The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1096 - Hockey Player Commits Heresy By Refusing To Wear The Pride Flag

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, an outraged media calls for a hockey player to be punished and fined for refusing to dress up in rainbow colors to celebrate gay pride.

00:00:08.040 It's not enough to tolerate anymore or even celebrate. You must participate.

00:00:11.500 Also, Alec Baldwin has finally been charged with a crime over a year after killing a woman on a movie set.

00:00:16.200 Plus, Al Gore warns that the oceans are boiling away. Is that true? We'll fact check.

00:00:21.340 In our daily cancellation, I announced the birth of my twins last week, and this was somehow a source of outrage.

00:00:27.160 Outrage for many people on the Internet. We'll talk about all that and more today on the Matt Wall Show.

00:00:39.960 The current administration's New Year's goals are to tax, spend and turn a blind eye to inflation.

00:01:21.820 That's Walsh to 989898 today.

00:01:25.520 Welcome to the show.

00:01:26.620 As you know, I've been gone for the past several days as we welcome two new children into the world.

00:01:31.680 It's a joyous time in my family, even though my wife and I have both slept a combined three and a half hours since last Friday.

00:01:38.620 So if I start hallucinating during the course of the show today, don't be alarmed.

00:01:41.840 It's just a bit of mild psychosis caused by sleep deprivation.

00:01:45.500 Nothing to be concerned about.

00:01:46.480 The most important thing is that both babies and my wife are healthy and recovering well.

00:01:51.040 I am also recovering well, for the record, though admittedly I wasn't a very active participant in the actual birth.

00:01:57.380 But anyway, we thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes.

00:02:00.280 Now, let's talk about hockey.

00:02:03.400 And I confess that I know almost nothing about the sport.

00:02:07.040 I'd always thought of it as sort of like soccer on ice and involving athletes who won't collapse to the ground,

00:02:13.220 writhing in pain at the slightest hint of physical contact.

00:02:15.760 So hockey is colder than soccer and tougher and manlier and you get to punch people.

00:02:24.220 So like slightly less boring.

00:02:26.300 That's been my general impression of hockey from a distance.

00:02:29.120 And it may have been a generally accurate impression for a long time until wokeness got a hold of the sport as it has with every professional sport and began to destroy it as it has with every professional sport and everything else in society. 0.94

00:02:43.200 And these days, apparently, the most basic qualification for anyone who wants to be a professional hockey player.

00:02:49.560 The first prerequisite is not that he's tough or talented on the ice, but that he shows sufficient fealty to the new state religion of the United States of Gay.

00:03:00.400 So Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Pravorov sparked intense backlash this week after declining to participate in the team's Pride Night festivities.

00:03:11.820 The Daily Wire reports, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Pravorov refused to take the ice during warm-ups to observe Pride Night on Tuesday, citing his Christian faith.

00:03:22.320 Pravorov chose not to participate in the team promotion intended to show support for the LGBTQ plus community.

00:03:30.420 The pregame skate included players wearing Pride-themed jerseys that displayed their names and numbers in rainbow colors and holding hockey sticks wrapped in rainbow colored tape before the Flyers home game against the Anaheim Ducks.

00:03:43.940 Rainbow jerseys, rainbow numbers, rainbow hockey sticks.

00:03:50.060 One wonders if they're actually really getting the message across enough.

00:03:54.440 This seems a little bit too subtle to me.

00:03:56.600 Can they dye the ice a rainbow color?

00:03:58.860 Can they sprinkle rainbow confetti from the roof?

00:04:02.560 Can they set off rainbow fireworks outside the building and inside the building?

00:04:07.860 Can they give mandatory rainbow tattoos to every player and fan in attendance and summarily execute anyone who refuses?

00:04:16.840 Perhaps these are some ideas that they can take advantage of for future Pride Nights.

00:04:22.500 This week, they went with the bare minimum, merely asking every player to adorn themselves in a flag meant to express pride in the sexual behavior and lifestyle choices of LGBT people.

00:04:35.620 But this one player refused.

00:04:38.060 And after the game, he explained his reasoning to a deeply offended media.

00:04:43.260 Here he is.

00:04:43.660 Everybody, I respect everybody's choices.

00:04:47.000 My choice is to stay true to myself and my religion.

00:04:50.120 That's all I'm going to say.

00:04:53.240 How do you religious beliefs?

00:04:55.340 Any, like I said, that's all I'm going to comment on that.

00:04:58.620 If you have any hockey questions, I would answer those.

00:05:03.220 Can you just kind of fire your religion?

00:05:05.200 Hmm?

00:05:05.480 Can you just kind of fire your religion?

00:05:06.920 Russian Orthodox.

00:05:08.940 Russian Orthodox.

00:05:09.660 So, Pravarov cites his religious beliefs as a reason to decline participation in Pride Night.

00:05:16.080 He's asked which religion he belongs to. 0.98

00:05:18.520 And rather than responding by saying something like, none of your business, you god-awful parasite, which would have been, you know, he would have been perfectly justified in responding that way. 0.98

00:05:27.220 But he instead answers and says that he's Russian Orthodox. 0.96

00:05:30.400 Now, this is obviously a very good and very valid reason to say no to Pride Night.

00:05:37.420 But any reason would have been just as good.

00:05:42.260 Okay?

00:05:42.640 We should be really clear about this.

00:05:44.020 He could have just said that he didn't wear the rainbow uniform because he thinks the colors are ugly.

00:05:48.980 Or because he just didn't feel like it.

00:05:51.380 Or because he finds it absolutely bizarre and deranged that he's being asked to express pride in other people's sexual preferences.

00:05:59.960 He could have said, I don't even know what it means to express pride in someone else's sexual preferences.

00:06:04.720 That emotion doesn't even, like, make sense to me.

00:06:07.340 I don't know what you mean.

00:06:09.160 He could have said that.

00:06:09.860 Literally any reason would be valid.

00:06:14.280 Because there is no valid reason for a team to ask a player to participate in this kind of stunt in the first place. 0.94

00:06:22.300 It's bizarre enough that gay people have their own flag. 0.80

00:06:26.200 And, I mean, having your own flag for sexual orientations, of course, not just one flag, it's many. 0.86

00:06:31.380 That's bizarre enough.

00:06:33.640 Marching around announcing your sexuality to the world is also bizarre enough. 0.88

00:06:37.380 But it's absolutely psychotic that people who are not gay would be expected to participate in this kind of charade.

00:06:45.060 The point is that Pravorov doesn't owe an explanation to anyone.

00:06:50.360 Much less does he have to actually tell them what his religion is.

00:06:54.300 What needs to be explained and defended, but can't be, is the existence of pride night in the first place.

00:07:00.780 But that's not how the media sees the situation.

00:07:04.020 Of course, to them, his refusal to adorn himself with the rainbow flag is an unspeakable act of apostasy.

00:07:11.460 So sports writer Marcus Hayes over at the Philadelphia Inquirer, along with many other media personalities, he's echoing, you know, the sentiments of so many.

00:07:19.860 He demanded that the player be benched for this infraction.

00:07:22.540 Hayes wrote in his column, quote, let's not complicate the issue.

00:07:26.040 Pravorov refused to warm up Tuesday night against Anaheim because he does not support the right of LGBTQ plus people to even exist.

00:07:34.820 He cites his devotion to the Russian Orthodox Church in his in his eyes.

00:07:38.640 Their life is a sin about that.

00:07:42.060 Patriarch Kirill, the church's leader in Russia and reportedly a former KGB agent, in May justified Russia's invasion of Ukraine because Ukraine allows gay pride parades.

00:07:51.140 And if Russia and other homophobic states do not oppress LGBTQ plus persons, then human civilization will end there.

00:07:58.640 This is homophobia at its most extreme. 0.95

00:08:01.260 If you subscribe to this belief, you are a homophobe. 0.91

00:08:04.760 A little rainbow tape on Pravorov's hockey stick wasn't going to send him to hell.

00:08:09.700 So yes, if the Flyers were staunch in their advocacy, Pravorov should have been benched.

00:08:13.960 From its Hockey is for Everyone initiative to hosting a transgender and non-binary hockey tournament,

00:08:18.940 the NHL has spent millions of dollars in the past decade to erase its image as a non-inclusive, racist, homophobic business

00:08:25.700 that prefers straight white players to entertain a straight white audience.

