The John-Henry Westen Show - Plenty of evidence suggests Trump is fulfilling prophecy, leading America back to God

00:00:00.060 Did you catch President Trump the other day acknowledging Jesus Christ by name?

00:00:04.260 Did you see him pointing up to heaven and saying we need help from God,

00:00:08.100 not only from science in dealing with coronavirus?

00:00:11.000 Most of the media totally ignored it, but LifeSite covered it.

00:00:14.740 It was only one of the examples where you can see that President Trump is fulfilling

00:00:19.680 that prophecy made about him in the 1980s by that Catholic holy man

00:00:25.260 about being used powerfully by God.

00:00:29.300 He is truly leading America back to God.

00:00:33.400 And this show will show you many, many examples of how he's been doing that.

00:00:38.980 Stay tuned.

00:00:39.380 Let's begin, as we always do, with the sign of the cross.

00:01:00.320 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

00:01:04.040 Just this past Sunday at Mass, we heard the reading from Isaiah about how God chose King Cyrus

00:01:11.880 to free the chosen people from Babylon. 0.92

00:01:15.240 Even though Cyrus was not a believer, he was chosen by God to carry out his will.

00:01:21.440 That's the Lord's will.

00:01:22.240 The Lord took the king by the hand, we heard in the reading.

00:01:26.320 How very similar is that to that prophecy of the Catholic holy man Tom Zimmer we heard about

00:01:32.240 from the 1980s, who was told that God had his hand on Donald Trump and would use him as his instrument.

00:01:39.920 And we've truly seen miraculous things happen with Trump.

00:01:45.280 A man who literally no one could have believed would do anything remotely close to leading America back to God.

00:01:52.480 And yet, look at what he's done.

00:01:55.340 Just last week, Trump pointed to heaven, acknowledging God as the boss from where comes our help.

00:02:01.400 He acknowledged Christ by name and his greatness.

00:02:04.740 You still need help from the boss.

00:02:08.960 You need help from the boss.

00:02:11.040 Somebody said to me the other day, you're the most famous person in the world by far.

00:02:14.920 I said, no, I'm not.

00:02:16.140 No, I'm not.

00:02:17.040 They said, yes, you are.

00:02:18.040 I said, no.

00:02:19.020 They said, who's more famous?

00:02:20.220 I said, Jesus Christ.

00:02:24.060 And boy, what an effect it had.

00:02:26.540 Just watch this reaction.

00:02:27.620 Boy, he blew my mind last night, and I was weeping like a baby when he said, Jesus Christ is the boss.

00:02:35.840 He's the boss.

00:02:36.960 And just before that, he lambasted those who were bashing the Catholic faith of Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett,

00:02:45.340 saying that he would stand with her and defend her faith.

00:02:49.260 Watch.

00:02:50.300 But seriously, they're going after her Catholicism.

00:02:53.640 I will stand with her, fight with her, and we will make sure that these attacks stop because they're really, it's unprecedented.

00:03:02.660 They're basically fighting a major religion in our country. 0.91

00:03:05.500 This is incredible.

00:03:07.280 Fighting any religion, fighting Catholicism, is just incredible that they can be doing it. 0.98

00:03:14.080 Earlier this month, he spoke of protecting the Catholic Church specifically, praising the Catholic faith.

00:03:20.320 Now more than ever, our nation needs a renewal of the values this organization promotes,

00:03:27.400 and that the Catholic faithful live out each and every day in peace.

00:03:32.160 We love the Catholic people.

00:03:35.000 We love the Catholic religion.

00:03:37.560 And above all, we respect it greatly.

00:03:40.500 As president, I will always support you in your effort to serve our fellow citizens and to lift up all humanity.

00:03:46.920 I will protect the Catholic Church, and I will defend the rights of religious believers of every race, religion, color, and creed.

00:03:54.560 But remember how recently he was kneeling in front of the altar at the National Shrine of Pope St. John Paul II in Washington?

00:04:02.760 And back in September, LifeSite's Washington, D.C. correspondent Doug Mainwaring reported, and I quote,

00:04:08.400 Trump's official announcement accepting the Republican Party's nomination to run for re-election

00:04:13.740 was immediately followed by a beautiful rendition of Ave Maria, the Hail Mary, sung in Latin, honoring the Blessed Virgin Mother.

