The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1181 - Internal Documents Reveal How Fox News’ Betrayal Is Even Worse Than We Imagined

00:00:00.000 Today on The Matt Walsh Show, in our latest investigation, we've revealed internal documents from Fox showing just how deep the cultural rot at that company goes.

00:00:07.280 When it comes to corporate wokeism, Fox is one of the top offenders, and we'll talk about that today.

00:00:12.260 Also, a top official with Space Force admits that they prioritize inclusiveness and tolerance over actual merit and qualification.

00:00:18.720 Plus, Rolling Stone publishes its hit piece on me, and it's one of my favorite hit pieces of all time.

00:00:23.520 And the youth are finally rebelling against the Pride agenda.

00:00:26.160 This is a great sign for our country and the future.

00:00:28.420 We'll talk about all that and more today on The Matt Walsh Show.

00:00:39.520 Living a healthy lifestyle isn't always easy, especially when you're always on the go.

00:01:26.260 For 120 straight weeks, Fox News was the most watched cable news network in prime time.

00:01:32.180 Its main competitors, MSNBC and CNN, never came close.

00:01:35.480 In the key advertising demographic, people between the ages of 25 and 54, Fox News was the undisputed leader for a long time.

00:01:41.800 But last week, after nearly two months of declining ratings following the ouster of Tucker Carlson, Fox News' streak came to a very abrupt and unceremonious end.

00:01:51.640 On Friday, Fox News recorded its worst performance in prime time in the network's history.

00:01:56.640 Just 109,000 people between the ages of 25 and 54, again, the key demographic, tuned into Tucker Carlson's old 8 p.m. time slot to watch the replacement show, which is called Fox News Tonight.

00:02:09.680 How bad is that?

00:02:10.600 Well, to put it in context, Fox News Tonight was ranked 41st out of all cable news shows on Friday.

00:02:16.200 This is the time slot that used to be routinely ranked number one out of all shows on cable.

00:02:20.500 Now there are, like, YouTube streams of people playing with Legos that get more viewers than Fox does in the key demo in prime time.

00:02:29.340 And keep in mind also, Fox News attracted those 109,000 viewers on a really busy news night.

00:02:34.400 This was after the announcement of Donald Trump's indictment.

00:02:37.440 Not many people cared what Fox News anchors had to say about one of the biggest news stories in American political history.

00:02:44.300 Now, whatever you make of that, it's clear that the implosion of Fox News is well underway, and it's showing no signs of stopping.

00:02:52.600 This week, as Tucker discussed on his Twitter show yesterday, Fox News executives publicly condemned a veteran producer who wrote a banner that was critical of Joe Biden.

00:03:02.040 Now, five years ago, the banner wouldn't have attracted any attention whatsoever.

00:03:06.400 But under the current leadership of Fox News, it led to the producer leaving the network within 48 hours.

00:03:12.660 Listen.

00:03:12.740 Beneath those videos at the bottom of the screen, Fox's banner read this way, quote,

00:03:18.660 Those words were up for less than 30 seconds, but the effect was immediate.

00:03:28.240 Inside Fox, the women who run the network panicked. 1.00

00:03:31.060 First, they scolded the producer who put the banner on the screen.

00:03:34.500 Less than 24 hours after that, he resigned.

00:03:37.340 He'd been at Fox for more than a decade.

00:03:39.040 He was considered one of the most capable people in the building.

00:03:41.620 He offered to stay for the customary two weeks, but Fox told him to clear out his desk and leave immediately.

00:03:47.380 Now, that banner is the most interesting thing that's happened in that time slot for about two months, which, of course, means that Fox News cracks down on it.

00:03:59.240 What's happening at Fox, though, feels familiar.

00:04:00.980 The network is on the same trajectory that we saw with Bud Light, with Target.

00:04:05.500 Fox News executives, for some reason, are apparently destroying their own product.

00:04:11.860 And now they've obviously lost the trust of their customer base.

00:04:15.140 They didn't just fire their top-performing host in the single most important hour in television without providing any justification for it.

00:04:22.060 Now they're punishing producers, too.

00:04:23.820 And they've also been, even before that, relentlessly promoting transgenderism across all their platforms.

00:04:31.000 They've made Caitlyn Jenner one of their top contributors.

00:04:33.580 In every article about Dylan Mulvaney or any other trans activist, they diligently make sure to respect the preferred pronouns.

00:04:41.620 Fox News' parent company, Fox Corporation, is even sponsoring a pride parade.

00:04:45.580 All of this is driving Fox News' viewers away.

00:04:50.080 It's hard not to wonder what's happening at Fox News and whether there's any chance the company, which was once trusted by millions of people, can ever recover.

00:04:57.900 Well, yesterday my team and I broke a story on Twitter based on internal documents we obtained from Fox News employees revealing the shocking extent to which Fox Corp is celebrating Pride Month.

00:05:09.560 I encourage you to read the entire thread on Twitter to get all the facts on the story.

00:05:13.160 I must warn you, though, what we found included very sexually explicit content.

00:05:17.940 I don't have to tell you that I have a lot to say about that, which I'm going to get into right now.

00:05:22.760 And what we found illustrates how deep the rot goes and how unsalvageable the whole organization truly is.

00:05:29.740 These are documents that are produced by Fox Corporation.

00:05:32.240 They're presented to Fox News employees when they log into their employee portal.

00:05:36.080 And the documents show that the leadership of Fox Corporation apparently despises their viewers and everything they stand for.

00:05:44.620 I mean, this is a company that abhors not only traditional values, but also basic human decency, it would seem.

00:05:51.120 Am I overstating things?

00:05:53.220 Well, let's see.

00:05:54.180 In honor of Pride Month, Fox Corporation is now encouraging employees of Fox News to read literature about glory holes.

00:06:02.460 And you heard that right. 0.99

00:06:03.520 These are literal holes in the wall where men anonymously receive oral sex. 0.99

00:06:09.280 Fox's executives want their employees to learn all about them. 0.96

00:06:12.740 Now, if you went up to a co-worker and wherever you work and you started talking in graphic detail or any detail at all about glory holes, you get hit with a sexual harassment lawsuit.

00:06:25.260 But this is what Fox is telling its employees to read.

00:06:28.980 And that's not the only pornographic topic that Fox is pushing on its workers.

00:06:32.600 We'll get more into that in just a moment.

00:06:34.060 In addition to the porn, Fox is also encouraging everyone at the company to donate to organizations that administer sterilizing hormones to young people, including homeless youth.

00:06:44.940 This is something that on air, Fox News occasionally pretends is a bad thing.

00:06:48.620 But internally, Fox Corp is promoting it with enthusiasm.

00:06:53.100 Pull back the curtain and there's really not much daylight between the Fox boardroom and the faculty lounge at UC Berkeley.

00:07:00.560 And actually, in some respects, Fox is even worse than Berkeley.

00:07:03.000 Because Fox has gone high tech with its DEI agenda, just in case any employees at the network stepped out of line.

00:07:11.480 You always have to worry about that, of course.

00:07:12.880 The documents we've obtained also show that Fox leadership experimented with an artificial intelligence program that pushes, quote, diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.

00:07:22.740 Now, this AI, with the rather dystopian name Escalera, advertises that it can track the progress of organizations towards certain DEI goals.

00:07:31.760 That's its main function.

00:07:33.800 Yesterday, we uploaded the documents outlining all of this and everything else we're talking about on my Twitter feed.

00:07:38.360 And you can check them out there if you haven't already.

00:07:40.980 Again, the materials come from Fox's employee portal, which Fox News employees access from there.

00:07:48.140 Here's a screenshot of one of the documents.

00:07:49.700 We'll put it up on the screen so you can see it.

00:07:51.160 And you can see that Fox Corp encourages, again, its employees to donate to a variety of organizations and says it will even help match funds to these groups.

00:07:58.420 Now, what are these groups?

00:08:00.280 Well, let's go through a couple of them.

00:08:01.500 According to Fox, employees should donate to the Trevor Project because it's supposedly devoted to helping LGBTQ young people ages 13 to 24.

00:08:11.520 How exactly does the Trevor Project help these youths?

00:08:14.440 Well, as the National Review reported recently, they run a chat room that allows 13-year-olds to connect with LGBTQ adults to talk about, among other things, sexually explicit topics.

00:08:25.920 As the National Review put it, it's a, quote, Pandora's box of depravity.

00:08:30.500 Reportedly, there's no age requirement or verification whatsoever.

00:08:33.860 In many cases, these adults tell children in the chat rooms how to obtain medication, products like chest binders, without alerting their parents.

00:08:43.800 One chat from an adult, which children could see, began with the adult talking about his urge to masturbate.

00:08:50.880 And it goes on from there in graphic detail. 0.91

00:08:53.200 In another chat hosted by Trevor Project, an adult starts talking about doggy style, quote, unquote,

00:08:58.200 and a user under the age of 18 responds saying he also wants to try it.

00:09:02.380 Now, none of this is new information, by the way.

00:09:05.800 It's been reported for months.

00:09:08.160 Fox wants their employees to support the Trevor Project anyway.

00:09:12.200 They're also telling employees to donate to the Allie Forney Center.

00:09:15.720 That's a group that says that it takes care of homeless young people.

00:09:19.440 What does that mean, taking care of them?