00:08:29.240 The Flyers have been leaders in this initiative, and they shined all day and night Tuesday.

00:08:34.440 In addition to the warm-up jerseys, the team held a pre-game skate for LGBTQ plus youth,

00:08:39.280 provided complimentary tickets for members of nine LGBTQ plus organizations to attend the game,

00:08:44.180 and hosted a meet and greet with players.

00:08:45.840 And then Pravorov.

00:08:48.140 Pravorov's refusal came from his dedication to an oppressive religion, apparently.

00:08:54.040 I like the apparently at the end.

00:08:56.340 So he makes all of these wild assertions that are not grounded in reality at all.

00:09:01.900 And at the very end, he says, apparently.

00:09:04.840 As if that makes it okay.

00:09:06.540 Yes, let's not complicate the issue, says Hayes.

00:09:10.880 Let's not complicate it by being reasonable, sane adults.

00:09:14.760 When instead, we could engage in spittle-flecked, half-drunk temper tantrums,

00:09:20.320 which are then somehow published in the newspaper.

00:09:23.500 But Hayes' perspective appears to be shared by the majority of the hockey media and others who work around and in the sport.

00:09:29.760 Here's a very brief sampling of a couple of tweets.

00:09:32.400 Matt Larkin, I don't know who any of these people are, but apparently they work, you know, in the hockey world.

00:09:37.260 Matt Larkin tweeted,

00:09:38.400 This is on the Flyers as much as it's on Pravorov.

00:09:41.060 One, host Pride Night.

00:09:42.400 Two, learn of a player whose religion preaches hate toward the community supported by Pride Night.

00:09:46.400 Three, learn that that player rejects Pride Night.

00:09:49.240 Four, let him play on Pride Night.

00:09:51.800 What a slap in the face.

00:09:53.040 Aaron Ambrose wrote,

00:09:56.080 Let me get this straight.

00:09:57.060 You have a player that openly declines to participate in an inclusive initiative for a community I am proud to be a part of,

00:10:03.340 and you still dress him in the game?

00:10:05.760 Be better, NHL Flyers.

00:10:08.820 Charlie O'Connor says,

00:10:09.740 The whole point of a team wearing Pride jerseys is to send a unified message that LGBTQ people who like the Flyers are seen and welcomed.

00:10:18.160 That the team supports them and has their back.

00:10:20.260 Provorov made it abundantly clear that he didn't want to see or welcome that group of fans.

00:10:26.780 Meanwhile, on the NHL network, an analyst said that if Provorov is a Russian Orthodox and he doesn't want to take part in a Pride parade,

00:10:34.360 then he should just go back to Russia.

00:10:37.100 And Ivan Provorov can get on a plane any day he wants and go back to a place where he feels more comfortable,

00:10:44.160 take less money, and get on with his life that way.

00:10:47.000 If it's that problematic for him, and he's been in North America for a long time,

00:10:52.060 he played in the Western Hockey League, he's now been in Philadelphia for many years,

00:10:56.280 if this is that much of a problem for him to maybe assimilate into his group of teammates and in the community and here in this country,

00:11:04.100 that's okay, listen, you can feel any way you want.

00:11:06.140 But the beauty is, if it bothers you that much, there's always a chance to leave, go back where you feel more comfortable.

00:11:13.440 I understand there's a conflict of sorts going on over there.

00:11:16.080 Maybe get involved.

00:11:19.660 Go back where you came from is now a perfectly acceptable response, not xenophobic at all, apparently, 0.98

00:11:26.620 provided you're speaking to a white man and the sin the white man committed is that he isn't gay enough. 0.98

00:11:33.120 But then you can say that. 0.98

00:11:34.360 But only a white man.

00:11:35.300 I mean, by the way, if this was a player from Uganda,

00:11:40.140 so let me, I don't know, there probably aren't a lot of hockey players from Uganda.

00:11:42.540 If this was a basketball player from Uganda or something, and it was a similar situation,

00:11:46.500 I can guarantee you that that dude, that doofus, would not be on TV saying,

00:11:54.100 if you don't like it, why don't you go back to Uganda? 1.00

00:11:58.160 But it's okay, because he's from Russia originally, so you can say that.

00:12:02.020 Elsewhere in media, another sports journalist was, I mean, he was practically in tears over this issue.

00:12:07.360 And this rant goes on for like three minutes.

00:12:10.240 We'll only play just a quick sample of it.

00:12:12.080 Here it is.

00:12:12.400 The theme from the National Hockey League is hockey is for everyone, okay?

00:12:19.480 The theme is not hockey is for everyone, dot, dot, dot,

00:12:23.500 unless you don't believe in gay rights, then do whatever you want.

00:12:28.240 If the National Hockey League is going to do this, if any league is going to do this,

00:12:32.260 do it properly or reevaluate what you're doing.

00:12:37.240 Because there's not a lot of repercussions that I'm seeing from any league.

00:12:41.420 Now, it could change with the NHL.

00:12:43.500 It could change with the NHL.

00:12:44.420 I think you find the Flyers a million dollars for this.

00:12:46.280 I'm not kidding.

00:12:47.480 Figure this out and stop offending people on nights where it's not about that.

00:12:51.180 It's supposed to be about inclusivity.

00:12:53.160 The National Hockey League need to attack this and figure this out.

00:12:58.780 Because what I heard last night was offensive and didn't make any sense.

00:13:02.940 Because, for instance, if that was a military night, okay, if anyone in Canada or in the States

00:13:09.580 on a military appreciation night wouldn't wear a jersey pregame, do you have any idea

00:13:14.320 the uproar that would have happened on that?

00:13:16.360 Well, I'm glad you brought that up because I do have something.

00:13:20.540 I do actually have an idea of the response.

00:13:23.760 And we know that if someone didn't show appreciation for the military or didn't want to show appreciation

00:13:31.160 for the United States, didn't want to be patriotic, these very same people in the media would be

00:13:37.680 defending and celebrating that person as a hero.

00:13:40.300 And we know this for a fact because that's exactly what happened, of course, with Colin Kaepernick.

00:13:45.800 The only difference is that the military fights for our country, which means they fight for all of us,

00:13:51.660 provided the military is being properly utilized and not being sent overseas to fight battles

00:13:55.860 that have nothing to do with us.

00:13:57.260 But, I mean, that's a subject for another day.

00:13:59.400 The point is that when we show appreciation for the military, what we're doing is we're showing

00:14:03.800 appreciation for the service that it provides to the country, notwithstanding the way that

00:14:08.940 the military is abused by the bureaucrats.

00:14:12.340 So that's the idea of the military, right?

00:14:16.060 Well, what service has the LGBT cult provided? 1.00

00:14:20.840 What are we supposed to be appreciative of?

00:14:24.160 Appreciation night for LGBT?

00:14:25.380 Why?

00:14:25.920 Why should I appreciate them?

00:14:28.060 What have they ever done for me or for you or for anyone?

00:14:31.700 What exactly has the LGBT club, what have they done for the country?

00:14:36.320 What service are they providing?

00:14:37.920 What are we thanking them for again?

00:14:41.360 I mean, I'm asking the question.

00:14:42.640 If you're saying it, well, you're going to have appreciation.

00:14:44.460 Okay, for what?

00:14:46.300 I mean, I'm sure, look, I am perfectly, I believe in gratitude.

00:14:49.240 I believe in, I think gratitude is an underrated virtue.

00:14:53.560 So I, if you're telling me you should be grateful for this person or this group, great.

00:14:57.820 Tell me why.

00:14:59.820 You should be grateful for LGBT people. 0.99

00:15:01.520 Okay, because we're thanking them for having sex with each other. 0.98

00:15:08.040 I mean, that's what we're supposed to appreciate. 0.89

00:15:10.060 That's what you want Ivan Pravarov to be proud of?

00:15:14.840 You want him to be proud of that?

00:15:16.640 Again, what does that mean?

00:15:19.920 If you're a heterosexual and you're expressing gay pride, what, you're proud of someone else's sexual activity? 0.69

00:15:27.760 It doesn't make sense to start with.

00:15:33.900 Oh, but it's not about that, they say.

