The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1718 - Domestic Terrorists Have Officially Taken Over Minneapolis. Here's What Needs To Be Done

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, left-wing terrorists are now breaking into ICE vehicles and stealing classified documents and firearms.

00:00:06.200 Now is the time for the Insurrection Act we'll discuss.

00:00:08.680 Also, Oprah goes on The View to explain that overeating doesn't make you obese.

00:00:13.440 This is science, she says.

00:00:14.960 Speaking of science, Senator Josh Hawley questions a doctor at a congressional hearing about whether men can get pregnant.

00:00:20.080 This was apparently not an easy question for the expert witness to answer.

00:00:23.560 We'll talk about all that and more today on the Matt Wall Show.

00:00:30.000 We'll be right back.

00:01:00.320 Reddit addicts and the otherwise neurodivergent, as they're called now, perpetually unemployed residents of the state of Minnesota.

00:01:07.120 They were all glued to their televisions.

00:01:09.340 And that's because in a live primetime address, the governor of the state, Tim Walls, gave everyone their marching orders for how to deal with the fact that ICE is enforcing immigration law in their neighborhoods,

00:01:20.500 which the vast majority of Americans voted for in the last free and open democratic election.

00:01:25.460 And for many days now, Walls has basically been preparing the entire state for their Fort Sumter moment.

00:01:32.580 He's been priming Minnesota to go to war with the federal government.

00:01:35.700 And last night, he took the stage.

00:01:37.580 Now, at the outset, you might be thinking that it's very unfortunate, to put it mildly, that the state of Minnesota is taking marching orders related to immigration enforcement from a governor who's just been implicated in a scheme to defraud the taxpayers to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars,

00:01:52.580 a fraud scheme that primarily involves foreigners who have no right to live in the country. 0.88

00:01:56.780 Indeed, that might even seem like a really severe conflict of interest.

00:02:02.380 The foreigners come in here, steal from the taxpayer, enrich Tim Walls' associates, and benefit his political party. 1.00

00:02:08.740 And now he's leading the charge to keep those same foreigners inside the country. 1.00

00:02:14.600 But in Minnesota, none of this is a problem.

00:02:16.360 They all eagerly awaited the serious, somber speech from Tim Walls.

00:02:21.120 And here's how it went.

00:02:24.060 The federal government is raining down upon our communities.

00:02:27.560 Two to three thousand armed agents of the federal government have been deployed to Minnesota.

00:02:33.060 Armed, masked, under-trained ICE agents are going door-to-door, ordering people to point out where their neighbors of color live.

00:02:41.580 They're pulling over people, indiscriminate, armed, masked, masked, under-trained ICE agents are going door-to-door, ordering people to point out where their neighbors of color live.

00:02:53.520 They're breaking windows.

00:02:56.140 Now, you might have been listening to that and sort of felt like you were having a stroke, but you weren't.

00:03:01.860 You probably noticed that someone else was talking in the background there.

00:03:04.600 Well, that's not something we added in post-production.

00:03:07.220 It's an echo of Tim Walls' voice that came through during the live broadcast, which is obviously not ideal.

00:03:13.820 It kind of undercuts the intended vibe of recreating the Gettysburg Address because, if I remember my history right, Lincoln wasn't being drowned out with crosstalk the entire time.

00:03:23.920 And unlike the Gettysburg Address, in this speech, Walls made a series of claims that were completely made up.

00:03:30.680 We're talking about total fabrications without even a hint of evidence to support them.

00:03:34.760 He's claiming that ICE is ordering people to point out where their neighbors of color live, which has never happened.

00:03:43.800 So, Walls wants you to imagine that ICE will come banging on your door and shout,

00:03:48.680 Where are the brown people? 1.00

00:03:50.440 And you'll shake in fear, hoping they don't discover the Mexicans hiding in your attic. 1.00

00:03:55.440 And, of course, if you aren't retarded, it's pretty hard to imagine this scenario because it's so fake. 0.98

00:04:00.520 But Tim Walls is speaking, rather specifically, to a retarded audience. 0.99

00:04:05.420 He calls the agents untrained, even though every single one of them is actually well-trained.

00:04:09.760 He says they're pulling over and kidnapping people indiscriminately, which has also never happened, not once.

00:04:16.020 He calls ICE operations an occupation, which it isn't.

00:04:20.400 He says ICE is demanding to see the papers of U.S. citizens, which, in addition to being false, doesn't make sense.

00:04:26.040 The implication is that if a citizen isn't carrying their papers, whatever that would even be, then ICE will deport them.

00:04:33.660 But that's never happened either.

00:04:36.200 So, Walls is merely repeating, without any evidence whatsoever, the various fictional claims that Democrat mobs have concocted in Minneapolis over the past few weeks.

00:04:45.180 This is always what leftists do in situations like this.

00:04:48.120 Usually we see this kind of behavior when they are trying to canonize the latest BLM martyr. 0.78

00:04:52.580 They simply lie endlessly because they recognize the fundamental weakness of their actual position.

00:04:57.820 In this case, their actual position is that they want open borders.

00:05:01.540 They don't want us to enforce the laws of the country.

00:05:05.040 Well, they know that's indefensible.

00:05:07.120 They know most Americans don't want open borders.

00:05:09.860 And they know that Minnesota's sanctuary laws are forcing ICE to go into neighborhoods to detain these criminals rather than make arrests at courthouses and jails.

00:05:19.020 So, rather than defend their sanctuary open border policies, they're just lying relentlessly.

00:05:26.700 You know, they're trying to rile people up and encourage violence against ICE officers, which is exactly what happened shortly after Walls delivered that speech.

00:05:35.180 They want more and more violence between the state and the federal government because that's how civil wars start. 0.89

00:05:42.060 That's how they intend to destroy our constitutional system of government.

00:05:46.020 And we'll have more on that in a second. 0.58

00:05:47.700 But the really interesting thing about the Walls clip isn't the fact that he lied or repeated dumb Reddit talking points. 0.97

00:05:56.180 Really, at least the first very noticeable thing is that, and what you'll always notice about this guy, is that he looks and sounds like such a weasel. 0.96

00:06:05.520 Even if you don't listen to a word he says, even if you play his speech without volume, it's impossible to ignore that he comes across like an extremely weak-willed, flimsy man. 0.99

00:06:16.500 He seems like, and he is, a pathetic sissy, a spineless, effeminate, scheming little weakling. 0.99

00:06:24.260 And of course, as we've seen again and again, this is a common phenotype on the left. 1.00

00:06:28.680 And it's been on display repeatedly during these anti-ice riots. 0.97

00:06:32.900 The left is governed by and consists of an army of shrieking, deeply unpleasant fanatics and liars who are viscerally unappealing on every level. 0.95

00:06:47.560 These are not remotely authentic or believable human beings. 0.97

00:06:52.520 These are politicians who will say whatever their masters want them to say.

00:06:56.240 They'll lie, as a matter of course, in ways that no sane person could possibly take seriously.

00:07:03.140 They'll compare federal law enforcement officials to the Gestapo, not because they think it's true, but because they think it will work.

00:07:09.200 They think that when they hear these attacks, conservatives will back down.

00:07:13.780 And they think that if they lie enough and berate ICE officers enough, then the Trump administration will just pull ICE out of Minneapolis.

00:07:21.120 But that's why it is to Donald Trump's credit that for the first time in generations, the strategy isn't working at the moment.

00:07:30.140 Instead, in response to left-wing obstruction and domestic terrorism in Minneapolis,

00:07:34.200 Trump is sending thousands more ICE officers into the city, not pulling back, even as leftists become increasingly unhinged and violent.

00:07:42.900 And that's the only workable approach.

00:07:44.620 You simply cannot allow violent mobs to suspend the results of a democratic election,

00:07:49.260 which is exactly what the self-described party of democracy is attempting to do here.

00:07:54.220 They know that most Americans voted to preserve our borders and our national sovereignty.

00:07:59.260 They know that most Americans voted for mass deportations.

00:08:03.520 And now leftists in Minnesota are trying to reverse the results of a democratic election using mob violence,

00:08:08.880 which is what communists always do.

00:08:10.360 And they usually win, unless they're crushed.

00:08:13.880 Now last night, just like Renee Goodes, some of these communists in Minnesota again turned to violence. 0.56

00:08:17.960 As you probably heard, there was yet another ICE-involved shooting in Minneapolis.

