Transcript

00:00:00.000 I will do my best to be faithful to Christ and to serve His church as the best I can,
00:00:06.760 as one of His shepherds. I'm just one, but I do believe deeply,
00:00:12.440 and that is what gives me the joy and the strength to continue.
00:00:22.440 Hey, my friends. Welcome to this special episode of The John Henry Weston Show.
00:00:25.620 I wanted to give you some behind-the-scenes, some more personal things that happened right here in Baltimore
00:00:32.260 at the U.S. Bishops' Conference, outside the Bishops' Conference, right outside the front doors of the hotel
00:00:38.340 where Bishop Strickland led his rosary rally. Again, not staged or planned for Bishop Strickland,
00:00:44.600 already booked in. Remember, he had the tickets anyway, so came here just to pray.
00:00:50.000 He was told by the nuncio he could not go into the meeting. He shouldn't show himself there, so he didn't.
00:00:54.840 He stayed outside. He's been praying here for days, and he was faithful to that promise to lead the rosary
00:01:01.020 that was already scheduled. Now, unlike most years, when the rosary comes, you know, a couple dozen
00:01:06.820 people show up. Well, there's hundreds of people showed up, and we want to give you some of the rosary.
00:01:13.660 We aired the full rosary at LifeSite News. If you haven't seen that, please go check it out,
00:01:16.800 because what he said during the rosary, his meditations during the rosary, all from the heart,
00:01:20.900 were truly, truly beautiful. We spoke to a bunch of people behind the scenes as well who were here,
00:01:27.080 some of the leaders who were here. We had a great crew from LifeSite here. We had Michael Hichborn
00:01:32.460 is here, Paul Thees, some of you might know from his own show, Sister Dee Dee Byrne, Father James Altman,
00:01:39.740 these amazing folks all coming here to support the Bishop, to pray for the Bishops in there.
00:01:46.840 And stay tuned to this special episode of the John Henry Weston Show for all that and much more.
00:01:53.020 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
00:01:57.480 We are here to pray for our world, for our nation, for our church, for all of God's people throughout the world.
00:02:05.500 I thank you for your support to me, but I encourage you to turn that support to simply supporting our Catholic faith,
00:02:17.820 praying for Pope Francis, all the Cardinals and Bishops, that hearts that, if any heart, without judging, we don't know,
00:02:25.820 but any heart that is distant from the Sacred Heart of Christ, especially among our hierarchy,
00:02:32.840 that they may be drawn closer to the Sacred Heart of Christ through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
00:02:38.760 That is a prayer for all of us as we pray this Rosary.
00:02:42.600 We are here after the conclusion of the Holy Rosary led by Bishop Strickland.
00:02:47.640 Right outside, as you can see, we are right in front of the Marriott where the Bishops are meeting.
00:02:52.200 Unlike popular rumour, the Bishop was told by the Nuncio he should not show up, so he didn't go into the building.
00:03:00.520 He has remained outside. He's been praying here for a few days now.
00:03:04.140 And today, he was already scheduled a long time ago to lead the Rosary for Defend Life,
00:03:08.300 the group that says the Rosary here outside the Bishops' Conference every year.
00:03:12.040 And he did that here with over 200 participants.
00:03:15.780 I think that's their largest showing.
00:03:17.860 Larry, you've been here for quite a few years.
00:03:20.240 Tell us what you think about what just happened.
00:03:22.800 Yeah, we've done this each year.
00:03:24.280 We've usually had a march from Planned Parenthood down with the Men's March and Father Imbarato and that.
00:03:32.100 This has been by far the best turnout.
00:03:34.920 Beautiful day, right?
00:03:36.860 We've had great weather.
00:03:38.700 Unusual for here at this time in November.
00:03:40.560 So impressive, his Rosary and the annotations to the Mysteries.
00:03:48.880 It's just so holy and prayerful.
00:03:51.780 And we've always known that.
00:03:53.320 You know, the first time I met him, he kneeled through the entire Rosary in front of Planned Parenthood with us in the cold.
00:04:00.540 My knees don't hold it, but he does.
00:04:02.120 And I guess he's got better calluses, you know.
00:04:06.320 But just everybody turning out and being supportive and hopeful and prayerful.
00:04:14.180 And his message is just great.
00:04:16.760 Larry Cigarno is one of the chief troublemakers for life.