00:09:21.180 Well, on their Twitter account, the Allie Forney Center boasts about injecting these young people with cross-sex hormones, 0.90

00:09:26.640 hormones that will sterilize them.

00:09:28.080 They say they provide, quote, life-saving services like hormone replacement therapy for our young people.

00:09:34.340 So they're taking at-risk youth, and they appear to admit that they're flooding their bodies with irreversible chemicals.

00:09:41.680 This is all right out in the open.

00:09:44.960 Fox supports it anyway.

00:09:46.880 As if to erase any doubt about that, Fox also encourages donations to the Los Angeles LGBT Center,

00:09:53.400 which openly brags about giving hormones to children.

00:09:57.300 And that organization even uploaded a video of a mother, quote,

00:10:00.900 surprising her trans daughter with first dose of hormones.

00:10:04.740 Now, YouTube took that video down for terms of service violations,

00:10:07.340 but a screenshot is still on Twitter, which, again, you can find on my Twitter page.

00:10:11.020 By itself, all of this is alarming, to say the least.

00:10:13.780 Again, Fox is matching employee donations to these far-left groups.

00:10:19.720 You know, and you have to ask, why exactly are Fox executives taking the position that their employees should support the chemical sterilization of minors?

00:10:30.900 We obtained other documents from the Fox employee portal, and after reviewing those documents, 0.96

00:10:38.120 the answer is obvious, to me anyway, personally, that Fox is run by a bunch of highly dedicated, godless perverts. 0.90

00:10:45.520 There's really no other way to describe this. 0.99

00:10:47.860 They want to impose their sexual fantasies on other people, whether it's children or their own employees.

00:10:53.160 And we know that because Fox's executives recommend several books to their employees to read.

00:10:58.960 One of the books is called Fairest, and it's by Meredith Taliesin.

00:11:03.760 Here's a quote from the book early on.

00:11:06.700 Quote,

00:11:07.940 I'm sorry, but what's a glory hole, I asked.

00:11:10.380 The chuckles in the room gave themselves, aimed themselves at me.

00:11:13.560 Gavin leaned forward so I could see him.

00:11:15.640 In the half second before he spoke, I noticed that he was beautiful.

00:11:18.880 The glory hole is an opening drilled into the side of a restroom, he said,

00:11:22.140 like we were reading out of a dictionary.

00:11:23.940 And then he gives more graphic descriptions of what the glory hole does.

00:11:26.420 This is, I mean, I can't even read most of what this book says.

00:11:30.340 Or at least I won't read it.

00:11:31.820 This is a book that Fox executives tell their employees will, quote,

00:11:34.340 expand their perspective.

00:11:36.780 The author goes on to elaborate in ways that, again, I will not read aloud.

00:11:41.020 But it's all on Twitter if you'd like to read it for yourself for whatever reason.

00:11:44.680 Now, in case you're tempted to think that Fox executives recommended this book by mistake,

00:11:50.060 not sure how that would happen,

00:11:50.960 you should know that they also tell their employees to read a novel called Red, White, and Royal Blue.

00:11:56.600 And it's about a fictional gay relationship between the Prince of Wales and the President's son.

00:12:02.220 And it starts off with this dialogue, which can best be described as barely literate,

00:12:06.480 but this is what it says.

00:12:07.240 Now, why does Fox encourage his employees to read this horribly written dialogue about how America is a genocidal empire?

00:12:36.080 It's hard to say.

00:12:37.460 The book doesn't linger on that topic very long.

00:12:39.400 Very quickly, it also devolves into, once again, gay erotica. 0.75

00:12:43.600 Quote, Henry gets a grip on Alex's hips and pulls him close, 0.82

00:12:46.600 so Alex is properly straddling his lap.

00:12:48.780 And he kisses hard now.

00:12:50.980 And it gets much worse from there.

00:12:52.560 Again, not anything I want to read out loud.

00:12:55.060 By the way, Fox also recommends a book for its employees to read to their children.

00:12:59.400 And this is an illustrated book starring a unicorn,

00:13:01.860 which is clearly intended to be a symbol for being gay or trans or non-binary or whatever else.

00:13:07.720 Fox also tells employees to watch videos of activists,

00:13:10.640 including a TED Talk in which an activist explains that undergoing a medically unnecessary double mastectomy

00:13:15.420 was somehow a sign of strength.

00:13:17.880 Watch.

00:13:18.160 But it's this type of structuring that has to be reframed in order to let love in.

00:13:23.800 My body never betrayed me, and my body was never wrong.

00:13:27.520 It's this restrictive, binary thinking on gender that said that I didn't exist.

00:13:32.540 But when we met, she loved me for exactly how I showed up.

00:13:35.920 She would trace her fingers along the numb, keloid scars left by my top surgery.

00:13:41.160 Scars that run from the middle of my chest all the way out to my outer torso.

00:13:45.320 She said that these were reminders of my strength and everything that I went through

00:13:49.300 and nothing for me to be ashamed of.

00:13:50.960 So sprinting towards her hand in marriage was the queerest thing that I could do.

00:13:55.140 What we're seeing here is a top-down effort by Fox executives

00:13:58.020 to ensure that radical gender ideology and all of its deranged excesses 1.00

00:14:02.280 is dominant at every level in the company.

00:14:04.840 But, of course, not every Fox employee wants to go along with this,

00:14:07.820 and that might be why last year Fox experimented with a solution

00:14:11.200 to whip those employees in line.

00:14:13.300 It's an AI platform called Escalera,

00:14:15.660 which tracks employees' commitment to the cult of DEI.

00:14:19.620 Here's how VentureBeat describes Escalera.

00:14:22.480 Quote,

00:14:23.260 Escalera creates AI-based inclusion index to measure a better workplace.

00:14:27.320 Escalera today unveiled the Inclusion Index,

00:14:29.220 a new system for organizing companies that encourages and quantifies inclusive culture.

00:14:33.800 Using organizational analytics,

00:14:35.780 the Inclusion Index is aimed at real-time measurements

00:14:37.820 of a company's diversity and inclusion efforts.

00:14:40.900 Now, if you check the Escalera website

00:14:42.220 and you do some reading on what services, quote-unquote, this AI performs,

00:14:46.020 I mean, it's really creepy stuff.

00:14:47.560 Escalera advertises that it pulls in data from a variety of sources,

00:14:51.380 including company emails, payroll system.

00:14:55.100 It generates a peer comfort index and a diversity index based in part

00:15:00.260 on how often employees, quote, practice micro-affirmations.

00:15:05.340 And micro-affirmations, I assume, are the opposite of micro-aggressions,

00:15:09.500 and it appears that Fox is all about them, very concerned about this.

00:15:14.240 Escalera produces data that guides the leaders in the company

00:15:18.140 to telling them which departments aren't inclusive enough.

00:15:20.780 The system is supposed to guide hiring, terminations, raises, everything.

00:15:25.840 Now, what's the end result of all this?

00:15:28.320 What happens to a news organization when the executives promote radical gender ideology

00:15:32.440 and perverted reading materials?

00:15:34.980 What happens when they bring in a woke AI to monitor everybody? 0.62

00:15:38.820 Well, you get the current state of Fox.

00:15:40.520 It's a company where many of the employees hate Fox News viewers.

00:15:44.300 Here's the Instagram page of one influential Fox News employee,

00:15:47.280 just to give one example.

00:15:49.580 And he has pronouns in his bio, of course, as you would expect.

00:15:53.940 Now, in one post, this employee calls conservatives hicks

00:15:56.820 for complaining about drag queens who target kids.

00:16:00.020 In another post, he defends the anti-Catholic hate group

00:16:02.500 Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, quote,

00:16:04.500 Catholics wonder why we have an order of nuns 1.00

00:16:06.380 to push back on this ridiculous garbage, he wrote. 1.00

00:16:09.660 Now, to be clear, this Fox News employee is defending a group 1.00

00:16:12.580 that openly mocks Catholics, putting on, you know, 0.99

00:16:15.240 perverted and blasphemous displays like this in public. 0.94

00:16:19.260 Watch.

00:16:19.520 There are a bunch more posts that make it clear

00:16:37.560 that this employee has contempt for Fox News viewers,

00:16:39.820 to put it mildly.

00:16:40.800 It's not worth going through all of them,

00:16:41.920 but there's a clear connection to these posts

00:16:43.800 and the content that Fox News viewers see.

00:16:47.000 Some of his posts are about his work on the Fox News website.

00:16:50.000 He says that he was, quote,

00:16:51.280 so happy that Fox News got to use the image he made

00:16:53.760 after Joe Biden won the presidency, for example.

00:16:56.480 He's very happy about that.

00:16:58.120 Now, this is all very bad.

00:17:00.400 And the question is, where do we go from here?

00:17:02.960 Like, what happens next?

00:17:04.800 Well, in the few hours after we first posted our investigation,

00:17:07.760 several prominent conservatives, as expected,

00:17:09.960 stayed silent and refused to amplify it,

00:17:12.780 more than several, many.

00:17:13.840 These are people who are terrified of losing the opportunity

00:17:17.400 to appear on Fox for a couple of minutes.

00:17:19.900 This is the blackmail.

00:17:22.440 This is how many conservatives are held hostage in effect

00:17:27.160 because they're terrified that they won't be able to go on Fox

00:17:31.540 and promote their next book or their podcast or whatever.