00:08:23.540 According to DHS, around 6.50 p.m., ICE was attempting to stop an illegal alien from Venezuela

00:08:28.960 who was released into the country by Joe Biden in 2022.

00:08:33.060 The alien fled his car, then crashed into a parked car before running away on foot.

00:08:38.920 When law enforcement caught up with him, the illegal alien began attacking the officers.

00:08:43.660 And then two individuals, apparently family members of this person, came out of a nearby apartment

00:08:48.340 and began ambushing the officers with a shovel and a broom handle.

00:08:52.540 And then the illegal alien got free and joined in on the attack. 0.99

00:08:57.240 And that's when the officer fired shots to defend himself.

00:08:59.800 And at this point, everyone's expected to live, and the attackers are now in custody.

00:09:04.000 Another clear-cut, totally justified shooting by law enforcement.

00:09:08.460 And yet another sign that sooner or later, Democrats are going to get ICE officers killed,

00:09:14.220 which is their goal here, obviously.

00:09:16.820 That's what they want to happen.

00:09:19.240 And when that happens, there will be a showdown over who exactly controls the National Guard of Minnesota

00:09:24.160 and whether the army needs to be brought in.

00:09:28.740 You know, that's where this is headed.

00:09:30.100 That's why these people are harassing ICE in such large numbers.

00:09:33.120 This was the scene after the shooting yesterday.

00:09:36.480 The mob formed immediately.

00:09:37.600 They began destroying law enforcement vehicles

00:09:39.600 and stealing firearms and documents from inside those vehicles.

00:09:44.300 They also berated law enforcement.

00:09:46.460 It's like a scene out of Fallujah.

00:09:48.660 Watch.

00:09:49.020 落ish! 0.85

00:09:50.760 Irres! 0.96

00:09:54.300 Irres! 0.96

00:09:57.300 Irres! 0.96

00:09:59.620 Irres! 0.96

00:10:01.560 Irres! 0.96

00:10:03.500 Irres! 0.96

00:10:10.860 Oh! 0.60

00:10:12.140 Oh! 0.60

00:10:15.960 Wow!

00:10:16.640 Oh, my God.

00:10:20.740 Oh, my God.

00:10:30.640 Bullets?

00:10:32.620 It's a bullet.

00:10:35.080 Dude, what are you doing?

00:10:38.040 What made you sign your house and do this to us?

00:10:42.500 Is your dad small?

00:10:44.900 Is it?

00:10:46.640 Did your uncle touch you at Christmas?

00:10:51.240 The level of projection in those taunts is pretty apparent.

00:10:56.760 Also a really strangely specific taunt from that guy. 0.99

00:11:01.740 But as pathetic as they are, these people are managing to do real damage. 0.96

00:11:06.620 As you just saw, they stole weapons from outside the back of the ICE vehicle. 0.99

00:11:10.980 But they also took more than that.

00:11:12.100 Late last night, various Antifa live streams revealed that these domestic terrorists have obtained a significant amount of documentation from inside the ICE vehicles that were left behind as the mob surrounded them.

00:11:24.540 And specifically, according to those live streams, they've obtained the full names of many ICE agents, the location of the hotels that they're staying in, including the room numbers, and so on.

00:11:34.400 They've also obtained FBI badges and badge numbers, and they're broadcasting it all over the Internet.

00:11:40.580 Well, this is unequivocally domestic terrorism.

00:11:43.380 We need to see prosecutions and crackdowns as soon as possible for everybody involved in this.

00:11:48.820 They're all on camera.

00:11:50.980 The residents of Minnesota are waging a campaign of terrorism against federal law enforcement, which is carrying out lawful orders.

00:11:58.280 Thousands more federal agents need to be sent to Minneapolis at a minimum.

00:12:03.860 That's what sane Americans want to see, the restoration of law and order.

00:12:06.700 And indeed, that does appear to be what's coming next.

00:12:09.580 Within minutes of the shooting, federal Bureau of Prison guards were on the scene, keeping the agitators at bay and preventing ICE from being overwhelmed.

00:12:19.280 They prevented ICE agents from being dragged away by the mob and murdered, which is what they wanted.

00:12:24.000 They apparently weren't able to prevent some ICE vehicles from being looted, but they did prevent any loss of life.

00:12:29.920 Fox also reported that ICE's special response team, which is their SWAT team, essentially, deployed as well.

00:12:36.040 So this was a unified, immediate response to flood the area with manpower.

00:12:40.020 And very soon, we can expect many more federal agents in Minneapolis because the population is clearly out of control.

00:12:45.600 I mean, they've gone full Canada in Minneapolis, and they need to be dealt with. 1.00

00:12:51.680 All of their screeching and whining needs to be ignored.

00:12:55.920 Minneapolis has been ground zero for lawless chaos for years now.

00:13:01.120 The rest of us are sick of it.

00:13:03.480 The whole city must be taught a lesson.

00:13:05.800 How much do we have to deal with from these people?

00:13:10.160 They must be punished.

00:13:11.420 It's a city full of overgrown children that won't learn anything unless they're forced to learn it the hard way.

00:13:19.180 Well, it's time for the hard way. 1.00

00:13:22.640 These are also, we should note, some of the most annoying assholes to ever walk the earth. 0.99

00:13:26.600 Here's exhibit 10 million. 1.00

00:13:29.040 Watch.

00:13:29.260 Not asking for any ID and just hauling them off.

00:13:35.960 You all should be ashamed.

00:13:37.820 How do you go home to children, to friends, to family?

00:13:41.460 Do you tell them what you do for a living?

00:13:43.840 That you arrest people without cause?

00:13:47.280 That you just pick them up, put them in a truck?

00:13:50.860 Is that what you do?

00:13:52.020 Are you proud of yourself for doing this?

00:13:56.660 Are you absolutely proud?

00:13:58.840 Thank you for calling.

00:13:59.680 Thank you for calling the ice out.

00:14:00.580 Are you proud of this?

00:14:03.420 Are you proud? 1.00

00:14:05.540 You are an idiot. 1.00

00:14:06.800 You do not deserve to walk the face of this earth. 1.00

00:14:12.060 Once again, of course, completely made up.

00:14:14.840 Calling people away without cause.

00:14:17.840 None of that is happening.

00:14:19.220 None of that is happening.

00:14:22.520 It is all fake.

00:14:24.460 Every bit of it.

00:14:26.820 And the left has been doing this for years now.

00:14:31.540 Riots, chaos over completely made up. 0.97

00:14:37.460 This is as fake as all the claims five years ago about the cops are hunting down black people 0.99

00:14:44.620 and shooting them for no reason.

00:14:47.160 It's literally never happened.

00:14:48.440 It's like a thing that just has never happened.

00:14:52.620 And these maniacs live in a world in their heads where it happens every day.

00:14:58.420 And now they have ISIS tracking people down, hauling them away for no reason.

00:15:05.680 Hauling away citizens.

00:15:07.180 Never happened.

00:15:08.400 Not real.

00:15:09.240 Not happening. 0.92

00:15:09.840 Now, if shrieking unpleasant leftist women like this lose their power, the left is in real trouble. 1.00

00:15:16.620 They've spent the past decade in HR offices all over the country berating young men, discriminating against them, hounding them, scolding them.

00:15:23.520 The appropriate response has always been to treat these women with maximum contempt, which appears to be happening more and more across the country. 0.91

00:15:31.880 The White House seems to recognize that, which is why there are surging more officers to deal with these lunatics.

00:15:37.480 Again, a decisive approach is what most Americans want to see.

00:15:41.340 Most Americans support the Trump administration.

00:15:44.340 They're repulsed by communists running rampant on the streets.

00:15:47.880 And we know that because right now Donald Trump has a higher approval rating than either Bush or Obama did at this particular date in their second terms.

00:15:57.240 If you watch these videos from Minneapolis, you'd think the mob represents the way a lot of people think in this country, but it doesn't.

00:16:05.260 So you take a look at this.

00:16:06.080 The latest generic congressional ballot per Reuters suggests that there won't be a blue wave in November with a roughly 40-40 split between Democrats and Republicans.

00:16:15.040 If you look at the latest map from the Cook Political Report, you'll see there are around 210 safe Republican seats, 208 safe Democrat seats, and 17 toss-ups.