00:04:20.280 He's been doing this many, many years.
00:04:22.600 You know what?
00:04:23.300 Why don't you tell everybody, why do you do this for so many years?
00:04:28.240 Oh, you know, that's a good question.
00:04:32.420 My morning knee-mail, some people do e-mail, I do knee-mail at Mass, tells me what I should do today.
00:04:38.380 And my biggest sin every day is not what I've done, but what I've failed to do to help save another baby.
00:04:45.660 So any opportunity I get to help bring sound and lighting and signs and flags and help to spread the word.
00:04:54.280 And where two or more are gathered, we pray.
00:04:57.940 Amen to that.
00:04:58.800 Thank you, Larry.
00:04:59.420 Thank you.
00:05:00.440 Hey, folks, this is Royce Hood.
00:05:02.440 Royce Hood is actually a board member at LifeSite News.
00:05:04.640 Many people don't know that.
00:05:05.960 You probably know him as the founder and leader of the Law of Life Summit.
00:05:10.000 You also might not know that, you know, Sister Wilhelmina, the incorrupt saint who founded that traditional order of nuns?
00:05:17.740 Well, he's the one doing a film on her, on the incorruptibles.
00:05:23.340 Royce, you are here outside of the Bishop's Conference meeting at the Marriott Hotel Inner Harbor here in Baltimore, Maryland.
00:05:30.900 Bishop Strickland just led the Holy Rosary.
00:05:33.360 What were your takeaways?
00:05:34.960 Yeah, I thought it was absolutely beautiful.
00:05:36.220 Everything that was done here today was done with the utmost reverence and respect for the church and for the Holy Spirit and for our Lord Jesus Christ.
00:05:45.820 And just seeing all these people coming from all over.
00:05:48.380 I've seen people that I know.
00:05:50.020 The people I saw in Gower when I was filming in Gower last May are here.
00:05:54.440 And it's just amazing, the spirit of hope and charity, really, frankly, towards our church.
00:06:00.660 Beautiful.
00:06:02.740 If, you know, what's your comment on Bishop Strickland, his removal, and just the state of the church in the United States?
00:06:10.680 Yeah, you know, it's troubling.
00:06:11.960 It's hard for me as a layperson to understand.
00:06:15.280 How do we understand?
00:06:16.520 How do we explain these things to our children?
00:06:18.180 How do we explain that one of the most conservative, orthodox, righteous men in the church is being removed from his position of power, right?
00:06:27.720 How do we explain these things?
00:06:29.060 So I'm very troubled by it.
00:06:31.520 I'm not smart enough to understand all the ramifications and everything that goes on.
00:06:35.820 But, John Henry, I can tell you this.
00:06:37.000 I pray about it a lot, and I pray for the church.
00:06:38.800 I pray for my children because we love the church.
00:06:42.000 This is the church that Christ made, right?
00:06:44.760 And so I'm confident long-term that our Lord will protect his church, but it doesn't mean it's not going to be a bit sticky in the meantime.
00:06:52.520 So hopefully Bishop Strickland can persevere and keep doing what he feels called to do.
00:06:56.780 And I think as faithful, we need to pray for our priests.
00:06:59.960 He said it.
00:07:00.480 He said it today.
00:07:01.240 Pray for the priests.
00:07:02.520 Pray for the bishops.
00:07:03.320 Pray for the Pope.
00:07:04.460 Let's not forget that either.
00:07:05.900 And pray for all of us sinners as well.
00:07:08.080 Amen.
00:07:08.560 Thank you, Royce.
00:07:09.160 Thank you, John Henry.
00:07:09.680 So, Michael Hichborn, Lepanto Institute, all of you know very, very well.
00:07:15.620 What brings you out here?
00:07:17.500 And you've come from not too, too far.
00:07:20.220 How far?
00:07:20.800 I drove four and a half hours because of D.C. traffic.
00:07:24.300 So, what do you make of what happened today?
00:07:27.700 And what do you make of the situation with Bishop Strickland?
00:07:30.400 Well, I'm here to pray with Bishop Strickland because I think that what happened to him was there is a very small precedent for the removal of a bishop without any canonical process.
00:07:42.560 But the problem is that Pope Francis superseded all canonical norms in order to remove him.
00:07:48.860 There are only four ways by which a bishop is removed from his office.
