00:05:27.860 Tens of thousands of people claimed that the footage was proof that white supremacy is alive and well.

00:05:33.220 And in turn, as we saw with Shiloh Hendricks, a Give, Send, Go fundraiser was established to support Crystal.

00:05:38.960 Many people who are tired of these dumb stories and cancellations in general chipped in.

00:05:44.860 And as of now, it's raised nearly $100,000 and counting.

00:05:47.980 So already in about 48 hours, she's earned a lot more than she would have made in several years working at Cinnabon.

00:05:57.080 Then as the outrage cycle continued, additional footage emerged, showing 10 seconds from before the viral footage.

00:06:06.020 And this is still out of context, but it gives you a little more context.

00:06:22.920 Now, as best I can tell from piecing together various accounts, the allegation here is that a couple of Somalis ordered a Cinnabon.

00:06:38.560 Because people from third world countries, where everybody is starving, they come here and immediately start complaining that their cinnamon rolls don't have enough caramel.

00:06:49.340 And in response, according to the Somalis, this is their version of the story, to be clear.

00:06:53.440 The Cinnabon employee allegedly made fun of the woman's hijab, saying something to the effect of,

00:07:11.340 And then in response, the Somalis allegedly mocked the Cinnabon employee for not wearing a hijab, which is what you just heard in that last clip.

00:07:21.380 The other version of the story circulating online is that the Somalis harangued the woman unprovoked for not wearing the hijab.

00:07:55.060 And meanwhile, on the left, they're trying to turn these Somalis into the next George and Georgette Floyd

00:09:59.700 And because her behavior in this footage is so over the top, almost like a caricature of how a, quote, racist MAGA Republican would act, that, you know, it raises the possibility that this is an elaborate stunt.

00:10:59.160 But major news outlets aren't interested in the fact that a minimum wage fast food employee had a verbal spat with customers who were almost certainly provoking her.

00:11:14.600 It's only a story because of the magical power that we have imbued on one specific racial slur.

00:12:06.140 This is from a local Fox station in Portland reporting on a stabbing back in July of this year.

00:12:12.320 Now know the name of the person arrested for a stabbing in downtown Portland that injured a person.

00:12:18.720 Today, police announced that 42-year-old Gary Omar Edwards was arrested on assault charges.

00:12:24.420 It stems from a stabbing that happened on Northwest 5th Street just after 930 yesterday morning.

00:12:30.220 Police say a person was stabbed in the shoulder area and went to the hospital with serious injuries.

00:12:35.120 Edwards was arrested by the Central Bike Squad.

00:12:38.020 There's no word on the stabbing victim's condition.

00:12:40.220 Now, at the time, it seemed like a pretty open and shut case.

00:12:45.540 A black man named Gary Edwards, who had previous convictions for attempted second-degree assault

00:12:50.120 and who had been sentenced to three years in prison for another stabbing on the public transit system,

00:12:56.100 had seriously injured yet another unarmed individual named Gregory Howard, who was sitting on a bench.

00:13:00.920 And in a rare case of Portland police actually doing something, Gary Edwards was quickly arrested

00:13:05.100 and charged with second-degree assault, as he should have been.

00:13:09.760 But just five months later, Gary Edwards has been acquitted for stabbing and nearly killing a white guy in broad daylight.

00:13:17.920 He will not face any punishment at all.

00:13:21.740 And that's not because there's any dispute about whether Edwards had stabbed the victim.

00:13:27.680 I mean, it's on camera.

00:13:30.660 But what happened is that the victim, after the attack, was captured on police body camera, saying the N-word.

00:13:40.020 And based on that fact alone, the fact that the victim uttered the unmentionable word,

00:13:49.840 An Old Town stabbing case ended in defeat for Multnomah County prosecutors.

00:13:54.920 Once jurors learned, the wounded man had been videoed uttering a racist slur in the struggle's aftermath.

00:14:01.480 Transit cameras show Edwards, a fixed-blade knife clasped at his side,

00:14:05.860 approaching Howard from behind as he sat on a bench.

00:14:08.900 The video has no sound, but Howard springs up and pushes Edwards as soon as he sees him.

00:14:13.460 The duo scuffle against a wall for a brief moment, ending with Edwards stabbing Howard in the shoulder.

00:14:18.200 Defense attorney Daniel Small said the most relevant evidence was recorded later

00:14:21.840 when security officers heard the wounded man shouting the racist slur

00:14:25.380 and captured it on their body cameras as he described the incident.

00:14:40.100 What other than racism could explain why Mr. Howard perceived hatred, animosity, and aggression from a complete stranger?

00:14:54.480 Well, maybe it was the fact that Gary Edwards approached the victim from behind with a knife out.

00:15:09.520 Maybe that's why the victim perceived aggression and immediately pushed Edwards away.

00:15:13.740 Maybe he didn't want to get randomly stabbed just like the other person that Edwards stabbed on the public transit system.