00:16:25.360 These are projections that, if they hold up, would foreclose the possibility of the blue wave that we've been warned about now.

00:16:34.160 Meanwhile, just the other day in a special election in the Alabama State House, Republican Norman Crowe won by a margin of 29 points.

00:16:40.200 Trump, for comparison, won the district by 18 points in 2024.

00:16:44.060 Now, the usual caveats apply.

00:16:45.800 Special election, low turnout, safe district.

00:16:49.180 But it's the kind of election that still demonstrates enthusiasm for the Republican Party and the direction the Trump administration is taking it.

00:16:56.120 And why not?

00:16:57.740 Most Americans are not dysgenic, unemployed freaks. 0.99

00:17:02.200 They don't want Venezuelans and lesbian agitators running rampant, murdering federal law enforcement officers in the street. 0.99

00:17:11.340 They don't want 68 IQ Somalis to scam hundreds of millions of dollars from them. 1.00

00:17:16.840 They want our laws enforced, including immigration laws. 0.87

00:17:22.020 And they don't want the federal deficit to continue increasing exponentially, which also has to be correct.

00:17:28.000 As CNBC just reported, in the first three months of the fiscal year from October to December, the deficit has dropped by more than $100 billion.

00:17:35.860 That's a 15% year-over-year drop.

00:17:38.060 These are all tangible achievements that have a meaningful impact on the lives of millions of Americans.

00:17:43.840 Yesterday, we talked about how Democrats are descending further and further into delusion.

00:17:50.120 They're whipping themselves into hysterics about things that simply aren't happening.

00:17:53.680 They're play-acting.

00:17:54.740 And the reason that they're becoming more and more hysterical with each passing day is that they're not getting what they want.

00:18:02.680 Like any other toddler, they have a tantrum.

00:18:05.880 They don't get what they want.

00:18:07.100 The tantrum only gets worse.

00:18:11.140 But just like with a toddler, the only appropriate response is to not give them what they want.

00:18:17.640 Or you only get more tantrums.

00:18:19.420 That's why Trump is, as you probably saw, literally giving the middle finger to hecklers on camera, which I think is great, personally.

00:18:31.480 You know, that's the only appropriate response to these people.

00:18:35.280 And I'd be fine if the ICE officers did that, too. 0.99

00:18:38.560 When they're being heckled by these ridiculous women, just tell them to F off and give them the middle finger. 1.00

00:18:44.540 That's what they deserve. 1.00

00:18:45.880 Trump also just oversaw a successful operation to depose, of course, a foreign dictator, return oil to the American economy.

00:18:53.880 Meanwhile, the State Department just announced that it's halting all visa processing from 75 countries whose migrants take welfare from the American people at unacceptable rates.

00:19:03.200 That includes Somalia, Iran, Haiti.

00:19:06.940 At the same time, Trump is openly mocking Denmark as he plots to take control of Greenland, which Denmark claims to have some kind of control over.

00:19:14.700 And within hours of Trump making fun of his country, Denmark's foreign minister backed down and suggested there might be a way forward for a deal.

00:19:23.540 Watch.

00:19:23.760 You know, I can't rely on Denmark being able to fend themselves off.

00:19:29.520 You know, they were talking about they put an extra dog.

00:19:31.640 And they were serious about this.

00:19:32.880 They put an extra dog sled there last month.

00:19:37.000 They entered a second dog sled.

00:19:38.820 That's not going to do the trick.

00:19:39.940 And we therefore still have a fundamental disagreement, but we also agreed to disagree.

00:19:45.820 And therefore, we will, however, continue to talk.

00:19:48.820 We have decided to form a high-level working group to explore if we can find a common way forward.

00:19:55.940 The group, in our view, should focus on how to address the American security concerns while at the same time respecting the red lines of the Kingdom of Denmark.

00:20:06.940 We expect that such a group will meet for a first time within a matter of weeks.

00:20:14.440 When you have leverage and power, people and entire countries have no choice but to do what you want them to do.

00:20:23.200 You don't need to appease anyone or lie to anyone.

00:20:26.880 You can do exactly what Trump is doing right now.

00:20:29.040 You can, you know, you can bend your adversaries to your will.

00:20:35.100 You can tell that Trump has learned the lessons of his first term in office when he spent a lot of time trying to court the so-called black vote with policies like the first step.

00:20:44.440 And so on.

00:20:46.260 That was his response to BLM.

00:20:48.140 With that in mind, take a look at this.

00:20:50.280 This is footage of the aftermath of the ICE-involved shooting in Minneapolis yesterday where the illegal alien and the local residents attacked the ICE officer.

00:20:59.000 It's reminiscent of the BLM riots of 2020 when Democrats torched American cities, including Washington, D.C., and the church right next to the White House with impunity. 0.88

00:21:06.980 Except in this case, the feds are bombarding the rioters with tear gas and rubber bullets, as they should be.

00:21:15.400 So everything we're seeing from the Trump administration suggests that this time around, the left's domestic terrorism isn't going to force ICE out of Minneapolis.

00:21:24.860 And everything we're seeing from American citizens, not the communists, but the actual Americans, suggests the Republicans will hold on to power as long as they fight this insurrection with the full force of the federal government.

00:21:37.980 And that's an important qualifier.

00:21:39.660 And I want to be very clear about this.

00:21:41.680 The administration must fight this chaos with all of the legal force it can muster.

00:21:47.400 And that force is, or should be, overwhelming.

00:21:50.540 So, so far, ICE has not backed down.

00:21:54.680 The federal government has not retreated.

00:21:56.800 That's a good thing.

00:21:59.240 Like, that's good.

00:22:00.740 But now Trump has to go all the way, which he hasn't done yet.

00:22:05.160 The fact is, as we covered, we can swoop into a foreign country and kidnap their president in the span of 90 minutes without taking a single casualty.

00:22:17.260 That's the kind of might and power that most Americans, myself included, didn't even know we had.

00:22:23.180 I didn't know we could do that.

00:22:24.140 Did you?

00:22:24.480 Apparently, we can. 1.00

00:22:27.640 And that's all the more reason why you cannot allow a ragtag group of fat, retarded losers to commit federal crimes every single night, right out in the open, in our own country. 1.00

00:22:41.780 Because we know now, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that we could put a stop to all of this completely for good. 0.99

00:22:51.560 Every one of these degenerates could be in a cage in Gitmo tonight, crying for their mommies.

00:22:59.320 Which is how they would all respond.

00:23:01.720 They're all a bunch of tough guys.

00:23:03.320 Because they know, or they've been conditioned to assume, that there will be no consequences for their actions. 0.89

00:23:10.640 The moment there's any consequence, all of these people will collapse on the ground and start crying like little b**** because that's what they are. 1.00

00:23:22.160 And so now's the time. 1.00

00:23:25.220 Punish them severely. 0.97

00:23:28.580 You can restore order completely in like 10 minutes.

00:23:34.180 None of the chaos in our streets has to happen.

00:23:36.820 And if it continues to happen, it will only be happening because it is allowed, and we cannot allow it.

00:23:46.620 Americans want strength.

00:23:48.180 They want law. 0.97

00:23:48.980 They want order.

00:23:50.540 They want to see the domestic terrorists lose and lose badly in humiliating and painful fashion.

00:23:58.300 So now is the time.

00:23:59.580 Invoke the Insurrection Act.

00:24:01.020 Send in the military.

00:24:02.560 Use all of the force that's necessary.

00:24:04.140 Lawful and, if necessary, lethal force.

00:24:08.980 If necessary. 0.99

00:24:10.340 Throw these commies into a prison cell next to Maduro where they belong. 0.85

00:24:16.080 If Republicans want to retain power, they have to use power. 0.78

00:24:21.560 Use all of it.

00:24:22.820 Go all the way.

00:24:23.900 Now's the time.

00:26:47.600 Okay, on Monday we released the first episode of our Real History series, which I'm very excited about.

00:26:54.420 This is a series that looks at some of the most talked about, I won't say well-known, but talked about, episodes of history.

00:27:05.660 And it'll tell you all the things, the idea here is to tell you all the things that you probably don't know, because they're the things that the schools didn't teach you, Hollywood doesn't make movies about, the media doesn't talk about, and the first episode of Real History is about the real history of slavery.

00:27:25.340 Here's a quick clip.

00:27:27.600 But it wasn't just the slaves that were multiracial.

