Taylor Marshall joins me to talk about Pope Leo and his new book, Christian Patriot. We also talk about the upcoming gay pride parade in St. Peter s tomorrow, and why Catholics should care about it. And we talk about how Catholics can be patriots.
00:00:36.780It's staggering news also because we know Pope Leo met with another heretic Catholic, a sister Karam.
00:00:42.700We also know that tomorrow in the Vatican, there's going to be a procession of some 1,000 homosexual activist Catholics through the Holy Doors at St. Peter's.
00:00:54.700Just remind anyone of the prophecy about an abomination of desolation entering the holy place.
00:02:20.420They've written thousands of pages on what the state should look like.
00:02:23.920And most of us, you know, you went to high school and social studies, and they said, oh, separation of church and state and civil liberties and freedoms and your rights.
00:02:32.460But we never really got the real, authentic Christian teaching.
00:02:36.240So this book gives you the first half of it is what does the Catholic Church teach about politics and philosophy and the integration of church and state, which is promoting the common good.
00:02:49.340It's a civilization built on the Beatitudes, the beautiful gospel message of Jesus Christ.
00:02:53.960Who wouldn't want to live in that society?
00:02:56.980And then from there, I give 12 practical steps.
00:03:00.680It's 12 ways to create one nation under God.
00:03:05.080And it's 12 practical ways that every single person watching can begin to implement.
00:03:10.200Personal conversion, defining and protecting marriage, defining and protecting the family, ending pornography, ending human trafficking, implementing just war.
00:03:22.080So we are not just constantly sending money and bullets and tanks and jets all over the world.
00:03:27.460We're actually following what Augustine and Aquinas said is a just war that makes the world a better place.
00:03:33.680And even things like the economy, taxation, inflation, and, you know, Gen Z is waking up and they're wanting to get married and buy houses.
00:03:42.680And it's a whole different ballgame now.
00:03:45.040We as Christians, as patriots, our whole goal is to create a beautiful society, something better, and pass it on to the next generation.
00:04:27.420And we haven't talked enough about it.
00:04:29.800And so I think this is, in a way, sort of a manifesto for Christians, especially for Catholics, to get on the ball about what is our inheritance, our legacy in the political sphere.
00:04:41.840So I loved your book, Infiltration, because it was so clear.
00:04:48.840So here are two hard questions, if you will, that we want a very quick summary for, but I know people can get in more in your book.
00:04:55.860Number one, the whole idea of the death penalty.
00:04:58.300So Catholics are supposed to be for the death penalty, by the faith, and I know it's taught something different somewhere else, but nonetheless, we are.
00:05:06.360But how, in a state that's so unjust and so scary, because you look at the cops and they're beating down the good people, and you're thinking, oh, Lord, what do we do there?
00:05:14.880And then secondly, the idea of freedom when, you know, people want to spread porn, and yet we should be banning porn, but people say, oh, we're in America, we have to have open and free expression.
00:06:20.920It's certainly not opposed to the Old Testament.
00:06:22.840And you have Jesus Christ saying to Pontius Pilate, you would not have this authority to kill me unless it was given to you from above.
00:06:29.220That's Jesus Christ right there talking about the authority to implement the death penalty coming from above.
00:06:35.440Paul talks about it in Romans as well.
00:06:37.800It's really with Pope Francis that we have this insertion that the death penalty is inadmissible.
00:06:44.060So that's a little bit inside baseball.
00:06:45.820But I think if you look at the Christian tradition and in the Old Testament tradition and the natural law tradition, death penalty is admissible, not inadmissible.
00:06:56.060For U.S. residents, creating a will has never been easier.
00:07:00.340Thanks to My Legacy Will, an online platform free of charge, you can now create your own will and choose to include LifeSite News in it.
00:07:08.880Specify where your funeral will take place, the number of masses to be offered for your soul, and how your estate would be distributed.
00:07:15.380We would be deeply grateful if you remembered LifeSite News in your will.
00:07:24.060Thank you for your support, and may God bless you.
00:07:27.100I had this burning question for you because, as you know, tomorrow, a thousand homosexual activists calling themselves Catholic are going to descend upon the Vatican.
