Hello everybody, I'm John Fosser with this Great America Show midday update for Tuesday, July 8th.
00:00:06.140
Have you all taken your summer trip yet? Are you planning to take a summer trip?
00:00:11.800
Well, everyone's favorite thing when you get to the airport may soon be coming to an end.
00:00:17.240
Nearly 20 years after airline passengers were first required to remove their shoes for security,
00:00:25.140
That's right, the Transportation Security Administration, what we know as the TSA,
00:00:29.500
is planning to allow passengers to keep their shoes on when they go through general security lines
00:00:37.400
An unexpected memo went out to the TSA officers across the country last week,
00:00:41.460
stating that the new policy will allow passengers to keep their shoes on
00:00:44.380
in all screening lanes at many airports across this country starting this past Sunday.
00:00:50.340
The goal is to roll out the new policy at all U.S. airports shortly, according to the memo.
00:00:54.300
Previously, only passengers in the TSA pre-check line were able to keep their shoes on in most cases.
00:01:00.820
The transportation agency has spent years looking at an innovative way
00:01:03.820
to allow passengers to move faster through security checkpoints.
00:01:08.000
Passengers who trigger the alarm at the scanners or the magnometers,
00:01:11.280
however, will be required to take their shoes off for additional screening.
00:01:14.940
This is a major shift now since the TSA began requiring all passengers remove their shoes in 2006.
00:01:21.500
I must say, cutting down lines at an airport, I am all for it.
00:01:27.240
If any of you have been to an airport lately, I happen to be stuck in them more often than I should be.
00:01:33.700
The lines are only getting longer and longer and longer.
00:01:37.740
President Trump, hosting a cabinet meeting this afternoon,
00:01:41.140
was asked about a report that he's apparently looking at giving amnesty to some illegals.
00:01:52.140
What we're doing is we're getting rid of criminals, but we are doing a work program.
00:01:58.180
Yeah, this morning we talked about, of course, this was a top-of-mind question.
00:02:01.960
This morning we talked about protecting the farmers in the farmland,
00:02:04.720
but obviously this president's vision of no amnesty, mass deportation continues,
00:02:10.000
but in a strategic way in ensuring that our farmers have the labor that they need.
00:02:15.760
Secretary Chavez-Durimer has been a leader on this.
00:02:18.180
Obviously, this comes out of the labor department, but moving toward automation,
00:02:22.060
ensuring that our farmers have that workforce, and moving toward an American workforce.
00:02:27.400
We've got to give the farmers the people they need, but we're not talking amnesty.
00:02:32.040
That's right, end of story, case closed, no amnesty for illegals.
00:02:36.120
You came here illegally, you're going to be deported, most likely.
00:02:42.180
Speaker Mike Johnson, after passing the Big Beautiful Bill, I should say it was President
00:02:46.420
Trump, who passed the Big Beautiful Bill, revealing that a new federal law that he's putting forward
00:02:51.900
officially codifies 28 executive orders that were signed by President Trump.
00:02:56.980
It appears that maybe signing and passing the Big Beautiful Bill has given Mike Johnson a little
00:03:02.020
kick in the rear end to start getting to work on passing President Trump's full agenda,
00:03:09.860
Makes it a lot harder for any Marxist dem that's going to be president one day to overturn what
00:03:16.640
The legislation that Johnson is putting forward, it shines a robust American First agenda,
00:03:21.660
ranging from national security to economic revival, making it nearly impossible, like I
00:03:26.200
said, for future administrations to undo without going through Congress.
00:03:30.500
Now, among some of the bigger codified executive orders, we'll be securing the border, declaring
00:03:36.920
a national emergency at the southern border, protecting the American people against an invasion
00:03:41.720
at the southern border, ending taxpayer subsidies for open borders, restricting the entry of
00:03:47.380
foreign nationals protecting the United States from foreign terrorists and other national security
00:03:52.040
and public safety threats, implementing President Trump's Doge cost efficiency initiative, a big
00:03:58.740
one that Elon Musk is no longer part of, protecting America's bank accounts against fraud, waste,
00:04:04.180
and abuse, continuing the reduction of the federal bureaucracy that we see, and the list goes on
00:04:12.260
This is all part of President Trump's plan to keep America great again, to make America great
00:04:18.000
again, and to ensure that no Marxist dem comes in and decides that they're going to undo everything
00:04:24.400
that President Trump has done, because that's exactly what the plan is going to be as soon as
00:04:31.020
President Trump is no longer in office, and we eventually do get a Marxist dem back in
00:04:36.120
So, good on Mike Johnson for finally taking him a little bit of time, but finally getting
00:04:42.500
This is the moment we've all been waiting for, Speaker Johnson, so make us all proud.
