The Great America Show - YOU NEVER CHANGE ANYTHING YOU’RE WILLING TO TOLERATE SAYS REP. MARKWAYNE MULLIN

00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs, and welcome to The Great America Show.

00:00:04.960 Thanks for being with us today, every day.

00:00:08.240 You know, folks, we hear at least once a week from someone, from the Dems, the Rhinos, or the corporatist media outlets,

00:00:15.020 that we shouldn't be talking about the 2020 election.

00:00:18.520 But let me just clear up some of that nonsense, because we're being inundated with their lies,

00:00:25.300 their disinformation campaign still, that they've been running for a year and a half.

00:00:30.660 And we've learned a lot since the DHS, the Department of Homeland Security, declared it was a secure election.

00:00:37.640 No hacking, no problem. No surprise. All that was a lie.

00:00:43.940 And there have been many more lies.

00:00:46.280 So here are, if you will forgive me, the three biggest lies about 2020.

00:00:51.300 And I really think it's important for everyone to keep these three in mind.

00:00:57.040 Here they are, from bad to worst.

00:01:00.240 The first big lie.

00:01:02.320 Chris Krebs, the DHS official in charge of election security, declared right after the 2020 election,

00:01:10.500 that the election had been, quote, the most secure in history, end quote.

00:01:17.480 Here's the fact.

00:01:18.680 It wasn't a secure election.

00:01:21.300 We learned last year that the FBI knew before the election that Iranian hackers had gained access to the identities of 100,000 voters in one state

00:01:32.320 and then used those identities to try to alter the outcome of the election, targeting Republicans.

00:01:40.140 It was not a perfect election.

00:01:42.720 It wasn't a secure election.

00:01:44.460 And who knows what we don't know, right?

00:01:47.900 Well, the second big lie.

00:01:50.480 Just days before the final presidential debate, 51 Intel veterans signed and released a letter declaring that emails from Hunter Biden's laptop that were published by the New York Post were Russian disinformation,

00:02:06.920 that the Russians were interfering in the 2020 presidential election.

00:02:12.620 Big tech, big tech, social media, and corporate news outlets then refused to cover the story at all.

00:02:21.160 And Joe Biden used that letter in the final debate as a shield against President Trump's valid charges of Biden corruption.

00:02:31.200 Here's the fact.

00:02:32.960 It wasn't Russian disinformation.

00:02:34.820 It was Obama intelligence chief's disinformation.

00:02:41.120 They were the ones lying.

00:02:43.080 And those 51 Intel veterans acted as operatives to intervene in the 2020 election on behalf of Joe Biden.

00:02:53.400 They purposely and knowingly lied to the American people to put Biden in the White House.

00:03:01.020 The third big lie, the biggest among the three, Attorney General William Barr declared in December of 2020 there was no need for a special counsel to investigate either the election or Hunter Biden.

00:03:18.940 Well, here's the fact.

00:03:20.840 Not only was there a definite need for investigations, but Bill Barr knew that the Intel letter was a lie.

00:03:28.540 He knew that it wasn't Russian disinformation.

00:03:32.640 He also knew that Joe Biden had lied to the American people in that final debate about his son, his emails, and charges of corruption.

00:03:42.760 Yet Barr refused to inform the American people of those lies, claiming he didn't want to be accused of intervening in the election.

00:03:51.800 Imagine that.

00:03:52.880 He didn't want to intervene.

00:03:54.360 But through his silence, Barr intervened in the election for Biden.

00:04:00.200 Barr also knew that Hunter Biden was under federal investigation throughout the entire time. 0.96

00:04:07.320 Barr could hardly have been more cowardly and deceitful. 0.94

00:04:11.980 Barr might as well have been a co-conspirator against President Trump. 0.76

00:04:16.340 I had to get that off my chest, folks, because the disinformation campaign is raging, and I suspect the radical Dems, the Marxist left, and the deep state are going to raise the level of that disinformation campaign against Americans.

00:04:31.900 But those three big lies, and I suspect, but I can't prove, that all of them were orchestrated by the same person or persons.

00:04:41.780 I'm working on that.

00:04:43.640 But I'll be sharing these three big lies with you from time to time just so that none of us ever forget what happened in 2020.

00:04:51.880 Ever.

