Abby Johnson joins us on The John Hunter Weston Show from the National March for Life in Ottawa, Canada where she calls out Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for his anti-choice stance on abortion. Abby also calls out the Trudeau family for their opposition to abortion.
00:04:42.340And I think anyone who supports abortion, I've read that he's now pushing for contraception to be available throughout Canada at no cost to women,
00:04:54.860just available anywhere, everywhere to all women.
00:05:52.520I mean, look what they've already done in Canada.
00:05:55.020You know, you can't go and have a peaceful presence in front of an abortion facility without getting arrested.
00:05:59.780So there's absolutely no reason why he wouldn't go ahead and continue to extend that sort of dictatorship that he's put his hand on in the country and say, you know, okay, we don't want you to have any sort of pro-life, you know, protest or gathering or rally or anything.
00:06:20.980Are they just going to abide and say, well, okay, you know, we don't want to, we don't want to offend or we don't want to get arrested or we don't want to this or that.
00:06:31.500I mean, at some point in time, there's going to have to be some civil disobedience taking place where Canadians say, we're not doing this anymore.
00:06:52.260One of the things we've just seen in the United States is the FACE Act trials against the eight pro-lifers who are in prison.
00:06:59.900Joan Andrews Bell, of course, but also Heather Idoni and others who are really suffering right now.
00:07:05.980So they, too, are in this kind of strange situation where America is sort of watching this situation unfold as they are treated and deplorably treated in prison.
00:07:16.220Did you see, though, what happened today with the pro-abortion protester?
00:07:22.160Pro-abortion protester in Kentucky that spray-painted Abort God all over a pregnancy center, spray-painted all kinds of destruction, vandalism on a pro-life pregnancy center also violated the FACE Act, right?
00:07:37.240Because the FACE Act does not just protect abortion facilities, but it also protects centers like pregnancy resource centers, right?
00:08:27.680I mean, if this goes through, if this happens, some of these people, and let's just be completely honest, some of these people are probably going to die in prison.
00:08:39.500They'll die away from their families, away from their children.
00:09:57.820Yeah, I think there's a lot of confusion, John Henry.
00:09:59.920I think that, you know, I was just on a show not that long ago and it was with two Protestants.
00:10:05.500And they were talking about, you know, Biden and how he, you know, claims to be Catholic and all this kind of stuff.
00:10:11.520And they were saying, you know, why is this still allowed in the Catholic Church?
00:10:17.240Why, you know, the Catholics have always been pro-life, right?
00:10:20.960And that's something I don't think any, most Protestants will not disagree with you on.
00:10:25.420Most Protestants, even my parents who are, you know, diehard Southern Baptists, they will give credit where credit's due, right?
00:10:31.340They will say the pro-life movement has been, from the beginning, led by Catholics.
00:10:37.220The Catholics have always stood firm, stood fast.
00:10:41.900I think everyone would agree that Catholics have always been leading the charge, you know, in the pro-life movement.
00:10:48.340Because our position has never changed as Catholics, that, you know, we believe in the sanctity of human life from conception until natural death.
00:10:56.420But I think it is very confusing for a lot of Catholics and particularly actual devout Catholics, right?
00:11:04.160Because you've got people like Biden, like Nancy Pelosi, these pro-abortion Catholics who have themselves excommunicated themselves from the church because of their beliefs, being invited to the Vatican, right?
00:11:20.340To have an audience with Pope Francis.
00:11:23.400I haven't had an audience with Pope Francis.
00:11:25.740I don't know if you have, but he hasn't asked me to come over and hang out, right?
00:11:29.620But, and I feel like I'm a pretty faithful Catholic, right?
00:11:34.520But yet he's having Joe Biden come over and have an audience with him and Nancy Pelosi and Chelsea Clinton is speaking at the Vatican.
00:11:42.920And so I think that is very confusing.
00:11:46.600It's confusing for people who are Protestants.
00:11:49.620It is confusing for people who are Protestants that have always looked to the Catholic Church for their firm, steadfast devotion to pro-life principles.
00:11:57.600It's also very confusing for faithful Catholics who are going, what, what is happening here, right?
00:12:04.280Why is Biden essentially mocking our faith by making the sign of the cross when we're talking about saving lives?
00:14:57.980Abby was herself running an abortion clinic.
00:15:02.280And not just any abortion clinic, a major abortion clinic.
00:15:05.920And involved with the very, the other side in the biggest of ways.
00:15:09.480You were called out of it and called back to Christ in the most loving, amazing way.
00:15:14.520And now you've spent so much of your life bringing others out and not hating them, but loving them.
