again.
00:02:53.740 And Rep Don Bacon of Nebraska now echoing Democrat talking points by publicly calling for President Trump
00:03:00.760 to fire Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, all based on a debunked New York Times smear.
00:03:07.320 Bacon, who's an Air Force, a former Air Force general, who now chairs a cybersecurity committee,
00:03:12.020 launched into the media-friendly tirade on Monday, criticizing Hegseth's qualifications,
00:03:16.800 and repeating a since-refuted New York Times report that claimed Hegseth used Private Signal app
00:03:22.640 to discuss classified military operations in Yemen with his family.
00:03:27.780 The rhinos are just as big a problem, folks, as the Marxist Dems.
00:03:33.060 And President Trump lacing into the Supreme Court this week,
00:03:36.560 in an unprecedented move, the Supreme Court at 1 a.m. on Saturday
00:03:39.680 temporarily blocked the Trump administration from deporting Venezuelan illegals
00:03:43.760 onto the Alien Enemies Act.
00:03:45.320 The ACLU on Friday frantically ran to two district courts,
00:03:49.980 as Venezuelan illegals in Abilene, Texas, were reportedly being loaded up on buses to be deported.
00:03:56.140 After the Trump-appointed judge in the Northern District of Texas refused to take emergency action,
00:04:02.040 the ACLU ran to Judge Boasberg.
00:04:05.100 That's right, Boasberg in D.C.
00:04:07.500 Boasberg, of course, held an emergency hearing and told the ACLU lawyers
00:04:11.860 that he didn't have jurisdiction over the plaintiffs in Texas.
00:04:15.320 Well, then the ACLU, of course, leapfrogged the courts 0.95
00:04:18.380 and begged the Supreme Court to intervene in an emergency application.
00:04:23.320 The Supreme Court temporarily halted the deportation,
00:04:27.000 Alito and Thomas dissenting,
00:04:29.260 and stopped the Trump administration from deporting a group of Venezuelan illegals.
00:04:33.180 President Trump said he was elected to remove criminals from our country
00:04:36.900 and that the courts are intimidated by the Marxist left.
00:04:41.340 And that they are, folks.
00:04:42.560 But the Democrats are having issues of their own.
00:04:46.100 The Marxist Dems are clashing with the semi-Marxist.
00:04:50.880 House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries this week openly dissing the strategy of DNC Vice Chair David Hogg.
00:04:59.800 Take a listen.
00:05:00.740 I love when the Marxist Dems fight in public.
00:05:03.940 Here he is.
00:05:04.460 David Hogg, who I know you know,
00:05:07.420 a vice chair of the Democratic National Committee,
00:05:10.580 he's going to be joining us on the roundtable.
00:05:12.900 And he is pursuing this effort to unseat some Democrats in safe seats through primary challenges.
00:05:20.060 He's talked about a culture of seniority politics that is not working for the party.
00:05:25.240 He said, quote,
00:05:26.180 We need a better Democratic Party and need to get rid of the Democrats in safe seats 0.61
00:05:30.780 who do not understand what is at stake now,
00:05:33.160 who are asleep at the wheel, not meeting the moment,
00:05:35.680 and are a liability now into the future of our party.
00:05:39.280 What's your response to this idea of targeting some of your Democratic incumbents?
00:05:46.240 Well, I look forward to standing behind every single Democratic incumbent,
00:05:50.100 from the most progressive to the most centrist and all points in between.
00:05:54.420 They're working hard in their communities, rising to the occasion this past week.
00:05:58.560 We had, of course, a Medicaid Matters Day of Action, a safe Social Security Day of Action. 0.67
00:06:03.820 And we have to continue to do all of the things.
00:06:06.520 Rallies, town hall meetings in Democratic districts, town hall meetings in Republican districts,
00:06:11.940 days of action, telephone town hall meetings, site visits, press conferences.
00:06:17.340 We are in a more is more environment, and more is going to continue to be required of all of us.
00:06:23.220 Now, the House is the institution that is known to be, was built to be the closest to the American people.
00:06:30.220 That's why we have elections every two years.
00:06:32.880 Primaries are a fact of life.
00:06:34.800 But here's the thing.
00:06:36.120 I'm going to really focus on trying to defeat Republican incumbents
00:06:40.920 so we can take back control of the House of Representatives
00:06:44.260 and begin the process of ending this national nightmare
00:06:48.540 that's being visited upon us by far-right extremism.
00:06:52.220 Far-right extremism, kind of oxymoron coming from a Marxist dem.
00:06:56.720 Folks, please be sure to join us today and each and every day, twice a day for The Great America Show
00:07:00.560 and The Great America Show Midday Updates.
00:07:02.900 I'm John Fossil.
00:07:03.760 With this Midday Update, have a great Tuesday, folks.

00:07:07.280 Here we go.