00:27:30.760 It was the slaveholders, too. 0.95

00:27:31.780 At slavery's peak in 1860, thousands of slaves were owned by Choctaws, Cherokees, Creeks, and Chickasaw Indians.

00:27:39.980 As Alan Taylor writes in the book American Colonies, the Iroquois were particularly brutal in this regard.

00:27:46.240 In colonial America, the Iroquois would often subject captives, the ones they did not enslave, to ritualistic slaughter and cannibalism, in which captives would be tied to the stake, stabbed, then prodded with hot pokers.

00:27:58.340 Quote, after the victim died, the women butchered his remains, cast them into cooking kettles, and served the stew to the entire village, so that all could be bound together in absorbing the captives' power.

00:28:10.160 At the outbreak of the Civil War, one of South Carolina's wealthiest citizens was a planter and slaveholder named William Ellison.

00:28:17.020 Census records show that at the outset of the Civil War, he owned 63 slaves, making him one of the biggest slave owners in the region.

00:28:23.780 During the Civil War, he and his sons made substantial donations to the Confederate government, but what makes Ellison remarkable is that he was a black man.

00:28:32.520 In fact, he was a freed slave, whose former master had given him the business skills he needed to become a successful cotton gin manufacturer.

00:28:39.840 He was such a prominent member of South Carolina society that the Charleston Mercury newspaper noted that he was a large slaveholder and is much respected throughout the district for his integrity and general good character.

00:28:50.480 There's a lot about slavery that is not known.

00:28:58.720 Slavery in this country and throughout the world.

00:29:02.560 And it's a theme on this show.

00:29:04.420 We've talked about it quite a bit.

00:29:06.340 The idea behind this series that we're doing is to take all these things that we've already talked about, these little tidbits about history, and put them all into one single episode.

00:29:15.320 Because the fact is that we've been lied to.

00:29:18.040 We've been lied to for generations.

00:29:20.660 It's not a recent thing, right?

00:29:22.940 This is not just like in the last five years.

00:29:25.680 But for generations, the whole story of history, especially American history, is specifically designed, tailored, to make us feel guilty, to make us hate ourselves, to make us hate our country.

00:29:39.000 And I'm sick and tired of that, sick of the lies, and this series will expose the lies, will tell the truth.

00:29:48.500 And it comes out on Monday, so don't miss it.

00:29:54.000 Speaking of telling lies, Oprah Winfrey appeared on The View yesterday to promote a new book, which I don't know why she's doing that. 0.57

00:30:04.340 She's like 70 years old and worth $3 billion, but she's still going on promotional tours. 1.00

00:30:11.820 Hard for me to understand that.

00:30:13.220 Like, if I was worth $3 billion, I would never promote anything ever again.

00:30:19.880 My way of promoting something would be, yeah, I wrote this thing, read it or don't.

00:30:24.260 Really don't care.

00:30:25.160 I'm a billionaire.

00:30:26.080 Doesn't matter.

00:30:26.700 But anyway, Oprah's hawking her new book, and in the conversation with the clucking hens of The View, she extols the virtue of weight loss drugs, which I guess is the point of the book that she wrote.

00:30:39.780 That's the crux of the book.

00:30:41.720 And she offers the most impressive bit of obesity cope that I think I've ever heard. 0.99

00:30:50.280 Listen.

00:30:50.680 All these years, I thought I was overeating.

00:30:55.860 I was standing there with all the food noise, what I ate, what I should eat, how many calories was that, how long was it going to take?

00:31:01.020 I thought that that was because of me and my fault.

00:31:04.300 Now I understand that if you carry the obesity gene, if that is what you have, that is what makes you overeat.

00:31:12.140 You don't overeat and become obese.

00:31:15.500 Obesity causes you to overeat.

00:31:18.100 Obesity causes you to have all of that food noise.

00:31:21.800 And what the GLP-1s have done for me, and I know a number of other people, is to quiet that noise.

00:31:29.380 Wow, there it is.

00:31:30.640 You aren't obese because you overeat.

00:31:32.740 You overeat because you're obese.

00:31:35.940 Overeating doesn't cause obesity.

00:31:37.740 Obesity causes overeating.

00:31:40.800 That is a master class in dodging accountability.

00:31:45.640 Like I said, it's actually impressive.

00:31:48.100 Oprah is like, you know, if accountability, Oprah is like Neo in the Matrix, right?

00:31:56.620 Bending over backwards and the accountability is going over her head. 1.00

00:32:00.140 She's just dodging it. 0.73

00:32:01.640 It's very impressive.

00:32:02.920 And because what she said, it's exactly like saying, you know, you're not falling because you jumped off a building.

00:32:12.760 You jumped off a building because you're falling.

00:32:18.980 A fist didn't hit your face because I punched you. 0.99

00:32:23.640 I punched you because a fist hit your face.

00:32:26.980 I wish I had thought of this when I was a kid, like in school.

00:32:34.500 It's a good excuse I could have used.

00:32:37.280 I could have told my teachers, you know, no, I, you see, I, I didn't get a zero because I failed to turn the assignment in.

00:32:44.520 I failed to turn the assignment in because I got a zero.

00:32:51.260 Gotcha.

00:32:52.740 What do you have to say now?

00:32:54.120 So let's just make one thing very clear.

00:32:59.040 That's all nonsense.

00:33:00.300 There is no obesity gene.

00:33:02.100 She talks about the obesity gene.

00:33:03.540 The problem with that is that it doesn't exist.

00:33:06.420 So Oprah is lying to you and to herself mostly. 0.98

00:33:11.020 And you think about how pathetic that is. 0.99

00:33:12.480 I mean, this woman has spent most of her life. 0.99

00:33:15.280 She's like dedicated her life to coming up with an excuse for being fat. 1.00

00:33:19.280 That's, that's, that's been the driving engine of, uh, the, the engine of, of Oprah's career has been just this pursuit of excuses for being fat. 0.99

00:33:30.940 And now she's settled on this, the obesity gene, you know, obesity through the gene.

00:33:37.160 It's the gene that makes you fat, but there is no such gene because here's what I know.

00:33:42.160 No matter your genetics, what makes you fat is the same thing that makes anyone else fat.

00:33:49.940 Everybody in the world can be fat and they will all get fat the same way.

00:33:56.400 And that's by eating a lot and exercising a little.

00:34:03.440 It is that simple.

00:34:04.800 And every time I talk about this, I hear from people who say, oh, you're oversimplifying.

00:34:10.160 It's not that simple.

00:34:11.080 No, it is that simple.

00:34:13.420 You're fat because you're eating a lot and you're, but you're not exercising a lot.

00:34:17.760 You're consuming more calories than you burn.

00:34:22.100 This is physics.

00:34:23.200 Okay.

00:34:23.500 It's basic science.

00:34:25.100 That's the recipe for getting fat, regardless of your genetics.

00:34:29.040 Put, take a hundred people, lock them in a, in a room for a month, feed them Cinnabons and Starbucks Frappuccinos.

00:34:40.020 And, and, and, and, and ban them from exercising.

00:34:44.120 They just Cinnabons and Starbucks Frappuccinos and they, and all, all else they do is just sit on the couch and watch TV.

00:34:50.740 All of them will get fatter.

00:34:54.160 Okay.

00:34:54.580 It's got, it's got nothing to do with, with having any genes.

00:34:57.020 All of them get fatter.

00:34:58.060 Now, the rate at which you get fatter and how the fat accumulates on your body and all of that kind of stuff, you know, that, that'll differ slightly person to person.

00:35:10.000 Cause we're different people, but the basic fact of the matter is that everyone can get fatter.

00:35:17.680 I didn't mean to rhyme, but I just, the basic fact of the matter is everyone can get fatter.

00:35:22.620 And, um, call me Amanda Gorman with my, with my poetry and you get fatter by doing a certain thing, which is eating a lot.

00:35:33.880 If you don't do that thing, then you won't get fatter.

00:35:37.560 Period.

00:35:38.460 End of story.

00:35:39.620 That's it. 0.87

00:35:41.780 And I'm just so tired of the cowardly excuses. 0.95

00:35:48.060 Like I, I don't judge people really for being fat. 0.91

00:35:51.960 I mean, okay.

00:35:52.700 I judge them a little bit, but, uh, you know, not, not very harshly.

00:35:58.640 Yeah.