00:15:35.480 It's about showing respect. 0.81

00:15:38.060 If you don't wear the pride flag, you don't respect gay people. 0.75

00:15:40.800 All right, then. 0.98

00:15:42.580 Cool.

00:15:42.860 So then, if you don't wear a crucifix and proclaim Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior, you don't respect Christians.

00:15:51.340 Indeed, if you don't actively engage in demonstrative acts of Christian worship, you not only don't respect Christians, but you don't think we have a right to exist. 0.97

00:16:03.220 Your refusal to wear a cross around your neck is a statement that you want all Christians killed in a genocide. 0.80

00:16:10.240 Is that how this works now? 0.98

00:16:11.220 If you're not actively participating in some group's event, then you hate them.

00:16:21.120 That's how it works, evidently, but only for the LGBT cult. 1.00

00:16:24.900 It's been given pride of place.

00:16:27.740 And, you know, it's a special case.

00:16:29.940 Because LGBT is indeed the state religion.

00:16:33.860 And the state religion demands participation.

00:16:36.280 Remember, this is the process.

00:16:37.880 We've talked about this before.

00:16:38.760 Remember, this is the trajectory for all things where the left is involved.

00:16:44.220 It always goes this way.

00:16:46.260 First, you're made to tolerate.

00:16:47.720 And then you're made to celebrate.

00:16:51.460 And then you're made to participate.

00:16:54.980 First, you must merely, you know, put up with.

00:16:59.100 Even if you object to it, you're supposed to just put up with it and not say anything and not object.

00:17:03.820 You know, acquiescence, basically.

00:17:06.580 And that's the first step.

00:17:07.680 And then as soon as they get everyone on board with that, they say, well, no, that's not enough.

00:17:11.500 You also have to applaud.

00:17:12.380 We need you to really actually applaud.

00:17:15.280 And then, even after you're applauding, they say, no, no, we need you out there.

00:17:19.060 You need to be in the game, okay, participating.

00:17:21.720 You have to involve yourself in what they're doing.

00:17:23.980 And with the LGBT cult, we have long since reached this third stage of participation, involvement. 1.00

00:17:34.620 It's that we are way past you'll be made to care.

00:17:37.240 Now it's you'll be made to be a participant in.

00:17:41.840 And that was inevitable ever since we started on the first stage.

00:17:46.280 Just put up with don't say anything, don't object, don't express your own viewpoints.

00:17:51.560 We should have said no back then.

00:17:53.980 Some of us did, but not enough.

00:17:56.500 So we better start saying it now.

00:17:59.680 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:18:06.840 If you own a business, you know, the past few years have been a bumpy ride, to put it mildly,

00:18:11.000 from COVID lockdowns to Biden inflation, you could probably use a break.

00:18:14.180 And innovation refunds can help.

00:18:15.980 If your business has five or more employees and managed to survive COVID,

00:19:06.920 Well, I know I already said this, but I just want to say again, if you'll forgive me for

00:19:12.720 being sappy and sincere for a moment, thank you to everyone who's been praying for my

00:19:17.540 family, for my wife and the babies.

00:19:19.360 And I know there were a lot of you out there keeping us in your prayers, and I'm very grateful

00:19:23.260 for it.

00:19:24.200 And I'm not going to get into a lot of details, but I will say that your prayers ended up

00:19:27.500 being, as prayers always are, but in this case, especially important, even more than

00:19:32.560 I anticipated, because the delivery was complicated.

00:19:35.120 They had to do an emergency C-section to get the second baby, to deliver the second baby. 0.65

00:19:40.420 And not an ideal scenario when you got to go into a C-section in the middle of a delivery

00:19:44.800 of twins.

00:19:45.800 So quite a scary situation for several moments there.

00:19:49.180 But fortunately, everything worked out okay.

00:19:50.440 As mentioned, the babies are healthy.

00:19:51.680 My wife is healthy and recovering.

00:19:53.960 And the babies are also, I'm pleased to say, quite opinionated, like their old man.

00:20:00.960 They take after me.

00:20:02.740 They've enjoyed sharing their opinions with us.

00:20:05.120 In the form of crying quite a bit.

00:20:07.340 Very much like adult leftists.

00:20:09.040 You know, newborn infants and adult leftists tend to communicate in similar ways.

00:20:13.260 And the first night back from the hospital, you know, the babies took turns sharing their

00:20:18.940 opinions with us all night.

00:20:20.640 One would cry and then fall asleep, and then the other would take a shift.

00:20:24.620 So there was kind of a shift.

00:20:25.760 There was a divide and conquering thing where they said, okay, now it's your turn.

00:20:28.440 And they were just passing the baton back and forth the entire night, divide and conquer.

00:20:33.680 So it's a method we're obviously familiar with, this being our second set of twins.

00:20:38.180 But there's an added twist now of trying to keep track of which baby is which.

00:20:44.680 Because our first set were fraternal, and these are identical.

00:20:47.320 So this has been a very fun wrinkle.

00:20:51.420 And especially late at night when you're sleep deprived and it's dark.

00:20:54.580 And you're like, wait, which baby is this again?

00:20:57.000 And I've suggested, you know, there's like different solutions to the problem of how do you keep

00:21:01.360 the kids apart when they're identical twins.

00:21:04.300 And by the way, identical, I don't know if you knew this, because this came as a little bit of a surprise to me.

00:21:10.060 Identical twin means like they're literally identical.

00:21:13.120 They actually look exactly the same.

00:21:14.440 I guess I knew that, but then it's different when you actually have kids.

00:21:20.080 And we were examining, we're looking at the way they're, you know, even things like how their ears are shaped.

00:21:23.780 And can we see a difference there?

00:21:25.600 No, 100% the same, which is pretty amazing.

00:21:28.900 So we've had different ideas for keeping everything, keeping track of everything.

00:21:34.400 One solution that I had suggested was, well, what if we just give them the same name?

00:21:40.540 And then there's no way, then it doesn't matter.

00:21:43.240 There's no way to get whatever name we use.

00:21:45.420 We know it's the right one.

00:21:46.920 So that was, look, it's just a brainstorm is all.

00:21:49.120 You're throwing ideas out there.

00:21:51.780 Now, admittedly, when you are sleep deprived in the middle of the night, babies are crying.

00:21:54.600 It's not always the best brainstorming environment, I will admit.

00:22:00.020 But that idea was shot down, frowned upon by the family and probably will be frowned upon by society.

00:22:04.640 So I'm sure we'll figure it out as we, and we just have to deal with the fact that this is something that the twins, as they get older, the identical thing.

00:22:13.820 I'm quite sure they're going to be exploiting that to no end.

00:22:17.140 I would if I was them.

00:22:18.520 I mean, I couldn't blame them.

00:22:20.920 All right.

00:22:23.200 Let's begin with this.

00:22:24.680 This is hot off the presses.

00:22:26.000 I just saw this story come across my desk in that I just, it popped up on Twitter, actually.

00:22:32.700 So this is the headline from The Wall Street Journal.

00:22:35.280 Alec Baldwin to be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the Rust shooting.

00:22:40.800 I'm just reading this now for the first time.

00:22:42.400 It says, prosecutors plan to charge Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the set of the movie Rust in New Mexico in 2021.

00:22:52.180 The district attorney in Santa Fe said on Thursday, the film's armor overseeing weapons, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, will also be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the incident, according to a statement from Santa Fe area district attorney, Mary Karmick Altwise.

00:23:06.580 The charges are expected to be filed by the end of the month.

00:23:08.560 And that's not all.

00:23:10.960 The film's first assistant director, David Hulls, has agreed to plead guilty to the charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon, according to the statement.

00:23:19.120 And, of course, the shooting occurred on the set of the low-budget Western outside Santa Fe, New Mexico, in October 2021.

00:23:24.280 So it's been well over a year.

00:23:28.600 During preparations for a scene, Mr. Baldwin discharged a live round from a revolver, killing 42-year-old Helena Hutchins.

00:23:34.720 The film's director, Joel Souza, was wounded.

00:23:39.280 And in New Mexico, involuntary manslaughter is a fourth-degree felony that carries a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison.

00:23:46.200 Which is absurd, by the way.

00:23:47.540 Only 18 months in prison?

00:23:49.580 That's the maximum.

00:23:51.600 My God.

