00:00:21.220 and what to do about it.

00:00:35.580 This episode is brought to you by Armored Haven, full-scale security for any size business.
00:00:56.600 in a recent episode of the king's hall podcast entitled the girl on the train
00:01:08.220 we talked about the tragic and brutal murder of irina zaruska in charlotte uh a few days after
00:01:15.240 that episode released we cut and released this short clip let's say that somebody was coming
00:01:20.580 into our church and they're black and would they be eligible for membership in our church yes they
00:01:25.160 of course they would. They'd be eligible for membership in our church. But would they be
00:01:30.080 permitted to participate in, embody, and practice what I would call black culture generally in our
00:01:36.300 church? The answer is absolutely not. Why? Because the things, the characteristics that mark black
00:01:42.400 culture as a generalization in the same way Paul's talking about Cretans on Crete, they are evil,
00:01:48.360 murderous, violent, bestial people. They steal, they kill, they destroy. They are sinful to the
00:01:54.340 core they have besetting sins that are like fatherlessness sexual immorality they molest
00:02:00.800 children at a high rate all of any any criminal statistic that you could look at almost pretty
00:02:05.700 much without exception they excel at them black culture it's even interesting i mentioned it
00:02:11.400 before but like the black guy on tiktok he was saying he's like y'all y'all crazy like you're
00:02:17.060 talking about this person like it's mental health he said that ain't no mental health that's a demon
00:02:21.100 yeah so i mean a lot of people are seeing that like this this behavior is demonic to walk up
00:02:26.560 to a white girl either but yeah and and to cut her throat because she's white because she's white
00:02:31.040 and be like you know we got that white girl we got that white girl and when you think about it
00:02:34.060 you look at that culture and you say what are the besetting sins and characteristics of it then you
00:02:37.540 say could somebody come in a lawful church membership embodying that culture no they have
00:02:41.340 to self-consciously repudiate that culture now for some reason that clip proved to be controversial
00:02:46.800 on the internet. It's been shared over a thousand times. It's been seen by, I think, over a million
00:02:51.600 people at this point. And there was a lot of pushback, a lot of questions, a lot of controversy
00:02:57.140 from friends, enemies, acquaintances, and strangers. And so in this episode of the King's Hall, we
00:03:02.700 decided we'd sit down and we'd talk a little bit more about the clip, about the episode, some of
00:03:07.260 the controversy, try to answer some of the pushback that we got from it, and overall, just do our
00:03:13.560 thing. And remember, the Kings Hall podcast exists to make self-ruled men who rule well and win the

00:06:02.120 Well, welcome to this episode of the King's Hall Podcast.
00:06:04.980 I'm one of your hosts, Eric Kahn, also known as Prison Mike, and joined today by Brian
00:06:10.540 Sovay.
00:06:11.940 Who's ever called you Prison Mike?
00:06:13.920 I did just before the show started.
00:06:17.120 Yeah.
00:06:17.640 All right.
00:06:17.860 It's good to be here, Eric.
00:06:18.920 How are you doing today?
00:06:19.700 I'm doing great.
00:06:20.560 You're looking sharp.
00:06:21.320 Thank you. Thank you. Some call you a matador. Okay. If you get the reference, I accept. It is a deep cut. Yeah. Is it? Stephen Miller. Is it that deep? Is it that deep? It is. We are living in one of the most entertaining timelines. I have to say. Yeah, we really are. Brian, you mentioned in the cold open, one of the things that shockingly will cause controversy in a nation like ours is stating true things about reality.
00:06:50.000 That is true.
00:06:51.480 We'll get into it.
00:06:52.560 We'll get into the clip.
00:06:53.460 A couple things that I noticed.
00:06:54.820 Number one, people cannot handle generalities.
00:06:57.580 No.
00:06:58.800 People cannot think clearly.
00:07:00.740 No.
00:07:01.160 And where I actually want to start with this is how much of this do you think is because evangelicals in America have been catechized by pastors to just think in sort of squishy categories, particularly about sex, race, et cetera?
00:07:16.100 I was told, by the way.
00:07:17.700 Go on.
00:07:18.240 Years ago, this is like the OOs, Tabithian Wabile, a.k.a. Ron Burns, was a fan of the King's Hall.
00:07:26.360 It was like, yeah, big fan of the King's Hall.
00:07:28.000 Huge fan.
00:07:28.780 Yeah.
00:07:29.700 But together for the gospel, when we had that going on, it was like, hey, there's only one race.
00:07:35.660 There's no distinctions.
00:07:37.340 Yeah, the human race, man.
00:07:38.960 And at the time, I remember thinking like, oh, that sounds really loving.
00:07:42.200 All right.
00:07:42.820 but but then those same people started writing books where they were like actually um there are
00:07:49.740 a couple races and basically everything bad that's ever happened to me is because one of those races
00:07:55.640 the whiteys wouldn't leave us alone and then you're like how the tables have turned what is
00:08:01.780 interesting because we jump into the clip um and you you're basically having a bunch of pushback
00:08:06.180 from a lot of people yeah uh lecrae being one of them look what like the drink yeah la croix
00:08:11.920 The fizzy drink?
00:08:13.260 Yeah, it's like the water where if you take a Jolly Rancher and you just dip it in.
00:08:16.620 Yeah.
00:08:16.980 That's the flavor.
00:08:17.740 If you take some sparkling water and you go next to it and you just whisper, pineapple next to it.
00:08:23.720 Yes.
00:08:24.440 So those people were mad at us?
00:08:27.620 Slightly different.
00:08:28.500 The La Croix people?
00:08:29.660 I don't know La Croix.
00:08:30.320 The La Croix, not the La Croix people.
00:08:32.860 No, they're like French-Canadian.
00:08:33.980 We didn't lose the French-Canadians.
00:08:36.200 We didn't.
00:08:36.780 We lost the gay water people?
00:08:38.900 Well, no.
00:08:39.460 I thought some other stuff would have done that earlier.
00:08:41.020 We lost the black rapper.
00:08:44.840 They come in a black rapper?
00:08:46.560 No, no.
00:08:47.620 I'm not.
00:08:48.560 You got to make yourself clear.
00:08:50.220 Lecrae.
00:08:51.220 Oh, you're talking about the guy who used to pretend to be a Christian.
00:08:55.380 Yes.
00:08:55.980 And he would release like all the Christian ghetto music.
00:08:58.780 Yes.
00:08:59.420 So as we jump into all of that, I guess just set the scene.
00:09:03.220 What's the problem with the messaging from the church in the last, I don't know, two decades especially, but it goes back further.
00:09:09.040 But in that time frame.
00:09:10.580 Yeah, I mean, we've been trained not to see certain things. Well, we've been trained that when we see certain things, we're not allowed to say them out loud. You're allowed to like privately entertain the thoughts so long as by the time they come out of your mouth, you filter them through the proper euphemisms.
00:09:26.300 That's one of the things that I discovered and I kind of pushed back on quite a bit in the response to the clip and the episode was that people would be totally fine agreeing with all of the data and the facts that we talked about.
00:09:37.600 So long as we call it some euphemism, as long as we say that it's ghetto culture even or, you know, some other euphemism instead of saying, generally speaking, they're, you know, black culture in America is like this.
00:09:53.220 it's representative of this. If you use some other euphemism, they're fine with that. And that
00:09:59.080 really is a, it's a defect in thinking and it demonstrates, you know, something we've talked
00:10:04.000 about many times before, blasphemy laws that are guarding a false God. It's one of the communist
00:10:10.240 playbooks where, you know, you're not allowed to talk about the, you know, why a communist in
00:10:15.800 Soviet Russia wasn't allowed to have this thought and say it out loud. Why is it that if communism
00:10:21.520 is so great um we are poor and america is not why is it if communism is so great that we actually
00:10:30.460 have television shows where we we put up on the tv the grain harvest because apparently that's
00:10:35.860 such a huge accomplishment that it's like worthy of tv but in america they just go to the store
00:10:41.380 and there's there's bread on the shelves they didn't have to make a big tv special why is you
00:10:46.700 You weren't allowed to notice and say aloud certain truths because those – at the center, there was a big lie that was being defended by a whole guard of smaller lies and euphemisms, and I think that's the sort of thing that's operating in our culture today.
00:11:02.360 Yeah, and I think the church has, for the most part, supported the civil rights movement, which was egalitarian and Marxist.
00:11:09.040 It is interesting because in the pushback that we got, there were a lot of people who were like, you can't talk about black culture that way, black people that way.
00:11:22.100 Let me tell you how horrible white people are.
00:11:25.360 And I was like, wait, wait, wait.
00:11:27.420 Yeah, I tweeted about this.
00:11:28.580 one of the blasphemy laws is thou shalt not talk about black sins unless you first talk about 12
00:11:33.640 white sins why all the black sins are the government's fault or you know fatherlessness
00:11:38.260 is fault and all these things and to which i always respond like wait how do you get a lot
00:11:42.420 of fatherlessness in a culture could it be that a culture is suffused with sexual sin and the lack
00:11:47.340 of taking responsibility for yourself might that result in a in a the sort of society where i don't
00:11:52.680 know 60 to 70 percent of households were single parent like the black community in america today
00:11:57.820 but it's not actually an excuse you're just actually pointing at another pattern of sin
00:12:02.240 that's rampant in a culture but this becomes part of it uh we talked about this before but
00:12:06.660 like in galatians when paul is speaking about um you know there is no longer you know jew or
00:12:12.500 gentile male or female on the sexual side we've had egalitarianism erode distinction in men and
00:12:18.680 women yeah but now we're pushing into another area and we're finding there's there's a lot of
00:12:24.160 hostility, simply in saying that races are different. Yeah. Like that people groups are
00:12:30.200 different. This seems obvious. Yeah. Someone, there was a black gentleman who responded to my,
00:12:39.340 I had a follow-up tweet. It was something like theology 101. Not all cultures are equal. Some
00:12:44.840 cultures are more sinful or worse than other cultures. Right. And I would say this is theology
00:12:49.420 101, because it's a subset of homardiology, which is the doctrine of sin, that sin does not work
00:12:55.460 itself out equally in all peoples and populations. Total depravity means that sin has affected every
00:13:00.680 part of what it means to be human, not that people are as evil as they possibly could be in every
00:13:05.100 instance. And so you have some cultures, individuals, peoples, families that are less
00:13:10.580 sinful in some area than another. And so this guy said, this is hogwash. He's like, this is ridiculous.