00:17:34.400 They'd rather lose their integrity than lose that.

00:17:37.520 But several major figures did speak out to their great credit.

00:17:40.760 Utah Senator Mike Lee, for example, wrote, quote,

00:17:42.800 quote, this kind of deliberate alienation of its own audience

00:17:45.340 might not end well for Fox News,

00:17:47.040 but for the fact that there is no other large cable news company

00:17:49.120 in America that is widely known as conservative

00:17:51.140 or even right of center, this account could prove devastating.

00:17:54.220 Scott Adams wrote simply, my brain is exploding.

00:17:57.140 James Limsey observed that, quote,

00:17:58.660 ESG slash CEI likely is behind both this

00:18:01.460 and Tucker's removal at Fox.

00:18:02.960 Fox is now openly known to be a part of the ESG cartel.

00:18:06.740 Blaze host Steve Deese wrote, quote,

00:18:08.240 quote, just read this thread, complete and total vile filth from Fox News.

00:18:13.520 Well put.

00:18:14.620 Other commentators, including people who stand to get disinvited from Fox

00:18:17.680 permanently for speaking out, did also speak out as well.

00:18:21.100 Jason Whitlock, a frequent guest on Fox, publicly thanked us for the investigation.

00:18:24.600 Benny Johnson wrote, quote, this is insane.

00:18:27.260 You need to read this.

00:18:28.020 Fox News is a fifth column, a Trojan horse in the city walls.

00:18:31.500 Robbie Starbuck, another regular on Fox, tweeted, quote,

00:18:34.120 I will not appear on a Fox News show until they drop their attacks on Tucker

00:18:37.040 and fire the person responsible for this vile memo.

00:18:40.160 And Chaya Reitschik, who's the founder of Lives with TikTok, wrote, quote,

00:18:43.140 I visited Fox headquarters a few times.

00:18:44.820 On one occasion, I noticed a bunch of screensavers

00:18:46.620 with the words Fox pride in rainbow colors.

00:18:49.200 I remember thinking it was very strange.

00:18:50.500 It all makes sense now.

00:18:51.740 Fox needs to get their act together.

00:18:52.880 All these people and more are at some, you know,

00:18:55.840 at some significant personal cost are responding to our investigation.

00:18:59.200 They're willing to call out a wrong when they saw it,

00:19:01.780 regardless of whether it impacted them professionally,

00:19:03.940 which is exactly what we need.

00:19:05.260 Credit to them for that.

00:19:06.700 And now we need many more to speak out.

00:19:08.540 Every conservative is quick to criticize corporate wokeism,

00:19:12.640 and for good reason.

00:19:14.400 But Fox can't be given a pass.

00:19:16.500 I mean, quite the opposite.

00:19:18.640 So the question is, what do Fox News executives think about all this?

00:19:21.640 Do they object to their parent company recommending books about pornographic topics to their employees?

00:19:27.400 Fox News audience deserves to know.

00:19:30.520 After I posted yesterday's tweet thread on our investigation last night,

00:19:33.540 we reached out to Fox News executives about this to get some kind of response.

00:19:37.860 We still haven't heard back.

00:19:39.500 So far, Fox doesn't seem to think that its viewers deserve any kind of explanation whatsoever.

00:19:43.400 That may be even more revealing, frankly, than what we uncovered,

00:19:47.440 the fact that they're not saying anything about it.

00:19:49.860 What explains this?

00:19:51.820 As we said on Twitter, maybe it's because Fox doesn't really care what its viewers think.

00:19:56.420 Fox, like many big tech platforms and major corporations,

00:19:59.660 is primarily owned by enormous institutional investors,

00:20:03.520 particularly BlackRock and Vanguard.

00:20:05.360 These massive funds consolidate the wealth of millions of Americans

00:20:10.040 and then use their combined power to pursue a radical agenda that most of those Americans oppose.

00:20:16.120 I mean, that's what's going on here.

00:20:18.740 And those organizations, those institutions, it would seem, are Fox's real customers.

00:20:24.160 And they're getting exactly what they want.

00:20:27.340 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:20:28.700 The CEO of Innovation Refunds at GetRefunds.com has been on TV explaining

00:20:38.340 how they've helped so many small businesses with the ERC tax refund.

00:20:42.540 They've completed thousands of returns for different kinds of businesses,

00:20:45.420 including over $700 million for construction companies

00:20:48.580 and over $200 million in restaurants, bars, and hotels.

00:20:51.660 Innovation Refunds has hundreds of five-star Trustpilot and Google reviews,

00:20:55.100 and it's certified with the Better Business Bureau.

00:20:57.680 In just eight minutes, you can easily start the process on GetRefunds.com.

00:21:01.580 You can be on your way to receiving up to $26,000 per employee.

00:21:06.120 The ERC tax credit is not a loan.

00:21:07.820 It's a refund of your already paid taxes designed to let the business owner

00:21:11.640 direct the refund money into anything the business needs to grow.

00:21:15.000 It's money that you can use to improve your business however you see fit.

00:21:18.420 So go to GetRefunds.com to start the process.

00:21:20.400 There's no upfront charge.

00:21:21.360 They don't get paid unless you get paid.

00:21:23.420 Innovation Refunds has already helped clients claim over $5 billion

00:21:26.580 in payroll tax refunds through the ERC,

00:21:28.980 and they may be able to help your business too.

00:21:31.240 Go to GetRefunds.com or download the app from the App Store today.

00:21:34.960 That's GetRefunds.com.

00:21:37.640 I should say, by the way, not all of the reactions to our Fox investigation

00:21:41.320 have been positive, as you might expect.

00:21:43.440 So for one example, an account with 12,000 followers called Bad Empanada,

00:21:49.280 for whatever reason, quote tweeted my thread and wrote, quote,

00:21:53.460 if you're going to commit suicide, you might as well take Matt Walsh with you, please.

00:21:58.560 And that was up for, I don't know, a few minutes before it was taken down.

00:22:01.860 I got 118 likes in those few minutes.

00:22:04.320 118 likes on people liking the idea of, like, a suicidal person killing me. 0.79

00:22:09.920 You know, pleading for a murder-suicide.

00:22:13.960 118, you know, I think we've got to pump those numbers up a little bit.

00:22:16.920 A little disappointed it was only 118.

00:22:18.880 But these kinds of tweets are good.

00:22:20.580 And by the way, that account has now been suspended,

00:22:23.020 which is something that pre-Musk era would not have happened.

00:22:26.240 If you were on the left, you could call for the murder of people on the right

00:22:29.860 just all the time.

00:22:31.140 There would be no consequence at all.

00:22:32.280 But these kinds of tweets are good because they ensure that you will never forget

00:22:39.680 that these people literally want you dead.

00:22:42.880 And so when I talk about that, when you hear conservatives say, 0.73

00:22:46.000 oh, they want us dead, it's like it's not hyperbole.

00:22:48.460 They really actually do.

00:22:50.160 And this is also not a Twitter is not real life thing.

00:22:53.020 They're just saying that.

00:22:54.080 But no, no, no, this is actually what they want.

00:22:57.120 Like if somebody really did it, they would be thrilled.

00:22:59.860 And it's not a fun thing to think about, but it is something we should always remember,

00:23:07.040 that that's where we are now in the culture.

00:23:09.500 That's when we talk about a culture war.

00:23:11.880 That word is quite apt. 0.99

00:23:14.860 All right.

00:23:15.780 Speaking of the culture war, Daily Wire has this report.

00:23:17.740 United States Space Force Lieutenant General Deanna M.

00:23:20.740 Burt admitted during a recent Department of Defense LGBTQ plus pride event that she would

00:23:26.420 allow access to gender affirming care to take priority over qualifications when assigning

00:23:31.080 officers.

00:23:32.920 Burt referenced several states that have passed laws banning transgender surgeries and in

00:23:37.200 some cases puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for minors and said that while she

00:23:40.960 would normally consider job performance and qualifications before selecting officers for certain jobs,

00:23:44.920 she had to also consider whether her troops and their families would feel safe in those

00:23:49.860 assignments.

00:23:52.320 So this is one of those things where we're not, we already know this is going on, but it

00:23:59.160 is still pretty shocking to hear it said out loud openly.

00:24:03.440 Let's listen to it.

00:24:05.660 Transformational cultural change requires leadership from the top.

00:24:09.140 And we do not have time to wait.

00:24:12.380 Since January of this year, more than 400 anti-LGBTQ plus laws have been introduced at the state

00:24:18.700 level.

00:24:19.680 That number is rising and demonstrates a trend that could be dangerous for service members,

00:24:24.820 their families, and the readiness of the force as a whole.

00:24:28.140 When I look at potential candidates, say for squadron command, I strive to match the right

00:24:33.120 person to the right job.

00:24:34.880 I consider their job performance and relevant experience first.

00:24:39.620 However, I also look at their personal circumstances and their family is also an important factor.

00:24:45.460 It's a good match for a job does not feel safe being themselves and performing at their highest

00:24:51.040 potential at a given location, or if their family could be denied critical health care due

00:24:56.800 to the laws in that state.

00:24:58.520 I am compelled to consider a different candidate and perhaps less qualified.

00:25:04.880 In some ways, this is actually not surprising, especially from Space Force, given that, like,

00:25:12.340 what is Space Force?

00:25:13.580 What do they do exactly?

