Summary

Under Pope Francis, the Church did a 180 degree about-face on population control and contraception. It invited a transgender couple to the Vatican to pretend to be a man and a woman. It allowed for communion for divorced and remarried couples. And it opened the door to gay marriage.

00:00:31.900 for why we believe faithful Catholics actually have a duty before God
00:00:39.280 to resist the attempts by globalists, the Vatican, even the Pope himself,
00:00:46.180 to undermine defined dogma and moral questions,
00:00:49.800 which is really what we deal with at LifeSite News,
00:00:51.860 particularly around life and family issues.
00:00:54.900 So from the very first moment of his pontificate, there was scandal.
00:01:00.640 On the balcony with Pope Francis, with that tiny number of the College of Cardinals
00:01:05.960 selected by the Pope to accompany him onto the balcony at his proclamation,
00:01:10.940 was none other than Cardinal Daniels, a cardinal known to be dissident on abortion,
00:01:16.620 having encouraged the King of Belgium to sign a pro-abortion law.
00:01:19.680 He supported gay marriage and wore the rainbow stole.
00:01:24.420 And if that isn't bad enough, he is the only cardinal caught on tape encouraging a victim
00:01:29.400 of pedophile, incestuous sexual abuse not to report the abuse to authorities.
00:01:36.640 On day three, the Pope praised the heretic Cardinal Walter Casper for doing theology on the knees.
00:01:44.260 He banished Cardinals Burke, Serra, and Mila.
00:01:49.300 He banished the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate,
00:01:52.060 the order of priests who were responsible for offering more traditional Latin masses
00:01:56.020 than any other order apart from the Fraternity of St. Peter itself.
00:02:00.120 He publicly praised Italy's leading abortionist, Emma Bonino,
00:02:04.780 and met with her so much that this former illegal abortionist,
00:02:08.320 turned politician and champion of abortion,
00:02:10.680 now speaks at Catholic churches.
00:02:13.220 He endorsed the UN Sustainable Development Goals,
00:02:17.420 number 3.7 of which promotes abortion via the UN code words
00:02:21.540 of universal access to sexual and reproductive health care and services.
00:02:26.760 In 2015, he invited a transgender couple to the Vatican
00:02:30.360 and called the two females,
00:02:32.600 one of whom had mutilated herself to appear as a man,
00:02:35.540 married and happy.
00:02:37.060 He referred to the mutilated woman as
00:02:39.960 he that was her but is he.
00:02:43.800 That's surrendering the pronoun wars.
00:02:46.940 Under Pope Francis, the Church did a 180-degree about face on population control.
00:02:51.680 Whereas Pope John Paul II called the pro-life movement to fight depopulation at the United Nations,
00:02:57.500 Pope Francis made the biggest population control advocates like Jeffrey Sachs,
00:03:02.640 Paul Ehrlich, and Ban Ki-moon speakers at the Vatican itself.
00:03:06.540 On July 16, 2016,
00:03:08.680 he called cohabitation real marriage that had the grace of real marriage
00:03:16.360 when referring to some northern Argentina who felt they were monogamous in their sexual relations.
00:03:26.080 He committed what can only be called idolatry with the Pachamama scandal
00:03:31.880 and continued it in Canada recently
00:03:34.540 with the native shaman invoking one of the four directions
00:03:38.740 to open the sacred circle of spirits to join them there
00:03:43.580 while Pope Francis and the attending cardinals
00:03:46.700 all participated in the pagan ceremony
00:03:49.020 with eyes closed and hands held reverently on their hearts.
00:03:53.640 Pope Francis was asked about avoiding pregnancy
00:03:59.880 in areas where Zika virus was prevalent.
00:04:04.520 And he noted that contraception was not an absolute evil.
00:04:09.280 Asked for clarification,
00:04:10.660 the Vatican confirmed that Pope Francis was approving
00:04:12.860 the use of contraceptives and condoms in grave cases.
00:04:16.040 And in case that wasn't clear enough,
00:04:19.060 the Pope has now permitted the so-called Pontifical Academy for Life
00:04:22.500 to openly suggest a change to the Church's perennial teaching against contraception.