00:04:53.760 Well, a step forward to report to you today in Pennsylvania, where Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick conceded to Dr. Mamet Oz, who is now the presumptive Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate seat from which Senator Pat Toomey is retiring.

00:05:10.460 Oz will face dim Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman in November.

00:05:15.160 Well, let's turn now to this year's elections, and there are some remarkable candidates running, some you may not have heard of, and they're worth you knowing about, because they have the potential to help get this great country of ours moving in the right direction.

00:05:31.720 There's a special Republican primary Senate election in Oklahoma for the Senate seat held by Jim Enhofe, who is retiring at the end of the year.

00:05:41.280 Congressman Mark Wayne Mullen is one of the leaders in that race for the Republican nomination, and he's our guest here today.

00:05:49.680 Mullen is a successful businessman.

00:05:51.880 He's been in Congress since 2013.

00:05:54.640 He even had three professional bouts as a mixed martial arts fighter, and he won all three.

00:06:00.240 He's also one of the congressmen who stood against riders who were trying to force their way into the House chamber on January 6th.

00:06:08.280 And he's a great American.

00:06:11.280 Congressman Mullen, great to have you with us here on The Great America Show.

00:06:15.020 Welcome.

00:06:16.100 Thank you, Admiral and Lou.

00:06:17.040 I appreciate it.

00:06:18.560 How's the race going?

00:06:21.160 It's going great.

00:06:22.460 I mean, it's honestly probably one of the most humbling things I've ever done.

00:06:27.080 I've never ran statewide before, and the amount of support and the amount of volunteers we have all across the state is just amazing.

00:06:36.660 I mean, our numbers look great.

00:06:38.620 We're more than 20 points ahead of anybody else that's in the race.

00:06:42.620 We're outworking them.

00:06:43.740 I've never showed up in a room and thought I was the smartest guy in the room, but I always tell everybody I could outwork everybody in the room.

00:06:50.080 And we are doing that.

00:06:51.180 My team's doing that.

00:06:52.180 And it's resonating with the people of Oklahoma.

00:06:55.200 And I tell everybody, you know, we're taking the fight to Washington, D.C.

00:06:58.120 D.C.

00:06:58.460 should be influencing us.

00:07:00.160 We need to be taking Oklahoma values and influencing Washington, D.C.

00:07:03.140 and that way we can change America.

00:07:05.540 So our website's mulling for America.

00:07:07.460 Not just mulling for Oklahoma, but we're mulling for America.

00:07:10.560 Well, I like that because everybody in this country really does need to change what Washington is.

00:07:17.200 And we sure as heck don't need any export of what it is back to the states.

00:07:23.720 It's, well, a few of the states, it wouldn't have much impact.

00:07:28.600 They're in such a sorry shape to begin with.

00:07:30.460 But let's go to, right now, what you think is the most important issue facing the Republican Party.

00:07:38.000 And I want to talk party politics here for just a minute.

00:07:40.800 Then we'll move on to America.

00:07:43.320 Yeah.

00:07:43.720 You know, one of the biggest issues we have in our party is where are we moving as a party, right?

00:07:51.680 For the first time since Ross Pro was on the ticket, we have independents leading the Democrat Party and coming to the Republican Party.

00:08:02.360 And then we have an opportunity to grow our party at this point, not just by a little bit, by really including individuals that haven't always lined up necessarily with us.

00:08:13.740 But we have an opportunity to educate those individuals because we all make decisions based on two things.

00:08:18.080 The way we're raised never changes, but our life experiences do.

00:08:22.000 So our life experiences make those decisions.

00:08:23.820 And we are able to really get back this country because the country was sold a bill of goods that they didn't understand.

00:08:32.040 They got bought into this socialism.

00:08:33.980 They bought into this capitalism as bad.

00:08:35.980 They bought into the fact that our country, especially the younger generation, our country needed to change. 0.91

00:08:41.380 And everybody that was successful was greedy.

00:08:43.360 And they realized that that is failing our country in a huge way.

00:08:47.440 Those policies are not being productive.

00:08:50.260 And they're seeing the Biden inflation take place.

00:08:52.960 They're seeing GDP drop.

00:08:55.280 They're seeing their bring home pay, even though they said we're going to raise minimum wage.

00:08:58.820 But they're bringing home less because guess what?

00:09:01.540 Prices go up when you do that.