00:04:22.660 And while churches were being attacked and burned during the riots,

00:04:36.640 he stood in front of the closest Christian church to the White House, holding up the Holy Bible.

00:04:42.160 But it was actually right out of the gate that we could see a massive sea change with President Trump.

00:04:49.580 In stark contrast to President Obama, who intentionally omitted references to God contained in the United States' founding documents

00:04:57.200 and official declarations in his speeches, both at home and abroad,

00:05:01.700 Trump mentioned God several times in his inaugural address and surrounded himself with faithful Catholics and other Christians.

00:05:09.000 That contrast was most striking in President Trump's first Thanksgiving proclamation.

00:05:16.780 Because in 2009, President Obama made history in his first year in the White House

00:05:23.180 in that he was the first president to omit directly thanking God in his Thanksgiving proclamation,

00:05:31.240 a trend that Obama largely continued during his remaining years in office.

00:05:35.740 But President Trump mentioned God eight times in his first Thanksgiving address.

00:05:42.080 On their first Thanksgiving, they came together to rejoice after their harvest and praise God for his provision.

00:05:48.940 Since then, Americans have always remembered the blessings of freedom and the glory of God.

00:05:55.140 I'm going to tell you my favorite example of Trump bringing America back to God in just a little bit.

00:06:01.120 But remember first, when in February 2017, the First Lady, Melania Trump,

00:06:07.460 prayed the Lord's Prayer at a Trump rally, and the president complimented her for it?

00:06:12.640 It was incredible.

00:06:13.540 Watch this.

00:06:14.960 Let us pray.

00:06:17.360 Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name,

00:06:23.060 thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

00:06:28.400 Give us these days our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,

00:06:35.360 as we forgive those who trespass against us.

00:06:39.900 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

00:06:45.460 For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

00:06:52.560 And just before that, President Trump spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast.

00:06:58.020 He said the world has a duty to stop the genocide of Christians in the Middle East,

00:07:03.460 that we must never, ever stop asking God for wisdom.

00:07:07.520 For us here in Washington, we must never, ever stop asking God for the wisdom to serve the public

00:07:15.760 according to his will.

00:07:17.680 Remember the president's first Christmas address?

00:07:21.520 He spoke of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,

00:07:25.580 in an address washed by millions and millions around the world,

00:07:29.580 and that was, he was unashamed of America's Christian heritage.

00:07:34.460 For Christians, this is a holy season,

00:07:37.700 the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

00:07:42.620 In May of 2018, Mike Pence revealed that President Trump regularly asks himself,

00:07:49.960 the president asks, to open White House meetings in prayer.

00:07:54.220 The president also is leading America back to God,

00:07:59.680 not only in a way that some people might dismiss as sort of pious platitudes,

00:08:04.620 he has taken action with real results for Christians.

00:08:08.220 And, you know, there are so many items that I could list,

00:08:12.620 but I can only have time for a few.

00:08:14.720 So, you might want to go check out this list from the Family Research Council,

00:08:19.480 but here are only a few highlights.

00:08:22.940 Already, by July 13th, 2017, under President Donald Trump,

00:08:27.560 more Christian refugees were admitted to the United States,

00:08:30.920 and that's only the first six months of 2017.

00:08:33.520 So, more Christians were admitted to the United States than Muslim refugees,

00:08:38.600 which is a great departure from the Obama era.

00:08:41.380 In January 2016, President Trump proclaimed January 16th to be Religious Freedom Day.

00:08:48.480 He said,

00:08:49.720 No American, whether a nun, nurse, baker, or business owner, 1.00

00:08:54.300 should be forced to choose between the tenets of faith or adherence to the law.

00:08:59.200 And, of course, that referred to all of the anti-Christian religious persecution

00:09:04.920 happening in America because of the forcing of decisions around same-sex marriage.

00:09:12.800 On May 3rd, 2018, Trump signed the executive order creating a faith-based office in the White House.

00:09:20.680 On October 12th, 2018, there was a U.S. Christian pastor freed from Turkey

00:09:27.520 after the Trump administration made a deal.

