A former member of the Fatima team believes that the next Pope will be the one to carry out a prophecy made by Father Nicholas Grunner, who was a priest at the center of the famous pilgrimage to Fatima in 1892.
00:03:42.000That's just my own belief in my own opinion there.
00:03:44.600However, I would say there are times in church history when there's been confusion about who's the pope and there have been saints who were wrong about who the pope was.
00:03:56.460And there's also been times in church history where there's been terrible popes, just objectively speaking.
00:04:01.500I can't remember the pope's name, but it was during the time of what was called the pornocracy, which was a time when it sounds like it was like what it sounds like.
00:04:08.340I mean, Rome was full of prostitutes in the Vatican and it was a terrible time.
00:04:11.500And there was a major doctrinal issue coming up and people thought that massively important church teaching, which cannot be changed, was going to be on the surface changed.
00:04:20.840And a pope who was a derelict stopped it.
00:04:25.380Pope Francis is not the worst pope we've ever had in history, I don't think.
00:04:28.840I mean, maybe in some ways people will say he is.
00:07:24.260And I had a sort of inner thought of, boy, you know, he's just like Saul persecuting the church.
00:07:29.920And I really pray that he has that conversion that's so needed.
00:07:34.440And he'll fall off that horse and turn around and become, like Saul did, a great apostle of zeal,
00:07:42.200much more so than others, because he was so zealous in his persecution of Christians that, you know, that he became this apostle of such great zeal as well.
00:07:53.120And it was very much the same thought with Francis.
00:07:55.600He is, unlike most popes, so zealous for what he wants.
00:08:00.460What he wants is the other side, actually, horrifically.
00:08:03.260It's been the liberal approach to the church, what many think is a heretical approach of modernism in the church.
00:08:12.480But he's pursued it zealously, so much more zealously than most would,
00:08:16.260because he basically seems to have no concern what others are going to think about what he does.
00:10:13.200However, it's actually cool to pray for the Ukraine, even if you're a leftist.
00:10:19.380So I thought there might just be some, and maybe that's why God's choosing this time, because this idea that you're going to pray for Russia and Ukraine.
00:10:26.660That's something that even people who are non-religious, they'll probably support as some sort of virtue signal, let's be honest.
00:10:32.480So I thought, you know, I imagine, I said to my priest, I said, you know, Father, I think a lot of bishops are going to do this.
00:10:39.420Just because, you know, every day bishops offer mass, and every day they pray for the Pope, I mean, I would imagine so.
00:10:53.380I mean, if you look back at the actual text between the exchanges between Sister Lucy and Our Lady and things like that, it says to pray for the Pope with the bishops at the same time for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
00:11:03.660But it's not as if there was some sort of missile that was put forth, and it was something with rubrics, okay?
00:11:10.000So I asked my priest, and I said, what would constitute being in union with the Pope on this?
00:11:14.840I said, would it be enough if they, you know, in their hearts basically said, I also consecrate that nation, and I'm going to offer my intentions for the Holy Father's consecration at mass?
00:11:27.800And we said, you know, it might be enough.
00:11:29.700I mean, again, it just says the Pope in union with the bishops.
00:11:34.440And at the same time, that could be interpreted as same day, you know, because let's, you know, let's be honest.
00:11:41.060Let's say, you know, you're a bishop, and you intend to do it at 5 p.m. Rome time, and you're in Tokyo, so it's 2 in the morning or whatever it is, and for some reason your car breaks down on the way to the cathedral.
00:11:51.880I mean, if you get there at 2.30 your time, and you have the intention, does that nullify it?
00:11:56.320I mean, that wouldn't fit the way we look at Catholic theology.
00:11:58.620Intention, real intention is very important.
00:12:01.540So we both agreed that, you know what?
00:12:03.660If the bishops want to do it on the same day, and they all want to say, intend to do the same thing the Holy Father does, that would probably suffice in a similar way with ecumenical councils.
00:12:12.500It's never the case, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's the case, maybe when the church was very small, but since then, not so, that every single bishop on earth actually attends every session of a council.
00:12:24.000Even at the Second Vatican Council, many of them were not there for various reasons.
00:12:28.540But why do we say that a council happens, the bishops of the world with the pope?
00:12:32.640Because there's what's called a moral majority.
00:12:34.600It represents the body of bishops, and those who aren't present give their assent as being part of this body of Catholic bishops.
00:12:40.040The same thing could also be true about what's happening with this.
00:12:43.940Now, since the few days ago, when we weren't sure what was going to happen, we now see that Pope Francis has put out a publication, and he published this on LifeSite, or the Rome, I should say, put it out, that they're inviting all the bishops to do it.
00:12:55.480I also just got a message from Matt Gasper, his mutual friend, and he said the Filipino bishops have put out their intentions on their own to do it anyway, and they're all saying they're going to be doing it at 5 p.m. Rome time.
00:13:06.640So what it actually looks like at this point, it's not just going to be something where we're hoping they'll join, but where the pope is inviting them.
00:13:13.540And the last thing I'll say before I stop rambling too much is, you know, this is the age of blind obedience, which is not good.
00:13:20.320This is why we have so many issues in the church.
00:13:21.800But the thing is, the bishops of the world love to be on Pope Francis' good side, to a fault.
00:13:27.540Pope Francis is doing something, and for them, it looks real good if they jump right on it.
00:13:31.660So maybe, you know, with this combination of the Ukraine virtue signaling, plus disobedience in the church, you know, these sorts of things, it might just be a fruitful time for exactly what Our Lady asked for to happen.
00:13:43.260And then one question about the Ukraine and Russia being mentioned together, not Russia alone, I know a lot of people thought there was some problem with that.
00:13:50.840But Bishop Schneider, I think, has answered that question.
00:13:52.880If you go to LifeSite News right now, you'll see the answer.
00:13:55.220And that is that, you know, at the time that the consecration was asked for, Ukraine was part of Russia anyway.
00:14:01.400So there's no problem there with that.
00:14:21.100I think Heaven's brought it forward as truly needed, as something we're all hopeful for.
00:14:27.180And especially for Catholics who have been, have a childlike faith.
00:14:30.760I think the promise for Our Lady that the world will be given a period of peace will know that because a period of peace will be real peace.
00:14:41.340Our Lady's not going to promise a period of peace in the world that still has 50 million unborn children killed every year, every year around the world.
00:15:00.080And we'll see you next time on The John Henry Weston Show.