00:25:15.720 What exactly is Space Force doing?

00:25:17.980 Now, if you didn't know any better, and I don't know, if you woke up, like, imagine you woke

00:25:21.420 up from a 40-year coma and you were, one of the first things they told you, for some reason,

00:25:28.540 is that we have a Space Force now.

00:25:30.800 And you would immediately, in your mind, you'd conjure all these images of, like, Star Wars

00:25:36.920 and you'd think, oh, we have a Space Force.

00:25:39.800 That means we're out in outer space and we're fighting aliens and stuff.

00:25:44.240 And then you'd be very disappointed when you found out that, oh, no, that's not what Space

00:25:47.540 Force does at all.

00:25:48.240 They just actually, they stay on Earth and they enforce diversity quotas. 0.81

00:25:52.320 That's what Space Force does. 1.00

00:25:53.380 I'm not sure what else they do.

00:25:58.900 What else does Space Force do and what do we need them for that the Air Force or one of 0.82

00:26:04.540 the other military branches isn't already doing?

00:26:08.320 But of course, all the other military branches, this has become their primary focus is diversity.

00:26:15.260 And now they are directly telling us that they will put diversity and LGBTQ tolerance and

00:26:24.920 all the rest of it above qualifications.

00:26:28.760 So a more qualified candidate will be tossed to the side for the sake of DEI.

00:26:35.560 And this is the kind of thing that we as conservatives have been saying for years, this is going on, 0.79

00:26:41.740 and they always insisted, oh, that's ridiculous. 0.63

00:26:43.680 No, this is not.

00:26:44.960 Just because you're focusing on diversity doesn't mean that you have to downplay or minimize,

00:26:50.800 you know, merits or quality.

00:26:52.420 We can have it all.

00:26:53.420 We can have it all.

00:26:54.100 So we can prioritize diversity and we can prioritize qualifications and merit.

00:26:59.840 That was always bogus.

00:27:01.220 Of course, that's bogus.

00:27:02.460 Of course, it's one or the other.

00:27:05.720 When it comes to what is your top concern in hiring and promoting?

00:27:11.740 So you can't have two equally important concerns that contradict one another.

00:27:20.560 Because either you're going for the most qualified person for the job,

00:27:26.480 who can get the job done, or you're going for the most diverse applicants.

00:27:32.460 It really can't be both.

00:27:33.880 Now, and when we say diverse applicants, that's just, of course, that's a code for non-white males. 1.00

00:27:42.100 That's all that means.

00:27:42.760 Now, every time we say that, you'll hear someone on the left will object.

00:27:49.840 So, well, you're saying that only white males can be qualified?

00:27:53.060 There couldn't be a black person or a woman who's qualified? 1.00

00:27:57.060 No.

00:27:57.460 But if the qualification you're looking for is that someone can do the job and then it turns out that the most qualified person is black or the most qualified person is, quote unquote, diverse as in a non-white male, then fine.

00:28:15.080 But you don't need to take that into consideration.

00:28:18.220 Let the chips fall where they may.

00:28:19.700 Hire the most qualified people.

00:28:22.520 And if that means that you end up with an institution or organization that's very, quote unquote, diverse, then fine.

00:28:29.620 If it means you end up with an institution that's 99% white male, then fine. 0.82

00:28:36.020 That's the only sane, common sense way to approach this.

00:28:41.780 And any other way ultimately leads to this.

00:28:44.600 Now, last week, moving on, I think it was last week, I mentioned an email that we got from Rolling Stone where they were asking me for comment on a hit piece that they were getting ready to publish about me and some other conservatives.

00:28:58.460 And I declined to participate in my own hit piece as much as I was thankful for the offer.

00:29:04.500 It was a very generous offer, but I declined to participate.

00:29:07.180 I did say that I would give them a comment if they could, if the Rolling Stone could first define the word woman.

00:29:13.000 So that was the deal that I offered.

00:29:14.500 Define the word woman. 1.00

00:29:15.460 I'll give you a comment.

00:29:16.740 They elected not to do that.

00:29:18.780 The hit piece has finally been released.

00:29:20.240 And I have to say, of all the hit pieces that have been published, this one has to be my favorite.

00:29:25.760 Like, this is great.

00:29:27.220 So I'm going to read a little bit of this.

00:29:28.940 A few minutes into the documentary, What is a Woman? 1.00

00:29:30.680 Matt Walsh is seen striding into the woods with a fishing rod, his plaid shirt, vest, and close-cropped beard, giving off lumberjack dad energy.

00:29:38.400 Well, let's come out here to think, he intones as he casts his line into the water.

00:29:41.700 Nature seems to always tell the truth.

00:29:42.900 Even when we don't want to hear it.

00:29:44.440 He then asks himself a series of rhetorical, seemingly joking questions about gender and identity.

00:29:48.720 Is there a son trapped in my daughter's body?

00:29:50.360 If so, how do I get him out?

00:29:51.580 Are any of my kids who they claim to be?

00:29:53.280 So begins that film, which premiered in June 2022, and features Walsh peppering a series of healthcare providers, politicians, and LGBTQ activists with questions intended to expose what he refers to as the insane ideological cult of gender ideology.

00:30:06.040 Walsh travels the world asking people to define the word woman, and so on and so forth.

00:30:09.840 It ends with Walsh posing the question to his wife, who defines the term as an adult human female, then hands him a pickle jar to open.

00:30:15.020 And the article goes into detail about, you know, the origin story.

00:30:19.400 It says that I, quote, lack the star power of my boss, Ben Shapiro.

00:30:22.700 But then it says this, which is true. 0.62

00:30:25.440 That changed, however, with What is a Woman? 1.00

00:30:28.560 In early January 2022, a few months prior to the film's debut, Walsh had a little more than 767,000 followers on Twitter.

00:30:34.780 By January 2023, he had reached 1.24 million.

00:30:38.020 Over the past month alone, Walsh has gained more than 100,000 followers.

00:30:40.600 He now has over 2 million.

00:30:42.140 The film did tremendous damage in terms of helping to, quote, amplify anti-trans ideology, making it mainstream, providing it to a bigger audience, says R.G. Cravens, research analyst at the Southern Poverty Law Center.

00:30:54.160 It took advantage of the underlying transphobia that exists in the country.

00:30:58.080 It also helped legitimize Walsh as a political authority, leading to an invitation for him to testify in front of the Tennessee House Committee regarding a bill banning gender-affirming care for minors.

00:31:06.660 Then it goes into the success of the film.

00:31:08.280 I mean, I'm just reading through this, and I was waiting to get to the part, you know, usually in a hit piece, you get to the part where it's like, okay, there's the hit.

00:31:14.820 And the entire thing is just about how the film was massively successful and influential, painting me as one of the leaders of the conservative movement.

00:31:26.020 And that's how they decided to attack me.

00:31:27.580 And I have to say, it's really awful stuff.

00:31:29.660 It's so embarrassing.

00:31:30.520 Please, media, don't make any more articles like this.

00:31:35.180 It really hurts my feelings.

00:31:37.000 I'm a shy person.

00:31:38.180 I don't like this kind of attention.

00:31:40.700 And especially when you write an entire article about my successes, I just, please stop doing that.

00:31:49.000 It really, I'm begging you, don't, no more articles like this.

00:31:55.240 I'm throwing up the white flag.

00:31:57.040 I surrender.

00:31:57.540 And, of course, you notice the one thing they don't do in the article is even try to deal with any of the arguments or the points.

00:32:08.180 So, of course, they call it transphobic and everything else.

00:32:11.240 It's bigoted.

00:32:13.640 But at no point do they say, well, Walsh makes this claim, which is wrong because of this.

00:32:20.600 Or the movie, you know, presents this argument, and here's why it's wrong.

00:32:24.240 And you think if you're going to write, like, a 5,000-word hit piece that maybe you'd make some time for that?

00:32:30.640 In fact, that should be the headline.

00:32:35.240 You should start with that.

00:32:37.480 Just dismantle the movie piece by piece, especially if you are acknowledging that it's influential, successful, very, according to them, quote, damaging, damaging to their agenda, which it is.

00:32:51.300 Then why not?

00:32:52.100 Like, why hasn't Rolling Stone done that?

00:32:55.200 You know, why haven't they, why haven't any of these corporate media outlets done it?

00:33:00.480 Just put out the definitive takedown of what is a woman and bit by bit rip it to shreds. 1.00

00:33:08.260 No one has done that.

00:33:10.160 No one has done it.

00:33:12.100 Literally, and not just corporate media.

00:33:13.840 Nobody on the left has done this.

00:33:15.280 They've had a year, and they haven't been able to do it because they know they can't, which is why, up until recently, they decided to just ignore it, and now they can't even do that anymore.

00:33:25.940 So this is what they're left with.

00:33:27.040 All right.

00:33:28.640 A couple other things.

00:33:31.840 We missed a few shows.

00:33:32.880 So I missed, there's some stories that I missed.

00:33:35.620 A couple points I wanted to make about this one.

00:33:39.000 And you no doubt saw, we're not going to put the picture up on it.

00:33:41.420 I mean, you've already seen this picture.

00:33:42.680 And even if you hadn't, I wouldn't put it up anyway.

00:33:44.220 But the image of the trans activist, a male at the White House for the pride celebration, topless. 0.90

00:33:50.780 The male, you know, took off his shirt at the White House, flashed his fake breasts.

