Summary
In addition to the curses and death threats we receive from abortion and LGBT agenda supporters, what s much more distressing are the stabs in the back from our own family and friends, and even from prelates and even the Pope. Working for an apostolate that is 100% committed to telling the truth in love is not for everybody. But I ll be introducing you to some heroic souls who have taken on this mission.

Hello, and welcome to this episode of the John Henry Weston Show.
00:00:04.320
In this show, I wanted to give you an inside glimpse into LifeSite news.
00:00:08.780
At LifeSite, we receive kudos and prayers for what we do, but we also receive a tremendous
00:00:13.620
amount of criticism and even hate, both from outside and most distressingly from inside
00:00:19.320
Working for an apostolate that is 100% committed to telling the truth in love is not for everybody.
00:00:25.180
But I'll be introducing you to some of the heroic souls who have taken on this mission.
00:00:31.420
Let's begin, as we always do, with the sign of the cross.
00:00:57.100
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
00:01:02.200
So this is a chance for you to get to know LifeSite a little better, and to know what
00:01:08.240
In addition to the curses and death threats we receive from abortion and LGBT agenda supporters,
00:01:13.940
what's much more distressing are the stabs in the back.
00:01:18.020
You know, sometimes from our own family and friends, we receive criticism and rejection.
00:01:22.700
But today, even from prelates, and above all the Pope, we can't help hearing his insults
00:01:29.220
such as rigid Christians or self-absorbed Promethean Neopelagian and being obsessed, sometimes
00:01:37.680
And in this time of radical feminism and gender confusion that really amounts to an outright
00:01:47.180
assault on the family, there's very few things that are more important today than young women
00:01:55.140
And I am proud and honored to stand beside some of the most courageous, faithful, and professional
00:02:01.060
young women in the pro-life and pro-family movement today.
00:02:10.420
I'm Danielle, I am the Sustaining Donor Coordinator for LifeSite News.
00:02:15.640
So my name is Carolyn, and I'm the Giving Specialist in Development at LifeSite News.
00:02:21.060
I am Reba, and I am the Director of Marketing here at LifeSite.
00:02:25.260
My name is Maddie, and I am a Digital Marketing Assistant.
00:02:29.420
I'm Claire, I am an Associate Editor for LifeSite News.
00:02:32.640
My name is Lisa, and I'm the Donor Relations Director here at LifeSite News.
00:02:40.420
And I came to LifeSite because it's an organization that truly values family and life,
00:02:53.420
and just my beliefs have really tuned into that in the last few years.
00:02:58.620
And I just have absolutely loved working for an organization that puts their beliefs into practice.
00:03:04.240
Well, I really think that LifeSite has a niche in the pro-life movement and in the church.
00:03:10.420
For one thing, in the pro-life movement, it's, in my mind, the main news source.
00:03:16.880
At least when I was doing pro-life work before coming here, that's where I heard about it and knew about it.
00:03:22.980
And then for the church, I mean, the journalism is really cutting edge and I think quite unique.
00:03:30.020
The fact that LifeSite is able to say things that no one else is saying, which is the most popular donor comment I hear.
00:03:37.060
I absolutely love its mission. I live and I breathe the LifeSite mission.
00:03:41.460
As long as I can remember, my mom has been, you know, using LifeSite to educate us as kids,
00:03:49.620
not necessarily as a specific educatory tool, you know, like a book,
00:03:53.740
but she's always referencing LifeSite articles, sending them to me and my siblings because we were homeschooled.
00:04:00.400
And so it was a really fundamental part of our foundation.
00:04:02.620
And having been raised as a cradle Catholic, life was always the most important issue.
00:04:09.800
I'm really passionate about fighting injustice and there's no greater injustice in the world than abortion.
00:04:15.540
And all of the things that go along with abortion, contraception, pornography, same-sex marriage,
00:04:22.020
And one of the reasons that I really like LifeSite is we recognize that connection between various bioethics issues
00:04:30.800
and how they all tie back to the same culture of death that's behind things like abortion.
00:04:38.360
I'm fighting for life, for babies, for people who can't fight for themselves.
00:04:44.600
And that's not just babies, it's people who are elderly and sick and affirmed and can't speak up for themselves.
00:04:55.160
Like the fact that these things are being discovered and truth is being unfolded
00:05:00.600
and actually shown to our readers is really where the hope comes in
00:05:08.160
I'm just so fortunate to be able to work for this organization.
00:05:13.020
We have different spiritual aspects where you really are growing in your faith too
00:05:17.740
and you're surrounded by people who are willing to put themselves personally on the line,
00:05:22.940
like our journalists, when they're reporting on these stories.
00:05:25.920
But also, you have to have that faith component because we are facing a spiritual battle.
00:05:29.920
And so, it's amazing to have these benefits of being able to be with my family and work from home,
00:05:35.020
but also be with a team that truly puts their faith first.
00:05:38.740
Yeah, there's a battle for authentic Christianity, for one,
00:05:44.400
but of course, authentic femininity and masculinity.
00:05:48.060
And, you know, there's a beauty to both of those, a beauty to chastity,
00:05:54.820
which people don't see or value in the secular world.
00:05:58.520
And so, this mission, the pro-life and the pro-family aspect
00:06:04.260
and the Christian aspect, all meld in LifeSite's mission.
00:06:10.460
And I'm passionate about all three a hundredfold.
00:06:16.740
I'm not necessarily subtle when it comes to speaking the truth,
00:06:19.860
even though it sometimes is uncomfortable for me.
00:06:22.540
People look at you funny. They stop talking to you.
00:06:30.940
And I have to tell you this truth because it's your soul that's on the line.
00:06:34.860
And shame on me if somebody had a gun to your head
00:06:41.100
but, you know, it might make us all a little uncomfortable,
00:06:51.040
But I think LifeSite will continue to have a significant role
00:07:00.260
but the darker the night, the brighter the stars.
00:07:03.020
And so that means that everyone involved in the LifeSite family,
00:07:13.760
You don't know if your views are going to be...
00:07:17.260
if somebody is going to react in violence to what you believe in.
00:07:27.080
And even if I don't understand what they believe
00:07:36.300
And I smile because my dad paid for a nice smile.
00:08:02.260
Like, you're going to want a God who is full of mercy and love
00:08:05.880
and just so different from the world and society and culture
00:08:11.040
And then, too, you know, as a wife and a mother of two kids,
00:08:28.520
because I want all kids to have what I want for my kids.