00:15:22.180Tell us about your new film, which is all about doing just that.
00:15:24.880So the new film is called Unthinkable.
00:15:26.400My whole goal since leaving Planned Parenthood has really been trying to do everything I can to pull back the curtain of the abortion industry.
00:15:35.980I mean, that's, you know, that was why I wrote Unplanned.
00:15:39.120That was why we did the film Unplanned.
00:15:41.120It was just really trying to pull back the curtain and to show people the ugliest parts of the abortion clinic, the abortion industry.
00:15:52.740Because even today, I mean, at the march, you know, you see these people, you know, the tens of people that were there to protest against us.
00:16:00.220And what are they always talking about?
00:16:02.080They're always talking about women and protecting women, protecting women.
00:16:06.100But if they really saw what happened inside of these clinics, they would understand that protecting women is the furthest thing from the minds of big abortion.
00:16:15.080If they could hear the stories from these women, and they will, if they see Unthinkable, they will hear.
00:16:20.540Just the degradation of these women while they're laying on the tables for their abortion, the way that they are talked about by the staff, the doctors in particular, the way their bodies are made fun of and talked about, just how devalued they are.
00:16:38.920You know, they're wanted for their promiscuity.
00:16:43.600These women, they're recruited because of their promiscuity.
00:16:48.760They're recruited because they're poor.
00:16:51.200They're recruited because they're black, because they're immigrants.
00:16:59.680And then just to hear about the way that the negligence, you know, we have a, you know, we have a woman who, a woman died in their care at the abortion clinic.
00:17:10.320And she shares that story, just really lays it bare and how that affected her.
00:17:18.360And we have a woman in the, in the film that worked at Dr. Kermit Gosnell's clinic.
00:17:24.480And she talks to all the horrors that she saw there.
00:17:28.200And he was cutting up babies with pairs of household scissors and babies being born alive and drowned in toilets.
00:17:36.600I think there's people in the pro-life movement who think there's no way it could be that bad.
00:17:41.140But then you see dozens and dozens of former workers coming together and saying, no, it is that bad.
00:17:47.480And it's actually worse than you could have even imagined.
00:17:59.700They're not covering up their last names.
00:18:01.860It's their full names, their face, their voices in front of a camera, telling everyone who they are, what they saw, what clinic they worked at, the doctors they worked for.
00:18:18.760Sharing everything so plainly, so courageously, knowing that a few of them could actually be prosecuted for the things that they participated in.
00:18:31.300And we, you know, vetted that with Thomas More Society.
00:19:24.520Then there's just there's just plain ignorance inside of them.
00:19:29.100They're just being willfully ignorant because there's no way anybody could watch this film and listen to what these women are saying.
00:19:35.760Listen to what is happening to women who are lying on the table, women who are taking these medication, abortion pills and say, yes, that's what I want for women.
00:20:33.340But I wanted to go talk with some of them just to kind of hear their stories.
00:20:37.080But what I found is that when I do talk to them, particularly young women like we're there today, they've almost all had abortions.
00:20:47.100And and that's what we see in the abortion industry as well.
00:20:50.200So in Unthinkable, one of the things that that you hear is that a lot of the women that ended up working for the abortion clinic, some of them were recruited during their abortion appointment.
00:22:13.400And they're always shocked because they think that we are a movement of people who have never made mistakes, who don't know anything about the abortion movement, who don't know anything about what it is to, you know, have an unplanned pregnancy or whatever.
00:22:28.760And and what I'm what I love sharing with them is that this is a movement of converts.
00:22:34.140This is a movement so, so much so of people who have laid their bodies on those tables, who have had abortions, who have had a conversion on contraception, abortion, men who have taken their girlfriends to have abortions, men who have paid for it, people who once were rabidly pro-abortion and then had a conversion to the pro-life movement.
00:22:59.840That's that's who we are in the pro-life movement is so many people who at one time believed one thing and then the Holy Spirit got a hold of us and now we're changed.
00:23:11.920And so being able to talk to people and say, share our stories, but then also say, and it's OK for you to change your mind, too.
00:23:18.680So maybe not today, but as you continue to grow, as you continue to have life experiences, when you have your own child, when you hold your own baby in your arms or if, you know, God forbid you go through a pregnancy loss and you see that life that was growing within you, it's OK to change your mind.
00:23:40.360It doesn't make you a hypocrite. It doesn't mean you can't speak out about how you've grown in your life.
00:23:47.040And it's interesting. They can very easily be disarmed, I think, because they have a very specific stereotype that they believe us to be.
00:23:58.900And so when they find out that we're not really who they think we are, they're very easily disarmed.
