00:00:00.000 We're going to see the photos, like you just mentioned, the flags probably at St. Peter's.
00:00:05.100 Is Pope Leo going to speak out against it, or is this the new normal?
00:00:10.740 Hello, my friends. Welcome to this special episode of the John Henry Weston Show.
00:00:14.180 I've got none other than Taylor Marshall right here.
00:00:17.160 He's got a new book out, and I totally want to ask him about what's going down in the Vatican.
00:00:21.660 The whole wide world this week is reacting to James Martin posting a photo with Pope Leo.
00:00:29.020 And saying that basically Pope Leo endorses his agenda just like Francis did.
00:00:34.600 Absolutely staggering news.
00:00:36.780 It's staggering news also because we know Pope Leo met with another heretic Catholic, a sister Karam.
00:00:42.700 We also know that tomorrow in the Vatican, there's going to be a procession of some 1,000 homosexual activist Catholics through the Holy Doors at St. Peter's.
00:00:54.700 Just remind anyone of the prophecy about an abomination of desolation entering the holy place.
00:01:01.020 Does me.
00:01:02.280 But Taylor is here also to talk about his new book, Christian Patriot.
00:01:06.220 Stay tuned for this episode with Taylor Marshall.
00:01:09.020 We're going to begin, as we always do, with the sign of the cross.
00:01:11.140 In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
00:01:14.980 Amen.
00:01:15.560 Amen.
00:01:16.200 Taylor, so good to be with you.
00:01:17.660 Thank you for joining us.
00:01:18.540 I know your time is super limited.
00:01:20.520 So thank you so much.
00:01:21.500 Yeah, thanks for having me on.
00:01:23.040 You mentioned the new book, Christian Patriot.
00:01:24.940 And, you know, what we're trying to do here is a lot of conservatives, and this is not just in America.
00:01:29.280 It's in Canada, the West, Europe.
00:01:31.580 What are we conserving?
00:01:33.120 And I think we're at a point in not just the United States, but in the West, where what is being conservative has failed.
00:01:40.860 And you look at the next four years, eight years, 16 years, like, is it going to continue to be MAGA?
00:01:46.140 What are we trying to do here?
00:01:47.580 And we're seeing the destruction of marriage and the family.
00:01:49.960 And the reason we're seeing that is we're moving away from Christianity.
00:01:53.240 The further away you get from Christianity, the worse your society gets.
00:01:56.540 And that's marriage, divorce, birth rates, violence, economy.
00:02:01.240 It's really every single number.
00:02:03.260 And so this book provides a crash course in the historical, traditional, Christian, Catholic, political philosophy.
00:02:12.820 This goes back to the Church Fathers, Sacred Scripture, Augustine, Thomas Aquinas.
00:02:19.540 What do they teach us?
00:02:20.420 They've written thousands of pages on what the state should look like.
00:02:23.920 And most of us, you know, you went to high school and social studies, and they said, oh, separation of church and state and civil liberties and freedoms and your rights.
00:02:32.460 But we never really got the real, authentic Christian teaching.
00:02:36.240 So this book gives you the first half of it is what does the Catholic Church teach about politics and philosophy and the integration of church and state, which is promoting the common good.
00:02:49.340 It's a civilization built on the Beatitudes, the beautiful gospel message of Jesus Christ.
00:02:53.960 Who wouldn't want to live in that society?
00:02:56.000 That's the best society.
00:02:56.980 And then from there, I give 12 practical steps.
00:03:00.680 It's 12 ways to create one nation under God.
00:03:05.080 And it's 12 practical ways that every single person watching can begin to implement.
00:03:10.200 Personal conversion, defining and protecting marriage, defining and protecting the family, ending pornography, ending human trafficking, implementing just war.
00:03:22.080 So we are not just constantly sending money and bullets and tanks and jets all over the world.
00:03:27.460 We're actually following what Augustine and Aquinas said is a just war that makes the world a better place.
00:03:33.680 And even things like the economy, taxation, inflation, and, you know, Gen Z is waking up and they're wanting to get married and buy houses.
00:03:42.680 And it's a whole different ballgame now.
00:03:45.040 We as Christians, as patriots, our whole goal is to create a beautiful society, something better, and pass it on to the next generation.
00:03:53.460 And that's not happening in the West.
00:03:55.960 It's not happening in the conservative circles.
00:03:59.160 There needs to be a wake-up call.
00:04:02.480 And the book's called Christian Patriot because there's a lot of people talking about Christian nationalism.
00:04:06.460 And I wanted to put it virtue ethics.
00:04:09.320 Patriotism, according to Aquinas, is a virtue under justice.
00:04:12.460 And patriotism, says Aquinas, is love for patria.
00:04:16.400 Patria is your fatherland.
00:04:18.540 Patria.
00:04:19.440 Based on pater, like you and me, but ultimately on God the Father.
00:04:23.720 So it's a Trinitarian understanding of society.
00:04:25.960 So it's a beautiful vision.