00:33:55.100 A couple days later, Karen Jean Pair at the White House condemned this display of the trans activist.

00:34:03.500 We have that clip.

00:34:04.060 Let's play Karen Jean Pair.

00:34:05.860 Having received the statement that the White House believes that was inappropriate, disrespectful,

00:34:10.400 is there going to be a greater effort in the future to communicate a code of conduct for White House guests?

00:34:16.500 Look, we've, as you mentioned, the statement that we put out, you heard from us earlier today,

00:34:22.380 the behavior was simply unacceptable.

00:34:24.900 We've been very clear about that.

00:34:26.320 It was unfair to the hundreds of attendees who were there to celebrate their families.

00:34:32.860 So, you know, we're going to continue to be clear on that.

00:34:37.200 And that type of behavior is, as I said, unacceptable.

00:34:41.700 It's not appropriate.

00:34:42.500 It's disrespectful.

00:34:43.860 And let's not, it really does not reflect the event that we hosted to celebrate the LGBTQ plus families.

00:34:51.320 Again, hundreds of families who were here to celebrate their community and who were here in attendance.

00:34:57.600 So, look, individuals in the video certainly will not be invited to future events.

00:35:03.600 And this has not occurred before, right?

00:35:06.740 This is not, this was not a normal thing that has happened under this administration.

00:35:11.800 But we've been very clear about how we saw this particular behavior.

00:35:17.840 Just a terrible transphobia there, first of all.

00:35:20.340 You're telling me a trans activist isn't allowed to get naked on the White House lawn.

00:35:24.440 That is, I thought we moved past this kind of bigotry as a nation.

00:35:27.280 I thought we were better than that.

00:35:28.260 I thought we were better than that as a country.

00:35:30.320 I thought we all understood that trans people are, you know, are allowed to do literally anything they want all the time, anywhere.

00:35:37.140 Even at the White House.

00:35:38.020 Didn't we, I thought that was, that's, didn't we understand?

00:35:40.380 But we all understand that if you, if you tell a trans person that they can't do anything, that it is, it's a genocide.

00:35:47.600 You are genociding them if you do that.

00:35:51.000 At least that's usually the attitude.

00:35:53.420 And in this case, the Biden administration had to pretend briefly to have some common sense for a change.

00:36:01.100 Operative word, of course, being pretend.

00:36:02.600 Though I, I must admit that my favorite thing in that clip and the reason I wanted to play it was just at the end there where Karen Jean-Pierre stipulates that this has not occurred before.

00:36:12.620 But she said, this is not a normal thing under this administration.

00:36:15.740 So you know things are bad when you have to clarify that.

00:36:18.660 You know it's not a good sign when you actually have to clarify that you don't usually allow shirtless transgenders to run around outside the White House. 0.98

00:36:26.820 Like when you have to tell people that we don't, we don't, it's not part of our normal policy.

00:36:30.460 But I think there are, there are two important points here that I think a lot of people missed about this whole thing.

00:36:36.600 Aside from the fact that the Biden administration is a traveling circus, a freak show, you know, we know all of that.

00:36:43.120 And, but there's two other points.

00:36:45.700 And the first is that, as we covered, trans activists are accustomed to being given free reign to do whatever they want.

00:36:52.420 So there's a sense of entitlement there.

00:36:54.240 And this trans activist just like, it didn't even, it really didn't occur to him that he wouldn't, that he shouldn't do that.

00:37:01.300 Because he's used to operating in a society, being in the most privileged group of Americans that have ever existed as a trans person.

00:37:09.160 There's no one more, there's no one more privileged that's ever, there's no category of person more privileged than a trans identifying person in the year 2023 in modern America.

00:37:18.580 And he's, he's used to, he's used to operating in the world that way.

00:37:22.180 And so it just, you figure, well, of course I got to do this because I want to do it.

00:37:26.520 So that's one thing you see.

00:37:27.640 And the other thing you see, and this is the most important point, is that this is what pride is all about.

00:37:34.280 Okay.

00:37:35.140 So there is no family friendly, wholesome version of pride.

00:37:40.380 Because if there was, you'd think that's what you would see at the White House.

00:37:44.980 At the White House, you're going to see what would be the most sanitized and the most, quote unquote, if there's, if it's possible to have a family friendly version of pride, that's what the White House would give you.

00:37:58.540 And yet even there, you've got a shirtless trans dude running around. 1.00

00:38:02.520 And that should tell you that pride is inherently, at its core, not a wholesome family friendly thing. 0.92

00:38:10.540 It is aggressively sexual and degenerate at its core.

00:38:15.640 That's the primary takeaway here.

00:38:19.540 Here's something encouraging.

00:38:21.180 Yet more evidence that Pride Month is not going how the left planned.

00:38:26.940 There have been a lot of stories of companies that are pulling back from the pride bonanza.

00:38:31.360 We've talked about some of that.

00:38:32.420 Of course, we know Bud Light and Target.

00:38:34.500 Other companies seem to have very much toned down their pride celebrations.

00:38:38.160 There was a report a few days ago that Starbucks had banned pride decorations from their stores.

00:38:42.820 And they now, the company then came out and said, that's not true.

00:38:45.160 So you can trust who you want on that one.

00:38:49.040 But the pride movement is losing ground culturally.

00:38:52.420 And there is perhaps no better evidence than this.

00:38:55.060 Here's a news report about how some students at a school are responding to the pride efforts at that school.

00:39:01.360 Plays of intolerance and homophobia are unacceptable.

00:39:05.500 This type of intolerant rhetoric starts in the home.

00:39:08.200 Parents angry at town hall over intolerance at Marshall Simons Middle School.

00:39:13.120 Kids were asked to wear rainbow clothes in honor of Pride Spirit Day.

00:39:17.060 But some organized a counter protest wearing red, white and blue or black.

00:39:21.760 The principal sharing a statement to families that pride posters were ripped down, stickers ripped up.

00:39:27.820 Some students chanted USA are my pronouns and students showing pride were intimidated.

00:39:33.520 It was an unruly disruption, in fact, that was organized ahead of time.

00:39:38.400 While some parents were upset, others say it was overblown.

00:39:42.140 Some of the kids threw the stickers on the ground.

00:39:44.160 But, you know, I can only speak for my daughter.

00:39:45.820 She just, she didn't want to wear that to school.

00:39:48.080 It's not that she wanted to hurt anybody's feelings.

00:39:50.300 She says her daughter felt coerced to participate in the Pride event and was offended by some of the messages, like this quote from Tennessee Williams.

00:39:58.600 Human heart cannot be straight.

00:40:00.200 It is curves and winds.

00:40:01.680 And my daughter just kind of said, you know, mom, that's, that's offensive to, to me, who I am straight.

00:40:07.000 And then there's also this video out of a school in California where apparently a teacher tried to play some kind of pride video.

00:40:14.920 This is at a math class.

00:40:16.580 A teacher tried to play some kind of pride video during the math class because, you know, it's obviously really relevant to math.

00:40:21.300 And you can hear how the students reacted to it.

00:40:23.440 Listen.

00:40:23.580 Hey, I'll warn you guys now.

00:40:43.760 If you're going to be inappropriate, I will have supervision down and give all of you a Saturday school for next year.

00:40:48.540 So knock it off.

00:40:49.460 Okay.

00:40:49.680 This is extremely encouraging.

00:40:53.400 Maybe of everything else that's happened.

00:40:56.060 And, and I think we've, we've, we are gaining ground culturally and there's a, there's real evidence of that.

00:41:03.420 In fact, there was another report recently that's social conservatism is ascendant right now.

00:41:09.520 More people identify social conservative than have in years.

00:41:12.340 So just things like that are good signs, but this is probably the best sign of all, of all.

00:41:16.940 When you see this, and this is, these are not the only videos like this.

00:41:20.160 Of kids in school reacting to this pride propaganda, trans ideology this way, just like with mockery.

00:41:27.640 That's a sign of at least that some of the kids, some, the kids are all right.

00:41:32.580 Some of them anyway.

00:41:34.140 Because this is, you know, I think, I think back to when I was in middle school or high school.

00:41:37.820 And if we had a teacher try to play a pride video for us, it's exactly how we would have responded to it, just by laughing at it, which is the correct response. 1.00

00:41:48.640 This is how our kids should be raised to respond to this kind of propaganda this way.

00:41:53.840 Respond to it dismissively and with mockery.

00:41:58.500 But then the other thing that we take from this, and this is really important, and this is maybe one of the great advantages that we have right now.

00:42:06.260 The disadvantage is that the left owns all the institutions, almost all the positions of power.

00:42:11.720 Major disadvantage there.

00:42:14.160 They also own the education system, so they're able to try to indoctrinate kids, which is a terrible thing.

00:42:18.200 We fight back against that.

00:42:19.120 But the one advantage that comes with that is that now all of the adults in positions of authority are pushing this stuff.

00:42:25.980 They're pushing gay pride, LGBT, pride rainbows, trans ideology, transgenderism.

00:42:30.320 The adults are all pushing it, which makes it uncool.

00:42:33.320 Like, it's not a cool thing.

00:42:36.180 Now, it may have been years ago that the pride movement was seen as rebellious, like kind of a cultural insurgency.

00:42:43.880 And that gave it a certain cool factor for some young people at the time.

