Popular YouTube comedian becoming pro-life still gets one thing wrong about abortion

Summary

J.P. Sears has a revelation about abortion, and it's brilliant, and controversial, and we're going to get into it on this episode of the John Henry Weston Show. The Pro-Life argumentation works because we present an argument that's sane and sound, and for the first time people actually think, "whoa, that's what it is." That's what abortion is.

00:00:00.000 I'm sure you all know J.P. Sears. He is an amazing combination between comedian and serious commentator. He puts in so much comedy and farce into it. It's just an interesting thing that the internet has now brought us and many, many people know him.
00:00:18.180 I was stunned at one time that he did that. He was wearing a life jacket and making a comedy or a farce out of the use of masks. I'm not going swimming, but you have to wear it anyway. But I know how to swim, but you have to wear it anyway. You need to wear two life jackets. It was just phenomenal.
00:00:34.920 Anyway, he's made a video about abortion. And it's brilliant, but it's also controversial. We're going to get into it on this episode of The John Henry Weston Show. Stay tuned.
00:00:48.180 Let's begin, as we always do, with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
00:01:14.800 Now, J.P. Sears is very interesting. As I said at the outset, he's a comedian. He's also very intelligent. He unpacks abortion in his latest video in really an amazing way.
00:01:30.380 But I want to show you first how comedic he is. Get this from this video.
00:01:35.860 Because as a man who obviously could get pregnant at any time, I just feel that it's important that my voice is heard on the matter.
00:01:43.940 And if you don't think my voice should be heard, then that implies that you don't think men can get pregnant.
00:01:49.260 So be careful, because we don't want you contradicting yourself with the conflicting Marxist agendas that your mind is infected with.
00:01:55.580 So isn't that amazing? He uses the culture that we currently live in and points out how unbelievably hypocritical it is just with pretending it's straight. It's amazing stuff.
00:02:09.400 Now, J.P. is not really for the faint of heart. He does some kind of quasi-controversial things.
00:02:16.680 He will appear with his shirt off and do all sorts of strange things, but he's still a hoot.
00:02:21.960 Perhaps not for a junior audience, but he's a hoot.
00:02:24.780 So let's listen to what he has to say next.
00:02:26.720 I think there's evil, tyrannical people in this world, controlled by Satan, if I'm being honest, and I am, who want to keep the population of the world small so it's easier for them to control everybody, and they want to destroy the nuclear family so people grow up weaker and are therefore more controllable.
00:02:43.780 It's amazing. He has an understanding of evil.
00:02:46.280 I don't know what perspective, Christian-wise or whatnot, he's coming from, but he's very clear thinking, and he says it in only the way he can, so matter-of-factly, yet it's in the midst of comedy, but it's amazing stuff, and that really is his shtick.
00:03:02.620 That's what he does, but let's hear some more of what J.P. Sears has to say.
00:03:06.180 The thinking that was going through my mind about abortion, it wasn't my thinking.
00:03:13.180 The leftist propaganda about abortion got to me. I'll admit it. I fell for it.
00:03:19.800 And it's 100% my fault. It was nothing other than mental weakness and a lack of self-awareness on my part that allowed it.
00:03:27.640 And the scariest thing about it was I didn't know it was propaganda. I thought it was my own thinking.
00:03:35.580 He's revealing there in this segment, and by the way, you should go watch the whole thing from J.P. Sears. It's amazing. Little series of the sort.
00:03:41.300 But he talks about this part of his old thinking, why he was convinced, and he basically says he had never thought it through himself.
00:03:52.880 He accepted the propaganda from others and just went with it.
00:03:56.160 And that's an amazing thought, because I think that's where it is with so many people.
00:04:01.180 That's why the pro-life argumentation works, because we present an argument that's sane and sound, show them photos of what actually abortion is.
00:04:08.740 And for the first time, they actually think it through. It's like, whoa, that's what it is. Amazing.
00:04:14.680 That's where J.P. Sears is, and he got that revelation, thought about it, and this video is all about how he changed his opinion.
00:04:22.500 But let's listen to where he goes now.
00:04:24.500 And I imagine I was raped, which is certainly an act of evil itself.
00:04:29.200 And I got pregnant from it. I think I would get an abortion.
00:04:34.560 Is that still evil? Probably. But I'd still probably get one.
00:04:39.180 Okay, and you said a couple months after conception. Like, why a couple months, J.P.?
00:04:44.600 It's just kind of an arbitrary number.
00:04:46.500 But what I'm certain of, though, is late-term abortions and even mid-term abortions should be completely banned.
00:04:52.840 Here, he comes up with it thinking that it's very strange, because you can hear it himself.
00:05:01.100 Why? It's arbitrary. Because whatever.
00:05:04.160 It does seem like he's stopped thinking here.
00:05:07.340 It's very interesting, because he went from getting it, thinking it through, but then here, he has a position, but admits he isn't thinking.
00:05:17.120 Admits it's sort of arbitrary. I don't know why. But he's sure that mid-term and late-term abortions should be wrong.
00:05:24.240 And the key information that pro-lifers need to convey to this type of thinking, which is very, very common.
