00:00:00.000 Many of you might have seen over the past number of months a young man climbing on the side of
00:00:07.900 buildings. Usually the police are on top, but this is actually a pro-life Spider-Man. He's unfurled
00:00:16.020 pro-life posters. He's climbed up places, high buildings, where there are abortionists working.
00:00:24.440 It's very interesting and very scary. He does this without equipment. Stay tuned to meet
00:00:31.500 the pro-life Spider-Man, Mason Deschamps. This is the John Henry Weston Show. Stay tuned.
00:00:38.080 The name pro-life Spider-Man, climbing skyscrapers to end abortion.
00:00:53.920 He says he's climbing skyscrapers with a message. Stop abortions.

00:01:57.820 Mason Deschamps, welcome to the program.
00:02:00.500 Thanks for having me on.
00:02:03.040 Let's begin, as you always do, with the sign of the cross.
00:02:05.960 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
00:02:11.360 Amen. So, sir, you have gotten the attention of a lot of places all of a sudden.
00:02:19.140 Tell us a little bit about yourself.
00:02:22.260 Yeah, so I started climbing skyscrapers last August.
00:02:28.020 And the first one I did was to protest COVID mandates, but my original plan was to always
00:02:33.060 climb for pro-life and pro-life charities because I feel like it's something that's,
00:02:37.940 you get so much criticism when you stand up for pro-life. There's just so much backlash
00:02:43.000 that it needed to happen. And I was sort of glad that I climbed that first one because I learned a
00:02:49.040 little bit about marketing and like how to get my story out there. Because it's a lot harder than
00:02:54.160 just climbing a building. You have to have people on your side who are sending messages to all sorts
00:03:00.040 of places and getting the story out. But I wanted to climb another one after the aria in August.
00:03:08.800 And what finally made me decide that like now's the time is I heard the news about Dr.
00:03:14.400 Cesar Santangelo in Washington, D.C. And he had, they found five like aborted, almost full-grown
00:03:22.920 babies. And which is illegal in D.C. But the police, rather than arresting Dr. Cesar Santangelo,
00:03:31.580 they arrested the activists to obtain the babies. And so I just saw the corruption in that and said,
00:03:38.240 you know, now is the time, if any time, to do something about it. And it just so happened,
00:03:43.340 like I had bought the tickets to fly to San Francisco and climb the Salesforce a month in advance.
00:03:49.700 And the morning I did it happened to be the morning of the Roe v. Wade leak. So it was divine timing.
00:03:59.500 Amazing. Okay, so a number of things. You're climbing these buildings without really equipment.
00:04:08.840 No, like you're not attached to a rope anywhere. How are you doing that? What's your background for
00:04:13.880 climbing? Yeah, so this style of climbing is called free solo climbing. And
00:04:19.440 how I get up the building is I just climb with my hands and feet. I grab the like window sills
00:04:26.580 that stick out or the panels, the decorative panels that stick out. But I have a background
00:04:31.920 in rock climbing. I've been climbing for about like five years now. And I've lived in Yosemite
00:04:37.220 National Park and in Las Vegas, where we have Red Rock Canyon. And so I have a lot of experience
00:04:42.800 climbing on rock. And it's hard to convey to people who don't rock climb that, you know,
00:04:48.740 climbing skyscrapers is actually a lot easier than climbing rock. But like on rock, we grip holds
00:04:55.040 the size of credit cards. But on skyscrapers, I'm able to get my hands like all the way around these
00:04:59.980 panels. So I feel really secure and safe. And even if I were to slip, I'm not going to fall,
00:05:05.720 I'm going to catch myself, you know, like stick another hand on there really quick. And so I feel
00:05:11.800 really secure as I'm doing it. Okay, amazing. So part of your work, if you want to call it that,
00:05:20.040 is you get arrested. You were describing in one video, in fact, we're going to look at that clip
00:05:24.740 right now. You looking through a window and seeing police officers waving at you. Let's look at what
00:05:31.640 she said on that video. Today's action comes hours after a preliminary decision was leaked
00:05:37.020 that the Supreme Court could strike down the landmark Roe versus Wade decision. San Francisco
00:05:43.020 police officers arrested the champs immediately when he made it to the top. The charges you can
00:05:48.620 be facing are trespassing. So you're confronting police officers and you know, you're going to get
00:05:54.280 arrested. A, what's the feeling like? And B, what happens to you when you're arrested?
