The John-Henry Westen Show - 16-year-old Boy Suspended for Defending Girls' Privacy Against Pro-LGBT Catholic School

00:00:00.000 Hey everyone, I have a time-sensitive announcement to share with you.

00:00:03.080 Earlier this month, LifeSite was hit with another online censorship attack,

00:00:07.460 this time on TikTok, after publishing the truth about the corrupt administration in the United States.

00:00:13.120 In fact, LifeSite is still permanently banned on Facebook,

00:00:15.880 and our main YouTube channel was wiped out,

00:00:18.280 which is why we are only on the John Henry Weston Show YouTube channel.

00:00:21.680 So, this is because the prince of this world hates the truth,

00:00:25.420 and we at LifeSite are committed to bringing you the fullness of the truth,

00:00:30.140 even if the globalists and atheists don't want you to hear it.

00:00:33.880 To help us push forward with our truth-telling mission,

00:00:37.140 I urge you to join us during this special Advent and Christmas season with your prayers and almsgiving.

00:00:43.100 Help us at LifeSite build a culture of life for you, your children, your grandchildren,

00:00:54.140 you promote our pro-life and pro-family mission of building a culture of life around the world.

00:00:59.480 In fact, when you support LifeSite, I urge you to write a prayer in our comment box.

00:01:04.440 It's a perfect way to infuse your prayer and almsgiving with a charity-like LifeSite that you can trust,

00:01:10.420 knowing that we will personally read and pray over all your intentions.

00:01:14.280 We need your prayers and almsgiving now more than ever.

00:01:17.720 We at LifeSite must reach our end-of-the-year fundraising goal,

00:01:20.960 and we have no corporate sponsor, which makes LifeSite's grassroots support from people like you miraculous.

00:01:27.620 So please, as you listen to today's interview,

00:01:31.060 click in the donation link at the top in the description of this video

00:01:34.440 and offer your almsgiving and prayer to LifeSite News.

00:01:37.940 This is the moment we need all of our viewers, even first-time viewers.

00:01:42.180 Join the mission for life, faith, family, and freedom with LifeSite.

00:01:45.520 Join us now with a financial gift of any amount by clicking the first link in the description below

00:01:51.520 and be a force for good in the world.

00:01:53.640 Also, don't forget to pray with your financial gift.

00:01:56.540 Every little bit helps.

00:01:58.180 So thank you, and may God bless you.

00:02:15.520 What if I told you that there was a Catholic school that was doing the whole transgender bathroom thing, 1.00

00:02:39.440 and the girls in that high school were pretty upset and wanted protection in their own bathrooms. 1.00

00:02:46.420 They wanted privacy.

00:02:47.300 They wanted to be able to use their bathrooms in peace without boys being in the bathroom.

00:02:52.940 What if in the school there was one heroic young man willing to speak up for his friends who were young women

00:03:03.120 and go to the principal on their behalf and ask him,

00:03:07.980 can we please give these young ladies their own privacy? 1.00

00:03:14.000 What if the principal said, hmm, nah.

00:03:19.300 But what if the young man said, you know what, we're going to do a walkout to insist on this

00:03:24.400 for my friends, these young women.

00:03:27.020 And what if he were suspended by the principal for doing that?

00:03:34.840 Wouldn't that be unreal?

00:03:37.040 Imagine if he were a Christian, a non-Catholic Christian, and this happened in a Catholic school. 0.82

00:03:41.900 What an insanely upside-down example that would give him of what the Catholic faith is.

00:03:48.040 Unfortunately, that happened.

00:03:49.300 And we have with us the young man who is now suspended from this Catholic school.

00:03:59.320 This is the John Henry Weston Show.

00:04:01.460 Stay tuned.

00:04:19.300 Josh Alexander, welcome to the program.

00:04:32.840 Thank you for having me.

00:04:34.800 Let's begin as we always do with the sign of the cross.

00:04:37.840 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

00:04:42.900 Amen.

00:04:43.240 Okay, Josh, first of all, I want to say, on behalf of all Catholics, thank you for what

00:04:52.160 you've done.

00:04:53.480 What you did was a real show of support for decency in our world and for the Christian faith.

00:05:00.320 And the fact that you were mistreated by this principal, that's unconscionable.

00:05:07.100 So, please tell us your story, if you would, from the beginning.

00:05:11.360 How did this actually roll out?

