00:02:07.960 riots erupted in Baltimore, Maryland over the demise of a career criminal named Freddie Gray,

00:02:12.640 who died while in police custody.

00:02:13.940 Now, a few people remember his name today, but at the time, he was the most recently canonized BLM saint

00:02:20.600 and the guy whose death everybody was pretending to mourn.

00:02:24.000 The most memorable thing about that moment in history, though, isn't Freddie Gray himself or even the riots,

00:02:29.820 but what the then mayor of the city said the day after, the day after, as the media put it,

00:02:35.480 peaceful protests took a violent turn.

00:02:38.180 Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake stood in front of news cameras

00:02:40.880 and told the world that she had decided to give, quote,

00:02:44.700 those who wish to destroy space to do that as well.

00:02:48.940 Now, by her own testimony, she had instructed law enforcement to stand by

00:02:52.100 and give rioters space to destroy their own community,

00:02:56.440 to let off some steam and vent their frustrations by committing crimes.

00:03:01.380 At the time, it was shocking that a political leader would openly allow that kind of behavior

00:03:05.500 and even admit that she was allowing it.

00:03:07.580 It also cast the riots in an even more bizarrely childish light.

00:03:12.020 The rioters were now like children having a temper tantrum in the grocery store,

00:03:15.640 and the mayor was the overly lenient pushover parent allowing the scene to continue.

00:03:20.740 But as Mayor Rawlings-Blake discovered,

00:03:23.760 the problem with giving space to destroy is that eventually you will want them to stop destroying.

00:03:29.460 And then at that point, you'll have to do exactly the thing that you could have

00:03:32.920 and should have done the moment that the lawlessness started.

00:03:35.640 And when you do that, the rioters will not at that point thank you

00:03:40.320 for having given them more time and space than they ever deserved.

00:03:46.740 they will claim to be oppressed, just as they would have if you had enforced the law from the beginning.

00:03:56.800 And yet, city leaders all across the country in the years since have adopted the same strategy.

00:04:02.960 And in recent weeks, as you've heard, university officials have embraced the space destroy approach as well.

00:04:08.140 And last night, that decision, as it always does, inevitably, came to a head.

00:04:12.320 After allowing leftist pro-Hamas demonstrators to maintain an illegal encampment for many days,

00:04:17.480 Columbia University finally brought in the NYPD to arrest the criminals.

00:04:21.000 A decision that was only made after they broke into and occupied a building on campus.

00:04:27.120 When the police arrived in full force with riot shields and zip ties and buses to arrest and detain the demonstrators,

00:04:33.760 it didn't take very long before the situation was brought under control.

00:04:37.160 And the authorities had wrestled back the property that had been illegally seized.

00:04:41.360 There were many videos of this operation as it unfolded,

00:04:44.720 often posted by leftist groups who expected the public to be shocked and horrified by the images.

00:05:22.740 SWAT and SRG have invaded Columbia's campus and are entering Hinn's Hall.

00:05:26.960 They have forced out all the press to prevent recordings of their brutality.

00:05:31.580 But as you saw in their own video, there was no brutality.

00:05:35.780 It was literally just the police shouting, get back.

00:05:38.620 That was the brutality.

00:05:40.320 They were raising their voices.

00:05:42.300 Oh, dear God.

00:05:43.640 Really, this was just the police enforcing the law.

00:05:45.680 And they were not invading anything.

00:05:47.500 It's the pro-Hamas protesters that had illegally invaded a building.

00:05:51.120 A building that isn't called Hinn's Hall, by the way, but rather Hamilton Hall, because

00:05:55.680 the protesters had not only burglarized and occupied the building, but also attempted

00:05:59.340 to rename it.

00:06:00.260 They expected us to be deeply disturbed and outraged on their behalf that their act of organized

00:06:06.240 burglary and trespassing is no longer allowed to continue.

00:06:10.040 And indeed, many on the left, including prominent politicians who spoke out, did express outrage.

00:06:14.820 According to them, these protesters should be allowed to do whatever they want indefinitely

00:06:18.480 and break whatever laws they want to break for as long as they want to break them without

00:06:23.200 facing any consequences whatsoever.

00:06:25.500 Like, that is their actual position.

00:06:28.160 Nonetheless, dozens of the criminals were arrested, and now they will face not only criminal

00:06:33.380 charges, but expulsion.

00:06:35.360 They will be then thousands of dollars in debt with no college degree, which means they'll

00:06:41.220 be in only slightly worse shape than the people who are thousands of dollars in debt with

00:06:44.760 a college degree.

00:06:45.380 Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, the illegal encampment on UCLA's campus was

00:06:49.860 also invaded, but not by police.

