The John-Henry Westen Show - Michigan GOP candidate Ryan Kelley speaks out after FBI arrest： 'Christians are being persecuted'

00:00:00.400 President Joe Biden has turned the United States into something of a banana republic.

00:00:05.760 It is unbelievable, his corruption, not only his family corruption, not only his stumbling

00:00:10.780 over words and being unable to do anything without a teleprompter, but this latest thing

00:00:15.580 of him having Ryan Kelly arrested.

00:00:19.800 Ryan Kelly, by the way, running for governor of Michigan, he's a family man.

00:00:25.220 We're going to get into that because we've got Ryan Kelly with us today.

00:00:27.680 But it's unbelievable that Biden would have political opponents arrested for no reason,

00:00:34.220 showing total corruption.

00:00:35.600 This is the John Henry Weston Show.

00:00:37.480 Stay tuned.

00:00:58.460 Ryan Kelly, welcome to the program.

00:01:01.020 Good to be here with you today, sir.

00:01:02.400 Thanks for having me on.

00:01:04.220 Let's begin, as we always do, with the sign of the cross.

00:01:06.680 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

00:01:11.260 Amen.

00:01:13.220 So, Ryan, it's just an incredible time for you because you have been the focus of so much

00:01:19.280 media.

00:01:19.600 Tucker talked about you one night, then had you on.

00:01:22.880 Fox News has been talking about you because it's unreal.

00:01:26.340 And what's so beautiful to me is that, yes, you are already the frontrunner, but your lead

00:01:34.560 has increased with the arrest and so on.

00:01:39.020 So, tell us, first of all, a little bit about those numbers and what you've seen of late

00:01:44.120 since the arrest and its effect so far for your campaign.

00:01:47.180 The most recent polls, the last few of them that have come out, John, have showed that

00:01:53.160 I'm the frontrunner by at least 4% and that they continue to expand that lead.

00:02:00.720 And the real poll that matters, as we know, is what happens on August 2nd in the primary

00:02:05.180 election.

00:02:06.200 But I'll tell you, the day that I was arrested, so many people came down to the courthouse in

00:02:12.060 support, and since then, it has been exponential with the amount of supporters that have become

00:02:19.360 activated, the ones that have reached out and support, the ones that have been on the

00:02:23.940 fence.

00:02:24.300 Well, I wasn't sure who I'm decided to vote for yet, but now I am.

00:02:28.440 I'm voting for Ryan Kelly.

00:02:30.200 It's really been a tremendous amount of blessing, I think, in regard to the number of people that

00:02:36.040 are now behind me, and I think going into these next few weeks here, I think it looks

00:02:41.140 very good for us to win the primary election here.

00:02:44.920 And I think you just had a debate with the other candidates.

00:02:47.080 How did that go?

00:02:48.540 There was a debate in Sterling Heights, and the straw poll that came out from the ones that

00:02:53.660 were attending there, I won that straw poll with almost 56% of the vote.

00:03:01.800 That's huge.

00:03:02.400 Absolutely beautiful what's going on, but despite the beauty, and it is beautiful, and it very

00:03:09.460 much looks like our Lord is blessing you through the trial you had to endure, but I want to

00:03:14.740 talk for a minute about the trial.

00:03:17.260 What's going on in America is very serious.

00:03:21.360 President Biden is turning America into a country that is full of corruption.

00:03:27.380 His own corruption is spilling out onto the American scene, and it's changing America.

00:03:33.940 It's making it look like something that it's not.

00:03:36.880 We're not used to arrests for no reason, for political expediency, but that's what we've

00:03:43.840 seen.

00:03:44.880 So you weren't in the Capitol building.

00:03:48.100 You were there, I presume.

00:03:51.080 What were you there for?

00:03:51.860 From the very start of when people started accusing me of being there in Washington, D.C.

00:04:01.200 on January 6th, I never denied it from the very beginning, back in January of 2021.

00:04:07.720 I said, you know, absolutely I was there in Washington, D.C.

00:04:10.700 And, you know, the way that our 2020 election was handled, right?

00:04:14.480 I was there supporting President Trump, the fraud that happened in the 2020 election here

00:04:20.240 in Michigan, many other places.