00:05:12.380 Okay, so previously, I was enrolled in the public board, and I had been known for doing

00:05:22.020 the Freedom Convoy Solidarity Walkouts.

00:05:26.020 And we got a little bit of media coverage from that, and I got suspended maybe three or

00:05:30.100 four times.

00:05:31.460 And after that, after that year, I decided to switch to the Catholic board.

00:05:36.300 So, this September, I enrolled, and I started going there.

00:05:42.980 And maybe after a month or so, maybe a month and a half, it started to become pretty evident

00:05:49.620 to me that there were a lot of confused kids in that school.

00:05:53.520 And unfortunately, they had been taking certain alternative routes.

00:06:01.480 And it was really starting to pose a bit of an issue with the privacy thing.

00:06:06.480 And a couple female students addressed me about this, and they complained and said that there's

00:06:13.200 male students that are using male washrooms.

00:06:15.500 And I took it to the administrators after having quite a heated class debate about it, where

00:06:24.340 both staff and students were kind of shouting me down.

00:06:28.940 And I got some pretty crazy insults.

00:06:32.180 Like, I was called a racist for believing there should be separate washrooms.

00:06:36.640 And I said, there's only two genders. 1.00

00:06:39.680 And apparently, that was also debatable.

00:06:42.760 And my teacher decided to educate the class and tell them that there's multiple genders. 1.00

00:06:49.040 And I'm intolerant for not believing that.

00:06:52.760 And so, I took it to the administrative level.

00:06:56.560 And they told me that my concerns wouldn't be legitimized until I brought in a female student 0.99

00:07:01.420 to express the same ones.

00:07:03.380 And so, I actually found a female student that was 1.00

00:07:06.640 brave enough to speak out, even under all that pressure.

00:07:09.940 And she came with me to the office.

00:07:12.960 And they were much more polite with her.

00:07:15.760 However, they still refused to take any action.

00:07:19.980 And when I went in and inquired for the second time, I'm like, okay, what's going on?

00:07:24.000 I've already brought a female student. 1.00

00:07:25.300 What are you guys going to do?

00:07:26.720 And they completely dismissed it.

00:07:29.580 And they said they didn't want to continue this discussion with me.

00:07:34.880 And they removed me from their office.

00:07:36.640 So, I decided to edit a video, put out a poster, and stage another walkout.

00:07:44.100 And hopefully get some attention, get it out to the parents, and see what happens.

00:07:49.040 But they ended up suspending me while I was at home.

00:07:55.760 And so, I hadn't been at school for a few days.

00:07:59.100 And my parents got an email.

00:08:01.740 I got suspended for supposedly violating the safe schools policy through my social media.

00:08:07.900 And I didn't end up being able to go to the school to encourage kids to walk out.

00:08:14.240 And while I was gone, they told them all they wouldn't have transportation home.

00:08:18.360 In some instances, they informed the students it would ruin their local reputations if they were seen with me at the walkout.

00:08:24.200 And they kind of just used their fear-mongering to disengage the students.

00:08:29.960 And at the end, when the walkout actually happened, maybe only 10 to 15 students ended up walking out.

00:08:37.620 Before then, the numbers were looking drastically higher.

00:08:40.300 But school kind of intervened.

00:08:46.740 And we ended up getting counter-protests.

00:08:49.360 I had three pride groups that showed up at my school.

00:08:54.060 There was even a union bussing people up from Ottawa.

00:08:57.460 And, yeah, it was pretty dramatic.

00:09:04.100 There's about maybe 100, 120 of them, I'd say.

00:09:07.340 And they posted on social media calling, I have an organization called Safe Canada.

00:09:13.960 And they called it, they're labeled a terror group.

00:09:17.820 The Ontario Party with Derek Sloan.

00:09:21.220 And Freedom Fighters Canada, who's run by Jeremy O'Sullivan.

00:09:25.420 They all joined me.

00:09:26.640 Their logos were on the poster and everything.

00:09:28.920 And there's another, I believe it was inside the Ottawa Valley, was the news network that labeled them just anti-trans hate groups.

00:09:37.340 So, the media response is pretty negative.

00:09:42.120 But, yeah, I'm still suspended indefinitely.

00:09:45.980 And I don't know, there's talk of me being expelled.

00:09:49.140 I know the police are also involved in the school's investigation towards my hate-based comments.

00:09:55.800 And that's where it's at right now.

00:09:57.740 Let's back up for a second.