00:05:30.760 It's always the first question you get when you're out picketing for abortion or presenting the pro-life argument.
00:05:35.800 It's what about rape and incest? It's forever the first question.
00:05:38.900 Now, interestingly, one of the first times I experienced this argument to it, it was expressed as coming from an African-American lady on the front lines, on the picket lines.
00:05:50.040 And her comment went something like this.
00:05:53.340 If you're going to kill somebody, why don't you start with a guilty rapist before the innocent child?
00:05:59.040 And it's such a mind-changing argument, because you recognize in it, first of all, we're talking about killing somebody.
00:06:09.120 And then if you're talking about killing somebody for the rape, for the incest, it's true.
00:06:14.780 If you're going to kill somebody, kill the guilty rapist.
00:06:18.340 Now, I'm not advocating here for the killing of people at any stage, but we're talking about if there's guilty, are you in favor of capital punishment?
00:06:29.440 There can be an argument for that.
00:06:30.900 In fact, I hold to that.
00:06:32.360 The church traditionally holds to that.
00:06:34.420 But that's not the point in this piece.
00:06:36.580 In this piece, this lady was bringing forth the truth that you are talking about killing somebody with abortion.
00:06:43.140 So if you're going to kill somebody, then kill the rapist and not the innocent child.
00:06:48.720 That's one piece of the argument.
00:06:50.740 But there's other pieces.
00:06:51.640 Because in addition to that, the feeling is, oh, if I was a woman and a young woman, perhaps my life is destroyed by having a baby.
00:07:01.160 I have to give up my education and so on and so forth.
00:07:03.040 So first of all, that's not always true.
00:07:06.040 You have to give up your education.
00:07:07.080 There's all sorts of programs for that.
00:07:09.040 Secondly, we know on the other end of abortion, because not only do the pro-lifers assist with helping women not to go down that bad path, but also with assisting them once they have.
00:07:22.440 The abortionists will commit the abortion.
00:07:25.040 They're not there to pick up the pieces afterwards.
00:07:26.760 The pro-life movement, they are.
00:07:29.220 And so we've talked to countless women, as the pro-life movement, that is, about the aftermath of abortion.
00:07:36.160 I've talked personally to many.
00:07:37.460 I've got many friends who speak of this.
00:07:40.400 Janet Marana, of course, comes to mind first.
00:07:42.900 Angelina Seenstra in Canada.
00:07:44.600 They run Silent No More.
00:07:46.560 The group which speaks, which is women speaking out about the suffering they endured from abortion.
00:07:51.100 They had their abortions voluntarily, and that abortion has affected them for the rest of their lives.
00:07:57.340 It has harmed them, sometimes made them sterile for the rest of their lives as well.
00:08:01.460 But listen, I've spoken to women who were raped and then had their babies, and women who were raped and then ended their babies' lives by abortion.
00:08:14.040 And here's the difference.
00:08:16.720 The women who had been raped and had an abortion, they found it very difficult to overcome, not so much the rape, but the abortion.
00:08:30.360 Why?
00:08:30.900 Because the rape was done to them, and the abortion, they did themselves.
00:08:36.920 With the abortion, with the rape, they had to forgive the rapist.
00:08:40.680 With the abortion, they had to forgive themselves.
00:08:46.620 On the other end, you have women who have been raped and brought their children to term, some giving them up for adoption, some choosing to raise them themselves.
00:08:58.660 I talked to this one young lady.
00:09:02.720 The rape she experienced was so horrible.
00:09:04.840 It was so violent.
00:09:06.200 It was done by a stranger.
00:09:08.040 Scarred her for life.
00:09:10.680 Almost killed her.
00:09:12.580 And she had that baby.
00:09:15.300 And she said to me, honestly, she would go through that horrible experience again just to have her child.
00:09:23.980 Because her child means so much to her.
00:09:27.060 You can also talk about the children conceived in rape who speak out, like Rebecca Kiesling.
00:09:31.220 And it's an amazing testimony about life in difficult circumstances.
00:09:38.480 They sometimes will have met their birth mother.
00:09:40.780 They were given up for adoption.
00:09:42.000 And they're so grateful to their mother for having given them birth despite the difficult circumstances.
00:09:48.300 So there's a lot of thinking that goes into the pro-life argument, which surmounts any other argument to recognize, to value, and to fight for the right to life from conception to natural death.
00:10:03.000 But J.P. gets there himself in a way.
00:10:07.500 And we really need to pray for him.
00:10:09.160 This is not about condemning J.P. Sears.
00:10:11.460 He's so close.
00:10:12.720 And it's a piece of logic and thinking that he's missing.
00:10:16.180 And he's working towards it.
00:10:17.720 Listen to what he has to say in the end.
00:10:18.940 And I don't know if I'm right with this part of my thinking.
00:10:22.220 I just know it's what my thinking is in this moment.
00:10:25.540 So reach out to J.P. Sears.
00:10:27.240 In kindness, congratulate him on where he's come so far.
00:10:31.940 Give him the extra little pieces.
00:10:34.180 Pray for him.
00:10:35.440 In J.P. Sears, the pro-life movement will have a great fighter for the truth.
00:10:41.000 Thank you for joining us on this episode of The John Henry Weston Show.
00:10:44.200 And may God bless you.