00:42:47.880 But that's gone now.

00:42:49.460 I mean, when you're a math teacher, when you're like the middle-aged woman teaching you math in 10th grade or whatever is pushing this, it's not cool anymore. 1.00

00:42:57.180 If you really have a rebellious spirit, you know, if you want to rebel, then that means rejecting all of that.

00:43:06.060 And I think that that's something that we can, that's an advantage we have that we should be harnessing to our advantage.

00:43:13.740 And we're seeing that happen now.

00:43:15.660 Let's get to the comment section.

00:43:16.900 It takes a special kind of company to want to partner with my show.

00:43:34.040 You know, I say a lot of things that make a lot of people angry, and this tends to scare off advertisers.

00:43:37.760 I will admit that's why I'm so grateful for partners like Pure Talk who stand behind me and my show no matter the consequences they might face.

00:43:45.460 Pure Talk shares my values, which is why we've made them the official cell phone wireless partner of The Daily Wire.

00:43:52.500 That's not the only reason.

00:43:53.360 Pure Talk offers the most dependable 5G network in the U.S.

00:43:56.660 I use it myself.

00:43:57.600 Their plans are top tier, but at a fraction of the cost of AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile, you get unlimited talk, text, and unlimited data with a mobile hotspot for just $55 a month.

00:44:08.020 You vote how you spend your money.

00:44:09.860 So stop supporting woke wireless companies that don't support you.

00:44:13.160 Instead, go to puretalk.com slash Walsh.

00:44:15.800 You'll get great coverage, and you'll save while you're doing it.

00:44:18.100 When you go to puretalk.com slash Walsh, you can save an additional 50% off your first month because they actually value you.

00:44:25.420 Imagine that.

00:44:26.260 That's puretalk.com slash Walsh.

00:44:28.320 Pure Talk.

00:44:29.260 Wireless for Americans by Americans. 0.99

00:44:31.420 All right, so I'm taking a break momentarily from some of the political stuff, pulling some of these comments from a video we posted on YouTube during the time off where I'm giving some dad advice, just some, you know, assuming my role is internet dad.

00:44:47.460 And those are always fun videos.

00:44:48.700 Here are some responses to that.

00:44:49.860 F.B. Jones said, I would add to the first letter advice, teach your kids futility.

00:44:57.700 Throwing tantrums is, like Matt said, a natural part of developing social skills by not giving in to your kids, not coddling them when they cry out because they didn't get their way.

00:45:05.400 You teach them that you aren't always going to get what you want.

00:45:09.620 This is a lesson sorely lacking within the youngest generations now.

00:45:12.880 It's the type of thing that leads directly to kids on college campuses protesting someone speaking because they think they don't like them or demanding safe spaces.

00:45:19.900 There's an excellent book on this topic, Hold On to Your Kids, by Gabor Mate, I think is how you pronounce it, M-A-T-E.

00:45:26.880 Recommended it to all parents and aspiring parents, even recommended it to people who want to analyze their own childhoods.

00:45:33.520 Also, The Coddling of the American Mind by Jonathan Haidt.

00:45:35.760 Yeah, I've mentioned Hold On to Your Kids before, and I think I've mentioned it and said that it's the only parenting book I've ever read in my life.

00:45:43.620 And interestingly enough, I read it before I was even a parent.

00:45:45.880 It was recommended to me, and I read it.

00:45:47.060 And at the time, I read it, as you say, from the perspective of, like, looking back on my own childhood.

00:45:54.520 And that is one.

00:45:55.520 It's been a long time since I read it, but that is one I would endorse that recommendation.

00:45:59.140 And you're, of course, exactly right.

00:46:00.740 It's a cliche to say this now, but it's also true that a lot of what we're seeing on college campuses and, I mean, I say among the young generation, really all generations of Americans at this point nearly, you're seeing partially the fruits of parenting that did not involve the word no.

00:46:18.800 I mean, there's a real power in the word no, and people need to hear it.

00:46:24.920 I mean, kids need to hear it.

00:46:26.140 So it's actually, when your kid asks for something and you're able to say no, I mean, I just don't understand.

00:46:33.460 There are parents who, they never want to say no to their kids.

00:46:36.980 And they're, what are you afraid of?

00:46:39.220 It's like, you tell your four-year-old no, you're afraid he's going to beat you up?

00:46:42.660 What are you afraid?

00:46:44.180 Or he's going to hate you forever because he said no to him one time?

00:46:47.180 Not only am I not afraid to tell my kids no, and I tell them no all the time because they're, because kids ask for a thing.

00:46:56.600 They ask for a hundred things a day.

00:46:58.720 And so there's a lot of opportunities there to say no.

00:47:02.000 Daddy, can I have a snack?

00:47:02.960 Nope.

00:47:04.520 Well, can I have a snack in 10 minutes?

00:47:06.240 No, you just can't have them.

00:47:07.200 That's it.

00:47:08.240 Why?

00:47:09.100 Because you can't.

00:47:10.720 And for me, not only am I not afraid to tell my kids no, but it's, it's, you know, I see it as an opportunity.

00:47:18.260 I'm happy for an opportunity.

00:47:19.860 There's another opportunity to teach them an important lesson, which is sometimes you just get a note.

00:47:25.420 You want to do something and you can't.

00:47:28.860 Okay.

00:47:29.200 And there might even be times when you want to do something and you can't, and you don't even really understand why you can't, but you still can't.

00:47:37.960 Okay.

00:47:38.320 And you have to follow those rules because not only are there rules that you have to follow, but also it's, it's not my job to make sure that you agree with all the rules.

00:47:48.440 I don't have to constantly explain them to you.

00:47:52.180 You, you simply, you'd have to do as you're told.

00:47:54.540 Respect your elders, respect me as a position of authority.

00:47:57.840 These are really important lessons.

00:47:59.460 Uh, and if children are not taught them, then it, uh, I mean, it does immense psychological damage and they become, they become non-functioning adults.

00:48:11.040 They become adults who cannot function in the world.

00:48:12.800 They cannot deal with any kind of rejection.

00:48:15.880 They can't deal with encountering anything they don't agree with or don't like.

00:48:20.080 They, they fall apart because they never got that essential training as kids.

00:48:23.880 Let's see.

00:48:25.180 Danny Pope says, as a father of three, consistency is the biggest part.

00:48:28.300 If you say something, you have to follow through.

00:48:29.800 Everything you tell your children should be consistent.

00:48:31.880 Don't cave in.

00:48:32.820 Don't change the rules.

00:48:34.640 Um, also remind them that you love them anyway.

00:48:37.300 Yes, more very good advice there.

00:48:41.380 Uh, Melissa says, two comments about toddlers from a mom of eight.

00:48:45.080 If they're, if they're tired, sick, or hungry, um, you're not going to be able to do anything about their behavior.

00:48:50.640 Prevention is key.

00:48:51.480 Be vigilant about nap times and meal times.

00:48:53.340 If those needs aren't the problem, if they're just wanting their own way, then require a calm face, voice, and body before they can talk to you.

00:48:59.840 If their wants are reasonable and expressed calmly, give it to them.

00:49:02.860 If they're not, say no and don't negotiate.

00:49:05.380 Um, most of all, stay calm.

00:49:07.920 Yeah, that is also, because there's, there's the other side of this too, which is where you don't want to cave to your child when they're having a temper tantrum.

00:49:15.240 Uh, at the same time, like screaming at them is not going to be the right approach, uh, for a number of reasons.

00:49:22.360 And one of them is that, is that you, you, you are trying to teach your child how to control their emotions.

00:49:29.660 And if you are screaming, control your emotions and screaming this at them, then you're sort of sending the wrong message.

00:49:35.440 You know, you're showing that you can't control your own emotions at the same time.

00:49:39.120 Um, and that's also an important thing.

00:49:42.080 Another comment says, Matt unknowingly outlines gentle parenting, which is incredible.

00:49:46.000 A plus.

00:49:46.440 No, this is not, I'm not, I'm not outlining.

00:49:49.180 You can call it whatever you want.

00:49:51.140 But this is another problem that we have as parents now, because there are a million parenting books out there that people read, I guess.

00:49:58.700 And each book has its own, like, strategy that we put a certain label on.

00:50:03.640 And, oh, well, I'm, I'm this kind of parent, or I'm that kind of parent, or I, I employ this parenting strategy.

00:50:09.260 How about you just, you, you do what, you figure out what actually works and what's going, and all your children, or if you have multiple children, they're all going to be different.

00:50:18.180 They're different human beings.

00:50:19.020 So the exact same strategy might not work for each one.

00:50:21.800 And, but you figure out what that is.

00:50:23.480 And when I say works, it doesn't just mean what works to shut them up and make your life easier.

00:50:28.020 Because we already know what works for that the best.

00:50:30.620 What works for that is give them all the electronic devices, give them a phone, give them a video game, video games, put them in front of a TV.

00:50:37.780 And that's what, you know, that's what works to just shut them up and make your life easier.

00:50:42.780 But that's not what I mean when I say what works.

00:50:44.320 But when I say what works, it's, it's what's going to work towards helping them to become good, well-adjusted functioning people.

00:50:56.100 That's what I mean by works.

00:50:57.340 And it's going to be slightly different for each kid.

00:50:59.560 So you figure that out, you do it.