00:13:15.760 And my response to him, he's actually yet to answer the question, which is shocking. I said, so do you think that America, slave owning America was equally righteous with post slave owning America? Did we make moral progress? Because if not, or if so, then you have to say that that one people was morally superior to another people. And of course, they won't answer the question because it's such a patently obvious statement.
00:13:44.320 Even Joel Berry.
00:13:46.260 Known guy who agrees with everything I've ever said.
00:13:48.240 This was an hour before recording.
00:13:49.900 He said some cultures are better than others.
00:13:52.600 Yeah.
00:13:53.160 Doug Wilson in a few years ago,
00:13:55.020 I have a couple of screenshots from an article
00:13:56.840 where he's making virtually identical points
00:13:58.680 to what I did in the clip.
00:14:00.620 You see, I have a 2017 clip of Ben Shapiro.
00:14:03.500 He's in a hostile environment
00:14:04.940 where there's like some black people. 0.98
00:14:06.980 There's a black lady. 0.99
00:14:07.820 There's kind of a mixed audience.
00:14:09.540 And a lot of them are liberal.
00:14:10.880 They don't like him.
00:14:11.500 and he they're all heckling him and because he said something about black culture and they're
00:14:17.740 all heckling him and so he just says no no no like you tell me why why why are the why is
00:14:22.860 fatherlessness so rampant you you tell me why youth homicide it what you know juvenile blacks
00:14:28.800 to make up 16 percent of the population um murder account for 52 percent of the murders you tell me
00:14:34.840 why and he goes through all these things explain to me why black kids are shooting each other in
00:14:38.900 rates significantly higher than whites are shooting each other. Explain to me why 13% of
00:14:43.020 the population is responsible for 50% of the murder. Explain to me why the number of black kids
00:14:48.680 in prison, not for innocent reasons, not for walking down the street and getting pulled into
00:14:52.560 a prison, is so high. If it has nothing to do with culture, explain to me why the single motherhood
00:14:57.340 rate in the black community jumped from 20% to 70% in the same course of time that the civil
00:15:02.180 rights movement has made such tremendous strides. Is America more racist now than it was in 1960?
00:15:06.880 And if it is, please explain to me how that happened.
00:15:09.620 And it's basically the same point that I was making.
00:15:11.820 And yet a lot of people who would say like, wow, these, you know, Ogden guys are such extremists would, you know, be great.
00:15:19.440 Charlie Kirk, great Daily Wire supporters, great.
00:15:22.320 A lot of this stuff.
00:15:23.460 So the more money we've spent on black America, the less fathers we have because black women divorced black men and married the government.
00:15:32.480 And do you think that's a problem inherent to black people?
00:15:35.340 No, it's not.
00:15:35.880 is happening now in white communities and hispanic communities it's just the worst in black america
00:15:40.660 and why do you think that is why why is it the worst in black america there's also a cultural
00:15:45.060 problem there is okay so it's just it's just that black people are no no let me ask you a question
00:15:49.540 the average music that a black person in compton is listening to is it about contemplating the good
00:15:55.340 the true and the beautiful or is it about being a gangbanger and trying to get as much money and
00:16:00.020 sleep with as many girls as you can i would actually like to think that's a i would be
00:16:04.880 offended by that do you think the average black kid in compton is listening to beethoven or some
00:16:10.200 sort of gangster rap music that glorifies gangster culture silly question rap wasn't created to
00:16:17.120 glorify gangster culture so even though there is okay i mean you're not answering you're dodging
00:16:20.820 the question because i'm sure they're listening to rap okay so you think rap music makes them
00:16:25.200 do you think the cultural expectation in black america is that you stay with the woman that you
00:16:30.260 impregnate.
00:17:00.260 grow your company, we'd love to partner with you. Email us at advertising at newchristendompress.com.
00:17:12.780 Within black communities? I can't speak on that. Okay. The answer is no, it's not. It's not
00:17:17.220 expected. Okay. And do you think that- Hold on. In white Anglo-Saxon Protestant communities,
00:17:22.200 it's a fact. Hold on. In upper middle class white communities- Upper middle class. Say that part
00:17:26.920 louder yeah upper middle class white anglo-saxon protestant communities if you impregnate a woman
00:17:31.760 you are looked down upon and we do not think highly of you if you abandon the woman that
00:17:36.560 you impregnate that's a cultural difference has nothing to do with money has nothing to do with
00:17:41.080 anything except norms and the norms that have infected black america are destroying it from
00:17:46.480 within we need more fathers not less we need more dads around and less drag queen story hour we need
00:17:53.100 more we need more young blacks to to be able to look up to role models that are are not leaving
00:18:02.900 all the time and are not just saying hey i'm pregnant and hurt so be it it's a toxin and if
00:18:08.060 we don't address that as the root cause oh it's white supremacy it's injustice it's economics
00:18:12.500 we're dancing around the core of the issue these men made virtually identical points at various
00:18:17.800 points in their media uh forays so it's but nobody said people have to be consistent nobody
00:18:28.460 said that yeah uh i do want to get into the lecrae comment okay and it was actually uh last night we
00:18:35.120 were having an exchange with lecrae for people who don't know uh lecrae was a black rapper who
00:18:41.600 purported to be a christian really pushed on the reform young young wrestles and reform crowd i
00:18:47.620 think by like john piper he was at like passion conferences yeah i remember like john piper
00:18:52.180 having him at his church and it was like see we it was basically the like see we like black people
00:18:56.740 too yeah hip-hop can be redeemed um so anyway lecrae has since gone like like can i say this
00:19:05.920 hella woke is that a thing full full mecca woke yeah like yeah he's maxing out on woke oh yeah
00:19:13.380 Absolutely.
00:19:14.100 Yeah, so that's kind of the direction he's gone.
00:19:16.640 Woke and worldly.
00:19:17.740 Woke and worldly.
00:19:18.720 I don't even, I would not call him a Christian at this point based on some of the things that he said.
00:19:23.840 It's terrible.
00:19:25.580 So Lecrae commented, and this is what he said in response to the video last night.
00:19:30.800 He said, calling black culture debauchery, ignorance, and violence is not only false, it's lazy.
00:19:37.880 Black culture has given the world spiritual depth through the black church.
00:19:41.900 Artistic brilliance through jazz
00:19:44.760 Gospel, hip-hop, R&B
00:19:47.600 I just can't
00:19:51.420 Intellectual giants like W.E.B. Du Bois
00:19:54.460 And Tony Morrison
00:19:55.920 Tony Morrison
00:19:59.280 And movements that shape democracy
00:20:02.760 Like the civil rights movement
00:20:05.100 Every culture has shadows
00:20:07.260 But to reduce ours to its stereotypes
00:20:09.300 While ignoring the beauty
00:20:10.780 the resilience and the contributions is ignorance itself do yourself a favor and read
00:20:18.200 the miseducation of the negro brilliant read by carter g woodson um so anyway i had to screenshot
00:20:26.060 and post that because after the exchange mr lecrae yeah he deleted it deleted all his comments you
00:20:33.000 know and here here's the thing irina wasn't thinking to herself but i'm glad they gave us
00:20:38.940 jazz music as she bled to death on the train no she wasn't thinking herself but there were so many
00:20:45.580 good positive cultural contributions and here's the reality this is why like people will dismiss
00:20:52.460 anyone who's citing crime statistics oh here are those you know white conservatives citing crime
00:20:57.240 statistics again and they they try to dismiss you like that because there's no answer to it
00:21:01.440 other than to take responsibility which when you have 12 point the 2019 statistics 12.2 percent of
00:21:08.060 the population is black committing well over 50% of the homicides in America, over 50% of the
00:21:15.020 homicides accounted for by 12% of the population. You look at that and you tell me you can't make
00:21:20.440 a generalization and say that culture, black culture, generally speaking, has a violence
00:21:27.520 and murder problem. Then you can't make any generalization. Then just generalizations are
00:21:33.680 out the door altogether. Well, this goes back to just the same thing with like what we would
00:21:37.740 have about like sexuality right where people say what about ben carson and you're like what about
00:21:43.460 him this is the meme where the guy's like you know the average height of a woman is five four
00:21:48.980 and the woman says but i'm five six though yeah or as someone let's let's turn it around um let's
00:21:55.000 say that the adl was running um their their guerrillionth um documentary about the holocaust
00:22:00.300 and someone said but joseph goebbels was a great family man
00:22:04.100 his children loved him and defended him to their death how would they receive that would that
00:22:13.600 discount the argument in their view and the point is like yeah ben car there there are absolutely
00:22:18.980 great godly black men and black american men and women who have lived of course there are
00:22:25.440 that's not the point that we're making the point that we're making isn't that every individual
00:22:30.720 black person who's ever lived is described by the generalism i made just like paul's point in titus
00:22:35.500 112 wasn't that every single individual cretin ever was an evil beast and a glutton and a liar
00:22:40.140 he followed it up by saying and go around the island of crete this hundred mile long island
00:22:45.000 and appoint elders who meet these qualifications so it's like general is a it's the most basic
00:22:51.340 logical category well it's interesting too because and a few people pointed this out we're obviously
00:22:57.260 well aware of it but paul didn't even say cretin culture is bad he said cretins he said cretins
00:23:03.680 um i do want to talk about this lecrae said black culture has given the world spiritual depth
00:23:10.780 and he starts with the black church okay so like let's just look at the facts the black church
00:23:16.820 uh we talked about this in the episode the black church has been terrible they have provided all
00:23:24.480 as a whole and i'm not saying there's not like again good black theologians votie bacham's one
00:23:29.680 obviously but he would be the first to tell you liberation theology civil rights movement stuff
00:23:35.620 virgil walker any of these guys would say yeah the black church is not spiritually is not giving
00:23:42.000 us a great treasure of spiritual depth no it's giving us a great treasure of spiritual heresy
00:23:46.520 trinitarian heresies uh you know false views of christ yeah it's given us a lot of i mean
00:23:53.200 that you can understand just, um, well over 70% of American blacks, I think actually might be
00:24:01.700 higher than that voted for Kamala Harris in 2024. Yeah. It's, it's, it's by far in a way you kind
00:24:07.200 of have Jews, uh, who are up there, uh, in terms of largest Democrat voting constituency, but then
00:24:13.960 the other one would be, uh, black people. And that's after a significant swing towards Trump
00:24:18.440 correct since 2016 so we're when you look at that and then you say what percentage of those voters
00:24:25.700 self-identify as christian probably some significant percentage do identify as christian
00:24:32.200 and yet black churches are often bastions of leftist political theology leftist political
00:24:37.660 theory liberation theology a lot of this bastardized uh doctrine that that basically just
00:24:44.420 justifies um wicked political ideology in a post-hoc fashion theologically so yeah it's
00:24:53.820 interesting i would i would disagree with lecrae on that one um it's interesting that in you know
00:24:59.020 and then he mentions artistic brilliance through jazz we'll give him jazz because steven steven
00:25:03.360 wolf likes jazz so can i say something about jazz yeah there's some really great jazz music out
00:25:09.100 there with some really great, absolute creative, musically brilliant jazz music. But there's also
00:25:14.880 a thread in jazz music that is deconstructive and leftist to the core. Think of like atonal jazz
00:25:22.620 music where like they developed systems in certain wings of jazz music to intentionally in the
00:25:28.760 introduction of a song, make it impossible to identify a key. So the song isn't in any key.