00:07:52.040 One is the death of the bishop, or he is transferred to another diocese, or he resigns.
00:07:57.220 But the fourth way by which a bishop is removed is what's called privation.
00:08:01.800 And privation is a punishment for an ecclesiastical crime.
00:08:05.140 But Bishop Strickland has not been charged, he's not been accused, and he's not been found guilty of any canonical crimes.
00:08:11.900 He's just been punished without due process.
00:08:15.160 And that's why on Twitter I actually said the morning that I found out that Pope Francis acted like a Soviet-era dictator.
00:08:21.520 Yeah, and that got picked up.
00:08:22.940 I think when I last checked, it was at 2.9 million views, that tweet.
00:08:28.840 That's quite interesting.
00:08:31.720 You've reported for years on the infidelity of the bishops, the bishops' conference particularly, funding pro-abortion ventures, funding anti-life, anti-family ventures, supporting homosexuality.
00:08:45.580 Even back in the day when you were with American Life League before, about the scandal of the U.S. bishops giving Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians.
00:08:57.680 They are running a Eucharistic Congress next year.
00:09:01.700 Tell me about what you think of the fact that they want to run a Eucharistic Congress in light of the fact that they are still giving Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians.
00:09:10.100 Well, that really is kind of a huge problem.
00:09:12.200 It's not just the pro-abortion politicians, but they're now talking about giving communion to divorced and remarried Catholics.
00:09:17.580 They're talking about giving communion to active homosexual couples, which is a huge scandal, but it also endangers the souls that are approaching for communion.
00:09:26.400 So, when they're talking about a Eucharistic revival, it seems to me more what they're talking about is expanding those to whom communion can be given, which is a massive scandal.
00:09:37.180 It's going to have the opposite effect.
00:09:38.760 When you have that much sacrilege being committed on a mass scale, it can only bring about the wrath of God.
00:09:45.120 And I very much fear for what's going to happen because of it.
00:09:47.920 So, you're standing here holding a relic of Pope Pius X. Tell us about that.
00:09:54.420 Why do you have it?
00:09:55.060 And what does Pope Pius X mean to you?
00:09:57.200 Pope St. Pius X is the Pope of the modernist errors.
00:10:01.340 So, he wrote about the errors of modernism, which is the prime error that is facing the church today.
00:10:08.920 So, I brought Pope St. Pius X with me because I figured that if anybody really understands what's going on now because of those errors, it would be Bishop Strickland.
00:10:19.940 And I thought it would be very special if he blessed us all with this relic, and he did, and it was marvelous.
00:10:24.700 Absolutely beautiful.
00:10:25.600 Michael Hichborn, thank you.
00:10:26.880 Thanks so much.
00:10:28.100 We are here with a group actually pretty local to the area, at least from the state of Maryland as well.
00:10:34.120 Jennifer and...
00:10:35.200 Jennifer and...
00:10:35.980 Jennifer Schubert.
00:10:36.860 And a happy birthday, Jennifer.
00:10:37.680 Carolyn Horton.
00:10:39.660 Giselle Coe.
00:10:40.800 So, what brought you out today?
00:10:43.420 Because we come here to stand with Bishop Strickland.
00:10:46.060 He has been one of the lone voices for us, for the people.
00:10:50.600 I realize that I've met him several times.
00:10:54.200 He is a good, holy, faithful son of God, and he is speaking the truth, and he's speaking the truth for us, for the people, so that there's no confusion.
00:11:03.960 And he's putting his neck out on the line to help us, so I figured, you know, we need to come and stand for him and show him our support, because he's suffering.
00:11:16.240 He's a suffering servant, but he's very, very holy.
00:11:18.820 I've been to one of his masses.
00:11:20.160 It's one of the most reverent masses I've ever attended.
00:11:25.040 So...
00:11:25.160 What do you make of the situation in the church right now?
00:11:27.980 How do you explain to your children and grandchildren what's going on?
00:11:32.040 It's very difficult.
00:11:33.540 It's very difficult.
00:11:35.160 I just...
00:11:36.260 I take a playbook from Bishop Strickland, where we know the truth, and we know the deposit of faith, and we stick with that.
00:11:47.180 That's...
00:11:47.820 And our own faith is what matters.
00:11:49.880 We can't really depend, unfortunately, on priests and bishops these days to lead us.
00:11:54.700 So it's up to us to learn the faith, to know it, and to be true to it.