00:05:58.620 Yeah. So like, before I climb these buildings, I'm not really nervous about the climbing. I'm always
00:06:06.720 nervous about the security and the police. Like before I started this, I'd never been arrested
00:06:13.140 before in my life. And so I'm always really nervous about it. But usually what happens is I get to the
00:06:19.840 top and the police officers are very nice to me. They're usually just really impressed. And it kind of
00:06:26.320 makes their day, you know, you don't, it's not every day that you see somebody climb a building. So,
00:06:30.440 and what I do is different from like a Spider-Man, Dan Goodwin, because he takes like eight hours to
00:06:38.400 climb these things. And I'm, I'm pretty quick. I climb them all within like an hour. And so I try
00:06:43.580 not to use up their resources just as much as possible. But yeah, you know, there's, it's not
00:06:50.320 actually illegal to do what I'm doing. I'm getting charged with trespassing. And it's one of those
00:06:57.500 things like the police don't know how to charge me. They look at what I've done and they say, well,
00:07:02.660 I'm pretty sure this has got to be illegal. And so they hit me with charges. And luckily I have good
00:07:08.260 lawyers. We're just going to get it all thrown away. But it's, it's definitely something I wish I
00:07:13.500 could avoid if it was ever possible. But the best thing to do is whenever you're in a police
00:07:18.640 confrontation, it's just listen to them, let them do their thing and worry about it later.
00:07:24.640 Okay. So what's your main message? What message did you unfurl in one of the buildings where you did
00:07:31.580 it? Yeah. So, you know, I'm climbing to raise money for pro-life charities and raise awareness. I
00:07:39.320 guess it's multifaceted, right? And recently, and from, from the beginning, I was raising money for
00:07:46.440 this charity. They're called let them live. But recently I've partnered with them, which has been
00:07:51.200 an awesome experience. But what they do is they try to provide financial assistance, whether that's
00:07:57.380 housing or medical care or anything that women really needs. But on top of that, they offer job
00:08:03.480 services and counseling so that after the baby's born, the mom can provide a fruitful life for her child.
00:08:11.020 And I think doing what let them live is doing is very important, because it very well might be that
00:08:19.220 this week Roe v. Wade comes to an end, and a lot of states are going to ban abortion. But even so,
00:08:26.420 these women, they can still fly to California, they can still fly to New York and get these extremely
00:08:31.380 late term abortions. And odds are, now that it's banned in those states, there's going to be some
00:08:36.820 bureaucracy they have to go through. And so most abortions that are going to be happening are going
00:08:42.080 to be extremely late term abortions. And so I think offering the alternative that let them live
00:08:50.120 has been doing, I think it's just something that we as pro-lifers need to stand up and support.
00:08:56.780 So that's, that's, that's been my goals to really just raise money for, for these organizations.
00:09:02.160 Great. What gave you such strong pro-life convictions? You're sort of giving a good
00:09:08.540 part of your life to this now. What's, what's motivating you there? And how did you come to
00:09:12.040 your beliefs? Yeah, you know, I was raised Catholic. And so I've always been around the pro-life
00:09:19.060 view. In high school, I moved to California. And so you hear both sides. And I heard the one side
00:09:27.680 that says, you know, it's fine, don't worry about it. It's like popping a zit. And then I heard the
00:09:34.600 other side that said, no, like, life is beautiful, we need to protect it. And, you know, even if it
00:09:41.440 wasn't murder, you don't know that, like, you're just you're coming up to your own assumption.
00:09:46.420 Like, and so I just think the arguments on the pro-life side are way more powerful, and way more
00:09:54.640 logical than the arguments that these pro-life are these, excuse me, pro-choice people are making.
00:10:00.140 I mean, these pro-choice people are, they're making devilish arguments. They, they, they stand
00:10:05.440 against families, they're, they're against motherhood, and they're against life in general.
00:10:11.120 They, they have this fear of overpopulation, and they have this fear of, of children. And I think
00:10:18.320 we need to stand up and protect, protect these babies.
00:10:26.060 Mason, where can people learn more about you, what you're doing and stay in touch with you?