00:25:34.280 it's most people would listen to it and it would just sound like noise it would sound absolutely
00:25:39.600 terrible right one of the reasons for that is that some wings of jazz music are just reflections of
00:25:47.680 things you see in multiple disciplines of art which is just marxist communist deconstructing
00:25:53.540 western thought deconstructing logic and order deconstructing truth goodness and beauty it's
00:25:59.120 the same thing you see in modern art where it's like, this is just, it's not anything. It's just
00:26:04.180 splashes of color. It's supposed to unsettle you. Um, so even jazz music can be, some jazz music
00:26:11.460 can be put forward as an example of an assault against order and the assertion of chaos where
00:26:17.560 good music is even good music that has dissonance in it. Like good jazz can have dissonance in it
00:26:23.380 or different features that make it sound kind of interesting or introduce tension that is later
00:26:28.760 resolved in a melody uh these things can be complex statements about like a story where
00:26:35.340 evil is introduced and it creates dissonance and it's resolved in right victory but some wings of
00:26:41.180 jazz music are all dissonance they're all chaos that's actually a reflection yet another reflection
00:26:48.260 of the philosophical pushback against order in certain wings of this movement yeah i think that's
00:26:57.260 a good point uh he put hip-hop on here as a form of artistic brilliance uh no simply no um i think
00:27:06.800 a lot of people have addressed this it's also borne fruit i think out in even lecrae's story
00:27:12.720 where like we were told no you can have like christian hip-hop it's like really cool it's
00:27:16.480 really good and then you watch the direction of lecrae himself and and obviously really terrible
00:27:22.760 One of the other things I think is interesting, though, again, this is just a general principle on dealing with generalities.
00:27:30.040 But imagine if Paul said what he said about the Cretans in Titus 1.12.
00:27:35.580 And then somebody said, yeah, but they make really good hummus.
00:27:38.360 You shouldn't say all those bad things about them.
00:27:42.660 But we see this all the time.
00:27:44.340 I know.
00:27:44.600 With the Jewish community, it's like any time you offer a critique about certain things that are bad,
00:27:49.620 Like the fact that they vote for leftists, they fund leftist movements.
00:27:53.800 Wildly disproportionately influential for leftists as a population, as a percentage of the population.
00:27:57.900 Huge in things like pornography.
00:27:59.660 They own the porn industry.
00:28:00.820 Porn industry, Hollywood industry.
00:28:01.360 You point all that and then the first person will say, yeah, but there was a Jewish brain surgeon.
00:28:07.980 And you just want to go, and?
00:28:10.380 And how does that disprove anything about the generality?
00:28:13.680 There will be a day when people learn what per capita means.
00:28:16.880 But today is not this day.
00:28:18.300 but not this day this day we will obfuscate using vapid statistical errors
00:28:25.260 per capita like gabriel hughes the what guy he responded to me and i just said someday people
00:28:32.280 will learn what per capita means because he was just like white people commit crimes to all these
00:28:37.060 crimes too like i know i know that's why i said that 12 percent commits over 50 percent and said
00:28:45.760 that they were disproportionate, that in
00:28:47.780 all these violent crime statistics, they excel
00:28:49.900 and exceed per capita all these other people
00:28:51.820 groups. We're making a generalism about
00:28:53.820 a people group. Have you noticed, though,
00:28:55.940 with
00:28:56.320 when you use a generality, because
00:28:59.800 everybody, without even knowing it, like
00:29:01.560 I'm sure Pastor Hughes, he's not saying
00:29:03.660 like, if you asked him, he wouldn't say
00:29:05.580 I'm an egalitarian. No, he would
00:29:07.680 actually deny that. But
00:29:09.440 when you say things like,
00:29:11.720 well, white people do just as many bad
00:29:13.600 things as black people,
00:29:15.760 And you're like, what is the impulse?
00:29:18.500 The impulse is to say we're all the same.
00:29:20.980 Yeah, and the reality is on the data we cited in the episode, we are not the same.
00:29:27.320 So the question is why?
00:29:29.000 Why and what should we do about it?
00:29:31.140 Why and what should we do about it?
00:29:32.280 If you have 10 kids in your household and you notice that two of them are receiving 80% of the spankings, what should you do?
00:29:41.480 Should you have some blanket punishment on all 10 and say, well, here's what we're going to do.
00:29:45.400 We're just going to, everybody gets dessert taken away this week.
00:29:48.500 No, you should go and say to those two, you're a problem.
00:29:53.240 I've done this many times in my household.
00:29:55.720 Hey, you have what's called a theft problem.
00:29:58.600 I sat one of my young, young guys down this week, one of my little boys, and he loves to steal.
00:30:05.140 Nobody steals better than him.
00:30:07.000 Actually, he's really incompetent at stealing.
00:30:08.760 He gets caught every time.
00:30:09.940 So I sit him down and say, you know, hey, buddy, what do you call someone who steals a lot?
00:30:14.980 Well, I don't know.
00:30:16.080 What do you call him?
00:30:18.140 A thief.
00:30:19.660 He pronounced it T-H-I-E-T-H.
00:30:22.560 A thief.
00:30:23.620 It's like, yeah, they're a thief, buddy.
00:30:25.040 Do you want to be a thief?
00:30:27.080 No.
00:30:27.980 Well, you are a thief right now.
00:30:30.740 So would it have helped him if he had said, but I've done lots of other good things too.
00:30:35.700 Remember that time that I obeyed all the way right away with a happy heart?
00:30:38.560 Yeah, buddy, that was great.
00:30:39.740 We're talking about the time that you stole 50 times this week from everybody around you.
00:30:44.100 Yeah. Well, you know, my sister's stolen. It's the same tactics of the toddler because it's
00:30:50.720 intellectually toddler level, these kinds of responses. They're not honest. Another one that
00:30:55.760 I saw over and over was, you know, all of these, especially academics, but also pastors very,
00:31:00.460 you know, in their vaunted MDivs and they're like, you know, these Ogden guys, they're really poor
00:31:04.380 exegetes. And they were specifically in both cases. I remember one, an Orthodox guy and one,
00:31:09.680 a Presbyterian guy who were both claiming we're really bad at exegesis. So then you looked at
00:31:14.080 their exegesis of Titus 1.12, which they were objecting to. One of them made the point that
00:31:19.560 there is a psalm that typologically looks forward to the salvation of people like the Cretans who
00:31:25.100 were, you know, from Philistia. And the point was that, yes, salvation was going to come even to the
00:31:30.160 Cretans. My favorite point, though, is when somebody's like, you didn't do the exegesis.
00:31:35.640 Let me begin by also not doing the exegesis. I'm going to give you the biblical historical
00:31:40.600 context of a psalm. And you're like, right. I agree with that typological connection between
00:31:46.320 those two passages, which is why the apostle Paul was sending Titus to be a bishop, to go
00:31:50.360 establish churches across Crete and raise up elders. All the things we said in the episode,
00:31:53.700 of course. And we're very glad that salvation came to that culture. Do you know what one of
00:31:56.980 the first steps in bringing salvation to that culture was? Telling them that they were really
00:32:01.400 wicked and bad and that they needed to repent. It is interesting to your point, because in Titus
00:32:06.660 112, Paul says what he says about the Cretans. But there's a therefore, a little bit of exegesis
00:32:13.400 for our ARP brothers. I'm not sure if we're going to be able to perform this exegesis,
00:32:18.260 but go ahead. I'm going to let you try. Training wheels. Let's see if you're capable.
00:32:22.800 But in the next verse, it is crazy because he says, therefore rebuke them sharply.
00:32:26.700 That they may be sound in the faith. So part of the reason you need to
00:32:29.740 clearly identify the sins of a people is so that you can rebuke them so that they can repent.