00:04:22.540 We were unhappy on how that process turned out, and we were unhappy that those that had

00:04:28.060 the ability to take a closer look refused to want to uncover the truth in what happened

00:04:33.440 in the 2020 election.

00:04:35.080 So I'm there exercising my First Amendment of assembly, protesting the government, right?

00:04:41.420 You're correct.

00:04:42.060 I never entered the Capitol building.

00:04:43.960 I never fought with police officers.

00:04:45.920 There was no altercation there.

00:04:47.920 You know, I didn't go there for any of that.

00:04:50.400 You know, I went there to exercise my First Amendment as an American citizen.

00:04:54.700 And the political left-leaning narrative with all of this is to try to eliminate and destroy

00:05:04.040 the Trump supporters, the ones that really love America, the ones that really love our country

00:05:08.620 as a republic, and the ones that are calling foul on the 2020 election, saying, hey, that

00:05:14.520 was fraudulent, and we want to get to the bottom of it.

00:05:17.840 Now, this is so interesting because I think Biden sort of spills the beans, perhaps in ways

00:05:24.260 that he shouldn't.

00:05:25.900 Didn't he say just before that he was going to be arresting his political opponents?

00:05:31.040 Let's have a look at this, a clip of his on Jimmy Kimmel.

00:05:33.600 Look, the Republicans don't play it square.

00:05:38.080 Why do you play it square?

00:05:39.620 Yeah.

00:05:39.820 Well, guess what?

00:05:41.220 If we do the same thing they do, our democracy will literally be in jeopardy.

00:05:45.060 Well, yeah.

00:05:46.060 I mean, it's not a joke.

00:05:47.760 And I understand that argument, but also it's like you're playing Monopoly with somebody

00:05:52.480 who, you know, won't pass go and won't follow any of the rules.

00:05:56.040 And how do you ever make any progress if they're not following the rules?

00:06:00.480 Well, you've got to send them to jail, you know.

00:06:03.240 There's that little box in there.

00:06:04.780 Directly to jail.

00:06:06.500 It's still directly to jail.

00:06:08.320 The president is with us, Joseph Biden.

00:06:10.340 We'll be right back.

00:06:13.740 Okay, Ryan, what happened there?

00:06:16.220 What's that all about?

00:06:16.960 12 hours later, after he said that, the FBI showed me at my house to arrest me.

00:06:24.960 So, you know, is there a correlation there?

00:06:27.280 Was that a direct communication of that?

00:06:30.100 You know, I don't know.

00:06:30.840 I'm not pointing the finger at that.

00:06:32.340 But it's no coincidence here, John, because what we see is that, you know,

00:06:38.000 they continue to come after anyone that they disagree with, right?

00:06:43.160 They continue to weaponize the FBI and really, you know, their failed Democrat policies

00:06:49.280 is what's on most Americans' minds.

00:06:52.140 The high inflation, the high record, high gas prices, food prices are skyrocketing,

00:06:57.460 especially for families like mine and many others that have multiple kids.

00:07:01.860 You know, we have energy blackouts here in the state of Michigan, right?

00:07:05.220 We have baby formula shortages, things that matter to everyday Americans.

00:07:09.380 And, you know, yet the left still thinks that January 6th is the top of everyone's not.

00:07:15.700 People don't care.

00:07:16.660 People don't care about that, right?

00:07:17.680 It's not affecting their day-to-day life.

00:07:19.600 And so, you know, the timing of that was, you know, in correlation with the primetime

00:07:27.440 January 6th committee starting back up and, you know, the same time where I'm leading

00:07:33.040 in the polls, right?

00:07:33.820 I'm the frontrunner.

00:07:34.500 Ryan Kelly's the frontrunner.

00:07:35.860 How's that?

00:07:36.540 He hasn't raised the most amount of money.

00:07:38.060 He hasn't spent the most amount of money.

00:07:40.220 You know what?

00:07:41.120 I'm on God's side.

00:07:42.440 I put in the hard work traveling around the state, meeting with people.

00:07:45.540 I have a strong message and I'm not scared.

00:07:48.960 And I speak it clearly, strong conservative values, and it's attracting people to our message.

00:07:55.100 And that's how we're winning.