00:07:37.880They're going to march through the holy door at the Vatican's permission with the, you know, them listed on the Jubilee website.
00:07:44.580You also had this week Pope Leo meet with James Martin and with this sister Karam, who is actually more open about what she's doing than James Martin.
00:07:55.400But James Martin is the sine qua non of the homosexualist push in the Catholic Church.
00:08:02.520First of all, Simon, get your take generally on what's just gone on.
00:08:38.580This is probably the biggest Catholic story in the past year is that we have two martyrs who were killed in hatred of the faith on American soil.
00:09:02.240We wake up on Monday morning, John Henry, and we see Pope Leo XIV standing next to Father James Martin S.J., the number one trans advocate in the United States, maybe even the world, in the Catholic priesthood.
00:09:19.160I don't know about you, John Henry, but when I woke up and saw James Martin's tweet where he was bragging about meeting with the pope and he said that Pope Leo will continue the same openness that Pope Francis extended to the LGBTQ community, I literally felt like someone uppercutting me to the stomach.
00:09:39.820Because we've been trying to be patient, we've been trying to be charitable, we've been saying wait and see, don't rush, pray for him, pray for the charism of the papacy, and to wake up after all the trauma of last week of this trans massacre, and to see that the optics are so offensive.
00:09:59.600And you can't say, well, Pope Leo, he's from Taiwan, or he's from Argentina, he doesn't understand American Catholicism, he's from Chicago, he knows who James Martin is.
00:10:10.020And so it's just, for me, I mean, I still want to be charitable, I still, of course, I prayed a whole rosary for Pope Leo last night.
00:10:17.160I want to be kind, but it's becoming so difficult.
00:10:21.380Now, maybe Pope Leo's going to issue a correction and say, I never said that, James Martin, I'm not the same, I'm not going to promote what you're promoting, maybe we'll see that.
00:10:28.460But if we don't see that, this is another sign of, you know, we look into the future, and Pope Leo XIV is 69, he could live to 89, 20 years, 20 years.
00:10:41.700Is he going to continue lockstep with the legacy of Pope Francis?
00:10:46.080That's very difficult, I think, for Catholics to accept.
00:10:51.700And so, you know, and then add on the sister and all these things, it just raises a lot of questions.
00:10:56.640And then, you know, we're going to see the photos, like you just mentioned, the flags probably at St. Peter's.
00:11:02.500Is Pope Leo going to speak out against it, or is this the new normal?
00:11:06.520It's, again, for me personally, this is so hard to accept.
00:11:11.440And it's funny, because you couldn't see this happening the other way.
00:11:17.400You're not going to get Pope Leo standing with, you know, a right-wing religious figure.
00:12:53.080You know, I just hope if anyone in the Vatican is watching, like, do you realize what American Catholics have gone through in less than a week?
00:13:01.540And now you're going to be parading the trans flag and the trans advocates on TV and photos.
00:13:10.140Like, do you really, are you really that out of touch with your Catholics in America?
00:13:17.000Like, why are we not celebrating the martyrs and those suffering and those who are keeping their faith and enduring in such a horrible tragedy that was directly targeted against Catholics in a Catholic church, in a Catholic mass, against Catholic children?
00:13:31.540This is what we should be honoring this week.
00:13:33.840And instead, we have a pivot to James Martin grinning there so happy that he's going to be able to go on Twitter and post his photo and say, full continuity, rah, rah, rah.
00:13:47.720It really is a punch to the gut for me, and I think for probably millions of others.
00:13:53.500Taylor, thank you so much for being with us.
00:13:55.380I wish you the best with this book and may it bring America back to life.
00:13:59.760Yeah, if y'all want the book, you can go to christianpatriotbook.com or Amazon or wherever books are sold, and we're really pushing it hard.
00:14:06.480Hoping we're going to hit the New York Times bestseller.
00:14:08.320If we could push this into the public debate of conservatism, that Christ and Christianity needs to be at the center of what we're trying to achieve, I think it would be great for the nation and for the whole world.