00:32:35.420 Yeah. And so it's actually a loving, gracious thing to say, Hey guys, we have a theft, murder,
00:32:41.800 violence, you know, bestial sexuality problem. We should stop doing that. We need to address
00:32:47.240 that head on. Any pastor would be, he would be required to do that. Of course. Like in our church,
00:32:52.620 which is largely white, not entirely white, but largely white. We're in Utah. Um, the 99% of the
00:32:58.780 time, what we're doing, the activity we're doing, what I'm doing from the pulpit, what we're doing
00:33:01.720 and counseling is identifying the sins common to our people, addressing them head on. So we talk
00:33:06.840 about all sorts of things. Like this is why we've gone so hard on sex piety because feminism is in 0.98
00:33:10.840 the water and white women in particular in America are wildly liberal and need to be corrected sharply 1.00
00:33:17.220 on their feminism. Men need to be corrected sharply on their passivity and their abdication 1.00
00:33:23.520 and their lust, lust boys and pornography. And so what are we doing 99% of the time in our,
00:33:28.620 flock, sharply rebuking those sins, calling them out particularly concretely with gentleness and
00:33:34.820 with patience and, you know, complete patience and teaching as Paul exhorts elders to do
00:33:38.900 and seeing people repent of these things, walking them through what it looks like to repent of them
00:33:44.000 that they might bear good fruit. And so the thing is like all day long, what are we doing? We are
00:33:50.320 sharply rebuking the sins of our people that they be sound in the faith because we come from a people
00:33:54.220 in our culture today in America, generally, generally American culture is very wicked.
00:33:59.140 It has many besetting sins that we're constantly correcting. So nobody would ever blink an eye if
00:34:04.880 we did any of that. But the second you turn and say in the context, by the way, of the brutal
00:34:09.840 murder of a white woman, a racial murder of a white woman by a black man, violent repeat offender
00:34:16.260 who's been released over a dozen times by black female politicians and judges. And then we say
00:34:21.920 black culture has a pretty big problem in america blacks have a violence problem in america we need
00:34:28.500 to rebuke them that they be sound in the faith and we even said in the context of the clip could
00:34:32.780 a black person be a christian our church of course they just couldn't practice these sins
00:34:37.540 we're doing actually precisely proper exegesis and application that passage to today
00:34:43.040 that's what gets me so hot about these fake intellectuals that obfuscate they do everything
00:34:50.600 they can to keep the text from making contact with the real world so that they can continue
00:34:54.920 to safely hide away in their scholar's office and never rebuke anybody for their actual sins.
00:35:00.260 The sins that are destroying our nation and they're cowards and they're fools and they need
00:35:06.220 to repent of their cowardice and they need to do the exegesis. And guess what? The application as
00:35:12.200 well. So I think our exegesis is just fine. Yeah, it was interesting. There was another ARP. I think
00:35:20.360 karp i could be wrong there maybe opc uh but a pastor who was getting into it with michael
00:35:26.420 spangler and he was like oh yeah well clearly if you think ogden's right you've never had black
00:35:32.640 food we have the recipes what is funny to me though what is funny to me is that same crowd
00:35:43.880 to people who are like oh these plebs these pedestrian thinkers these morons in ogden let
00:35:52.560 us show you our intellectual prowess have you considered have you considered pig's feet
00:35:58.160 or like miles charcuterie the fourth is like charcuterie yeah he's like you know miles
00:36:05.740 lobster bisque the fourth you know he's like you know these ogden guys clearly have just never been
00:36:11.700 outside of their white bubble. And, you know, and you've lived in like what, Montgomery?
00:36:17.480 Yeah. It's like Montgomery, Birmingham, St. Louis, Chicago. It was funny because somebody who's
00:36:22.620 against us responded to my comment. Ooh, Montgomery and Birmingham. Now you have a point.
00:36:27.400 You're good. I lived in, we were military. So, I mean, I lived in multiple States. My wife lived
00:36:33.000 in many different States. I've been to more than a dozen countries. Like this is not, this is not
00:36:37.720 an ignorance question and, and what it, it doesn't actually follow. It's like when someone said in my
00:36:43.100 Instagram comments, you know, you're in an echo chamber, you need more black friends. And I'm
00:36:46.700 like, okay, well, if that's the case, then I can provide you with more than a dozen clips of black
00:36:51.660 people saying identical things to what I just did. Is it true? Because they said it. And the reality
00:36:56.480 is that's not how truth works. It's either true or it's not independent of how many black friends
00:37:01.480 I have, whether I like Cajun food or not, you know, how many times I've been personally murdered
00:37:05.880 by a black it's irrelevant this is actually the same argument in the pro-abortion oh yeah you're
00:37:12.280 not a woman well you're not a woman where's your uterus speak oh do you have a uterus i identify
00:37:17.160 as somebody actually having a uterus is not a prerequisite for knowing the truth believe it or
00:37:22.300 not people who are without uteruses sometimes say true things even about people with uteruses
00:37:28.720 whoa little known fact that is little known yeah so charcuterie wrong again charcuterie the fourth
00:37:35.820 was the thing that like when an academic calls me a racist dork I say and you think this gives
00:37:43.880 you power over me like well that you called me a racist dork I called you an academic which is the
00:37:49.540 worst insult I would say the academic I would say the academic that was probably the bulk of the
00:37:55.320 comments was like this is racist actually it was odd too because a lot of people said this is racist
00:38:01.120 and anti-semitic and i was i wanted like the black hebrew israelites or something i was like
00:38:08.660 you know those guys aren't actually so are you claiming that the way blacks are is because of
00:38:15.680 judaism i'm confused i don't get it i'm confused that's a weird that's a weird one uh this one i
00:38:20.780 did appreciate because from one of my favorite people online i'm just going to read it to you
00:38:25.360 you can guess who it is okay go ahead i'm not gonna screen peek this is a repost okay of the
00:38:31.040 video this is really troubling wait i'm a buzzword has been mentioned does this person
00:38:41.260 is this person under five feet tall but they have massive sketcher sneakers yes keep going
00:38:47.140 you won't even need the 20 questions to get this one does this person's name
00:38:52.620 rhyme with stowin' man.
00:38:57.100 A hand.
00:38:58.160 Stowin'
00:39:00.020 Am I warm?
00:39:03.040 It rhymes with Brigitte Moynihan.
00:39:07.060 Macronihan.
00:39:09.300 This is, yeah, of course, its own strand.
00:39:12.200 Everybody knew that.
00:39:13.360 This is really troubling.
00:39:15.860 He goes on.
00:39:17.420 White culture, scare quotes,
00:39:19.860 is depraved just like black culture truth is not connected to skin color truth is derived from god
00:39:30.180 alone we don't need our churches
00:39:36.600 to have a lot more white culture we need them to have biblical culture here i stand okay guys
00:39:49.200 racialism is poison that that's actually why are you so good at impersonation that's how it was
00:40:00.060 written your john piper is so on point too i need you to know this about johnny pipes his john
00:40:04.880 piper impersonation i listened to a lot of so good a lot of john it is so good it's spot on
00:40:10.980 yeah so this is in trouble then i am concerned this is obviously fake and gay but um what one
00:40:18.680 thing if you just detect the argument there was an argument in there white culture is depraved
00:40:23.340 just like black culture false they are depraved in certain ways different ways but once again
00:40:29.840 it's this thing to say like they're equally all cultures have aspects of depravity because of the
00:40:36.360 universality of sin that is a basic doctrine that none of us would deny but this is where
00:40:43.420 owen is at his finest yeah like truth is not connected to skin color truth is derived from
00:40:51.000 god alone so what he likes to do is make a lot of like good sounding pietistic arguments that
00:40:57.380 a nobody was even talking about that no the clip how is that even the clip wasn't like
00:41:01.800 the thing that causes crime is the darker you are so it's actually the skin color that causes
00:41:09.980 people to violently murder other people or it's in the melanin it's that's what does it yeah or
00:41:16.260 that we're the other argument i saw then he's getting at this but a lot of people said it as
00:41:23.380 well did like we're saying like white culture is supreme forget christianity just white culture
00:41:30.020 and we're like well here's the thing that you've got to recognize is that when paul and the
00:41:35.720 apostles came preaching and the roman empire was transformed and from it through the centuries was
00:41:42.940 built western christendom western civilization to say as a referent white meant white european
00:41:50.440 christian generally yeah um and and you're talking about an entire matrix of things including
00:41:58.280 ethnicity race however you want to characterize that that's all important but now when people
00:42:04.020 like owen's trying to play the like whiteness has only ever referred to your melanin count
00:42:09.980 yeah it's like when you think about which is not true which is a topic that again it's it's
00:42:15.340 surrounded by blasphemy laws we're not supposed to think about it or talk about it but let's do
00:42:19.840 that when we think about race we're talking about something complex where where you have all these
00:42:25.480 different aspects of human life and civilization and community and history and you can't hermetically
00:42:30.600 seal off any one aspect from any other. So you have all sorts of things that are going into
00:42:36.000 what makes a people, a nation, a race, the way that they are. There's religion and spirituality.
00:42:42.320 There's geography and climate. There's their historical setting. Where did they come from?
00:42:47.420 How did they become a nation? Are they an enslaved people? Are they an enslaving people?