00:11:59.560 It was Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, who said, don't rely on the bishops and the priests and the cardinals to defend the faith.
00:12:07.700 It's the laity that will do that.
00:12:09.320 Thank you for standing up for the faith.
00:12:11.660 Thank you.
00:12:12.700 Thank you for being here.
00:12:13.980 God bless you.
00:12:14.780 Jack Ames has been running this prayer rally outside, rosary rally outside of the bishops' conference for years now.
00:12:22.320 Jack, what inspired you to start this?
00:12:24.700 Well, just being a devout Catholic, I founded Defend Life, which is a grassroots pro-life group, proclaiming the culture of life and fighting the culture of death, going back to 1987.
00:12:38.180 We're 37 years old.
00:12:39.620 We're grassroots.
00:12:40.280 We do things that other pro-life groups don't want to do.
00:12:42.940 They don't want to get their hands dirty.
00:12:44.680 For instance, we do Face the Truth tours, where we actually show what abortion is.
00:12:48.820 We're out on the streets and roadways of America.
00:12:50.960 We've been doing that.
00:12:52.340 This year, we'll be there.
00:12:53.340 Our 24th year.
00:12:54.140 It's made us really go big time.
00:12:57.800 When we started doing them, things changed.
00:12:59.780 We have 15 times as many people on our mailing list at defendlife.org as we did when we started way back in, we founded in 1987.
00:13:09.660 So, anyway, that's what we do.
00:13:12.000 We have great speakers.
00:13:13.700 We're trying to get John Henry Weston to come and speak.
00:13:15.920 I think everybody knows who he is.
00:13:17.740 Another thing we do is we have a great hard copy publication that comes out every other month.
00:13:24.880 We call it our magazine.
00:13:26.560 And people can find out more about us by going to defendlife.org.
00:13:29.620 Not a pretty website, but we're grassroots.
00:13:32.060 We're all volunteer.
00:13:33.340 Nobody gets paid.
00:13:34.400 We're doing the Lord's work.
00:13:35.480 Thank you, Jack.
00:13:37.660 God bless you.
00:13:38.560 Thank you, John Henry.
00:13:39.900 God love you.
00:13:40.440 Yeah, we had a bunch of the LifeSite crew out to this Bishop's Rickland Rosary Rally event outside of the Bishop Conference here in Baltimore, Maryland.
00:13:50.620 And Louis Kanufki was for a time a Rome correspondent of ours, now a U.S. correspondent.
00:13:57.100 Behind the camera here is Michael Hogan and John Paul Gutschke, also here, another videographer as well.
00:14:04.300 Doug Mainwaring, our chief correspondent in the United States, was here as well.
00:14:08.580 So, good turnout for LifeSite News.
00:14:10.660 Louis, what's your takeaway from the event?
00:14:13.100 Well, so I came today to support Bishop Strickland, to assure him of our prayers.
00:14:18.720 I did receive his blessing also after the Rosary.
00:14:22.360 And before I came, one of my friends back in D.C. who's at Catholic University asked me to tell the Bishop that those who are studying philosophy and theology at Catholic University also wish to show their support.
00:14:38.840 And they wanted me to thank him for his courage in speaking up the, you know, defending the truth of the faith.
00:14:44.160 And what struck me today is, you know, our Lord tells the apostles, do not be afraid.
00:14:49.480 And John Paul II often repeated that phrase also, do not be afraid.
00:14:53.080 And he is definitely an example of that.
00:14:56.760 And so I take courage from it.
00:14:58.600 And I think the fallout from his removal will be that more bishops and priests also take courage to speak out and to defend the truth of the gospel.
00:15:12.240 And I think it's very clear that he has done that.
00:15:15.360 And his witness is very, very appreciated.
00:15:18.060 Beautiful.
00:15:18.840 Thank you, Louis.
00:15:20.100 Look who I found.
00:15:21.960 Guess what?
00:15:22.540 Who's here at the Rosary Rally with Bishop Strickland outside the meeting of the U.S. Bishops' Conference right here?
00:15:32.080 None other than Father James Altman.
00:15:34.520 So good to see you, Father.
00:15:35.700 John Henry, you know I love you.
00:15:38.820 And it's just a privilege to see you in real life again.
00:15:41.800 Like one of my all-time heroes.
00:15:44.580 Yeah.