00:07:56.620 And that's how we're going to win this whole entire thing and make Gretchen Whitmer a one-term 1.00

00:08:00.240 governor.

00:08:00.700 Very exciting, hopeful future for Michigan.

00:08:04.160 Amazing.

00:08:04.600 However, I wanted to get into what this means, what this looks like.

00:08:11.400 You're a father, you're a husband and father of six little children.

00:08:16.660 I believe your oldest is 12.

00:08:18.940 And your youngest, what, a newborn still.

00:08:23.500 Yes.

00:08:23.840 So you're arrested.

00:08:27.940 How does that look like for your family?

00:08:30.260 First of all, tell us what happened.

00:08:33.380 Difficult for the family to have to experience something like that, right?

00:08:37.120 And, you know, it was, it negatively impacted them for sure.

00:08:43.480 You know, same thing with my wife. 1.00

00:08:44.680 I mean, you know, invading our privacy, you know, coming into our house, raiding our house,

00:08:52.440 right in front of all of the kids.

00:08:54.880 It's tough for them.

00:08:56.060 It really is.

00:08:56.620 It negatively impacted them over, you know, misdemeanor charges.

00:09:03.460 Sending all those agents to the house, you know, and as litigation moves on more with

00:09:08.720 the case here, we'll be able to share more of the details and the specifics of everything

00:09:12.360 now.

00:09:12.900 So, you know, there's a limited amount that I can talk about without, you know, diving

00:09:17.160 into the specifics because we want to have a strong defense here.

00:09:19.820 So, you know, it's not easy for the family.

00:09:23.400 We'll say that, right?

00:09:24.440 And it's still something that, you know, that impacts them negatively.

00:09:29.220 Yeah.

00:09:30.140 What an alarm for your family, for your children especially, what a negative impression that's

00:09:37.020 going to leave with them when they know you're innocent, you're upstanding, you're a citizen

00:09:43.200 who is trying his best to protect life, family, faith, and freedom, not only for your

00:09:49.280 country, but you're stepping out to do that for your state, for your country.

00:09:54.720 And this is how you're treated.

00:09:56.020 That's right.

00:09:56.520 And yeah, this is the aiming to silence conservatives.

00:10:02.260 We see it on Twitter.

00:10:03.400 We see it on Facebook.

00:10:04.660 We see it on other social media.

00:10:06.280 And we're seeing it in real life, too.

00:10:09.020 And this is, you know, something that, you know, we talk with my kids about, you know,

00:10:13.300 fighting for freedom, right?

00:10:14.440 There's going to be people that don't like us and try to shut us down.

00:10:17.660 And, you know, we look for the things that we can find in all of this to grow from, to

00:10:22.440 becoming stronger, to having, you know, more faith that leads us to, you know, a better

00:10:28.680 prosperous future.

00:10:30.100 So, you know, you look at it from the flip side of the coin as well, but we have these

00:10:33.960 discussions as a family and, you know, we knew it was going to be hard.

00:10:39.080 We knew that Christians are being persecuted right now.

00:10:41.700 Conservatives are being persecuted right now.

00:10:43.760 And I'm a strong, conservative Christian and speaking up and they want to silence me.

00:10:50.660 And they know that, you know, Governor Kelly is, you know, a threat to their left-wing

00:10:56.480 agenda.

00:10:57.080 We're going to shut down their hormone blockers for children in our schools and the pushing 1.00

00:11:03.260 of transgenderism and the sexualization of our children. 1.00

00:11:06.420 That's not going to fly with Governor Kelly, right?

00:11:08.540 We're not going that direction.

00:11:09.580 We're going the other direction.

00:11:11.200 We're going to get rid of this leftist indoctrination on our schools.

00:11:14.520 We're going the other direction.

00:11:17.400 Whitmer talks about pushing a social justice agenda.

00:11:20.400 I want to push an economic agenda and an academic agenda.

00:11:25.000 Yeah.

00:11:25.940 What's really beautiful is you're overtly pro-life and you're overtly pro-freedom.

00:11:32.060 Um, it's amazing to see that you are going against the sort of mandates and lockdowns and all

00:11:40.140 these things that so harmed the people, not only of Michigan, all the United States.