00:04:27.420 And we haven't talked enough about it.
00:04:29.800 And so I think this is, in a way, sort of a manifesto for Christians, especially for Catholics, to get on the ball about what is our inheritance, our legacy in the political sphere.
00:04:41.840 So I loved your book, Infiltration, because it was so clear.
00:04:45.580 It was so easily understandable.
00:04:47.300 I know you've done that here, too.
00:04:48.840 So here are two hard questions, if you will, that we want a very quick summary for, but I know people can get in more in your book.
00:04:55.860 Number one, the whole idea of the death penalty.
00:04:58.300 So Catholics are supposed to be for the death penalty, by the faith, and I know it's taught something different somewhere else, but nonetheless, we are.
00:05:06.360 But how, in a state that's so unjust and so scary, because you look at the cops and they're beating down the good people, and you're thinking, oh, Lord, what do we do there?
00:05:14.880 And then secondly, the idea of freedom when, you know, people want to spread porn, and yet we should be banning porn, but people say, oh, we're in America, we have to have open and free expression.
00:05:28.540 You can do whatever you want.
00:05:29.260 The American idea of freedoms and liberties is not based on what Paul calls liberty in Christ or freedom from sin.
00:05:38.620 And we're given freedom in order to flourish as human persons.
00:05:43.280 That's the actual definition of it.
00:05:44.940 So if you're flooding the world with horrific, degenerate, pornographic images and videos, you are not promoting human flourishment.
00:05:54.460 And so it's totally opposed to natural law and totally opposed to the Christian religion and a Christian state.
00:05:59.700 A Christian nation would be 100 percent opposed to it, as well as being opposed to blasphemy.
00:06:04.760 There'd be blasphemy laws as well.
00:06:06.060 I'll talk about that in the book.
00:06:07.320 Now, the other one is the death penalty.
00:06:09.980 And, you know, there's about 36 popes who have very clearly articulated that the death penalty is righteous.
00:06:18.620 It's good.
00:06:19.340 It's not opposed to natural law.
00:06:20.920 It's certainly not opposed to the Old Testament.
00:06:22.840 And you have Jesus Christ saying to Pontius Pilate, you would not have this authority to kill me unless it was given to you from above.
00:06:29.220 That's Jesus Christ right there talking about the authority to implement the death penalty coming from above.
00:06:35.440 Paul talks about it in Romans as well.
00:06:37.800 It's really with Pope Francis that we have this insertion that the death penalty is inadmissible.
00:06:44.060 So that's a little bit inside baseball.
00:06:45.820 But I think if you look at the Christian tradition and in the Old Testament tradition and the natural law tradition, death penalty is admissible, not inadmissible.
00:06:56.060 For U.S. residents, creating a will has never been easier.
00:07:00.340 Thanks to My Legacy Will, an online platform free of charge, you can now create your own will and choose to include LifeSite News in it.

00:07:24.060 Thank you for your support, and may God bless you.
00:07:27.100 I had this burning question for you because, as you know, tomorrow, a thousand homosexual activists calling themselves Catholic are going to descend upon the Vatican.
00:07:37.880 They're going to march through the holy door at the Vatican's permission with the, you know, them listed on the Jubilee website.
00:07:44.580 You also had this week Pope Leo meet with James Martin and with this sister Karam, who is actually more open about what she's doing than James Martin.
00:07:55.400 But James Martin is the sine qua non of the homosexualist push in the Catholic Church.
00:08:02.520 First of all, Simon, get your take generally on what's just gone on.
00:08:05.920 Let's start with Minneapolis.
00:08:07.200 We have a young man who was raised Catholic, I've been told, in a traditional family.
00:08:12.020 I even was told they went to a traditional Latin mass.
00:08:14.980 The family had a divorce when this young man, the perpetrator, was 11 years old.
00:08:20.460 And this young man is confused about his gender.
00:08:24.020 He turned to violence.
00:08:25.440 He was very involved in drugs and marijuana.
00:08:28.420 And this led him down the downward path where I think if you look at his pictures and his sketches, he's talking to demons.
00:08:34.200 He's demonically influenced or possessed.
00:08:37.260 And so that's the context.
00:08:38.580 This is probably the biggest Catholic story in the past year is that we have two martyrs who were killed in hatred of the faith on American soil.
00:08:46.880 When was the last time that happened?
00:08:49.960 I mean, the Jesuit missionaries, North American martyrs.
00:08:53.220 I mean, we have two martyrs at the hands of the violence of a trans-confused young man.
00:08:59.360 We go through this trauma.
00:09:01.300 We're praying for everybody.
00:09:02.240 We wake up on Monday morning, John Henry, and we see Pope Leo XIV standing next to Father James Martin S.J., the number one trans advocate in the United States, maybe even the world, in the Catholic priesthood.
00:09:19.160 I don't know about you, John Henry, but when I woke up and saw James Martin's tweet where he was bragging about meeting with the pope and he said that Pope Leo will continue the same openness that Pope Francis extended to the LGBTQ community, I literally felt like someone uppercutting me to the stomach.