00:23:52.080 The maximum for killing someone, the most you could expect to get, is a year and a half in prison.

00:23:58.620 And we know, with near certainty, that Alec Baldwin will not be, he probably will not spend a day in prison with him, I guess.

00:24:05.400 He's going to plead down and get probation or something like that.

00:24:09.860 The fact that they even, it took them a year, over a year, almost a year and a half to even decide to charge him.

00:24:17.160 We can, we can be pretty sure that if any one of us were in a similar situation, it would not have taken that long.

00:24:24.420 And we'd probably be facing steeper charges than that.

00:24:28.380 And I say this as someone who, yeah, I'm not even as, like, there are some people who want to fully throw the book at Alec Baldwin and give him, like, first-degree murder charges.

00:24:40.920 And I've never advocated that, because I do think that the blame here is, it's not just Alec Baldwin.

00:24:47.740 I do think he obviously shares the blame with other people on the set.

00:24:53.120 And you're handed a gun, and someone says, apparently, what happened?

00:24:57.000 They handed him the gun.

00:24:57.480 They said it was a cold gun, meaning that it's not loaded with a live round.

00:25:01.800 And he was handed, and he was told that.

00:25:04.760 Now, he's still supposed to check it, especially before pulling the trigger.

00:25:09.980 But you share the blame.

00:25:12.120 I think a manslaughter charge makes sense.

00:25:14.040 But 18 months in prison as a maximum for killing someone is completely absurd.

00:25:19.680 Especially because, again, we know that he's not actually going to most likely serve that time.

00:25:25.820 All right.

00:25:27.440 Daily Wire headline.

00:25:28.420 Again, Al Gore goes on unhinged climate rant, condemns detainment of Greta Thunberg.

00:25:35.120 Former Vice President Al Gore ranted about climate change during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland,

00:25:40.400 and condemned the purported detainment of activist Greta Thunberg.

00:25:43.300 Of course, that detainment was entirely inact, and that was all fake.

00:25:48.360 Anyway, it was all a pageant, which is all that Greta Thunberg ever does. 1.00

00:25:51.920 The former Democratic presidential candidate said in an impassioned Jeremiah at the conference

00:25:56.420 that carbon emissions are raising the temperatures of the troposphere, the part of the atmosphere

00:26:00.980 that contains oxygen, to an unsustainable degree.

00:26:03.220 He claimed that increased emissions are linked to extreme weather events and the apparent boiling

00:26:07.240 of the oceans.

00:26:09.060 We have that clip.

00:26:10.120 Let's listen to that.

00:26:11.860 When are we going to bring these emissions down?

00:26:14.800 And just to put the science in a slightly different context, people are familiar with that thin blue line

00:26:23.080 that the astronauts bring back in their pictures from space.

00:26:27.480 That's the part of the atmosphere that has oxygen, the troposphere.

00:26:33.260 And it's only five to seven kilometers thick.

00:26:37.280 That's what we're using as an open sewer. 0.99

00:26:39.580 If you could drive a car straight up in the air at interstate highway speeds, you'd get

00:26:44.100 to the top of that blue line in five minutes, and all the greenhouse gas pollution would

00:26:48.980 be below you.

00:26:49.620 We're still putting 162 million tons into it every single day, and the accumulated amount

00:26:55.060 is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic

00:27:01.760 bombs exploding every single day on the earth.

00:27:04.140 That's what's boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers and the rain bombs

00:27:09.300 and sucking the moisture out of the land and creating the droughts and melting the ice

00:27:13.700 and raising the sea level and causing these waves of climate refugees predicted to reach 1.00

00:27:18.660 one billion in this century.

00:27:20.660 Look at the xenophobia and political authoritarian trends that have come from just a few million

00:27:26.400 refugees.

00:27:27.360 What about a billion?

00:27:28.340 We would lose our capacity for self-governance on this world.

00:27:32.000 We have to act.

00:27:34.540 So in answer to your question, I would say we have to have a sense of urgency much greater

00:27:39.720 than we have yet had, and we need to make some changes.

00:27:45.840 Yeah.

00:27:47.120 The oceans are boiling.

00:27:48.820 I don't know if you knew that.

00:27:50.200 I didn't know that.

00:27:51.120 I didn't know the oceans are boiling because that's, what's the word for it?

00:27:53.980 Insane.

00:27:54.500 That's an insane claim to make.

00:27:55.740 The oceans are not boiling.

00:27:56.580 Just so you know, just so you know, by the way, in order for the oceans to boil, you

00:28:02.560 would need, we would need an average temperature on Earth of, I guess, 212 degrees, probably

00:28:10.080 a little bit more than that, actually, because I think the boiling point for salt water is

00:28:13.020 slightly higher.

00:28:14.320 So it would need to be, we need to be over 200 degrees before we get to the point where

00:28:18.020 we got to worry about the oceans boiling.

00:28:19.180 And, of course, if we got anywhere near that temperature, then the oceans boiling would

00:28:24.220 somehow actually be the least of our concerns because we'd, well, in fact, we'd already

00:28:28.000 be dead. 0.94

00:28:29.360 Most life on Earth would be dead if we got anywhere near that average temperature.

00:28:34.520 And you hear things like that, and you might want to assume, if you don't, if you really

00:28:39.180 don't know any better, you haven't been paying attention at all, you might hear that and

00:28:42.880 say, well, he's being metaphorical, or this is like poetic license, hyperbole.

00:28:49.180 No, none of this is meant to be seen as hyperbole, or as metaphor, or making a vivid illustration.

00:28:58.320 This is all supposed to be taken literally.

00:29:00.220 And so when they say that, and he's not the first person to make this claim about boiling

00:29:03.480 oceans, you are supposed to actually imagine in your mind the Pacific Ocean looking like

00:29:10.240 a tea kettle, a giant tea kettle.

00:29:12.020 That's what you're supposed to imagine.

00:29:13.040 And we often say about these people, Al Gore and all the rest, Greta Thunberg and all the

00:29:21.760 rest of them, that these are doomsday prophets.

00:29:26.240 And it's very similar in a lot of ways.

00:29:28.940 This is part of the modern day, you know, the new American state religion. 0.51

00:29:33.560 And so, and many religions have their own doomsday prophets.

00:29:38.400 This is, this is, this, and these are ours, our doomsday prophets.

00:29:43.140 And there are a lot of interesting similarities between these doomsday prophets and the doomsday

00:29:49.300 prophets of old, especially the ones that were more directly religious.

00:29:52.100 All the various doomsday cults that have popped up over, over the years, especially modern society.

00:30:00.600 And one of the, one of the through lines here, one of the similarities with, with these doomsday

00:30:07.240 people is that they make these predictions.

00:30:10.720 The world's going to end at this point because this and this are going to happen.

00:30:14.660 Like, here's, here's what's going to happen.

00:30:16.000 And this is how we'll know the world's about to end and then it will end.

00:30:18.760 And they make these prophecies and these predictions and they don't come to pass.

00:30:24.200 But the doomsday prophet never admits that and says, oh my gosh, I was wrong about that.

00:30:29.700 Thank God I was wrong about that.

00:30:31.060 Turns out we're okay.

00:30:31.800 They never do that.

00:30:33.220 All they do is just change, you know, they move the goalpost.

00:30:40.260 And in increasingly absurd ways, there was that, I forget the name of the doomsday prophet

00:30:45.500 10 years ago or so, who said that there was going to be a rap, he gave an actual date for

00:30:50.740 the rapture.

00:30:51.460 He said on this date, there's going to be a rapture and you're going to see people floating

00:30:55.940 up into heaven. 0.98

00:30:57.020 And if you're left behind, you're screwed. 0.57

00:30:59.080 And then the day came and nobody was floating. 0.58

00:31:02.380 And so then the goalposts moved and he said, oh, it was a spiritual rapture.

00:31:07.560 So you didn't see it was invisible.

00:31:08.860 It was an invisible rapture.

00:31:11.120 And you thought, well, what does that mean?

00:31:12.140 Does that mean that some people, their souls left up to heaven, but their bodies are still

00:31:15.140 walking around?

00:31:17.540 Well, the climate change alarmists do a very similar thing.

00:31:20.640 Keep moving the goalposts.