00:09:02.800 They're realizing this, and they're looking for something.

00:09:06.120 They're hungry for it.

00:09:07.520 And we have, as a party, we have an opportunity to really take this back and win this fight against socialism because the Democrats have unmasked themselves, Lou.

00:09:15.480 They've totally taken the mask off, and they show what Reagan was warning us about back in the 80s when he was talking about communism and the socialist takeover, the socialism that's coming along with it.

00:09:27.480 And now they've taken that mask off, and they went full blown.

00:09:30.660 They're all in, and they can't back away from it.

00:09:34.320 And we have an opportunity to really grow our republic, to really grow this democracy if we're willing to take the time and educate these individuals and not just push them off because one time they disagreed with us.

00:09:46.020 Well, I'll put it straightforwardly.

00:09:48.840 I believe that the Republican Party better be the Trump Party, the America First Party, the Make America Great Party, or the Republican Party is just going to be another sorry gathering of country club wusses trying to figure out how to keep disguising their form of socialism and the fact that they're more Democrat than they are Republican.

00:10:13.400 What do you think?

00:10:13.900 You're absolutely correct.

00:10:16.440 If we – you know, a lot of times Republicans, we just want to be left alone.

00:10:19.840 I'm no different.

00:10:20.580 I never dreamed I'd ever be involved in politics.

00:10:23.280 I just – it wasn't who I was.

00:10:26.080 I just got fed up one day by saying you're never going to change anything you're willing to tolerate.

00:10:29.940 And I was tolerating the absolute overbearing regulations of the federal government and even the state government coming in and regulating our businesses out of control.

00:10:42.100 I mean I tell everybody that Washington, D.C. government was never designed to create jobs.

00:10:48.080 It's designed to create an opportunity for entrepreneurs, for go-getters, for world changers to create those jobs.

00:10:53.140 And as a Republican Party, we just – we sometimes just want to be kind of left alone, like don't bother me.

00:10:58.900 We'll go away.

00:10:59.600 It's not okay to be that way.

00:11:01.040 It's not okay to be passive anymore.

00:11:02.820 We've got to take the fight to them.

00:11:04.820 It's not okay that they show up and they let – they become the silent – we're the silent majority, and they become the – yet the one that everybody pays attention to because they're taking time off of whatever they're doing, and they're letting their voices be heard.

00:11:19.860 Now, granted, we've got to fight against the social media and the left-leaning liberal media too, but we have to stand up and go to work.

00:11:29.160 We've got to take our country back, and Donald Trump did that.

00:11:32.300 Donald Trump was willing to stand up and fight, and there isn't another president that we've ever had that I believe could have stood up underneath that type of pressure.

00:11:41.760 I mean, he's the first president, I guess, in our history, other than George Washington, that actually cost him money when he went to the president's seat.

00:11:49.900 He didn't get wealthy after he left.

00:11:52.200 He was wealthy before he left, and Forbes said that his net worth dropped by over $600 million just because he decided to serve our country.

00:11:58.860 The great fact about Donald Trump is he promised everybody what he would do.

00:12:04.740 He went, and in four years, he did it.

00:12:06.940 And incredibly, the American people couldn't stand his rough edges and his straight-ahead approach.

00:12:14.140 And I have to tell you, I think that there's much blame to be spread around.

00:12:19.060 But William Barr, his attorney general, refused to tell the American people that Vice President Biden was lying through his daggum teeth in the second and final debate in 2020.

00:12:32.420 And he changed the outcome of the election.

00:12:35.740 There's no doubt about it.

00:12:37.160 William Barr changed history and cheated Donald Trump and cheated the American people.

00:12:43.120 But we also know the Democrats cheated.

00:12:46.100 They changed laws.

00:12:47.480 We've got voting seasons instead of voting days.

00:12:51.140 We've got mail-in ballots.

00:12:52.660 I mean, we've got every kind of game going on.

00:12:55.440 And the Republicans, you talk about passive.

00:12:57.940 They're beyond passive. 0.96

00:12:59.420 I mean, they are mushrooms.

00:13:01.500 I get what you're saying.

00:13:02.200 But what I'm saying is it's hard to put yourself in that mindset.

00:13:05.920 So you can't think about being a cheater if you don't think like a cheater is what I'm getting to.