00:11:46.680 And, uh, it's also amazing to me, you're willing to fight despite the overt persecution you're

00:11:53.640 already getting.

00:11:54.280 And you're instilling into your children as young as they are, that example of willing

00:11:59.920 to fight for your country, even when things are going bad.

00:12:03.900 Can't expect things always go good.

00:12:06.480 And the adversity that comes along with it is something that helps us to grow to those

00:12:10.840 people.

00:12:11.180 And when Ronald Reagan mentioned that freedom is one generation away from extinction, you

00:12:16.200 know, we don't pass it on in the bloodline.

00:12:18.340 You have to teach your children, you have to show them.

00:12:21.320 And that's how you pass it on in the bloodline.

00:12:23.320 It's not, it's not a heredity trait, right?

00:12:25.920 It's something that has to be law, uh, learned and taught.

00:12:29.480 And so that's part of what's happening here too.

00:12:32.260 And it's not just my family because, you know, there's a lot of eyeballs on this case.

00:12:38.240 There's a lot of eyeballs on me.

00:12:39.820 I'll tell you the name recognition from this alone.

00:12:42.480 I mean, can't really buy that kind of publicity, right?

00:12:48.580 It's just, it's how it happened.

00:12:50.640 And so, you know, there's been a lot of other people that have seen what's happened.

00:12:54.200 And as I mentioned in the beginning, reached out with support, but, you know, talking points

00:12:58.020 for their kids as well and bringing the whole picture together.

00:13:00.900 And, you know, as you mentioned in the beginning of the show, the corruption from the Biden

00:13:04.340 administration, the corruption that we have at the state level here.

00:13:08.020 And, and so much in our, in our government is really truly being exposed and the America

00:13:15.020 first Republicans I see are coming out in very strong numbers for school boards, county

00:13:21.420 commissions, state reps, senators, governors, Congress, and that wave, I believe of really

00:13:28.920 the America first conservatives, right?

00:13:31.260 Republicans have failed us in a lot of ways as well.

00:13:34.360 I'm an America first conservative, right?

00:13:37.380 And, and I think that that is what you're going to see a majority of, you know, moving

00:13:41.840 forward to, to take some of these strong positions in our government and really turn our country

00:13:47.020 around, push globalism away and really bring God back into the fold of, of a hopeful, prosperous

00:13:54.460 future filled with freedom and liberty.

00:13:56.560 Ryan, I love what you said, that you couldn't have paid enough for the kind of advertising

00:14:02.700 you have.

00:14:03.500 There's a, there's a saying that what the devil intends for ill, God can use for good.

00:14:08.620 And in your case, it's already shown that even at this early point, where can people

00:14:14.140 find out more about you, about your campaign?

00:14:16.100 You can go on my website, which is ryandkelly.com, r-y-a-n-d-k-e-l-l-e-y.com, ryandkelly.com.

00:14:26.440 You can see there's a spot on there for the legal defense fund.

00:14:29.520 If people are willing to give to the legal defense fund, that's going to go to help fight

00:14:33.000 this case that does not go to the campaign.

00:14:35.920 My, my hundred day plan is on there.

00:14:37.920 So people can see the hundred day plan that I have laid out.

00:14:40.800 There's other information about my Michigan first policy.

00:14:43.720 There's spots on there to volunteer.

00:14:45.760 You can kind of poke around there.

00:14:47.320 It's, it's, it's in depth, but it's not too much information that you can't digest either.

00:14:51.980 So encourage people to go over there.

00:14:53.560 My social media links are on there as well.

00:14:56.020 You can find me on the different social media links.

00:14:58.900 We, we have a very big online presence with social media and plenty of information for people

00:15:05.620 to look through.

00:15:07.160 Beautiful.

00:15:07.820 Would you come back on when you're elected governor?

00:15:10.600 Absolutely.

00:15:12.400 That is awesome, Ryan.

00:15:13.720 Godspeed to you.

00:15:15.760 And thank you so much for what you're doing for America.

00:15:18.460 Thank you, sir.

00:15:19.060 Appreciate the time today.

00:15:21.240 And God bless all of you.

00:15:23.060 We'll see you next time.

00:15:23.960 We'll see you next time.