00:35:59.100 You get, it's your fat.

00:36:00.320 It's, it's, that's a result of gluttony and sloth, which are sins.

00:36:04.860 And so there is some judgment for that, but no one's perfect.

00:36:10.140 We all, we are all sinners.

00:36:11.720 And so, uh, it's not, and it's certainly not the worst thing in the world.

00:36:16.580 It's not the worst sin a person could commit in the world.

00:36:18.580 Uh, as long as you're not like morbidly obese, you can't even fit through the door, but just

00:36:24.560 kind of like your everyday fatness is, uh, you know, it's, it's, it's, Hey, we all have

00:36:28.920 our, we all have our flaws.

00:36:30.860 I get it.

00:36:31.380 Um, and especially as you get older, if you want to be fat, if you want to be kind of

00:36:37.240 fat, whatever, especially as you get older, I think it's kind of funny when you see people

00:36:42.060 who are much older, finally get skinny for the first time in their lives.

00:36:46.820 And there's a lot of that happening now with Ozempic where you see these celebrities who

00:36:51.480 are like older, in some, in some cases, much older, and now they're skinny for the first

00:36:57.240 time ever.

00:36:59.800 It's like John Goodman has 0% body fat now.

00:37:04.360 And when, every time I see that, I think, well, you were, you were already fat through

00:37:09.440 all the stages of your life when being fat would potentially hinder you socially.

00:37:14.320 Like you were already fat at a time when you were young and could have been good looking

00:37:20.100 and that, but that's all gone now.

00:37:22.780 I mean, you, you already, you, you decided to be fat through all that.

00:37:26.680 And it's like, at this point in your life, just ride it out.

00:37:30.420 Well, I mean, getting skinny at like 67 seems like the most pointless thing in the world.

00:37:37.700 That's exactly what I plan to get fat. 0.61

00:37:39.660 Everyone's getting skinny now at the age when I'm planning to become a blimp.

00:37:46.620 Everyone's getting skinny at an age where I'm going to look like GK Chesterton.

00:37:50.280 That's, that's the time when it doesn't matter.

00:37:56.980 Like who are you trying to impress?

00:37:58.480 You want to look good?

00:38:00.020 Who cares at this point?

00:38:02.460 So anyway, what was the point?

00:38:05.560 The point was, yes, if you want to get fat, go ahead.

00:38:10.300 I don't really care, but at least have the intellectual courage to be honest about it.

00:38:16.040 Stop making excuses.

00:38:19.040 It's my genes.

00:38:20.140 It's my hormones. 1.00

00:38:22.800 That's the part that I judge you for is, uh, I judge you for being a coward, like a lying, 1.00

00:38:29.060 pitiful coward. 1.00

00:38:30.000 Be honest. 1.00

00:38:31.300 You're fat because you eat a lot and you're lazy. 0.97

00:38:35.380 No, that's all right. 0.76

00:38:36.340 I mean, it's not all right, but it's, again, it's, we all have our flaws.

00:38:40.020 It's not the worst flaw a person can have.

00:38:42.720 Just admit it.

00:38:45.800 And, um, and that's it.

00:38:50.140 And that's why these, you know, Zempick and all that stuff, as we pointed out before, it's, 0.92

00:38:55.560 it's really funny that the body positivity movement, the fat acceptance movement has dwindled.

00:39:02.000 The moment that an easy way to lose weight was put, was made available, all that stuff

00:39:08.900 goes out the window.

00:39:09.700 But it's not like when you take Zempick, it's somehow treating or curing your obesity gene.

00:39:18.520 That's not what it's doing.

00:39:20.240 It's just making it so you're not hungry.

00:39:22.440 Like it's making you, which, which all that means is like, yes, you were getting fat before

00:39:29.560 because you were eating a lot and now you want to eat less.

00:39:32.440 And so now you're getting skinny.

00:39:33.900 So the, the, the pivotal point here, the thing, the crux of it is the food.

00:39:40.640 Thanks to HomeServe for sponsoring this episode.

00:39:44.120 There are a lot of perks to owning a home versus renting from a landlord.

00:39:47.020 But one of the things that most people dread about buying and owning a home are the expensive

00:39:51.120 repairs that are bound to happen.

00:39:52.700 Regular homeowners insurance doesn't cover everyday repairs like plumbing failures and

00:39:57.300 electrical issues, leaving you on your own to cover the repairs.

00:40:00.240 But now there's another option called HomeServe for as little as $4.99 a month.

00:40:04.880 You've got backup when things break instead of frantically searching for a contractor in a

00:40:09.300 panic. You'd already be on the phone with HomeServe 24 seven hotline, getting someone

00:40:14.000 scheduled. HomeServe has a lot of different plans to choose from that cover different things.

00:40:19.440 Just pick a plan that fits your budget. And when something goes wrong, all you have to

00:40:22.880 do is call HomeServe and they will handle it.

00:40:25.560 They've been doing this for over 20 years with a network of 2,600 local contractors.

00:40:29.720 HomeServe could, could have been great when my wife and I first bought a house instead of

00:40:33.060 spending hours calling around for quotes and costs.

00:40:35.980 Well, we could have just called HomeServe and would have been one call and done.

00:40:40.100 Help protect your home and your wallet. HomeServe against covering repairs.

00:40:44.380 Plan started just $4.99 a month. Go to homeserve.com to find the plan that's right for you.

00:40:48.380 That's homeserve.com. Not available everywhere. Most plans range from $4.99 to $1,199 a month.

00:40:53.940 Your first year terms apply on covered repairs.

00:40:57.280 Okay, we'll play this quickly. There was a congressional hearing about, I guess this was about the abortion

00:41:03.460 pill yesterday and an expert witness called by the Democrats. This is Dr. Nisha Verma was there to

00:41:13.740 testify. Senator Josh Hawley asked her a question that, you know, given the topic and given that

00:41:19.860 she's a medical expert, seems like a fair question, a relevant question. And it's a question that any

00:41:25.980 medical expert or any five-year-old child should be able to answer. And the question was, can men get

00:41:32.900 pregnant? And here's how that went.

00:41:37.460 Yeah, I wasn't sure where you were going with that.

00:41:39.540 Well, the goal is just the truth. So can men get pregnant? 0.97

00:41:43.240 Again, the reason I paused there is I'm not really sure what the goal of the question is.

00:41:48.140 The goal is just to establish a biological reality. You just said a moment ago that

00:41:51.860 science and evidence should control, not politics. So let's just test that proposition. Can men get 0.87

00:41:58.240 pregnant? 0.57

00:41:59.280 I take care of people with many identities, but I take care of many women that can get pregnant. I do

00:42:05.700 take care of people that don't identify as women.

00:42:08.980 Can men get pregnant? 1.00

00:42:11.660 Again, as I'm saying...

00:42:13.320 Let me just remind you of you testified to a moment ago. Science and evidence should control,

00:42:17.520 not politics. So can men get pregnant? You're a doctor, I think. 0.84

00:42:23.200 I totally agree. Science and evidence should guide medicine.

00:42:26.280 Do science and evidence tell us that men can get pregnant? Biological men. Can they get pregnant? 1.00

00:42:30.940 I also think yes-no questions like this are a political tool.

00:42:34.620 No, yes-no questions are about the truth, doctor. Let's not make a mockery of this proceeding.

00:42:38.800 This is about science and evidence. And I'm asking you, you know, the United States Supreme Court just heard

00:42:43.800 arguments yesterday at great length on this question. This is not a hypothetical question.

00:42:48.860 This is not theoretical. It affects real people in their real lives. And you're here as an expert,

00:42:53.960 called by the other side as an expert. And you've been telling us that you follow...

00:42:59.360 Right, you're a doctor. And you follow the science and the evidence. So I just want to know,

00:43:03.780 based on the science, can men get pregnant?

00:43:08.280 That's a yes or no question. It really is, I think.

00:43:10.700 I think you're trying to reduce the complexity of a lot of...

00:43:14.000 I'm not. I'm trying to get... It's not complex. I'm trying to get to an answer. And I'm trying to test,

00:43:19.080 frankly, your veracity as a medical professional and as a scientist. Can men get pregnant? 0.74

00:43:25.640 I think you're also conflating male and female with...

00:43:29.520 No, I'm not conflating male and female. There are two different things. There's biological men

00:43:33.640 and there's biological women. And I want to know, can men get pregnant?