00:15:45.240 Why about Miracle?
00:15:46.820 Well, because I almost didn't come.
00:15:48.220 I don't know if you heard me talking to Vicki.
00:15:49.500 But she was in that chat group and she said she canceled her board meeting.
00:15:53.560 She canceled doctor's appointments.
00:15:55.320 I thought, well, she threw down the gauntlet.
00:15:57.100 I cannot not be here.
00:15:58.540 And I didn't realize that you were going to be here too.
00:16:01.300 So what a privilege to see you again.
00:16:03.220 See you, Father.
00:16:05.040 You've been not feeling too well.
00:16:07.040 How are you doing now?
00:16:08.540 Well, it's the road to recovery.
00:16:11.100 But, you know, I'm getting older.
00:16:12.860 We're all getting older.
00:16:13.740 And so you've got to expect that you're not just going to be always at the top of your game.
00:16:20.360 So, but I'm here now.
00:16:22.100 I've got plenty of rest the last few days.
00:16:24.120 And so I could withstand the rigors.
00:16:26.620 All I will say, you see Bishop Strickland kneels the whole time.
00:16:30.320 I don't know any, I've not seen anybody in real life or on TV either, ever pray the Holy Roshi like he does.
00:16:37.260 Every single time.
00:16:38.440 And he's just there kneeling.
00:16:40.120 And unfortunately, I've just been through eight weeks of back rehab too, on top of everything else.
00:16:45.700 So it was a little dip.
00:16:46.880 But now I made her.
00:16:47.940 So it was all good.
00:16:50.240 He does this adoration in front of our Lord an hour and a half every morning.
00:16:55.340 And it's just craziness.
00:16:57.740 Well, craziness in the best kind of way.
00:16:59.640 Yeah.
00:17:01.520 What are your thoughts about what's happening in that building right there and what just happened to Bishop Strickland?
00:17:06.900 Sure.
00:17:07.220 So people have asked me this question and I thank Jorge Bergoglio for doing what he did because he has once again revealed the agenda.
00:17:19.740 Like the Babylon Bee said, he got canceled for being too Catholic.
00:17:25.180 That these guys in there are not stuck up for him like we've tried to here, like we backed Bishop Strickland.
00:17:32.240 Cardinal Mueller took the Cardinal from Germany.
00:17:34.060 Remember it took a Cardinal for Cardinal Mueller to come over here about that, that father of Mark Hauk.
00:17:38.940 Yes.
00:17:39.480 Yeah.
00:17:40.500 They didn't.
00:17:41.860 They didn't back us.
00:17:43.360 They didn't back Mark Hauk.
00:17:44.140 They didn't back Strickland.
00:17:45.100 They're not backing us.
00:17:46.440 We people need to understand that.
00:17:48.560 Not one more penny, as one of the signs said.
00:17:52.700 That they, in their cowardice, do not defend Bishop Strickland is nothing but, well, it's just another one of the disgraces.
00:18:01.340 Did you see that?
00:18:02.280 The Argentine Archbishop, he's retired.
00:18:04.480 And it took him.
00:18:05.940 This guy knows who Bergoglio is.
00:18:07.960 He knows what a viper he is.
00:18:10.200 And he had the courage to speak the truth.
00:18:12.100 So it's cowardice again.
00:18:15.740 Bishop Athanasius Snyder called it a black day for the Catholic Church in America and called Bishop Strickland,
00:18:22.380 and will go down in history, he said, as the Athanasius for the Church in the United States.
00:18:28.760 What's your thought?
00:18:29.540 Well said.
00:18:30.080 That's perfectly said.
00:18:31.420 Yes, it's him.
00:18:32.460 Look at, he kept praying for them.
00:18:34.300 He's more charitable than I am.
00:18:35.740 And I've never claimed to be charitable.
00:18:37.420 He was more charitable.
00:18:38.440 He kept praying for them.
00:18:39.720 It was him against them.
00:18:41.560 It was one against about 290.
00:18:43.980 Shame on every single one of them.
00:18:45.960 And I'm using polite words because I'm on my side.
00:18:48.280 Father, if you could, there's a lot of people at LifeSite who would love to have your blessing.
00:18:56.300 Would you mind blessing the viewers of LifeSite News?
00:18:58.900 And also, especially our donors who support us.
00:19:01.040 Sure.