00:06:54.280 Roughly 100 pro-Israel vigilantes stormed the Palestine Solidarian encampment at the University

00:06:59.540 of California, Los Angeles, late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, sparking battles

00:07:03.460 with activists.

00:07:04.460 The raid occurred after nearly a week in which UCLA not only allowed the encampment to occupy

00:07:08.360 the main plaza on campus, but also allowed pro-Palestinian activists to run their own security,

00:07:13.480 barring access to students and the public.

00:07:17.060 Here's what this, quote unquote, raid looked like.

00:07:43.880 Okay, so, I mean, not exactly, you know, this is not exactly Braveheart.

00:08:07.120 The battle that we're seeing here is, it sounds a lot worse than it is when you see it on video.

00:08:14.800 But nonetheless, this is what happens when you grant one group special privileges to break the law and all of the rules.

00:08:21.860 Not only break the rules, but come up with their own rules.

00:08:25.100 When you allow them to seize a part of the campus and decide who's allowed to walk through it.

00:08:31.080 That sort of wildly unjust, disproportionate situation can only continue for so long before everybody else, the people expected to abide by the law, have simply had enough of the double standard and decide to take matters into their own hands.

00:08:45.500 If you don't want that to happen, and you definitely shouldn't want it to happen, then enforce the rules equally and hold everyone to the same standard.

00:08:54.140 Which means that not only should, you know, which means that nobody should be allowed to maintain any kind of illegal encampment on the campus at all.

00:09:02.940 When pro-life protesters sat peacefully outside of an abortion clinic for a few hours on one single morning, the Biden administration sent armed federal agents to their homes to drag them away in handcuffs.

00:09:16.620 And then convicted them of felonies and now wants to send them to prison for 10 years.

00:09:21.160 When January 6th protesters trespass in the Capitol, the federal government responded by spending the next three years hunting them down one by one and tossing them in prison.

00:09:29.560 So when the left objects to how these pro-Hamas protesters are being treated, it's not because these protesters are being handled harshly.

00:09:37.860 They're being handled with kid gloves, especially compared to what protesters and demonstrators on the right experience.

00:09:46.280 So that's not their problem.

00:09:47.120 Their problem is that the left believes that their protesters, the ones on their side, should be given free reign to do whatever they want.

00:09:56.060 And if they are stopped from doing anything at all, then they are automatically oppressed.

00:10:02.340 This is the sense of entitlement obviously shared by the protesters themselves, which is what led to this unintentionally hilarious moment at Columbia University yesterday afternoon, a few hours before the police raid.

00:10:14.120 An unofficial spokeswoman for the demonstrators gave a press conference where she made a number of demands.

00:10:20.660 Now, according to reporting from Noah Pollack, a contributor to the Free Beacon, this woman's name is Johanna King Slutsky.

00:10:28.180 And according to her bio, Johanna is working on a dissertation on, quote,

00:10:31.500 Now, it's a shame to think that the world will never get to read this full dissertation now that Johanna is probably going to be expelled.

00:10:54.480 We'll have to continue on somehow without the vital information that she was going to provide us about the fantasies of limitless energy or whatever.

00:11:03.620 But in any case, now that you know what sort of person we're talking about, you will not be surprised by the demands that she made during this press conference.

00:11:12.060 Protesters have voiced their intention to remain at Hint Hall until Columbia concedes to Quad's three demands, which are divestment, financial transparency and amnesty.

00:11:26.160 Resistance is justified in the movement for liberation.

00:11:30.640 Liberators acting in solidarity with Palestine continue to hold themselves to a higher standard than Columbia.

00:11:37.200 I cannot stress this enough. A higher standard than Columbia.

00:11:40.220 This university has repeatedly endangered its students by instituting a police state with military style checkpoints, repressing and isolating students on campus,

00:11:52.880 calling armed riot cops for the largest mass arrests on campus since 1968 and weaponizing food insecurity and houselessness in order to escalate and use as leverage in negotiations.

00:12:06.940 Colombia has forced protesters to escalate by contributing to a genocide while refusing to follow the baseline standards of conduct that make negotiations possible.

00:12:19.080 Okay, so those are the demands.

00:12:21.260 They say that they're willing to negotiate.

00:12:22.940 They will enter into negotiations, but only if Columbia University follows the rules that the burglars and trespassers have set out.

00:12:30.500 Now, of course, the problem for the group is that they have absolutely no leverage whatsoever.

00:12:36.000 They can simply be removed from the building and arrested at any time.

00:12:42.540 Nothing but the privilege they've been granted to cosplay as revolutionaries.

00:12:53.200 But the most striking and hilarious part of this bizarre press conference was when she made a plea for, and I quote, humanitarian aid.

00:13:01.880 Why should the university be obligated to provide food to people who have taken over a building?