00:42:51.660 You factor all of these different, their diet, like you factor all of these different things in
00:42:58.220 over centuries and centuries and you do get nations and peoples and races that are they
00:43:03.540 have distinctness to them they have shared characteristics with all of humanity descended
00:43:07.680 from adam and they have distinct characteristics that you can compare and contrast with other
00:43:13.440 cultures so who is the one who is in a facile way oversimplifying it all the way down to melanin
00:43:19.740 no nobody owen owen is doing that he and he he's he's in the most direct way straw manning the
00:43:27.700 argument in the most direct way, strawmanning the argument, because what we're saying is
00:43:32.580 in these specific characteristics, we can compare and contrast two cultures, white Americans and
00:43:38.820 black Americans. Let's recognizing that there is a lot of distinction and subgroups within those
00:43:45.380 cultures. We could talk about Italian Americans. We could talk about people who came from Germanic
00:43:51.220 origins and immigrated to the US. We could talk about the Anglo Protestants. We talk about the
00:43:55.160 Southern Anglican Virginians. We could go to Albion Sea and talk about how the four major
00:43:59.940 British folkways shaped American culture and Scots-Irish border culture. Like we could talk
00:44:04.300 about all that. We could go to Thomas Sowell and black rednecks and white liberals. And we could
00:44:08.220 go to all of that. I'm just saying, let's back up and look at the forest for a section for a minute
00:44:14.320 and say, well, we've got a bunch of trees, but over there, there's a stand of birch trees.
00:44:18.600 And over there, there's a stand of Douglas firs. Let's compare and contrast.
00:44:22.240 so racist and unbelievable i'm literally shaking it's a totally reasonable thing
00:44:30.660 to do that and anthropologists have been doing this forever like this is what anthropology is
00:44:37.660 it's like sociology is largely about doing this exact thing in many levels um black people love
00:44:43.940 to do this when they're when they're you know building a narrative about black supremacy
00:44:47.520 and you know we was kings and we built everything and really america's a result of all of our
00:44:52.300 labors and like but the second that you say anything negative about blacks as a people group
00:44:58.800 people absolutely freak out and and here's what i want you to notice dear listener they're not
00:45:04.500 freaking out because you've said something untrue they're freaking out because you have said
00:45:10.640 something that violates a blasphemy law yeah no i think that's exactly owen strand is not actually
00:45:17.240 offended and troubled and concerned. So this is, this is to that point. I thought this was great.
00:45:23.000 A.D. Robles posted this yesterday in response. He shared the screenshot and then he shared
00:45:28.980 from a statement. This has got to be like 10 years ago that Owen with a bunch of the Ligonier
00:45:35.460 people had signed on to this statement. And I I'd have to check to see what the actual statement is.
00:45:40.620 But A.D. posted this. He said, current Owen Strand is deeply troubled about what former
00:45:45.720 Owen Strand believes. And even earlier, Owen Strand had an epileptic fit over both of the
00:45:52.780 newer Owen Strands. Someone please let him know it's going to be okay. I would, but he blocked me
00:45:58.340 a long time ago. So we have the tweet that we just read, but here's the statement, one of the
00:46:03.060 affirmations that he signed. He's a signer on this statement. It says, we affirm that some cultures
00:46:09.620 operate on assumptions that are inherently better than those of other cultures because of the
00:46:14.360 biblical truths that inform those worldviews that have produced these distinct assumptions.
00:46:19.640 Those elements of a given culture that reflect divine revelation should be celebrated and
00:46:23.840 promoted. But the various cultures out of which we have been called all have features that are
00:46:28.460 worldly and sinful, and therefore those sinful features should be repudiated for the honor of
00:46:32.900 Christ. We affirm that whatever evil influences to which we have been subjected via our culture
00:46:38.060 can be and must be overcome through conversion and the training of both mind and heart through
00:46:42.920 biblical truth. I recently got these new resistance candles. And let me tell you,
00:46:49.080 these are not your grandmother's potpourri. No, no, no. These are scents that are real,
00:46:53.180 earthy, and full of aromas that are actually masculine. If your domain doesn't already smell
00:46:58.040 like gunpowder and tobacco, then first, what are you even doing? And second, you can easily fix
00:47:03.440 that by getting your own resistance candle. The shall not be infringed scent is a personal

00:49:54.300 So again, that opening statement, some cultures operate on assumptions that are inherently better than those of other cultures.
00:50:00.960 So this point has been made by many, many people throughout history.
00:50:04.700 If you look at something like the descendants of Esau, if covenantally, we know that Adam was the head of the human race.
00:50:12.020 We know that Abraham's the head of this other seed, but then you'll have divisions where it goes Esau.
00:50:19.660 And there's a lineage that comes from that.
00:50:22.280 Edomites.
00:50:22.600 The Edomites. And so here's what happens when you worship demons, it does something covenantally to a people. Right. And, and then the reverse can be true also is that when like you have white Europeans who repent in mass and you get Christendom, well, that's also true.
00:50:41.520 yeah 15 centuries of christendom and what we can say and what we have to say if we just open our
00:50:46.360 eyes and and forget about what the pc police are telling you but if you just open your eyes
00:50:50.500 cultures are different yeah and christian largely white european culture people the whole just look
00:51:01.740 at the whole enchilada that is better than a hindu worshiping indian culture that poops in the street
00:51:09.360 and and they and and we shouldn't even owen doesn't even he's saying we should that's true
00:51:14.640 yeah and so owen just released another 10-part struggle session as we were recording this and
00:51:18.640 i was trying to kind of glance through it and one of his big pushbacks about this whole thing
00:51:23.020 is that he can make a he can make what he he's identifying what i'm saying about black culture
00:51:27.580 as a caricature he's saying well i could make an uh an equally shocking caricature about white
00:51:32.280 culture it's npr and serial adultery and all these things but actually actually crime stats
00:51:38.180 are not a caricature people when they make this argument they are unwilling to go to the granular
00:51:44.580 data to support their argument because they cannot they cannot and here's the other thing
00:51:50.280 if we zoom out civilizationally and we say what has generally white european northern and western
00:51:56.720 culture produced the culture that that in its epitome is embodied in america we could say
00:52:02.620 What has it produced? It's produced some of the greatest civilizations in the history of the world. God truly has enlarged Japheth, we could say. It has absolutely produced some of the greatest civilizations, some of the greatest technological advances, scholarly, Christian, doctrinal advances on virtually every level.
00:52:21.080 when we can, when we compare and contrast, for example, generally white Northern and Western
00:52:25.920 European Anglo, and then American culture to something like the history, entire history of
00:52:31.580 sub-Saharan African culture, what kind of comparison and contrasting would we see?
00:52:37.360 And it's controversial because it is so difficult to put into words how vast the chasm is between
00:52:43.600 what those two cultures have historically produced. And so, yeah, Owen can, can zoom in on,
00:52:50.820 all sorts of white sins that we regularly rebuke and even in the very episode by the way talked
00:52:56.120 about things like birth control and the hatred of our own progeny where we allow our nation to be
00:53:01.500 flooded with foreigners stop having children sacrifice them to the false gods via abortion
00:53:06.140 all these things are absolutely foolish why do you think we talk about feminism so much
00:53:11.120 and marxism and communism because we have been absolutely played as a nation people and
00:53:18.020 civilization by these cancerous ideologies. We've apostatized, we've committed grievous sins. And
00:53:25.800 what is, what is the King's Hall? What is our solution to that? It is to name them with explicit
00:53:31.420 fervor. It is to call people to explicit repentance to that, to those things and to teach our people
00:53:37.820 and walk them through repentance for those exact things. That's exactly what we're doing. And Owen,
00:53:42.780 And here's what I'm trying to say to blacks in America.
00:53:45.800 Do the same thing.
00:53:47.680 Repent of the sins that characterize your culture.
00:53:50.440 If they don't describe you, praise God, you're on my team.
00:53:54.560 I said it in the clip.
00:53:55.920 He's imagining this struggle session that we put black people through in their members.
00:53:59.700 You know, they get through the membership process.
00:54:01.400 And then we say like, oh, in addition, have you repudiated black culture?
00:54:05.520 No, that's retarded.
00:54:06.740 That's not our point.
00:54:07.460 Our entire membership process to anybody who would apply militates against black culture.
00:54:12.780 Why? Because in membership, we're going to ask you about your sexual history. We're going to
00:54:16.640 ask you about your marriage history. We're going to ask you about your children. Are you giving
00:54:19.180 them a Christian education? We're going to go through all of the most common church discipline
00:54:22.440 scenarios in our culture today and make sure that somebody coming into membership is not going to
00:54:27.200 need to be put under church discipline immediately. And here was the point that we were making in
00:54:30.960 that. A black person could not come through membership embodying the generally true state
00:54:37.480 of black culture in America and make it through that membership process. They don't get a special
00:54:42.120 black membership process. The point is that that culture is antithetical to Christian faith.
00:54:49.680 It's antithetical to civilization. It's antithetical to all that is good.
00:54:54.940 Yeah, I totally agree. I think as with most of Owen's interactions, you just have to read them
00:55:01.780 as fundamentally dishonest. He is a dishonest interlocutor. Yes. One of the things that's
00:55:07.740 interesting his first you were mentioning his response so i was reading through that too
00:55:11.820 he says what is white culture this reminds me of pilot what even is truth i've noticed this too
00:55:19.260 with a lot of the ultra zionists and and you can put owen kind of in that camp too right pro israel
00:55:24.380 neocon pwc type guy one of the things that strikes me is they're like they can define jewish culture
00:55:30.500 and jewish nationhood very clearly and they'll speak specifically about it and it's unfettered
00:55:35.920 goodness and all the great things it's done for the world but then anytime you try to have a
00:55:40.500 national identity immediately they will be like well what even is culture i mean we've got you
00:55:47.340 know people from everywhere here how could you even know and what they're trying to do is muddy
00:55:51.700 the water and make it like you could never really actually know anything about a culture so basically
00:55:57.960 they're saying culture is nothing his conclusion here paul is by the way offering paul by the way
00:56:02.780 is offering a cultural generalization in Titus one and two, but not in any way, according to
00:56:07.060 skin color or ethnicity. What a stupid thing to say. What an absolutely stupid thing to say.