00:09:58.760 Aaron, who is Josh Alexander?

00:10:02.340 Because you sound incredible.

00:10:05.120 And you're very, very well-spoken.

00:10:07.160 You've got another organization.

00:10:08.440 You've already been doing walkouts for the Freedom Convoy, which is just incredible.

00:10:13.520 Who are you?

00:10:14.400 Where did you come from?

00:10:15.720 And how old are you?

00:10:17.420 I don't want to start with how old are you.

00:10:19.000 Yeah, I'm 16.

00:10:20.720 Wait.

00:10:22.100 16.

00:10:23.220 Yeah.

00:10:23.460 Okay.

00:10:26.040 All right.

00:10:26.480 Keep going from there.

00:10:28.400 So, I don't even, I don't know where I'd start.

00:10:32.460 I guess I was homeschooled up until grade seven.

00:10:35.680 So, that certainly helped me stay away from the woke indoctrination of our education system.

00:10:41.640 But, just during the entire pandemic, as I call it, there was a, there seemed to be a lot of low morale amongst the students.

00:10:55.240 And, like, you could see it in the suicide rates.

00:10:57.460 You could, like, it wasn't, it wasn't just a distance that you could actually experience it firsthand.

00:11:04.560 Like, see what was happening to your peers.

00:11:06.920 And, I didn't want any part of that.

00:11:10.280 So, that kind of, kind of sparked my civil disobedience there and encouraged students to walk out.

00:11:19.140 And, that's kind of where it started.

00:11:21.100 And, ever since then, we've got media attention.

00:11:23.580 I've given some speeches and been invited to a lot of different events and all that.

00:11:30.080 So, when this issue came up, it kind of was just, like, it was, that's what I went to.

00:11:35.020 It was my first nature to go do that.

00:11:36.740 And, that's how it went down.

00:11:40.280 Just a quick note before we return.

00:11:43.080 If you would like to stay up to date on LifeSite's coverage of the latest life, family, and culture news, subscribe to one of our many newsletters by going to lifesitenews.com slash subscribe.

00:12:02.900 And, now, back to the video.

00:12:04.600 Look, I've got a letter here.

00:12:08.900 There have been people already advocating on your behalf.

00:12:11.840 But, this is a letter from, it's the chairperson of the Catholic School Board.

00:12:18.160 In fact, the chairperson of the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board.

00:12:24.080 His name is Bob Schrader.

00:12:26.080 He quotes, as backing him up, the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

00:12:31.920 And, it says,

00:12:32.900 In other words, that first part, which talked about restricting based on sex, is all thrown out the window.

00:12:54.680 Because, this absolute nonsense of saying, a person lives their own trans identity, whatever.

00:13:03.480 We've seen so many examples of men abusing women in these locker rooms, in bathrooms. 0.91

00:13:14.080 And, for the excuse, they call themselves trans men. 0.99

00:13:18.220 This is a complete insanity. 0.93

00:13:20.460 So, okay, you're a really young person.

00:13:26.800 You've been raised, thanks be to God, obviously in a Christian home and homeschooled to keep you, as you said, out of the woke agenda from being indoctrinated in it. 0.59

00:13:35.460 What's your motivating factor here?

00:13:37.260 What was motivating you to take it on to go to the principal for these young women?

00:13:45.140 I don't know.

00:13:45.980 Just as a young man, I mean, it felt like my duty to do it.

00:13:49.760 It just felt like a responsibility.

00:13:52.820 I knew I could do something about it from my past experiences and decided to give it a shot.

00:13:59.940 I wouldn't personally be able to live knowing I could have done something and didn't do it.

00:14:07.340 Chivalry seems to be a dead art these days.

00:14:09.960 It seems to come naturally to you, praise God.

00:14:11.680 So, you've been out touring, and obviously your story is, it's so emblematic of the hell that we're living through right now as a culture.

00:14:24.000 And the depths to which the Catholic Church and many Christian churches have plummeted in this regard.

00:14:32.520 There's all sorts of indoctrination, if you will, into the woke agenda by all sorts of church leaders.

00:14:38.000 And it's not only on the LGBT agenda, it's also on the plandemic, as you mentioned earlier. 0.87

00:14:46.660 So, what are your plans for the future?

00:14:49.500 What do you see yourself doing?

00:14:50.420 Well, just recently, like you said, I've been touring.

00:14:54.380 I've gone to a lot of churches and all that, and just trying to raise awareness to it, make sure that everybody knows what's going on.