00:19:01.500 Well, let us pray.
00:19:02.380 In nomine Patris, Afilii, Spiritus, Sancti.
00:19:04.700 Amen.
00:19:05.060 The Lord be with you.
00:19:07.460 And through the intercession of all the saints and martyrs, beginning with the apostles,
00:19:13.420 the true apostles, the true shepherds of the Catholic Church,
00:19:16.580 every martyr since then,
00:19:18.900 some of my favorites of recent St. Isaac jokes, boyhood hero,
00:19:23.400 but St. Jose Luis Sanchez del Rio,
00:19:25.720 who at the age of 14 refused to renounce his faith when they tortured him,
00:19:29.440 when the government tortured him,
00:19:30.660 when the church didn't defend him.
00:19:34.100 Especially through the intercession of the holy family,
00:19:36.300 Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
00:19:37.260 who showed us and taught us what it means to be father, mother, and children.
00:19:42.780 A holy family.
00:19:43.580 May Almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
00:19:48.360 Amen.
00:19:49.660 And finally, Father, you know, one of the things that we were with Bishop Strickland in Rome,
00:19:55.460 at Rome Life Forum, he made an incredible speech there,
00:20:00.700 did just awesome, you know, witness for the faith being right there in resistance to what's going on.
00:20:06.640 We were talking about the apostles,
00:20:10.300 and the bishops are successors of the apostles,
00:20:13.960 and as they were saying that, he said, sort of off the cuff,
00:20:18.240 he said,
00:20:18.500 I wonder which apostle that I'm a successor of,
00:20:22.120 and it's funny, because I said right away,
00:20:25.420 John, because he leans on the breast of Christ like nobody else does.
00:20:30.940 Wow, that is beautifully said.
00:20:34.660 But, you know, people get confused.
00:20:36.360 They say, well, they're, oh, they're a successor of the apostles.
00:20:39.040 Well, there was a Judas, too, wasn't there?
00:20:42.020 Yeah, which successor are they?
00:20:44.920 Yeah, there you go.
00:20:46.600 So, God bless you, Father.
00:20:47.960 Thank you.
00:20:48.920 Oh, my gosh.
00:20:50.820 John Henry, it is always.
00:20:52.300 And to see your crew, it's so good to see you.
00:20:54.720 Thank you.
00:20:55.540 Thank you.
00:20:55.920 So, we've got, I mean, there's a crowd here.
00:20:59.140 There's a couple hundred at Leicester, a little bit more,
00:21:01.800 but they really were from all over the country,
00:21:04.820 and, well, I'm from outside the country, but nonetheless,
00:21:07.220 there were a few from, all the way from Texas.
00:21:11.840 These men here are from Texas.
00:21:13.680 If you can give me your names.
00:21:14.760 Dan.
00:21:15.580 I'm Patrick Kamisky.
00:21:17.000 I'm Paul Teese.
00:21:18.360 And you guys came all the way from Texas.
00:21:21.780 Why was that?
00:21:22.760 So, we really wanted to come and support Bishop Strickland, you know,
00:21:25.760 I mean, he's such a good and holy and authentic shepherd,
00:21:29.420 and, you know, he's out here to pray the rosary
00:21:32.600 and pray for his fellow bishops and, you know,
00:21:35.740 really just help lead us in a unified direction toward Jesus Christ.
00:21:41.020 And his message is, you know, it's genuine.
00:21:43.980 It speaks to all of us as believers.
00:21:46.220 You know, and he's really, he's a unifying force.
00:21:48.740 And so, we just wanted to support him and show him that we love him,
00:21:52.420 you know, regardless of, you know, what may be going on with his current status,
00:21:57.760 you know, he is a, he's a honest and good and faithful shepherd.
00:22:01.220 So, one of the things that I think you guys can probably speak to more than any of the rest of us here
00:22:06.660 is what impact is this going to have at home?
00:22:11.900 I know you're close to the diocese, but not in it, perhaps.
00:22:14.520 But can you speak to the diocese, for the diocese, what's going on over there?
00:22:21.020 What's the sentiment over there?
00:22:22.900 Well, I think there's, there is so much love and support for Bishop Strickland
00:22:26.160 because if you're around him for, for more than a minute,
00:22:29.560 you will see what a good and faithful and holy man he is.
00:22:33.060 You know, yes, he is a bishop, but he is a man who loves Christ more than anything.
