00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Wednesday, April 9th.
00:00:04.960 Happy Wednesday, folks.
00:00:06.480 The CCP, the Communist Chinese Party, has retaliated against President Donald Trump's latest round of America First tariffs
00:00:13.860 by imposing a staggering 84% levy on U.S. imports.
00:00:18.480 That's up from the 34%.
00:00:20.000 The move announced by Beijing's State Council Tariff Commission
00:00:23.640 is in direct response to President Trump's bold decision to raise the tariffs on Chinese goods
00:00:29.000 to over 104% in defense of American workers and industries.
00:00:34.760 Now, some are saying that 104% is simply not enough.
00:00:39.720 Kevin O'Leary, you may know him from Shark Tank, a big venture capitalist guy,
00:00:44.920 says the 104% is not enough. It's got to go up into the 400s. Take a listen. 0.86
00:00:50.020 104% tariffs in China are not enough. I'm advocating 400%.
00:00:55.000 I do business in China. They don't play by the rules. 0.59
00:00:58.460 They've been in the WTO for decades. They have never abided by any of the rules they agreed to
00:01:03.160 when they came in for decades. They cheat. They steal. They steal IP. I can't litigate in their courts.
00:01:09.180 They take product, technology. They steal it. They manufacture it and sell it back here. 0.99
00:01:16.060 Never has an administration...
00:01:16.700 America's going to stay in 400% tariffs? What would that look like?
00:01:19.780 I want Xi on an airplane to Washington to level the playing field.
00:01:24.560 This is not about tariffs anymore. Nobody has taken on China yet.
00:01:29.260 Not the Europeans. No administration for decades. 0.99
00:01:32.760 As someone who actually does business there, I've had enough.
00:01:36.160 I speak for millions of Americans who have IP that have been stolen by the Chinese. 1.00
00:01:41.780 I have nothing against the Chinese people.
00:01:44.940 They've brought great literacy, art, and tech to the world.
00:01:49.640 The government cheats and steals.
00:01:52.940 And finally, an administration...
00:01:55.140 You may not like Trump. You may not like his style or his rhetoric.
00:01:58.640 Finally, an administration that puts up and says,
00:02:02.760 enough. 400% tariffs tomorrow morning.
00:02:07.460 I'll tell you why.
00:02:08.680 Xi can only stay the Supreme Leader if people are employed.
00:02:13.440 If we wipe out any business there, because we are still 39% of all consumables on Earth
00:02:19.640 and 25% of the world's GDP, America is the number one economy on Earth with all the cards.
00:02:25.780 We will not have that forever. 0.65
00:02:27.300 It's time to squeeze Chinese heads into the wall now. 1.00
00:02:31.220 Well, hold on, I hear you, but hold on. 0.80
00:02:34.540 If we're talking about people, the average consumer,
00:02:37.820 not necessarily the head honchos of businesses all across the globe,
00:02:41.800 can they withstand the pressure of that sort of tax on the goods you're going to have?
00:02:47.420 It's short-lived.
00:02:48.100 There will be people...
00:02:48.620 But yeah, but what's your timeline compared to...
00:02:50.660 You don't know the average American's timeline, what they can actually survive.
00:02:54.160 There's people right now who can't survive...
00:02:55.920 100% tomorrow morning, cheese on an airplane to Washington to cut a deal.
00:02:59.640 Kevin O'Leary, clearly a lot smarter than those other Marxists on that CNN panel,
00:03:04.720 but I think he's absolutely correct and a terrific analysis of just everything that China does to America.
00:03:11.900 Now, Scott Besant, the Treasury Secretary, says the United States may now delist China stocks
00:03:16.880 on American exchanges, as Xi panicked, just as President Trump said he would.
00:03:22.160 Take a listen to Besant on Maria Bartiromo's show earlier this morning.
00:03:26.280 Maria, I think it's unfortunate that the Chinese actually don't want to come and negotiate 0.99
00:03:33.060 because they are the worst offenders in the international trading system.
00:03:37.460 They have the most imbalanced economy in the history of the modern world. 0.51
00:03:42.000 And I can tell you that this escalation is a loser for them.
00:03:46.100 That they have some very smart economists, the academicians, technocrats within their bureaucracy,
00:03:54.480 and they would be telling the leadership that we do not have the edge here.
00:03:58.820 They are the surplus country.
00:04:01.740 That their exports to the U.S. are five times our exports to China.
00:04:09.440 So they can raise their tariffs, but so what?
00:04:12.820 So China, it seems, this is going to be a short-lived fight between China and the United States
00:04:19.580 as it pertains to tariff.
00:04:20.860 China playing the short game, Donald Trump clearly playing the long game.
00:04:24.780 And as you heard from those two very smart men, Scott Besant and Kevin O'Leary,
00:04:28.920 with what Donald Trump is doing to them, they're going to be forced to come to the table very, very soon.
00:04:34.000 And it's not just about the tariffs.
00:04:35.500 It's about them stealing our intellectual property, them bullying.
00:04:39.840 They said Donald Trump's a bully. 0.99
00:04:40.940 They are the bullies.
00:04:42.200 Companies go to China to make products. 0.53
00:04:45.000 They steal.
00:04:45.740 They cheat.
00:04:46.300 They lie.
00:04:46.820 They devalue.
00:04:48.120 And who does that hurt?
00:04:49.260 That hurts the American.
00:04:50.460 That hurts the farmers.
00:04:52.120 It hurts everybody who's competing with cheap slave labor, which is what they do over in China. 0.96
00:04:57.140 So it's the first time we're seeing any politicians stand up in our lifetimes to the CCP and everything they've done to us.
00:05:05.440 Turning now to some politics here at home.
00:05:07.460 Republican Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson this week released two new records detailing the FBI and DOJ's sweeping investigation
00:05:14.740 that, of course, formed the basis of Jack Smith's D.C. case against President Trump.
00:05:20.100 Last month, Grassley and Johnson blew the lid off another sham investigation orchestrated by Biden's corrupt Department of Justice and the compromised FBI.
00:05:29.480 According to those documents released last month, the FBI and DOJ weaponized their power to target President Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence
00:05:37.180 and their allies through a probe dubbed, quote, Arctic Frost.
00:05:41.540 Operation Arctic Frost was a taxpayer-funded witch hunt that was launched in April of 2022
00:05:46.120 that seized government-issued cell phones belonging to Trump and Pence while conducting a barrage of interviews across the country.
00:05:53.680 The FBI, of course, did not require a warrant to take possession of government phones from the Biden White House.
00:05:58.560 However, after securing the devices, agents began preparing a search warrant to access their data,
00:06:04.480 sources were familiar with the investigation, telling Fox News.
00:06:08.360 The Senators claim anti-Trump FBI assistant special agent in charge, Timothy Tybalt,
00:06:13.200 violated FBI protocols, specifically the, quote, no self-approval rule, to kickstart the investigation,
00:06:19.800 which later, of course, turned into Special Counsel Jack Smith's bogus lawfare case against President Trump,
00:06:25.640 just like in Russia, Russia, Russia, relying on a fabricated justification,
00:06:31.080 including the absurd claim that Trump and his associates had engaged in, quote,
00:06:34.760 fraudulent activities related to the 2020 election.
00:06:38.420 The Marxist Dems bear no boundaries, folks.
00:06:41.400 These people are the greatest threat to America and the greatest threat to democracy.
00:06:45.560 Please be sure to join us today and each and every day, folks,
00:06:47.740 for The Great America Show and The Great America Show Midday Updates,

00:06:59.840 Have a great, great day.