00:56:15.180 Owen is the one who wants to hermetically seal off whole parts of what it means to be human
00:56:19.300 and say that they have absolutely nothing to do with us. What a Gnostic and intellectually vapid
00:56:26.500 statement to make. Here's the thing I think people have to, I agree. People have to understand about
00:56:31.860 on 2021, 2022, 80 rubles, uh, points this out. Owen called me multiple times. He has my cell
00:56:40.040 phone number and he said, Hey, I love what you're doing with the hard men podcast. This is exactly
00:56:45.980 what America needs. I'd love to come on your podcast. I had him on twice. Um, but he told
00:56:51.680 me at the time, I think he was at like Southwestern or something. Uh, he said, I can't speak to
00:56:56.340 anything publicly, uh, what you're saying. I agree with you vehemently. We need more of it.
00:57:00.440 I can't speak to any of it cause I would lose my job. And then he called me and he said, Hey,
00:57:06.120 I'm getting a new job. I think it was at grace Bible seminary or whatever. He said, I'm going
00:57:10.320 to be more free to speak now. I'm really looking forward to that. So then he changes his tune and
00:57:15.360 he starts saying he's on X Twitter at the time, agreeing with everything that I'm saying, or most
00:57:21.100 of it saying like, yeah, you're absolutely right. Women shouldn't be, uh, competing in these like
00:57:25.500 college professional level sports and, and all this stuff. Like he was on board. Yeah.
00:57:31.120 Love this stuff. We had, we had good interaction. Then I don't know where he is now, but at some
00:57:36.560 point he goes to focus on the family. And the minute that happened, he became anti-CN, anti-me,
00:57:43.200 anti-Joel. And this is why I've said, I don't say this lightly. Owen is a grifter. He is willing to
00:57:49.640 say whatever is going to get him in the good graces of whoever at the time happens to be paying
00:57:53.920 his check and whatever that new audience seems to be. This is the definition of a charlatan and a
00:58:00.680 grifter. And men like this, their time is limited. You have no principles. Your principles are just
00:58:05.020 whatever the people who believe who pay you. What is the most mass appeal, low IQ thing that I could
00:58:11.300 say about a complex and difficult subject that actually takes courage to speak to? Actually,
00:58:16.320 it takes courage to talk about these things right now in America today in the same way that it took
00:58:21.660 courage in 2019, 2020, 2021 to talk about sex piety and masculinity. A lot of the massive errors
00:58:28.240 of egalitarianism where they pushed way too far have been so revealed that now broadly America is
00:58:32.900 like, no, men aren't evil. Men aren't bad. And of course, towards the tail end of that, Owen's out
00:58:38.860 there going, oh, I wrote a book about masculinity. Watch in 2029, he's going to be writing a book
00:58:44.440 about race. Like that, that's the kind of absurdity. I don't actually think he'll do that,
00:58:48.300 but like that's the kind of absurdity i love get with owen yeah it is i love point number seven he
00:58:53.520 says i'm struggling i'm struggling to put into words how practically offensive this suggestion
00:59:01.540 from sove is so here's the the fakest and the gayest thing about this owen's not struggling
00:59:07.380 with anything he's not offended by anything what he's trying to do is score points with leftist
00:59:12.840 women and like he sees the lecraze of the world he's like oh popular thing i could stand against
00:59:19.400 a lot of people will like me if i if i say bad things about the ogden people that's kind of
00:59:24.940 popular right now i yeah i should say i'm troubled i should that will persuade women to think that
00:59:32.740 i'm courageous so i can keep giving fake emotional speeches that persuade nobody of substance that i
00:59:39.100 myself, I'm a man of substance.
00:59:42.340 Point number
00:59:43.060 10, he closes. Paul, by the way,
00:59:45.860 is offering a cultural
00:59:47.300 generalization in Titus 1
00:59:49.200 and 2, but not
00:59:51.120 in any way according to skin
00:59:53.060 color or ethnicity. So let me just put,
00:59:55.340 this is my two cents on this
00:59:57.020 subject.
00:59:58.940 I think that you might be retarded
01:00:01.060 if you continue
01:00:02.920 to try and separate
01:00:04.460 all those things from each other. Culture,
01:00:07.660 skin color, ethnicity,
01:00:09.100 language the the idea that you can have culture without those other components
01:00:16.380 like i don't know what you would say about that brian but i find it absolutely absurd it's like
01:00:22.720 saying it's the same argument the feminists make well because you have male genitalia you get to
01:00:28.180 make all the decisions like they try to it's a reductio ad absurdum like you try to reduce it 1.00
01:00:34.040 the most absurd thing, which no one is saying, by the way. But I think if you look at, you talk
01:00:39.240 about hermetically sealing, people are whole people. We come from cultures, we come from
01:00:44.400 places, we have backgrounds. I refuse to buy this woke left lie that Owen is purporting
01:00:50.400 that Paul was talking about culture, but not skin color or ethnicity. And I would say race.
01:00:57.140 Notice Paul doesn't like sort those things out. No. It's like me saying, well, Brian's a white
01:01:03.120 man, but I think of his beard as a different part of him. Crete is a large island and it has
01:01:09.720 multiple people groups. Some of them who have been there for longer than others. Some of them
01:01:12.760 who haven't been there quite as long. Corinth is an analogous situation. Corinth is a city
01:01:17.260 where, you know, there's populations, mixed populations. It was a seagoing people. So you
01:01:22.660 have a lot of interface with other cultures, but in the Roman empire, there was a Greek word
01:01:27.060 that was basically a bastardization of the word for Corinth. It was like to say that someone was
01:01:31.620 a Corinthian in the Roman empire at that time meant that they were sexually degenerate. It was
01:01:36.700 like a Corinthia Zomai or something. They were a sexual degenerate. And why were they able to do
01:01:41.800 that? Well, because not everybody in Corinth was sexually degenerate. It was a besetting sin of
01:01:46.580 those people. They had lots of prostitution, temple prostitution, worship of Aphrodite,
01:01:50.460 like all these factors went into that, but they could make a generalization. So when you see Paul
01:01:55.500 addressing Corinth in his first and second letter to the Corinthians, he addresses,
01:02:01.620 lo and behold, all of these aspects of Corinthian culture that lo and behold were present in the
01:02:07.880 church there. They were sexually sinful in shocking ways. A man had his father's wife,
01:02:12.580 like all these really shocking ways. Paul was saying, yeah, like the Corinthian cultures like
01:02:17.880 this, humanly speaking, Paul planted the church, go read an ax. And so he knew them and he was
01:02:23.240 bringing to bear the truth of God's word against the general sins of the culture that had their
01:02:27.900 particular instantiation in people in the congregation. Crete is like that. Of course,
01:02:33.120 it's not just all racially monolithic where there's just one, you know, all descended from
01:02:37.900 this one family. Well, other than Adam. No, it's not like that. But nonetheless,
01:02:44.860 it had a distinct culture that had developed over a long period of time that marked the people of
01:02:51.500 Crete. It marked them. They were generally like this. And I'm saying that in America, in the
01:02:58.660 clip, what are we saying? In America, that blacks have developed a certain culture that is marked
01:03:05.980 in disproportionate ways by these antisocial behaviors. That is factually correct. I didn't
01:03:13.580 go into all of the historic reasons why. And then you could get into Albion Seed and say,
01:03:19.200 is it scots-irish border culture that uh is it like thomas sowell black redneck is it just
01:03:24.740 this british a lot of overlap in those arguments we didn't we didn't even speak to that question
01:03:30.300 of where it came from we're just saying this is the way it is this is the way that it generally
01:03:35.920 is and we should rebuke them sharply that they would repent of those things and come to christ
01:03:41.620 to be sound in the faith it's interesting i i hopefully we can play this right here but a
01:03:46.540 charlie kirk clip um it's funny because you know owen was at the memorial oh yeah um they're like
01:03:54.260 charlie kirk was a hero of and the things that he said about black people prowling blacks uh
01:04:00.040 victimizing whites targeting them specifically for murder that's what charlie kirk said uh charlie
01:04:04.940 kirk in august like august 5th was responding to um booker one of the a senator i think and
01:04:12.880 and said similar things we these men men like owen will absolutely build monuments to the dead
01:04:19.860 prophets while they persecute the living ones correct that's the kind of man that he is he's
01:04:24.080 proved himself again and again to be that kind of man and he needs to repent he's probably going to
01:04:28.440 watch this he oh and you need to repent of this you're being a coward you're being a chameleon
01:04:33.400 you're being unprincipled and you need to repent you're lying and slandering brothers in christ
01:04:38.660 you need to stop for your own soul yeah so definitely a lot of repentance that needs to
01:04:44.660 happen brian one of the things that i've really been thinking about because of charlie kirk
01:04:49.560 um there's a few things i would say number one charlie was a master of just continuing to make
01:04:56.540 the arguments knowing the threats but being reasonable continuing to i think win a lot of
01:05:02.960 people because of just how reasonable and well thought out his arguments were.
01:05:09.380 But at the same time, he also recognized, and we must as well, I think like, you know,
01:05:16.480 take Owen, for example, when people are doing this to you online, the fundamental goal is
01:05:21.260 to destroy you.
01:05:22.320 It's to put you out of business.
01:05:23.600 It's to destroy your reputation and specifically not to engage in good faith with the actual
01:05:29.680 arguments.
01:05:30.560 So you've got to know that those two things are true.
01:05:32.960 um i guess as you think about you know the example let's say of charlie kirk it is kind of
01:05:40.280 mind-blowing a he made a lot of the same arguments that we've made about you know how the black
01:05:45.380 community black culture has functioned yeah so like most of the major conservative talking heads
01:05:50.900 have yes um he faced hostility but there's something impressive is there not that he was
01:05:57.320 like it's true though yeah it's it's like this is the point i think he was actually a principled
01:06:02.300 guy. Yeah. People can say like, you know, why, why don't you just talk about this in your back
01:06:06.900 rooms? Why don't you just keep this in the GC? Why don't you, because you know, what's funny is
01:06:11.000 that one phenomenon when you have any, anything like this go kind of viral is that you'll have
01:06:16.760 a whole network of friends, acquaintances kind of on out. And you know, anytime this has happened
01:06:22.320 to us, we'll, we'll experience this where a lot of your friends and acquaintances will say, Hey man,
01:06:26.640 I see that this is going viral, getting a lot of pushback. I think you're a hundred percent right.