00:31:21.620 Now, all that said, so that, you know, we say that they're doomsday prophets, it's like

00:31:26.500 a religion, religious doomsday cult thing.

00:31:29.800 And it is that, but it's also not just that.

00:31:33.680 There's something even more sinister brimming below all of this, which is that this is,

00:31:40.520 you know, an anti-human conspiracy.

00:31:44.360 There's a reason why they're saying all of this and why they want you to believe that

00:31:47.980 the oceans are boiling and that we're all on the verge of global destruction.

00:31:55.360 It's because they want to make you afraid so that they can control you, which is a tale

00:32:01.680 as old as time from tyrants.

00:32:03.740 They make you afraid and then they exploit the fear.

00:32:06.240 We saw the same thing with COVID.

00:32:07.220 We see the same thing with the tyrants who run our civilization in many different, you

00:32:13.440 know, manifestations, but this is a, this is really a, a global conspiracy among governments

00:32:22.920 across the world and to make us terrified that the end is nigh so that we will surrender,

00:32:35.180 you know, control over our everyday lives, which is what makes things like, I don't mean

00:32:41.560 to bring the gas stove discourse back, but it's what makes things like the gas stove important

00:32:48.120 because that's no small thing.

00:32:53.220 And if it is small, it's, it's the fact that it's small that makes it significant because

00:32:58.840 that is the, that is how detailed they want to be in their control over our lives.

00:33:05.340 It's like every aspect, even the way that you, the tool that you use in your house to

00:33:12.060 boil water, to make pasta, they want to control that too.

00:33:15.800 They want control over that.

00:33:18.720 And if they want to control those little smaller things, then, then certainly it's the bigger

00:33:23.640 things they want to control most of all.

00:33:26.680 Right.

00:33:27.140 Here's a headline from the Daily Wire. 0.99

00:33:29.700 Gay couple allegedly pimped out and made child porn with adopted children. 0.98

00:33:35.340 This is a very difficult story to read. 0.97

00:33:38.200 It's one of the most horrifying news stories I've ever seen, but here is the, the story

00:33:47.460 anyway.

00:33:48.260 A shocking investigation has reportedly uncovered disturbing new details about a gay activist

00:33:52.460 couple in Georgia who are charged with raping their adopted sons and pimping them out to 0.96

00:33:57.240 a local LGBTQ pedophile ring. 0.96

00:33:59.760 A months-long town hall, town hall investigation published Tuesday viewed, uh, recorded jailhouse

00:34:06.700 calls and new court documents and spoke exclusively to a family member revealing that the alleged

00:34:11.360 sexual abuse went much deeper than previously reported.

00:34:14.020 The investigation will have three more installments according to town hall.

00:34:17.640 The married couple, William Dale Zulock Jr., 33, is a government worker.

00:34:22.140 His husband, Zachary Jacobi Zulock, 35, a banker, were arrested last summer on charges of sodomizing

00:34:29.180 their two elementary age sons and prostituting the children.

00:34:32.700 They were indicted by a grand jury on charges of incest, aggravated sodomy, aggravated child

00:34:37.780 molestation, felony sexual exploitation of children, and felony prostitution of a minor.

00:34:43.080 If convicted, they face more than nine life sentences each.

00:34:46.280 Both men have pleaded not guilty.

00:34:47.580 Um, let me get into some of the details.

00:34:52.880 The Zulocks adopted the brothers now nine and eleven from a Christian special needs adoption

00:34:56.440 agency.

00:34:58.060 Before their arrest, the couple lived in a fluent life in Oxford, Georgia, in Atlanta

00:35:01.760 suburb.

00:35:02.240 The children were enrolled in third and fourth grade when their, um, adoptive fathers were

00:35:07.100 arrested. 0.55

00:35:07.520 According to a 17-count indictment, the two men allegedly performed oral sex on both their 0.99

00:35:11.680 adoptive sons, forced the boys to perform oral sex on them. 0.99

00:35:15.240 Uh, they raped their sons anally at least once. 1.00

00:35:18.880 The older boy was allegedly injured from the rape. 0.99

00:35:22.840 The sexual abuse allegedly began in late 2019 and became worse in 2021. 0.98

00:35:28.640 Williams has since admitted to forcing his 11-year-old son to perform oral copulation on him. 0.89

00:35:34.300 Um, in a sworn affidavit, he admitted this.

00:35:36.440 Uh, I can't even keep reading this.

00:35:40.920 Uh, it's an important report from Town Hall and you can go and you can, and this is, as

00:35:45.700 I said, there are multiple installments of it.

00:35:47.540 Uh, and, and it's, it's good that Town Hall is following this story.

00:35:52.200 The Daily Wire is following it because we know that this is the kind of story that, uh, the

00:35:58.180 corporate media is not interested in.

00:36:01.080 Uh, they, uh, this is not something they want to talk about.

00:36:07.500 Especially when you, I mean, it's, it's bad enough for their narrative anyway, uh, that

00:36:12.760 the culprits here, uh, are, is a gay couple. 0.96

00:36:15.200 But then also when you, when you add in this LGBT pedophile ring, um, that just makes it 0.96

00:36:21.300 all the more certain that the corporate media is not going to want to talk about this.

00:36:25.720 What can we say about it?

00:36:26.920 Well, to begin with, public execution for both should, should be the penalty.

00:36:31.320 Uh, I just think every time I read someone who does something horrific like this and

00:36:37.700 then they get charged with multiple life sentences, every time I read that, it, it, it makes me

00:36:45.140 furious.

00:36:47.140 Not only because of what they've done, of course, but just the, the absurdity, this charade of

00:36:53.280 giving multiple, what the hell, who, multiple life sentences?

00:36:56.920 As if that's supposed to, oh no, now we're really serious.

00:36:59.800 Life in prison isn't enough.

00:37:01.580 So we all acknowledge that life in prison isn't enough for these demons.

00:37:05.540 And so we're not just going to give them life in prison.

00:37:07.620 We're going to give them nine lives in prison.

00:37:09.700 Well, if they were cats, then maybe that would mean something, but they're human beings.

00:37:14.060 And so they only have one life to live.

00:37:15.820 And you're not making the sentence any harsher by adding on life sentences.

00:37:19.380 It's totally symbolic.

00:37:20.480 And I think it's a, it's a, it's a grotesque, just mockery of justice because what they should

00:37:26.520 be doing, if you are admitting, if the justice system, the court system is admitting that

00:37:31.560 a life sentence is not enough of a punishment, which it isn't, then there is only one other

00:37:38.940 step up and it's not to add on, well, if we'll give them nine, we'll give them 50 life sentences.

00:37:43.620 That'll show them.

00:37:45.600 No, if the one life sentence is not enough of a punishment and we all seem to agree that it's not,

00:37:50.000 then the next step is execution.

00:37:55.780 And it should be done publicly and it should be done pretty quickly.

00:38:00.920 Charge them.

00:38:01.740 You convict them.

00:38:02.980 They're convicted.

00:38:04.880 You, you take them out, you take them out back shortly thereafter.

00:38:08.680 You parade them out.

00:38:09.420 You parade them out in front of a crowd.

00:38:11.260 You want a crowd there because we want them to know that this final disgrace of them being

00:38:17.980 killed, we want them to know that it's being seen.

00:38:20.940 We want them to know that.

00:38:23.180 And we want them to have that additional bit of suffering.

00:38:26.020 We want all the, we want all the suffering for them possible.

00:38:29.460 We want to cause them immense suffering.

00:38:32.540 Because that's justice.

00:38:35.540 And we also want society to see that.

00:38:37.860 We want society to see this is how we, this is what we do with people who treat kids this way. 0.78

00:38:44.480 Anyone else in the LGBT pedophile ring? 1.00

00:38:47.600 When we find you, this is what we're going to do to you. 0.97

00:38:53.220 So that's what it should be.

00:38:55.260 First of all.

00:38:57.440 And the second point is that this is not surprising.

00:38:59.780 This is horrifying, it's infuriating, it's evil, it's nauseating, it's disgusting, it's a lot of things.

00:39:08.340 But it's not surprising.

00:39:12.640 You're putting children into a disordered environment.

00:39:15.240 And when you do that, you can't be surprised by the horrible things that follow.

00:39:23.700 Look, children need a mom and a dad. 0.98

00:39:25.400 That's what children need.