00:15:02.680 And I've got a bunch of ideas in the back of my head.

00:15:07.900 We're starting to kind of hammer out the details, but we're looking to take more action.

00:15:13.240 I mean, it never was supposed to end with one school walkout where I get suspended, and that's game over.

00:15:20.960 And something more needs to happen.

00:15:23.060 And the churches need to know, the parents need to know, we kind of need to, in my opinion, stop fighting and bickering over a denomination or whatever,

00:15:34.440 and just kind of unite as the universal church and start taking action against the evil in our world that's actually affecting our youth right now, the entire next generation.

00:15:42.260 And so, we've got a couple ideas.

00:15:46.540 We aren't quite ready to announce them yet, but we're just starting to network now and get ready for whatever's going on next.

00:15:54.340 Very good.

00:15:55.000 And what's the name of your group called, and where can people find out about it?

00:15:58.080 Save Canada.

00:15:59.060 So, you can go to my website.

00:16:00.900 It's savecanada.army.

00:16:03.460 And we've got a store there, and there's some updates posted.

00:16:06.940 But, honestly, the best way to keep posted is just look at my personal social media.

00:16:13.060 So, you can find me on Facebook under my name or go to my Instagram.

00:16:17.660 And, yeah, there's quite a few places you can find us.

00:16:21.120 What would be your message to young people who are facing challenges?

00:16:25.740 Both challenges in terms of if they try to push back, they're suspended or threatened with suspension.

00:16:32.080 They're given low grades in classes where they write the truth.

00:16:35.840 So, they usually just, well, I'll just write whatever the teacher wants.

00:16:40.040 And many young women are sort of – they feel totally uncomfortable, and they have to make do to try and do whatever they can to avoid the situation of using their own locker rooms or bathrooms. 0.90

00:16:52.420 Well, we have a powerful voice.

00:16:57.720 A lot of young people don't realize that.

00:17:00.140 But, in my experience, I've gone to two different high schools, and it usually takes one voice to speak out against something before you get that conversation going.

00:17:09.300 And, to put it in simple terms, if my voice didn't count, I would still be at school right now.

00:17:16.720 It's one o'clock.

00:17:17.600 I'd probably be in my math class right now.

00:17:19.780 So, obviously, our voices matter.

00:17:23.260 And so, speak out.

00:17:25.100 Like, it's – you will face backlash, but you're not alone.

00:17:30.080 And, like, the amount of support I've reached, like, from across the country, it's been incredible.

00:17:36.960 It's been the most encouraging week of my life.

00:17:38.680 Like, the amount of churches I've been to, the communities I've seen.

00:17:42.500 And so, yes, don't stop.

00:17:45.620 Don't quit.

00:17:46.160 Just keep speaking out.

00:17:47.900 And the more of us that do it, the faster we'll accomplish what we need to get done.

00:17:54.720 Amazing.

00:17:55.160 You truly are heroic in this situation.

00:18:01.260 Praise God.

00:18:01.880 Keep up your prayers.

00:18:02.700 We're going to pray for you.

00:18:04.020 We've got a petition to support you that we're going to be delivering.

00:18:09.760 And we really hope that that gains a lot of signatures.

00:18:12.620 But we're also going to get people to call into the school.

00:18:16.580 What's happening is unconscionable.

00:18:18.160 People need to hear about it.

00:18:19.680 And hopefully, the authorities will hear.

00:18:22.900 Even if they don't change their minds, they'll at least be able to hear that there's a great number of Canadians who support you,

00:18:29.160 who support sanity in our schools, and support young ladies in their right to privacies in their own bathrooms.

00:18:36.840 Any final words for us, Josh?

00:18:39.980 Don't stop as long as you've got the Lord on your side.

00:18:44.180 Like, we have to remember we're pilgrims on this earth.

00:18:47.500 So, just keep up the good fight and make sure you have God in your corner and you'll be all right.

00:18:56.060 Amen to that.

00:18:56.840 We're going to flash up on the screen right now both the number for the principal at the school

00:19:00.840 and, again, Bob Schrader, the chairman of the Catholic School Board in Renfrew, his number as well.

00:19:07.740 Please feel free to reach out to them.

00:19:09.720 Go to lifepetitions.com to sign our petition in support of Josh Alexander.

00:19:15.100 Thank you again.

00:19:16.260 Josh, God bless you.