01:06:29.300 I can't support it publicly because of my tactical situation, job position, whatever.
01:06:33.880 But, you know, I think you're right.
01:06:35.920 And we're talking about people who are like pretty normie conservatives who would see a clip like this and say, yeah, I mean, you're pretty spot on about this.
01:06:44.840 I can't say that publicly.
01:06:46.280 And two things about that.
01:06:47.700 One, I get it.
01:06:48.500 We actually need an awareness of the tactical landscape and our job in the tactical landscape.
01:06:53.360 The King's Hall is basically the furthest right that you can get.
01:06:57.080 We're like, pretty much just say what we think are.
01:07:01.720 We're in the Overton window shifting business.
01:07:03.960 That's what we do.
01:07:05.020 We're going to go find places where we're not allowed to talk.
01:07:08.200 It's what we've been doing for years. 0.94
01:07:09.160 Find places you're not allowed to talk in terms of ecclesiology, feminism, sex piety,
01:07:13.880 et cetera.
01:07:14.860 And we're just going to say, well, what's true over here?
01:07:17.200 Let's make sure that we're speaking the truth, but then let's just speak the truth.
01:07:20.820 And what you're, what you find is that you're putting words to thoughts people have had
01:07:24.600 that are unformed.
01:07:25.280 They're like, I've seen that. But until you said it, I didn't know exactly what I was looking at. So that's our job. I recognize there are people who are in mainstream institutions and other places where they can't do that. And they're not going to counter signal us, but they're also not going to publicly support it. That's totally fine.
01:07:42.760 But what I do think we need to hear on the conservative side is that one of our besetting sins, let me now talk in a general way about the besetting sins of conservatism and see if anybody's offended by it, is that we tend to be too cautious.
01:07:56.400 We tend to be too cautious and too fearful of the left calling us names.
01:07:59.760 We tend to be too fearful of the left saying, well, we've invented this whole playbook where you're not actually allowed to talk about that.
01:08:05.420 And if you do, we'll call you a racist or we'll call you misogynist or we'll call you whatever, fill in scary word, we'll call you a Nazi.
01:08:12.640 And what the right needs to get better at doing, and Charlie is, I think, a model of this, in a mainstream kind of way of saying, oh, I'm not allowed to talk about that anyway, and then he talks about that.
01:08:27.900 And he was having these conversations on college campuses where there'd be a black college student that would come up and be like, you're a racist, you're this and you're that.
01:08:34.100 and he'd be like, hey, can someone pull up the FBI crime statistics? All the same statistics I
01:08:38.760 just referenced about fraud, homicide, rape, aggravated murder, assault, carjacking, all
01:08:44.500 these different things. And just show that in every single one of these categories, blacks
01:08:49.440 far disproportionately are represented. And then he would say to them, why is that? Why is that?
01:08:56.460 And they would usually say, well, it's because of white racism. So it's the white people's fault,
01:09:00.060 which is a generalization you're allowed to make in our culture. And he would say, okay,
01:09:03.420 well, since the Civil Rights Act, this has gotten worse since the 60s. So have we gotten more racist
01:09:09.940 since the Civil Rights Act than when black people could be legally forbidden from coming into a
01:09:14.640 store just for being black? Well, of course, like he would just calmly dismantle the argument and
01:09:19.060 show them that, no, there's actually a problem in the black community that the black community
01:09:24.320 needs to address. And that was his point. It's the same point we're making. It's not,
01:09:29.160 But let's all call black people names for no reason.
01:09:32.880 The point is the same point Paul made in Titus.
01:09:36.120 Rebuke them that they may be sound in the faith.
01:09:38.100 I want, just like I want the white congregants in my church to repent of their specific sins
01:09:43.540 and come into health, I want blacks in America to repent of these besetting sins and walk
01:09:50.280 in the light.
01:09:51.060 And if you're a black person and you're not walking in these sins, I'm not talking about
01:09:55.460 you.
01:09:56.400 Just like Cretans that weren't liars and evil beasts.
01:09:58.620 Paul wasn't talking about them.
01:10:00.000 He was making a generalization.
01:10:01.560 But the right wing has been so fearful of speaking like that,
01:10:06.200 that they make themselves ineffective
01:10:08.920 and they're constantly the shadow falling radicalism to perdition
01:10:12.760 that Dabney warned about.
01:10:14.880 They let the left set the agenda
01:10:17.480 and then they undermine their own people who are alive
01:10:21.040 and build monuments to them once they're dead.
01:10:23.440 So my exhortation to conservatives who agree with what I said,
01:10:28.620 agree with what I said and are doing this fear calculation is, yeah, maybe your tactical
01:10:34.280 situation is that you can't publicly do it, but is it really? Is it really? Yeah. I think if you
01:10:41.160 were going to, if I was going to pinpoint the sins of white people in America, particularly
01:10:45.880 conservative white people, I would say that, that we're cowards. We don't like to go on offense.
01:10:52.320 charlie has this great clip where it's it was on x today but he was saying basically the same thing
01:11:00.960 like we have a cowardice problem and the thing is the left plays offense and it's going to take
01:11:06.680 some bold people and he was using these i mean now after the fact that he's been assassinated
01:11:11.480 it's all the more poignant but he said look steve bannon went on offense what happened to him he
01:11:17.300 went to jail um donald trump went on offense look at what happened to him lawfare federal charges
01:11:23.200 attempted assassination james o'keefe went went on offense had his company taken from him yep
01:11:28.480 the problem is they preempt us against offense but that is not an excuse we all have to play
01:11:32.880 offense we have to take the initiative but here's the thing we are not good offensive players i'll
01:11:36.960 prove it to you oh that's absolutely because conservatives definitionally are defensive we
01:11:41.280 They're conserving against their offense, right?
01:11:44.580 So like, but by our temperament is to build businesses and churches and be agreeable.
01:11:49.620 Our temperament, we don't think like revolutionaries.
01:11:52.480 Well, you got to change that.
01:11:54.120 And so, but Charlie's point was, that doesn't mean you should stop.
01:11:57.660 That means we need to have more people on offense.
01:12:00.200 We need more of them because if instead of half a percent of conservatives were on offense,
01:12:04.800 30% were, do you know how much harder it would be for them to win via lawfare?
01:12:09.560 You can't go after everyone.
01:12:10.560 us. They wouldn't conserve it. There's a silent majority in America that looks at the massive
01:12:15.600 dysfunction in our culture and they know what's, they know what's going on, but they're scared to
01:12:21.640 say anything and their leaders aren't leading. That's right. And so I would just, as a reminder
01:12:27.040 to the white conservative Christian Americans, remember what's said in the book of Revelation,
01:12:32.380 cowards go to hell. And that is just a stark warning. And if you take nothing away from,
01:12:37.940 you know, the Charlie Kirk story and everything that's happened. I think a lot of people are
01:12:42.460 taking away this lesson, but you have to be courageous. Yeah. You have to be brave. One of
01:12:48.100 the calculations I ran in my mind was like, wow, this is so tragic. A guy at 31 years old was
01:12:52.740 gunned down. He could have been a future leader in America. And then I was just praying and
01:12:57.960 reflecting on this. And I was thinking the Lord made him more effective in death than he ever
01:13:03.340 could have been in life. Not only like if Charlie had had a long career and he had had, you know,
01:13:09.780 done podcasting forever and maybe runs for office or something like that. Yeah. You'd, you'd,
01:13:15.140 you'd remember him, but because of what happened, like God has put his seal and stamp on it. And
01:13:20.620 he's like, no, you will remember forever this man and what he did and what he gave to speak for the
01:13:25.940 truth. And the way I would put it is like this, that, that attitude to, to, to your point, that
01:13:32.060 attitude of let's just all keep it in the shadows. There's a time to do that. I understand exactly
01:13:37.880 what's being said there, but Jesus also told his disciples, what I tell you in the dark,
01:13:42.640 you will shout from rooftops and they will kill you. You have to be willing to die for the things
01:13:49.420 that you believe. Can you, so if you're in any sphere, if you're, you know, a businessman,
01:13:55.680 if you're a pastor, whatever you are, if you're listening, I would, I would ask you a simple
01:13:59.560 question. What's your price? Yeah. What can shut you up? Yep. Is it $150 million from a foreign
01:14:05.840 nation? Is it threats? Is it social disapproval? Is it social disapproval? Is it saying, hey,
01:14:12.560 you're never going to get an academic university job ever again if you keep talking like that.
01:14:18.700 And then I would ask you the question, it's like, well, do you really believe it or not?
01:14:22.280 Yeah. Was it James O'Keefe that said, if the price is anything short of your life,
01:14:26.140 then there is a price and you can be bought.
01:14:27.820 That's right.
01:14:28.600 Yeah, is it 5 million?
01:14:29.440 Is it 10 million?
01:14:30.040 Is it 100 million?
01:14:30.940 Even if it's 100 million, you have a price.
01:14:33.280 If it's not your life, then you can be bought.
01:14:36.280 And that's the, we have to recognize
01:14:38.160 that we are in a fight for civilization.
01:14:40.660 We are in a fight for the future of our children.
01:14:43.700 We cannot continue to look clear problems in the eye
01:14:47.780 and use euphemisms and play by the left's rules
01:14:51.080 and say, I'll let you shut me up
01:14:53.640 with the right buttons and scary words
01:14:55.940 and things like that,
01:14:56.680 we have to say, no, I'm not going to be shut up.