00:43:40.280 You know, this is... I mean, it's... What else is there to say about it? It's...

00:43:44.860 This is exactly equivalent to

00:43:47.940 questioning... If this was an astronomer, let's say,

00:43:53.300 who was being... Testifying for some reason.

00:43:55.520 And... A highly educated person.

00:44:01.180 He's got a PhD in relevant fields.

00:44:04.540 Right?

00:44:05.680 He's worked for NASA.

00:44:08.000 And you were to say,

00:44:10.240 sir, does the...

00:44:12.380 Is... Is the sun made of gumdrops?

00:44:15.720 Well, I don't...

00:44:17.460 Well, that's a yes or no question. I can't...

00:44:19.280 I... What... What do you...

00:44:20.740 Is the... Is it made of gumdrops?

00:44:22.620 Is it...

00:44:24.620 Yes or no?

00:44:25.840 Can you tell us whether it's made of gumdrops?

00:44:28.620 Well, this... This is... This is a...

00:44:31.400 This... How can we get into hypotheticals?

00:44:33.420 This is a...

00:44:34.620 It's just like that.

00:44:37.780 And if you saw a scene like that,

00:44:39.460 like, nobody would...

00:44:42.180 This is...

00:44:43.260 If this person was going to be your professor

00:44:45.340 for your astronomy class,

00:44:47.140 I think you'd be looking for another class.

00:44:49.220 And actually, it's always hard to come up with

00:44:52.640 analogies for this sort of thing

00:44:55.080 because the analogy I just offered

00:44:57.380 is that... That is not as bad

00:45:00.040 as what we just saw.

00:45:03.140 Like, it...

00:45:04.220 It would be more rational

00:45:06.080 for someone to believe

00:45:08.420 that the sun is made of gumdrops

00:45:10.520 than to believe

00:45:12.340 that a man can get pregnant. 0.93

00:45:15.220 It would actually be

00:45:15.980 significantly more rational.

00:45:17.440 Which isn't to say that it's rational,

00:45:19.640 but it's significantly more rational.

00:45:23.220 Because it is at least...

00:45:24.580 It's like...

00:45:25.980 It's not necessarily logically impossible

00:45:28.320 in some hypothetical universe

00:45:31.740 that you could have a sun made of gumdrops.

00:45:35.440 There's a...

00:45:36.740 One can imagine a hypothetical world

00:45:39.920 where maybe such a thing could occur.

00:45:44.280 It's not logically impossible.

00:45:46.120 It's like, can elephants fly?

00:45:49.160 Well, they can't fly, but...

00:45:51.020 So the answer's no,

00:45:52.100 but is it...

00:45:52.800 I mean, is it possible?

00:45:53.740 Is there some alternative universe

00:45:55.860 where such a thing could possibly happen?

00:45:59.840 But men getting pregnant is... 1.00

00:46:01.760 It's like a...

00:46:03.120 It's more analogous to a squared circle

00:46:06.320 or a married bachelor.

00:46:08.300 It's a logical impossibility.

00:46:10.260 There's no universe

00:46:11.420 where such a thing could happen

00:46:12.660 by definition.

00:46:13.460 So it's pretty much

00:46:17.420 the most absurd thing

00:46:18.840 a person can put forward

00:46:20.420 or propose.

00:46:21.360 And here you have

00:46:22.100 a doctor,

00:46:23.340 a medical doctor,

00:46:23.960 who's stumped by it.

00:46:25.000 And it's funny because

00:46:25.760 there were a lot of comments

00:46:28.120 from the left,

00:46:29.300 of course,

00:46:29.660 reacting to that clip there,

00:46:31.280 which goes on, by the way,

00:46:31.980 for like five minutes.

00:46:32.840 We just played

00:46:33.360 a minute or two of it.

00:46:35.680 It goes on.

00:46:37.400 And there were a lot of comments

00:46:38.940 from the left saying,

00:46:40.420 trying to turn this back

00:46:41.860 on Josh Hawley

00:46:42.720 and saying,

00:46:45.040 why are we doing

00:46:46.680 this cheap gotcha?

00:46:48.320 This is a cheap gotcha question.

00:46:50.180 Oh, is it?

00:46:53.000 Okay, if you can get got

00:46:54.740 by a question like that,

00:46:56.180 well, that's more...

00:46:57.000 That's on you.

00:46:59.620 If somebody comes up to you

00:47:00.720 and says,

00:47:00.960 hey, what's two plus two?

00:47:04.660 And you say,

00:47:05.500 well, what is this,

00:47:06.040 a gotcha question?

00:47:08.820 Well, that's a reflection of you.

00:47:10.760 It might be a gotcha.

00:47:12.020 Like, it is a gotcha question,

00:47:13.240 actually.

00:47:14.660 There's a reason he's asking it.

00:47:16.000 I mean, obviously,

00:47:16.600 he knows that she can't answer it.

00:47:18.120 So it is a gotcha question.

00:47:19.500 But the fact that you can be got

00:47:21.280 by that question

00:47:22.320 is a reflection of you.

00:47:24.940 If I know that you're 1.00

00:47:25.840 very, very, very stupid 1.00

00:47:27.020 and I want to demonstrate 1.00

00:47:28.600 that fact,

00:47:29.540 then I might ask you

00:47:30.320 what's two plus two.

00:47:31.440 And it is a gotcha

00:47:32.440 because I want to get you 1.00

00:47:33.400 by proving how stupid you are. 1.00

00:47:34.760 But that's not on me. 1.00

00:47:35.780 That's on you.

00:47:39.200 All right.

00:47:39.700 Finally,

00:47:41.400 we'll end with this.

00:47:46.840 You know,

00:47:47.080 McKenna, my producer,

00:47:47.900 always tells me

00:47:48.440 that my numbers tank

00:47:49.940 and I lose subscribers

00:47:50.840 any time I say anything

00:47:52.040 critical about dogs.

00:47:54.400 And no one on my team

00:47:57.420 ever tries to dissuade me

00:47:59.300 from saying any of the crazy things

00:48:01.680 I say every day,

00:48:03.560 except when it comes

00:48:04.820 to being negative about dogs.

00:48:06.220 That's the one thing

00:48:07.320 where everyone gets very nervous

00:48:09.100 when you start

00:48:10.520 offering negative commentary

00:48:13.040 related to dogs.

00:48:14.240 That's when people get

00:48:15.000 very, very nervous.

00:48:16.420 Now, but the truth is

00:48:17.460 that I don't criticize dogs.

00:48:20.280 I mean, who?

00:48:21.140 They're dogs.

00:48:21.800 Like, what is there to criticize?

00:48:22.940 They're animals.

00:48:24.380 What I criticize are people

00:48:26.380 and their attitude towards dogs.

00:48:28.360 So I am unfairly maligned

00:48:32.820 as a person who hates dogs.

00:48:34.480 I actually don't.

00:48:35.500 I like dogs.

00:48:36.340 I have a dog.

00:48:38.400 You know,

00:48:38.800 her name is Penny.

00:48:40.040 I'm her favorite person

00:48:41.180 in the house.

00:48:42.320 Believe it or not,

00:48:43.640 I'm her favorite person.

00:48:46.980 And,

00:48:47.340 you know,

00:48:48.480 every night after

00:48:49.980 everyone goes to bed

00:48:50.920 at my house,

00:48:52.020 kids are in bed,

00:48:52.980 wife's in bed, 0.64

00:48:53.700 sit on the couch

00:48:54.420 by the fireplace,

00:48:56.340 Penny comes up,

00:48:56.940 she sits with me.

00:48:57.680 It's like our routine.

00:48:59.760 You know?

00:49:00.180 So,

00:49:01.180 I actually like dogs.

00:49:02.860 If my dog died,

00:49:04.100 I'd be sad.

00:49:06.100 I thought she ran away 1.00

00:49:07.180 a few weeks ago

00:49:08.660 and I was out

00:49:10.300 at like midnight

00:49:10.920 freezing cold

00:49:11.780 in the snow

00:49:12.420 in my slippers

00:49:14.820 trudging through the snow

00:49:16.320 looking for her.

00:49:18.380 And I don't know

00:49:19.020 why I was wearing,

00:49:19.500 the whole time I'm like,

00:49:20.080 why am I wearing slippers?

00:49:20.880 I just put boots on.