00:09:30.500 On December 26th, 2018, the Department of Justice under Trump

00:09:34.800 filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court

00:09:37.560 defending a publicly displayed cross in a Veterans Memorial.

00:09:43.240 Trump got rid of the contraceptive mandate which harmed faith-based organizations

00:09:49.100 such as the Little Sisters of the Poor.

00:09:51.900 In May of last year, Trump signed an executive order

00:09:55.300 allowing churches to speak from the pulpit on political issues, i.e. abortion,

00:09:59.980 and not risk their tax-exempt status,

00:10:02.920 while also protecting religious freedom in speech for individuals.

00:10:06.500 The HHS, under Trump, has investigated conscience complaints

00:10:12.000 related to abortion at least three times.

00:10:14.560 And, in fact, on August 28th, the HHS issued a notice of violation

00:10:18.880 to the University of Vermont Medical Center

00:10:21.300 for forcing a student nurse to participate in an abortion

00:10:24.800 despite a conscientious objection.

00:10:27.560 On September 23rd, President Trump hosted a meeting

00:10:31.740 during the U.N. General Assembly

00:10:34.260 and gave a speech solely on the topic of religious freedom.

00:10:38.160 During the speech, he announced a U.S. policy initiative

00:10:41.120 to protect places of worship,

00:10:43.580 pledging an additional $25 million in funding

00:10:46.180 to protect religious sites and relics.

00:10:49.020 President Trump also announced the U.S. would form a coalition

00:10:52.100 within the business community to protect religious freedom.

00:10:55.760 And it marked the first time a U.S. president

00:10:58.960 has hosted a meeting focused solely on religious freedom at the U.N.

00:11:03.080 And that's according to the Family Research Council.

00:11:06.960 On January 16, 2020, the Departments of Education and Justice

00:11:11.160 issued guidance on constitutionally protected prayer

00:11:14.720 and religious expression in public, elementary, and secondary schools.

00:11:20.180 This guidance ensures that prayer in schools

00:11:22.960 are properly protected

00:11:24.700 and not unconstitutionally prohibited or curtailed.

00:11:30.360 And remember when President Trump declared churches essential services

00:11:35.720 because anti-religion mayors and governors

00:11:39.060 were allowing liquor stores and abortion mills to open,

00:11:42.060 but not churches?

00:11:42.680 Today I'm identifying houses of worship,

00:11:50.120 churches, synagogues,

00:11:51.860 and mosques

00:11:54.040 as essential places that provide essential services.

00:12:00.060 Some governors have deemed liquor stores

00:12:02.760 and abortion clinics as essential,

00:12:05.060 but have left out churches and other houses of worship.

00:12:08.800 It's not right.

00:12:09.660 So I'm correcting this injustice

00:12:12.300 and calling houses of worship essential.

00:12:17.200 I call upon governors to allow our churches

00:12:19.860 and places of worship to open right now.

00:12:24.620 If there's any question,

00:12:27.700 they're going to have to call me,

00:12:28.860 but they're not going to be successful in that call.

00:12:31.840 These are places that hold our society together

00:12:34.840 and keep our people united.

00:12:36.400 The people are demanding to go to church and synagogue,

00:12:41.480 go to their mosque. 0.94

00:12:43.520 Many millions of Americans embrace worship

00:12:46.420 as an essential part of life.

00:12:49.600 The ministers, pastors, rabbis, imams,

00:12:53.280 and other faith leaders

00:12:55.160 will make sure that their congregations are safe

00:12:58.500 as they gather and pray.

00:13:01.980 I know them well.

00:13:03.320 They love their congregations.

00:13:06.680 They love their people.

00:13:08.580 They don't want anything bad to happen to them

00:13:10.660 or to anybody else.

00:13:12.400 The governors need to do the right thing

00:13:14.700 and allow these very important,

00:13:16.320 essential places of faith to open right now

00:13:21.100 for this weekend.

00:13:23.680 If they don't do it,

00:13:24.960 I will override the governors.

00:13:27.680 In America, we need more prayer, not less.

00:13:31.420 Thank you very much.

00:13:33.080 Thank you.