00:39:26.280 They need a mom and a dad. 0.99

00:39:27.740 Children, every child has a mom and a dad.

00:39:31.600 Every child biologically has a mother and father.

00:39:33.700 Not every child has a mother and father who are willing to or able to care for them for whatever reason.

00:39:41.360 And so does that mean that we say, well, you know, your first, your biological set of mother and father didn't work out.

00:39:49.560 So we're just going to, so that whole arrangement, you don't need that.

00:39:53.960 We're going to do something else for you.

00:39:55.860 You know, we'll give you two dads or two moms or one mom or whatever. 0.96

00:39:58.300 You know, it's fine.

00:39:59.220 You'll settle for something else.

00:40:06.560 That cannot be the solution.

00:40:09.780 Now, yes, if you, can mother, father, couples, can they abuse their children? 0.80

00:40:17.200 Does that happen?

00:40:17.800 Of course it does.

00:40:20.820 But you want to give kids the best chance possible.

00:40:23.860 You want to put them in the most ideal possible situation to start with.

00:40:31.060 And horrific things will still happen even when you do that.

00:40:34.560 We all know that.

00:40:35.220 That's one of the, that's just, that's one of the terrible things about living in a fallen world.

00:40:39.580 But you still want to give kids the best chance possible.

00:40:44.880 Which means you give them a mother and a father.

00:40:46.380 And by the way, you know, and I made this point on Twitter and there were people pretending, as always, to be offended by it.

00:40:56.880 And yet, as always, you know, I say this and most other people, they listen, they know that I'm right, even if they won't say it out loud.

00:41:03.540 And the point is that I would not, I would, I would not hire a man to babysit my kids for two hours so that my wife and I can go out for dinner.

00:41:17.740 I would never do that.

00:41:18.840 Now, if there's a man who's a close family member, a close friend who I, who I know very well and trust, it's obviously different.

00:41:26.560 But I would not hire, when it comes to like hiring a babysitter, someone you don't really know, and you're hiring someone, this is what they do for a job, and you're bringing them in to watch your kids.

00:41:37.720 I wouldn't hire a man for that.

00:41:40.400 And almost no parent would or ever has.

00:41:45.220 So they could hear that and say, oh, that's, I don't, well, no, almost no parent would.

00:41:49.760 You know, you go on some babysitter service and, you know, you're looking for a nanny service or whatever it is.

00:41:54.960 And there's a lot of them out there.

00:41:57.660 And you're looking for someone to care for your kids.

00:41:59.800 If you see a man's profile come up, you're scrolling right past that one.

00:42:04.100 Almost everyone does.

00:42:07.240 Because, again, it's about, it's about putting your kid in any situation, in the most ideal possible situation.

00:42:12.900 You're playing the odds, you're looking at statistics.

00:42:17.340 And so, you know, almost no one would hire a male babysitter to babysit their kids.

00:42:23.680 And yet we're giving male couples kids to adopt.

00:42:32.660 Does that make sense?

00:42:34.620 Like, would you have hired these two guys to come watch your kids for a night?

00:42:39.040 If you were on, let's say you're on a, you know, babysitting nanny service or something.

00:42:43.180 Someone's recommended to you, maybe.

00:42:45.600 So, oh, you need a babysitter.

00:42:46.840 And you say, well, who you got?

00:42:47.600 And then they name these two 30-year-old men.

00:42:49.140 Would you, would you say, okay, I'll, yeah, I'll have them come babysit my kids for three hours.

00:42:54.720 Almost nobody would.

00:42:56.720 Whether they admit it out loud or not.

00:43:00.960 And yet we're giving, or adopting kids out to them.

00:43:06.020 All right.

00:43:06.960 Let's get to the comment section.

00:43:08.380 We're going to do something a little bit different for the comment section today.

00:43:21.180 It's been a week since I did a show.

00:43:22.740 So instead of reading comments from my last episode, instead I want to focus on something

00:43:26.560 that happened while I was away.

00:43:30.740 Some drama involving The Daily Wire, in fact.

00:43:34.920 And kind of the elephant in the room.

00:43:41.040 This is a segment of the show dedicated to the SBG.

00:43:45.120 And so it seems relevant to bring up the fact that there was a literal insurrection against

00:43:51.440 the SBG while I was away on my lengthy paternity leave,

00:43:56.160 trying to qualify to become the next Department of Transportation secretary.

00:43:59.740 The insurrection, which, by the way, was worse than January 6th at 9-11 in Pearl Harbor

00:44:04.680 and the COVID pandemic combined times three, was launched by none other than Candace Owens.

00:44:10.420 And Candace has apparently been attempting to start her own gang with her own fans. 1.00

00:44:17.280 And now she's soliciting her audience for suggestions in what to call her gang. 0.96

00:44:22.360 So she posted this to her page a few days ago.

00:44:24.840 Watch this.

00:44:26.420 Matt Walsh is my arch nemesis at The Daily Wire.

00:44:28.980 And we will continue this pursuit of trying to name my gang.

00:44:33.180 It's definitely not going to be cravings.

00:44:35.780 Please send in more suggestions.

00:44:37.280 Guys, you've got to get to the bottom of this.

00:44:38.520 I just feel like, you know, whenever I see Matt, I saw him yesterday.

00:44:40.960 He's walking around.

00:44:41.500 He's just super confident because he knows he's got this sweet baby gang.

00:44:44.300 I'm sick of watching him walk around like so Jordan Peterson lobster style

00:44:49.560 because he knows he's got this sweet baby gang behind him. 0.98

00:44:53.220 It's disgusting.

00:44:54.140 We've got to end this.

00:44:54.980 We need a gang name.

00:44:55.880 Send me suggestions.

00:44:57.740 Okay, now first of all, I didn't realize I was Candace's arch nemesis at the company.

00:45:01.920 My wife always tells me that I'm oblivious and not very observant of my surroundings.

00:45:06.100 So I guess it's, I mean, this is another example.

00:45:08.300 I became an arch nemesis without even noticing it.

00:45:11.020 That's fine.

00:45:11.480 But now trying to supplant the SPG, and I just want to read to you some of the suggestions

00:45:17.800 that her audience is coming up with for her gang.

00:45:22.300 And I'm not, I'm not making this up.

00:45:24.660 I'm on Candace Owens' Twitter, her podcast Twitter page.

00:45:27.360 And this is what they're suggesting.

00:45:29.120 Okay, so it makes, it's just conclusion.

00:45:31.900 Too long, didn't read.

00:45:33.520 Spoiler, we don't have anything to worry about.

00:45:36.220 Okay, the sweet baby gang is not being taken over.

00:45:38.500 So here's some of the suggestions.

00:45:39.280 Red Candied Black, The Hot Chocolate Gang, Sweet Candy Gang, The Empowered Pack, Candy's Kids,

00:45:50.440 Candy Crushers. 0.87

00:45:52.260 There's a lot of candy.

00:45:53.980 As far as I know, Candace doesn't go by candy, at least not in public.

00:45:57.900 So I don't know where this is coming from.

00:45:59.180 The Candy O's, The Candace Committee, Fierce Owens Posse, Lit Owens Legion,

00:46:05.180 Candace's Candy Crushers. 1.00

00:46:08.880 Okay, now, some of these sound like names my grandmother would come up with if she played

00:46:13.860 fantasy football.

00:46:15.380 Some of them sound like team names for some kind of god-awful team-building exercise at

00:46:19.960 like a Christian youth camp.

00:46:22.160 And some of them just sound creepy.

00:46:24.540 None of them hold a candle to the sweet baby gang.

00:46:26.820 So here's the thing, Candace.

00:46:29.060 You can't just, and I've tried to explain this, you can't just fabricate the magic of

00:46:34.000 the sweet baby gang.

00:46:34.780 You can't create it by committee or by pull.

00:46:38.380 The sweet baby gang formed organically out of the earth like a great tree.

00:46:43.480 You know, it grew from the soil and it became this something gigantic and formidable which

00:46:48.160 will live for thousands of years, will outlive any of us.

00:46:51.880 It was born, okay, the sweet baby gang was, much like a real baby.

00:46:57.820 It was conceived, it was given to us by the universe, not by a Twitter poll.

00:47:03.580 That's what you don't understand.