00:49:21.800 This is pointless.

00:49:22.860 I'm getting frostbite

00:49:23.560 for no reason.

00:49:24.200 Anyway,

00:49:24.380 she shows up back 0.64

00:49:25.100 at the front door

00:49:25.640 like nothing is wrong.

00:49:27.700 But,

00:49:27.960 you know,

00:49:28.740 I was worried there

00:49:29.260 for a bit.

00:49:29.740 So,

00:49:29.940 everyone thinks

00:49:30.440 that I have no heart

00:49:31.440 but I'm actually

00:49:32.100 a sensitive guy

00:49:32.720 when it comes down to it.

00:49:33.440 If you chip through

00:49:34.500 the miles of arctic ice

00:49:36.480 inside my soul,

00:49:39.060 you'll get down

00:49:39.680 to something

00:49:40.300 approaching a human heart.

00:49:42.540 And that's the point.

00:49:43.620 But I don't like

00:49:44.300 the attitude

00:49:44.720 many people have

00:49:45.300 towards dogs

00:49:45.780 and that attitude

00:49:46.600 can only be described

00:49:47.320 as something approaching

00:49:48.580 like the pagan worship

00:49:49.960 of dogs.

00:49:50.620 That's my thing.

00:49:51.760 Getting a wide variety

00:49:52.760 of whole food ingredients

00:49:53.540 into my diet

00:49:54.720 is key for me this year

00:51:30.180 And so this is a story

00:51:31.160 that I saw a few days ago.

00:51:32.600 It's a perfect example of it.

00:51:33.880 This is from page six.

00:51:37.560 Jennifer Lawrence

00:51:38.440 was called out as awful

00:51:39.780 after revealing

00:51:41.420 she rehomed her chihuahua

00:51:43.420 named Princess Pippi Longstocking

00:51:46.240 because it bit her son.

00:51:50.340 Now, I would agree 0.98

00:51:50.980 that she's awful

00:51:51.600 for having a chihuahua

00:51:52.920 with that name.

00:51:54.360 That's the awful part.

00:51:55.560 But getting rid of the dog

00:51:56.600 is not.

00:51:57.500 Fans quickly jumped online

00:51:58.460 to criticize

00:51:59.020 the Hunger Games actress

00:52:00.040 after she joked

00:52:00.920 that she wanted to

00:52:01.580 obliterate every dog

00:52:02.820 in light of the incident

00:52:04.700 in a screening of her movie

00:52:05.620 Die My Love.

00:52:08.080 So the...

00:52:09.880 She got rid of the dog 0.95

00:52:10.560 because it bit her son.

00:52:11.340 And then, of course,

00:52:11.780 all the comments.

00:52:12.480 People are very upset.

00:52:13.180 One Instagram user said,

00:52:17.560 you don't dump your dog

00:52:18.420 just because you had kids.

00:52:19.640 You learn to teach your kids

00:52:20.700 to respect your pet.

00:52:22.280 Wow.

00:52:23.860 Another one says,

00:52:24.680 I have twins

00:52:25.220 and my dogs are family forever.

00:52:27.220 We're a pack together,

00:52:28.380 a home full of love,

00:52:29.540 respect, loyalty,

00:52:31.040 and time dedicated to all.

00:52:33.080 Do better, Jennifer.

00:52:36.740 What's especially concerning

00:52:37.980 is using a massive platform

00:52:39.340 not only to normalize

00:52:40.360 giving up a dog

00:52:41.120 after a preventable incident,

00:52:42.200 but to publicly speak

00:52:43.500 so flippantly

00:52:44.280 about obliterating dogs.

00:52:48.280 So, anyway,

00:52:49.440 so that's the controversy.

00:52:50.720 First of all,

00:52:52.080 as I've already established,

00:52:53.300 I like our dog Penny.

00:52:54.320 If she attacked one of my kids,

00:52:56.060 she's gone.

00:52:56.700 Easy decision.

00:52:58.960 I've never understood

00:53:00.180 the people that treat this

00:53:01.020 like it's a...

00:53:02.580 Like there's any kind of question.

00:53:04.120 It's something we need

00:53:04.620 to think about.

00:53:05.860 Like it's a tough...

00:53:06.540 Like it's a tough call.

00:53:08.020 Not a tough call.

00:53:08.920 And I've especially

00:53:11.640 never understood the people,

00:53:12.800 and this is what I've said

00:53:14.380 over the years

00:53:14.860 that gets me in trouble.

00:53:16.540 It just makes me

00:53:17.260 want to say it more.

00:53:18.680 The people who treat

00:53:19.820 their pets as children.

00:53:21.940 I think it's a...

00:53:22.840 And you hear it

00:53:23.500 in some of these comments.

00:53:24.860 Well, we're all a family together.

00:53:27.000 And the implication is like

00:53:28.220 we're all equal.

00:53:29.120 I would never give it...

00:53:30.100 You know,

00:53:30.360 you can't get rid of the dog

00:53:31.200 for biting...

00:53:31.660 That's like I wouldn't get rid

00:53:32.840 of my kid for biting the dog.

00:53:36.000 I think it's a sickness.

00:53:37.060 I think it's deranged.

00:53:38.900 And now that I have six kids

00:53:40.560 and pets,

00:53:42.280 a dog and cats,

00:53:44.480 I actually have four cats

00:53:46.520 if you can believe it.

00:53:47.200 Have I mentioned that?

00:53:48.460 I have four cats.

00:53:51.680 Four.

00:53:52.260 I have four of them.

00:53:55.520 It's way too many.

00:53:56.280 Now I'm getting sidetracked.

00:53:57.060 It's way too many cats.

00:53:58.120 It's like...

00:53:58.640 It's the exact number of cats

00:54:00.840 that crosses the line

00:54:02.260 into mental illness.

00:54:03.460 And I...

00:54:04.360 Because if you have one cat,

00:54:05.580 that's fine.

00:54:06.060 If you have two cats,

00:54:06.840 you know, okay.

00:54:07.760 Three cats,

00:54:08.500 like...

00:54:09.560 You walk into a house

00:54:10.420 and someone has three cats,

00:54:11.220 you're like,

00:54:11.440 you really like cats.

00:54:14.060 Four cats? 1.00

00:54:14.880 You're mentally ill. 1.00

00:54:16.700 You walk into someone's house 1.00

00:54:17.840 and then you see one cat

00:54:18.980 and then another cat comes in

00:54:19.940 and a third cat

00:54:20.600 and you're like,

00:54:20.920 what?

00:54:21.060 You guys like cats?

00:54:21.760 And then a fourth cat?

00:54:24.000 You turn around and walk out.

00:54:25.380 You're like,

00:54:25.640 you're not...

00:54:26.000 And you should.

00:54:26.520 You're not safe there.

00:54:28.640 This is someone

00:54:29.060 who should be institutionalized.

00:54:30.480 And yet that's how many cats

00:54:31.540 I have.

00:54:32.900 And I'm not mentally ill.

00:54:35.960 It's always a good sign

00:54:37.080 when you have to tell people

00:54:37.660 you're not mentally ill.

00:54:38.720 I mean,

00:54:38.940 maybe I am,

00:54:39.560 but it's not because

00:54:40.020 of the cats thing.

00:54:41.060 The thing is that I've just

00:54:41.980 allowed my daughters,

00:54:43.020 which I think I mentioned before

00:54:43.940 when it comes to,

00:54:44.560 you know,

00:54:44.720 the goats,

00:54:46.180 I just allowed them

00:54:47.620 to keep accumulating cats.

00:54:49.760 They keep coming up

00:54:50.380 with reasons

00:54:51.060 why they need more cats

00:54:53.080 and I fall for it

00:54:54.180 every single time.

00:54:55.740 I don't even fall for it.

00:54:56.620 I'm not stupid. 0.91

00:54:57.960 But they just keep devising. 0.98

00:55:00.320 The two of them,

00:55:01.280 my 12-year-old

00:55:01.800 and 6-year-old,

00:55:03.000 they just keep devising

00:55:04.200 these schemes,

00:55:05.820 these like reasons

00:55:06.700 why they just need...

00:55:08.620 You know what we need?

00:55:09.660 We just need another cat.

00:55:10.800 What we need in here

00:55:11.840 is another cat.

00:55:13.320 Here's a problem

00:55:14.080 and the way to solve it, Dad,

00:55:16.060 is to get just one more cat.