00:13:10.280 You can't – it's hard for you to even fathom what is capable if you're not in that mindset.

00:13:18.540 You know, the best way to catch a thief is by a thief.

00:13:20.960 The best way to catch a cheater is with a cheater because they think that way.

00:13:24.700 And if you don't, you just can't get there.

00:13:26.460 And I think a lot of times we were guilty of being, as you said, passive because it's not – as a Republican, a lot of times, it's just not what we think of.

00:13:34.780 And so we have woke up.

00:13:37.100 We've learned a lot.

00:13:38.800 Now, voter integrity is huge.

00:13:41.520 Election integrity is huge.

00:13:43.920 And we have worked with states.

00:13:46.860 We have worked with trying to change state laws.

00:13:49.600 You know, a lot of times people get confused that they want the federal government.

00:13:52.520 They want D.C. to do something about it.

00:13:54.020 It's the last thing we need is D.C. to do anything about our election laws. 0.99

00:13:58.040 That's called federal takeover at that point.

00:14:00.060 We need to make sure we work with the states and strengthen the state laws.

00:14:04.120 And we've done that.

00:14:04.880 I mean, you saw in Georgia where we had the highest turnout in history on their voter turnout for a primary election.

00:14:12.640 And, of course, what you saw was Stacey Abrams go out there and said, well, that doesn't – that doesn't mean that they didn't suppress a vote of the most vulnerable.

00:14:20.720 What?

00:14:21.160 You said that you were going to suppress the voter turnout, and we had larger turnout, and now you're still making an excuse because we supposedly attacked the most vulnerable?

00:14:30.320 Where did the extra votes come from then?

00:14:32.020 Because you got all the votes you needed to win the election.

00:14:35.160 So tell me where the other votes come out because we had large – we had the largest turnout than what you've had.

00:14:40.800 I mean, you look – look at the people involved in the effort to impeach the president over twice in his term.

00:14:48.780 Look at the number of lawyers in the Congress and the Senate.

00:14:52.580 Look at the number of lawyers involved in the deep state involved in this entire sham, this effort to overthrow a sitting president.

00:15:01.540 And you know what they have in common?

00:15:03.140 Man, they're a whole bunch of lawyers.

00:15:06.020 So I'm not so sure you're too far from the criminal class when you start talking to a lawyer.

00:15:11.120 And Republicans, they got a bunch of lawyers working for them too, don't they?

00:15:17.020 Well, of course we do.

00:15:18.740 You have to.

00:15:19.380 Everything you do today, you've got to have lawyers.

00:15:21.220 And there's some good ones and there's some bad ones.

00:15:23.300 And so we all know that every time I have to pay an attorney bill, I feel like that's the bad guy, but yet I hired him.

00:15:29.040 And so there's good ones and there's bad ones.

00:15:31.320 But this brings me to something that I've always said, Luke, that if you're ever going to change Washington, D.C., then that means we've got to start changing the resume we send there.

00:15:39.900 Because if your resume is that you've only been in a certain field, you've only been an attorney or you've only been a politician, then you're only going to think that way.

00:15:53.480 And if you're thinking that way, then you're not what you would really consider a citizen legislator.

00:15:57.880 If you're an ex-business owner and you're not operating businesses today, you don't know what it's like.

00:16:02.560 If you're not coming home and living there until the same rules, you don't know what it's like.

00:16:05.940 And so if you're ever going to change D.C., then we've got to start changing the people we send there.

00:16:09.220 And that means we need people to stand up, good people, to stand up and run for office.

00:16:15.240 And I think we see that.

00:16:16.500 I think you're seeing that in the Republican Party, that average individuals are standing up and running now, not just your recycled politicians.

00:16:24.160 Do you think there ought to be a litmus test?

00:16:26.420 Are you America first?

00:16:27.700 Are you make America great again?

00:16:30.300 Are you a Trump Republican?

00:16:32.400 Because, you know, that's what he's doing.

00:16:34.000 He's won 100 endorsements.

00:16:37.160 He's won those races.

00:16:38.440 I believe he's lost something like six.

00:16:40.960 That is the most incredible.

00:16:43.560 Of course, they only talk about the six that he lost, right?

00:16:45.880 Of course.

00:16:46.980 He's Nostradamus, but they want him to be able to read tea leaves, too.