00:47:05.120 That's what nobody understands.

00:47:07.700 And it's why the SBG will live forever and never be defeated.

00:47:11.960 While Candy's kids will at best become the name of like a discount daycare center or something.

00:47:18.000 In conclusion, SBG for life.

00:47:21.880 This month, we are celebrating the anniversary of one of the greatest moments in Daily Wire

00:47:25.560 history after months of us leading the legal battle against the federal government and a

00:47:29.480 national do not comply campaign.

00:47:31.720 The Supreme Court ruled in our favor and blocked the Biden administration's outrageous vaccine

00:47:35.300 mandate.

00:47:35.940 This mandate would have set a dangerous precedent, giving the unelected OSHA power over the personal

00:47:39.960 medical decisions of American citizens.

00:47:41.460 The Supreme Court recognized this gross power grab and they made the right decision.

00:47:45.440 And we are so proud to have led the charge in this fight, but we could not have done it

00:47:48.520 without you.

00:47:49.000 Thousands of you joined the Daily Wire and over a million Americans signed our petition

00:47:52.960 against the mandates.

00:47:54.380 To celebrate, we're offering 40% off our annual memberships with the code DO NOT COMPLY.

00:47:58.840 So celebrate one of the greatest moments in Daily Wire history with 40% off your annual

00:48:02.920 membership.

00:48:03.960 Join now at dailywire.com slash subscribe and join the winning team as we continue to crush

00:48:08.860 the left.

00:48:09.320 Remember, do not comply for 40% off.

00:48:11.640 Do not comply.

00:48:13.100 Now let's get to our daily cancellation.

00:48:14.380 One objection I've often encountered over my years as a talking head, and this is something

00:48:24.240 that everyone in media hears ad nauseum, is that, you know, I spend too much time focused

00:48:29.980 on the negative.

00:48:31.260 Why don't you ever talk about positive things, the objector asks.

00:48:34.520 Why not spend time discussing encouraging and wholesome topics?

00:48:37.080 That's what I really want to hear about.

00:48:38.580 Now, the truth is that I do sometimes talk about positive things.

00:48:42.460 I do, in fact, spend time on my show and on other platforms discussing more lighthearted

00:48:46.460 and happier topics on occasion, at least lighthearted and happy to me.

00:48:50.420 But the people who demand such content are nowhere to be seen once it's provided, okay?

00:48:56.260 They don't say, hey, thanks for this.

00:48:57.500 It's just what I asked for.

00:48:59.140 Instead, they say nothing.

00:49:00.440 Because the truth is that they've probably changed the channel.

00:49:02.720 They've closed out the video.

00:49:03.900 Because the further truth is that they don't really want these more wholesome themes.

00:49:08.260 They say they do, but when they get it, they're bored.

00:49:11.900 That's part of the reason why you don't see more of the sort of cheerful and uplifting

00:49:16.080 content that so many people pretend to want, but rarely support whenever they get it.

00:49:20.440 But the other potential reason for a lack of such content is that when someone in the

00:49:26.860 public light shares an encouraging thought or a happy moment with the public, it is nearly

00:49:31.200 certain that he will be ripped to shreds by a million crazed vultures who seek to devour

00:49:35.880 happiness like scavengers on roadkill.

00:49:40.200 Now, the point here isn't just to whine and say, woe is me.

00:49:43.720 There's a larger point I want to make.

00:49:46.260 But case in point, consider the happy moment that I experienced and shared with the world

00:49:50.560 and have talked a little bit about on the show.

00:49:52.120 Late last week, the day after our twins were born, I announced the news on Twitter.

00:49:56.800 And since I'm a dad of six now, I can't help but include an extremely lame dad joke in moments

00:50:04.200 like this.

00:50:04.660 It's a compulsion.

00:50:06.140 And also, you might say a solemn responsibility to ruin a profound moment with a corny joke.

00:50:11.260 This is just, it's what we're supposed to do.

00:50:13.000 So I tweeted, kids number five and six were born last night.

00:50:16.360 The males in the family now outnumber the females five to three.

00:50:19.580 My master plan is complete.

00:50:20.980 Mom and babies are healthy and doing well.

00:50:22.340 Thank you for all your prayers.

00:50:23.160 That's what I said.

00:50:25.380 That's all I said.

00:50:27.160 The totally hilarious joke about the boys outnumbering the girls and the bit about how

00:50:31.000 I somehow planned this from the start is a version of a joke that approximately, I don't

00:50:35.200 know, 700,000 people have said to me whenever they find out that we're having two more boys.

00:50:39.440 In fact, it's the sort of battle of the sexes type joke that families with boys and girls 0.96

00:50:43.080 make all the time amongst each other.

00:50:45.260 It's all very normal.

00:50:47.100 But as we've seen, there is nothing that the internet hates more than normal, which is why

00:50:50.880 this tweet announcing the birth of my children attracted hundreds of outraged responses.

00:50:58.060 People outraged.

00:51:00.200 So to be clear, these are people who are actively mad about a stranger announcing the birth of

00:51:06.400 his children.

00:51:07.740 That emotion, okay, outrage over a birth announcement, it's an emotion that a healthy human being has

00:51:15.680 likely never felt.

00:51:16.760 It's an emotion not even available to a healthy person.

00:51:19.460 They wouldn't know how to generate that emotion if they wanted to.

00:51:23.980 And yet many people who are apparently capable of experiencing such an emotion or wish to

00:51:28.680 pretend that they experience it made their voices heard.

00:51:31.960 And I'm not going to go through and read them all.

00:51:34.120 Just suffice it to say again, hundreds of people, comments, sending me messages, very upset.

00:51:41.340 Wanting to, taking time, by the way.

00:51:42.640 It's like I just had kids.

00:51:43.560 It's like, let me, so here, it takes time to lecture me about, you know, the manner in which

00:51:48.520 I announce it, because I have time to really think about that.

00:51:52.180 So I think this one tweet, selected at random, is a fairly representative of the whole.

00:51:55.380 So this was the general tenor.

00:51:57.340 A woman responded, imagine your twins being born, and you tweet that your master plan of 1.00

00:52:02.160 having more boys than girls in a family is finally complete.

00:52:05.300 As the oldest of five girls, I am completely effing sick of men celebrating male babies as

00:52:10.160 inherently more valuable.

00:52:11.940 Very sorry for this man's daughters.

00:52:13.640 I think it's also worth singling out this other response, one other, from a woman who

00:52:18.360 pretends to be a reverend.

00:52:20.000 Reverend Kim Chafee tweeted, and reverend in quotes, reverend in, you know, big air quotes

00:52:24.900 there.

00:52:25.500 Kim Chafee tweeted, it might be humorous were it not for his patriarchal history and attitude

00:52:30.300 towards women.

00:52:31.400 Not appropriate.

00:52:32.540 Not funny.

00:52:34.480 By the way, this is a woman named Kim who responds to a joke like that by saying, not appropriate 0.99

00:52:41.280 or funny, you already have in your mind an image of what this person looks like, and it's

00:52:45.620 exactly that.

00:52:46.280 You're exactly right.

00:52:46.780 It's that.

00:52:47.260 It's that person.

00:52:49.040 And there are plenty more where these came from.

00:52:50.920 And this is to say nothing of the people who took the time to publicly wish that my children

00:52:54.040 turn out gay or trans.

00:52:55.360 That was another big response. 0.78

00:52:57.040 It's quite interesting, actually, that those who pretend to support gay and trans people 0.99

00:52:59.980 are also the ones most likely to accuse you of being gay or trans as an insult, or to 0.85

00:53:04.840 wish it on your children as a curse.

00:53:07.840 Now, over the following week, I posted a few more times about the birth.

00:53:10.420 Each time, I was rebuked for one reason or another, and always there followed many ill

00:53:15.960 wishes to me and my family and my newborn sons.

00:53:18.640 Most of this came from the left, but not all of it.

00:53:20.420 For instance, in response to a picture of me simply sitting and holding the babies, is

00:53:27.260 it?

00:53:28.460 And I don't usually post pictures of my kids online, but they're infants and you can barely

00:53:31.720 see them, so it's fine.

00:53:33.780 But a YouTuber from the Manosphere named Ryan Stone tweeted, showing off the F trophies

00:53:40.320 for clout.