00:13:33.840 Well, it wasn't all just talk.

00:13:36.320 On April 14th,

00:13:37.400 the Department of Justice filed a statement of interest

00:13:40.180 protecting the religious liberty of church goers

00:13:43.100 in Greenville, Mississippi

00:13:44.240 during the coronavirus pandemic.

00:13:46.920 It was the city of Greenville

00:13:48.120 banned all religious services,

00:13:49.940 even those that were able to abide

00:13:51.480 by social distancing standards,

00:13:53.200 with drive-in church services.

00:13:55.280 On April 17th,

00:13:56.500 the Department of Homeland Security

00:13:57.960 included clergy for essential support

00:14:01.040 in its list of personnel and entities

00:14:03.660 deemed essential for the purposes

00:14:05.660 of responding to the coronavirus.

00:14:07.360 And this designation

00:14:08.400 allowed clergy and pastors

00:14:10.480 more freedom to continue

00:14:11.780 to operate and serve

00:14:13.500 in this time of need.

00:14:17.000 On April 27th,

00:14:18.740 Attorney General William Barr

00:14:20.920 directed federal prosecutors

00:14:22.560 to monitor and, if necessary,

00:14:24.320 take action to correct

00:14:26.300 state and local policies

00:14:28.120 that discriminate against

00:14:30.300 religious institutions and believers

00:14:31.960 while battling the coronavirus epidemic.

00:14:35.580 Now, we've got to end this list here

00:14:37.920 because it's getting too long,

00:14:39.220 but I wanted to conclude

00:14:40.320 with my all-time favorite memory

00:14:42.100 of President Trump

00:14:42.940 promoting faith in God.

00:14:44.680 It was during his trip to Poland

00:14:46.700 where, in response

00:14:48.080 to his faith-filled speech,

00:14:50.020 the Poles could not help 1.00

00:14:51.460 but chant,

00:14:52.280 Donald Trump,

00:14:53.200 Donald Trump.

00:14:54.780 And what was his own chant,

00:14:57.180 if you will?

00:14:58.260 He said,

00:14:58.780 America says with you, 0.81

00:15:00.840 we want God.

00:15:02.700 Watch this.

00:15:04.200 Through four decades

00:15:05.560 of communist rule,

00:15:07.280 Poland and the other 0.98

00:15:08.980 captive nations of Europe

00:15:10.520 endured a brutal campaign

00:15:13.140 to demolish freedom

00:15:14.420 your faith,

00:15:15.820 your laws,

00:15:16.600 your history,

00:15:17.560 your identity,

00:15:18.860 indeed,

00:15:19.500 the very essence

00:15:20.640 of your culture

00:15:21.920 and your humanity.

00:15:23.960 And when the day came

00:15:25.180 on June 2nd, 1979,

00:15:28.380 and one million Poles

00:15:30.120 gathered around Victory Square

00:15:31.980 for their very first mass

00:15:34.520 with their Polish Pope,

00:15:37.040 that day,

00:15:37.900 every communist in Warsaw

00:15:39.360 must have known

00:15:40.400 that their oppressive system

00:15:42.680 would soon come crashing down.

00:15:46.180 They must have known it

00:15:47.560 at the exact moment

00:15:48.900 during Pope John Paul II's sermon

00:15:51.580 when a million Polish men,

00:15:53.880 women, and children 0.97

00:15:54.760 suddenly raised their voices

00:15:57.000 in a single prayer.

00:15:59.680 We want God.

00:16:01.780 Together with Pope John Paul II,

00:16:04.260 the Poles reasserted their identity

00:16:07.400 as a nation devoted to God.

00:16:09.720 You stood in solidarity

00:16:11.640 against oppression,

00:16:13.380 against a cruel and wicked system

00:16:15.480 that impoverished your cities

00:16:17.460 and your souls.

00:16:19.080 And you won.

00:16:20.500 We can still hear those voices

00:16:23.020 that echo through history.

00:16:24.860 Their message is as true today

00:16:27.520 as ever.

00:16:28.860 For the people of Poland,

00:16:31.500 the people of America,

00:16:33.260 and the people of Europe

00:16:34.580 still cry out,

00:16:37.160 we want God.