00:16:52.380 The left-wing media is a bunch of creeps, and they work for corporate Marxists, to the point of fact, who support BLM, Antifa.

00:17:02.760 Everybody knows it.

00:17:03.760 There's no game here now.

00:17:05.920 Just as you said, everybody's waking up.

00:17:09.760 And this is a puppet president run by a bunch of Marxists.

00:17:14.040 And you can figure out the names, but we do have the only ex-president living in D.C. still, and that would be Mr. Barack Obama, who seems to have a bigger influence within the White House than does Joe Biden.

00:17:27.260 That's understandable, given the state of Joe Biden's mind.

00:17:31.480 The mind.

00:17:32.180 But it's not okay, given the consent of the governed.

00:17:35.380 Yeah, you know, the litany test, I tell everybody, the litany test is what we do in a campaign.

00:17:41.360 That's what we have forms for, that we have debates for.

00:17:44.780 That's why we're supposed to make ourselves available and get in front of the people, right?

00:17:48.040 That's what Joe Biden didn't do.

00:17:49.700 Joe Biden wasn't in front of the people.

00:17:51.060 He was preordained before the election even started.

00:17:54.800 And so nobody really got to see him because they protected him because they knew what type of mindset he was in.

00:18:00.580 But I think as a Republican Party, you better be supporting the president.

00:18:05.520 That better be important because you may like it or not like it.

00:18:08.820 It depends on who you are.

00:18:09.800 Me personally, I like his style.

00:18:11.240 I liked what he did.

00:18:11.960 I thought he made a business decision.

00:18:13.800 He went out there.

00:18:14.560 He wasn't trying to play politics.

00:18:15.980 That's not what we do in the business world.

00:18:17.200 In the business world, we don't play politics.

00:18:18.940 Let's get the job done and move forward.

00:18:20.880 And career politicians in Washington, D.C., it drove them nuts.

00:18:25.180 I mean, it literally drove them nuts.

00:18:26.600 And I was like, no, I get it.

00:18:27.440 I understand exactly what he's doing.

00:18:28.800 And I don't want to have a meeting for the sake of having a meeting.

00:18:30.860 I don't want to have a dog and pony show with people here.

00:18:32.820 Let's be productive, move down the road.

00:18:34.760 And the people of Washington, D.C., that just drove them nuts.

00:18:39.220 The political world couldn't understand what he was trying to do.

00:18:41.880 But if you're not willing to say, yeah, let's do the American first. 0.58

00:18:45.320 Congressman, I think they understood very well.

00:18:48.040 I think they understood very well.

00:18:49.360 That's why the Russian hoax was put together. 0.97

00:18:52.140 The October surprise.

00:18:53.220 That's why there were two impeachments against him and FBI investigations, including the special counsel investigation that went on forever.

00:19:01.140 That's why he's being harassed from every jurisdiction by in blue states by left wing.

00:19:07.460 I mean, we know why, because they couldn't control him.

00:19:11.100 Yeah.

00:19:11.480 And that's seven years, if anybody's counting, that's seven years of persecution for a man, his family, and many of his administration who were trying to do the right thing, did the right thing, accomplished more in four years than any president since Abraham Lincoln.

00:19:26.960 And he has to put up with a bunch of belly aching, phony left wingers.

00:19:31.540 It's crazy. 0.78

00:19:33.600 And he sacrificed.

00:19:35.220 He sacrificed so much.

00:19:36.700 Do you have time for me to tell you a quick story about the president, about President Trump?

00:19:40.980 You betcha.

00:19:41.780 And so I, you know, you can judge a lot about a man and his family, right?

00:19:48.880 We see a lot of successful people that their kids just didn't turn out so well.

00:19:54.520 They just didn't spend time with them.

00:19:56.120 You know, I tell everybody, my priorities are God's family and then everybody else.

00:20:00.200 And the president, his kids love him.

00:20:02.880 You know, they'll do anything for him.

00:20:04.540 You can see how close they are.

00:20:06.200 And they were raised privileged, but they were raised to know how to work.

00:20:09.920 And he took time for them.

00:20:11.580 Regardless of how busy this guy was, he always took time for them.

00:20:14.140 Well, my son, in January 20th, or January 17th of 2020, he had a dramatic brain injury.

00:20:21.480 We lost him.

00:20:22.920 He had severe oxygen depletion.