00:51:00.540 And that's, that's what kind of parent I am.

00:51:02.120 The do-what-works parent.

00:51:03.720 If we've got to put a label on it, that's the label I would choose.

00:51:06.620 In a world filled with uncertainties, it's crucial to be ready for whatever comes your way.

00:51:10.140 Whether it's a natural disaster, a sudden emergency, or unforeseen circumstances,

00:52:04.820 That's preparewithwalsh.com.

00:52:06.540 As you may know, we've been in an ongoing battle with one of the biggest social media platforms out there.

00:52:11.180 Last month, I was demonetized on YouTube, and Candace Owens and Michael Knowles were both suspended for seven days.

00:52:16.320 Even Dr. Jordan B. Peterson was given a channel warning.

00:52:19.620 Most of these so-called violations stem from our coverage of the transgender debate.

00:52:23.860 Being expected to adhere to vague, arbitrary, and constantly changing rules has become increasingly frustrating, to say the least.

00:52:30.280 These rules contradict everything we stand for.

00:52:32.780 However, we will not stop speaking the truth, and we will not allow the left to restrict us from reaching the audience that needs to hear this debate the most.

00:52:41.840 As our CEO, Jeremy Boren, recently tweeted, quote,

00:52:44.220 If platforms like YouTube believe in free speech, then they must change these vague and capricious policies and their arbitrary enforcement.

00:52:50.780 In the meantime, we'll keep fighting and speaking the truth wherever we can.

00:52:54.920 You know, it's become glaringly obvious that we cannot rely on many third-party sites to support us.

00:53:01.140 Daily Wire Plus, then, is the best platform for you to find content that is free from all of big tech's vague guidelines.

00:53:27.820 Now let's get to our daily cancellation.

00:53:29.020 If there's one thing that the absolute worst elements of our society depend on, maybe more than anything else,

00:53:37.640 it's that the majority of sane people have a lot going on in their lives.

00:53:40.940 You know, they have jobs, families, hobbies.

00:53:42.680 They can't keep track of every big scandal they hear about on television and follow it for years to figure out how it turned out.

00:53:48.560 They don't have the time to do that, even if they wanted to.

00:53:50.680 And that's a boon in particular to the modern media, because they know that they can invent whatever lies they want in order to whip millions of people into a frenzy.

00:53:58.340 By the time the truth comes out, most people will have moved on with their lives.

00:54:01.240 They'll have already voted in whatever election was coming up.

00:54:03.240 They certainly won't demand mass firings of all the editors and reporters who lied to them.

00:54:07.820 Won't even remember their names.

00:54:08.920 And if you doubt that, try to recall, just as an example, who exactly told you that Michael Brown was a good kid who had his hands up yelling,

00:54:16.720 don't shoot, when a white supremacist police officer in Ferguson, Missouri shot him for no reason?

00:54:21.820 Can you name any news anchor or journalist specifically who said that?

00:54:26.000 Of course you can.

00:54:26.620 I mean, they all did, but like, what's one particular one?

00:54:29.780 It's impossible to single someone out because the entirety of the corporate media was telling the same lie in unison for six months.

00:54:37.060 And then after all that time and after a wave of deadly riots, the Obama DOJ was forced to admit that actually this good kid was not executed in the middle of the street for no reason.

00:54:46.000 And oh, yeah, he didn't have his hands up in surrender either.

00:54:48.020 In reality, he had charge of the police officer assaulting him and trying to take his gun.

00:54:52.660 And he did that after he roughed up a store owner and stole some cigars.

00:54:56.960 Did any of that extra context matter, though?

00:54:59.860 To this day, college kids still gather in the street yelling, hands up, don't shoot, in honor of Michael Brown.

00:55:04.900 It's not just BLM enforcers in Antifa who say that.

00:55:07.500 A lot of normal, everyday people have the same totally inaccurate view of what happened.

00:55:14.260 What's unspoken here, what no one dares to say in the media, regardless of partisan affiliation,

00:55:19.200 is who the actual victims of these charades are.

00:55:22.560 Now, on the right, you'll occasionally hear people talk about, you know, Michael Brown and his crimes and how he wasn't really a victim.

00:55:27.300 But the name Darren Wilson is usually ignored in those conversations.

00:55:31.440 He's the police officer who happens to be white, who spotted Michael Brown walking in the middle of the street nearly a decade ago.

00:55:37.260 He's the cop Michael Brown started punching without any provocation.

00:55:40.020 How's Darren Wilson doing these days?

00:55:43.180 No one seems to know or care.

00:55:45.260 His lawyer said that he had to go into hiding.

00:55:46.780 He could never be a police officer again.

00:55:48.700 There aren't many recent updates on Darren Wilson's life on the Internet these days.

00:55:52.280 He's just disappeared.

00:55:53.200 His life was destroyed.

00:55:55.060 And that was that.

00:55:55.720 The term scapegoat comes from the ancient Hebrew practice of casting an actual literal goat out into the wilderness as a symbol of the sins of the people and casting out the sins.

00:56:08.360 We are, you know, laying all the sins upon this animal, casting it out.

00:56:13.800 It's an old religious practice that's still carried out today, except in our culture, we find random white people like Darren Wilson to be exiled or destroyed as atonement for white sins specifically. 0.59

00:56:27.360 Oftentimes the scapegoat is vindicated by the facts later on, but it doesn't really matter because the specific facts were never important to the mob and the people demanding this person's head.

00:56:37.780 It doesn't matter what they did or what they didn't do.

00:56:42.300 It matters what they represent.

00:56:45.620 Maybe you recall this story from a few years back.

00:56:48.000 In the late afternoon, several years ago, I think this was back in 2018, two black men walked into a Starbucks in Philadelphia, and they asked to use the bathroom.

00:57:00.140 But the staff told them that the bathroom is for customers only, and that's a pretty common policy, especially in Philadelphia, 0.82

00:57:05.260 because you don't want junkies shooting up in your bathroom.

00:57:08.540 I mean, that's why they have these, that's why they lock the bathrooms. 0.99

00:57:11.460 That's why they say you have to be a customer to use the bathroom. 1.00

00:57:14.060 But the two men didn't buy anything.

00:57:15.580 They just sat down and refused to make a purchase.

00:57:18.980 After that went on for a while, and, you know, one of the staff members came up to them, told them they had to make a purchase or leave.

00:57:26.080 Again, it's a reasonable request because Starbucks is not a homeless shelter.

00:57:30.260 Okay, it's not just a lounge, you know, to go hang out in.

00:57:33.580 But the men refused to take either option, so the Starbucks worker called the police.

00:57:39.000 Eventually, the police arrived, and they did exactly what they were supposed to do.

00:57:42.320 They removed the trespassers.

00:57:44.100 Watch.

00:57:44.320 Don't get no fight with them.

00:57:47.400 Don't get no fight with them.

00:57:50.920 Are you kidding me? 0.99

00:57:51.940 Yeah, I mean, it's ridiculous. 0.99

00:57:55.120 Yeah, it's ridiculous. 0.98

00:57:57.880 I, what did they get called for? 0.99

00:57:59.500 Because there are two black guys sitting here meeting me? 0.60

00:58:01.380 Yes, I didn't get like, well, what did they do?

00:58:03.480 What did they do?

00:58:04.280 Did someone tell me what they did?

00:58:05.600 They didn't do anything.

00:58:06.520 I saw the entire thing.

00:58:07.540 They didn't do anything.

00:58:08.080 They did.

00:58:08.460 They did.

00:58:08.500 They did.

00:58:08.780 And the woman says for the name customer.

00:58:11.940 They didn't do anything.

00:58:14.120 There's a guy in that clip that keeps asking, what did they do?

00:58:32.240 Which, of course, helped the whole incident to go viral.

00:58:34.440 And it went massively viral at the time.

00:58:36.400 After all, you know, if a random guy in the viral video doesn't understand something,

00:58:39.580 then it must be outrageous.

00:58:41.700 But it really wasn't that hard to understand.

00:58:42.980 These two men walked on a private property.

00:58:44.720 They refused to buy anything.

00:58:45.640 And when they were asked to leave, they refused.

00:58:47.420 It's called trespassing, otherwise known as a crime.

00:58:50.600 But when there's a moral panic underway, laws don't apply anymore, apparently.

00:58:55.600 And that all really depends on your skin color.

00:58:57.700 So social media was full of posts proclaiming that this was proof that white supremacy is

00:59:02.220 alive and well in the United States.

00:59:04.040 One of the most viral video, one of the most viral tweets about this episode, which got more

00:59:07.380 than 100,000 likes, read this way, quote, America is a place where a black man has a

00:59:11.660 greater chance of being arrested for going to Starbucks than a white man who commits treason

00:59:15.560 in front of the entire world.

00:59:17.780 Protesters began screaming about racism in the Starbucks store, where this all went down

00:59:22.280 as they were flooding into the store.

00:59:23.920 And this went on for days.

00:59:24.900 Now, instead of standing up to this insanity, as expected, you know, Starbucks, as expected,

00:59:48.960 they would not stand up to it.

00:59:49.900 I mean, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson closed all of the company's stores in the U.S.

00:59:54.760 and Canada, like all the stores because of this, for racial bias training.

00:59:59.880 He also declared that bathrooms in Starbucks henceforth would be open to anyone, paying

01:00:03.700 customers or not.