00:55:19.700 And I let them do it.

00:55:22.520 You know,

00:55:22.780 it's the classic,

00:55:23.600 as I've said before,

00:55:24.480 it's a classic,

00:55:25.780 classic cliche thing

00:55:27.300 of the dad

00:55:28.600 that just can't say no

00:55:29.680 to his daughters.

00:55:30.800 With my sons,

00:55:31.780 you know,

00:55:31.920 they'll come in

00:55:32.440 and they'll say,

00:55:32.860 Dad, can I have a...

00:55:33.640 No, you're fine.

00:55:34.160 You don't need...

00:55:35.080 You know,

00:55:35.360 whatever you say,

00:55:36.120 you don't need it.

00:55:37.320 And then my daughters

00:55:38.200 come in and say,

00:55:38.700 Dad, can I have a...

00:55:40.560 Can I have 10 ponies

00:55:41.780 and a billion dollars?

00:55:43.940 And I say,

00:55:44.540 Sure.

00:55:45.700 Anything for you.

00:55:49.060 So anyway,

00:55:50.620 where was I?

00:55:52.380 Yeah,

00:55:52.800 I think it's a sickness.

00:55:53.640 So it's a sickness

00:55:55.080 to have as many cats

00:55:55.800 as we have.

00:55:56.360 It's also a sickness

00:55:57.280 of the modern world.

00:55:58.240 People insist on treating animals

00:55:59.800 as equal to human.

00:56:01.680 You know,

00:56:02.180 especially parents

00:56:02.940 who have children

00:56:03.780 and yet see the pets

00:56:05.600 as equal to their kids.

00:56:07.080 I think that's

00:56:07.880 slightly less common,

00:56:09.260 although it does happen.

00:56:10.280 More common are the people,

00:56:11.320 and these are the people

00:56:11.900 that are yelling

00:56:12.440 at Jennifer Lawrence,

00:56:13.420 people who don't have kids

00:56:14.800 and see their pets

00:56:15.720 as a replacement.

00:56:17.580 A lot of people

00:56:18.280 obviously have pets

00:56:19.000 instead of kids

00:56:19.840 because pets are easier.

00:56:21.140 And they demand less of you.

00:56:22.860 They give you affection

00:56:23.640 and attention.

00:56:24.680 You don't have to do much

00:56:25.600 for them except feed them

00:56:26.940 and let them use 0.99

00:56:27.880 the toilet somewhere.

00:56:29.460 And that's why people

00:56:29.980 prefer pets over children.

00:56:32.160 Because the reason is

00:56:33.660 because they prefer

00:56:34.460 themselves over children.

00:56:36.700 That's my issue

00:56:37.360 with the pet worship.

00:56:38.520 When people say things like,

00:56:40.620 Dogs are better than people.

00:56:43.980 Dogs are so much better.

00:56:47.280 Dogs would... 0.50

00:56:48.140 Dogs would never commit terrorism

00:56:50.700 or do mass shootings.

00:56:52.400 Only people do that.

00:56:53.860 Dogs are so much better.

00:56:57.020 Yeah, your dog wouldn't do that

00:56:58.620 because he doesn't have

00:56:59.260 opposable thumbs.

00:57:00.620 Okay, that's the main reason

00:57:01.720 why dogs don't commit terrorism

00:57:04.440 or mass shootings.

00:57:05.480 There are definitely dog breeds

00:57:06.540 that would do terrorism

00:57:07.580 if they could,

00:57:09.240 like pit bulls.

00:57:11.140 If they could figure out 0.97

00:57:12.120 how to do a suicide bombing,

00:57:13.480 you don't think they'd do it?

00:57:14.320 But mostly, yes,

00:57:16.980 it's true that dogs

00:57:18.060 don't commit acts of evil

00:57:19.840 like humans do.

00:57:21.540 And that's because

00:57:22.740 dogs don't make moral choices.

00:57:26.000 Dogs are not moral animals.

00:57:28.520 And you can have dogs

00:57:29.940 and really like dogs

00:57:30.880 and still admit that.

00:57:32.300 You don't need to have

00:57:32.900 this Disney view of the world.

00:57:37.040 You could just be rational,

00:57:39.100 as I am,

00:57:40.920 when it comes to this at least.

00:57:42.980 Dogs don't make moral choices.

00:57:45.140 Dogs respond to incentives.

00:57:46.740 Dogs respond to instinct.

00:57:49.180 Dogs don't wrestle 0.99

00:57:50.620 with the morality of a thing.

00:57:53.420 So while dogs don't do the evil

00:57:55.520 that human beings do,

00:57:56.540 they also don't commit

00:57:57.540 the acts of virtue

00:57:58.680 and courage that humans do.

00:58:00.940 There's no such thing

00:58:02.100 as a virtuous dog.

00:58:05.100 And anyone who wants

00:58:05.980 to push back on that

00:58:06.760 and say, no,

00:58:07.180 my dog is very virtuous.

00:58:08.320 There can be virtuous dogs.

00:58:09.480 Okay, well then you're saying

00:58:10.400 that dogs make moral choices,

00:58:11.960 which means you would also

00:58:13.280 have to say that

00:58:13.940 there are evil dogs.

00:58:15.500 And yet you don't want

00:58:16.420 to admit that either.

00:58:18.040 Because when a dog

00:58:18.780 bites someone,

00:58:19.280 you say, it's not the dog,

00:58:20.160 it's the owner.

00:58:21.300 So what you're saying

00:58:21.920 is that dogs are capable

00:58:22.940 of moral choices,

00:58:23.980 but they only ever make

00:58:25.100 good moral choices.

00:58:26.240 So they're basically

00:58:27.040 angelic creatures

00:58:29.280 is what you're saying.

00:58:31.800 This is like a whole new theology.

00:58:33.920 This is a theology of dogs 0.91

00:58:35.620 that you've just created.

00:58:37.600 But people prefer dogs

00:58:40.660 because dogs are,

00:58:42.100 you know,

00:58:42.320 much less demanding.

00:58:43.340 You know,

00:58:43.540 and loving a human being

00:58:44.680 requires work and sacrifice

00:58:46.040 and bettering yourself

00:58:47.940 as a person.

00:58:49.100 Loving a dog requires

00:58:50.140 basically none of that.

00:58:52.540 And that's why dogs

00:58:54.620 are elevated above people

00:58:55.980 for that reason.

00:58:56.860 It's for a very self-centered,

00:58:58.240 selfish reason.

00:59:00.220 That's my point.

00:59:01.100 And good.

00:59:03.640 Now that I've alienated

00:59:04.400 the entire audience,

00:59:06.480 which I, you know,

00:59:07.340 we got to do

00:59:07.740 before the end of the week,

00:59:08.820 I think we can wrap it up there.

00:59:11.320 Remember,

00:59:11.600 Real History

00:59:12.220 with Matt Walsh

00:59:13.940 comes out on Monday

00:59:14.640 and you definitely

00:59:15.760 don't want to miss that.

00:59:16.660 And I will talk to you

00:59:17.540 on Monday.

00:59:18.940 Godspeed.

00:59:27.220 What was it like,

00:59:28.960 Mylon,

00:59:29.600 to be alone

00:59:31.040 with God?

00:59:36.580 Is that who you think

00:59:37.740 I was alone with?

00:59:42.740 Meridin,

00:59:43.620 I knew your father.

00:59:45.180 I am yet convinced

00:59:46.160 that he was not

00:59:46.880 of this world.

00:59:50.300 All men know 0.94

00:59:51.660 of the great Taliesin.

00:59:53.640 You are my father,

00:59:54.820 that the gods

00:59:55.360 should war for my soul.

00:59:57.940 Princess Garrus,

00:59:59.520 savior of our people.

01:00:01.040 I know what the bull god offered you.

01:00:06.080 I was offered the same.

01:00:08.080 And?

01:00:09.580 There is a new power

01:00:10.520 at work in the world.

01:00:11.660 I've seen it.

01:00:13.740 A god who sacrifices 0.85

01:00:15.020 what he loves for us.

01:00:16.420 We are each given

01:00:17.080 only one life, singer.

01:00:18.040 No.

01:00:19.500 We are given another.

01:00:24.080 I learnt of Yezu the Christ. 0.54

01:00:26.440 And I have become

01:00:27.280 his follower.