00:20:24.620 He came back, but he had to relearn everything.

00:20:28.540 This kid was a world-class athlete, literally world-class athlete, wrestled all over the world, 17-0 internationally.

00:20:35.280 One of the best kids in the nation.

00:20:37.380 And I'm not just saying it because he's my son.

00:20:38.880 This is just him.

00:20:39.720 So when he woke up, when he came out of it, he couldn't even touch his nose.

00:20:44.100 He had to learn how to walk again.

00:20:45.360 He had to learn how to read and write.

00:20:48.820 He was doing trig in school, and he had to learn everything.

00:20:51.800 And we didn't keep it hid from him at all.

00:20:53.860 Well, the president found out about it because when he came out of it, they started him asking questions.

00:20:58.180 They said, what's your name?

00:21:00.060 He didn't know.

00:21:00.500 What year it is?

00:21:00.980 They didn't know.

00:21:01.480 They asked him who I was.

00:21:02.680 He knew who I was, but he couldn't pick dad with it.

00:21:05.540 They asked him what happened.

00:21:07.480 He couldn't tell him.

00:21:08.420 They asked him who the president was.

00:21:09.380 And he got this cocky grin on his face, and I kid you not, he said, Trump.

00:21:12.720 And everybody laughed because that was the only question he got right.

00:21:16.600 Well, the president found out about that, and the president called me tough guy.

00:21:20.140 And he's like, let me get this right.

00:21:21.140 Let me get this right, tough guy.

00:21:21.980 He knew who I was, but he didn't know who you was, and he thought that was hilarious.

00:21:26.640 Yeah, absolutely.

00:21:27.380 So the president took a very special interest in him.

00:21:30.080 And we were in Bakersfield at the Center for Neural Skills all of 2020 and most of 2021, and I was with my son.

00:21:35.400 I stayed with him.

00:21:36.500 We have six kids, so my wife stayed back in Oklahoma with the other kids. 0.97

00:21:39.900 Because my son, I'd have assistants to every rehab every time he went to switch classes every 45 minutes, which we did 10 to 12 hours rehab a day at the Center for Neural Skills, which are just outstanding individuals.

00:21:50.620 And it was a tough time, but it was an awesome time, too.

00:21:52.780 But the president, he called all the time.

00:21:55.840 He would check on me.

00:21:56.800 Offered so much stuff.

00:21:57.940 He offered to even help finance at one time, and I was like, sir, we're good.

00:22:00.800 We've got this.

00:22:01.360 But he's like, can I do something for you?

00:22:03.140 He offered to send a plane for my family to fly them out so they could see us.

00:22:07.160 He ended up, he said, I'd love to meet him.

00:22:09.780 And so I said, well, he can't travel.

00:22:11.640 And he says, well, I'll come to him.

00:22:12.760 So he came to Bakersfield.

00:22:13.960 He did a rally, of course, when he came to Bakersfield.

00:22:16.120 In the middle of the rally, he saw Jim out there in the audience, and he stopped.

00:22:20.280 He stopped right in the middle of the rally.

00:22:21.820 Now, you know his cameras went everywhere.

00:22:23.480 Cameras went everywhere with him.

00:22:24.840 He pulled Jim on stage and just started just, I mean, he didn't care who all was there.

00:22:30.720 Lou, he just knelt down.

00:22:32.000 Here's the most powerful man in the world.

00:22:34.940 Knelt down because my son's five foot three because it stunted his growth, and so he's

00:22:38.360 never going to be any taller than that.

00:22:39.480 And the president's a big guy, and he leaned down and just loved on him in front of everybody.

00:22:45.820 And I thought, oh, my goodness, here's the guy that he doesn't have to do this.

00:22:49.520 And the most important thing to him right now is my son, my son.

00:22:54.620 And then he turned to the crowd, and he told just a short story about what was going on

00:22:58.780 with Jim.

00:22:59.960 And if Obama would have done that, if Biden would do anything, it would have been all

00:23:03.980 over the national news.

00:23:05.220 I mean, everybody would want to know who this kid is, and oh, my goodness, did you see the

00:23:08.480 heart of the president and all this stuff?

00:23:10.780 Not one story other than local ran a story on this.

00:23:13.980 But after that, Lou, he took us to the back, and he was talking to us.