00:13:11.080 Well, first of all, we're saying that they're obligated to provide food to students who pay for a meal plan here.

00:13:17.080 But you mentioned that there was a request that food and water be brought in.

00:13:20.460 Unless I misunderstood.

00:13:21.080 To allow it to be brought in.

00:13:22.220 And, I mean, well, I guess it's ultimately a question of what kind of community and obligation Columbia feels it has to its students.

00:13:29.020 Do you want students to die of dehydration and starvation or get severely ill, even if they disagree with you?

00:13:35.680 If the answer is no, then you should allow basic, I mean, it's crazy to say because we're on an Ivy League campus,

00:13:41.260 but this is like basic humanitarian aid we're asking for.

00:13:43.620 Like, could people please have a glass of water?

00:13:45.680 But they did put themselves in that, very deliberately, in that situation and in that position.

00:13:53.000 So it seems like you're sort of saying, we want to be revolutionaries, we want to take over this building.

00:13:58.400 Now would you please bring us food and water?

00:14:00.780 Nobody's asking them to bring anything.

00:14:03.100 We're asking them to not violently stop us from bringing in basic humanitarian aid.

00:14:08.580 So just to be completely clear here, the humanitarian aid they're requesting is Chipotle deliveries.

00:14:14.360 So the next time you order a burrito bowl on DoorDash, remember, you're not ordering lunch.

00:14:22.020 So these protesters committed burglary and trespassing.

00:14:25.160 They hold themselves up in a building where they didn't belong and had no right to be.

00:14:29.260 They barricaded the doors and refused to come out and then demanded that free food be delivered to them

00:14:34.660 so that they don't, as they claim they're on the verge of doing, starve to death.

00:14:38.780 This is the level of pathological, insane, delusional, narcissistic entitlement that we're dealing with here.

00:14:45.640 It's exactly the mentality that these college campuses intentionally instill and which is now being wielded against them.

00:14:52.120 But most of all, this goes to show just how fake all of this is.

00:14:56.720 I hope that's the first thing you notice when you watch all this.

00:15:01.180 All this, that person you just saw there on camera, it's just incredibly fake.

00:15:06.840 Now, you could say these kids are radical leftists, and that's certainly true.

00:15:09.860 You can say that they're anti-American, and that's true too, which is why they've taken down American flags,

00:15:14.100 replaced them with Palestinian flags, they've shouted death to America, and so on.

00:15:17.980 You can say that they're anti-white, and they see Israel as a vehicle of whiteness, and that's why they hate it so much.

00:15:25.280 You could say that some of these protesters actually are anti-Semites who hate Jews as a group.

00:15:29.580 And that's obviously true.

00:15:30.660 We've heard enough from some of them to know that.

00:15:32.600 But before any of that, what we must say about these protesters and their protests is that it is all fake, phony, pretend.

00:15:41.820 It is all one big performance.

00:15:45.200 The average American today, the average American, lives a life of such comfort and luxury that the pharaohs of ancient Egypt would look at them with envy.

00:15:55.680 Ivy League students have lives significantly more luxurious and comfortable than that.

00:15:59.880 You know, it's estimated that about 100 billion humans have lived on Earth since the dawn of the species.

00:16:06.200 Those kids setting up encampments and demanding free Panera bread have more wealth and privilege than almost all of those 100 billion humans.

00:16:15.180 They quite easily have it better than 99.9% of all humans who have ever lived.

00:16:20.580 These kids have never experienced hardship.

00:16:25.440 They've never experienced persecution.

00:16:27.680 They've never experienced suffering or sacrifice.

00:16:30.200 They don't even know what those words mean.

00:16:32.500 Most of them haven't even experienced being told no about anything ever.

00:16:39.820 And this has made them not only entitled beyond all imagining, but also bored and dull and desperate to find meaning in pretended oppression.

00:16:51.500 They have no religion, most of them, no belief in God, no source of meaning in their lives.

00:16:55.880 And they subscribe to an ideology that paints all the world and all of history as a struggle between persecutor and persecuted.

00:17:02.520 They want to be in the latter group, if only so they can feel better about themselves and also experience some excitement in a life that otherwise consists of sitting around and staring at screens while all of their needs are met at the snap of a finger.

00:17:16.140 Their whole worldview is a part of this game of pretend.

00:17:23.380 Everything these people say and do.

00:17:25.320 You know, they walk around every day in a fantasy world, one where they are the revolutionaries fighting back against a racist, white supremacist, handmaid's tale system that seeks to annihilate and enslave them.

00:17:38.700 And they maintain this fantasy and double down on it, even as the system affords them every privilege it possibly can.