00:22:39.160 And when you're around him, you feel that come, come through.
00:22:42.460 The diocese feels that.
00:22:43.700 There are so many in the diocese who love him and who support him.
00:22:47.760 And what I find so amazing is he was here at this conference
00:22:51.160 and a lot of people would say, oh, well, you shouldn't go there
00:22:53.660 because, you know, you're not wanted or whatnot.
00:22:57.140 He came here not because he was divisive, not because he was angry or spiteful.
00:23:01.980 He came here out of love.
00:23:04.380 He came here to share the love of Christ.
00:23:06.620 And not once did he say a negative or harsh word towards any individual,
00:23:11.180 towards anyone in the clergy.
00:23:12.920 He came here to love and to share the message of Christ.
00:23:16.300 And that is what we love so much about him
00:23:18.480 and why we are just so drawn to him and want to support him
00:23:22.020 and pray for him in any way that we can.
00:23:24.960 Now, there's about 400 families that moved to Tyler for the bishop.
00:23:30.680 For being there with him.
00:23:33.080 There's orders.
00:23:34.100 There's Mother Miriam's order that came there.
00:23:36.960 There's others.
00:23:39.720 Is there some kind of feeling on the ground about what to expect
00:23:43.900 or what are they thinking there?
00:23:45.220 No, I'm really not sure how, but from talking to Bishop,
00:23:50.360 he's spoken that he wants to be in Tyler.
00:23:54.500 There's places that he has found people who can stay with.
00:23:58.500 And he has supported as much as he can.
00:24:01.440 Of course, he also said that the new bishop that comes in
00:24:05.860 will have responsibility for all of this,
00:24:08.120 but he'd be there to support.
00:24:10.280 Beautiful.
00:24:11.320 Thank you guys for being here.
00:24:12.980 Thank you for standing with Bishop Strickland from his state.
00:24:16.360 I know you guys pray for him very much
00:24:18.280 on behalf of all the Catholics in the world, even.
00:24:23.700 Because they've talked about Bishop Strickland in Africa,
00:24:26.360 in India, all over the place.
00:24:28.300 And so, as I've said to some of the people in Tyler,
00:24:32.940 you know, you may have lost your own personal shepherd right now,
00:24:36.960 but I think the world has gained another shepherd in a big way,
00:24:40.960 one of these flying bishops who is going to be there for a lot more people.
00:24:44.900 Thank you guys.
00:24:46.040 God bless you.
00:24:46.860 Thank you.
00:24:47.520 We have come to the end.
00:24:49.000 We are standing here after, long after actually,
00:24:52.220 the conclusion of the Holy Rosary led by Bishop Strickland,
00:24:54.700 right here outside the U.S. Bishops' Conference meeting
00:24:58.120 in Baltimore at the Marriott.
00:25:00.860 And it was beautiful, hundreds of attendees.
00:25:05.200 You led what people thought was a rehearsed thing,
00:25:08.260 but there was no notes.
00:25:10.960 What were your takeaways from the Holy Rosary,
00:25:14.180 from all the support?
00:25:15.000 You got a lot of love and support here.
00:25:17.100 Well, it was great to gather with people of faith
00:25:19.460 that are concerned about the church,
00:25:22.700 but know that Jesus Christ is Lord.
00:25:25.520 We prayed with great joy and reverence
00:25:28.980 to Christ and His Blessed Mother as you pray the rosary.
00:25:32.680 So, we prayed the glorious mysteries,
00:25:35.240 and I tried to share some reflections
00:25:37.860 that just come from my prayer
00:25:39.520 about what Christ's glory really is.
00:25:43.100 Just reading Ezekiel recently,
00:25:45.140 it just, it speaks of the glory of God.
00:25:47.420 Of course, Old Testament,
00:25:48.680 but we know that Christ, as the Son,
00:25:50.840 is there with the glory of God in Old Testament times.
00:25:54.080 So, the great mystery of that glory,
00:25:57.140 and we can't lose that.
00:25:59.400 We can't pretend it's gone, it's of the past.
00:26:03.140 No, it's of now and into the future,
00:26:06.080 into everlasting life.
00:26:07.880 So, as you can see,
00:26:09.000 I get a little carried away with praying the rosary.