00:23:17.520 And his handlers were saying, sir, we got to go, we got to go, we got to go.

00:23:21.400 And it was just me, Jim, and the president.

00:23:25.000 And we were in the back room, and his handlers were saying, sir, we've got to go.

00:23:28.740 And the president wasn't talking to me.

00:23:30.160 He only talked to Jim.

00:23:31.260 He was encouraging him.

00:23:32.580 He sat down beside him.

00:23:33.800 He was poking him on the chest and just telling him what kind of man he's going to be.

00:23:37.540 And this isn't the end of it.

00:23:38.820 He's going to recover from this.

00:23:40.380 And at this time, my son was still having severe short-term memory loss.

00:23:43.980 This is the first memory that he remembers is this, is the president speaking into him.

00:23:50.080 And his handlers one time turned around, or he turned around, he looked at his handlers,

00:23:53.820 and he pointed at them.

00:23:54.680 He says, I guarantee you that plane won't leave without me.

00:23:57.940 And he turned back around, and he just spent another 10 minutes just talking to my son.

00:24:04.760 And this was two and a half months after the accident.

00:24:07.700 And this was his first long-term memory that he got.

00:24:10.980 And this is the president that we had.

00:24:13.520 He cared for my son.

00:24:15.080 He didn't have to.

00:24:15.880 It wasn't for a dog and pony show.

00:24:17.520 It wasn't for publicity.

00:24:18.760 It's because that's who he is.

00:24:20.260 And you can see that with his kids and his grandkids.

00:24:22.900 And there wasn't very seldom a week that went by that the president wasn't calling and checking on him.

00:24:28.240 He didn't do that for any other reason, but that's who he is.

00:24:31.240 And so when he says he loves America, when he says, make America great again, Lou, that's something he believes in every fiber of his body.

00:24:39.060 And he's willing to do whatever it takes for it because he loves this country just like he loves his kids.

00:24:44.200 And honestly, the way he loved my son, and I'll never forget it as long as I live, that'll be a memory that I'll always, always, always stick with me and my boy.

00:24:52.340 How's your son doing?

00:24:54.940 He's doing great.

00:24:55.860 I mean, you know, it's been a long road.

00:24:57.580 He's changing.

00:24:58.540 He's not wrestling anymore, unfortunately, but he's still a heck of an athlete in certain areas.

00:25:03.920 He still struggles.

00:25:05.020 He was a math genius, but he still struggles with that.

00:25:09.060 He still struggles with writing a little bit, but he's a hardworking kid.

00:25:12.260 And when we went through the rehab, the first initial testing, and they told us how bad it really was, it broke me.

00:25:23.220 I mean, I was crying like a baby.

00:25:24.180 I've never cried so much in my life.

00:25:25.640 I can only imagine.

00:25:26.360 And Jim and I, we walked outside, and he goes, I said, Jim, how are you feeling?

00:25:30.920 And he says, well, Dad, quote, Dad, I learned it once.

00:25:34.080 I can learn it again.

00:25:35.540 And I was like, amen to that.

00:25:36.500 Let's go.

00:25:37.080 And we went through 18 months of rehab.

00:25:39.660 They said it was going to be three years.

00:25:40.780 We were back at grade level in 10 months and totally released in 18 months.

00:25:48.120 I mean, so it was tough, but we're good.

00:25:51.080 We can all only imagine how tough it was on you, your family, and Jim.

00:25:58.040 What a wonderful story.

00:25:59.460 I'm so glad we got to hear it.

00:26:02.400 And thank you for that, Congressman.

00:26:05.440 We, you know, just so you know, we think pretty highly on this podcast of President Trump.

00:26:13.200 I think there are tens of millions of folks who do as well.

00:26:17.760 And you know what?

00:26:19.400 I love one more story about the man who actually saved this country, I truly believe, with four years in Washington, D.C., and a great sacrifice and cost to him.

00:26:30.560 And I am thrilled, and talk about strength, I'm thrilled that he is willing to even consider running for president again against all of the opposition, the skullduggery, and the vicious and evil forces that are arrayed against him.

00:26:48.140 Evil.

00:26:48.760 Evil.

00:26:49.480 I use the word evil.

00:26:50.400 You're right.

00:26:51.480 Congressman, thanks so much.

00:26:52.800 I appreciate it.