00:17:45.620 In fact, the more privileges they're given, the deeper they must immerse themselves into this fantasy role-playing game so that they can maintain the fiction.

00:17:56.500 Now, of course, if they really desire depression and suffering, they could go find it.

00:18:01.580 There's always the option to actually forego their comfortable lives and move to a part of the world where they will experience the sort of deprivation and persecution that they spend their whole lives pretending to struggle against.

00:18:11.540 But they don't want the fantasy to become real any more than, you know, somebody fighting zombies in an arcade game wants to look over and find himself surrounded by the monsters in real life.

00:18:22.920 They want to keep it all inside the game, inside the virtual reality fantasy, which is what all of this really is.

00:18:31.900 Until, eventually, a piece of reality breaks through the barrier and imposes itself on them.

00:18:38.760 And in this case, they find themselves arrested and expelled from school.

00:18:43.160 You know, the good news is that now they have a real misfortune to complain about.

00:18:50.220 And the worst news of all is that they will almost certainly learn nothing from the experience.

00:20:36.100 Supporters of legislation say it will help combat anti-Semitism on college campuses, but opponents say it overreaches and threatens to chill free speech.

00:20:43.980 The bill would mandate that when the Department of Education enforces federal anti-discrimination laws, it uses a definition of anti-Semitism put forward by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.

00:20:55.640 New York Republican Mike Lawler, who introduced legislation, said in a statement,

00:20:58.840 It's critical that we crack down on anti-Semitic hate within our own country.

00:21:04.560 The American Civil Literaries Union, however, has called on lawmakers to oppose the bill.

00:21:08.580 In a letter to representatives, the ACLU wrote,

00:21:11.180 Federal law already prohibits anti-Semitic discrimination and harassment by federally funded entities.

00:21:17.080 H.R. 6090 is therefore not needed to protect against anti-Semitic discrimination.

00:21:21.660 Instead, it would likely chill free speech of students on college campuses by incorrectly equating criticism of the Israeli government with anti-Semitism.

00:21:33.220 I don't like it because, first of all, I oppose anything that even resembles a hate speech law.

00:21:38.300 But then on the other side, we have the ACLU pretending to care about free speech,

00:21:42.340 when in most cases they're diametrically opposed to free speech.

00:21:45.420 And they're even criticizing the bill because it supposedly is redundant.

00:21:49.960 Except, you know, this same organization has come out in favor of all kinds of anti-hate bills and laws

00:21:57.100 that both chill free speech and prohibit things that are already prohibited.

00:22:50.340 about, you know, they're going to have a new definition of anti-Semitism in the law.

00:22:55.420 None of the articles say what that is.

00:22:57.200 Like, how do you report on this bill about the new definition of anti-Semitism

00:23:02.160 without even telling us what it is?

00:23:04.000 Isn't that the main question here?

00:23:06.600 But they don't.

00:23:07.260 So, let's go to the text of the bill and see if we can learn more.

00:23:10.720 I mean, surely the bill itself will tell us what the definition is, right?

00:23:15.400 So, let me read a little bit from the bill.

00:23:19.980 Anti-Semitism is on the rise in the United States as impacting Jewish students in K-12 schools, colleges, and universities.

00:23:26.160 The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance working definition of anti-Semitism

00:23:29.340 is a vital tool which helps individuals understand and identify the various manifestations of anti-Semitism.

00:23:34.480 Now, what is the actual definition of anti-Semitism?

00:23:40.320 I'm still looking for that.

00:23:42.540 I'm skimming through it right now.

00:23:43.900 For purpose of this act, the term definition of anti-Semitism means the definition of anti-Semitism

00:23:48.700 adopted on May 26th by the IHRA, of which the United States is a member,

00:23:54.840 which definition has been adopted by the Department of State

00:23:57.140 and includes the contemporary examples of anti-Semitism identified in the IHRA definition.

00:24:03.780 Okay, and it's a short bill, and looking through it, that's basically what it says.

00:24:09.580 So, if you perhaps noticed, the bill wants to update the definition of anti-Semitism,

00:24:14.680 but it doesn't actually say what the new definition is.

00:24:19.180 And that's, you can go look for yourself.

00:24:20.500 This is a bill that updates the definition of anti-Semitism,

00:24:23.400 but the bill itself does not tell you what that definition is, which is crazy, right?

00:24:31.040 So, we've now read an article about a bill changing the definition of anti-Semitism,

00:24:36.300 and the bill itself, which does the change,

00:24:41.040 and we still don't know what the definition actually is.

00:24:44.560 They refer to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and its definition,

00:24:48.640 as if, like, we all know that off the top of our head,

00:24:51.640 as if they will, as if we're all saying,

00:24:54.000 oh, yeah, oh, yeah, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