00:26:13.640 You have a lot of love in your heart
00:26:15.820 for your brother Bishop's meeting in here,
00:26:18.000 even though you're sort of left out.
00:26:20.160 I couldn't say in the cold,
00:26:21.080 because it's not very cold,
00:26:22.220 but it is indeed.
00:26:24.000 And a lot of people express the thought that,
00:26:27.560 you know, they've unleashed something,
00:26:30.280 or someone,
00:26:31.480 who's able to do a lot.
00:26:33.560 And so, there's a lot of prayer out there for you.
00:26:36.020 A lot of people feel that,
00:26:37.760 and I told this to one of your guys in Tyler,
00:26:39.360 that you might have lost your own personal shepherd,
00:26:42.900 but he's been given to the world right now.
00:26:44.980 We really hope that happens,
00:26:47.580 and we hope you're open to it.
00:26:50.060 Well, I'm open to God's will.
00:26:53.460 It's a little daunting, what you just said,
00:26:56.920 but, you know,
00:26:58.020 it's been a daunting path for a while now.
00:27:01.680 I will do my best to be faithful to Christ,
00:27:04.400 and to serve His church as the best I can,
00:27:08.380 as one of His shepherds.
00:27:10.020 I'm just one,
00:27:11.260 but I do believe deeply,
00:27:14.060 and that is what gives me the joy
00:27:16.160 and the strength to continue.
00:27:18.580 Our Lady plays a big, big part in your life.
00:27:22.400 The Rosary plays a big part.
00:27:25.020 Close us off with, if you will,
00:27:27.340 of this little coverage of the Holy Rosary,
00:27:30.520 the after-effects of the Holy Rosary
00:27:32.160 rally outside the Bishop's Conference.
00:27:34.740 What are your final thoughts about Our Lady?
00:27:37.620 Well, she is the model.
00:27:39.400 She is the disciple,
00:27:41.520 and we pray in the Rosary.
00:27:43.020 She was assumed into heaven
00:27:44.240 under the power of the Holy Spirit,
00:27:46.400 crowned as Queen of Heaven and Earth.
00:27:48.980 She shows us,
00:27:50.380 her son is the way, the truth, and the life,
00:27:52.500 and she shows us how to follow Him,
00:27:54.480 like she says in the Gospel.
00:27:56.180 Do what He tells you.
00:27:57.800 That's why the Rosary is so powerful,
00:27:59.560 because it's reflecting on that basic call
00:28:01.940 of Our Lady to follow her son.
00:28:05.260 Amen.
00:28:05.860 And would you mind giving all of our life
00:28:07.400 if you're as a blessing?
00:28:08.440 Sure.
00:28:09.380 Emily, Father, we ask your blessing
00:28:10.820 for all of your sons and daughters gathered here.
00:28:13.660 Guide us in your love and grace,
00:28:15.200 and we ask this,
00:28:16.080 the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
00:28:18.280 Amen.
00:28:19.600 Thank you, Emily.
00:28:20.620 Excellent.
00:28:21.080 Thank you.
00:28:21.460 God bless.
00:28:22.160 God bless.
00:28:22.900 Amen.
00:28:23.000 zaman
00:28:30.420 God bless.
00:28:34.380 Let us live.
00:28:34.740 Amen.
00:28:34.920 Amen.
00:28:35.000 Amen.
00:28:35.480 Amen.
00:28:36.320 Amen.
00:28:36.380 Amen.
00:28:36.940 Amen.
00:28:38.080 Amen.
00:28:38.860 Amen.
00:28:39.400 Amen.
00:28:39.900 Amen.
00:28:40.060 Amen.
00:28:40.080 Amen.
00:28:40.160 Amen.
00:28:40.320 Amen.
00:28:40.340 Amen.
00:28:40.960 Amen.
00:28:41.020 Amen.
00:28:42.040 Amen.
00:28:42.220 Amen.
00:28:42.740 Amen.
00:28:42.920 Amen.
00:28:43.020 Amen.
00:28:43.480 Amen.
00:28:43.800 Amen.
00:28:44.040 Amen.
00:28:44.220 Amen.
00:28:44.520 Amen.
00:28:44.560 Amen.
00:28:44.660 Amen.
00:28:44.920 Amen.
00:28:45.200 Amen.
00:28:46.320 Amen.
00:28:46.420 Amen.
00:28:49.240 Amen.
00:28:49.700 Amen.