00:04:30.560 But you know, some people might say
00:04:32.580 that these are not official documents of the Church.
00:04:37.720 They don't actually represent anything magisterial
00:04:41.160 and they can be ignored.
00:04:42.920 Well, not so fast.
00:04:43.780 First, there is Amoris Laetitia.
00:04:47.220 And even when some tried to do mental gymnastics
00:04:50.500 to interpret Amoris Laetitia in an Orthodox fashion,
00:04:54.620 Pope Francis made the heretical interpretation
00:04:57.240 allowing for communion for divorced and remarried couples
00:05:00.660 the official interpretation.
00:05:03.800 And then, in a rather little-known passage
00:05:06.800 in his 2018 exhortation called Gaudete et Exultate,
00:05:11.220 Pope Francis teaches the opposite.
00:05:13.780 of what Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI taught
00:05:16.800 regarding the preeminence of abortion
00:05:19.000 as an issue of moral concern.
00:05:21.760 Speaking of immigration and abortion,
00:05:25.700 but of immigration, he said,
00:05:28.680 and I quote, this is a quote from the exhortation,
00:05:31.500 Gaudete et Exultate,
00:05:34.180 some Catholics consider it a secondary issue
00:05:37.960 compared to the grave bioethical questions.
00:05:41.680 He continued,
00:05:42.900 that a politician looking for votes
00:05:44.760 might say such a thing is understandable,
00:05:46.700 but not a Christian.
00:05:48.840 He criticized those who relativize these issues
00:05:52.700 as if there are other more important matters
00:05:56.300 or the only thing that counts
00:05:58.480 is the one particular ethical issue
00:06:01.500 or cause that they themselves defend.
00:06:06.040 An absolute direct attack on pro-life Catholics.
00:06:11.080 And in the latest apostolic letter,
00:06:15.060 Desiderio, Desideravi,
00:06:16.800 that addresses Holy Communion,
00:06:18.300 the Pope said that all that was needed
00:06:21.160 for the reception of Holy Communion is faith.
00:06:24.420 That document was released on June 29th,
00:06:28.300 the very day on which
00:06:30.320 the most pro-abortion U.S. so-called Catholic politician
00:06:34.580 in history, Nancy Pelosi,
00:06:36.000 came to the Vatican
00:06:37.200 and visited with Pope Francis
00:06:39.680 and received communion at a papal mass.
00:06:44.020 This must be seen against the background
00:06:46.660 of Pelosi's bishop, Archbishop Corleone,
00:06:50.840 publicly issuing a decree
00:06:53.380 noting that she must be denied Holy Communion
00:06:57.660 after a decade
00:06:59.540 of trying to convince her to amend her ways.
00:07:02.740 The Pope openly bashed
00:07:06.120 Pelosi's Archbishop, Salvatore Corleone,
00:07:09.320 as lacking a pastoral nature.
00:07:16.180 So just recently,
00:07:17.140 Tyler, Texas Bishop Joseph Strickland,
00:07:19.400 Kazakhstan Auxiliary Bishop Athanasius Schneider,
00:07:22.720 Dutch Bishop Robert Mutzertz,
00:07:25.420 and retired Texas Bishop Rene Grissida
00:07:27.800 have issued a document
00:07:31.320 on the apostolic letter
00:07:32.920 citing it for,
00:07:34.840 and I quote,
00:07:35.520 contradicting the faith
00:07:36.740 and quoting
00:07:38.200 the Catechism of the Council of Trent,
00:07:40.380 which calls the notion
00:07:41.520 put forward by Pope Francis
00:07:43.020 in his letter,
00:07:44.460 heresy.
00:07:46.620 Shall we not then
00:07:48.020 join with these heroic bishops
00:07:49.760 and the many learned priests,
00:07:51.720 religious and laity
00:07:52.460 who have begun
00:07:53.320 to resist Pope Francis?
00:07:54.700 In truth,
00:07:57.400 if we care about the faith,
00:07:59.440 if we care about the faith
00:08:00.680 of our children,
00:08:01.700 and truly if we care about
00:08:03.340 the soul of Pope Francis,
00:08:04.800 we must resist.