01:00:04.640 Junkies can sit on the toilet and shoot up all they want.

01:00:07.440 Kevin Johnson later went on CNBC to brag about how well he handled the situation.

01:00:12.220 And in the kiss of death, Jim Cramer praised him for it.

01:00:16.660 Watch.

01:00:16.960 Talk about crisis.

01:00:19.360 Talk about the way you handle it.

01:00:20.280 Because I think when we look back in the textbooks, it's going to be the way you have to handle

01:00:24.040 something that is antithetical to everything you believe in.

01:00:27.380 Well, first of all, Jim, you know, you got to say that when I saw the video of the two

01:00:32.680 gentlemen who were arrested in our store, it was heartbreaking.

01:00:36.060 But I knew at that moment that, you know, as the CEO of the company, I'm accountable and

01:00:41.180 we've got to show up.

01:00:42.200 I've got to show up.

01:00:43.080 And so getting to Philadelphia, being on the ground and talking to everyone that I could

01:00:48.260 talk to and learn from and understand why this happened, how this could happen, and

01:00:52.520 then take action to ensure that it never happens again.

01:00:56.440 Now, we're proud of the actions we've taken.

01:00:58.900 You know, we closed our stores for the afternoon on May 29th.

01:01:02.380 We did the first round of training every month.

01:01:04.860 We're continuing to drop new training modules to our stores.

01:01:08.400 And it has made us a better company.

01:01:10.460 It has allowed us to actually elevate the customer experience in our stores.

01:01:14.840 I have to say, from the point of view of seeing a lot of CEOs address an issue, you got in front of it.

01:01:21.900 Obviously, if Jim Cramer is praising something, it's going to collapse very quickly.

01:01:25.740 And Starbucks' response to this whole episode, which Jim Cramer loved, did just that.

01:01:29.660 About a month after this incident, Starbucks decided to fire an employee named Shannon Phillips.

01:01:35.000 Who is Shannon Phillips?

01:01:35.700 Well, she was a regional manager in charge of 13 Starbucks locations in and around Philadelphia.

01:01:40.380 She was not the store manager in charge of the location where this incident happened.

01:01:45.060 But Shannon Phillips was fired anyway. 0.95

01:01:46.700 Why?

01:01:47.340 Well, here's what Shannon Phillips alleged in her lawsuit against Starbucks.

01:01:50.260 She says that the company, quote,

01:01:51.840 took steps to punish white employees who had not been involved in the arrests,

01:01:55.400 but who worked in and around the city of Philadelphia

01:01:57.520 in an effort to convince the community that it had properly responded to the incident.

01:02:02.160 So Starbucks just looked for a white person to fire, is what they did. 0.98

01:02:07.080 Phillips said that Starbucks told her to punish a white employee for PR purposes, 0.92

01:02:11.800 you know, for just made-up reasons.

01:02:13.560 And when Phillips refused, they fired her.

01:02:16.460 They kept the black employee who ran the store at the center of this incident. 0.68

01:02:20.940 Like, the actual store manager was black.

01:02:22.960 And they kept him, but they can the regional manager.

01:02:26.860 Now, as you may have heard, Phillips just won a $25 million wrongful termination lawsuit against Starbucks.

01:02:31.740 She proved that they discriminated against her because she's a white person

01:02:35.320 who was offered as a sacrificial victim, just like Darren Wilson.

01:02:40.720 And just like so many others.

01:02:42.700 In her case, she was vindicated.

01:02:44.100 She got some restitution.

01:02:45.020 But that's rarely how these things play out.

01:02:47.360 And by the way, just to put a bow on this whole farce,

01:02:49.880 last year, Starbucks reversed its open-door bathroom policy.

01:02:53.660 According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, quote,

01:02:55.560 Starbucks is modifying its open-bathroom policy that allows anyone to use the restroom at its stores.

01:03:00.200 Employees now have the option to close bathrooms if there are safety concerns.

01:03:04.440 In other words, actually, Starbucks still doesn't want junkies shooting up in their bathrooms. 0.83

01:03:08.820 You know, they allowed it for a few years in order to virtue signal,

01:03:11.980 and then they realized that, no, this is actually terrible.

01:03:14.160 This is why we don't want this.

01:03:15.560 Maybe the manager who called the cops five years ago was right after all.

01:03:19.840 Who would have thought?

01:03:21.560 That case is notable because it's so rare.

01:03:23.520 You almost never see vindication for the sacrificial lambs in any of these cases.

01:03:28.000 Certainly, you don't see restitution.

01:03:30.560 You know, you don't see legal vindication anyway.

01:03:33.060 And you almost never see laws against racism applying to actual racists,

01:03:37.100 you know, indiscriminately in this way.

01:03:39.680 Instead, you see what's happening to Daniel Penny,

01:03:41.700 who's the Good Samaritan who restrained a violent lunatic on the New York subway.

01:03:44.900 We finally heard his full side of the story a few days ago, which we played on the show at the time.

01:03:50.720 Now, keep in mind, Daniel Penny is taking a major risk by speaking out.

01:03:54.340 Most defense attorneys tell their clients, and I don't know if this happened with Daniel Penny,

01:03:58.580 but I would assume it did, tell their clients to stay silent and plead the fifth.

01:04:03.220 That's because even if you're innocent, it's easy to slip up and say something a prosecutor can use in court to make the case that you're guilty.

01:04:11.760 So it tells us a lot that Daniel Penny, like Kyle Rittenhouse, is disregarding those risks.

01:04:16.100 He knows what, you know, he knows what happened.

01:04:18.060 He knows the truth.

01:04:19.400 He was listening to music on his headphones, minding his own business,

01:04:21.960 when Jordan Neely, a vagrant with dozens of arrests, including one for punching a senior citizen,

01:04:27.260 actually a couple of senior citizen assaults,

01:04:30.400 began doing exactly what you would expect of a vagrant who punches senior citizens.

01:04:33.820 He was threatening to kill passengers.

01:04:35.220 He was saying that he wasn't afraid to go to jail. 0.91

01:04:37.080 He wasn't afraid to die.

01:04:38.940 Penny, a Marine, then restrained Neely with the help of another passenger,

01:04:42.580 making sure he could breathe.

01:04:43.660 And that's when Neely, who, according to his family,

01:04:46.400 was taking mind-altering synthetic drugs to treat depression, died.

01:04:50.720 It's clear now, as if it wasn't clear already,

01:04:52.680 that Penny was not only in the right, but in fact, acting heroically.

01:04:57.860 And we also know that much of what was originally claimed about the case,

01:05:01.740 especially that Penny choked Neely for 15 minutes, was a lie.

01:05:06.180 The actual incident went on for just a few minutes, like five minutes.

01:05:10.240 But in spite of all those facts, which aren't even in dispute,

01:05:12.460 a grand jury just this week indicted Daniel Penny.

01:05:15.960 He becomes yet another in a long line of scapegoats

01:05:18.900 who happen to share the same skin color.

01:05:22.220 At a certain point, you have to take a step back and recognize

01:05:25.020 that the specifics of all these incidents, again, don't matter to the mob.

01:05:30.360 No one cares that Michael Brown never said, hands up, don't shoot. 0.89

01:05:33.160 No one cares that the two black men in the Starbucks were trespassing. 0.98

01:05:36.040 No one cares that Jordan Neely was threatening to kill people. 0.98

01:05:38.980 All that matters is that Darren Wilson, Shannon Phillips, and Daniel Penny

01:05:42.140 have the wrong skin color.

01:05:44.000 At least that's all that matters to the social media mob,

01:05:47.080 to the media, to the biggest corporations in the country,

01:05:50.880 to the justice system in so many cases.

01:05:54.340 We see it again and again in too many incidents to mention.

01:05:58.680 And they're not worried that Shannon Phillips won $25 million.

01:06:01.100 They think her case is the exception that proves the rule,

01:06:03.180 which is that there are no consequences for lying

01:06:05.620 in the most base and unethical ways possible.

01:06:07.800 What's hopeful, what suggests that they might be very mistaken,

01:06:11.660 is that these sacrificial lambs aren't just going into hiding anymore.

01:06:16.160 Darren Wilson had to disappear nearly a decade ago.

01:06:18.420 That's how powerful the mob was.

01:06:20.480 People like Daniel Penny, they're not hiding.

01:06:22.380 He's going in front of cameras, telling everyone what really happened.

01:06:26.400 Even in Alvin Bragg's New York, you know, of all places, he's doing that.

01:06:30.780 Right now, this is not the norm.

01:06:32.140 But if Daniel Penny wins, as Shannon Phillips did,

01:06:34.220 that could change in a hurry.

01:06:36.940 Once the race hucksters and the outrage merchants know 0.99

01:06:39.280 that their targets aren't going to simply back down

01:06:41.760 and that people will remember what happened to them,

01:06:45.400 then those people start to lose their power.

01:06:48.560 And obviously that can't happen soon enough.

01:06:50.840 But in the meantime, those race hucksters and outrage merchants 1.00

01:06:53.680 are, of course, today canceled.

01:06:56.580 That'll do it for the show today and for the week.

01:06:59.000 Thanks for watching. Thanks for listening.

01:07:00.380 Talk to you on Monday.

01:07:01.820 Have a great weekend. Godspeed.

01:07:04.220 We'll see you next time.