01:14:59.020 I'm actually going to just keep telling the truth
01:15:01.380 because guess what?
01:15:03.280 A whole lot of people see these things too.
01:15:05.940 A growing number of people see these things too.
01:15:08.580 And it will break the witch's spell
01:15:10.660 if enough of us say them out loud.
01:15:12.800 Yeah, that's right.
01:15:13.760 And I would just give credence to that
01:15:15.360 with what's happened post-assassination.
01:15:19.340 You know, 2020, it took people a while.
01:15:22.500 I remember in the church, not like the church we were going to,
01:15:25.860 but like I would say things online like, hey, lockdowns?
01:15:28.900 I don't think so.
01:15:29.960 Like this is crazy.
01:15:31.900 And I had, you know, soccer moms and homeschool moms
01:15:35.940 just reading me the riot act and private messages and online, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
01:15:41.100 A couple of years later, they were like, yeah, I think, you know,
01:15:44.340 maybe you could have been maybe right about some of that, right?
01:15:47.400 Okay, but it took time.
01:15:49.260 I got a message last night from a guy that said, hey, two years ago,
01:15:51.760 I was a real prick to you I repent you were right I said I forgive you and and I think what's
01:15:59.460 happening now though is like even the FBI had to say Kash Patel had to say like yeah we're gonna
01:16:06.840 relook into the investigation why because all the pressure on social media you had people at the
01:16:12.660 memorial you know reporting this but they were like nobody here believes the narrative not a soul
01:16:18.140 there's no one here who believes that what happened is what they said and i think because
01:16:23.500 of that again it's this momentum for the people to say hey you need to let your voice be heard
01:16:30.680 you need to speak the truth love the video from john level right yeah the stuff that's garbage
01:16:36.280 call it out yeah and you have to be bold on that and and i think what people don't understand
01:16:41.640 is it's this protectionism thing like, well, I was talking to years ago, two, three years ago,
01:16:49.860 I was talking to some conservative guys in the South. I mean, like agree with a lot of what we
01:16:54.140 say. And I said, so where, you know, where do you work? They told me big corporation. If you said
01:16:59.060 the name, everybody would know it, that type of deal. And they were like, yeah, we've been sitting
01:17:03.160 through DEI training at work. And, you know, we've had to go around the room and like say our
01:17:08.080 pronouns it's like a humiliation ritual yeah and i said what did you do and they said well you know
01:17:13.380 i just said i'm a he him and and i'm like guys i love what tucker said and this is what a lot of
01:17:20.000 the guys who are in that 50 to 60 category they need to say this tucker said it he's like i'm
01:17:25.620 gonna die soon like what do i really have to lose yeah i'm just gonna tell the truth yep and again
01:17:32.240 this is why we just need the silent majority to have a spine.
01:17:37.120 Can I just give one last illustration on why I know?
01:17:41.040 Cause I know even I've had black Christians that I know who are like,
01:17:45.380 this is a really bad generalization, Brian.
01:17:47.100 I think you're a Christian, whatever.
01:17:48.540 But this generalization you made about black culture in America is really bad.
01:17:51.960 I would, I would turn it on them like this.
01:17:53.480 And I would say, okay,
01:17:54.220 you think that I've made an improper generalization about blacks in America.
01:17:58.320 If there was a church that had a hundred men in the church,
01:18:01.500 and 67 of them were in the KKK, 67 of them, every Friday night, they put on their white hoods.
01:18:09.160 They went to the blackest part of town and they burned down black churches, black homes,
01:18:14.700 and they yelled racial slurs while they did it. And then they worshiped on Sunday. Would you be
01:18:18.620 justified in saying that that church, generally speaking, had a problem? You'd have no problem
01:18:23.820 with that generalization. Okay. Now in the black community in America, something like 60 to 70%
01:18:30.600 of black households are single household or single parent households. Why is that? Well,
01:18:36.420 because there's a rampant promiscuity, adultery problem, not taking responsibility for yourself
01:18:42.860 sexually, fathering children that you have no intention of raising. And so generally speaking,
01:18:47.760 I would say the black community has a fatherlessness problem, has a single parent household
01:18:52.180 problem. And if you're really offended by that second kind of metaphor, but not, or generalization,
01:18:58.600 but not by the first, I would, I would just say, why, why would you be okay with making the
01:19:03.220 generalization about the 65 KKK members out of a hundred in a church, but not the 65 single
01:19:09.360 parent households out of a hundred in America. And I think it's that clear because people really
01:19:15.040 do think I get it guys. Like people hear this and they think we're being unreasonable. They think
01:19:19.060 we're being intentionally inflammatory for no reason other than to get attention. Absolutely
01:19:24.580 not there i actually would prefer not to have the attention on that like we haven't we haven't
01:19:30.760 actually made many clips of the king's hall over the years because we're really busy we pastor
01:19:34.520 church we do you know a whole media company and you know as a company we've grown we have enough
01:19:39.180 employees now that we have employees whose job is manage social media you know take what we already
01:19:44.520 make and you know amplify the message of it more and more so this is just a clip of like seven
01:19:49.100 clips they cut out of one episode just in the course of their job saying what was the substance
01:19:53.700 of this episode. Guys, all of our episodes have stuff like this in them. We just didn't clip them
01:19:58.440 out. Things that would make normie conservatives, normie broad American culture, absolutely offended.
01:20:05.140 And we're not doing it to just be shock jocks for the point of attention. Like you said,
01:20:09.900 most of the time, this kind of attention is actually disruptive. And we have to take time
01:20:14.240 away from the things that we'd rather be doing in pastoring and living our lives here in this
01:20:18.880 community to address them and, you know, go, okay, well now we actually have to do some stuff to
01:20:23.200 answer this because there's a big national conversation surrounding some piece of content
01:20:26.580 that we made. We say the things we say because we believe they're true, helpful, and timely.
01:20:32.160 That's why we do it. If you disagree with any of those three things, you don't think it's true,
01:20:36.540 you don't think it's helpful, you don't think it's timely, bring an argument and let's discuss it.
01:20:40.000 I'm totally fine with that. But I would just say, make sure that you are not just responding
01:20:44.700 to the knee-jerk cultural programming of woke Marxist communist modern culture and that you're
01:20:51.960 actually thinking through the arguments that we've made coldly and soberly and assessing them in
01:20:56.520 light of reason in scripture, because I think they stand up. Otherwise we wouldn't have said them at
01:21:00.600 all. I think they stand up. You can still disagree with us on some of those things, but I want to at
01:21:06.120 least say that and say, no, these are our motives behind these things. It's not these ill motives
01:21:11.420 people ascribe to us. That's why we're saying these things. Yeah. And one thing I think that's
01:21:17.640 helpful. I've had several people, uh, one guy named Kevin and then, uh, was talking with Virgil
01:21:23.740 and it was really interesting because both I was just talking with and they said, Hey,
01:21:29.420 I disagree with you here or there. Uh, would love to talk more about it. Willing to have a
01:21:33.500 reasonable conversation. And to that, I say yes and amen. Um, I think we need more of that. It
01:21:38.860 is funny to me, both black guys who were just like very, you know, considerate and kind and
01:21:44.660 like hey i disagree let's talk about it would you hear me out and i think while i want to say we
01:21:51.520 need more of that and we do and i'm willing to do that um again it just goes back to the reality
01:21:57.840 like we're in a culture war here yeah and you know some of the things that we've faced you know
01:22:06.180 the backlash it is not the majority of it is not from people who are like hey i'd like to have a
01:22:13.140 well-reasoned conversation with you. Yeah. Um, so I, I think too, just as you're processing these
01:22:17.760 things, follow that minority example of like the guys who are like, I'm willing to hear you out.
01:22:23.320 I'm willing to discuss it. Um, that's really the only way that you're going to make, I think you're
01:22:28.760 going to make progress on the right in particular. Yeah. Um, but then also realizing we're not even
01:22:34.100 trying to make progress with the left. No, the, one of the quote tweets of, um, the clip that we
01:22:39.200 shared was a guy who said getting charlie wasn't enough really yeah i mean so what is he saying
01:22:44.060 well we should shoot these guys in the face yeah and that's just the tip of the iceberg like we do
01:22:49.180 and our friends get regular threats veiled threats of murder all sorts of stuff yeah insane uh but
01:22:57.360 i think it's been encouraging too just to know that if you're persecuted and hated for saying
01:23:02.440 true things are in good company yep uh and the lord is with you so just an encouragement to our
01:23:07.160 listeners as well. Hopefully this has been edifying. If you have questions, we'd love to
01:23:11.420 hear more of them. We'd be happy to answer them, especially on our Patreon exclusive, uh, after
01:23:16.400 hours, we field questions. You can go to wherever you listen to your podcast and there's a link to
01:23:21.460 drop a comment. Can't respond directly to that comment. It's not direct message, but it does,
01:23:26.900 uh, give us a report of the comments. Um, so definitely appreciate that. And thank you to
01:23:32.060 all our Patreon listeners. Couldn't do the show without you. Yeah. We're not funded by big donors.
01:23:36.280 We don't have those kinds of strings attached to us.
01:23:38.380 We're funded by listeners.
01:23:39.680 We're funded by thousands of listeners
01:23:42.000 chipping in a few bucks a month.
01:23:43.440 That's how New Christendom Press is funded.
01:23:45.480 Yeah, we sell books, we do other things,
01:23:46.960 but we're largely funded by thousands of Christians
01:23:49.940 who believe in the message that we're sharing,
01:23:52.280 getting behind us and saying,
01:23:53.360 I'll chip in five bucks a month
01:23:54.520 to help them continue to do that.
01:23:56.200 And we try to thank them with good content behind the scenes
01:23:58.320 and ad-free stuff and all of that.
01:23:59.800 But really the reason people support is because of that.
01:24:02.360 So thank you to those guys who do that.