00:09:39.820 Because we've been trying to be patient, we've been trying to be charitable, we've been saying wait and see, don't rush, pray for him, pray for the charism of the papacy, and to wake up after all the trauma of last week of this trans massacre, and to see that the optics are so offensive.
00:09:59.600 And you can't say, well, Pope Leo, he's from Taiwan, or he's from Argentina, he doesn't understand American Catholicism, he's from Chicago, he knows who James Martin is.
00:10:10.020 And so it's just, for me, I mean, I still want to be charitable, I still, of course, I prayed a whole rosary for Pope Leo last night.
00:10:17.160 I want to be kind, but it's becoming so difficult.
00:10:21.380 Now, maybe Pope Leo's going to issue a correction and say, I never said that, James Martin, I'm not the same, I'm not going to promote what you're promoting, maybe we'll see that.
00:10:28.460 But if we don't see that, this is another sign of, you know, we look into the future, and Pope Leo XIV is 69, he could live to 89, 20 years, 20 years.
00:10:41.700 Is he going to continue lockstep with the legacy of Pope Francis?
00:10:46.080 That's very difficult, I think, for Catholics to accept.
00:10:51.700 And so, you know, and then add on the sister and all these things, it just raises a lot of questions.
00:10:56.640 And then, you know, we're going to see the photos, like you just mentioned, the flags probably at St. Peter's.
00:11:02.500 Is Pope Leo going to speak out against it, or is this the new normal?
00:11:06.520 It's, again, for me personally, this is so hard to accept.
00:11:11.440 And it's funny, because you couldn't see this happening the other way.
00:11:17.400 You're not going to get Pope Leo standing with, you know, a right-wing religious figure.
00:11:24.940 I try to convey the severity of this.
00:11:27.800 Imagine Pope Leo standing with that Islamic leader that promotes wife-beating.
00:11:33.580 It's not going to happen.
00:11:35.140 It's not going to happen.
00:11:36.160 Because that Muslim leader is known for promoting something that's heinous and horrible to Christians and Catholics everywhere.
00:11:44.880 Literal wife-beating.
00:11:46.620 And he justifies this, because that's what he's known for.
00:11:48.900 Well, isn't it true that homosexuality is one of the four sins that cry to heaven for vengeance?
00:11:56.620 So comparison such as that, whereas people might think, oh, it's extreme, is actually not all that extreme.
00:12:02.440 They scrubbed, allegedly, you know, the traditional pilgrimage that was led, I think, by the Society of St. Pius X.
00:12:08.560 Like, it just, this is kind of what we saw with Pope Francis.
00:12:13.100 This is my concern, right?
00:12:15.160 And it's heavy upon me.
00:12:17.320 You know, with Pope Francis, 2013, 14, 15.
00:12:21.560 By 16, everybody was like, whoa.
00:12:23.280 But, you know, 13, 14, we're like, well, if you translate it this way in Spanish.
00:12:28.500 But, again, we're, what, 100 days or so into the pontificate of Leo XIV.
00:12:35.980 And these signs are concerning.
00:12:41.320 And, yeah, I think we just need to pray.
00:12:44.200 I think we need to buckle up.
00:12:45.700 You know, it's time for prayer, fasting, rosaries, and the patience of the saints, you know.
00:12:51.640 And I want to go back to the optics.
00:12:53.080 You know, I just hope if anyone in the Vatican is watching, like, do you realize what American Catholics have gone through in less than a week?
00:13:01.540 And now you're going to be parading the trans flag and the trans advocates on TV and photos.
00:13:10.140 Like, do you really, are you really that out of touch with your Catholics in America?
00:13:17.000 Like, why are we not celebrating the martyrs and those suffering and those who are keeping their faith and enduring in such a horrible tragedy that was directly targeted against Catholics in a Catholic church, in a Catholic mass, against Catholic children?
00:13:31.540 This is what we should be honoring this week.
00:13:33.840 And instead, we have a pivot to James Martin grinning there so happy that he's going to be able to go on Twitter and post his photo and say, full continuity, rah, rah, rah.
00:13:47.720 It really is a punch to the gut for me, and I think for probably millions of others.
00:13:53.500 Taylor, thank you so much for being with us.
00:13:55.380 I wish you the best with this book and may it bring America back to life.
00:13:59.320 Thank you.
00:13:59.760 Yeah, if y'all want the book, you can go to christianpatriotbook.com or Amazon or wherever books are sold, and we're really pushing it hard.
00:14:06.480 Hoping we're going to hit the New York Times bestseller.
00:14:08.320 If we could push this into the public debate of conservatism, that Christ and Christianity needs to be at the center of what we're trying to achieve, I think it would be great for the nation and for the whole world.
00:14:18.960 Beautiful.
00:14:19.920 Taylor Marshall, thank you so much.
00:14:21.320 God bless you.
00:14:22.220 Thank you.