00:53:41.700 F trophies like the F word, trophies.

00:53:43.520 That's what I was, the babies are trophies that I'm showing off for clout.

00:53:46.800 He then went on a multi-tweet tirade, complaining about men who take pictures with their own

00:53:51.560 children.

00:53:52.560 It's not manly, apparently.

00:53:54.460 To love your kids and be proud of them is not male.

00:53:57.440 It's perhaps not a surprise that a picture of a proud father would be so upsetting to the

00:54:00.480 sort of man who clearly never had one.

00:54:03.100 Now, all of this reached its happy oaths a few days ago when I answered a question about

00:54:11.800 whether I'd be taking a long paternity leave.

00:54:13.720 And I said in reply, and here I directly quote myself, I said, nope, I'll be back to work

00:54:20.000 in a couple of days.

00:54:21.320 That's what I said.

00:54:22.600 That was it.

00:54:23.800 I'll be back to work in a couple of days.

00:54:25.360 End of statement.

00:54:26.700 And yet, even that was offensive to some people and not a small number.

00:54:31.200 So here we can use this response as representative.

00:54:33.100 One man said, Matt, my man, I'm happy for you.

00:54:35.860 For real, congratulations.

00:54:37.080 Twins, a lot of work, a lot of fun.

00:54:38.600 Good luck.

00:54:39.200 You do know, I hope, that you could just be gracious and not dog whistle malign people 1.00

00:54:44.080 who take paternity leave.

00:54:46.580 Yes, to say when you're returning to work is to dog whistle malign men on paternity leave.

00:54:51.960 You can't even say when you're coming back to work without offending people who are not 0.83

00:54:55.660 coming back to work yet.

00:54:57.480 This is ludicrous for many reasons, beginning with the fact that I don't need a dog whistle

00:55:01.040 to malign anyone.

00:55:02.520 If I want to do it, I'll do it openly.

00:55:04.180 I think I've proved that, if nothing else, during my career.

00:55:07.580 Now, you might listen to all this and say, okay, sure.

00:55:10.520 Of course, this was the response you got.

00:55:12.000 It's the internet.

00:55:12.700 It's not real life.

00:55:13.760 That's just how people are on the internet.

00:55:15.520 Besides, the vast majority of people were encouraging and positive and congratulatory.

00:55:19.180 And these trolls are in the minority.

00:55:20.940 And on that latter point, I agree.

00:55:22.820 Most people have been very supportive, sending their well wishes and prayers.

00:55:25.440 And for that, as I said, I'm profoundly grateful.

00:55:28.160 As to the former, I certainly do not agree.

00:55:30.840 If many people are vicious and vile and insane on the internet, then they are, by definition,

00:55:37.020 vicious and vile and insane in real life.

00:55:39.420 Because the internet is real life.

00:55:42.020 It exists in reality.

00:55:43.860 It is used by people in reality.

00:55:46.760 So if you say something to somebody on the internet, you have said it to them in real

00:55:50.820 life.

00:55:52.220 This idea that it's some sort of dream or alternate dimension, it doesn't count, it doesn't make

00:55:59.340 sense.

00:55:59.860 It is a communication device.

00:56:02.360 Saying the internet isn't real life, it's like writing an insult on a piece of paper and

00:56:05.840 then handing it to someone and then telling them they have no right to be upset about it

00:56:09.560 because you didn't insult them in real life.

00:56:10.980 You only insulted them on the piece of paper.

00:56:14.100 Relax, man.

00:56:14.640 It's just a piece of paper.

00:56:16.940 Now, it's certainly true that many of the trolls who say heinous things on the internet

00:56:19.760 would never do it face to face.

00:56:21.640 Nobody would come up to me in person and say, for example, I hope your newborn children

00:56:25.940 end up being trans.

00:56:27.860 Nobody would do that.

00:56:29.420 I'm out in public all the time and nobody comes up to me and says anything like that

00:56:34.220 to my face.

00:56:35.700 Many have said it to me on the internet, never would say it to my face.

00:56:39.300 That, however, doesn't make the statement any less real and it also doesn't make it any 0.97

00:56:43.940 better because it just makes them cowards on top of being perverts and degenerates and 1.00

00:56:48.740 psychos. 1.00

00:56:50.380 But let me get to my real point.

00:56:52.000 And the real point isn't simply to just complain about people being mean and weird on the internet.

00:56:56.320 Instead, this has been, I think, yet another opportunity to learn a very valuable lesson

00:57:01.500 about the modern world, which is this, that many people hate happiness.

00:57:09.840 And this is really what lies at the root of the psychotic backlash that I received for

00:57:14.220 committing the sin of talking about my children in public.

00:57:17.720 I'm a family man and I'm happy in that role and I'm proud of my family.

00:57:21.080 That's why I talk about it.

00:57:22.440 And that makes certain people very upset.

00:57:25.700 Why?

00:57:26.860 Why do people get offended by that?

00:57:28.620 Why get offended by happiness?

00:57:29.980 Because they're deeply unhappy and miserable themselves and they take your happiness as

00:57:35.600 a personal affront.

00:57:37.460 You know, the adage about misery, loving company is true, but I think it's important to understand

00:57:41.340 why it's true.

00:57:42.740 That this sort of miserable, selfish person has given up on striving for anything better 0.98

00:57:48.060 in life.

00:57:48.460 Instead, they try to attain happiness by using this kind of bell curve method.

00:57:53.120 If they can drag everyone else down, if they can spread their misery around, then they'll

00:57:58.880 have increased their own happiness in comparison to the average.

00:58:03.360 It's like if you earn more money, you'll have made yourself richer.

00:58:06.280 But if you earn the same amount while everyone else loses money, you'll have closed the gap

00:58:11.080 between yourself and the richest person, thereby making yourself richer on average.

00:58:15.560 Many people in our culture choose the latter approach, both metaphorically and also literally

00:58:20.920 when it comes to money.

00:58:22.920 And of course, not all forms of happiness are equally as threatening to the miserable, 0.94

00:58:26.880 selfish person.

00:58:28.080 In fact, he'll be very encouraging to you if you are seeking pleasure in selfish pursuits,

00:58:33.060 or if you're doing things that are materialistic or shallow or, you know, that aren't that

00:58:36.300 meaningful, and you're happy about it and you talk about how you're happy about it.

00:58:40.840 These sorts of people, they'll be very encouraging about that.

00:58:42.820 They're happy, okay?

00:58:44.100 Because that is a non-threatening sort of happiness that you're experiencing.

00:58:52.020 But this sort of person is especially offended by the happiness you derive from good, true,

00:59:01.160 fulfilling things, from a life of service to your family.

00:59:03.840 That's the most offensive kind of happiness to them.

00:59:07.060 They hate that.

00:59:07.840 They really hate it.

00:59:10.160 That is the kind of happiness that this sort of person hates most of all.

00:59:13.760 Because he has told himself that that sort of happiness is impossible.

00:59:19.220 He's either childless and lonely, facing the prospect of dying alone and unloved,

00:59:23.820 trying to convince himself that this is the preferable option.

00:59:27.180 Or he has a family, but his family is broken and poisoned by resentment,

00:59:31.380 and his kids hate him, and his wife left him or whatever, or husband left him, if it's a man or woman.

00:59:35.860 And just everything's in shambles.

00:59:40.140 And they're trying to convince themselves that it's not their fault.

00:59:43.200 That this is always how it ends up with families.

00:59:46.340 All families end up this way.

00:59:48.800 Well, your happiness in your family life interferes with this mental narrative.

00:59:54.360 And so they will hate you for it.

00:59:58.200 They're trying to lie to themselves, and you're getting in the way of the lie.

01:00:03.460 And that's what lies at the root of all of this. 1.00

01:00:07.340 And it's why these pathetic, miserable wretches, 1.00

01:00:12.500 not to add insult to injury, 1.00

01:00:15.000 you know, not that they need any more,

01:00:16.420 but they are all canceled.

01:00:19.240 And that'll do it for this portion of the show.

01:00:21.000 As we move over to the members block,

01:00:22.740 hope to see you there.

01:00:23.500 If not, we'll talk to you tomorrow.

01:00:25.000 Godspeed.

01:00:25.320 Godspeed.
